News: The Rams have signed cornerback Danny Gorrer and waived wide receiver Tim Carter. Gorrer is a rookie who was on the practice squad for the Saints, who signed him as an undrafted free agent May 4. He was a two-year starter at Texas A&M where he had 141 tackles, two sacks, one interception, 13 passes defended and two forced fumbles. Carter had one catch for six yards in his two games with the Rams.
Analysis: Neither of these players were or are expected to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep them off of rosters for now.
News: Rams QB Keith Null, WR Tim Carter, WR Ruvell Martin, DB Anthony Smith and DL C.J. Ah You have all been listed as inactive for the team's Week 8 game against the Lions.
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy value and can continue to be ignored in all Fantasy formats.
News: St. Louis WR Tim Carter made one catch for 6 yards on Sunday in the team's Week 6 loss at Jacksonville.
Analysis: Carter is not a relevant Fantasy player and is not a recommended option for Week 7 against the Colts.
News: Rams WR Tim Carter (groin) was able to play during Thursday's preseason game against the Bengals. He had a pair of catches for nine yards. His longest reception went for five yards. He had three catches for 16 yards during the preseason.
Analysis: Injuries have been a big part of Carter's career and it has prevented him from tapping into his full potential. He seems destined for a role as a reserve receiver and that doesn't bode well in Fantasy. It's safe to ignore him.
News: St. Louis WR Tim Carter will have an MRI on his groin.
Analysis: Carter is not expected to make much of an impact with the Rams even if he does get a roster spot, so keep ignoring him in all formats.
News: With Rams WR Donnie Avery (foot) out at least four weeks, there is an opening for other receivers on the depth chart to step up. Coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday that Laurent Robinson, Tim Carter and Ronald Curry will all get a chance to make plays now that Avery is out for the early part of the season. Said Spagnuolo on Robinson and Carter: "I thought he (Robinson) came in to training camp in great shape, really ready. The attitude, the way he carried himself he was really ready to step up and I think he's done that. And Tim Carter, he legitimately has speed, and he's played in the league so he has experience. Hopefully the combination of those two things will help us out." As for Curry, who was acquired in a trade this offseason from Detroit, "He's done everything in his career, and he's an experienced guy. He's skilled."
Analysis: We don't think any of these receivers are worth drafting in most standard leagues, but in deep formats there could be a sleeper in the bunch. Keep an eye on Curry because of his experience, and Robinson could also be worth a flier. But there's not much hope for the passing game in St. Louis until Avery returns.
News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams are looking for help at the WR spot. Donnie Avery, Keenan Burton and Laurent Robinson finish the spring as the top three wideouts, but Burton has missed valuable practice time because of a hamstring injury. The report asks if there another Isaac Bruce or Torry Holt in that group, or among backups Brooks Foster, Tim Carter and Chad Lucas? "We have a ways to go," QB Marc Bulger said. "I don't think there will ever be another Torry and Isaac, but our guys are working hard. They're starting to make plays. I think they are playing faster now because they are starting to learn what's going on."
Analysis: Avery has the most potential of this group and should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy WR coming into the season. He's worth a mid-round pick. Burton and Robinson also have potential, but they are not worth drafting in most seasonal formats. Ignore Foster, Carter and Lewis coming into seasonal leagues this year on Draft Day.
News: On Tuesday, the Texans released veterans Tim Carter and Jameel Cook. Cook was recently arrested on a charge involving marijuana.
Analysis: Neither player was expected to post relevant stats this season. Keep them off Fantasy rosters until further notice.
News: The Texans announced the signings of seven-year veteran WR Tim Carter and young receiver Mark Simmons while releasing RB Arliss Beach.
Analysis: Carter has bounced around the NFL of late and is just looking for a roster spot somewhere. Don't expect him to be a difference-maker for the Texans. All three players are not worth Fantasy consideration at this time.
News: Browns WR Tim Carter appeared in 16 games in his first year in Cleveland in 2007 and finished with eight catches for 117 yards and one touchdown. Carter came to the Browns after five seasons with the Giants.
Analysis: Carter is a low-end Fantasy WR. He is third on the depth chart behind Braylon Edwards and Joe Jurevicius, but he doesn't get enough opportunities to help your Fantasy team. Don't plan on drafting Carter heading into 2008.
News: Browns WR Tim Carter had one catch for 7 yards Sunday at the Bengals.
Analysis: Carter is a low-end Fantasy WR and should not be used in Week 17 against the 49ers.
News: Browns WR Tim Carter did not have a catch Sunday against the Bills.
Analysis: Carter is a low-end Fantasy WR and should not be used in Week 16 at the Bengals.
News: Browns RB Charles Ali, WR Tim Carter, TE Darnell Dinkins and QB Brady Quinn didn't record statistics Week 14 at the Jets.
Analysis: These players don't contribute enough statistically to have value in Fantasy. Leave all on waivers.
News: Browns RB Jerome Harrison, WR Tim Carter, TE Darnell Dinkins and QB Brady Quinn all dressed, but failed to record an offensive stat Week 13 against the Cardinals.
Analysis: The Browns continue to be patient with Quinn and he will sit on the bench as long as Derek Anderson is healthy. Quinn is nothing more than a long-term Fantasy keeper. The remaining three players are merely reserves and are not a big part of the Browns offense. Ignore all of these players heading into Week 14 against the Jets.
News: Browns QB Brady Quinn, TE Steve Heiden and WR Tim Carter did not record a stat Sunday against Houston.
Analysis: None of these players are worth using in Fantasy leagues in Week 13 at Arizona.
News: Browns WR Tim Carter had one catch for 10 yards Sunday at Baltimore.

