News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon totaled two tackles and one sack Week 10 at Carolina. He also had a forced fumble. He now has two sacks on the season.
Analysis: Witherspoon had one of his better seasons in years in 2010 with the Titans, resurrecting his career. Unfortunately, he is not making plays at the same rate in 2011. Witherspoon remains a low-end Fantasy LB.
News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon had a sack and an INT on Sunday vs. the Broncos. He totaled four tackles.
Analysis: Witherspoon's not a bad Fantasy LB to speculate on in deeper leagues. Consider him for your bench; he should put up more tackles in Week 4 at the Browns.
News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon managed his second interception of the season in Week 16 at Kansas City. He was also credited with eight tackles and a pass defensed.
Analysis: Witherspoon isn't a great source for tackles, but he does have at least eight in three of his last four games and is wrapping up the season at a nice pace. He remains a low-end play for larger IDP formats.
News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon totaled eight tackles (three solo) in Week 14 against the Colts. He had one tackle for loss. Witherspoon has 18 tackles in two December games.
Analysis: Witherspoon is not the tackling presence he once was during his heyday. The star linebacker for Tennessee this season is Stephen Tulloch. Witherspoon started the season with a sack in three straight games, but he has been shutout his last 10 contests. Witherspoon remains just a low-end Fantasy start.
News: After failing to reach 10 tackles in three straight games, Titans LB Will Witherspoon managed to rack up 10 tackles -- eight solo -- in the Week 13 game against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Witherspoon has got back on track in the tackle department, but he is still lacking in the sack department. He registered a sack in three straight games to open the season, but has not taken a QB down since. Still, he can be viewed as a No. 2 Fantasy LB moving forward.
News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon was all over the pace in Week 8 against the Chargers. Although he got burned on an TE Antonio Gates touchdown catch and got ran over by RB Darren Sproles on a 13-yard touchdown run, the 30-year-old recorded 10 tackles, including one for a loss, in the 33-25 loss.
Analysis: Sunday's game was the first time Witherspoon produced more than six tackles in a game this season but he has 40 through the first eight games with three sacks. He probably won't reach the 100-tackle mark in 2010 but should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy LB in IDP formats for Week 10 against the Dolphins.
News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon was credited with a pass defensed in Week 7 against the Eagles. He added four tackles.
Analysis: Witherspoon has had five passes defensed to his name over the last five weeks and is a solid source for help in that category for a linebacker. He should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy LB in IDP formats.
News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon recorded three tackles in Week 6 against the Jaguars but also had a huge quarterback it. He knocked QB David Garrard from the game in the second quarter with a concussion. Witherspoon said the hit was "a clean, solid hit. He just got the ball out. I wish he hadn't because I would have liked the sack.'
Analysis: Witherspoon has 26 tackles and three sacks on the year and has been playing at a high level at age 30. He probably won't reach the 100-yard tackle mark but remains a viable enough option to be considered a No. 2 Fantasy LB in IDP formats.
News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon collected five tackles in the Week 4 matchup with Denver. It was also the first game this season in which he did not record a sack.
Analysis: With 21 tackles and three sacks to date, Witherspoon is a steady presence who should be active in most IDP formats. He and the Titans will be facing the Cowboys in Week 5.
News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon had three tackles in Week 3 at the N.Y. Giants. He had recorded six tackles in each of two previous games. Witherspoon was able to record a sack for the third game in a row.
Analysis: Witherspoon is on pace for 16 sacks. He was also credited with a pass defensed in Week 3 and has found different ways to be productive in IDP formats so far this season. He'l playing well enough to activate in most formats.
News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon left Week 2 against the Steelers in the second half with a leg injury. He managed six tackles, including one sack, in the game prior to getting hurt.
Analysis: Witherspoon was having a very solid game prior to getting hurt. He has managed six tackles in his first two games and has a sack in each contest. He has some mild upside in larger IDP formats as a No. 2 LB option when healthy.
