News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch notes that the Rams have trimmed their roster down to the maximum 53 players on Saturday. Among those cut were: DE C.J. Ah You, RB Lance Ball, WR Reche Caldwell, CB David Macklin, LB Marc Magro, WR Derek Stanley, CB Darius Vinnett, FB Russ Weil and WR Brandon Williams.	Analysis: The players of note from the list above are Caldwell, Macklin and Vinnett. Caldwell is a former starter with the Chargers and could catch on elsewhere and help a team out at the receiver spot. If that happens, we'll let you know. Macklin has appeared in 116 games in 8 NFL seasons but has minimal Fantasy value even when on a roster. Vinnett played in eight games for the Rams last year but also has no Fantasy value without a team. None of the other aforementioned players have any Fantasy relevance at this time.

News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams are high on WR Reche Caldwell. The competition at wideout is stiff, but Caldwell, who had three receptions for 30 yards Saturday night in the 34-13 loss at Tennessee, forced himself into the picture. "He's playing through some aches and pains, just like everybody, but he made a couple of nice plays in the game," coach Scott Linehan said. "It's not surprising. I think Reche's a really good receiver." Caldwell, 29, was signed as a free agent in the offseason.	Analysis: Caldwell has a chance to serve as a No. 3 WR with the club, making him only worth a late-round pick in the deepest of Fantasy Football leagues.

News: The Rams agreed to contract terms with wide receiver Reche Caldwell on Tuesday, adding depth to the position. Caldwell got a one-year contract. The 28-year-old Caldwell played for the Washington Redskins last year when Al Saunders was that team's offensive coordinator. Saunders now has that job with the Rams.	Analysis: Caldwell caught 15 passes in eight games last year, with a 17.6-yard average. In 2006, he caught 61 passes with a 12.5-yard average and four touchdowns for New England. He spent his first four seasons with the Chargers after being selected in the second round of the 2002 draft. He'll likely serve as a No. 3 WR with the club, making him only worth a late-round pick in the deepest of Fantasy Football leagues.

News: According to a report on the NFL Network, the Rams have reached an agreement with free agent WR Reche Caldwell. Caldwell spent the 2007 season in Washington. Caldwell didn't do much in Washington last season, playing in eight games and catching 15 passes for 141 yards. His best season came in 2006 with the New England Patriots, when he caught 61 passes for 760 yards. Prior to 2006, Caldwell spent four seasons with the San Diego Chargers. In St. Louis, Caldwell is likely to compete for the third receiver position behind starters Torry Holt and Drew Bennett.	Analysis: Keep an eye on what develops with Caldwell and the Rams. If he wins the No. 3 spot with St. Louis he would be considered a low-end No. 4 Fantasy option.

Analysis: Caldwell has seen some PT in recent weeks, but is still not a huge factor in the Redskins' offensive gameplan. It is safe to leave him on Fantasy waivers heading into Week 17 against the Cowboys.

Randle El missed his third consecutive practice on Friday, opting to work with trainers to test his injured hamstring. He will likely be a game-time decision. "I think Antwaan is still holding out hope," Joe Gibbs told NFL.com. "He's a great competitor, so the closer it gets to game time the more he wants to go. He'll probably be one that we warm up on Sunday and make a decision based off of what he does."	Analysis: Randle El mentioned after Friday's workout that his hamstring felt "pretty good." "If I have any pain, then I'm not going to push it," he told NFL.com. "But I expect to come out Sunday morning, test it and see what it feels like." If Randle El can't play, then he will be replaced by the rotation of James Thrash, Brandon Lloyd, Keenan McCardell and Reche Caldwell. It is not recommended you rely on any of these players in Fantasy leagues for Week 6.

Analysis: Caldwell will probably be the fourth-string WR with the Redskins behind Brandon Lloyd and ahead of James Thrash. As with most fourth-string receivers, Caldwell has practically no Fantasy value. Washington heads to Philadelphia on Monday night for their Week 2 matchup.

News: Donte' Stallworth will be catching passes from Tom Brady instead of Donovan McNabb next year. Stallworth and the Patriots agreed Sunday on a multiyear contract. The deal was confirmed to The Associated Press by a person familiar with negotiations who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced. Stallworth leaves the Eagles after one season in which he caught 38 passes for 725 yards and five touchdowns in 12 regular-season games. He also had six catches for 141 yards and two scores in two playoff games. He has 233 career receptions for 3,516 yards and 28 TDs in 68 games.	Analysis: Stallworth's arrival means fewer passes for Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney, both of whom are career underachievers in the NFL. Once second-year receiver Chad Jackson gets his game together, Caldwell and Gaffney won't be useful in all but the deepest of Fantasy leagues. For now, Caldwell is at best a reserve Fantasy wideout, with Gaffney best suited for the waiver wire at this point.