News: Browns RB Jerome Harrison, RB Charles Ali, WR Tim Carter, TE Darnell Dinkins and QB Brady Quinn didn't record statistics Week 9 against the Seahawks.

News: Browns WR Tim Carter caught one ball for 14 yards in Cleveland's 27-20 win over the Rams in Week 8.
Analysis: Carter caught a touchdown in Week 5, but he doesn't produce Fantasy stats on a consistent enough basis to have any Fantasy value at this time. Do not pick him up for Week 9 when Cleveland hosts Seattle.
News: Browns FB Charles Ali, TE Steve Heiden and WR Tim Carter all played in Cleveland's 41-31 win over the Dolphins in Week 6 but didn't record an offensive stat.
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy value at this time.
News: Browns WR Tim Carter picked up his first touchdown with Cleveland during a Week 5 loss to the Patriots. Carter, who came over in the offseason via a trade with the Giants, caught a 21-yard pass from Derek Anderson in the fourth quarter. He finished with three receptions for 50 yards.
Analysis: Carter came into the game with just two receptions for 36 yards. He outproduced himself in just one game. We will need to see a little more consistency from the sixth year receiver before recommending him in Fantasy play. The Browns play the Dolphins in Week 6.
News: WR Tim Carter and TE Darnell Dinkins both dressed in the Browns' 27-13 victory over the Ravens in Week 4 but didn't record an offensive stat.
Analysis: Neither Carter or Dinkins have any Fantasy value. The Browns play at the Patriots in Week 5.
News: Tim Carter was thrown to twice in Week 3 at Oakland, posting one reception for 14 yards.
Analysis: Carter is only worth a look in the deepest of Fantasy leagues as a reserve heading into Week 4 against the Ravens.
News: Browns WR Tim Carter caught one pass for 22 yards in Week 1 vs. Pittsburgh.
Analysis: It was Carter's first official game with the Browns, but he showed that he isn't going to be a major part of the offense. Leave him on the waiver wire for Week 2.
News:The Sports Xchange reports Browns WR Tim Carter was declared the third wide receiver ahead of Joshua Cribbs and Travis Wilson. Carter did not catch a pass in the preseason and never caught more than 22 in five years with the Giants.
Analysis: Carter came over to the Browns from New York in the Reuben Droughns trade and isn't expected to put up a lot of stats this season. Injuries have slowed his career and kept him from making an impact in the NFL. Leave him in Fantasy waiver wires until further notice.