News: Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher says Will Witherspoon's mother has died unexpectedly and that the Titans starting linebacker has been excused from practice this week. Fisher says the Titans are leaving it up to Witherspoon when to return to the team, though the veteran told the coach he plans to be back for Sunday's opener against Oakland.
Analysis: Fisher says with eight years of NFL experience, Witherspoon should be able to play without practicing for a few days. He's nothing more than a reserve option for Fantasy owners to check out.
News: Titans LB Will Witherspoon, a free-agent signee in the offseason, has earned head coach Jeff Fisher's stamp of approval. "He's got leadership skills that you expect a great player and person to have," Fisher said. "He just plays and makes plays, plays to the ball. He can make all the plays -- take on, strike, shed, chase plays, blitz."
Analysis: The Titans are Witherspoon's third team since the start of last season. He was traded to Philadelphia last season not because of lack of talent, but because the Rams didn't need him since the playoffs weren't in their future. Witherspoon totaled 92 tackles in 17 games. He is more of a No. 2 Fantasy LB in IDP leagues. It's great to see him already fitting in with his new team.
News: The Titans have agreed to a three-year contract with Will Witherspoon as they revamp their linebacking corps. The $11 million deal was announced Wednesday. General manager Mike Reinfeldt says Witherspoon likely will play outside linebacker, likely replacing Keith Bulluck.
Analysis: Witherspoon, who had 92 tackles last season, fits a need for the Titans. Typically outside linebackers don't fare well in Fantasy play, but replacing Keith Bulluck would suggest reaping the stats he put up, and he had his fair share of tackles in the Titans' defense. We consider Witherspoon worthy of a late pick but with some solid potential.
News: The Eagles had several players chip in Sunday on defense at Chicago. DB Quintin Mikell had eight tackles. LB Will Witherspoon had six tackles. DE Trent Cole had five tackles and a sack. DB Sean Jones had four tackles and an interception.
Analysis: The Eagles should continue to play well on defense heading into Week 12 against Washington. Consider Mikell, Witherspoon, Cole and Jones solid Fantasy options in IDP leagues.
News: For the second consecutive week, the Eagles will go with a different look at linebacker because of a knee injury to weakside starter Akeem Jordan. Coach Andy Reid ruled out Jordan for Sunday night's game at Chicago. Will Witherspoon will again start at weakside LB, and second-year man Joe Mays will start in the middle. Chris Gocong, who started in the middle in last week's loss to San Diego, will move back to his customary spot on the strong side. Rookie Moise Fokou, who started the past two games on the strong side, appears to be the odd man out. Additionally, CB Sheldon Brown is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury he suffered in San Diego. The veteran did limited work Thursday and Friday in practice. Reid said it will be a game-time decision as his secondary already deals with depth issues.
Analysis: Witherspoon is a solid Fantasy option this week with Mays a longshot sleeper if you're needy for a LB. Gocong and Brown can't be considered reliable Fantasy choices for Week 11. Jordan obviously shouldn't start, either.
News: The Eagles got some good play from several members on defense Sunday against Dallas. LB Akeem Jordan had seven tackles, LB Will Witherspoon had six tackles, DB Sean Jones had five tackles and a sack, DB Sheldon Brown had three tackles and an interception, DL Trent Cole had two tackles and a sack, DB Quintin Mikell had four tackles and DL Juqua Parker had two tackles and a sack.
Analysis: Look for the Eagles to continue to play on defense in Week 10 at San Diego. Plan to start all your regular IDP options against the Chargers.
News: With an interception return for a touchdown and a sack, Eagles LB Will Witherspoon is one of two players to accomplish that in his first game with a new team when he did it Monday night in a win over Washington. He joins Sam Adams, who accomplished it with Buffalo. Witherspoon tied for the team lead with eight tackles and added a forced fumble.
Analysis: Judging by his first game with the Eagles, Witherspoon could be a force going forward. If you need a new LB in Fantasy IDP leagues you might want to give him a shot Week 8 against the Giants.
