News: Raiders WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had two catches for 19 yards Saturday at Kansas City in Week 17. He had two targets in the game.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh is a low-end Fantasy WR in the majority of leagues. He is not worth using in most formats in Week 17 against San Diego.
News: Raiders WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had his most productive game of the season in Week 15, as he grabbed six catches for 52 yards in the Raiders 28-27 loss to the Lions. He caught every pass Carson Palmer threw his way.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has been a total-nonfactor this season. He doubled his catch total for the season in one game. The fact that he had just three catches prior to this game tells you all you need to know about his role in the offense. Despite the minor breakout, Houshmandzadeh is not a viable Fantasy option moving forward.
News: Raiders WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh entered Week 13 with only two catches on the season, but his third one was his biggest. Houshmandzadeh made only one catch in the 34-14 loss to the Dolphins, but it was a 40-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter that ended a shutout.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh had been a non-entity so far this season, but with one play, he did some damage in Fantasy. Unfortunately, Houshmandzadeh is simply not targeted enough to be worth starting in any format. He should remain on waivers or reserves for Week 14.
News: Raiders WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh unexpectedly missed practice with an undisclosed injury on Wednesday, putting his status for Week 12 against Chicago in doubt.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh hasn't been much of a factor since joining Oakland, with just two catches for 35 yards on the season. There was some hope that he would be able to connect with Carson Palmer based on their very successful time together in Cincinnati, however, that has yet to crystallize. The Raiders are dealing with a lot of injuries at the WR position right now, so if he can play, Houshmandzadeh could be in line for some targets in Week 12. However, given the injury and his lack of production, he should remain on the waiver wires in all Fantasy formats until he starts getting targets and catches.
News: Raiders WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not see many passes thrown his way in Week 10 against the Chargers. He was targeted once by QB Carson Palmer, making the grab for 7 yards in the 24-17 win.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has caught just two passes for 35 yards through his first two games with the Raiders as he continues to get used to the offense. He might not stick around long enough to make an impact so keep an eye on his progress going forward. But until he starts proving his worth on the field, continue to ignore Houshmandzadeh in all but the deepest of Fantasy leagues heading into Week 11 against the Vikings.
News:T.J. Houshmandzadeh recorded just 28 yards on one catch in his Raiders' debut and will be going up against a tough pass defense in the Chargers in Week 10. San Diego ranks fourth in the league against the pass, giving up under 192 yards per game, and have allowed an average of 19.5 Fantasy points to opposing wideouts.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh played many seasons with QB Carson Palmer in Cincinnati but considering his decline in production over the last few years, it is going to take some time for the two to get on the same page again. Keep an eye on his progress going forward to see if he can become more involved in the offense in Oakland. But with a tough matchup in line for Week 10, plan on leaving Houshmandzadeh on the bench in the majority of Fantasy formats against the Chargers.
News: Oakland WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh tallied one catch for 28 yards during the Raiders 38-24 loss to Denver in Week 9. Houshmandzadeh, who was making his debut with Oakland after signing as a free agent last week, reconnected with former teammate QB Carson Palmer and saw four passes in his direction. He and Palmer spent six seasons in Cincinnati together before each joined the Raiders over the past month.
Analysis: In his first outing back with Palmer, Houshmandzadeh could not conjure the magic the two shared with the Bengals when they connected on at least seven touchdowns in three separate seasons. However, its only one game as the two could develop a rhythm quickly, especially with the Raiders limited receiving corps. Fantasy owners should keep track of Houshmandzadeh's progress as he make for a low-end WR option for Week 10 against San Diego.
News: New Oakland WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh said he might be utilized across the middle for his new team during Week 9 against Denver. Houshmandzadeh was signed by the Raiders on Tuesday and reunited with QB Carson Palmer, who played with the receiver for six seasons in Cincinnati. With the (wide receivers) they have, theyre all fast," said Houshmandzadeh, who has not played this season. "But they dont really have a guy who can work the middle of the field and can run routes. So I think I can bring that to the table."
Analysis: Palmer and Houshmandzadeh should have instant chemistry once they hit the field Sunday against the Broncos. In addition to being teammates, the two have worked out each summer in California for nearly a decade, including this year. It will be nice, Palmer said. T.J. and I have a long history together. Denver is surrendering an average of 27 Fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts this season -- second-most in the NFL. Fantasy owners should track Houshmandzadeh's progress Sunday before adding him in most formats.
News: The Raiders have signed veteran WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh on Tuesday after reports came out that coach Hue Jackson had interest in the receiver on Monday. Housh worked out for the Raiders Tuesday and the team signed him shortly thereafter. Houshmandzadeh will be reunited with QB Carson Palmer, who was his quarterback with the Bengals for many years.
Analysis: Palmer to Houshmandzadeh has been a big connection in the past, but we have to wonder about it this time around. The Raiders want Palmer to feel as comfortable as possible, so bringing in one of his former favorite targets is a start. Still, Houshmandzadeh has not been a viable Fantasy receiver in a few years now. We don't expect the numbers he put up during his heyday playing with Palmer. Housh is just a wait-and-see Fantasy option at this time.
News: Raiders coach Hue Jackson said Monday that the team has an interest in free agent receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Jackson said Houshmandzadeh will be in for a workout on Tuesday. If he is signed by Oakland, then he will be reunited with QB Carson Palmer, who Houshmandzadeh played alongside for many years in Cincinnati.
Analysis: It's kind of interesting this rumor is brewing. You have to start to wonder what the Raiders' comfort level is with their new starting QB that they have to bring in a veteran receiver he used to work with just to help him transition. Even if Housh signs with the Raiders, we aren't expecting the numbers he put up during his heyday playing with Palmer. Housh would be a wait-and-see Fantasy option.
News: WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh will try out for the 49ers' vacancy at wide receiver on Tuesday, according to the Sacramento Bee. Houshmandzadeh last played for the Ravens a year ago, catching 30 passes for 398 yards.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh was once a Fantasy stud, even catching 112 passes in 2007, but he's on a steep decline at age 34, which is why he's without a job in the first place. Even if Houshmandzadeh earns a job with the 49ers, he likely wouldn't be a consistent target for QB Alex Smith. You can leave him on waivers in Fantasy.
News: Multiple sources report that the Patriots are set to meet with free agent WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh for a workout on Monday. He is coming off of a down season, hauling in just 30 passes for 398 yards and three scores in his only season as a Raven.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh was once an elite No. 2 WR with the Bengals, but his move to Seattle made him a flex option as his touchdown production fell off considerably. A reunion with Chad Ochocinco may produce some old route combinations, but we don't see it developing into anything to count on with so many other weapons for Tom Brady. Keep an eye on the situation once Houshmandzadeh works out for the team, though we don't recommend selecting him on Draft Day until he proves his worth wherever he ends up.
News: The Carroll County Times reports that WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh hopes to make up for his down season in Baltimore in 2010, which ended with a key drop in a playoff loss to the Steelers. Houshmandzadeh currently is a free agent. "I wish things had ended better," Houshmandzadeh said. "I'm not a guy who drops the ball, but I dropped a ball that really matters. Last year was a really bad year for me on the field. The last two years have been the most disappointing years I've had. I know people will say I can't play no more. If I get to the right team, I'll shock a lot of people."
Analysis: Signed to a one-year contract by the Ravens after being cut by the Seahawks, Houshmandzadeh wasn't accustomed to assuming a complementary role. Playing behind starters Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason, he caught just 30 passes for 398 yards and three touchdowns. Keep an eye on where he lands in 2011, but Houshmandzadeh has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him in all leagues on Draft Day.
News: The Ravens drafted wide receiver Torrey Smith of the University of Maryland in the second round of the NFL draft, giving them a potential slot speedster. With T.J. Houshmandzadeh a free agent this offseason, speculation is that he will not return to Baltimore.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh spent one year in Baltimore in 2010. He finished the regular season with his lowest reception total (30) and yardage total (398) since his rookie year in 2001 and added just three touchdowns. Torrey Smith could do that for them, if not much more. Expect Houshmandzadeh to be on the move in 2011. Keep him off Fantasy rosters.
News: Baltimore WR Anquan Boldin said in an interview with CBSSports.com on Thursday that he hopes the Ravens bring back impending free agent WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh in 2011. "Id definitely love to have T.J. back," Boldin said at his charity event in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Earlier this month, Houshmandzadeh also expressed an interest in wanting to return to the Ravens. Houshmandzadeh spent one year in Baltimore in 2010. He finished the regular season with his lowest reception total (30) and yardage total (398) since his rookie year in 2001 and added just three touchdowns.
Analysis: If Houshmandzadeh does return to the Ravens in 2011 he would be the No. 3 WR again behind Boldin and Derrick Mason. Along with Ray Rice and Todd Heap, there are a lot of mouths to feed, and Houshmandzadeh's skill set has clearly diminished. Keep an eye on where he lands, but Houshmandzadeh would only be worth a late-round flier in deep leagues on Draft Day.
News: WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, scheduled to be a free agent this offseason, told Sirius NFL Radio on Wednesday that he'd like to stay with the Ravens for the 2011 season. "I really, really, really enjoyed my time there," Houshmandzadeh said. "You will never hear me say anything bad about the Baltimore Ravens. It was an unbelievable experience for me. Obviously things didnt go the way I would have liked. But from top to bottom, unbelievable, man, the way they treat you, the way they run things, it is unbelievable. The things you hear about it, about the Baltimore Ravens organization, is true. I couldn't believe the way they treated me and just the way they treat everybody there. It's an unbelievable experience."
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh finished the regular season with his lowest reception total (30) and yardage total (398) since his rookie year in 2001. He will turn 34 years old in late September and his days of being a viable Fantasy option are clearly behind him. Consider him only in the later rounds of deeper 2011 Fantasy drafts.
News: Baltimore WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh tallied three receptions for 38 yards in the Ravens' 31-24 loss to Pittsburgh in the AFC Divisional Round on Saturday. Houshmandzadeh, who was targeted five times by Baltimore QB Joe Flacco, also had the biggest drop of the game. With the Ravens trailing by seven points and facing a fourth-down situation with under a minute in the fourth quarter, the veteran wideout couldn't haul in a pass from Flacco and essentially ending the game for Baltimore. "When the game was on the line, I want my number to be called and it was. And I didn't catch it," Houshmandzadeh said. "That's the moral of the story, the outcome of the game." Houshmandzadeh's 38 yards was his lowest output in his last eight games when he recorded a season-high 79 yards against Carolina in Week 11.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh wasn't the only Baltimore wide receiver to struggle in Saturday's game. The receiving corps of Houshmandzadeh, Todd Heap, Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason combined for just seven receptions and 79 yards against a dominant Steelers defense. During the regular season, Houshmandzadeh finished with his lowest reception total (30) and yardage total (398) since his rookie year in 2001. He will turn 34 years old in late September and his days of being a viable Fantasy option are clearly behind him. Consider him only in the later rounds of 2011 Fantasy drafts -- if he plays next season.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh admits to not having the type of season he envisioned this season, but the playoffs afford him another opportunity to contribute. He will play in his second career playoff game Sunday when the Baltimore Ravens face the Kansas City Chiefs. His only other dive into the postseason came with Cincinnati - five years and two teams ago. "I'm just dying to do anything," Houshmandzadeh said. "Vertical, horizontal, it doesn't matter. Just make some plays, have some fun. At this point, I'm being honest. It doesn't matter. I just want to do my part, period."
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh finished the season with just 30 catches while trying to see looks among a talented group of WRs that included Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason. He managed to snag three touchdowns, including a game-winner against the hated Steelers in Week 4. His only other career playoff game was also against Pittsburgh, and he finished with 25 yards and a touchdown on four receptions. Still, in playoff challenges, Houshmandzadeh should be considered a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh was limited to just two catches for 17 yards in Week 17 against Cincinnati. He was targeted three times in the game.
Analysis: Housh was actually targeted just one fewer time than Todd Heap, the leading target on a day when Joe Flacco threw the ball just 19 times. However, Housh is not a featured receiver behind the likes of Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason and has not been a viable Fantasy receiver all season as a result. Barring a significant role change next fall, Housh will not be worth owning outside of the deepest of leagues in 2011-12.
News: Baltimore WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh got into the end zone in the Week 16 win over Cleveland. Houshmandzadeh connected with QB Joe Flacco in the second quarter from 15 yards out to make the score 10-7 Baltimore, a lead they would never give back. He finished with four catches for 32 yards and the score in the performance. He was targeted four times and caught the ball on each occasion.
Analysis: Housh recorded just his third touchdown of the season in the Week 16 game. He might be too talented to be the Ravens No. 3 receiver, but that continues to be the case as he's behind both Derrick Mason and Anquan Boldin. That isn't going to change heading into Week 17 against Cincinnati. Unless Houshmandzadeh gets into the end zone again, we don't expect a big game from him. He's mostly just a flex option for the final regular-season game.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh was held to one catch for 15 yards Sunday against New Orleans in Week 15. He had four targets in the game. Houshmandzadeh appeared to catch a touchdown in the second half, but he was ruled out of bounds.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh continues to be the No. 3 WR for the Ravens and has minimal Fantasy value. Don't plan on using him in Week 16 at Cleveland even with the favorable matchup. Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason have more Fantasy value than Houshmandzadeh.
News: In preparing for a Week 15 matchup with New Orleans, Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh broke down the Saints' fifth-ranked passing defense (198.6 ypg). "You look at them on tape, and you can't lie," he said. "Their secondary is really good -- fast and athletic. There's a reason why the Saints are good; take a look at them on film." The Saints have been very good against receivers, limiting them to 13.2 Fantasy points per game, which is second lowest in the NFL. They have also given up just four receiving touchdowns to receivers, which is the best mark in the NFL.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh should have never left Cincinnati. Since he left for Seattle prior to the 2009 season he just hasn't been the same option for Fantasy owners. He is now the third receiver in Baltimore behind Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason, and he might be the fifth-best receiving option on the team if you include RB Ray Rice and TE Todd Heap. Clearly, this is not a week to be trusting Housh in Fantasy since New Orleans has clamped down on receivers.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh was not much of a factor in Week 14 against the Texans. Houshmandzadeh was targeted three times in the 34-28 win but finished with just two receptions for 23 yards. He averaged 11.5 yards per reception and had a long of 14 yards in the victory.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has been very disappointing this season and has had a hard time finding his niche in Baltimore's offense this season. He is on pace to post his fewest receiving yards since 2003 and has just two touchdown grabs on the season. Houshmandzadeh is an extremely risky Fantasy play right now and is not a recommended start in Week 15 against the Saints.
News: Coming off his most receptions of the year, Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh will look to keep things going against the Texans in Week 14. Houston ranks last in the league against the pass, allowing over 287 yards per game, and have given up an average of 24.8 Fantasy points to opposing wideouts. In four career games against the Texans, Houshmandzadeh has caught 23 passes for 241 yards.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh had a season-high four receptions a week ago, which tells you all you need to know about his 2010 campaign. While his two touchdown grabs are one away from what he put up a year ago, he is on pace to post his fewest receiving yards since 2003. The move to Baltimore has not worked out the way many Fantasy owners would have hoped, but Houshmandzadeh could be able to do some damage against the Texans and their poor pass defense. Consider the 33-year-old a No. 4 Fantasy WR or flex option in Week 14.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught a season-high four catches in the Week 13 loss to the Steelers ad racked up 20 yards. He was targeted six times on the night. Houshmandzadeh got open looks, but could not break any tackles to rack up more yards.
Analysis: The fact that Houshmandzadeh just notched a season-high four catches should be a red-flag to the remaining 17 percent of Fantasy owners in CBSSports.com leagues that still have him lingering on their roster. The stunning stat should be the final determining factor on at least benching him for the owners who start the former Bengal and Seahawk WR. The Ravens take on the Texans in Week 14 and Houshmandzadeh should not be utilized in Fantasy play.
News: Ravens WR T. J. Houshmandzadeh has been effective against the Steelers -- the team's Week 13 opponent -- throughout his career. As a Bengal, he made 77 catches for 987 yards against the Ravens. He stole the show when the two team's met in Week 4, catching the game-winning touchdown from QB Joe Flacco with less than a minute remaining in the game.
Analysis: Although Houshmandzadeh has had success against the Steelers, including in the October meeting, he remains the third option at WR for Flacco's passes. In fact, he has not managed to haul in more than two passes in each of the last seven games, and has scored just one touchdown in that span. The Steelers have allowed just two WRs to eclipse the 100-yard mark against them, something Houshmandzadeh has not done all season. Consider him to be a last-resort Fantasy option in Week 13, fit for use in only the deepest of leagues as a desperation play.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught two passes for 36 yards in a Week 12 win over the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh is starting to get a little more involved in the Ravens offense lately, but he's still the fourth receiving option in Baltimore behind Derrick Mason, Anquan Boldin and Todd Heap. And when you add solid pass-catching RB Ray Rice, Housh really isn't worth starting in Fantasy play right now. Continue to stash him in deeper formats heading into Week 13 vs. Pittsburgh.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had only 13 catches on the season coming into Week 11, but he made his 14th catch a memorable one. On Baltimore's second offensive play of the game, Houshmandzadeh scored on a 56-yard pass play to open the scoring in a 37-13 Ravens victory. It was also the 600th pass reception in Houshmandzadeh's career. He finished with two catches on the day, both in the first quarter, for a total of 79 yards.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh led the Ravens in receiving yards in Week 11, but that was by virtue of his one big play. He was targeted just twice all afternoon, so Fantasy owners should not expect him to become one of QB Joe Flacco's major threats. Despite the big game, he should only be used as a flex option in deeper leagues going forward.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh has yet to get untracked this season, as he has just 13 catches for 176 yards through nine games. Though the Ravens will face a miserable Panthers squad in Week 11, matters don't look to get better for Houshmandzadeh. The Panthers have the league's fifth-best passing defense in terms of yardage allowed. Houshmandzadeh is getting targeted average of less than four times per game, and this week, he will have a hard time making the most of his few chances.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has no games with 50 receiving yards or more so far this year, and he has been completely shut out twice. Regardless of the matchup, he should ignored in virtually all formats.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh failed to eclipse the 50-yard mark in the Week 10 loss to the Falcons. He has now failed to hit the mark in all nine games this year. Houshmandzadeh finished with two catches for 14 yards, although he was targeted six times by QB Joe Flacco.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has not been able to establish any kind of chemistry with Flacco to this point, and he's looking like a waiver-wire WR in Fantasy play. In Week 11, he will try to get more involved against the Panthers, but they sport a top-10 NFL defense against the pass, so it's not likely. Houshmandzadeh is still a risk to start in any Fantasy format and he should be ignored moving forward.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is coming off of yet another pedestrian receiving effort as the team prepares for the Falcons in Week 10. Houshmandzadeh will have a better opportunity to get off of his slumping play on Thursday night in Atlanta. The Falcons sport the NFL's 26th ranked unit, allowing more than 250 yards per contest. Five different WRs have eclipsed the 100-yard mark against the Falcons.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has yet to eclipse the 50-yard mark this season, and he only has one touchdown. The owners who were waiting for him to get adjusted to the offense surely can't believe he is not producing just because he is relatively new to the team. It's been 10 weeks since he joined the Ravens and he has not seemed to improve just yet. Houshmandzadeh remains a Fantasy risk and should be ignored in most formats.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught two passes for 24 yards in a Week 9 win over MIami.
Analysis: Housh caught an early pass on Sunday and it looked like he might be in for a decent game finally, but he vanished pretty much the rest of the way. Continue to ignore Housh in all but the deepest of Fantasy formats in Week 10 at Atlanta.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh heads into Week 9 against the Dolphins still owned in 23 percent of leagues, despite the fact he has just nine catches for 128 yards this season. Miami ranks smack in the middle of the pack against Fantasy WRs this season, allowing 20.5 points a game to opposing WR corps.
