News: The Steelers cut versatile WR Antwaan Randle El on Thursday. Randle El, a college quarterback at Indiana who became a receiver in the NFL, threw a touchdown pass to Hines Ward to clinch Pittsburgh's win over Seattle in the 2006 Super Bowl. He parlayed his Super Bowl success into a lucrative contract with the Redskins, but struggled in four seasons in Washington before returning to Pittsburgh in 2010. He failed to make a significant impact, posting career lows in receptions (22) and yards (253) as his playing time diminished following the rise of wide receiver Mike Wallace.
Analysis: Randle El will look to sign with a new team, but he has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him in all leagues on Draft Day.
News: Pittsburgh WR Antwaan Randle El caught two passes for 50 yards in the Steelers' 31-25 loss to Green Bay in Super Bowl XLV on Sunday night. Randle El, who has been utilized mostly in special teams this season, also added a 2-point conversion on a nifty pitchout by QB Ben Roethlisberger to pull Pittsburgh within three points of the lead with 7:34 left in the game. He finished with two targets from Roethlisberger.
Analysis: Randle El has almost been a forgotten figure during his return season with the Steelers after spending the last four years with Washington. He had just 22 receptions during the regular season and notched multiple receptions in a game just six times. The veteran also failed to score a touchdown for the second straight year -- the only two occasions in his career. He is not worthy of a selection in 2011 Fantasy drafts.
News: Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El made his first catches in four weeks in a Week 14 win over Cincinnati. He finished with two grabs for 19 yards.
Analysis: Randle El has become an afterthought in the Steelers offense lately and can continue to be ignored in all Fantasy formats heading into Week 15 vs. the Jets.
News: Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El caught five passes for 66 yards in the Week 10 loss to the Patriots. Both marks were season-highs for the slot specialist. QB Ben Roethlisberger targeted him nine times.
Analysis: Randle El and the rest of Roethlisberger's targets were the product of the game situation after the Patriots extended their lead in the second half. New England's defense was in the prevent and the Steelers had freedom to rack up yards underneath. In Week 11, Randle El will look to contribute against the Raiders, who sport the NFL's second best pass defense. Unless the game becomes a shootout like Sunday night, we do not recommend using him in most formats heading into Week 11.
News: Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El showed he still has an arm in Week 9 against the Bengals. Randle El was able to hookup with Mike Wallace on a 39-yard touchdown strike on an trick play early in the fourth quarter that put Pittsburgh up 27-7. Ben Roethlisberger handed the ball off to Randle El on an end around, who then ran back across the field and was able to find Wallace in the end zone. It was his first touchdown pass of the season. Randle El also had 10-yard reception and a 2-yard rush in the contest.
Analysis: Randle El finally was able to find the end zone this season, but it didn't come the way most thought it would. The former quarterback showed he still has a little zip left in his arm, when he chucked the ball up for Wallace. Unfortunatley Randle El hasn't done much as a receiver this season, which has minimized his Fantasy value. He only has 12 receptions for 139 yards on the season and has not caught more than three passes in a single game. We do not recommend using him in most formats heading into Week 10.
News: Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El appeared to have scored a touchdown in the Week 8 game at New Orleans, but after a challenge by the Saints, it was determined that he was down at the 1-yard line. Randle El finished the night with three catches for 33 yards and was targeted a team-high (tied) six times.
Analysis: Randle El couldn't stretch the ball out before his elbow hit the turf and he was unable to score his first TD of the season. He continues to be a hit-or miss Fantasy player so theoretically he should be somewhat of a miss in Week 9 against the Bengals, so owners should continue to ignore him in Fantasy play.
News: Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El had just two catches for 50 yards in Week 4 against the Ravens, but that was enough for the team-high in each category. Steelers QB Charlie Batch threw for just 141 yards and no touchdowns against the No. 1 pass defense in the NFL.
Analysis: Randle El did most of his damage on a 34-yard catch, but there was little to write home about the Steelers passing game otherwise. He could get a boost once Ben Roethlisberger returns from his suspension following the bye in Week 5, but is not a receiver we recommend activating in any Fantasy league.
News: Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El got just one touch on offense in Week 2 at Tennessee. He caught one pass for no gain.
Analysis: Randle El finished Week 1 with just two catches for 8 yards. The lack of production has not been completely his fault, however. The Steelers passing game managed fewer than 50 net passing yards as QB Dennis Dixon was lost to a knee injury and Charlie Batch was rendered ineffective. Randle El could develop a more significant role when Ben Roethlisberger returns from his four-game suspension, but he is not yet a viable play in any format.
News: Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El failed to cash in on his opportunities in Week 1 against the Falcons. QB Dennis Dixon threw to Randle early, targeting him four times in the first half. But when Randle El caught just one pass for 4 yards in the half, Dixon didn't look his way much in the second half. Randle El finished the game with just two catches for 8 yards. He was targeted just once in the second half.
