News: Former Bills DE Aaron Schobel is officially retiring, according to multiple reports Monday. "I really didn't have a lot of fun playing last year," Schobel said. "The passion wasn't there, so it was time. I took as much time as I felt like I needed to make the decision, and I think I made the right one."
Analysis: Keep an eye on Schobel in case he changes his mind since several teams were after him once the Bills let him go. But he should only be drafted with a late-round pick in deep IDP leagues if you're expecting him to return. We expect him to retire, so the safe option is to pass on Schobel in 2010.
News: The Bills have released top pass-rusher Aaron Schobel, giving him the option to sign with another team or retire. General manager Buddy Nix announced the decision Wednesday afternoon after he spoke with the player earlier in the day. Nix calls the move "the fair thing to do," and notes that the nine-year NFL veteran has still not made up his mind about his future. Nix's decision comes two days after announcing the Bills were moving on without the linebacker, who had spent the offseason contemplating retirement.
Analysis: We've heard rumors that he's considering playing in Houston, where he'd work in a rotation. That could be good for his sack numbers but little else statistically. Keep him limited to a late-round pick as a Fantasy DL unless he can land in a spot where he can play regularly.
News: The Bills issued a press release Monday stating that the team is "moving forward with plans that do not include LB Aaron Schobel." The veteran has been mulling retirement, though some think he's unhappy about converting to a linebacker position in the Bills' 3-4 scheme. Schobel was previously an incredible defense end. "Aaron has been contemplating retirement for the past seven months, but we are at the point where we are moving forward and have informed his agent of our plans," GM Buddy Nix said in a statement. "Aaron has been a very good player for the Bills and we wish him and his family the best, but there comes a point where we have to move forward and that point is today. We are focusing on the team's best interests." Nix later added that the Bills would not release Schobel.
Analysis: Schobel's future remains up in the air, but it doesn't include Buffalo. We'll keep you posted on this, but naturally Schobel cannot be considered a useful Fantasy option.
News: The Bills are opening training camp with Aaron Schobel on the Reserve/Did Not Report list while the veteran defensive end contemplates retirement. The move was announced Thursday, shortly before the team's first practice in suburban Rochester. Schobel did not report for the start of camp and has missed all of the team's offseason practices. Earlier this week, the nine-year NFL veteran says he's leaning toward playing, but won't make a decision until mid-August. The Bills are holding the door open in the event Schobel decides to play.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Schobel's decision and if he decides to play this year. If he's able to play this season then Schobel would be considered no worse than a No. 3 DL in IDP leagues worth a late-round pick.
News: Bills DE Aaron Schobel is now considering playing one more year after spending the offseason contemplating retirement. That doesn't mean Schobel's made up his mind yet. Speaking by phone from his home in Texas on Wednesday, Schobel said that he intends to reach a decision by the middle of August. He says he began having a change of heart over the past month as the NFL season drew closer. Schobel is a nine-year veteran, whose 78 career sacks rank second on the team behind Hall of Famer Bruce Smith. Schobel says he's not spoken with the Bills, who have left the door open for his return even as they prepare to open training camp in suburban Rochester on Thursday.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what Schobel decides, and hopefully he does return. If he's able to play this season then Schobel would be considered no worse than a No. 3 DL in IDP leagues worth a late-round pick.
News: Bills head coach Chan Gailey said following his team's last spring workout that he's willing to wait until training camp for LB Aaron Schobel to decide whether or not he's going to play this season, but that's as long as he'll wait. "We would like to have had him here but he chose not to and he's got a tough decision in his life to make and we understand that," Gailey said. "It's not like we don't understand, we do understand. He'll have a lot of catching up to do when he gets here. ... [T]here's a natural [deadline]. Training camp gets here and you go from there."
Analysis: Signs are pointing to Schobel retiring. He didn't come to any of the Bills' offseason camps and is way behind in getting adjusted to the team's 3-4 scheme. Maybe he's angling for a trade out of town? Either way, he's not worth taking in IDP league play at this point.
News: DE Aaron Schobel, who is leaning toward retirement, was the only player not excused from attending the Bills' mandatory minicamp session in late June. GM Buddy Nix declined to say whether the team will fine Schobel for not being present.
Analysis: We're not sure whether or not Schobel will play, which makes him a risky Fantasy choice at this moment. And if he does return, he might play as an outside linebacker and not a defensive lineman because the Bills are moving into a 3-4 scheme. Schobel's best Fantasy days are probably behind him.
News: Bills DE Aaron Schobel is likely retiring, according to multiple reports. "At this point, I don't think I'm going to play," Schobel told the Buffalo News on Thursday. While Schobel is "leaning toward not playing," he also said that he's not officially retiring right now in case he changes his mind down the road. He did say he has no intention of coming to the team's mandatory minicamp, which starts on June 23. Losing Schobel would give the Bills a significant hole in their pass rush as they switch to the 3-4. Buffalo drafted Aaron Maybin in the first round in 2009, but he has been a disappointment thus far in his career.
Analysis: Continue to monitor Schobel and what he decides to do. If he returns to the Bills this year he would remain a must-start Fantasy option in IDP leagues. If he retires then he obviously should not be drafted in any format. The Bills DST, which is a No. 2 Fantasy option, would take a hit without Schobel.
News:Aaron Schobel is in no rush to collect his $2 million roster bonus because the Bills defensive end still hasn't decided on whether he'll come back for a 10th NFL season. The two-time Pro Bowl player was due the roster bonus on Tuesday, but there's a provision in his contract that he must first pass a physical. Schobel failed his end of season physical because of an elbow injury, which was surgically repaired this offseason. Schobel told The Associated Press by phone Tuesday that he's "not stressing over the money," or in any hurry to travel to Buffalo to take a mandatory physical because he's not yet made a decision on his future.
News: Buffalo DL Aaron Schobel had a monster game Week 16 in a loss to Atlanta. Schobel finished with four tackles and three sacks. He added two forced fumbles.
Analysis: Schobel now has 54 tackles, 10 sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles on the season for the Bills. Signed through 2013, Schobel's 78 career sacks rank second on the team list behind Bruce Smith. He remains a useful No. 2 Fantasy DL for Week 17 against the Colts.
Signed through 2013, Schobel's 75 career sacks rank second on the team list behind Bruce Smith. He remains a useful No. 2 Fantasy DL for Week 17 against the Colts.