News: The Eagles have traded rookie WR Brandon Gibson and a fifth-round pick to the Rams for LB Will Witherspoon. Witherspoon is expected to start immediately for the Eagles, possibly in the middle of the defense. He left the team's Week 6 game against the Jaguars with a hip/back injury but it's been deemed just a bruise.
Analysis: Witherspoon should help the Eagles run defense so long as he stays healthy. He's a useful addition off waivers in IDP leagues. Gibson could find playing time with the Rams sooner than later, especially since the Rams' offense is a lot like the Eagles; former Eagles assistant Pat Shurmur is the Rams' offensive coordinator. He's worth a flier in the deepest of leagues.
News: The Rams had a slew of injuries on the defensive side of the ball in Week 6. CB Justin King (groin), DE James Hall (groin), CB Ron Bartell (possible concussion) and LB Will Witherspoon (hip/back) all were dinged up in the game.
Analysis: None of these players are all that relevant in Fantasy although Witherspoon and Hall do have some lower-end value in IDP formats. Monintor their status this week leading into Week 7 against a potent Colts offense.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon led the team in tackles on Sunday of Week 2 against the Redskins. Witherspoon amassed 10 total tackles. Oshiomogho Atogwe added 8 tackles as did James Laurinaitis.
Analysis: Witherspoon already has 16 tackles on the season after two games and that is a solid number. He can be used as a No. 2 Fantasy LB in IDP leagues. Atogwe also has 16 total tackles and an interception. He can be used as a No. 1 DB Week 3 against the Packers. Laurinaitis already has 22 tackles on the season and is a No. 3 IDP option most weeks.
News: Rams head coach Jim Haslett said Friday that seventh-round draft pick David Vobora will start at middle linebacker in place of Will Witherspoon vs Miami in Week 13. Witherspoon will play, but only on third downs and in two-minute drill situations, according to Haslett. Vobora will wear the headset for the Rams defense.
Analysis: This crushes the Fantasy value for Witherspoon this week, and possibly into future weeks depending on how Vobora plays. Consider the rookie a low-end No. 3 Fantasy option, though he'll see lots of chances to cling to the Dolphins' run game since they should utilize the ground game a lot. Witherspoon shouldn't start for Fantasy owners.
News: St. Louis LB Will Witherspoon led the team with eight solo tackles against the Bears in a Week 12 loss Sunday.
Analysis: Witherspoon has 67 total tackles on the season with one sack and one pick. Witherspoon ranked as a top-12 Fantasy LB in standard-scoring leagues last year, but the tackles haven't come as frequently this season. Still, he looks like a decent starter in IDP leagues as the Rams play Miami in Week 13.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon picked up 12 tackles, including nine solo, Week 11 at San Francisco. He now has 59 on the season. He ended up leaving the game with a leg injury, but coach Jim Haslett doesn't consider it serious.
Analysis: Witherspoon ranked as a top-12 Fantasy LB in standard-scoring leagues last year, but the tackles haven't come as frequently this season. Still, he looks like a decent starter in IDP leagues.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon made four tackles in a Week 9 loss to the Cardinals.
Analysis: Witherspoon ranked as a top-12 Fantasy LB in standard-scoring leagues last year, but hasn't been making as many tackles this season. He remains a decent low-end starting LB for now, but keep a close eye on his stats.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon, who had an interception in Week 7, could not make another pick in Week 8 in a loss to the Patriots. He made only three tackles in the game.
Analysis: Witherspoon ranked as a top-12 Fantasy LB in standard-scoring leagues last year, but hasn't been making as many tackles this season. He remains a decent low-end starting LB for now, but keep a close eye on his stats.
News: Notable Rams defenders from Week 7 vs. Dallas include: DB O.J. Atogwe (three solo tackles, two interceptions), DL Leonard Little (four total tackles, 1.5 sacks, forced fumble), LB Will Witherspoon (three solo tackles, interception) and DL James Hall (three total tackles, 1.5 sacks).
Analysis: Of these defenders, Atogwe, Little and Witherspoon are worth using in IDP league play. The Rams play at the Patriots in Week 8.
