Feeley still out injured

(1/1/2012) For the fourth straight week, Rams backup QB A.J. Feeley (thumb) was among his team's inactives. Therefore, he will not replace the injured Sam Bradford (ankle) in Week 17 against the 49ers, so the start will go to Kellen Clemens.

Feeley remains inactive

(12/18/2011) St. Louis QB A.J. Feeley is inactive for Week 15 against Cincinnati because of an ailing thumb. He was ruled out for the game last week and is the second Rams quarterback to be listed as inactive (Sam Bradford). QB Kellen Clemens will start for St. Louis on Sunday.

Feeley inactive for Week 14

(12/12/2011) Rams QB A.J. Feeley was listed among the inactives for Week 14 against the Seahawks. He was ruled out on Saturday due to his thumb injury.

Feeley to sit Monday night

(12/10/2011) Rams QB A.J. Feeley (thumb) missed a third straight practice Saturday as the team prepares for Week 14 at Seattle. Feeley has been ruled out for the game on Monday night.

Feeley misses another practice

(12/8/2011) Rams QB A.J. Feeley (thumb) missed a second straight practice Thursday as the team prepares for Week 14 at Seattle. Feeley essentially ruled himself out for Monday, saying he “more than likely” will not be available for the game against the Seahawks.

Feeley looking doubtful for Week 14

(12/7/2011) Rams QBs Sam Bradford (ankle) and A.J. Feeley (thumb) did not practice on Wednesday. Tom Brandstater, a second-year player from Fresno State, took all the first-team snaps in the hour-long walkthrough. Feeley essentially ruled himself out for Monday, saying he “more than likely” will not be available for the game against the Seahawks.

Feeley has fracture in thumb

(12/5/2011) Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo talked to the media Monday about the status of his QB situation heading into Week 14 at Seattle. He said it's the status quo for QB Sam Bradford, who missed Week 13 after he aggravated an ankle injury. He will be monitored closely during the practice week. Bradford is still sore as of Monday. Bradford's replacement, A.J. Feeley, sustained a small fracture in his right thumb and Spagnuolo is unsure how that will affect him moving forward. He might have a chance to play Sunday, but Spagnuolo said QB Tom Brandstater will have to prepare to play in case Bradford and Feeley are out.

Feeley has X-rays after loss

(12/4/2011) Rams QB A.J. Feeley, playing in place of injured starter Sam Bradford, had a dreadful start in Week 14 at San Francisco. Feeley completed 12 of 22 passes for 156 yards, no touchdowns and an interception, while being sacked four times. After the game, Feeley had X-rays taken of his right thumb, and the team is waiting on the results of that. Feeley only completed one pass longer than 20 yards, a 34-yarder to Brandon Lloyd. St. Louis lost the game 26-0.

Feeley gets the start

(12/4/2011) Rams QB A.J. Feeley stepped into the starting role for Week 13 at San Francisco, as Sam Bradford's ankle injury cost him his third start of the season, and first since Week 7.

Feeley might have to start Week 13

(12/2/2011) Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said QB Sam Bradford was "very limited" in practice Friday because of a lingering ankle injury. Spagnuolo said Bradford is sore and is about the same he was on Thursday, when he didn't practice. He will be evaluated again over the weekend and is expected to be a game-time decision Week 13 at San Francisco. If Bradford is out, then A.J. Feeley gets the start.

Feeley wins, dismisses controversy

(10/30/2011) In perhaps the greatest underdog story of the 2011 NFL season, backup QB A.J. Feeley led the previously winless Rams to a 31-21 victory over the high-powered Saints in Week 8. Granted, RB Steven Jackson and the pass rush deserve most of the credit for the victory, but Feeley did a good job leading the offense, completing 20 of 37 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown on an 8-yard pass to WR Brandon Lloyd in the second quarter. After the game, Feeley dismissed any potential controversy between him and starting QB Sam Bradford. "This is Sam’s team," Feeley said. “Are you kidding me? I understand my role. I’m just fortunate the guys in there with me played well. But, let me reiterate this, this is Sam’s team.”

Feeley receives another start

(10/28/2011) St. Louis QB A.J. Feeley is scheduled to start Week 8 against New Orleans after Sam Bradford (ankle sprain) was ruled out for the game on Friday. Feeley will make his second straight start in place and will look to improve on the 196-yard performance he turned in against Dallas during Week 7. He did not record a touchdown and was picked off once during the Rams' 34-7 loss -- the third time this year they've scored fewer than 10 points.