News: Bills defensive end Aaron Schobel is contemplating retirement, saying he's going to go home after the season before making a decision. The 32-year-old said he fears he's slowed down in his ninth NFL season since being selected by the Bills in the second round of the 2001 draft. A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Schobel is having a solid year in which he leads the team with seven sacks, his most since registering a career-best 14 in 2006. "I don't know my future really, what I'm going to do," Schobel told two reporters, including The Associated Press, following practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Signed through 2013, Schobel's 75 career sacks rank second on the team list behind Bruce Smith. He remains a useful No. 2 Fantasy DL for Week 16 at Atlanta.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel recorded a sack, his seventh, Week 13 against the Jets. He also had eight tackles, including five solo.
Analysis: Schobel's seven sacks have come in seven different games, so he's fairly consistent for a defensive lineman. He's back to putting up big sack totals after a couple of down years, so treat him as a No. 2 DL in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (groin) was activated for Week 10 at Tennessee. He had been listed as questionable on the injury report.
Analysis: Schobel is a good low-end No. 1 Fantasy DL when healthy. Keep him active in any IDP format while he is healthy enough to play.
News: Bills starting DE Aaron Schobel said he expects to play against Tennessee after he hurt his groin in a 31-10 loss to Houston last weekend.
Analysis: Schobel is a good low-end No. 1 Fantasy DL when healthy. Pencil him in for now for Week 10 action.
News: Buffalo DL Aaron Schobel exited the Week 8 game against Houston with a groin injury in the 1st half. Schobel did not return and finished the game with three tackles and a sack.
Analysis: Schobel has been a major part of the Buffalo defense this season and is a No. 1 Fantasy DL in IDP leagues when healthy. Hopefully he can make it back in time for Week 10 at Tennessee. The Bills have a bye Week 9.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel, who hadn't recorded a sack since Week 4, finally got back on board Week 7 at Carolina with his fourth sack of the season. He also had three tackles, two solo.
Analysis: Schobel missed much of last season due to injury, but he's an accomplished sack master who's worth using as a No. 1 DL in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel totaled four tackles (three solo) and one sack during a Week 4 loss to the Dolphins. He had two tackles for loss in the game.
Analysis: Schobel now has a sack in three of four games this season. Playing in Buffalo, Schobel doesn't get a lot of publicity. However, he has developed into one of the premier pass rushers in the NFL. Schobel remains a must-start Fantasy DL.
News: The 23-13 loss to the Saints in Week 3 spoiled a solid effort by a Bills defense that managed to rattle Drew Brees, sacking him twice, including one on which Aaron Schobel stripped the quarterback of the ball to end a scoring threat early in the second quarter. Schobel, who finished with two tackles, recovered the fumble.
Analysis: Schobel now has two sacks in three games, as well as an interception, touchdown, fumble forced and fumble recovery. He continues to showcase as one of the best ends in the NFL and remains a must-start Fantasy DL.
News: Bills starting left defensive end Chris Kelsay practiced Friday for the second straight day and should be ready for the Bills home opener. Kelsay bruised his knee in Buffalo's season-opening loss to New England, and missed Wednesday's practice. Starting right defensive end Aaron Schobel returned Friday after sitting out Thursday's practice because of a sore back, and is also probable for Sunday's game.
Analysis: Good news for both players, and for their Fantasy owners. Consider Schobel a solid No. 1 DL option for this game while Kelsay remains a reserve option. They should both be busy as the Bucs will likely run the ball a lot.
News: WKBW.com reports that Bills DE Aaron Schobel did not participate in practice on Thursday due to a back injury. However, Head Coach Dick Jauron does not expect the injury to be a long-term issue.
Analysis: Schobel was on the injury report on Wednesday but was able to participate fully in practice. Hopefully he didn't tweak his back too badly practicing on Wednesday and the Bills are just being extra careful with him. Scohbel is a top pass rusher when healthy, so be sure to monitor him in IDP formats leading up to Week 2's game against the Buccaneers.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (back) went through a full practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 2 vs. Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Schobel had a pick and touchdown in Week 1 against the Patriots. This injury isn't expected to keep him sidelined, so keep Schobel active in all Fantasy IDP leagues. He is a top pass rusher when healthy.
News: Buffalo DE Aaron Schobel had one of the best defensive games of his career on Monday night in a loss to the Patriots. Schobel intercepted a Tom Brady pass in the first half of the game and rambled 26 yards for a touchdown. He also picked up a sack in the game and had 2 tackles.
Analysis: Schobel is a high-end Fantasy option in IDP leagues for his ability to rush the quarterback but he showed a lot of athleticism on the interception and TD return. He has great ability and should be a No. 1 option in Week 2 against Tampa Bay.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (elbow) did not play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Lions. He missed the last two games, but is expected to play in the regular-season opener against the Patriots.
Analysis: There was no need to risk further damage to Schobel's elbow and that was a big reason why he was held out the final two preseason games. He is a good pass rusher and capable of being a No. 1 Fantasy DL.
News: Buffalo DE Aaron Schobel sat out of Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers with an elbow injury. He is considered questionable for the team's upcoming preseason game against the Lions.
Analysis: Schobel was expected to miss Saturday's game against the Steelers, so his absence isn't newsworthy. He is expected to be fine for the start of the regular season and should be considered a No. 1 DL in IDP formats on Draft Day.
News: Bills defensive end Aaron Schobel will miss at least a week with an injured left elbow. The team's top pass rusher did not practice Monday in Buffalo's first session since a 31-21 loss at Green Bay on Saturday. Without divulging the nature of the injury, coach Dick Jauron said it's not considered a "long, long-term" problem, but could keep Schobel out for a week or so. The Bills have two preseason games left and next play at Pittsburgh on Saturday.
Analysis: Schobel is coming back from a foot sprain that limited him in 2008. The last thing Fantasy owners need is him getting hurt and not performing well again. Consider him a No. 1 Fantasy DL at this point, but be wary that he could under deliver this season if he can't stay healthy.