Analysis: Housh has been an unmitigated disaster this season for Baltimore and Fantasy owners, and things shouldn't get any better in Week 9 against a pretty solid Miami defense. Continue to stash the veteran away in just deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh was held without a catch in Baltimore's Week 7 win over the Bills. He was targeted twice.
Analysis: Housh had only nine catches on the season coming into Week 7 and the fact he couldn't add to that on Sunday tells you exactly how small his role in the Baltimore offense is at the moment. The Ravens are off in Week 8, so you might just want to cut your losses with the veteran at this point and look elsewhere for someone with more potential for a second-half impact.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh will try to break out of his early-season funk when Baltimore visits Buffalo in Week 7. Housh has averaged just 21.3 yards a game this season as the third receiver behind Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason, and is basically the fourth target for QB Joe Flacco behind Todd Heap as well.
Analysis: Housh has a mere nine catches this season, which is downright pathetic. Maybe he's lost a step, but he's certainly not worth using in Fantasy play right now, even in the deepest of formats. Only an injury to Boldin or Heap would bring Houshmandzadeh back up the rankings again, so continue to stash him away if you really need to.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught two passes for 24 yards at New England in Week 6. He was targeted the two times he caught the ball.
Analysis: With nine catches on the season and no game with more than three grabs, it's pretty clear that Housh is just a role player for the Ravens. So even though he'll play against the lowly Buffalo Bills in Week 7, a defense that has allowed 11 passing touchdowns through five games to go with 200.0 yards allowed on average, he's just not enticing enough to warrant Fantasy use. With the number of solid receivers who have broken out this year, Houshmandzadeh is more like waiver-wire material than anything else.
News:T.J. Houshmandzadeh will take on the Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Week 6. The Patriots currently rank 28th with 272.2 passing yards allowed per game on average with nine receiving scores given up. But Houshmandzadeh continues to be a little-used receiver in the offense, getting no more than three catches or 49 yards in any game this year with two games with less than 5 yards.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh isn't a safe start even with the Patriots' pass defense woes. Play it safe and look elsewhere for Fantasy help in Week 6.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh couldn't make it two decent games in a row as he was held to just two catches for 24 yards in a Week 5 over the Broncos.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh went for 49 yards and a touchdown in Week 4 against the Steelers, but couldn't repeat anything close to those numbers on Sunday as Baltimore ran RB Ray Rice early and often. Housh will likely continue to put up mostly mediocre numbers with the odd decent game here and there the rest of this season. Use him in only the deepest of leagues as a flex option for Week 6 against the Jets.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh went for 49 yards and a touchdown in Week 4 against the Steelers and will be looking to build on that season-best performance in Week 5 when Denver comes to town. The Broncos rank 16th against the pass this season but have allowed eight scores through the air.
Analysis: Housh hasn't done much overall this season in Baltimore, and is almost the fourth target for QB Joe Flacco behind fellow WRs Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason and TE Todd Heap. Even though Denver has been a disaster in the red zone against the pass and have allowed the seventh-most Fantasy points to WRs this season, Housh should be considered no more than a low-end No. 4 WR or flex option for Week 5 against Denver because he won't be a consistent producer while Boldin and Mason are both healthy.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught just three passes for 49 yards in Week 4 at Pittsburgh, but his final catch was the most important of the game. Houshmandzadeh caught an 18-yard touchdown pass with just over 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give Baltimore a 17-14 win. "I came to Bmore to make a lot of plays," said Houshmandzadeh. "Not to be cocky, but I feel like I should always be the guy."
Analysis: Housh may feel like he should be the guy, but he is definitely not in "Bmore." In fact, he's not even the other guy. He finished behind Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason in targets as will likely be the case often as long as they remain healthy. But Housh showed he still has some big-play ability and he made a heck of a move on Steelers DB Bryant McFadden to get open in the red zone on the touchdown play. Housh should be considered no more than a low-end No. 4 WR or flex option for Week 5 against Denver because he won't be a consistent producer while Boldin and Mason are both healthy.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh has made no secret about his dislike of the Steelers, his Week 4 opponents, dating back to his days as a receiver for the Bengals. "I hated the Steelers because we beat the Ravens a lot more than the Steelers," said Houshmandzadeh. In Week 4, Houshmandzadeh will be looking for his first multi-catch performance of the season against a Steelers defense that has allowed just one receiver to go over 75 yards against them this season.
Analysis: Housh is behind Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason on the depth chart and, for that reason, has only seen 12 passes thrown his way in the first three games of the season. He had just one pass thrown his way in Week 3 against the Browns. Housh has posted five touchdowns in 13 career games against the Steelers, but is currently not in a position where Fantasy owners can expect any kind of consistency out of him. He is a player to avoid outside of the deepest of leagues this week.
News: Baltimore WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh made just one catch in the Week 3 win over Cleveland. That catch came very late in the game. Houshmandzadeh, who went for 4 yards, was only targeted by quarterback Joe Flacco once in the game.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has two catches for 31 yards in three games and is getting less and less looks in the passing game for Baltimore. While Anquan Boldin is thriving, Houshmandzadeh has done next to nothing. That could change later on during the season but will not change Week 4 in Pittsburgh. Houshmandzadeh should not be active Week 4.
News: Baltimore WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh has been targeted by quarterback Joe Flacco 10 times in two games. He has caught one pass for 27 yards and that came Week 1 in New York. Houshmandzadeh went without a catch Week 2 in Cincinnati, where he had the best years of his career. The Ravens come home to face the Browns in Week 3. Cleveland can not hold a candle to the defenses the Ravens have matched against to this point. Houshmandzadeh loves playing the Browns and has seven career touchdown receptions against them, his most against any opponent in the NFL.
Analysis: The last time Houshmandzadeh played against the Browns was in 2008 and he failed to make a catch in the Dec. 21 game in Cleveland. Earlier that season, he had six catches for 50 yards against them. Houshmandzadeh has a nice history against the Browns, but at this point in his career, history is all it is. He has yet to gel in the passing game with Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason seeing the bulk of the catches. We believe he'll have his best game as a Raven Week 3, we just don't think it is enough to warrant using him in Fantasy just yet.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not have a pleasant return to Cincinnati, the place where he had the best years of his NFL career, in a Week 2 loss. Houshmandzadeh, who left the Bengals prior to last season, was booed every time his name was mentioned over the public address system. "I don't think they booed me," he said. "I think they said my name. It's kind of cool that they appreciate when I was here." To make matters worse, Joe Flacco threw six passes his way, but none were completed. 'I thought we should have won," Houshmandzadeh said. "If I do my part we win. Every ball that was thrown my way, I should have made the play."
Analysis: You are probably thinking that Housh tried too hard in Week 2 in his return to Cincinnati and that is why he had such a bad day. But that is not the case. The Bengals did a really good job of shutting down the Ravens' passing game and Housh just couldn't break free. Although, he dropped a few big passes that could have changed the game as well. Oh well. There is nothing he can do about it now. He just has to move forward. Housh has just one catch in his first two games with Baltimore. We chalk that up to the fact he hasn't been in the offense for more than a few weeks and is still building rapport with Flacco. Housh is definitely third on the depth chart behind Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason. He is going to get passes thrown his way, but he is just not the same Fantasy option he was in Cincy. Housh is a risky start heading into Week 3 against Cleveland.
News: WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh has played plenty of games in his career as part of the Ravens-Bengals rivalry. Only this year, he will experience it from the Baltimore side for the first time. Houshmandzadeh travels back to Cincinnati in Week 2 for the first time since leaving the Bengals after the 2008 season to sign a contract with the Seahawks. "I'm kind of eager to see how the (visiting) locker room looks, whether it's nice or different," Houshmandzadeh said. "I don't know how I'm going to feel. Emotions kind of come to you however they may. You can't really control them. But it will very different, to say the least." Houshmandzadeh totaled 507 catches for 5,782 yards and 37 touchdowns in eight seasons with the Bengals. "T.J. had a lot to do with the success of things here," coach Marvin Lewis said. "He's obviously well-loved here. He's a great young man. He's one of the guys who also helped my knucklehead receiver (Chad Ochocinco) I got here to do better."
Analysis: We are sure emotions will probably be running high for Housh as he makes his return to Cincy, but he needs to stay focused after totaling just one catch for 27 yards in his Baltimore debut against the Jets. Granted, he still needs to learn the offense after being a late pickup in the preseason, so view Housh as more of a low-end No. 3/high-end No. 4 Fantasy WR for Week 2. He still has to contend with the likes of Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason and Todd Heap for receptions.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh was targeted four times against the Jets in Week 1 and caught just one pass for 27 yards in the 10-9 win. Houshmandzadeh, who was released by Seattle in the preseason, has at least 900 yards receiving each of the last six seasons.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh did not start the game but saw plenty of playing time and had a nice grab in the win. He will likely start seeing more passes thrown his way once he becomes more familiar with the offense and can develop a relationship with Joe Flacco. He is currently behind Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason on the depth chart so Fantasy owners should consider Houshmandzadeh as a low-end No. option for Week 2 against his former team, the Bengals.
News: Baltimore WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who joined the team this past Monday, is expected to play "a lot" against the Jets, coach John Harbaugh said Saturday. I want to play the whole game, Houshmandzadeh said. "I want to do whatever I can. Im ready." The former Seahawks and Bengals receiver caught six passes for 83 yards in the preseason. In four career games against the Jets, Houshmandzadeh has 15 catches for 135 yards and one touchdown.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh begins his Ravens career against one of the best secondaries in the NFL but will not be the No. 1 threat. Instead, Darrelle Revis will be dealing with Anquan Boldin, leaving Housh possibly open for some yardage. Houshmandzadeh has gained at least 900 yards receiving each of the past six seasons but has averaged just 33.8 yards per game against the Jets. He will be in the mix with Boldin and Derrick Mason for balls in Baltimore and is still learning a new offense. Fantasy owners might want to stay away from Houshmandzadeh during Week 1 and wait until you see how he meshes with the Ravens.
News: Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh enters Week 1 against the Jets having caught six passes for 83 yards in the preseason. After being released by Seattle, the 32-year-old will play with a big armed quarterback in Joe Flacco but faces some stiff competition as New York ranked No. 1 pass defense last season and all they did was bring back Darrelle Revis and add Antonio Cromartie. In four career games against the Jets, Houshmandzadeh has 15 catches for 135 yards and one touchdown.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has gained at least 900 yards receiving each of the past six seasons but has averaged just 33.8 yards per game against the Jets. He will be in the mix with Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason for balls in Baltimore and is still learning a new offense. Fantasy owners might want to stay away from Houshmandzadeh during Week 1 and wait until you see how he meshes with the Ravens.
News:T.J. Houshmandzadeh is embracing his change of scenery with the Baltimore Ravens after officially signing his one-year, $855,000 contract Tuesday. Cut by the Seattle Seahawks' new regime led by Pete Carroll one year after signing a five-year, $40 million contract, Houshmandzadeh has gone from a rebuilding franchise to a Super Bowl contender. "It's refreshing, man, to go from the situation I was in and come here," Houshmandzadeh said. "It's hard to explain because you always want to be optimistic and I'm an optimistic person at times, but it's hard to be optimistic when you know what you're going against. I'm coming to play with guys that are similar to me emotionally, the way they play the game and how they love the game. That's where I need to be."
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh, 32, is intent on proving that he has a lot more football left in him after catching 79 passes last season for 911 yards and three touchdowns. And he wants to prove the Seahawks made a mistake by releasing him last weekend. Seattle still owes him $7 million in guaranteed money for this year. "Me not being there, I can promise you had nothing to do with football," Houshmandzadeh said. "Nobody on that team beat me out. If they're honest with themselves, they know that. If you watch practice, it's obvious. For whatever reason, they did what they did. I'm not going to get to throwing rocks because I just don't want to." You have to love the fact that Housh is going to play with a chip on his shoulder. However, he is still in a crowded receiver rotation with Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason, so he will fight for his touches. The Ravens will play the Jets in Week 1. Housh has 15 catches for 135 yards and one touchdown in four career games against New York. Add that on top of the fact he is learning a new offense and Housh is a tough Fantasy play in Week 1.
News: The Ravens upgraded their receiving corps again by agreeing to terms Monday with T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Houshmandzaheh, a 10-year veteran, was cut by Seattle last week. He signed with the Seahawks as a free agent before the 2009 season and had a team-high 79 catches for 911 yards and three touchdowns. But that deal was signed with Jim Mora as coach and Tim Ruskell as general manager, and both are gone from Seattle. So, too, is Houshmandzadeh, who was in the second year of a five-year, $40 million contract. "The first things that pop out at you about T.J. are that he has been very productive and durable in his first nine years in the NFL," Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said. "Plus, we saw him more than we wanted making a lot of plays against us. We had interest in him a year ago when he first became a free agent before he signed with Seattle."
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh, who will be 33 on Sept. 26, spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Bengals, for whom he twice exceeded 1,000 yards in a season (2005 and 2006), and three times had at least 90 receptions. His 112 catches in 2007 tied for the league lead with Wes Welker of New England. Houshmandzadeh's Fantasy stock bounces back a little bit now that he's landed in Baltimore. He's not going to put up the numbers you might have expected from him in Seattle, but he should be a serviceable reserve once he understands the nuances of the Ravens' offense. Frankly, his presence as a good-handed slot receiver could undermine the production of Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason and Ray Rice, but not at the start of the season. Houshmandzadeh is bench material at this point for Fantasy -- don't start him in Week 1 against the Jets.
News: The Seahawks, as expected, cut WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh on Saturday. The Seahawks signed Houshmanzadeh to a five-year, $40 million contract last offseason, and Seattle did not want to pay his salary for 2010. As a result, Seattle will wind up having paid him $15 million for his one season with the Seahawks. Houshmanzadeh caught 79 passes for 911 yards last season, and he said he played through broken ribs and a hernia. He will look to sign with a new team, and he likely won't be out of work long. Likely replacing Houshmandzadeh in the starting lineup with the Seahawks will be former Detroit first-round draft pick Mike Williams, who played for coach Pete Carroll at USC. Williams will likely start opposite Deion Branch, with Deon Butler and Golden Tate as reserves.
Analysis: We'll see where Houshmandzadeh ends up, and there are already reports the Vikings could be interested to help replace the injured Sidney Rice (hip). This move could actually help Houshmandzadeh if he ends up in the right situation and gets an upgrade at QB over Matt Hasselbeck. Continue to monitor what develops, but Houshmandzadeh is still worth a late-round pick on Draft Day.
News: The NFL Network reports the Seahawks are ready to cut ties with WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh by either trading or releasing him, clearing the way to promote WR Mike Williams into the starting lineup. Houshmandzadeh is in the second year of a five-year, $40 million contract he signed prior to last season.
Analysis: The main reason Seattle wants to dump Housh is because they don't think he is worth all that money. Maybe the Seahawks should have thought about that last season before signing him. The guy did have 79 catches for 911 yards last season. It's just that he found the end zone three times, but it wasn't all his fault. QB Matt Hasselbeck was ineffective because of injuries. Getting out of Seattle might not be so bad for Housh. Some team is likely to take a flier on him and he can still play in the NFL. Keep tabs on his progress, but we still envision Housh being a factor in Fantasy in 2010.
News: NFL.com reports league sources have said the Seahawks have put WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh on the trading block. However, the sources said the market to trade Houshmandzadeh is scarce for the reason Seattle wants to deal him -- money. Houshmandzadeh is guaranteed to earn more than $7 million this season and his value isn't what it used to be after a down season in 2009. Houshmandzadeh, who didn't play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Raiders, seemed unfazed by the trade rumors. "I could care less. It doesn't bother me," he told The Seattle Times. "I knew before y'all knew. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. I don't care. I can't control it. It's kind of out of my control. Like I said, I'm ready for whatever so if it happens -- wherever I go -- I'm going to make it happen, and if it don't happen, I'll be here, and I'll make it happen. That's how I look at it."
Analysis: Sources also said the Seahawks are willing to move Housh because the team likes its young receivers, particularly former first-round pick Mike Williams and rookie Golden Tate. If someone is willing to take on Housh's contract, then he could potentially see a spike in Fantasy value, if he lands in the right situation. Housh didn't have a bad season in 2009, recording 911 yards. But his 79 catches were his lowest total since 2005 and he scored just three times. Seattle also has an aging QB (Matt Hasselbeck) and is in a transition season with a new head coach, so Housh's Fantasy value hangs in the balance. Continue to draft him as a No. 3 Fantasy WR because as of now he is still in Seattle.
News: Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did little in Saturday's preseason game at Minnesota. Houshmandzadeh had two catches for 23 yards, and he was targeted five times.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh will remain the No. 1 WR for the Seahawks this year, and hopefully he won't see many double teams with the additions of Mike Williams and Golden Tate along with John Carlson and Deion Branch. We expect Houshmandzadeh to have a bounce-back year in 2010, and he's worth a mid-round pick in all leagues as a No. 3 Fantasy WR.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh returned to practice Thursday after missing three days while attending to a personal family matter. According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, he called it "a little minor situation."
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh's absence wasn't injury related, so fantasy owners shouldn't be concerned. While his numbers have declined the past two seasons, he's still averaged 87 receptions over the past six years. With the Seahawks drafting OT Russel Okung sixth overall to address a glaring weakness at left tackle, QB Matt Hasselbeck should have a little more time in the pocket, and the passing game should improve. We like Houshmandzadeh as a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR this year.
News: The News Tribune reports that Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who is back at practice after dealing with a hernia this offseason, said Tuesday that he's felt good for a while now, but the coaches and trainers were being cautious in his recovery. He said he expected to be fully functional at the start of training camp. Houshmandzadeh also revealed that he played last season with a series of injuries. "I broke my ribs in the preseason and I played with three broken ribs for, like, the first six games and never said anything," he said. "Then my groin and my stomach started bothering me, and I didn't know what it was. I never thought it was to the extent it was."
Analysis: We expect Houshmandzadeh to bounce back this year and play well, especially now that he's on target for the start of training camp at 100 percent healthy. We like Houshmandzadeh as a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR. He's worth a mid-round pick in all leagues.
News: Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday that receivers T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Deion Branch both returned to practice. Houshmandzadeh returned from offseason hernia surgery, and Branch was back after offseason knee surgery. "This was an exciting day for us to see T.J. get back on the field and Deion get back on the field and catch some balls it's been a long time those guys have been out," Carroll said. "Of course the rehab concern, are they going to make it? Finally at the end of practice, it was great to see these guys get out and with a really good tempo run some routes, which means that they are really on the mend, and I wouldn't be surprised if they can do some work next week. But certainly they're going to be ready to go for camp."
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh should be 100 percent for the start of training camp, and we expect him to have a rebound year in 2010. We like Houshmandzadeh as a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR. He's worth a mid-round pick in all leagues.
News: Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh went on a Sirius Radio program on Wednesday and predicted a big year in 2010. "I think 100 catches, to me, should be the minimum I get this year just because of the offense we're in," Houshmandzadeh said. "I don't feel like last year, I wasn't a priority in the game plan and I was almost so much told that last year. That's just not how it's gonna be." Houshmandzadeh caught 79 passes last season, but he's ready to do more. "And I look forward to that because I'm going to show them that I can do it," Houshmandzadeh said.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh is recovering from offseason hernia surgery, but he should be fine for the start of training camp. We like Houshmandzadeh as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR. He's worth a mid-round pick in all leagues.
News: The Seahawks are expecting top veteran WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh to be back from hernia surgery for the start of training camp in July.
Analysis: This is a good sign that Houshmandzadeh will be ready for training camp, and he should be fine for the start of the season. We like Houshmandzadeh as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR. He's worth a mid-round pick in all leagues.