News: Browns WR Tim Carter has been sidelined with a thumb injury. He has watched Browns special teamer Joshua Cribbs work in his place with some success.
Analysis: Carter came over to the Browns from New York in the Reuben Droughns trade and isn't expected to put up a lot of stats this season. Keep him off of Fantasy rosters for now.
News: Multiple sources report that the Giants and Browns have struck a deal where RB Reuben Droughns will go to New York in exchange for WR Tim Carter. Droughns was expendable after the Browns signed Jamal Lewis. In 14 games last year, the 28-year-old Droughns had 220 carries for 758 yards and four touchdowns with 169 receiving yards on 27 catches. Carter caught 22 passes for 253 yards and two scores last year.
Analysis: Droughns will enter a RB-by-committee situation with Brandon Jacobs, with it almost certain that Droughns won't see any goal-line carries. Consider Droughns a low-end No. 3 Fantasy RB at best knowing that his touchdown production will be very limited. Carter is not productive enough to consider using as other than a No. 5 WR in the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter caught 22 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns in 2006. Believe it or not, the two touchdowns were a career best in his five years in the NFL.
Analysis: Carter had a chance last season to shine in place of an injured Amani Toomer and didn't come up big. Ignore him outside of the deepest Fantasy Football drafts.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter had two catches for 14 yards in a Week 17 win over the Redskins.
Analysis: Carter has been a big disappointment since coming into the league and will likely return to his role as the team's No. 3 WR in 2007. He will be someone to ignore on Draft Day 2007.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter caught just one pass for nine yards in Week 16 vs. New Orleans.
Analysis: Despite starting in place of the injured Amani Toomer, Carter doesn't see enough looks to use in Fantasy play.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter caught four passes for 30 yards in Week 15 vs. Philadelphia.
Analysis: Carter is technically the team's No. 2 WR with Amani Toomer out for the season, but he remains a poor option in most formats for Week 16 at Dallas. He just isn't thrown to enough in the team's current offensive scheme.
News: With the Panthers missing both starting CBs Chris Gamble and Ken Lucas, look for the Giants to take to the air to move the football in Week 14. Rookie Richard Marshall and Christian Morton are expected to start at cornerback for Carolina.
Analysis: It's reasonable to assume that Eli Manning, Plaxico Burress, Jeremy Shockey and even Tim Carter (as a sleeper) will have big games against the Panthers banged-up secondary. Start these Giants in Week 14 Fantasy play.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter caught two passes for 21 yards in Week 13 vs. Dallas.
Analysis: Carter continues to start, but has not been a reliable Fantasy option -- not even close. Consider him only out of desperation in deeper leagues for Week 14 at Carolina.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter started in Week 12 at Tennesse, but did not have a single catch.
Analysis: He and QB Eli Manning have been unable to develop any kind of rapport even after Amani Toomer's injury propelled him into the starting lineup a few weeks ago. Consider Carter no more than a last-ditch replacement option for Week 13 vs. Dallas.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter (one catch, 26 yards in Week 11) hasn't done much despite his size and speed. He was the Giants' second-round pick five years ago from Auburn and despite all those skills it begins to look as though he might not make it to another season. He dropped a clear touchdown pass Monday night and that has happened far too frequently.
Analysis: Many had thought with Carter taking over for the injured Amani Toomer, he would be able to produce like his predeccesor. That has not happened and there is frustration all around. Carter might develop into a late-season sleeper, but keep him out of the lineup in the meantime.
News: Giants WRs Tim Carter and David Tyree each had two catches at Jacksonville in Week 11. Carter had 26 yards while Tyree had 15.
Analysis: Neither receiver is worth owning as anything more than a reserve in Fantasy play. Carter may develop into a No. 3 option as he takes over for Amani Toomer, but he shouldn't be starting.
News: The Giants annouced a lineup change to their offense for their game against the Jaguars on Monday night. WR Tim Carter will replace WR David Tyree as the team's No. 2 WR.
Analysis: Keep an eye on how well Carter does against the Jaguars in Week 11. It is not recommended you use him Week 11, but he could be a possible Fantasy option later in the season.
News: WR Tim Carter, FB Jim Finn (knee), WR Mike Jennings, RB/KR Chad Morton and RB Derrick Ward were able to play in Week 10 against the Bears but they did not record any offensive statistics.
Analysis: Backup QB Jared Lorenzen also dressed for the game but he did not play. None of the players are worth using in Week 11 at Jacksonville.
News: Giants WR Amani Toomer (torn ACL) will miss the remainder of the 2006 season. Toomer hurt his left knee vs. Houston in Week 9, according to Giants.com. "I didn't think anything of it," Toomer said. "It was very disappointing when I got the MRI. This happened before (as a rookie 10 years ago, Toomer underwent surgery after tearing his right ACL). So I kind of knew what it felt like when it happened." Expect Tim Carter and David Tyree to see extended playing time in Toomer's absence.
Analysis: Neither Carter nor Tyree have been consistent wide receivers for the Giants, but they should see more playing time in Toomer's absence. Carter may be the better option of the two, but neither player should be added as anything more than a flier in all leagues.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter caught just one pass for 15 yards in Week 9 vs. Houston while starting in place of Plaxico Burress.
Analysis: Carter was never a big part of the offense and the fact that he did nothing while starting does not bode well for future Fantasy considerations. Ignore him for Week 9.
News: Giants WR Plaxico Burress (back) was among the inactives for the Giants prior to their Week 9 game against Houston. Tim Carter got the start in his place.
Analysis: Carter could be a decent last-minute replacement option for Fantasy owners who are desperate. He'll be the fourth option behind Amani Toomer, Jeremy Shockey and Tiki Barber in the passing game, but could be in for some decent numbers.
News: Giants backup QB Jared Lorenzen, WR Mike Jennings, RB/KR Chad Morton, RB Derrick Ward, WR Tim Carter and David Tyree did not record an offensive statistic in Week 8 vs. Denver.
Analysis: None of these players should be considered for Week 9 vs. Houston.
News: Carter has just one reception for 14 yards in Week 7 at Dallas.
Analysis: Carter continues to be too far down the depth chart to matter in Fantasy play. The Giants host the Buccaneers in Week 8.