News: Buffalo Bills defensive end Aaron Schobel admits he's getting old, but the Bills would love to just have the old Schobel back. "It's just so good to have him," head coach Dick Jauron said. "That skill level is impossible to teach. You can't teach a guy some of the things that he does so naturally and that top pass rushers do so naturally. So it's nice to have him back on the field and working to get ready for the season." Schobel wasn't on the field very often last year for the Bills. The former Pro Bowl pass-rushing specialist sustained a serious foot injury that limited him to just five games. Schobel never missed a contest in his first seven years in the league. His return to Pro Bowl form is paramount to the Bills' defense, which last season amassed only 24 sacks, fourth-fewest in the league. With his gruff exterior in tow, Schobel, the second-leading sack producer in team history, has worked harder this training camp because of the lost time. The extra load has burdened him with some overall soreness, but the 31-year-old has shrugged it off in aiming to reproduce his impressive 2006 campaign, in which he recorded a career-best 14 sacks. "In my legs I don't feel as explosive as I was two years ago at this time, but I feel like there's no question I can do that," he said. "I just have to get back into it. It's like anybody. I'm as good right now as I was two years ago at this time, and I don't feel like I've lost any speed or any quickness. I feel like it takes me longer to warm up."
Analysis: Schobel has dropped the quarterback for a loss just 7.5 times in 21 games the past two seasons after racking up 45.5 sacks during a four-year period starting in 2003. When he's healthy, Schobel is a fine Fantasy DL. But owners will shy away from him this offseason because of the foot sprain. It's a risk-reward situation and one that bears watching. Consider Schobel a middle-end No. 2 Fantasy DL at this point with obvious potential to play like a No. 1.
News: Bills DE Aaron Schobel won't need surgery for the Lisfranc sprain he suffered on his left foot this season, the official team Web site reports. Schobel will continue to take care of his foot but will otherwise spend his offseason as he normally would. "I've just got to get ready to play," said Schobel. "In my mind it's about 90 percent. I can still feel it. It's not like the other foot where I never feel it and just run normal. But I could play with it right now if I had to. As long as it's stable even if there's just a little bit of pain then I've got to deal with that."
Analysis: Schobel is glad he didn't have surgery, which would have sidelined him for six months and surely put a damper on his offseason routine. Then again, with the foot healing without surgery, there's always the chance this could happen again. 1.
News: Bills DE Aaron Schobel was placed on injured reserve on Thursday because of a nagging left foot injury that has forced the Buffalo Bills' top pass-rusher to miss most of the season. The team announced the move in a two-paragraph statement a day after coach Dick Jauron indicated the Bills were considering whether to end the player's season. Schobel has missed eight games since severely spraining a ligament that connects the big toe to his foot. The Bills hoped Schobel could return before the end of the season, but those plans were dashed when he still experienced soreness upon returning to practice last week. Schobel has visited numerous specialists over the past two months, but is not expected to require surgery.
Analysis: Schobel registered 35 tackles and one sack in five games this season. He's been sorely missed by a defense that's managed 12 sacks in its past nine games after registering 10 in the first four games. It's safe to cut Schobel in all leagues.
News: The Bills are considering placing DE Aaron Schobel on season-ending injured reserve. Coach Dick Jauron said Schobel's injured left foot is not improving and, with only three games left, the team may place him on IR. The team's top pass-rusher was excused from practice and has already missed eight games with a severely sprained tendon that connects the big toe to his foot. Schobel experienced little progress after returning to practice last week. "We've done all the tests. He's tested it on the field. It just didn't really respond the way he wanted it or we wanted it to," Jauron said.
Analysis: Schobel has seen various specialists over the past month, but is not expected to require surgery. Buffalo has struggled without Schobel, who's 68 career sacks rank second on the team behind only Bruce Smith. Hanging on to him doesn't seem like a good idea at this point.
News: Bills QB Trent Edwards (groin) was listed among the inactives as the third QB for Buffalo's Weel 14 game vs. Miami in Toronto. Also not in uniform will be: WR Justin Jenkins (coach's decision), RB Xavier Omon (coach's decision), CB Jabari Greer (knee), TE Jonathan Stupar (coach's decision) and DE Aaron Schobel (foot).
Analysis: Edwards was listed as doubtful all week, so hopefully you made alternative arrangements at the QB position. Schobel is the only other one on this list with any Fantasy value, and his lies in deeper IDP leagues when healthy. Ignore everyone else.
News: Defensive end Aaron Schobel (left foot) returned to practice this week, but remains sidelined. He's not expected to play vs. Miami in Week 14.
Analysis: Bad news since he had been practicing this week. Keep him benched or otherwise on the waiver wire until he returns, which hopefully will be Week 15.
News: With the Bills playing a huge game in Toronto vs. the Dolphins in Week 14, it looks like they're getting some reinforcements. Bills DE Aaron Schobel (foot) and FS Donte Whitner (shoulder) practiced in full on Wednesday and are considered candidates to make their respective returns to the field for Sunday's game. Schobel has missed seven games and Whitner has missed three. Elsewhere for the Bills, CB Jabari Greer missed practiced with his knee injury and DE Chris Kelsay had the day off.
Analysis: Schobel would fit the bill as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy DL for this week, his first game back. He might have been dropped in your IDP league, so check to see if you can grab him since he could rack up a couple of sacks in any given week. Whitner is a low-end No. 3 Fantasy DB that fits into lineups in deeper formats. Greer and Kelsay are no better than low-end desperation pickups.
News: The Bills have announced the inactives for their Week 13 game vs. San Francisco. Not in uniform: QB Gibram Hamdan (third QB), SS Donte Whitner (shoulder), CB Jabari Greer (knee), LB Teddy Lehman (hamstring), TE Robert Royal (hamstring), DE Aaron Schobel (foot) and DE Copeland Bryan (foot).
Analysis: Schobel, Whitner and Greer have some value in IDP formats, but Whitner and Greer were both declared out earlier this week, so hopefully you made alternate plans. Royal can be a decent emergency TE when healthy, but he's been out a couple of weeks now.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (foot) won't play against the 49ers in Week 13. However, a person familiar with the injury told the AP on Wednesday that Bills DE Aaron Schobel is scheduled to begin more intense on-field workouts next week with the possibility he could be cleared to play in Buffalo's game at the Jets on Dec. 14. The timetable fits the one provided to Schobel on Nov. 5 when he visited a specialist in North Carolina and had a cast placed on his foot to protect a sprained ligament to his big toe, the person said.
Analysis: Schobel has missed several games with the foot problem but could be back on track for two weeks from now. Fantasy owners should either bail on him or keep him reserved since he won't play this week or next week.