Analysis: Randle El is back with the Steelers after a failed experiment in Washington. He has produced 50 or more catches the last three seasons, so Randle El can be a possession receiver for the Steelers. But he isn't likely to threaten for 1,000 yards and his touchdowns will also likely be low. Randle El is not a recommended Fantasy option heading into Week 2 at Tennessee.
News: With the Steelers placing WR Limas Sweed on season-ending injured reserve, the team will look to rookie Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown and veterans Antwaan Randle El and Arnaz Battle to battle for playing time this summer. Sweed was in contention with these other players for the time and might have even been a favorite for it until he got hurt.
Analysis: Randle El has had good (not great) numbers previously in Pittsburgh, and his experience gives him a leg up on the rest of Pittsburgh's receiving options. If he finishes the summer as the Steelers' slot receiver he could conceivably pick up 50 catches this year, albeit with a nominal touchdown total. He's a better pick in leagues that include special-teams yardage than standard formats, but he's a late-round choice, if at all, in any league.
News: Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El will have the chance at putting up some added stats following the trade of Santonio Holmes to the Jets. Arnaz Battle and Limas Sweed will also compete for playing time.
Analysis: Randle El has never been a massive stat producer, going back to his initial stint with the Steelers, but he has caught 50 passes in each of his three seasons with the Redskins. Still, he's not worth drafting until he proves that he'll be a significant part of the Steelers' offense in 2010.
News: The Steelers re-signed wide receiver Antwaan Randle El, reuniting him with the team he helped win a Super Bowl with in 2005. But after that game he signed a $31 million, seven-year deal with the Redskins, where he essentially floundered for four seasons. He was released despite being Washington's second-leading receiver last season with 50 receptions, although none were for touchdowns.
Analysis: The move makes sense for the Steelers special teams, but we don't see him playing much on offense. Keep him off of standard Fantasy rosters.
News: Wide receiver Antwaan Randle El is among 10 players cut by the Washington Redskins on the eve of free agency as the Redskins cleared salary cap space in the first major moves under the new brain trust of general manager Bruce Allen and coach Mike Shanahan.
Analysis: Randle El has been a huge disappointment for the Redskins, getting 530 yards on 50 catches with no touchdowns last season and no more than 728 yards in any of his four years with Washington. Worse yet, Randle El was responsible for just 11 touchdowns over four years, and that includes one punt return and two passes. Randle El is nothing more than a low-end one-week option that you should be able to find off waivers during the season.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El finished the season with three catches for 20 yards in the Week 17 season-finale loss at San Diego.
Analysis: Randle El had his best game of the season Week 1 against the Giants and did not score a single touchdown on the year. He managed just three starts on the season and had his lowest receiving total since 2006. This was his first year without a touchdown catch. His value just dropped like a rock this year and he doesnt figure to enter 2010 with much. Avoid him on Draft Day 2010.
News: In the Redskins' Week 16 loss vs. the Cowboys, WR Antwaan Randle El caught three passes for 21 yards.
Analysis: Randle El doesn't touch the ball enough to warrant significant Fantasy use. Keep him off rosters.
News: Washington receiver Antwaan Randle El caught three passes for 25 yards in the Week 15 Monday night thrashing put on the Redskins by the Giants. His long grab went for 11 yards.
Analysis: Randle El isn't a starter for the Redskins these days, meaning he only gets a few grabs each week -- and rarely for significant yardage. Leave him on waivers for Week 16 against Dallas on Sunday night. Randle El caught five passes for 45 yards against the Cowboys during their Week 11 matchup.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El -- who had 73 receiving yards, his most since Week 1, last week -- had only one catch for 6 yards Week 14 at Oakland. He also lost a fumble.
Analysis: Randle El isn't a starter for the Redskins these days, meaning he only gets a few grabs each week -- and rarely for significant yardage. Leave him on waivers for Week 15 against the Giants.
News: The Washington Times reports Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El has a "clavicle separatation" from his shoulder injury in Week 13 against New Orleans, which forced him to leave the game. Coach Jim Zorn said Monday he's already "bouncing around" and shouldn't miss any time heading into Week 14 at Oakland.
Analysis: We expect Randle El to play against the Raiders, but he has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. Don't plan on using him in the majority of leagues against the Raiders.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught four passes for 73 yards in one of his best games in a while in Week 13. The Redskins still lost in overtime to the Saints. Randle El did not score and had a long catch of 44 yards before leaving with a sprained shoulder.
Analysis: Randle El is always good for at least three catches and around 20-50 yards per game. That said, he has zero touchdowns and doesnt have more than 98 receiving yards in any game all season and that game came back in Week 1. He hasnt gone over 45 yards since. Hes not worth using in Week 14 at Oakland.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught just two passes for 19 yards in the Week 12 loss at Philadelphia.