Analysis: Carter continues to be too far down the depth chart to matter in Fantasy play.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter caught four passes for 44 yards in Week 5 vs. Washington.
Analysis: Despite the decent game, he remains a player to stay away from in Fantasy play. He is far down the list of options in the Giants offense and won't be a reliable player from week to week. Don't consider him an option for Week 6 at Atlanta.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter caught three passes for 43 yards, including a 25-yard score in the fourth quarter in Week 3 at Seattle.
Analysis: The Giants No. 3 receiver is not a big enough part of the offense to be relied upon regularly. Don't expect him to give you healthy totals in Week 5 vs. Washington.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter (ankle) is listed as probable for Week 3 at Seattle.
Analysis: Carter is currently the Giants' No. 3 WR, but is the fifth receiving option (behind TE Jeremy Shockey and RB Tiki Barber) in the offense. He could be replaced by rookie Sinorice Moss in that capacity as well, so don't waste a roster spot on him.
News: Giants WR Tim Carter recovered a fumble in the end zone in Week 2 at Philadelphia for a TD. He also caught one pass for 22 yards.
News: TE Visanthe Shiancoe, WR Tim Carter, RB Jim Finn WR David Tyree and QB Jared Lorenzen were active but did not accumulate any Fantasy statistic in Week 1 against the Colts.
Analysis: None of these players are expected to have any value in Week 2 at Philadelphia.
News: WR Tim Carter, who was the Giants' second round draft pick in 2002 but has failed to remain healthy through his first four seasons, showed great electricity, stamina, speed and strength -- not to mention a healthy summer -- this year and might become the firepower they need as a third receiver. He is 6-0 and 190 with certifiable 4.37 speed, has good hands and has learned all the routes and cuts.
Analysis: Carter will start the season as the Giants' No. 3 WR, but may give way to Sinorice Moss during the year. Don't rely on him in Week 1 vs. Indianapolis.
News: WR Tim Carter, who has a world of talent but carries a suitcase full of nagging injuries, seems to be healthy this summer and it's showing in his performance. Right now he's the absolute third receiver behind Amani Toomer and Plaxico Burress, especially with the strained quad injury that has kept second-round draft pick Sinorice Moss off the practice field for most of the summer.
Analysis: Moss will likely overtake Carter as the team's No. 3 wideout at some point. Neither wideout warrants more than late-round consideration in drafts. Moss (quad) is likely to miss the third preseason game, Aug. 25 vs. the N.Y. Jets.

Analysis: Carter is not a recommended starter in most leagues.
News: Giants players are alluding to the possibility WR Tim Carter will get significantly more time at the expense of veteran Amani Toomer. Carter has only four catches this season for 75 yards.
Analysis: Carter is nothing more than a low-end flier in Fantasy leagues that use more than three wideouts. This is more of an FYI for those hoping to catch lightning in a bottle with Toomer. It looks like you can forget about Toomer rediscovering his magic at this point. He is Fantasy waiver fodder now.

News: The New York Post reports Tim Carter (hamstring) is questionable for Friday's preseason game against the Jets. "It's hard to compete when you're just half-speed, three-quarter speed," Carter said. "I hate doing it in practice, I can't even imagine myself doing it in a game."
Analysis: Carter has dealt with the ailment throughout the preseason.

"Supposedly the tempo is being picked up with him," Coughlin said of Carter. "These guys, you know, they prance around and then supposedly it's getting stronger."