News: Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh is recuperating from hernia surgery and wasn't a part of the team's minicamp last weekend. Head coach Pete Carroll says Houshmandzadeh's injury had bothered him since the end of last season and did not improve. He says Houshmandzadeh should be back on the field in a couple of weeks. The veteran spent the recent minicamp tutoring second-round draft choice Golden Tate.
Analysis: Perhaps the hernia was part of the reason for Houshmandzadeh's awful stats last year (79 catches for 911 yards and three touchdowns). Regardless, the new coaching regime in Seattle coupled with a slightly brighter outlook among the team's quarterbacks (Matt Hasselbeck and Charlie Whitehurst) give Houshmandzadeh a chance to recoup some of the lost stats he had last season. He's worth drafting as a reserve Fantasy WR and that's about it, but he's got some upside. Draft him with a pick between Rounds 8 and 10 this summer.
News: The Seahawks drafted WR Golden Tate in the second round of the NFL Draft at No. 60 overall. Tate, who was a standout at Notre Dame, has the chance to start this season opposite T.J. Houshmandzadeh with Nate Burleson now in Detroit. Tate's main competition will likely come from Deion Branch and Deon Butler, but we expect Tate to win the job under the new coaching staff for the Seahawks.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh's Fantasy value will remain the same despite Tate joining the roster. We like Houshmandzadeh as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR. He is still worth a mid-round pick in all leagues.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had just three catches for 66 yards Week 17 against the Titans, capping a disappointing first season in Seattle in which he finished with fewer than 90 catches for the first time since 2009.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh was a huge disappointment after coming over from the Bengals in the offseason, scoring only three touchdowns despite his big frame and reliable hands. The possession receiver, who usually ranks among the league leaders in receptions, might not have much opportunity to rebound at age 32, though some improved quarterback play would help. He'll be just a late-round pick in 2010.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not have one of his better performances Week 16 at Green Bay and he was visibly upset during the game. In the second half of the game, the television broadcast showed Houshmandzadeh giving an earful to coach Jim Mora. Housh finished the game with four receptions for 51 yards, failing to score a touchdown.
Analysis: Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck has thrown four interceptions in each of the teams past two games, so that could be a part of Houshs frustrations in his first season with Seattle. He has only three touchdowns on the season and has not scored since Week 9 against Detroit. Houshmandzadeh has been a bust for the most part with Seattle and should only be considered a No. 3 Fantasy option Week 17 against the Titans.
News: Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught seven passes to tie for the team lead in Week 15 in an embarrassing loss to Tampa Bay. He totaled 73 yards in the game and did not score.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has now gone six straight weeks without a touchdown and five straight without a 100-yard game. In fact, this was his best performance of that bunch. He's really proving to be a bust in Seattle and is just a No. 3 Fantasy WR against the third-ranked Packers secondary in Week 16 in Green Bay.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh made four catches for 52 yards in a Week 14 loss at Houston.
Analysis: Housh only has one touchdown in his last eight games and is proving to be pretty much a bust in Seattle. Consider him nothing more than a No. 3 Fantasy WR in Week 15 vs. Tampa Bay.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who had a total of 50 yards receiving over his last two games, had 37 yards on five catches Week 13 against the 49ers. He has less than 40 yards receiving in six of his last seven games.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh had 165 yards receiving at Arizona in Week 10, which disguises how poorly he has played in recent weeks. He clearly isn't a go-to guy for Matt Hasselbeck, who's an inconsistent quarterback to begin with. Houshmandzadeh is no more than a boom-or-bust No. 3 Fantasy WR at Houston in Week 14.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had his worst outing of the season Sunday in a Week 12 win over the Rams. Housh was held to just two passes for 14 yards.
Analysis: Apart from his monster Week 10 outing, Housh has been very disappointing over the last few weeks. He's just a boom-or-bust No. 3 Fantasy receiver and you should be very careful in relying on him during Week 13 vs. San Francisco.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught four passes for just 36 yards in Week 11 at the Vikings. He has failed to record even 50 yards in six games this season.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh was believed to be back in the saddle after getting 165 yards last week, but this outing simply proves that he's a boom-or-bust No. 3 Fantasy receiver. But that said, he'll have a shot at performing well in Week 12 at St. Louis. Consider him for your lineup then.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught nine passes for 165 yards during a Week 10 loss to the Cardinals. His longest reception went for 53 yards and he was targeted 17 times. Houshmandzadeh averaged 18.3 yards per catch.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has had just two 100-yard games in his first season with Seattle and definitely hasn't had the season the team or Fantasy owners envisioned. Still, his Week 10 performance was encouraging and the 17 targets definitely shows Seattle wants to get him the football. Consider Housh a No. 2 Fantasy WR heading into Week 11 against the Vikings. The Minnesota secondary has been vulnerable at times this season.
News: Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh found the end zone for the third time this season on Sunday in a Week 9 win over the Lions. He made six catches in the game, gaining a total of 34 yards. His TD reception came from 2 yards out.
Analysis: Hasselbeck continues to put up pedestrian yardage numbers with the Seahawks, failing to gain more than 40 yards in each of his previous three games. Although he scored, Housh's owners can't be too pleased with his performance Week 9 against a poor Lions defense. Despite poor results of late, he should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy option Week 10 at Arizona.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who signed a $40 million, five-year contract in the spring, has repeatedly proclaimed he wants the ball more in his first season with Seattle. Then Sunday, the NFL's leading receiver over the last three seasons entering 2009 angrily gestured toward QB Matt Hasselbeck to throw the ball with more loft immediately after he tried to zing a hard pass to the tightly guarded receiver while he was one-on-one with a defender near the goal line in the first quarter. The discussion continued at the bench. Both players made gestures but did not appear to be arguing so much as explaining themselves. "You're talking about two great competitors. They were just simply having an animated discussion," coach Jim Mora said. "There was no animosity. You have to remember, these two guys, they've only had seven games together. They're trying to learn each other."
Analysis: Hasselbeck said he thought Houshmandzadeh, who had 92 receptions last season with Cincinnati but has just 35 through seven games with Seattle, knew about an adjustment the quarterback had worked out previously while in a similar situation with Nate Burleson. "That's kind of his demeanor," Hasselbeck said of Houshmandzadeh's fire. "There's no issue there. The issue is, we have to complete more passes." Houshmandzadeh has been nothing but a disappointment in Fantasy this season, but at least the Seahawks are trying to get him involved more. Against the Lions, who have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL, Houshmandzadeh has a chance to perform like a No. 2 Fantasy WR, so consider starting him despite his struggles.
News: Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had four catches for 24 yards and lost a fumble Sunday at Dallas.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh should rebound with a better outing in Week 9 against Detroit. The Lions are among the worst secondaries in the NFL, and Houshmandzadeh should be considered a solid No. 2 WR in all formats.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh totaled four catches for 34 yards during a Week 6 loss to the Cardinals. Houshmandzadeh was targeted nine times and had one of those passes intercepted. He has 31 catches for 359 yards in six games.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh managed 13 catches for 180 yards and two touchdowns in his previous two games and was finally starting to look like a No. 1 receiver for Seattle. We figured he would have kept the momentum churning in Week 6 against the NFL's worst pass defense, but the Cardinals struggled to move the football. Housh and the Seahawks will get a week to regroup before facing Dallas in Week 8. Consider Housh no worse than a No. 2 Fantasy WR.
News: It's not exactly "Give Me the Damn Ball!" that old autobiography by Keyshawn Johnson, the outspoken former Jets receiver. Yet each week, Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh spews more dissatisfaction with his first season with Seattle. "I just got to get these coaches to realize, throw me the ball," Houshmandzadeh said Friday, another variation on a public request he's had for weeks. "Maybe I've said it too much," he said. "I just got to show them now."
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh was the prime free-agent receiver last spring, finally available for king's riches following seasons of 90, 112 and 92 receptions with the Bengals the previous three years - the most in the NFL in that span. He has 27 catches this season, 10th in the league, months after he signed a five-year contract that is believed to be worth $40 million with $15 million guaranteed. That's his fewest receptions through five games since 2005. His first two touchdowns with Seattle didn't come until last week; he admitted he exhaled when they finally came. Housh should be considered a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy option for Week 6 against a Cardinals pass defense that is the worst in the league so far this season.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, coming off a two-touchdown outing in Week 5, will take on the Cardinals in Week 6. Arizona ranks dead last against the pass so far in 2009.
Analysis: His name might be difficult to spell, but it should be a very easy decision to start Houshmandzadeh in all Fantasy formats for Week 6. Use him as a low-end No. 1 or high-end No. 2 WR.
News: Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had a big day Week 5 against the Jaguars, thanks in large part to the return of Matt Hasselbeck. Housh caught five passes in the game and scored twice, racking up 77 yards. His first TD came in the second quarter and went for 34 yards. The second was in the third quarter from 13 yards out.
Analysis: Housh had not caught a TD pass since Week 1, so Fantasy owners have to be relieved that Hasselbeck is back at the helm in Seattle. Housh has only gone for more than 100 yards once this season, but that could change Week 6 as the Seahawks take on a porous Arizona pass defense. Housh is a solid Fantasy option for that game.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh heads into Seattle's Week 5 matchup with the Jaguars coming off his first 100-yard outing since his move to the northwest. Jacksonville ranks a miserable 31st against the pass this season.
Analysis: Housh has a good chance of getting No. 1 QB Matt Hasselbeck back for Sunday's contest, but who knows how much of a benefit that will be as Seneca Wallace was the one who hit the former Bengals WR for his big total in Week 4. Still, Housh has a nice matchup for Week 5 and should be considered a solid No. 2 Fantasy WR.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught eight passes for 103 yards in a Week 4 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Housh sleepwalked through his first three games this season, but benefited from the Seahawks being down big in the second half to the Colts on Sunday. In Week 5, the Seahawks host the Jaguars, and QB Matt Hasselbeck could return to action, which should benefit Houshmandzadeh. You could conceivably consider him a No. 2 Fantasy WR for that matchup.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught just four passes for 35 yards during a Week 3 loss to the Bears. He was targeted nine times, but had a crucial fumble in the third quarter that led to a Chicago touchdown.
Analysis: Housh came into Week 3 battling a back issue, but it wasn't the reason for his poor performance. Houshmandzadeh has been a disappointing free-agent signing for the Seahawks, as he has just 14 catches for 145 yards and no touchdowns in three games. He has the talent to right the ship, so Fantasy owners can't give up, but we do have the right to call him a disappointment this early in the season. The Seahawks play the Colts in Week 4.
News: Seahawks WR Deion Branch (hamstring) and WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back) are both active for Week 3 vs. Chicago. Both players were probable on the injury report.
Analysis: Branch will finally make his season debut for the Seahawks, but we will wait to see what his role is behind Housh and Nate Burleson. The Seahawks are down QB Matt Hasselbeck (rib) in Week 3, so Seneca Wallace will start. Housh remains a viable Fantasy WR, but Branch is merely a desperation start.
News: The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh promised in a conference call on Wednesday that he could beat Bears CBs Charles Tillman and Zack Bowman on Sunday when the two teams meet in Seattle Week 3. "I feel like I'm going to get open every play, every time," Houshmandzadeh said. "But that's not going to be the case. Those guys get paid well. I feel I'm going to win regardless, but I have to be realistic. I feel I'm going to win 95 percent of the time and they can get the other 5." Housh was back at practice on Thursday and Friday after sitting out on Wednesday with a back injury and is considered probable for the game.
Analysis: Hopefully Housh will cash the checks his mouth wrote on Wednesday and he'll put up some bug numbers against the Bears' secondary. However, the Bears' defense is ranked fifth in the NFL with 267 yards per game allowed. Housh may have extra motivation to perform this weekend but the Bears' defensive secondary will likely be equally as motivated. Housh has been disappointing the first two weeks of the season but could break out Week 3. Think of him as a No. 2 Fantasy option for Week 3's contest with Chicago.
News: Seattle wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh will miss another full week of practice with a sore back leading up to Week 3 against Chicago but the team expects him to play again Sunday. He missed practice all of last week as well but played in the game.
Analysis: The Seahawks top receiver had six grabs for 48 yards Week 1 and wasn't much better Week 2 at San Francisco with four catches for 62 yards. Clearly, this injury is bothering him. Still, he expects to be play Sunday so you have to continue to think of him as a No. 2 Fantasy WR with a tough matchup against the Bears.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who had six catches for 48 yards in Week 1, wasn't much better Week 2 at San Francisco. He had four catches for 62 yards. The 62 yards receiving led the team, however.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh got to play only one half with QB Matt Hasselbeck, who left with bruised ribs. Houshmandzadeh isn't much of a yards-per-catch guy, but he should always get plenty of catches and plenty of looks in the red zone, especially with Hasselbeck expected back Week 3 against the Bears. Start Houshmandzadeh as a No. 2 Fantasy WR.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who was able to practice Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday with back spasms, is active for Week 2 at San Francisco. He was listed as probable heading into the game.
Analysis: In Week 1, Houshmandzadeh hooked up six times with QB Matt Hasselbeck for 48 yards. He's not much of a yards-per-catch guy, but he should always get plenty of catches and plenty of looks in the red zone. Start him as a No. 2 Fantasy WR.
News: Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh practiced for the first time this week Friday following back spasms. He is listed as probable and says he will start.
Analysis: You can expect Houshmandzadeh to be active for the 'Hawks, and to help you in Fantasy play. Housh had a pretty bad debut for the Seahawks in Week 1, but it's not time to write him off in Fantasy. The Seahawks' passing attack is expected to be respectable this season so keep Housh active for Week 2 at San Francisco as a No. 2 Fantasy WR.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not practice Wednesday or Thursday because of back spasms. However, the Seattle Post Intelligencer reported on Wednesday that Houshmandzadeh is expected to play Sunday against the 49ers.
Analysis: This injury is not considered serious, so there is no need for Fantasy owners to worry. Housh had a pretty bad debut for the Seahawks in Week 1, but it's not time to write him off in Fantasy. The Seahawks' passing attack is expected to be respectable this season so keep Housh active for Week 2 at San Francisco.
News: Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had a less than impressive regular season debut with Seattle on Sunday in Week 1's game against the Rams. He caught a total of six passes for 48 yards combined. His longest catch of the day went for 9 yards.
Analysis: Housh was a bit sore coming into Week 1's game but still got his fair share of looks from QB Matt Hasselbeck. He is going to likely get lots of attention from opposing defenses but the other Seahawks receivers, mostly Deion Branch and Nate Burleson, will also need to be covered well. The Seahawks' passing attack is expected to be good this season so keep him Housh active for Week 2 at San Francisco.
News: Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh practiced Wednesday after sitting out all last week and Monday to rest what a team spokesman called "general soreness."
Analysis: The Seahawks are anxious to get Housh on the field in 2009 after signing him to a big deal in the offseason. Housh has 90 or more catches the last three seasons and is expected to be the Seahawks' top receiver in 2009. He remains a high-end Fantasy WR and a No. 1 option for Week 1 against the Rams.
News: Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh will make his Seahawks debut on Sunday of Week 1 at home against the Rams. Houshmandzadeh is only player to record 90-plus catches in each of past three seasons and leads the NFL with 294 receptions since 2006.
Analysis: Housh played in Week 2 and 3 of the preseason and caught 10 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns for the Seahawks. It seems he'll immediately be a decent Fantasy option for Seattle with Matt Hasselbeck throwing passes. Hasselbeck is our Fantasy start of the week and that makes his leading wide receiver a top option as well. Treat Houshmandzadeh as a top=end No. 2 Fantasy WR for use in all leagues in Week 1.
News: For the second consecutive preseason game, Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh scored a touchdown, this time in the Seahawks win against Kansas City on Saturday in the third preseason outing. He finished the game with five catches for 60 yards and the touchdown. Last week, in the preseason game against Denver, Houshmandzadeh had five catches for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Analysis: This is a good sign that Houshmandzadeh is comfortable with the new offense in Seattle and has developed a rapport with QB Matt Hasselbeck. We like Houshmandzadeh as a top-end No. 2 Fantasy WR, and he's worth a draft pick as early as Round 4 in all leagues.
News: Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh played well in his second preseason game with the Seahawks on Saturday against Denver. He had five catches for 41 yards and scored a touchdown.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh should fit in fine with the Seahawks as long as Matt Hasselbeck is healthy, and Hasselbeck also played well against the Broncos. Continue to draft Houshmandzadeh as a solid No. 2 Fantasy option worth a pick around Round 4 in all leagues.
News: Seahawks WR coach Robert Prince is still unsure who will grab the two starting spots from the three-way competition among T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Deion Branch and Nate Burleson. "I have three starting guys," Prince said Monday. "If it's up to me, we're starting all three of them." Branch appears to have shaken off the effects of a sore knee that kept him out of three straight practices. The former Super Bowl MVP sprinted deep down the left sideline past FS Brian Russell to make a catch.
Analysis: We fully expect Houshmandzadeh to be in the starting lineup, and it would be surprising if Branch wasn't there with him as long as he's healthy. Burleson, who is also coming back from a knee injury last year, should be the No. 3 WR but still see plenty of playing time. Consider Houshmandzadeh a No. 2 Fantasy option worth a pick around Round 4 in all leagues. Branch and Burleson should be considered late-round fliers since they are injury risks and coming back from injury.
News: The News Tribune reports Seattle WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is having a good offseason in his first year with the Seahawks. The report states: "Houshmandzadeh has picked up the offense well and developed some chemistry with (QB Matt) Hasselbeck."
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh should be fine in his first year with Seattle as long as Hasselbeck remains healthy. It's safe to draft Houshmandzadeh as a No. 2 Fantasy WR with a pick around Round 4 or 5 in all formats.
News: The News Tribune reports new Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh enjoyed his first minicamp with his new team. Houshmandzadeh was the recipient of several, well-thrown balls from veteran QB Matt Hasselbeck as Seattle worked on red-zone offense on the final day of camp Sunday. Houshmandzadeh is developing a nice rapport with Hasselbeck. "I've caught plenty of balls throughout the week, it's just that in the red zone you score touchdowns," Houshmandzadeh said. So that's always fun. And so I just thought it was good."
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has the chance to thrive with the Seahawks and should remain a standout Fantasy WR. If Hasselbeck can rebound from an injury-filled 2008, Houshmandzadeh should be a solid No. 2 Fantasy option worth a pick beginning in Round 4 or 5 in all leagues.
News: According to numerous media reports, including the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Seahawks have come to terms with free agent wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh. The eight-year veteran has spent his entire career with the Bengals, which included a 92-catch, 904-yard performance in 2008. He also hauled in four touchdowns in 15 games. Houshmandzadeh was considered the most sought after free agent wide receiver this year, and his signing with the Seahawks -- estimated to be for five years at $40 million with $15 million guaranteed -- might signal that the club will not draft a receiver with its first-round pick (fourth overall).
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh will become Seattle's top receiver after the team experienced great distress at the area in 2008 due to injuries. He'll form a heck of a triumvirate with Deion Branch and Nate Burleson, and tight end John Carlson will only make things more interesting. Houshmandzadeh got many of his great totals over the years playing alongside Chad Johnson and with Carson Palmer slinging the ball, and that scenario won't play out here. Instead, figure Housh to keep things easy for Branch, Burleson and Carlson, and especially QB Matt Hasselbeck. Houshmandzadeh is a solid No. 2 Fantasy WR worth a pick between Rounds 5 and 7 in drafts this summer.
News: While it's been confirmed that free agent WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is in Seattle visiting the Seahawks, he told ESPN on Friday that the four teams he'd like to play for are the 'Hawks, Giants, Eagles and Vikings.
Analysis: Housh has been a reliable receiver and producer of touchdowns over the course of his career even though he had a let-down season in 2008 (he played most of the season with a former seventh-round pick as his quarterback). Ultimately, expect him to land a massive salary and a prominent starting job. Assuming his quarterback is a good one, he still has 100-catch potential, but no more than around 1,100 yards. Touchdowns could still be solid for him, though, which is why we still like him as a dependable No. 2 Fantasy WR you can steal between Rounds 4 and 6 in drafts this summer. We'd love it if he wound up with the Giants, Eagles or Ravens.
News:The Sporting News reports that WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh will be at the top of the Giants' wish list when free agency starts on Friday. Other clubs reportedly interested in Houshmandzadeh include the 49ers, Dolphins, Eagles, Ravens, Seahawks and Titans.