Analysis: Randle El is always good for at least three catches and around 20-50 yards per game. That said, he has zero touchdowns and doesnt have more than 98 receiving yards in any game all season and that game came back in Week 1. He hasnt gone over 45 yards since. Hes not worth using in Week 13 against the Saints.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El hauled in five catches for 45 yards in the Week 11 loss at Dallas. His long went for 13 yards in the game.
Analysis: Randle El also had 45 yards in Week 10 against Denver. Randle El has at least three catches in four straight games but hasn't gone for over 45 yards since Week 1 of the season. He has no touchdowns on the year and only brings low-end Fantasy appeal to the table. Leave him on the bench or on waivers for Week 12 at Philadelphia.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught three passes for 45 yards in the Week 10 win over Denver.
Analysis: Randle El has at least three catches in three straight games but hasn't gone for over 45 yards since Week 1 of the season. He has no touchdowns on the year and only brings low-end Fantasy appeal to the table. Leave him on the bench or on waivers for Week 11 at Dallas.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught three passes for 28 yards Week 9 in a loss at Atlanta. His long went for 13 yards.
Analysis: Randle El hasn't seen more than 39 yards receiving since Week 1 of the season and hasn't scored a touchdown this year. The Redskins passing game has been a joke and Randle El should be dropped off all Fantasy rosters at this point. Don't use him Week 10 against Denver.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught five passes for 39 yards Week 7 on Monday night as the Redskins lost to the Eagles. His long went for 17 yards and he did not score. Randle El also had a rare poor game returning punts as he fumbled one away.
Analysis: Randle El caught seven passes for 98 yards Week 1. Monday's game against the Eagles has been his best production since that game. Clearly, you do not need to use him in Fantasy play. Plus, Washington has a bye Week 8.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught two passes for 23 yards in a Week 6 loss to the Chiefs. He also fumbled.
Analysis: Randle El went for 98 yards on seven grabs Week 1 but has really done less and less each week since. He didn't make a grab at all Week 4 against Tampa Bay and is not a recommended Fantasy option for Week 7 against the Eagles. The Washington passing game is just too bad for Randle El to get consistent looks.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught three passes for 28 yards Week 5 in a loss at Carolina. His long catch went for 12 yards.
Analysis: Randle El went for 98 yards on seven grabs Week 1 but has really done less and less each week since. He didn't make a grab at all last week against Tampa Bay and is not a recommended Fantasy option for Week 6 against Kansas City. The Washington passing game is just too bad for Randle El to get consistent looks.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El failed to make a reception in Week 4 against Tampa Bay. The Redskins won the game but quarterback Jason Campbell barely looked his way.
Analysis: It has been all down hill since Randle El caught seven passes for 98 yards in Week 1. He caught four passes for 39 yards Week 2 and just two passes for 21 yards Week 3 and went without a catch against the Bucs. Washington has enough trouble getting it to top options Santana Moss and Chris Cooley. Leave Randle El as a last-resort Fantasy option for Week 5 at another dismal defense in Carolina.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught two passes for 21 yards in Week 3's loss to the Lions.
Analysis: Randle El now has 13 receptions for 158 yards on the season. Still, after totaling 98 yards in Week 1, he's disappeared as Jason Campbell's favorite option over the next two weeks. Randle El is as low-end as it gets in Fantasy play and we don't recommend him in Week 4 at home against Tampa Bay.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El will face a non-division opponent in Week 3 at Detroit. The Lions have allowed the most passing touchdowns in the NFL through the first two weeks of the season, giving up eight. They have allowed the ninth most passing yards in the NFL.
Analysis: Most of the yards and touchdowns against the Lions came in Week 1 when Drew Brees of the Saints torched them for six touchdowns and over 300 yards. However, the matchup remains a very favorable one for the Redskins and perhaps will be just what the doctor ordered for QB Jason Campbell. Randle El is a sleeper for deep formats due to the matchup. He did have seven catches for 98 yards in Week 1 at the Giants and has had at least four catches in his first two games of the season.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught four passes for 22 yards in Week 2's win over the Rams. Randle El had a long catch of 9 yards.
Analysis: After two games, Randle El has 11 catches, which leads all Washington wide receivers. He's gone for 110 yards but 98 of them came in Week 1's loss to the Giants. He has yet to score and the Redskins are having lots of trouble throwing to receivers. That is why, even against a poor pass defense Week 3 in Detroit, we can only call Randle El a very low-end Fantasy option. He is barely worth owning in all but the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: When Antwaan Randle El lines up in the slot, he can have lots of choices. "You have a freedom," the Washington Redskins receiver said. "Four or five different options. Break out, break in, stop, come back ..." Playing the position requires plenty of savvy and a special rapport with the quarterback, who has to know which way his receiver is going to break. The receiver on the outside? His options are limited because of the sideline. Not the guy going across the middle. Randle El seems made for the role, and maybe that's why his demotion might actually be more of a promotion. He's been supplanted as a starter this season by second-year wideout Malcolm Kelly, but that's mostly semantics. When there are three receivers on the field -- and that happens quite a bit in the NFL -- Randle El will usually be out there. On Sunday, in his first game as the No. 3, Randle El was actually No. 1 -- leading the Redskins with 98 yards receiving on seven catches in the 23-17 loss to the New York Giants. It was a more productive game than any he had as a starter last year. "I wanted to be the starter," Randle El said. "But, of course, it didn't happen and then I just transferred my focus."