News: A person familiar with the injury told the AP on Wednesday that Bills DL Aaron Schobel is scheduled to begin more intense on-field workouts next week with the possibility he could be cleared to play in Buffalo's game at the Jets on Dec. 14. The timetable fits the one provided to Schobel on Nov. 5 when he visited a specialist in North Carolina and had a cast placed on his foot to protect a sprained ligament to his big toe, the person said.
Analysis: The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Bills have not announced the severity of the injury or provided updates on when Schobel might return after missing the past six games. Schobel is walking in a protective boot since having the cast removed about two weeks ago, the source said. If the Bills fall out of playoff contention, Schobel might not return at all, but if he does, he remains one of the top sack artists in the league. Obviously, you don't have to worry about him for a few weeks still.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (foot) and LB Marcus Buggs (ankle) have been ruled out for Week 12 at Kansas City.
Analysis: Schobel has missed several games with the foot problem and the Bills still aren't sure when he will be back. Schobel is a viable Fantasy DL when healthy, whereas Buggs has little to no value as a backup player.
News: The Bills listed DL Aaron Schobel as inactive for Week 11 against the Browns, meaning he'll miss his fifth straight game with a foot injury. The team had ruled him out earlier in the week.
Analysis: Schobel is one of the better sack artists in the league when healthy, but he obviously hasn't done much for your Fantasy team this season. Keep him stashed if you can, but don't start him right now.
News: Bills starting defensive end Aaron Schobel (foot) will miss his fifth game, while starting strong safety Donte Whitner hopes to play despite being listed as questionable. Whitner's been nursing a separated shoulder since Buffalo's loss to the Jets two weeks ago. He missed his first game of the season last week in a loss to New England. "I'm feeling good," Whitner said after Friday's practice. "We'll see how it goes. I expect to play, and I want to play, but it's up to (the coaches and trainers). It depends on how I progress over the next two days."
Analysis: Continue to sit (or cut) Schobel while using Whitner as a No. 3 Fantasy DB if he's active for Week 11.
News: The Bills inactives for Week 10 at New England include QB Gibran Hamdan, DB Donte Whitner, RB Xavier Omon, LB Teddy Lehman, WR Josh Reed and DL Aaron Schobel.
Analysis: Keep Reed, Whitner and Schobel reserved in all leagues for Week 10. Lehman, Hamdan and Omon have minimal Fantasy value even when healthy.
News: Bills starting defensive end Aaron Schobel (foot), starting strong safety Donte Whitner (separated shoulder) and nickel back Ashton Youboty (plantar fasciitis) have all been ruled out for Buffalo's Week 10 game at New England. Whitner will be missing his first game since hurting his shoulder in last week's loss to the New York Jets. Schobel and Youboty have both missed four straight games.
Analysis: Bryan Scott will replace Whitner, while either rookies Reggie Corner or Leodis McKelvin will assume Youboty's slot in the secondary. Ryan Denney will take Schobel's spot. None of these Bills are worth using in Week 10, and Whitner is really the only one worth hanging on to in IDP leagues since there's no guarantee that Schobel will return this season.
News: Bills top pass-rusher Aaron Schobel will spend at least the next week with his left foot in a cast, but is not expected to miss the rest of the season. Schobel had the cast placed on his foot to protect a sprained ligament in his big toe after the player was examined by a specialist in North Carolina, a person familiar with the injury told The Associated Press on Thursday. It's possible Schobel, who has already missed three games because of the injury, could be back by the end of the month, the person said. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Bills have not have not released information on the severity of the injury.
Analysis: Coach Dick Jauron has listed Schobel as being out on a week-to-week basis. On Thursday, Jauron would only say that Schobel was back in Buffalo after being examined by a specialist and will meet with the team's medical staff. The person said doctors are confident the injury should heal on its own, though further tests are required. There remains the possibility a screw would have to be surgically inserted to secure the ligament that holds Schobel's big toe to his foot. That diagnosis is much brighter than last week, when fears were raised that Schobel would miss the rest of the season. Still, Schobel doesn't seem like a player who will make a Fantasy contribution anytime soon. Keep him reserved.
News: The Bills' top pass rusher Aaron Schobel will miss at least another two weeks and could potentially be out for the rest of the season with a left foot injury. The two-time Pro Bowl defensive end is to meet with a specialist in North Carolina on Wednesday to have his foot examined, a person familiar with the injury told The Associated Press on Tuesday. There is concern that Schobel sustained a more serious injury in the mid-foot area where a cluster of bones forms a small arch between the ankle and toes, known as a Lisfranc injury. Depending on what the tests show, Schobel could miss as few as two weeks, the person said. Schobel has already missed three games since aggravating the injury during a 41-17 loss at Arizona on Oct. 5. He was initially hurt a week earlier during a 31-14 win at St. Louis.
Analysis: Schobel missed his first game of the season Week 7 and it appears he'll be out until at least Week 12 at this point. When healthy, Schobel can be a viable Fantasy DL, but you'll need to find a replacement for him for the time being if you counted on him in Fantasy.
News: Buffalo hosts the Jets on Sunday of Week 9 and have listed the following players as inactive and out for the game: RB Xavier Omon, DB Ashton Youboty, DL Aaron Schobel, DL John McCargo and the third quarterback is QB Gibran Hamdan.
Analysis: Schobel is the only Fantasy-viable name among this bunch, and he was already declared out earlier in the week. Continue to ignore the rest.
News: Bills defensive end Aaron Schobel (left foot) didn't practice all week and will miss Week 9 vs. the Jets, his third straight game. Schobel, the Bills' top pass rusher, hurt both a ligament and a bone near his big toe. Ryan Denney will take his place.
Analysis: Schobel missed his first game of the season Week 7 and it appears as though he might miss Week 9. Even if he is healthy, he might see limited reps. Consider using healthier alternatives for Week 9. When healthy, Schobel can be a viable Fantasy DL.
News: Bills defensive end Aaron Schobel (left foot) didn't practice Wednesday. Schobel, the Bills' top pass rusher, is expected to miss his third straight game Sunday vs. the Jets since hurting both a ligament and a bone near his big toe. On the plus side, he's no longer wearing a protective boot, and briefly worked out on his own before and after practice. "Not very good," Schobel said, when asked how the workout went. "It's better. I just don't know how much better and how much longer it's going to take."