News: The Bengals have chosen to use their franchise tag on PK Shayne Graham, opening the door for WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh to leave the club without any restrictions. Had the club franchised Housh, they would have been forced to guarantee him a one-year deal worth $9.88 million. Now Houshmandzadeh will be able to test free agency when it opens on Feb. 27. Houshmandzadeh told ESPN.com that he's "90-something-percent sure" he won't re-sign with the Bengals.
Analysis: Teams linked to Houshmandzadeh thus far are the 49ers, Bears, Eagles and Seahawks, and more could jump in once free agency starts. News: The Dayton Daily News reports that WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is training in California as he prepares for the free-agency period. In an interview with the paper, Housh said he does not want to be tagged, and explained why. "It's a lot of money. If you franchise somebody what are you saying about the player? Obviously, you think he is that type of player, and if you think he's that type of player then you're franchising him," he said. "That shows you within itself that, 'OK, we think he's one of the better players and we're going to franchise him.' If that's the case give him a contract like your franchising him. That's how I see it and don't see the franchise thing happening." Houshmandzadeh added that if the Bengals franchise him, he won't show up for offseason workout programs, something that coach Marvin Lewis wouldn't like. He also said he'd be willing to stay with the Bengals if they made some internal changes.

News: Just days after Deion Sanders and Chad Ocho Cinco debated on NFL Network whether or not T.J. Houshmandzadeh wanted to stay in Cincinnati, the star wide receiver made the media rounds on Wednesday in Chicago and Philadelphia and sounded like a receiver willing to test the free-agent market this offseason. On WMVP-AM in Chicago and WPEN-AM in Philadelphia, Houshmandzadeh was diplomatic but definitely talked like he would bolt to a winning club if given the chance. "It's bad, when you don't win. That's just the thing," Housh told WMVP. "When you're not winning games, it's not exciting, it's not fun. You have no hope. You go out there and compete, and it's fun to play football." Later, he told WPEN that he considered his game against the Eagles this year a job interview with Andy Reid. "Philly is a team that consistently wins, consistently have a good offense and I love the way Reid calls plays," Houshmandzadeh said. "I like Philadelphia. ... If the Eagles are interested in me, then I'll be interested in them."
Analysis: Previously, the Seahawks and 49ers were among those showing interest in Houshmandzadeh, who has been a fabulous and reliable receiver and producer of touchdowns over the course of his career. Without considering salary cap ramifications, suitors we consider viable for Houshmandzadeh include: Baltimore, Buffalo, Chicago, Jacksonville, Miami, the New York Giants, Oakland, Philadelphia, St. Louis, San Francisco, Seattle and Tennessee. Of course, there's one more: Cincinnati, and they might keep him with the franchise tag this offseason. Expect him to land a massive salary and a prominent starting job.
News: Let the T.J. Houshmandzadeh derby begin! The veteran wide receiver is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason and has already begun drawing interest -- notably out west. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat speculates that the 49ers are interested in him, as are the Seahawks, according to Pro Football Weekly. Houshmandzadeh led the team with 92 catches for 904 yards and four touchdowns in 2008 and has said he wouldn't mind staying with the club. The Bengals are interested in signing Housh to a long-term deal and don't want to use the franchise tag on the 31-year-old receiver.
Analysis: We think the demand for Houshmandzadeh will be very high this offseason, with the 49ers and Seahawks joining the Bears, Giants, Jaguars, Raiders, Redskins and Titans as possible suitors for his services. Expect him to land a massive salary and a prominent starting job.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who missed Cincinnati's Week 17 game vs. Kansas City, let everyone know his thoughts about being a free agent after this season. "I feel like I don't mind staying here," said Houshmandzadeh, who led the team with 92 catches for 904 yards and four touchdowns. "I would like to stay here, but I don't want to stay here if I get franchised because it's just a one-year deal. I know that, they know that. It's not a long-term thing."
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh's value took a big hit this year when Carson Palmer went down injured. A must-start option to start the year, Housh was barely worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy WR. He will slip in 2009 drafts, but is definitely worth owning and starting in all formats if he stays a Bengal. If he goes elsewhere, his value could change.
News: The Bengals official web site reports that Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back) is inactive for their Week 17 game vs. Kansas City.
Analysis: Houshmanzadeh played in Week 16, but was held without a catch. So, for a second straight week, he will provide their Fantasy owners with zero points. At least this time, we found out ahead of time. Be sure to bench the former must-start Fantasy WR in all formats.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, TE Reggie Kelly, TE Nate Lawrie, WR Glenn Holt, TE Brad St. Louis, FB/TE Daniel Coats, RB Chris Perry and QB Jordan Palmer all dressed for Cincinnati's Week 16 win over the Browns, but failed to record an offensive statistic.
Analysis: The weather really contributed to Houshmandzadeh not catching a ball on Sunday as QB Ryan Fitzpatrick only attempted nine passes. He is the only guy in this list with any Fantasy value.
News: WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is probable for Week 16's game at Cleveland with a hand injury. Housh had only three catches for 19 yards last week and hasn't found the end zone in four games.
Analysis: Housh has not been putting up big Fantasy numbers of late and is not nearly the receiving threat he would be with Carson Palmer at quarterback. Consider him a No. 3 option this week.
News: The Dayton Daily News reported Wednesday that the Bengals may be forced to use the franchise tag at a cost of at least $8 million for 2009 on unrestricted free agent WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh. "I don't know how I can put this," Houshmandzadeh said. "Would I be happy with it? Yeah, because it's a lot of money. But would I be happy with it? No, I wouldn't. I don't know if that makes sense. It's going to be my ninth year. I didn't play (much) my first three, so I look at it as being my sixth year. You just want to know what's going to happen. If you get a franchise, they want to keep you for one year and that's it. It'd be cool, but it wouldn't be cool."
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Houshmandzadeh during the offseason. For now, consider him a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR for Week 16 against the Browns. Hopefully he can earn his paycheck over the final two weeks of the season.
News: WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not practice with a hand injury Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Week 16's game at Cleveland. Housh had only three catches for 19 yards last week and hasn't found the end zone in four games.
Analysis: Housh has less than five catches in three of his last four games and has only four touchdowns on the year. The hand injury may be limiting his performance, but it's not like he was doing all that well before the injury. Consider him a low-end No. 2 option for Week 16 at Cleveland.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh recorded three grabs for just 19 yards in Week 15's win over the Redskins. His long went for nine and he did little else of significance in the game.
Analysis: Housh hasn't exactly set the world on fire lately with no touchdowns in his last four games. He's getting decent receiving stats but has only really played like a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR. We're not sure if his injured hand limited him in Week 15 but do expect better from him in Cleveland in Week 16. He caught six passes for 50 yards the last time the Bengals faced the Browns in Week 4.
News: Cincinnati WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (head) is fine for Week 15 against the Washington Redskins. He's active and starting in the game.
Analysis: Considering the deplorable situation at the QB position in Cincy, Housh is not going to put up the numbers he should be putting up. Consider him a No. 3 receiver for Week 15 against the Redskins.
News: WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh should play in Week 15 against the Redskins and is listed as probable. He practiced in full on both Thursday and Friday.
Analysis: Considering the deplorable situation at the QB position in Cincy, Housh is not going to put up the numbers he should be putting up. Consider him a No. 3 receiver for Week 15 against the Redskins.
News: Cincinnati WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hand) was back at practice in a full capacity on Thursday and looks absolutely healthy for Week 15 hosting the Washington Redskins. He was not able to go on Wednesday but his status was majorly upgraded.
Analysis: Considering the deplorable situation at the QB position in Cincy, Housh is not going to put up the numbers he should be putting up. Consider him a No. 3 receiver for Week 15 against the Redskins.
News: WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not practice on Wednesday with a hand injury. Housh caught eight passes -- to lead the team -- for 75 yards against the Colts in a 35-3 loss Sunday of Week 14. Housh did not score and went for a long of 23 yards.