News: St. Louis LB Will Witherspoon (shoulder) practiced in full for the Rams on Friday and is listed as probable for Week 6 in Washington.
Analysis: Witherspoon ranked as a top-12 Fantasy LB in standard-scoring leagues last year and only figures to get better this season. He is usually around 10 tackles per game and is a great start in any IDP format.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon was credited with five tackles in Week 4 vs. Buffalo.
Analysis: Witherspoon ranked as a top-12 Fantasy LB in standard-scoring leagues last year and only figures to get better this season. He is usually around 10 tackles per game and is a great start in any IDP format.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon (seven tackles, sack) and rookie DE Chris Long (seven tackles) led their team with seven tackles each in a Week 3 loss to the Seahawks. Also contributing were DL Adam Carriker (six tackles), DB Tye Hill (six tackles), DB Corey Chavous (six tackles) and DB O.J. Atogwe (six tackles).
Analysis: Witherspoon and Atogwe are solid No. 1 LBs in all IDP formats, while Long is a promising rookie worth using as a bye-week replacement. The rest of these guys have little or no Fantasy value. St. Louis hosts Buffalo in Week 4.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon had six solo tackles in Week 2 against the Giants and one assist after recording just four tackles in Week 1 at Philadelphia.
Analysis: The Rams haven't been tackling many people early on this season, allowing nearly 1,000 yards of offense and over 75 points in two games. But the defense is going to be on the field a lot, it appears, this season and that could lead to more tackles down the road for Witherspoon, who remains a quality No. 1 Fantasy LB.
News: St. Louis Rams LB Will Witherspoon was the Rams team MVP in 2007 and has led the team in tackles in each of the last two years while learning basically a new position at inside linebacker. Perhaps the most terrifying thing for opposing offenses is that Witherspoon is still finding ways to get better. Along with his natural improvement and gains in size (hes gained 9 pounds since arriving in St. Louis), Rams defensive coordinator Jim Haslett is finding new and inventive ways to use him. The return of pass rush specialist Leonard Little from injury and the selection of Chris Long doesnt mean Witherspoon wont be used to get after the quarterback in 2008. Witherspoon coming off the edge is still a prominent part of the defensive package. For instance, one set features Witherspoon moving to open space and blitzing from any number of angles. "We definitely have it in the package," Witherspoon said. "Theres still some things we have kind of hidden away and we know we can use it at any given time. It will be mixed in here and there." What wont be hidden is Witherspoons versatility. At any given time, Witherspoon is just as like to rush the passer as he is to drop 30 yards into coverage and break up a deep pass attempt. In his third season in Hasletts system and at middle linebacker, Witherspoon is about as confident as a player can be in his ability.
Analysis: Witherspoon ranked as a top-12 Fantasy LB in standard-scoring leagues last year and only figures to get better this season. A safe bet to rack up the tackles, and apparently the sacks too, Witherspoon is a quality No. 1 Fantasy LB without the big-name hype. Unless you're in an IDP league with people who know what they're doing, you can probably sneak Witherspoon onto your squad with a pick between Rounds 6 and 9 in drafts. Still, he's making his name and won't go unnoticed for too much longer so scoop him up if he's available.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon continued to be a Fantasy stalwart, leading the Rams with 110 total tackles (92 solo), seven sacks (a career high), seven passes defensed and two forced fumbles. Witherspoon ranked as a top-12 Fantasy LB in standard-scoring leagues.
Analysis: A safe bet to rack up the tackles, and apparently the sacks too, Witherspoon is a quality No. 1 Fantasy LB without the big-name hype. Unless you're in an IDP league with people who know what they're doing, you can probably sneak Witherspoon onto your squad with a pick between Rounds 6 and 9 in drafts this summer.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon's foot didn't limit him in practice Wednesday. He's listed on the team's injury report, but is expected to play vs. Pittsburgh in Week 16.
