Justin Smith ready to go after shoulder surgery

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/23/2014) 49ers defensive lineman Justin Smith had offseason shoulder surgery to repair damage he sustained in camp a year ago, reports CSNBayArea.com. Smith, 34, spent the offseason rehabbing and missed all the on-field drills.

But Smith, who did not miss a game last year, says he's ready to go. "I feel healthy compared to last year," Smith said. "I feel a lot better than I did last year. This is it. This is the one I’m thinking about."

Smith still was highly productive, getting 49 tackles, 6.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He's signed through 2015.