News: Cincinnati WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught eight passes -- to lead the team -- for 75 yards against the Colts in a 35-3 loss Sunday of Week 14. Housh did not score and went for a long of 23 yards.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has been only mediocre since his 12-catch, 149-yard game four weeks ago against the Eagles. With the QB situation in Cincy, who can blame him? Consider him a No. 3 Fantasy WR heading Week 15 against the Washington Redskins.
News:Fantasy Football Today is reporting that Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is active against the Colts in Week 14's game on Sunday in Indianapolis.
Analysis: Housh's production has really dropped off since Ryan Fitzpatrick has taken over at QB for Carson Palmer. The back injury could slow him down a little this week, but he hasn't done too much this year anyways. Consider him a No. 3 Fantasy WR heading into this matchup.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is listed as probable for Week 14 at Indianapolis. According to The Sports Xchange, Housh said, "I'm excited to play Indianapolis (Week 14). We've got four games to go, and when the season ends, I know I'm going to be bored, just waiting for next year. I like to play football, and I'm not going to jump off the ship when it might seem like it's sinking. We're hurting, but we're going to try to piece together some wins. And get some offense going."

Analysis: Houshmandzadeh returned to a full practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday with a back injury that has nagged him for weeks. He has yet to miss a game due to the ailment. Housh has 81 receptions on the season for 810 yards and four scores, but his production has really dropped since Carson Palmer went out of the lineup with an elbow injury. He really had only one good week with Ryan Fitzpatrick, so consider Housh a No. 3 Fantasy WR heading into Week 14.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back) did not practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 14 at Indianapolis. Houshmandzadeh has dealt with the back injury for a few weeks, but has yet to miss a game.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has 81 receptions on the season for 810 yards and four scores, but his production has really dropped since Carson Palmer went out of the lineup with an elbow injury. He really had only one good week with Ryan Fitzpatrick, so consider Housh a No. 3 Fantasy WR heading into Week 14.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, limited by a sore back in practice this week, caught four passes for a team-high 64 yards Week 13 against the Ravens. He had only 20 yards receiving last week.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has 24 of his 81 catches and 295 of his 810 yards in two monster games this season and has done little in the other 11. His inconsistency on such a poor offense makes him a No. 3 Fantasy WR, but he obviously has a high ceiling week to week. You should probably keep him active for Week 14 at Indianapolis.
News: The Bengals listed WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh as active for Week 13 against the Ravens even though a sore back limited him in practice this week. In his past five games against the Ravens, Houshmandzadeh has 31 catches for 311 yards and three touchdowns, though he has not scored in his past two games against Baltimore.
Analysis: While the Bengals are expected to throw a lot, Houshmandzadeh's recent history against the Ravens suggests a limited plate. He has 50 or fewer yards in each of his last three against the Ravens with 44 yards in their Week 1 meeting -- and that was with Carson Palmer under center. Treat Houshmandzadeh as a No. 3 WR with obvious upside.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh practiced in full Friday, clearing the way for him to be listed as probable for Week 13 vs. the Ravens. Houshmandzadeh has been dealing with a sore back that kept him limited in practice Wednesday and out of practice on Thursday. In his past five games against the Ravens, Houshmandzadeh has 31 catches for 311 yards and three touchdowns, though he has not scored in his past two games against Baltimore.