Feeley looking at another start

(10/27/2011) With Sam Bradford looking more and more likely to sit out again Week 8 against the Saints because of a high ankle sprain, QB A.J. Feeley is expected to make his second straight start for the Rams. On the one hand, he's looking at a decent matchup. The Saints have allowed 19.4 Fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, 11th-most in the NFL, and the Rams might be forced to pass to keep pace with their high-scoring offense. On the other hand, Feeley wasn't so impressive in his start at Dallas last week, and the Saints allow 5.4 yards per carry, making RB Steven Jackson the more likely candidate to play a big role on offense this week.

Feeley struggles in start

(10/23/2011) St. Louis QB A.J. Feeley threw for just 196 passing yards in Week 7 against Dallas. Feeley got the start in place of injured quarterback, Sam Bradford. Feeley was also picked off once in the contest. The Rams would lose the game, 34-7, to the Cowboys. He was also sacked once.

Feeley to get Week 7 start

(10/22/2011) NFL Insider reports Saturday that the Rams will start QB A.J. Feeley on Sunday of Week 7 in Dallas. The team downgraded Sam Bradford to out due to his injured ankle.

Feeley will have to wait until game-time

(10/21/2011) Rams QB Sam Bradford did not practice with the team on Friday because of his injured ankle, but he did work individually indoors. He will be a game-time decision for Week 7 at Dallas. A.J. Feeley will start Sunday if Bradford can't.

Feeley to get a chance to start?

(10/17/2011) Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo revealed at his Monday press conference that QB Sam Bradford has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain and is wearing a walking boot. Spagnuolo added that he was "concerned" about Bradford's status and that backup QB A.J. Feeley would get plenty of reps in practice this week as a result.

Feeley gets a sniff in Week 1

(9/11/2011) Rams QB A.J. Feeley had to come into his team's Week 1 loss to the Eagles in the fourth quarter after starter Sam Bradford suffered a finger injury. He completed 2 of 6 passes for 21 yards.

Feeley opens as No. 2 QB

(9/4/2010) The Rams have named rookie QB Sam Bradford as the starter for the regular season opener Sept. 12 against Arizona. The Rams also released QB Keith Null on Saturday, leaving A.J. Feeley and undrafted rookie Thaddeus Lewis as Bradford's backups.

Rams not naming top QB yet

(9/3/2010) Sam Bradford will have to wait a few days to learn if he'll start the St. Louis Rams' opener. Head coach Steve Spagnuolo said Friday that he'd make a decision in the next two or three days on whether Bradford or veteran A.J. Feeley would start in Week 1 against the Cardinals. In his two starts, Bradford was 21 for 28 for 257 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. After the game, he wasn't campaigning for the job. "If he says that, then I'll handle it like I know I can," Bradford said. "But until then, I'm just going to show up, do what I can and hopefully one day I will be the starter of this team."

Feeley watches Bradford

(9/2/2010) Rams QB A.J. Feeley did not dress for Thursday's preseason finale against the Ravens. He was not expected to play as he continues to deal with thumb and elbow injuries. Rookie Sam Bradford got the start against Baltimore.

Feeley doubtful for Thursday

(8/27/2010) QB A.J. Feeley (thumb, elbow) is doubtful for the final preseason game Thursday against the Ravens, so rookie QB Sam Bradford will make his second straight start. Bradford completed 15 of 22 passes for 189 yards and two scores Thursday at New England.

Feeley watches hopelessly Thurs.

(8/26/2010) Rams QB A.J. Feeley might have watched his chances to open the season as St. Louis' starting quarterback dwindle on Thursday. Feeley was unavailable to play in the team's third preseason contest against the Patriots due to thumb and elbow injuries. Rookie QB Sam Bradford started in his absence and was very effective, competing 15 of 22 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns.

Feeley hopes to return next week

(8/23/2010) Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo is hoping QB A.J. Feeley will return to practice next week, he said on Monday. “He popped a bursar in his elbow, but that’s not as much of an issue as the thumb,” Spagnuolo said. “He will not go (against New England). We’ll see what happens next week.” Feeley is, of course, out for this week's preseason game against the Patriots on Thursday. Rookie QB Sam Bradford, the No. 1 overall pick of the NFL Draft, will get the start in the preseason game.

Feeley a no-go Thursday

(8/22/2010) According to StLouisRams.com, coach Steve Spagnuolo confirmed on Sunday that QB A.J. Feeley can't play in Thursday's preseason game against New England. Feeley injured his thumb and elbow in the first quarter of a 19-17 victory at Cleveland on Saturday night, and was scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on his thumb. He hit his hand on the helmet of Cleveland linebacker Chris Gocong, but shook it off and remained in the game. Rookie QB Sam Bradford, the No. 1 overall pick of the NFL Draft, will get the start in the preseason game. Feeley said after Saturday's game he'd get a little treatment and be ready to go for Thursday, but that doesn't appear likely to happen now.