Analysis: Schobel missed his first game of the season Week 7 and it appears as though he might miss Week 9. Even if he is healthy, he might see limited reps. Consider using healthier alternatives for Week 9. When healthy, Schobel can be a viable Fantasy DL.
News: The Bills have named the inactives for their Week 8 game at Miami. Not in uniform will be: third QB Gibran Hamdan (coach's decision), WR Steve Johnson (coach's decision), WR Justin Jenkins (coach's decision), RB Xavier Omon (coach's decision), CB Ashton Youboty (coach's decision) and DE Aaron Schobel (foot).
Analysis: Schobel is the only Fantasy-viable name among this bunch, and he was already declared out earlier in the week. Continue to ignore the rest.
News: Bills defensive end Aaron Schobel won't play Sunday, leaving the AFC East-leading Bills without a key starting lineman for their game at Miami. Schobel missed the Chargers game, snapping a string of 117 straight appearances since he entered the league in 2001.
Analysis: Consider using healthier alternatives for Week 8. When healthy, Schobel can be a viable Fantasy DL.
News: The Bills might be without defensive end Aaron Schobel, who's recovering from a ligament and bone injury to his left toe, for Week 8 against the Dolphins. Schobel was still walking with a protective boot, and has not practiced since aggravating the injury during a 41-17 loss at Arizona on Oct. 5.
Analysis: Schobel missed his first game of the season Week 7 and it appears as though he might miss Week 8. Even if he is healthy, he might see limited reps. Consider using healthier alternatives for Week 8. When healthy, Schobel can be a viable Fantasy DL.
News: Bills starting DE Aaron Schobel (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against San Diego. Schobel didn't practice all week and has been wearing a protective boot on his left foot to help heal a ligament and bone injury. He aggravated the injury against the Cardinals on Oct. 5, making him more likely to also miss Sunday's game.
Analysis: Keep Schobel reserved in all leagues for Week 7. When healthy, he is a No. 3 DL in IDP leagues.
News: Bills DE Aaron Schobel wore a protective boot on his injured left foot while watching practice from the sideline Wednesday. The status of the team's top pass rusher is uncertain for Buffalo's game against San Diego this weekend. Schobel was held out of practices last week after he aggravated the injury to a ligament near his big toe during a 41-17 loss at Arizona on Oct. 5, but Wednesday was the first time the defensive end was spotted wearing a boot, an indication the injury might be more severe than first believed.
Analysis: Schobel is a useful Fantasy options when healthy, but if he's wearing a boot, the news can't be good. Check his status throughout the week.
News: Bills starting cornerback Terrence McGee and starting defensive end Aaron Schobel both missed Monday's practice with injuries. McGee sprained his left knee early against St. Louis in Week 4 and missed the Cardinals game in Week 5, while Schobel is nursing a nagging left foot injury. Both are considered questionable for their Week 7 matchup against San Diego.
Analysis: McGee and Schobel are useful Fantasy options when healthy, so if you own them, check their status throughout the week. Both would be plenty busy against the Chargers in Week 7.
News: Buffalo DE Aaron Schobel missed practice Tuesday and will be one of numerous Bills regulars using the bye week to recuperate from nagging injuries. Schobel said he has a strained ligament in his left foot and doesn't expect to practice much, if it all, during the break. The Bills (4-1) are off to their best start in 16 years and host San Diego (2-3) on Oct. 19. The Bills' top pass rusher was hurt in a 31-14 win at St. Louis on Sept. 28. He played most of the game against Arizona last weekend, but eventually sat out part of the fourth quarter after the score got out of hand in a 41-17 loss.
Analysis: Hopefully, Schobel will be ready for Week 7 against the Chargers. Continue to monitor his progress before setting your lineup following the Bills' bye in Week 6.
News: The Bills didn't list DL Aaron Schobel among their inactives for Week 5, meaning he'll suit up and play at Arizona. A foot injury limited him in practice during the week.
Analysis: Schobel has never missed a game in his eight seasons in the NFL. He currently has the longest consecutive regular season games played streak among NFL defensive ends with 116. Schobel has just one sack in four games this season and will need to pick up his performance in the final 12 games of the season if he wants to get back to being a double-digit sack artist. Schobel does have a world of talent, but he is more of a No. 2 Fantasy DL when healthy.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (foot) is listed as questionable for Week 5 at Arizona. Schobel has taken limited practice reps the last two days after sitting out Wednesday. Head coach Dick Jauron told NFL.com he was optimistic about Schobel playing Sunday.

News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (foot) returned to limited practice reps Thursday after sitting out Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 5 at Arizona. Schobel was hurt Week 4 against the Rams.

News: Bills CB Terrence McGee, who wore a brace on his left knee and walked with a noticeable limp, was one of three defensive starters to miss practice Wednesday as the team prepared to play at Arizona. Coach Dick Jauron wouldn't rule McGee out, saying he will continue to have his sprained knee tested through the end of the week. McGee said the knee was still sore, but had improved since Monday, when he had difficulty walking. Also missing practice were DT Marcus Stroud (left shoulder) and DE Aaron Schobel (foot). They were hurt in last weekend's 31-14 win at St. Louis, but both finished the game. Jauron anticipated Stroud and Schobel returning to practice Thursday. McGee's injury is considered the most serious after the starting cornerback was hurt early in the first quarter against the Rams, when his leg was caught in the pile while making a tackle.
Analysis: If McGee can't play, the Bills would have nickelback Ashton Youboty and rookie first-round draft pick Leodis McKelvin split time opposite starter Jabari Greer against the Cardinals. Arizona (2-2) is coming off a 56-35 loss at the New York Jets. Kurt Warner had an NFL-season high 472 yards passing with two touchdowns and three interceptions. By not playing, McGee would get additional time to recuperate as the Bills are off next week until hosting San Diego on Oct. 19. If McGee is healthy and ready to go, consider him a low-end No. 2 DB for Week 5. The Bills DST is also a good start, but keep an eye on Stroud and Schobel also. Stroud and Schobel also expect to play.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel was credited with five solo tackles in Week 4 at St. Louis. He did not have a sack or an interception and did not force or recover a fumble.
Analysis: Schobel had gone two years in a row with double figures in sacks before lastseason. Consider him a No. 3 DL in IDP leagues until he gets going again.