Analysis: With Santana Moss drawing double teams on the outside and Kelly ineffective in his first NFL start, Randle El and tight end Chris Cooley did the heavy lifting in the passing game. Randle El said he found himself shadowed by linebackers -- a receiver's dream -- and 56 of his yards came after the catch. "We knew that was a matchup we were going to have to win because of what they do to our outside receivers," quarterback Jason Campbell said. "If you look back to the days when he was in Pittsburgh, he was exceptional as a slot receiver. That's where he made a lot of his big plays. He can play outside, too, but in order for him to use most of his speed and quickness, it's a good job for him to play in the slot." Of course, the St. Louis Rams now have a game's worth of video on Randle El being productive in the slot. They are sure to try to take that away when the teams meet Sunday, while still keeping a rein on Moss. "It could be a total different ball of wax depending on what they try to do, taking me away in the slot," Randle El said. "That's kind of the thing we're getting to, because you can trap me, but if me and 'Tana are on the same side, somebody's got to cover that (No.) 89 out there." Randle El remains a very low-end Fantasy start for Week 2. We would like to see some consistency before heavily recommending him in Fantasy.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El, who lost the starting job to Malcolm Kelly this preseason, led the team with seven catches for 98 yards in the season opener at the Gaints.
Analysis: Randle El proved he still has something to contribute, and he looks like the more valuable Fantasy option than Kelly even if Kelly is the technical starter. Still, Randle El has never had as many as 800 yards receiving in a season and isn't much of a red-zone target. He's just a desperation play in Week 2, even with a good matchup against the Rams.
News:Malcolm Kelly has won the three-way battle for the Redskins' No. 2 receiver. Coach Jim Zorn said Wednesday that Kelly earned the nod ahead of veteran Antwaan Randle El and fellow second-year player Devin Thomas. Kelly was limited by a knee injury as a rookie a year ago but has come on fairly strong this preseason. Randle El will move to the slot on passing downs while Thomas is expected to work as a situational deep threat.
Analysis: For now, neither Randle El nor Thomas are worth owning in Fantasy play outside of the deepest of leagues. They'll have a shot to get stats later on this year if Kelly can't stay healthy. Because of his speed, Thomas has more potential than Randle El.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El was able to play in Thursday's game against the Jaguars. He made one catch in the game for 10 yards. Randle El was considered questionable for the game with an ankle injury.
Analysis: Randle El gets lots of playing time with the Redskins but doesn't get too many balls thrown his way, which is a rarity in the NFL. He is only worth using in the deepest of Fantasy formats but should be healthy enough to play Week 1.
News: WR Antwaan Randle El has a slightly sprained ankle following the Redskins' preseason game vs. New England. He's expected to be fine for the start of the regular season.
Analysis: Randle El is the rare NFL receiver who sees regular playing time but doesn't total enough stats to warrant Fantasy use outside of the deepest of leagues. For instance, he has eight touchdowns over his three seasons with Washington. He's only worth taking late in drafts.
News: Redskins coach Jim Zorn is fond of WR Antwaan Randle El, who is competing for the starting job opposite Santana Moss. Randle El is trying to hold off Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly, and it appears Zorn is on his side. "I always told him, 'You can not get injured, we have to have you.' He's practicing everyday and every play. He's got a little wear and tear, but he keeps going. He's a great football player, leader and person for our football team, and I think our team respects him so his presence out there is just perfect for what we've got to do."
Analysis: While Randle El might start, he has minimal Fantasy value. Keep an eye on if he remains in the starting lineup, but Randle El is only worth drafting in deep formats with a late-round pick.
News: Redskins coach Jim Zorn said Friday that Devin Thomas is ahead of Malcolm Kelly as the two receivers try to come back from injuries, which ruined their rookie year in 2008. "I would say that Devin is a bit ahead of Malcolm, but Malcolm right now is going to continue to accelerate," Zorn said. "He's also learning some of the details not just learning the overall picture. He's probably further ahead than I thought he would be coming out here. I'm excited he's competing, he's just working on some of the details to get himself open a little bit better." Zorn said Thomas has a chance for a starting job, which would mean he could overtake Antwaan Randle El. "We have a lot of confidence in where he's headed," Zorn said of Thomas. "I think Malcolm Kelly is coming on, Devin is showing that he is a little more seasoned than Malcolm right now, but they're both going to be competing and Antwaan is not going to give it up, so we're having great competition at that flanker position especially with those two guys."