Treat Houshmandzadeh as a No. 3 WR with obvious upside.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, limited in practice Wednesday because of a back injury, didn't practice at all Thursday as the team prepares for Week 13 against the Ravens. He managed to play with the same injury in Week 12.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh still has a good chance of playing, and the team likely just wanted to give him a day off. Check back to see if he practice Friday, but he looks like only a No. 3 Fantasy WR against a tough Ravens defense anyway.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is ready for the Ravens in Week 13 after last playing Thursday in Week 12 against Pittsburgh. In his past five games against the Ravens, Houshmandzadeh has 31 catches for 311 yards and three touchdowns. He has not scored in his past two games against Baltimore.
Analysis: With Ryan Fitzpatrick still at QB for the Bengals, consider Houshmandzadeh nothing more than a low-end No. 2 Fantasy option. The Ravens have a solid pass defense and should be able to cover Houshmandzadeh like they have done the past two meetings.
News: With fellow starter Chad Johnson deactivated for violating team rules, Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had only four catches -- his fewest since Week 2 -- for a season-low 20 yards Week 12 at Pittsburgh. He was coming off a 12-catch, 149-yard performance against the Eagles.
Analysis: Without Johnson in the lineup to split the Steelers' coverage, Housmandzadeh didn't stand a chance against such an opposing defense. Still, in a season where nothing has gone right for the Bengals, Houshmandzadeh keeps plodding along on pace for another 100-catch season. Keep him active as a No. 2 Fantasy option Week 13 against the Ravens.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, listed on the practice report all week with a back issue, is active for Week 12 at Pittsburgh. He's coming off a 12-catch, 149-yard effort with a touchdown Week 11 against the Eagles.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh also doesn't have to contend for receptions with Chad Johnson, who the Bengals deactivated this week for breaking a team rule. Then again, his loss also makes Houshmandzadeh a bigger target for the Steelers defense. Consider Houshmandzadeh, who had eight catches for 58 yards in his first game against Pittsburgh this season, a No. 2 Fantasy option because of the matchup.
News: Bengals WR Chad Johnson has been deactivated for Thursday night's game against the Steelers for violation of a team rule, reports the team's web site. His 113-game streak will come to an end. The Bengals made the announcement in a team-released statement and said there would be no other announcement until after the game. According to the NFL Network, Johnson got into a fight with a team official. With WR Antonio Chatman on injured reserve, the Bengals are looking at starting Chris Henry or Glenn Holt in Johnson's place. Rookie Andre Caldwell could also get some time after practing Tuesday for the first time since he got injured against the Steelers on Oct. 19.
Analysis: This will now leave Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh as the lone threat in the receiving game since Henry, Holt and Caldwell aren't that good. Consider Houshmandzadeh, who had eight catches for 58 yards in his first game against Pittsburgh this season, a low-end No. 2 Fantasy option at best with Johnson out.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back) is listed as probable for Week 12 at Pittsburgh. He practiced in full all week after coming off a a 12-catch, 149-yard effort with a touchdown Week 11 against the Eagles.
Analysis: Housh has just two 100-yard games this season, but it hasn't been because a lack of trying. QB Carson Palmer has been injured for most of the season and Housh just hasn't been getting a lot of downfield looks until recently as Ryan Fitzpatrick has gotten more comfortable under center. The Steelers pose bit of a problem defensively Week 12, so view Housh as a No. 2 Fantasy WR. He had eight catches for 58 yards in his first game against Pittsburgh this season.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh was listed on the club's practice report Tuesday with a back problem, but he practiced in full and is considered probable for the team's Week 12 game at Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh caught eight passes for 58 yards in Week 7 against Pittsburgh but is coming off one of his most productive games of the season, a 12-catch, 149-yard effort with a touchdown. Even with the Steelers posing a threat, Houshmandzadeh works as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR, especially in leagues where receptions count.
News: Cincinnati WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh matched his season high with 12 catches for 149 yards in Week 11's tie game against Philadelphia. Housh also caught his first touchdown since the beginning of October when he had two against Dallas.
Analysis: Housh has only had two big games this season, but it hasn't been his fault with the quarterback issues in Cincinnati. While he's still a solid starting Fantasy QB in most formats, you shouldn't expect too much. The Bengals play at Pittsburgh on Thursday in Week 12 and Housh is a No. 2 Fantasy WR for that game.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh led his team with seven catches for 65 yards in a Week 9 win over the Jaguars. Housh was averaging 6.8 catches and 64 yards a game coming into Sunday.
Analysis: Housh has only had one big game this season, but it hasn't been his fault with the quarterback issues in Cincinnati. While he's still a solid starting Fantasy QB in most formats, you shouldn't expect a monster game out of him the rest of this season. The Bengals are off in Week 10, so be sure to bench Housh in all formats.
News: Cincinnati WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh once again led the team in receiving in Week 8 against the Texans but once again he didn't score or find 100 yards. He totaled eight catches for 54 yards and also rushed once for nine.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has eclipsed the 100-yard mark just once this season and hasn't done so in his past five games. He's got just two touchdowns in that span and just three on the year total. He is still a primary target with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback, but he just isn't getting many downfield chances. Consider Housh a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR Week 9 against Jacksonville's stout defense.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (ankle) is active and starting in Week 8 at Houston. The receiver has yet to miss a game this season.
Analysis: Housh has 15 catches in his last two games, but has just 107 yards and no touchdowns. He is still a primary target with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback, but he just isn't getting many downfield chances. Consider Housh a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR Week 8.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (ankle) is listed as probable for Week 8 at Houston. He practiced in full the last two days after sitting out Wednesday. Houshmandzadeh has yet to miss a game this season.

News: After not practicing at all on Wednesday, Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (ankle) was able to practice in full on Thursday and is expected to play in Week 8 at Houston.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has yet to miss a game this season and with the Bengals struggling as it is, we knew he'd be fine to play in Week 8 at Houston. Housh has been able to produce in point-per-reception leagues even with starter Carson Palmer injured, but he has not had many big yardage games. In fact he's had just one 100-yard performance this season. Still, he remains the top receiving option in Cincy and is a great red zone target. That makes him worth starting in any league for Week 8.
News: Cincinnati WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not practice on Wednesday with the Bengals and is listed as questionable for Week 8 at Houston with an ankle injury. "T.J. (Houshmandzadeh) is a little sore right now with the ankle," coach Marvin Lewis said at Wednesday's press conference.

News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught eight passes for 58 yards in Week 7 against Pittsburgh. His longest catch went for 19 yards and he was targeted 10 times.

News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who had been listed as questionable on the injury report with an ankle injury, is active and will start in Week 7 against Pittsburgh.
Analysis: The Bengals will be without Caron Palmer against the Steelers and that is far worse news for Housh than his injury. In two games with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Houshmandzadeh has combined for 13 catches for 99 yards and no touchdowns. Treat Housh as a risky No. 1 Fantasy WR Week 7.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 7 vs. Pittsburgh. Houshmandzadeh returned to a full practice Friday after limited reps Thursday. He didn't practice at all Wednesday.
Analysis: The Bengals will be without Caron Palmer against the Steelers and that is far worse news for Housh than his injury. In two games with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Houshmandzadeh has combined for 13 catches for 99 yards and no touchdowns. The catches are a nice number, but the yards and lack of touchdowns are alarming for a No. 1 Fantasy option. Houshmandzadeh has played well against the Steelers recently with 30 catches for 349 yards and five touchdowns his past five meetings, but Pittsburgh is No. 3 in pass defense and should be ready for Houshmandzadeh and the Bengals coming off a bye week. Treat Housh as a risky No. 1 Fantasy WR Week 7, if he is active.
News: Bengals leading WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh was limited in practice on Thursday with an ankle injury. Houshmandzadeh was upgraded after not being able to practice at all on Wednesday. He's questionable for Week 7 against Pittsburgh. He's expected to play in the game, however.
Analysis: The Bengals will be without Caron Palmer against the Steelers and that is far worse news for Housh than his injury. With Ryan Fitzpatrick tossing passes, Houshmandzadeh is probably in line for no more than 40-to-60 yards receiving. He remains a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR against the Steelers.
News: An ankle injury kept Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh sidelined for Wednesday's practice.
News: Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer will miss another game because of his sore elbow on his right (throwing) arm. Coach Marvin Lewis said Monday that Ryan Fitzpatrick will start against the Steelers on Sunday, giving Palmer another week to rest his right elbow. Fitzpatrick has 308 passing yards in three games (two starts) with one touchdown, failing to connect with any receiver for more than 70 yards in a single game.
Analysis: This is more bad news for T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson, both of whom have angered Fantasy owners with their mostly poor play. Adding to their woes is the matchup vs. Pittsburgh in Week 7 which won't help their stats much, especially with the Steelers blitzing Fitzpatrick left and right. Consider Houshmandzadeh and Johnson both candidates for 40-to-60 yards receiving without much of a chance of scoring (maybe one between the two of them). Consider other options before going with either receiver since expectations will be low for both of them.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught a team-high seven passes for 49 yards during a Week 6 loss to the Jets. He was targeted eight times by QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and his longest reception went 13 yards.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh was coming off a two-touchdown game against the Cowboys, but during the week the news broke that Fitzpatrick would start at QB for the injured Carson Palmer (elbow). Even though he had seven catches, Fitzpatrick didn't get to throw down the field much. Palmer is off to get his elbow checked out, and if it comes back bad news, then Houshmandzadeh's takes a hit as well. He remains no worse than a No. 2 Fantasy WR at this time, but he can be a No. 1 guy when Palmer is healthy. The Bengals play the Steelers Week 7. Housh had 12 catches for 123 yards and one score in two games against Pittsburgh last season.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is normally an attractive Fantasy option, but a big part of that is because Carson Palmer is throwing him the ball. The official team web site reports that Palmer will not start Week 6 at the Jets with a right elbow injury, making Ryan Fitzpatrick the starting quarterback for the club on Sunday, his second start of the year. Houshmandzadeh caught six passes for 50 yards at home against a woeful Browns secondary in Fitzpatrick's first start.
Analysis: This is awful news for Houshmandzadeh, whose play had perked up in the last two games he played with Palmer. Fitzpatrick isn't a very good quarterback, and his lack of ability will leak into Houshmandzadeh's stat line. Dial down the expectations for Houshmandzadeh and figure him to play like a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR.
News: The Dayton Daily News reports that a league source said the 49ers have expressed some interest in acquiring Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh before the Week 7 trade deadline. According to the report, 49ers offensive coordinator Mike Martz would like to upgrade at the wide receiver position. Roy Williams is also allegedly on the 49ers' radar. Both players are scheduled to be free agents after the season.
Analysis: In San Francisco, Houshmandzadeh would be expected to eventually post the kind of stats he's delivered in Cincinnati (high receptions, moderate yardage, high touchdowns), but it would take time as Mike Martz's offensive system is complicated and Houshmandzadeh has no experience playing in it. Before any deal for Houshmandzadeh would happen, the team getting him would likely want a long-term contract in place first. Unlike Major League Baseball and the NBA, trade-deadline deals don't happen much in the NFL, so a deal involving a player of this magnitude would be a surprise. We'll keep our ears pressed to the ground, but for now figure that Houshmandzadeh is a good starting option at the Jets in Week 6.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught seven passes for 85 yards to lead Cincinnati against the Cowboys in Week 5. Quarterback Carson Palmer hit Housh for touchdowns of 10 and 18 yards in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has 25 catches for 281 yards and three touchdowns in his last three games alone and since Carson Palmer appears healthy again, he's a must-start in all leagues in Week 6 against the Jets.
News: After two mediocre weeks to start the season, Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh has 18 catches for 196 yards and a touchdown the last two weeks. Cincinnati is headed to Dallas in Week 5 and the Cowboys have not been very good against the pass this season, allowing four TDs and zero interceptions.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh could still be without starter Carson Palmer, who missed Week 4's game, against Dallas. That would hurt his value since he figures to be much more in sync with Palmer. Still, he's Cincinnati's No. 1 option and that makes him a must-start in all Fantasy leagues. Housh is worth starting as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy WR in Week 5.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had six catches for 50 yards Sunday against the Browns. Houshmandzadeh was playing with a backup QB with Ryan Fitzpatrick replacing the injured Carson Palmer (elbow).
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh will likely continue to struggle if Palmer is out for an extended period of time. Keep an eye on Palmer's status, but for now consider Houshmandzadeh a No. 2 Fantasy option in Week 5 at Dallas.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh averaged just 35 yards receiving over the season's first two weeks but busted out for 146 yards and a touchdown in Week 3, even with the Bengals struggling through the air. In Week 4 Cincinnati hosts Cleveland, who is ranked 18th against the pass allowing 202 yards per game. Housh caught 10 passes for 84 yards and three touchdowns last season in two games against the Browns.
Analysis: The numbers add up to Housh having another solid week for his Fantasy owners in Week 4. The Bengals will have a better passing attack and Houshmandzadeh will get his due. Consider Housh a must-start Fantasy receiver once again for Week 4 against Cleveland.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had a breakout performance in Week 3 at the Giants, catching 12 passes for 146 yards. He also caught a 17-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, which was the Bengals' first passing touchdown of the season.
Analysis: Housh came into Week 3 with exactly three catches in each of his previous two games with no more than 44 yards in either game. But the Bengals pass offense looked to be a whole lot more productive in Week 3 against a tough Giants defense, which is a good sign. Chad Johnson still didn't look to be his normal productive self, but the Palmer-Houshmandzadeh connection was flourishing even against double and triple coverages. Consider Housh a must-start Fantasy receiver once again for Week 4 against Cleveland.
News: Bengals QB Carson Palmer will face the Giants in Week 3 at Giants Stadium. The Giants have allowed the third fewest passing yards of any defense that has played two games so far this season. They've allowed 258 yards (129.0 average) through the air and two touchdowns. They've recorded seven sacks (tied for third) and one interception.
Analysis: This isn't exactly what the doctor ordered for Cincinnati's struggling passing game. Palmer has the league's lowest passer rating at 37.1 with three interceptions and only 228 yards total and T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Ocho Cinco have combined for 11 catches and 129 yards in two games. Consider Housh a low-expectation start in Week 3, but he remains too talented to reserve in most formats. In the NFL, it can all change from one week to another.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had only three catches for 26 yards in a loss to the Titans in Week 2. Through two games, Housh only has six catches for 70 yards.
Analysis: The Bengals are a complete mess right now and Housh is killing his Fantasy owners with his lack of production so far. Still, he remains a valuable Fantasy WR and should start in most formats Week 3 at the Giants. Just don't get your hopes up for a breakout game against the tough New York defense.