In addition to his nine catches, Caldwell also caught a two-point conversion pass from Tom Brady in the fourth quarter to close the deficit to 17-14. Caldwell's nine receptions were the most by a Patriot this season. "I think I played OK, but we didn't win the game, and I think there were a few things I could have done better, so I didn't play well enough to win the game," Caldwell said. "We lose as a team, we win as a team."	Analysis: Caldwell now has caught 22 passes in the Patriots last four games and appears to becoming a favorite target of Tom Brady's. News: Patriots WR Reche Caldwell was on the opposite end of a vicious hit from Bengals safety Kevin Kaesviharn in Week 4, but the Patriots receiver appears to be doing fine. Caldwell remained on the ground for several minutes after the hit, before getting to his feet and walking off the field. The play drew a penalty for a personal foul even though the reply showed it appeared to be a legal, but brutal hit. "My first thought was it was a good hit, me being a defensive player," Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi said. "He's trying to pull the ball in and he got smashed, but a defenseless receiver and a blow to the head, the flag came out. It's nice that he was able to get up and walk off the field."	Analysis: Caldwell is working hard to become a vital part of the Patriots offense, but it doesn't seem to be paying off just yet. He is not a viable Fantasy option at this point.

News: Patriots WR Reche Caldwell has never caught more than 28 passes in a single season. The Patriots are hoping the new receiver can replace what David Givens did for them in the passing game. After one week, Caldwell is off to a slow start. He only caught two passes for 33 yards against the Bills. He knows he still has a lot of things to work on in order to improve; especially now that Deion Branch has left New England for good. "It felt good to go out there for the first time and play," Caldwell said. "I thought I played OK but I still have a lot more to learn. I need to get better everyday and improve everyday. I don't feel any pressure with Deion not being here. We just go out there and try to do our best. We'd love to have him but he's not here so we just go out there and play our game."	Analysis: Until Caldwell proves he can be a productive WR for QB Tom Brady, keep him reserved in all leagues.

News: The Seahawks have traded a 2007 first-round pick to the Patriots in exchange for WR Deion Branch, according to ESPNEWS. Branch held out during training camp and the preseason and had two grievances filed against the Patriots prior to the deal. With Tom Brady coming off a bad game against the Bills (11 of 23 passing for 163 yards, two TDs and an interception), this does not help the QB going forward.	Analysis: This puts more pressure on Brady, who will have to count on TE Ben Watson, WRs Troy Brown, Reche Caldwell, Doug Gabriel and Chad Jackson. Gabriel and Jackson were inactive against the Bills. Watson finished with a team-high three catches for 50 yards. Caldwell had two catches for 33 yards. And Brown had two catches for 18 yards and a TD. Brady is still a No. 1 Fantasy QB, but he needs his receivers to step up, starting this week against the Jets.

News: Patriots WR Reche Caldwell has been the only experienced wideout to practice every day with the team and already appears to be building a comfortable relationship with Tom Brady. He's caught just about everything thrown his way and remained healthy, good signs for a guy who'll be expected to carry a significant part of the receiving load from Day 1 this season.	Analysis: This is encouraging news for Caldwell, who is getting some great reps with WR Deion Branch holding out. Caldwell could play as a No. 2 receiver for New England, but considering his career-highs in receptions (28) and receiving yards (352), owners shouldn't expect too much from him. Make him your late-round sleeper if you'd like, but you will probably be able to snatch him off the waiver wire before the season if he plays well.

"Our offense is quite a bit different than the one that he was in, the terminology, the route conversions, things like that ... the systems are different. He's made a good adjustment there, he's got good receiving skills. It's not surprising to me. They're the same skills we saw in San Diego." Belichick did add that Caldwell has a lot to learn.	Analysis: For now, Caldwell has seen some prime time with the first-team unit thanks to Deion Branch holding out of camp for more money. He could play as a No. 2 receiver for New England, but considering his career-highs in receptions (28) and receiving yards (352), owners shouldn't expect too much from him. Make him your late-round sleeper if you'd like, but you will probably be able to snatch him off the waiver wire before the season if he plays well.