Analysis: We still need to see Thomas and Kelly on the field and how each are doing, but it appears like Thomas is a WR to target with a late-round pick in deeper leagues. Randle El remains the starter for now, but he also is worth a late-round flier.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El found the end zone in Week 17's loss to San Francisco. Randle El caught a Jason Campbell pass and took it six yards and stretched out to get into pay dirt. He finished with three catches for 16 yards.
Analysis: Randle El is a frustrating Fantasy player because he's never consistent. He can have a big week and then do nothing in five straight. He's mostly a return man for Washington who has differing roles doing whatever the Redskins need on offense. He finished the year with 53 catches for 593 yards and four touchdowns and was just too inconsistent to use weekly in Fantasy. That is how he should be viewed going into 2009 with Washington.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El recorded just one catch in Week 16 against the Eagles for 11 yards. This is the second straight week that Randle El has finished with just one catch.
Analysis: Randle El is not considered productive or consistent enough to be anything more than a low-end desperation starter for his Week 17 matchup at San Francisco. There is always the possibility he'll break out or score but you can never predict when that will happen and more often than not, it doesn't.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El made one grab for nine yards in Week 15's loss to the Bengals. Randle El also returned punts for the Redskins.
Analysis: Randle El is not considered productive or consistent enough to be anything more than a low-end desperation starter for his Week 16 matchup at home against the Eagles. He caught three passes for 34 yards against the Eagles in Week 5 at Philly.
News: In the Redskins' 24-10 loss at the Ravens in Week 14, WR Antwaan Randle El came up with a touchdown, his third receiving TD of the season, with five catches for 47 yards. The five catches were a team high in the game.
Analysis: Randle El's nice output is nice, but he's not considered productive or consistent enough to be anything more than a low-end desperation starter for his Week 15 matchup at Cincinnati, which is favorable but risky for Fantasy owners given Randle El's up-and-down production.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught four passes for 37 yards in Week 13's loss at home against the New York Giants. Randle El caught a long pass of 17 yards but was often lost as the Redskins spent most of the game on the ground. Washington even scored on an end around in the game but it was rookie wideout Devin Thomas who ran it and not the former Steelers all-purpose star. Randle El did throw one pass. He finished 1-for-1 for 17 yards.
Analysis: Randle El makes anywhere from one to five catches on a given week. He's yet to go for over 100 yards and has just two touchdowns. Randle El has never been a consistent stat producer, which has been his downfall in Fantasy play. Frankly, there are better wide receiver options available in many leagues, so consider cutting the versatile veteran and go with a better player in Week 14 at Baltimore.
News: Redskins QB Jason Campbell converted a Matt Hasselbeck interception into a 17-10 lead with a deft, 8-yard touchdown pass while backpedalling to WR Antwaan Randle El, who beat Deon Grant across the middle and then across the goal line. It was Randle El's second score of the season and first in seven games. He finished with two catches for 18 yards and the TD.
Analysis: Randle El has never been a consistent stat producer, which has been his downfall in Fantasy play. Frankly, there are better wide receiver options available in many leagues, so consider cutting the versatile veteran and go with a better player in Week 13 at home against the Giants.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El is questionable for Week 12 at Seattle with a sprained ankle. "He was a little ginger," coach Jim Zorn said, "but I think by game time he'll be ready to go."
Analysis: Randle El has never been a consistent stat producer, which has been his downfall in Fantasy play. Frankly, there are better wide receiver options available in many leagues, so consider cutting the versatile veteran and go with a better player.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El missed practice because of an ankle injury Thursday as the team prepares for Week 12 at Seattle. He had only one catch for 24 yards in Week 11.
Analysis: Randle El has never been a consistent stat producer, which has been his downfall in Fantasy play. Frankly, there are better wide receiver options available in many leagues, so consider cutting the versatile veteran and go with a better player.
News: In the Redskins' 14-10 loss vs. the Cowboys in Week 11, WR Antwaan Randle El caught one pass for 24 yards and attempted a pass that fell incomplete.
Analysis: Randle El has never been a consistent stat producer, which has been his downfall in Fantasy play. Frankly, there are better wide receiver options available in many leagues, so consider cutting the versatile veteran and go with a better player. Randle El should only be owned in the deepest of Fantasy Football leagues. The Redskins play at the Seahawks in Week 12.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught three passes for only 22 yards Week 9 against the Steelers. He now has less than 50 yards receiving in six of his team's nine games.
Analysis: Randle El also has less than 60 yards receiving in eight of his team's nine games -- and only one touchdown to boot. The Redskins just don't have an explosive enough passing attack for their second receiver to produce worthy Fantasy numbers. The Redskins have a bye in Week 10, but consider Randle El just a low-end option Week 11 against the Cowboys.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught three passes for 47 yards in the Redskins Week 8 win over Detroit.