Analysis: Witherspoon is having a career year but wasn't named to the Pro Bowl. Whether or not that motivates him in Week 16, he should still be a No. 1 Fantasy LB for Week 16 action.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon was a last second addition to the injury report Week 14 against the Bengals. Witherspoon took limited practice reps Friday, but is listed as probable for Sunday's game. He has been on the injury report just one other time this season and that came Week 12 with a foot injury. He was also probable and didn't miss the game.
Analysis: Witherspoon has been playing exceptional as of late. He has at least one sack in five straight games and six overall. He has emerged as a No. 1 Fantasy LB and it appears safe to keep him active Week 14. The Rams don't seem overly concerned about his injury at this time.
News: Rams LB Brandon Chillar (seven tackles), DB Corey Chavous (six tackles), LB Will Witherspoon (five tackles, sack), LB Chris Draft (four tackles, sack), DL Adam Carriker (two tackles, sack) and DL La'Roi Glover (two tackles, sack) all had nice contributions in St. Louis' 28-16 win over the Falcons in Week 13.
Analysis: Witherspoon is a low-end No. 1 Fantasy LB in IDP leagues, while everyone else in this list has minimal or no value at this time. Start only Witherspoon in Week 14 against the Bengals.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon had five tackles and two sacks Sunday against Seattle.
Analysis: Witherspoon is a No. 1 LB in IDP leagues and should be started in all leagues in Week 13 against Atlanta.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon (foot) is listed as probable for Week 12 vs. Seattle. He took full practice reps all week. He has 77 tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles in 10 games.
Analysis: Witherspoon has managed to avoid the injury bug this season and is expected to face the Seahawks. Consider him no worse than a No. 2 Fantasy LB.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon had seven tackles and a sack Week 11 at San Francisco.
Analysis: Witherspoon has 77 tackles and four sacks on the season. Continue to start him as a No. 2 LB in Fantasy when the Rams host the Seahawks in Week 12.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon had seven tackles and a sack Sunday against the Saints.
Analysis: Witherspoon is a No. 2 LB in IDP leagues and should be considered a good start in Week 11 at the 49ers.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon led his team with nine tackles and added a sack in St. Louis' 27-20 loss to the Browns in Week 8.
Analysis: Witherspoon is a tackling machine and is a clear No. 1 LB in IDP play. The Rams are off in Week 9, however, so make sure to bench him. St. Louis return to action in Week 10 against the Saints.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon picked up 13 tackles Week 7 at Seattle. He now has 54 on the season.
Analysis: For all the tackles he gets, Witherspoon is a must-start player in Fantasy IDP leagues. The Rams host the Browns in Week 8.
News: Notable Rams defenders from Week 5 vs. Arizona include: LB Will Witherspoon (14 total tackles, sack, forced fumble), CB Fakhir Brown (nine solo tackles, two interceptions), DB O.J. Atogwe (five solo tackles) and LB Pisa Tinoisamoa (six total tackles).
Analysis: Of these players, only Witherspoon is a must-start in IDP leagues. Atogwe is a nice low-end DB in deeper leagues, but everyone else can be ignored for now in Fantasy play (including Brown, who won't produce stats like this consistently).
News: St. Louis LB Will Witherspoon had six tackles Sunday against Dallas.
Analysis: Witherspoon should be considered a good option in IDP leagues in Week 5 against Arizona.
News: There's not much to like from the Rams defenders in Week 3 action at Tampa Bay. CB Ronald Bartell led the way with six solo tackles, SS Corey Chavous had five tackles, LB Will Witherspoon totaled six hits, DE Leonard Little had four solo tackles, CB O.J. Atogwe had three solo tackles, LB Brandon Chillar had six total tackles and a forced fumble, DL Clifton Ryan had two solo tackles and a forced fumble and DL Trevor Johnson had a sack and a solo tackle.
Analysis: Of these players, Chavous, Witherspoon and Little are reliable Fantasy IDP players; Atogwe is decent in deeper leagues. The rest of these players aren't worth owning in Fantasy play.