News: Notable Bills defenders from Week 3 vs. Oakland include: LB Paul Posluszny (six total tackles, fumble recovery), DL Chris Kelsay (two solo tackles, sack, forced fumble), FS Donte Whitner (five total tackles) and DE Aaron Schobel (four solo tackles).
Analysis: All of these defenders are worth using on a regular basis in IDP leagues. The Bills play at the Rams in Week 4.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel, who had a career-high 14 sacks in 2006 but slumped to just 6.5 last year, got his 2008 season off to a good start in Week 1 when he recorded four tackles (two for loss) and a sack in a win over the Seahawks.
Analysis: Schobel is a low-end starting Fantasy DL in IDP leagues to start the season, but if he can recover his form from 2006 he will climb the ranking quickly. Start him in all formats for Week 2 against the Jaguars.
News: Buffalo DL Aaron Schobel had a down year in 2007. After getting a career-high 14 sacks in 2006, Schobel fell off with a career-low 6.5 sacks in 2007. He also added 57 tackles (45 solo) and forced five fumbles.
Analysis: Schobel had gone two years in a row with double figures in sacks before this season. Look for him to get back on track in 2008 and consider him a No. 3 DL in IDP leagues.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel had four tackles and a sack Sunday at Cleveland.
Analysis: Schobel is worth using as a No. 2 DL in IDP leagues in Week 16 against the Giants.
News: Bills DE Aaron Schobel sacked Dolphins QB Cleo Lemon and forced him to fumble in the fourth quarter of Buffalo's 38-17 victory over the Dolphins in Week 14. He finished the game with three tackles and added a pass defended.
Analysis: Schobel is a decent No. 2 Fantasy DL in IDP leagues and is definitely worth a start in Week 15 against the pass-happy Browns, even though their offensive line is much improved.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel was held without a sack for a fourth straight game in Buffalo's 36-14 loss to the Jaguars in Week 12.
Analysis: When Schobel isn't making sacks, he's pretty useless as a Fantasy IDP choice because he doesn't make many tackles as a pass-rusher. He has a reasonable matchup in Week 13 against the Redskins, but don't start him unless you don't have any better options.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (illness) is listed as probable for Week 11 vs. New England. Schobel went through full practices Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Schobel did not practice the Friday leading up to Week 10 against the Dolphins because of an illness, but was able to play.
Analysis: Schobel has 31 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and three forced fumbles on the season. Schobel isn't a consistent tackle producer, but he's always a threat in the sack department. Consider him a No. 2 or No. 3 DL in IDP leagues for Week 11. He appears ready to play.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (illness) did not practice Wednesday, but returned to a full routine Thursday as the team prepares for Week 11 vs. New England. Schobel also did not practice the Friday leading up to Week 10 against the Dolphins because of an illness, but was able to play.
Analysis: Schobel has 31 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and three forced fumbles on the season. Schobel isn't a consistent tackle producer, but he's always a threat in the sack department. News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel was held to two tackles and no sacks in Buffalo's 13-10 victory over the Dolphins in Week 10.
Analysis: Schobel is always a threat in the sack department, so consider him a No. 2 or No. 3 DL in IDP leagues against the Patriots in Week 11.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (illness) is listed as questionable for Week 10 at Miami. Schobel missed Thursday's practice because of a groin/thigh injury, but was sent home on Friday after becoming ill. Schobel has 29 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and three forced fumbles in eight games.
Analysis: The thigh injury appears to be minor, but the illness might be problematic heading into the weekend. Schobel isn't a consistent tackle producer, but he's always a threat in the sack department. Consider him a No. 2 or No. 3 DL in IDP leagues for Week 10. Continue to track his progress leading up to Sunday.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (thigh) went through limited practice reps Thursday as the team prepares for Week 10 at Miami. Schobel has 29 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and three forced fumbles in eight games.
Analysis: The thigh injury appears to be minor at this time as Schobel is still able to practice. Schobel isn't a consistent tackle producer, but he's always a threat in the sack department. Consider him a No. 2 or No. 3 DL in IDP leagues for Week 10. Continue to track his progress leading up to Sunday.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel made three tackles in Buffalo's 33-21 victory over the Bengals in Week 9.
Analysis: Schobel isn't a consistent tackle producer, but he's always a threat in the sack department. Consider him a No. 2 or No. 3 DL in IDP leagues for Week 10 when Buffalo head to Miami.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel got a sack, his second of the season, Week 8 at the N.Y. Jets. He also had five tackles and forced two fumbles.
Analysis: Schobel has struggled to get sacks this season, but his potential still makes him worth starting in Fantasy IDP leagues. The Bills host the Bengals in Week 9.
News: Bills Pro Bowl DL Aaron Schobel, who didn't record a sack Week 4 against the Jets, has one this season and 61.5 for his career, tying him with Phil Hansen for second place on the Bills all-time sack list behind Bruce Smith (171).
Analysis: With Julius Peppers and Jason Taylor struggling, Schobel moves up to number one among defensive linemen on our Fantasy IDP list. His Bills host the Cowboys in Week 5.
News: The Bills allowed 38 points and 485 yards of total offense in Week 3 at New England. DL Aaron Schobel and LB John DiGiorgio split the team's only sack of the game. DL John McCargo recovered a fumble for the only turnover of the game for Buffalo. The team also lost starting LB Paul Posluszny for at least a month with a broken left forearm.
Analysis: The Bills had an all-around rough day in New England and continue to lose important players due to injury. At this point, they are a very poor Fantasy option for Week 4 vs. the N.Y. Jets. DiGiorgio is an intriguing option in deeper IDP leagues after recording 12 tackles in Week 3. He'll need to pick up some of the slack left by Posluszny. Aaron Schobel is also useful in IDP formats, but McCargo isn't quite there despite the recovery.
News: Notable Bills defensive performers from Week 2 at Pittsburgh include: FS Donte Whitner (eight total tackles), LB Paul Posluszny (12 total tackles), DB Jim Leonhard (seven total tackles, interception), DE Aaron Schobel (two tackles, sack) and Angelo Crowell (seven total hits).
Analysis: All of these players except Leonhard should be considered in Week 3 Fantasy IDP league play when the Bills play at New England.