Analysis: Randle El is good for 3-5 catches per game and anywhere from 40 to about 75 receiving yards. He'll be hard pressed to ever go over 100 receiving yards and only has one touchdown on the season. That makes him a very low-end WR option in Fantasy and a low-end 'flex' option as well. He's not recommended against his former team, the Steelers, in Week 9.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught four passes for 56 yards on Sunday of Week 7 against Cleveland.
Analysis: Randle El got his customary 4-to-7 catches per game in Week 7. He's going to do this every week and he'll occasionally get into the end zone. That said, he'll never be consistent and is only a flex option in Fantasy. He's mostly a low-end receiving option and should be viewed as such for Week 8 at Detroit.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El led the Redskins in receiving in Week 6 against the Rams. Randle El caught five passes for 87 yards.
Analysis: Randle El will be up and down all season. He caught a touchdown pass in Week 4, threw a touchdown pass in Week 5 and led the team in receiving in Week 6. That said, he'll never be consistent and is only a flex option in Fantasy. He's mostly a low-end receiving option and should be viewed as such for Week 7 against the Browns.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught just three passes for 34 yards in Week 5's win over the Eagles. Randle El did throw a touchdown pass, however, to Chris Cooley in the third quarter that went for 18 yards.
Analysis: Randle El has a perfect quarterback rating in his career. He threw another completed pass in Week 3. That's how Randle El gets used. He returns punts, he catches some passes and he'll throw some passes and be involved in some trickery. That sounds good, but he doesn't do any of that enough to be considered in most Fantasy leagues. He's mostly a low-end receiving option and should be viewed as such for Week 6 against the Rams.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El got his customary four or five touches on Sunday against the Cowboys. Randle El rushed once for five yards and caught four passes for 36. Quarterback Jason Campbell hit Randle El in the end zone for a 2-yard score in the second quarter.
Analysis: That's how Randle El gets used. He returns punts, he catches some passes and he'll throw some passes and be involved in some trickery. That sounds good, but he doesn't do any of that enough to be considered in most Fantasy leagues. He's mostly a low-end receiving option and should be viewed as such for Week 5's game at Philadelphia.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught three passes for 23 yards on Sunday in Week 3 against the Cardinals. Randle El, a former Indiana quarterback in college, also threw a pass for the Redskins. Randle El found Chris Cooley for an 11-yard pickup.
Analysis: That's how Randle El gets used. He returns punts, he catches some passes and he'll throw some passes and be involved in some trickery. That sounds good, but he doesn't do any of that enough to be considered in most Fantasy leagues. He's mostly a low-end receiving option and should be viewed as such for Week 4's game against Dallas.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El caught four passes for 53 yards on Sunday against the Saints. Randle El went for a long of 17 yards. He also returned four punts for an average of 5.8 yards per return but fumbled away one of his attempts.
Analysis: Randle El will be used like this all season long. He'll get some catches and the occasional touchdown but is mostly a low-end receiving option. That's how he should be viewed heading into Week 3 against the Cardinals in Washington.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught seven of the nine passes thrown his way by QB Jason Campbell in a Week 1 loss to the Giants. The seven catches were a team high, as well as Randle El's 73 yards. His longest gain went for 26 yards, but Randle El was kept out of the end zone.
Analysis: Randle El came into the game as probable with a minor hand injury sustained in the preseason, but had no problems Thursday. Campbell did a nice job finding his secondary receiver as Santana Moss drew most of the key coverage. This could end up being a developing trend for Washington, so keep an eye on Randle El's status. He remains a low-end Fantasy WR heading into Week 2 against the Saints.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (hand) is active for Week 1 at N.Y. Giants. He went through full practices all week. Randle El had five catches for 59 yards and one touchdown in the preseason and caught two passes for 32 yards against the Giants in 2007.
Analysis: Randle El injured his wrist early in the preseason and avoided a possible serious problem to remain in the active lineup for Washington. He had 51 catches for 728 yards and one touchdown in 2007 for the Redskins last season, but is expected to play a bigger role in Jim Zorn's offense in 2008. He remains a low-end Fantasy WR for Week 1.

News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El was back in action for Saturday's preseason contest against the Panthers and caught two passes for nine yards.
Analysis: Randle El had 51 catches for 728 yards and one touchdown in 2007 for the Redskins. He is at best a low-end Fantasy WR heading into the season, but make sure he's healthy and ready for the year.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El, who was questionable for Saturday's preseason game against the Jets, did not play for the Redskins. He's still out with a wrist injury.
Analysis: Randle El had 51 catches for 728 yards and one touchdown in 2007 for the Redskins. He is at best a low-end Fantasy WR heading into the season, but make sure he's healthy and ready for the year.
News: The Washington Post reports Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (hamstring) sat out practice again Wednesday and could be a game-time decision against the Jets. Randle El had his left wrist wrapped because someone stepped on it Saturday.