News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hamstring) was able to start Week 1 against the Ravens. However, the Baltimore secondary did a good job bottling up the wideout and limiting him to three catches for 44 yards. Houshmandzadeh's longest reception went for 24 yards.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh opened the 2007 season with nine catches for 50 yards and one touchdown against Baltimore. The results weren't the same in 2008 as he could never really get on the same page with QB Carson Palmer. Houshmandzadeh had a touchdown in each of the first eight games in '07 and already can't match that feat in '08. He is still a valuable Fantasy WR and should start in most formats Week 2 against the Titans. Housh had seven catches for 66 yards against Tennessee last season.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hamstring) is active and starting Week 1 against the Ravens. He went through full practices all week and was just listed as probable on the injury report.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has scored touchdowns in four of his last five games against Baltimore and had 15 catches for 95 yards in his last two games against them. Consider him a must-start in all Fantasy formats.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is probable for Week 1 at Baltimore. He is expected to start. Houshmandzadeh practiced in full all week.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has scored touchdowns in four of his last five games against Baltimore and had 15 catches for 95 yards in his last two games against them. Consider him a must-start in all Fantasy formats.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh will face the Ravens in Week 1. He has scored touchdowns in four of his last five games against Baltimore and had 15 catches for 95 yards in two games against them last season.
Analysis: When healthy, Houshmandzadeh is a must-start in all Fantasy formats. So while this historical information is nice, you didn't waste a third- or fourth-round pick on the guy to have him sit on your bench. Start him and hope he can rack up the catches just like last year.
News: In what is most likely a precautionary measure, the Bengals held receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh out of Thursday's preseason finale against the Colts.
Analysis: The Bengals are likely saving Houshmandzadeh for the start of the regular season, which makes sense since he's their most reliable, and most healthy, receiver they have left. He'll be motivated because he's in a contract year, and he should continue to rack up touchdowns and high-reception totals (but not necessarily 100-yard games) so long as his hamstring lets him. We still like him as a low-end No. 1/top-end No. 2 Fantasy WR.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh missed most of training camp and the first three preseason games because of a hamstring injury, but is expected to play against the Colts in Thursday night's preseason finale. Coach Marvin Lewis hasn't decided how long he'll be in the game. Houshmandzadeh said his hamstring felt good after his first back-to-back practices. "My body is saying that I'm fine," Houshmandzadeh said. "I knew that, but I just had to make sure of it. I felt good. I knew I would, but there is always doubt with something like that."

News: According to the team's official web site, Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is mum on the status of his hamstring, but it's because he's not sure when he'll be at 100 percent, if at all. "Honestly, I think you never know when you're ready to play. That might sound weird, but with a hamstring, you always feel it so you don't know if what you're feeling is something you're going to feel, or if it's something you have to pay attention to." He insists he's not sandbagging because he's in a contract year, and he's added that he and head coach Marvin Lewis are at odds over when he can get back on the field.

News: Bengals WRs Chad Johnson (shoulder), T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hamstring) and Andre Caldwell (foot) were all out for Saturday's preseason game against the Saints.
Analysis: The three above receivers should enter the regular season as the No. 1, 2 and 3 options for the Bengals so it was a shame that they couldn't play Saturday to get some work in with Carson Palmer. Johnson and Houshmandzadeh are both high-end Fantasy receivers with Housh a No. 1 and Johnson a high-end No. 2. With the Bengals signing Chris Henry, Caldwell will probably only be the No. 3 guy for a short time while Henry is out on suspension and that makes him only worth a middle-round choice in rookie drafts. He should be left alone in regular formats.
News:Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said he wants to see WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh practice before he deems him ready to play with his bad hamstring. "I think T.J. needs more time than he thinks he needs," Lewis said. "I think for T.J. there's more to it. Things change; things have changed. When you're not out there and doing it, things move within the snap of the football, so it's important T.J. gets some snaps going and gets going here."
Analysis: The Bengals are being a little cautious early in the preseason with Housh. We should only start to worry if this injury lingers as we get close to opening kickoff. Continue to draft Housh as a No. 1 Fantasy WR worth a pick in Round 4.

Analysis: The three above receivers should enter the regular season as the No. 1, 2 and 3 options for the Bengals so it is a shame that they can't be healthy for Saturday's game to get some work in with Carson Palmer. News: The Bengals have been without Pro Bowl WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh since the first week of training camp when he tweaked a hamstring, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer. Houshmandzadeh said he is improving every week and that he would be ready Sept. 7 for the season opener.
Analysis: The Bengals are being a little cautious early in the preseason with Housh. We should only start to worry if this injury lingers as we get close to opening kickoff. Continue to draft Housh as a No. 1 Fantasy WR worth a pick in Round 4.
News:T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hamstring) will miss a second straight preaseason game with a strained hamstring Sunday against the Lions. Houshmandzadeh did not play in the preseason opener Monday against the Packers.
Analysis: The Bengals are being a little cautious early in the preseason with Housh. We should only start to worry if this injury lingers as we get close to opening kickoff. Continue to draft Housh as a No. 1 Fantasy WR.
News: The Bengals official team site reports that wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who was inactive for Monday's preseason opener against the Packers, isn't worried that the passing game has struggled and he's spent little time practicing while returning from injuries. "We have a lot of weapons. With me, Chad, (Ben) Utecht, Chris Perry, you've got a lot of guys to choose from," he said. "Yeah, the passing game has looked a little different. But I figure when I get out there, things will change. I could be wrong, but I figure once I get out there it won't be like that."
Analysis: "I know where I need to be when I need to be there," Houshmandzadeh said. "When you're not practicing, you watch practice, you watch the tape and you try to learn from what others guys are doing wrong. The only thing will be Carson [Palmer] feeling my movements again. We've worked so much, it's not a problem. I've just got to get used to tight coverage again and get my conditioning right." So there ya have it, folks. Don't worry about T.J. Once the games start, he promises to be his old self. Continue to draft Housh as a No. 1 Fantasy WR.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh was inactive for Monday's preseason opener against the Packers. He came into the game doubtful as he dealt with a minor hamstring pull.
Analysis: The Bengals are being a little cautious early in the preseason with Housh. We should only start to worry if this injury lingers as we get close to opening kickoff. Continue to draft Housh as a No. 1 Fantasy WR.
News: According to the official team site, Cincinnati wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh doesn't look good to play in Monday night's preseason opener at Green Bay with a hamstring pull.
Analysis: It doesn't sound like Houshmandzadeh will be out for long, but keep an eye on his progress. Look for Houshmandzadeh to be one of the best receivers in the NFL this year. Consider him a No. 1 option and a solid pick starting in Round 3 of all drafts.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is still out of practice, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer. Houshmandzadeh "still has a sore leg," offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski said. "It's very much preventative. We want to make sure we don't rush him out there and put him in a situation where it turns into a long-term thing, which could affect opening day."

News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh took off practice Wednesday, reports the Dayton Daily News. "T.J. had a little soreness in one of his legs, and so we thought it would be best (to sit him out) because we're trying to prevent injuries," offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski said. "This is the time in camp where you get the (pulled) hamstrings, and if someone like him starts to get a little sore, we're going to rest him and make sure it doesn't go into something that's long-term."

News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh wants to be better in 2008 than he was in a Pro Bowl season in 2007 in which he tied with New England's Wes Welker for the NFL lead with 112 receptions. "I'm cool, the same thing, man," Houshmandzadeh said in the Cincinnati Enquirer when asked about his goals for 2008. "It's not going to change. You have to come out here every year and at least try to do better. You never want to do the same." Houshmandzadeh also isn't worried about the uncertainty of becoming a potential unrestricted free agent after this season. This year is the last of his four-year contract, and no serious talks of an extension have been held recently. "It doesn't bother me one bit," he said of his contract status. "If it happens it happens."
Analysis: In addition to Houshmandzadeh's 112 receptions, Chad Johnson had 93 in 2007. It will be hard to approach those stats this season. Coach Marvin Lewis has said the Bengals will re-emphasize their power run offense with a beefed-up Rudi Johnson and a healthy offensive line. Houshmandzadeh isn't worried. "We focused on running the ball last year," he said, "and for whatever reason, we got away from it, whether it was getting behind or not being as effective as we would have liked. We'll still throw the ball." Look for Houshmandzadeh to be one of the best receivers in the NFL this year. Consider him a No. 1 option and a solid pick starting in Round 3 of all drafts.
News: The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh participated in the offseason program Thursday for the first time. Houshmandzadeh, who prefers to work out in his native California, looked rusty. Houshmandzadeh is entering his eighth season, the last covered in his four-year contract. There have been no talks on an extension between his agent and the Bengals, he said. "Don't worry about the contract year," Houshmandzadeh said when asked about his approach to the 2008 season. "I'm going to go out there and I'm going to get better, like I have. Since the Bengals have given me a chance to play, I've gotten better every year. And I'm going to get better this year."
Analysis: This could be a big year for Housh since Chad Johnson is unhappy about his contract and could be a malcontent. Look for QB Carson Palmer to focus on Housh, who had a career season in 2007 with career-highs in catches (112), yards (1,143) and touchdowns (12). Consider Housh a low-end No. 1 Fantasy option in 2008.
News: The Bengals might need to run more in 2008. Coach Marvin Lewis has said he wants to rely less on the passing game and more on the ground attack, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer. The Bengals had just four wide receivers - Antonio Chatman, Doug Gabriel, Glenn Holt and Marcus Maxwell - on the field at Tuesday's minicamp. Rookie players, including second- and third-round picks Jerome Simpson and Andre Caldwell - can't report for offseason practices until Friday. The Bengals will have two more practices without the rookies but a total of nine more beginning next week and continuing at a pace of three a week until June. Starters Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not attend the voluntary practice Tuesday. Johnson said he will not report, though he has four years remaining on his contract. Houshmandzadeh is doing his offseason training at home in California, which he did a year ago. "We're definitely missing valuable time," QB Carson Palmer said. "We'll get to work whenever they get here. ... The guys who are here are getting valuable experience."
Analysis: As expected, Johnson and Houshmandzadeh will remain absent, possibly until or including training camp. That will hurt Palmer heading into 2008, although not much. Still consider Palmer a No. 1 Fantasy option and one of the top quarterbacks this season. Housmandzadeh is a No. 1 WR, especially heading into a contract year. Johnson has slipped to a No. 2 option and could continue to slide if he is serious about being a holdout.
News: WR Chad Johnson skipped the start of the Bengals' offseason workouts Monday, the latest move to show he's unhappy with how he's perceived in Cincinnati. Johnson said in interviews last week that he is skipping the voluntary workouts to reinforce his message that he'd like to play somewhere else. The Bengals have said repeatedly that they have no intention of trading him. T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who tied for the NFL lead in receptions with 112 last season, also is skipping the voluntary workouts for the second straight year. Houshmandzadeh is spending the offseason in California with a personal trainer.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh is entering the final year of his contract, so look for him to try to make a stand in attempt of getting a long-term deal. Hopefully he will show up to training camp and put up another solid season, but we'll have to wait and see what develops.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh set career-highs in catches (112), yards (1,143) and touchdowns (12) in 2007. The catches tied with New England's Wes Welker for the NFL lead this season. Houshmandzadeh has established himself as a top wide receiver in the NFL and earned a trip to the Pro Bowl.
Analysis: Housh continues to get better every season. He should be considered a No. 1 option heading into 2008 and one of the top players taken at the position in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught nine passes for 90 yards as Cincinnati finished their season with a 38-25 win over the Dolphins in Miami, but dropped the ball late in the fourth quarter with a chance to overtake Wes Welker for the NFL catches lead with 113. Instead, he finished tied with the Patriots WR.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh overshadowed teammate Chad Johnson and his celebrations this season with his monster performance on the field. The Bengals had a chance to get Housh the catch title with less than 30 seconds left, but Marvin Lewis did the right thing and told Carson Palmer to take a knee. Expect great things from Houshmandzadeh again next season, especially if Palmer's play improves.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (ankle) had a full practice Thursday and Friday after missing it altogether Wednesday. The team lists him as probable for Week 17 against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh leads the league in catches and should start in all Fantasy leagues if the injury doesn't hold him out. We don't expect it will.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh missed practice Wednesday because of an ankle injury. The Bengals visit the Dolphins in Week 17.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh leads the league in catches and should start in all Fantasy leagues if the injury doesn't hold him out. Keep track of his progress as the week unfolds.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had two catches for 25 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Browns.
Analysis: Housh is a No. 1 Fantasy option and should be in line for a solid game in Week 17 at Miami.
News: The Weather Channel and CBS folks on the scene in Cincinnati report that flurries are expected to join strong, blustery winds that will impact the Browns-Bengals Week 16 game. Winds are expected to be between 21 and 33 m.p.h.
Analysis: Think twice before starting Browns and Bengals quarterbacks and receivers (and kickers) as the wind will play havoc with the ball (remember last week's Browns game?). Likewise, expect a lot of work from the Browns and Bengals' running backs this week.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh leads the league with 101 catches and has four touchdown receptions in his past three games vs. Browns, the Bengals' opponent in Week 16. In their Week 2 meeting, Housh caught two scores.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh could see his targets limited by some less-than-desirable weather on Sunday in Cincy, but Carson Palmer simply loves throwing him the ball and he should still get a few catches on Sunday. Consider him a high-end No. 2 Fantasy WR in Week 16.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh continued his statistical tailspin Week 15 at San Francisco, catching five passes for only 62 yards. After opening the season with 11 touchdowns in his last 10 games, he now has zero in his last four.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh's yardage has also slipped, as he hasn't gone for 100 since Week 6 at Kansas City. The good news is he broke 100 receptions and 1,000 yards receiving Saturday, but Fantasy owners don't care so much about seasonal milestones. Keep him active for a potentially high-scoring game Week 16 against the Browns, but generally don't think of him as a No. 1 Fantasy WR anymore unless he gets back on track.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh leads the league with 96 catches and needs 34 yards in Week 15 at San Francisco to reach 1,000 for the second consecutive season. He has gone three games without a touchdown, however, after scoring in eight straight to start the season.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh ranked sixth among wide receivers among Fantasy winning percentage this year, as teams he was part of won 53.7 percent of the time. He is especially useful in points-per-reception leagues and ranks as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy WR in Week 15.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had a team-high eight catches, but only for 52 yards vs. the Rams in Week 14. He also had an 8-yard rush.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has not scored in three straight games and might be suffering from a myriad of injuries. The matchup is right in Week 15 at San Francisco, and he could snap his skid against a weak Niners D. Go with Houshmandzadeh next week as a low-end No. 1/top-end No. 2 WR.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back) is listed as probable for Week 14 vs. St. Louis. He went through full practices Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Houshmandzadeh, who has yet to miss a game this season, usually sits out one practice per week to rest a sore knee. After scoring in each of his first eight games in 2007, Housh has scored just once in his last four contests and averaged less than 10 yards per catch in three touchdown-less games.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh gets the Rams in Week 14 at home, a team giving up 11.3 yards per completion. St. Louis also has allowed 17 passing touchdowns this season and at least two passing scores in four of their last six games. The only home game Housh didn't score in was vs. Tennessee in Week 12 (Chad Johnson's three-touchdown game). Don't fear Houshmandzadeh's stats based on last week, when he played in a mud pit and couldn't run at full speed. Expect a nice rebound game from him and the rest of the Bengals. Consider Houshmandzadeh a solid No. 1 Fantasy WR for Week 14. Don't worry about the minor knee nuisance.