News: Defensive end Aaron Schobel reached a contract extension with the Bills on Friday, a reward for Buffalo's top pass-rusher coming off his first Pro Bowl season. Terms of the deal were not revealed by Bills vice president Jim Overdorf, but he noted that it was the team's hope that Schobel remains with Buffalo for the rest of his career. The 29-year-old Schobel has been a regular starter since his rookie season, after the Bills selected him in the second round of the 2001 draft out of Texas.
Analysis: Schobel is coming off a career year in which he finished third in the league with 14 sacks. That tied him with Bruce Smith for the fourth-highest single-season total by a Bills player and was the third time Schobel has produced 10 or more .With 60 1/2 career sacks, Schobel is third in team history -- one behind Phil Hansen -- and is one of just 15 active NFL players (including Giants holdout Michael Strahan) with that many. Since 2003, only Miami's Jason Taylor, with 48 sacks, has had more than Schobel's 45 1/2. Schobel is one of the most underrated pass rushers in the game and really shouldn't be overlooked in Fantasy leagues. He is a solid IDP option.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel (hamstring) returned to action during Friday's preseason game against the Falcons. He had three tackles (one solo) in the game.
Analysis: Schobel is coming off a great season in which he had 53 tackles, 14 sackes and three forced fumbles. Schobel is one of the most underrated pass rushers in the game and really shouldn't be overlooked in Fantasy leagues. He is a solid IDP option.
News:The Sports Xchange reports that Bills DE Aaron Schobel (hamstring) and Donte Whitner (hamstring) sat out the preseason opener at New Orleans but are expected to play Friday at home against Atlanta.
Analysis: Whitner is coming off a solid rookie season in which he racked up 104 tackles, but had just one interception. Playing at safety, the interceptions might not always be there. But Whitner still remains a valuable Fantasy IDP player in leagues that reward heavily for tackles. As for Schobel, the guy is a proven sack machine who will help in other categories as well. Continue to view him as a No. 1 Fantasy DL.
News: Entering his seventh season, Bills DL Aaron Schobel has quietly established himself as one of the league's top pass-rushers. He's coming off a career year in which he finished third in the league with 14 sacks. That tied him with Bruce Smith for the fourth-highest single-season total by a Bills player and marked the third time Schobel has produced 10 or more. With 60 1/2 career sacks, Schobel ranks third in team history - one behind Phil Hansen - and is one of just 15 active NFL players (including Giants holdout Michael Strahan) with that many. Since 2003, only Miami's Jason Taylor, with 48 sacks, has had more than Schobel's 45 1/2.
Analysis: Schobel is a solid DL in IDP leagues and should be an excellent source of sacks in 2007.
News: Bills Pro Bowl defensive end Aaron Schobel did not play Friday against the Saints because of a hamstring injury. He worked out before the game, but the Bills decided to hold him out as a precaution. "Our trainers looked at it and it's not severe, but there's something there," head coach Dick Jauron said. "We just felt it wasn't in our team's best interest to put him out there."
Analysis: Schobel is coming off a great season in which he had 53 tackles, 14 sackes and three forced fumbles. Schobel is one of the most underrated pass rushers in the game and really shouldn't be overlooked in Fantasy leagues. He is a solid IDP option. He should be ready for the start of the season.
News: Notable Bills defenders from Week 16 include: FS Donte Whitner (14 total tackles), LB London Fletcher-Baker (seven total tackles) and DE Aaron Schobel (four total tackles, sack).
Analysis: These players should be used in IDP league play at Baltimore in Week 17.
News: The Bills gave up 30 points and 396 total yards in a Week 16 loss to the Titans. They forced no turnovers, but DL Aaron Schobel did pick up his 14th sack of the season. DB Donte Whitner led all tacklers with 14.
Analysis: Consider the Bills DST a No. 2 Fantasy option for Week 17 against the Ravens. Schobel remains a solid Fantasy DL and will likely be a high-round pick in IDP leagues next season. Whitner will probably also be drafted in 2007.
News: The Bills DST shutout the Dolphins 21-0 with one sack and two interceptions. LB London Fletcher-Baker had 10 tackles. LB Keith Ellison had eight tackles and an interception. LB Takeo Spikes had six tackles. DB Nate Clements had an interception. DL Aaron Schobel had three tackles and a sack. DB Terrence McGee had six tackles. DB Donte Whitner had seven tackles. DL Chris Kelsay had three tackles.
Analysis: Consider the Bills DST a low-end No. 1 option for Week 16 against Tennessee and use all regular IDP players as needed.
News: Aaron Schobel's scowl is so familiar to the Buffalo Bills that even team owner Ralph Wilson ribs him about it: Wilson jokingly calls him "Smiley." It must be tough for Schobel to keep his frown on this week. He's suddenly tied with San Diego's Shawne Merriman atop the NFL with a career-high 12 1/2 sacks this season, and is coming off a dominating game that earned him AFC defensive player of the week honors. Besides matching a career-high with three sacks in a 31-13 win over the New York Jets last weekend, he was in on nine tackles, forced a fumble and registered three quarterback hits.
Analysis: Schobel is only owned in 51 percent of Fantasy leagues, but as long as he is among the league leaders in sacks, he remains one of the best Fantasy options on the market. Consider using him for Fantasy purposes in Week 15 as the Bills play the Dolphins.
News: The Bills DST recovered one fumble and had two sacks against San Diego. DL Chris Kelsay had three tackles and recovered a fumble. DB Nate Clements had seven tackles. DL Aaron Schobel had four tackles and a sack. DL Ryan Denney had three tackles and a sack. LB Takeo Spikes had nine tackles. LB London Fletcher-Baker had seven tackles. DB Donte Whitner had seven tackles.
Analysis: Consider the Bills a No. 2 DST option for Week 14 against the Jets. Use all IDP players as needed.
News: The Bills yielded 323 yards and 24 points to the Jaguars in a Week 12 win. The Bills were able to force one turnover and get three sacks on QB David Garrard. DL Larry Tripplett had 1 1/2 sacks, DL Anthony Hargrove had one sack and DL Aaron Schobel came up with 1/2 sack.
Analysis: The Bills defense had a fairly decent day against the Jaguars, but will have a much tougher task ahead in Week 13. The Chargers come to town and it is recommended you use another DST for Fantasy purposes. Schobel is the only player worth using for Week 13 in IDP leagues.