Analysis: Randle El had 51 catches for 728 yards and one touchdown in 2007 for the Redskins. He is at best a low-end Fantasy WR heading into the season, but make sure he's healthy and ready for the year.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El, injured in Saturday's preseason game against the Bills, isn't expected to miss any practice time after X-rays on his right wrist came back negative.
Analysis: The Redskins dodged a bullet with Randle El and will be able to keep one of their top playmakers on the field. Randle El had 51 catches for 728 yards and one touchdown in 2007 for the Redskins. He hasn't exactly been the free agent catch the team expected when they lured him away from Pittsburgh in 2006. That could all change in 2008 now that Jim Zorn is running the show and has brought a West Coast style offense to the capital. Randle El is at best a low-end Fantasy WR heading into the season.
News: Redskins receiver Antwaan Randle El hurt his right wrist in the first quarter of Saturday's game against the Bills. Randle El caught three passes for 30 yards before going out. X-Rays were negative.
Analysis: Randle El should be just fine for the start of the regular season. Fantasy owners have long been drawn to Randle El because of his versatility, but he's never delivered consistent stats. Even with Zorn's West-Coast offense, Randle El isn't expected to make a huge Fantasy impact. Expect him to go undrafted in most leagues this summer.
News: The Washington Times reports that Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El is motivated to play well and not be a failure in Washington after two lackluster seasons. He's re-energized by the addition of new head coach Jim Zorn, who promises that Randle El will do better than the 51-catch season he had a year ago. "[Antwaan will] catch more than 51 balls," Zorn said. "It's just going to happen. He has been outstanding. For a guy that's come off a knee [injury], he's got a real hop in his step."
Analysis: Randle El scored the first touchdown of the 2008 preseason on a 20-yard deep crossing route vs. the Colts and expects more scores this season. Fantasy owners have long been drawn to Randle El because of his versatility, but he's never delivered consistent stats. Even with Zorn's West-Coast offense, Randle El isn't expected to make a huge Fantasy impact. Expect him to go undrafted in most leagues this summer.
News: Redskins QB Jason Campbell made a nice debut in Sunday's Hall of Fame game, starting and completing all five of his attempts for 61 yards and a 20-yard touchdown strike to Antwaan Randle El. Randle El had all of one touchdown last season, so he was understandably excited about his score, as was Campbell. "Randle El ran a good route, but it was opened up by Santana (Moss) running a great post route," Campbell said after the game. "The offensive line did a great job of protecting. I just had to step up into the pocket and give him an accurate throw."
Analysis: Despite the touchdown, Randle El has never met lofty expectations over his career and is more of a one-week replacement WR you can pick up off the waiver wire once the season starts. Don't sink a draft pick into him unless you're in a deep league that counts special-teams yardage.
News: According to the official team site, Washington's special teams coordinator Danny Smith said that Rock Cartwright is slated to keep his kickoff return duties and Antwaan Randle El will remain the punt return specialist, barring any unforeseen changes.
Analysis: Randle El returned 34 punts for a 6.1-yard average last year, that was the lowest number of his career. He could definitely rebound those numbers and the 'Skins DST could be very good in 2008. Still, that might actually lower his value as a receiver because the Redskins will ask him to do both. This is good news only in Fantasy leagues that include punt return yards and touchdowns with receiver Fantasy points.
News: The Washington Post reports Redskins starting WR Antwaan Randle El, who had minor arthroscopic knee surgery early this month, said that his recovery is going well and that he hopes to begin running shortly.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Randle El because he now has competition from rookies Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas, who will both try to start ahead of Randle El. When healthy, Randle El is a low-end Fantasy option in 2008.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El had arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday and is expected to recover in time for training camp. Coach Jim Zorn said an MRI discovered a "floating body" that was causing an irritation in Randle El's knee. Zorn gave a preliminary estimate of a recovery time of three to four weeks, which means Randle El could be back on the field for offseason practices in June. Training camp begins in mid- to late-July. "When they went in, whatever they found they will fix, and we will get him back going," Zorn said.
Analysis: Randle El set career highs in receptions (51) and receiving yards (728; 14.3 avg.) in 2007. However, that's where the highs end as Randle El only accounted for one receiving touchdown, scored in Week 16. He also completed a 19-yard pass (he tried two tosses) and totaled minus-3 yards on four catches. Randle El will be playing catchup with a pair of tall rookies this summer and shouldn't be counted on to develop into a bigger stat producer. Think bye-week replacement in deeper leagues in 2008, making him nothing more than a late-round pick in deeper drafts.

He also completed a 19-yard pass (he tried two tosses) and totaled minus-3 yards on four catches.
Analysis: Randle El should continue to be a prominent member of the Redskins offense, but won't ever amass huge stats for your Fantasy team. Think bye-week replacement in deeper leagues in 2008, making him nothing more than a late-round pick in deeper drafts.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El finished 2007 with a three-catch, 26-yard performance Week 17 against the Cowboys. He went without a touchdown for the 14th time in 15 games.