News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh went without a touchdown for the second straight game Week 13 at Pittsburgh. He caught five passes for only 42 yards.
Analysis: After catching at least one touchdown pass in his first eight games this season, Houshmandzadeh has now gone without in three of his last four. Still, you don't bench a guy with 11 scores on the season -- not if he's healthy and playing. Expect him to rebound in a big way Week 14 against the Rams.
News: The Steelers didn't list WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh among their inactives for Week 13 at Pittsburgh, meaning he'll suit up and play. He had missed some practice time this week with a back injury, but the team had listed him as probable.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has fought off injury this season to remain in the active lineup and produce big-time numbers. Despite the tough matchup, he remains a No. 1 Fantasy WR.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back) is listed as probable for Week 13 at Pittsburgh. He went through a full practice Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Houshmandzadeh, who also has been bothered by a knee injury this season, has 83 catches for 872 yards and 11 touchdowns in 11 games.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh has fought off injury this season to remain in the active lineup and produce big-time numbers. He is not expected to miss Week 13, and despite the tough matchup, still remains a No. 1 Fantasy WR.

News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had seven catches for 66 yards vs. Tennessee in Week 12. This was only his second game without a touchdown this year, but his second in three weeks.
Analysis: Despite these low numbers, Houshmandzadeh remains a reliable Fantasy option when he plays at Pittsburgh in Week 13.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back) is listed as probable for Week 12 vs. Tennessee. He went through a full practice Friday after sitting out the previous two days. The back injury flared up on Houshmandzadeh during Week 11 against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Housh has dealt with a few injuries this season, but has yet to miss a game. It doesn't appear that trend will stop Week 12. Consider Housh a nice start in all Fantasy formats. He has 76 catches for 806 yards and 11 touchdowns this season.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not practice Thursday as he is dealing with a sore knee suffered in Week 11 vs. Arizona. At this point, he is considered questionable for Week 12 action.
Analysis: Continue to monitor Houshmandzadeh's status prior to setting your lineup for Week 12 against Tennessee. He would be considered a No. 1 option if healthy, but the fact that he's missed two practices is not a good sign.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not practice Wednesday as he is dealing with a sore back suffered in Week 11 vs. Arizona. At this point, he is considered questionable for Week 12 action.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh's status shouldn't be a worry until Friday -- if he doesn't practice then, there's a shot he may not be ready for the game against Tennessee. We will keep close tabs on Housh's progress throughout the week; if he's healthy, he's a must-start Fantasy option in Week 12 against a depleted Tennessee defense.
News: According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh left Sunday's game against Arizona late in the fourth quarter with a hip injury. He said he was going to have it checked after the game. He finished with eight catches for 87 yards and one touchdown, pushing his season totals to 76 receptions for 806 yards and 11 TDs.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh is a No. 1 WR, so hopefully he is healthy and can play in Week 12 against the Titans. Continue to monitor his status and see what happens before setting your lineup.
News: After seeing his eight-game touchdown streak end in Week 10, Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh started a new streak in Week 11 when he opened the scoring by catching a score in Cincinnati's 35-27 loss to the Cardinals in Week 11. He finished the game with eight catches for 87 yards.
Analysis: Housh might see his catch totals diminish slightly with the return of Chris Henry from suspension, but he loves to catch touchdowns, which are Fantasy owners' favorite things. He remains a must-start No. 1 Fantasy WR for Week 12 against the Titans.
News: In Week 11, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and the Bengals host the Cardinals in what should be a classic shootout between two teams with strong offenses and suspect defenses. The Cardinals pass defense ranks 10th in the NFL and have allowed just three 100-yard receiving games this season (Deion Branch, Santonio Holmes, Steve Smith). The Cardinals have allowed 11 passing touchdowns this year. Away from the desert, Arizona's been pretty good against the pass, but there's a reason for it: Arizona has played four of five road games against the 49ers, Ravens, Redskins and Buccaneers -- four teams with limited pass offenses. When Arizona played at St. Louis, a pass-oriented team with Gus Frerotte at quarterback, the Rams threw three touchdowns.
Analysis: With the Bengals' passing offense taking a break last week, look for Cincinnati to bounce back at the expense of the Cardinals, who gave up two touchdowns last week to the Lions at their place. Houshmandzadeh remains a must-start No. 1 Fantasy WR in all Fantasy formats.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had six catches for 45 yards against the Ravens on Sunday. He didn't score a touchdown for the first time all season.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh will look to find the end zone again in Week 11 against Arizona. Consider Housh a No. 1 Fantasy option.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (knee) is listed as probable for Week 10 at Baltimore. He went through full practices Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Houshmandzadeh's 15-yard touchdown reception Week 9 against the Bills was his 10th of the season -- a career single-season high -- and gives him eight consecutive games with at least one.
Analysis: After eight games, the midpoint of the season, Houshmandzadeh has 62 receptions for 674 yards and the 10 touchdowns. Those numbers project to 124 catches for 1,348 and 20 touchdowns. Carl Pickens had 17 touchdowns in 1995 and 100 total receptions in 1996, both team records. He was bothered by a knee injury early in the season, but hasn't missed a game. He is a No. 1 Fantasy WR and should be started in all leagues in Week 10 against the Ravens. It appears as though he will be on the field.

Analysis: Housh continues to perform at an elite level this year, despite the struggles of his team. He is a must-start WR every week and has a great chance to extend his scoring streak against the Ravens in Week 10.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh has already tied his single-season high of nine touchdown catches that he set last season after scoring against the Steelers on Sunday. He is on pace to have 133 receptions for 1,439 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh is a great start in Week 9 against Buffalo. He's one of the best WRs in the NFL right now and should never be benched.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had seven catches for 81 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Steelers. He has now scored a touchdown in every game this season and has nine overall.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh is a great start in Week 9 against Buffalo. He's one of the best WRs in the NFL right now and should never be benched.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh heads into Cincinnati's Week 8 matchup with the Steelers seeking his seventh consecutive game with a touchdown catch.
Analysis: In his last six meetings with the Steelers, Housh has averaged 5.5 catches a game for 63 yards, but only caught two touchdown passes with both coming in one game. Despite his average stats against Pittsburgh, Housh is our fifth-ranked WR in Week 8 and a must-start in all formats as he is a touchdown machine.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had four catches for 43 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Jets.
Analysis: Housh has played like a No. 1 WR and should be considered that in Week 8 against Pittsburgh.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had eight receptions for 145 yards Sunday against Kansas City - his third consecutive 100-yard game, a career first - and two touchdowns. With 47 catches, he is on pace to shatter the Bengals' single-season franchise record of 100 receptions by Carl Pickens in 1996. At this pace, Houshmandzadeh would break the NFL record of 143 catches by Indianapolis' Marvin Harrison in 2002. Houshmandzadeh's seven touchdown catches in five games - he scored from 42 and 30 yards against the Chiefs - leave him just two from matching his personal best of nine in 2006.
Analysis: He is a No. 1 option and one of the best WRs in Fantasy leagues this year. Continue to start him every week, and the Bengals play the Jets in Week 7.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh blew up for two scores on eight catches and 145 yards receiving Week 6 at Kansas City. The first score came from 42 yards out in the first quarter and the second from 30 in the fourth.
Analysis: The Bengals lost, but Houshmandzadeh's Fantasy owners don't care. The seventh-year wideout has seven touchdowns this season and is a bona-fide Fantasy stud. Start him every week regardless of the matchup, but the Bengals have a good one Week 7 against the Jets.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh heads to Kansas City in Week 6 as he aims to record three straight 100-yard receiving games for the first time in career. He has also scored a touchdown in all four games this season.
Analysis: The Chiefs secondary is pretty stellar, but the potential return of Rudi Johnson will surely help Housh and his fellow WR Chad Johnson in Week 6. We consider Housh a top-three Fantasy WR this week and is a must-start.
News: T.J. Houshmandzadeh posted 10 receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown in Week 4 against the Patriots, as he was basically the only offensive player for the Bengals to do much of anything in the 34-13 loss.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh leads the Bengals with five touchdown receptions in 2007, scoring in every game this season. He remains a must-start in all Fantasy leagues for Week 6 at Kansas City, but you'll need a replacement in Week 5 when the Bengals have a bye.
News: The Bengals didn't list WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh among their inactives for Week 4, meaning he'll suit up and play against the Patriots.

Analysis: Housh has scored in every game this season and is racking up the stats playing alongside Chad Johnson. The Bengals have limited Houshmandzadeh in practice every week this season, but has always been able to play on Sunday. Expect the same in Week 4. He is a must-start Fantasy WR.

News: T.J. Houshmandzadeh had 12 catches for 141 yards and a touchdown at Seattle in Week 3. Housh added a fumble and three yards on the ground. He has scored in every game this season.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh can only continue to be a must-start Fantasy option, including when the Bengals play vs. New England in Week 4.
News: For the third straight week with the same exact injury, the Bengals listed WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (knee) as probable for Week 3 at the Seahawks. He had full practice both Thursday and Friday.
Analysis: More importantly, the Bengals plan to lean on Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson at Seattle by first using the running game to draw a safety forward. Housh could have a big game. Then again, he always has big games. He remains a top-10 receiver in any format. Don't let the injury concern you as it has yet to slow him on a Sunday this season.
News:The Sports Xchange says WRs Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh could have a big day at Seattle in Week 3 if, as planned, the Bengals attack with RB Rudi Johnson between the tackles, drawing a safety forward in run support, which will leave Seattle's undersized cornerbacks exposed.
Analysis: After his 209-yard output in Week 2, Johnson leads the NFL in receiving yards and could have another monster day in Week 3 against the Seahawks. The game could turn into a shootout to match the Bengals/Browns game last week and that will only benefit Johnson and Houshmandzadeh. Both are top-10 Fantasy WRs every week.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (knee) did not practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 3 at Seattle. However, he returned to a full practice regimen on Thursday.
Analysis: Housmandzadeh has been mentioned on the injury report every week this season, but he continues to play like a healthy WR. The team is just limiting his workload early in the week to make sure he is a full-go for Sunday. Housh is off to a great start with three touchdowns in 2007. He might be a No. 2 WR in Cincy, but he's a No. 1 in the Fantasy world.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught eight passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns in the Bengals' 51-45 loss to the Browns in Week 2. His first touchdown was reviewed, but the play stood.
Analysis: Housmandzadeh has been mentioned on the injury report the past two weeks, but he continues to play like a healthy WR. His first touchdown was reviewed and looked questionable on the replay, but the referees somehow missed the call and gave him the score. Either way, Housh continues his domination of the Browns and remains a must-start for the Bengals' Week 2 trip to Seattle. He may be a No. 2 WR in Cinci, but he's a No. 1 in the Fantasy world.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (knee) is listed as probable for Week 2 at Cleveland. Houshmandzadeh went through a full practice routine for the second consecutive day on Friday.
Analysis: Houshmandzadeh shook off a knee injury to catch nine balls last week against the Ravens, including a touchdown grab. Housh did not practice Wednesday, but went through a similar routine Week 1 and managed to suit up. It's rare for a No. 2 receiver to be as highly-ranked as Housh, but with Carson Palmer chucking the ball around, he has great value as a No. 1 Fantasy receiver. Continue to track his progress, but barring any setbacks, he should be ready for Week 2.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (knee) returned to a full practice routine Thursday as the team prepares for a Week 2 showdown at Cleveland. He did not practice Wednesday. At Cleveland last year, Houshmandzadeh caught seven passes for 79 yards and a touchdown (his only game against the Brownies). He has scored in his last two and has four TD in his last four. He does not own a 100-yard game against the Browns.

News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had a strange game statistically Week 1 against the Ravens. He caught nine passes for 50 yards, including a touchdown.
Analysis: Owners in points-per-reception leagues love this. Everyone else just kind of shrugs. Houshmandzadeh didn't set the world on fire with his average yards per reception, but he had a decent game against a stout Ravens defense. Really, you can't complain anytime one of your players scores a touchdown. Consider Houshmandzadeh a No. 1 Fantasy receiver, particularly in Week 2 at the hapless Browns.
News: The Bengals didn't list WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh on the inactive list for Week 1 against the Ravens. He'll suit up and play Monday night.
Analysis: Get Houshmandzadeh in your lineup in all leagues.
News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (knee) is listed as probable for Week 1 vs. Baltimore. Houshmandzadeh went through a limited practice routine Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday.
Analysis: The Bengals have an extra day to prep since they play on Monday. There was no need to rush Housh onto the field earlier in the week. He appears ready for action. In nine career games against the Ravens, Houshmandzadeh has 55 catches for 784 yards (14.3) and five TDs, an average of 6.1 catches per game and 87.1 yards per game. The Ravens present a tough matchup, but Housh seems to do well against Baltimore. Continue to track any late breaking news, but it appears safe to consider Housh a No. 1 Fantasy WR for Week 1.
News:The Sports Xchange reports Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, coming off his first 1,000-yard receiving season, draws the matchup of the Ravens secondary in Week 1. With Chad Johnson working the other side of the field, Houshmandzadeh has hurt Baltimore badly. In last season's Cincinnati victory at Paul Brown Stadium, he led all receivers in catches (10) and yards (106), and his 40-yard touchdown catch from Carson Palmer provided the eventual winning points. News: Bengals WR Chad Johnson sat down to watch film of the Oakland Raiders' cornerbacks and was surprised by what he saw. "They are blanketing everybody they play, everybody they play," Johnson said Wednesday. Johnson is not usually quick with compliments for opposing cornerbacks, instead preferring to engage in cross-country trash talking whenever he can. But he has plenty of respect for Oakland's Fabian Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha for being able to shut down opposing receivers while playing mostly man-to-man defense.