News: The Bills defense allowed 21 points and 397 total yards in Week 11 against the Texans. DL Larry Tripplett and DL Aaron Schobel picked up sacks for the Bills, while DB Nate Clements had an interception and a fumble recovery. LB London Fletcher-Baker led all tacklers with 10.
Analysis: Consider the Bills DST a No. 2 Fantasy option in Week 12 against the Jaguars. Schobel, Clements and Fletcher-Baker are all solid Fantasy IDP options.
News: The Bills DST held the Colts to 17 points. LB Angelo Crowell had 13 tackles and forced a fumble. LB London Fletcher-Baker had 14 tackles. DL Aaron Schobel had two tackles and forced a fumble. DB Terrence McGee had six tackles and recovered a fumble. He also had four kickoff returns for an average of 36.8 yards and a long of 88. DL Chris Kelsay had three tackles. LB Takeo Spikes had nine tackles. DB Nate Clements had five tackles. DB Donte Whitner had four tackles.
Analysis: Consider the Bills DST a good sleeper for Week 11 against Houston and use all regular IDP players.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel was long gone after the Bills opened their locker room after the game. However, his play spoke for him. Schobel was in the backfield all afternoon, and his two sacks moved him past Cornelius Bennett (521/2) and into third place on the Bills' career list with 531/2. Schobel, who had a career-high 12 sacks last season, leads the team again with seven this year. He is eight away from tying Phil Hansen for the second-most sacks in Bills history.
Analysis: Consider Schobel a No. 2 DL in all IDP leagues. Look for Schobel to struggle in Week 10 against Indianapolis.
News: Bills defenders who did well in Week 10 include: LB London Fletcher-Baker (14 total tackles, interception-return for a touchdown), CB Nate Clements (nine total tackles), CB Terence McGee (six tackles), LB Takeo Spikes (nine total tackles), DE Aaron Schobel (four tackles, two sacks, fumble recovery) and SS Ko Simpson (six tackles, interception).
Analysis: Fletcher-Baker and Clements are must-start Fantasy defenders. Spikes, McGee and Schobel should start in most leagues, too. Expect these guys to be very busy when they play at Indy in Week 10.
News: Bills DE Aaron Schobel had two sacks Sunday. His 10.5 against Patriots QB Tom Brady are the most by any player in the league.
Analysis: Schobel is a great DL in all IDP leagues. He is a good start in Week 9 against Green Bay.
News: The Bills DST gave up 28 points against the Patriots with four sacks. London Fletcher-Baker had nine tackles and a sack. DL Chris Kelsay had five tackles and a sack. And DL Aaron Schobel had five tackles and two sacks.
Analysis: The Bills have a bye in Week 8 but consider the DST a good option in Week 9 against Green Bay. All these players should be started in IDP leagues.
News: The Buffalo Bills defense had a tough time in Week 6 stopping the Lions offense giving up 397 total yards and 20 points. The Bills were able to come up with three sacks and one interception, but it just wasn't enough as the Lions won 20-17. DB Donte Whitner led everyone with eight tackles, while London Fletcher-Baker, Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay all had sacks. Ko Simpson got the team's lone interception.
Analysis: The Bills defense played better in Week 6 than they did in Week 5 as the Bears ripped dropped 40 points on them. Still, the Bills DST is at best a bye-week replacement heading into Week 7, where they play the Patriots. Whitner and Fletcher-Baker are decent Fantasy IDP options on a weekly basis, while Schobel and Kelsay should be used more in bye-week replacement situations.
News: Bills DE Aaron Schobel, Buffalo's fourth all-time sack leader with 48.5, notched his first sack of the season in Week 5. He worked hard for it against top tackle John Tait and now has sacks against 22 NFL teams.
Analysis: Schobel isn't having a lights out Fantasy year (nine tackles, one sack) but he could start to turn his season around. Consider him as a reserve DL in IDP leagues for the time being.
News: In Week 5 play at Chicago, Bills rookie SS Ko Simpson totaled 11 tackles while teammate Donte Whitner has eight solo hits and LB London Fletcher had nine total tackles. LB Angelo Crowell and DE Aaron Schobel each had a sack.
Analysis: All of these players are useful in deeper Fantasy leagues, whereas Fletcher and Schobel are better in regular IDP leagues. Watch for Simpson and Whitner in keeper leagues -- both should be fantastic in those kind of formats.
News: Bills DL Aaron Schobel had zero tackles against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Schobel still has the chance to be a dominant defensive lineman. He is a decent No. 2 defensive lineman in IDP leagues.
News: The Bills DST scored a TD against the Patriots when LB London Fletcher-Baker recovered a Tom Brady fumble in the end zone in the first quarter. The Bills also got sacks from DE Chris Kelsay, DE Aaron Schobel and LB Takeo Spikes. DB Donte Whitner also had an interception.
Analysis: The Bills DST still gave up 17 points to the Patriots offense. The Dolphins should also be able to score against the Bills next week, so keep the Buffalo DST reserved in all Fantasy leagues.
News: DL Aaron Schobel is ready for the season. He has never missed a game (80 overall) in his career and has 75 starts. In that span, he has totaled 46.5 sacks, already placing him fourth on Buffalo's all-time list, just six behind linebacker Cornelius Bennett. Schobel and all-time sack leader Bruce Smith (171), who did it on 12 occasions, are the only players in Bills history with multiple double-digit sack years. Schobel had 11.5 in 2003 and a career-best 12.0 last season. His goal for 2006? Double-digits for sacks and — most importantly — wins. The Bills last won at least 10 games in 1999. "I'd like to improve on the year before, for sure, but just to play fast and play hard and all of that other stuff takes care of itself," Schobel told the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. "It's a long season. If you don't get a sack in a game, I can't worry about it. You can get two or three in a game and be right back on track. My thing is to stay focused and stay steady."
Analysis: Schobel and the Bills defense are a bad option this week against Tom Brady and the Patriots.
News: Bills DE Aaron Schobel posted another strong season, finishing with 12 sacks and 71 total tackles with an interception.
Analysis: Among Fantasy DLs, he was in the top five. Count on him getting drafted early among linemen in 2006.
News: Aaron Schobel picked up a sack and an interception in Week 13 at Miami.
Analysis: Schobel is a solid No. 2 of 3 defensive lineman in IDP leagues.
News: Schobel (hamstring) was able to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Titans. He started at right defensive end.
Analysis: Schobel is a decent Fantasy player in larger individual defender leagues.
