Lions sign Chris Hope, cut Brian Robiskie

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/24/2013) For the second time this offseason the Lions have released receiver Brian Robiskie. And for the second time this offseason they've signed a veteran safety, Chris Hope

Robiskie will look for work after taking up space on the Lions' receiver depth chart. He has 485 yards and four touchdowns through four NFL seasons. Hope joins the Lions after spending last season with the Falcons in a limited role.

Hope not yet back as starter

(11/17/2011) Even though Chris Hope will play his second straight game Week 11 at Atlanta in his return from a forearm injury, he will continue to come off the bench in favor of Jordan Babineaux, who has thrived in his absence this season. “We’ll have Jordan out there with the first group. We’ll keep rotating (Hope) in,” coach Mike Munchak said.

Hope returns from four-game absence

(11/13/2011) Titans DB Chris Hope, who missed the last four games with a forearm injury, returned to the lineup Week 10 at Carolina. However, Jordan Babineaux still started at strong safety. Hope still had a successful return, netting an interception. He didn't have any tackles, unfortunately.

Hope has hope to return?

(11/11/2011) Titans DB Chris Hope, who has missed the last four games with a forearm injury, is listed as questionable for Week 10 at Carolina. He has practiced this week.

Hope cleared to practice for Titans

(11/7/2011) Tennessee DB Chris Hope (forearm) was finally cleared to return to practice on Monday as the Titans prepare for Week 10 at Carolina. Hope's starting job apparently depends on how healthy he appears to be in practice during the week. He may not start immediately against the Panthers if his conditioning isn't up to par.

Hope remains sidelined

(11/4/2011) Tennessee DB Chris Hope was ruled out for Week 9 against Cincinnati as he continues to deal with a troublesome forearm injury. Hope has not played since Oct. 2 against Cleveland and will miss his fourth consecutive game.

Hope inactive for Week 8

(10/30/2011) Titans DB Chris Hope (hamstring) was inactive for Week 8 vs. Indianapolis. It was the third straight game he has missed and the fifth this season overall. Jordan Babineaux continued to start in his absence.

Hope not returning Week 8

(10/28/2011) Titans DB Chris Hope (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 8 vs. Indianapolis. It will be the third straight game he misses and the fifth this season. Jordan Babineaux will continue to start in his absence.

Hope still not cleared to practice

(10/26/2011) Titans DB Chris Hope said on Wednesday that he is still not cleared to practice and is being considered week to week. He has missed the last two games due to a fractured forearm. “I’ve been getting my flexibility back in my forearm,” Hope said. “Most importantly, we’re letting the bone heal. Sometimes it feels good, but it’s not completely mended.”

No hope for Hope

(10/21/2011) Titans DB Chris Hope (forearm) has been officially ruled out for Week 7 vs. Houston. It will be the second straight game and fourth this season Hope will miss.

(10/2/2011) Titans DB Chris Hope, who was playing for the first time since Week 1 after missing time with a shoulder injury, left in the first half Week 4 at Cleveland with a broken forearm. Mike Munchak wasn't sure if he'd require surgery.

Hope gets back in the lineup

Hope on track for Week 4 return

(9/30/2011) Titans DB Chris Hope, who has missed the last two games with a shoulder injury, is expected to start Week 4 against the Browns. He is listed as probable on the injury report.

Hope continuing to make progress

(9/27/2011) Titans S Chris Hope continues to make progress from a shoulder injury that has kept him out of the lineup the past two weeks. Hope returned to do scout-team duty last week while trying to rebuild the strength in the shoulder he dislocated in the season opener. He might have a chance to play in Week 4 against the Browns. "Chris Hope will continue where we left off last week with him, hoping again that his shoulder continues to get stronger and that he will be able to help us next week in Cleveland, so we will see how that progresses starting Wednesday. It should be obviously better than last week," coach Mike Munchak said.

Hope lost for Week 3 game

(9/25/2011) Tennessee S Chris Hope was listed among the Titans' inactives for the Week 3 game against the Broncos. Hope was seen prior to the game running the steps at LP Field and is still hampered by his shoulder injury.

Hope likely to sit again Week 3

(9/23/2011) Titans DB Chris Hope, who missed Week 2 with a shoulder injury, was limited in practice Friday, likely signaling Jordan Babineaux will make his second consecutive start. “I think we’ll be smart with that again,” coach Mike Munchak said. “He would probably be available if we needed him. But I would assume (Babineaux) would play again.”

Hope inactive against Ravens

(9/18/2011) Titans DB Chris Hope (shoulder) is inactive for Week 2 vs. Baltimore. He was doubtful on the injury report. Jordan Babineaux will start in his place.

Hope doubtful for Week 2

(9/16/2011) Titans coach Mike Munchak confirmed Friday that SS Chris Hope (shoulder) will miss Sunday’s game vs. Baltimore. Hope is listed as doubtful but it doesn't sound as though he has a chance of playing. "We'll definitely hold him this week and see how he is next week," coach Mike Munchak said. Jordan Babineaux is set to start in his place.

Hope drawing coach's concern

(9/14/2011) While injuries could leave the Titans thin at defensive end and at running back vs. the Ravens in Week 2, coach Mike Munchak said he’s “most concerned” about the status of SS Chris Hope (shoulder) and WR Damian Williams (hamstring). Neither Hope, nor Williams practiced Wednesday.

Coach expects Hope to be questionable