News: Notable Rams defenders from Week 1 vs. Carolina include: CB O.J. Atogwe (ten solo tackles), CB Tye Hill (seven tackles), LB Brandon Chillar (eight total tackles, forced fumble) and DB Chris Chavous (seven total tackles, forced fumble). DE Leonard Little (five total tackles) and Will Witherspoon (six total tackles) also helped in.
Analysis: Witherspoon, Little, Hill and Atogwe are useful in Fantasy IDP league play from week to week. Chavous is more of a low-end option. Consider these players when they face the 49ers at home in Week 2.
News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Rams will keep LB Will Witherspoon in the middle in 2007. It was initially believed that newcomer Chris Draft would take over the middle. "One thing about putting him in the middle, he's able to be a more productive tackler for us, and play sideline to sideline from there," coach Scott Linehan said. "He's got one full year of playing (middle) linebacker full-time. It'd be hard for me to believe he's not going to be a lot better next year."
Analysis: Witherspoon had a stellar year in St. Louis, his first, totaling 113 tackles (98 solo), three sacks, three fumbles forced, one fumble recovery and eight passes defensed. He'll be a top-12 Fantasy LB in all IDP leagues next season, while Draft will be a reserve option at best.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon had a stellar year in St. Louis, his first, totaling 113 tackles (98 solo), three sacks, three fumbles forced, one fumble recovery and eight passes defensed.
Analysis: Witherspoon was a low-end No. 1 Fantasy LB option entering 2006, but he'll be a top-12 Fantasy LB in all IDP leagues next season.
News: The Rams DST yielded 21 points and 293 total yards to the Vikings in Week 17. LB Will Witherspoon, DL Jimmy Kennedy and DL Leonard Little all had one sack. While DB Ronald Bartell had two interceptions, including one he returned 38 yards for a touchdown.
Analysis: The Rams did not have a good year defensively and will not be a popular pick on Draft Day 2007. They might be taken as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy DST. Witherspoon and Little are top-end Fantasy players in IDP leagues and both players will likely be drafted before the middle rounds next season.
News: The Rams listed FB Paul Smith (neck, doubtful), DE Victor Adeyanju (forearm, probable), DT aRoi Glover (ribs, probable), DE Leonard Little (neck, probable) and LB Will Witherspoon (knee, probable) on their Week 17 injury report. The Rams play at Minnesota in the game.
Analysis: With the exception of Smith, all of the above players should play in Week 17, making the Rams strong defensively, especially against a weak offense like the Vikings. Use the defenders in IDP leagues as warranted, and use the Rams defense as a unit as a low-end option in Week 17 action.
News: The Rams DST had a fumble recovery against the Redskins and nothing eles. DB Corey Chavous had four tackles and a fumble recovery. LB Will Witherspoon had five tackles. DL Leonard Little had five tackles. DB O.J. Atogwe had eight tackles.
Analysis: The Rams DST is not a recommended option for Week 17 against the Vikings but use all regular IDP players as needed.
News: Rams RB Paul Smith (neck) is doubtful, DB Jerome Carter (ankle) and DL Victor Adeyanju (forearm) are questionable, while RB Stephen Davis (hand) and LB Will Witherspoon (knee) are listed as probable for Week 16 vs. Washington.
Analysis: Witherspoon is the only injured player worth using in Fantasy leagues for Week 16. He has already reached the 100-tackle plateau for the season. Ignore the other injured players for now.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon was added to the team's injury report on Friday. He is probable for Week 14 vs. Chicago with an illness. He did not practice on Friday.
Analysis: Witherspoon has been a solid Fantasy linebacker this season in St. Louis and should start in all but the smallest of Fantasy leagues that use IDPs this week.
News: The Rams defense held the Seahawks to just 283 yards, but gave up 24 points in a Week 10 loss. The Rams defense did get six sacks and recovered two fumbles. Rams DL Leonard Little had two sacks, LB Will Witherspoon had two sacks, DB O.J. Atogwe had one sack, as did LB Brandon Chillar. Atogwe also forced two fumbles and Little forced one fumble. DL Victor Adeyanju returned a fumble 89 yards for a touchdown.
Analysis: The Rams have been a less-than-desireable Fantasy unit of late and are not a recommended Fantasy option in leagues of less than 12 teams for Week 11 when they visit Carolina. Little and Witherspoon are must-start Fantasy IDP players. Atogwe is a low-end Fantasy DB.
News: Notable Rams defenders in Week 8 at San Diego include: LB Will Witherspoon (12 tackles), DB Corey Chavous (three tackles, sack) and DE Leonard Little (four tackles).
Analysis: All three defenders are worth using in IDP leagues when they play vs. Kansas City in Week 9.
News: Notable Rams defenders in Week 6 vs. Seattle include: LB Will Witherspoon (10 tackles), LB Pisa Tinoisamoa (four tackles, sack) and DL Leonard Little (five tackles, forced fumble).
Analysis: All three Rams defenders are worth using on a regular basis in Fantasy IDP leagues. The Rams are on bye in Week 7 but play at San Diego in Week 8.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon suffered a slight ankle injury against Green Bay, but didn't miss a rep in practice Wednesday and is not listed on the injury report.
Analysis: Witherspoon has posted 35 tackles and two forced fumbles through five games. He simply gets it done on a weekly basis. He remains a must-consider Fantasy starter in IDP leagues.
News: Notable Rams defensive performances from Week 5 include: DT Jimmy Kennedy (seven tackles, sack), SS Corey Chavous (six solo hits), DE Leonard Little (two tackles, sack) and LB Will Witherspoon (five total tackles).
Analysis: Little, Witherspoon and Chavous remain Fantasy starters in IDP leagues, while Kennedy recorded his first sack of the season and easily his best game of the year. Don't use Kennedy on a regular basis.
News: In Week 4 vs. Detroit, Rams LB Will Witherspoon had eight solo tackles, as did DB Corey Chavous. CB Fakhir Brown had seven total tackles and LB Pisa Tinoisamoa had five total tackles and a sack despite playing with a sore arm.
Analysis: Witherspoon, Chavous and Tinoisamoa are worth owning in Fantasy play, while Brown is a marginal Fantasy cornerback. The Rams play at Green Bay in Week 5.
News: Turnovers was the name of the game in Week 3 between the Cardinals and Rams. Lucky for the Rams they were the team that forced the most turnovers resulting in a win. They intercepted Cardinals QB Kurt Warner three times and forced Warner to make a mental error on a QB-Center exchange late in the fourth quarter as the Cardinals were going for the winning score. The Rams allowed 347 yards and 14 points. LB Will Witherspoon, DB Corey Chavous and DL Victor Adeyanju all had six tackles. DB O.J. Atogwe, DB Fakhir Brown and LB Dexter Coakley all had interceptions.
Analysis: Outside of letting up 347 yards, the Rams defense played fairly well against a very explosive Cardinals offense. The Rams defense continue to show improvements, so consider them as a viable DST when the matchup is favorable. Week 4 might present that matchup as the Lions come to town.
News: Wil Weatherspoon had nine tackles and a forced fumble in the Rams' Week 1 win vs. Denver.
Analysis: Weatherspoon is an excellent option in all IDP formats for Week 2 at San Francisco.
News: The Charlotte Observer reports Wil Witherspoon has agreed to terms on a six-year contract worth $33 million with the St. Louis Rams.
Analysis: Witherspoon recorded 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, one TD, 81 tackles (66 solo) and 12 passes defensed last season in Carolina. He will be worth a late-round choice in IDP drafts.
News: Will Witherspoon recorded 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, one TD, 81 tackles (66 solo) and 12 passes defensed this season in Carolina.
Analysis: Witherspoon has developed into a decent No. 2 linebacker for owners and will be worth a late-round selection in 2006 IDP drafts.
News: Will Witherspoon recorded eight tackles (six solo) and one sack in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Analysis: Witherspoon is a nice IDP starter in leagues with 12-plus teams for Week 17 at Atlanta.