Analysis: Randle El opened the season with a 162-yard game but only once had more than 66 yards the rest of the way. Consider him a low-end Fantasy option going into the playoffs and a late-round flier at best on Draft Day 2008.
News: It took him 14 games, but Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El finally notched his first receiving touchdown of the 2007 season during a Week 16 win against the Vikings. Randle El finished the game with five catches for 66 yards and found the end zone on a 15-yard catch in the second quarter. However, Todd Collins didn't throw it. Clinton Portis was the throwee on a halfback option.
Analysis: Randle El was held without a touchdown Week 15 against the Giants, but rebounded in a big way against the Vikings. Randle El finally seems over a hamstring injury that bothered him for most of the season. Consider him a No. 4 Fantasy WR for Week 17 against the Cowboys.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El made his 11th start Week 15 against the Giants, but was held without a catch for the second time in 14 games. Both catch-less performances have come in his last three games.
Analysis: Randle El has been bothered by a hamstring injury since early in the season and it has really effected his production. Now that an unreliable Todd Collins is under center, it might be best to leave Randle El out of active Fantasy lineups Week 16 against the Vikings.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El shook off a hamstring injury to play Week 14 against the Bears. He caught four passes for 60 yards, but was kept out of the end zone. His longest reception went for 22 yards. Randle El injured the hamstring Week 12 against the Bucs and was inactive Week 13 against the Bills.
Analysis: Randle El has been bothered by a hamstring injury since early in the season and it has really effected his production. He does have four or more receptions in three of his last four games, but hasn't tallied more than 60 yards in any of those contests. He is merely a No. 4 Fantasy WR heading into Week 15 against the Giants.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (hamstring) is listed as probable for Week 14 vs. Chicago. He did not play Week 13 against the Bills and has not recorded a reception since Week 11 against the Cowboys.
Analysis: Randle El has been bothered by a hamstring injury since early in the season and it has really effected his production. He is nothing more than a No. 4 Fantasy WR heading into Week 14 against the Bears.
News: After flying back from Taylor's funeral Monday night, the Redskins did only an extended walk-through Tuesday. WR Antwaan Randle El (hamstring) and FB Mike Sellers (back) did participate in the walk-through. They are considered questionable for Week 14 vs. Chicago on Thursday at this point.
Analysis: Randle El is no better than a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR in Week 14, if he plays.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (hamstring) was inactivated for Week 13 vs. Buffalo.
Analysis: Randle El has minimal Fantasy value even when healthy. Continue to monitor his status and hope he can return for Week 14 against Chicago.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (hamstring) went through limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 13 vs. Buffalo. Randle El, who was having the best season of his career before he hurt his hamstring in the Oct. 7 game against Detroit, aggravated it early Week 12 and did not return at Tampa Bay. He was held without a catch.
Analysis: Had Randle El not pulled up lame earlier this season, he might still be considered the top wide receiver in Washington. He heads into Week 13 as a low-end Fantasy flier. Don't expect him to be a Fantasy asset this week.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (hamstring) went through limited practice reps Wednesday and Thursday as the team prepares for Week 13 vs.
Continue to track his progress.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El, who was having the best season of his career before he hurt his hamstring in the Oct. 7 game against Detroit, aggravated it early Sunday and did not return at Tampa Bay. He was held without a catch.
Analysis: Randle El has minimal Fantasy value even when healthy. Continue to monitor his status and hope he can return for Week 13 against Buffalo.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El ran one time for one yard in Washington's 19-13 loss to Tampa Bay in Week 12. He was held without a catch.
Analysis: Randle El was a forgotten man Sunday as Washington fell in Florida. He was only targeted twice by QB Jason Campbell on the day. Luckily, many of you benched him in Week 12 as he was only starting in eight percent of leagues. You should all probably continue to bench him in Week 13 against the Bills.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (chest) is listed as probable for Week 12 at Tampa Bay. He took full practice reps Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Randle El has not turned in a 100-yard performance since Week 5 against the Lions and has 13 receptions for 111 yards with zero touchdowns in three November games.
Analysis: Randle El has been one of the Redskins' best receiving options in 2007, but that is not saying much. He is still too inconsistent to use outside of larger Fantasy leagues. He will be going up against one of the top pass defenses in the NFL in Tampa Bay, so consider using other alternatives Week 12.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (clavicle) was limited in practice Thursday.
Analysis: Continue to monitor Randle El's status to see how he does. If healthy, consider him a No. 4 Fantasy option against the Bucs, who are No. 3 in pass defense with seven touchdowns allowed and 11 interceptions.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El had seven catches for 53 yards in Week 11 at Dallas. He also threw and completed a pass for 19 yards and rushed the ball once for no gain.
Analysis: Randle El, the former college quarterback at Indiana, is used for reverses and trick plays occasionally, but it's not something Fantasy owners can rely on. Randle El, the receiver, is useful as little more than a No. 3 option in leagues of 14-plus teams or as an injury replacement. In Week 12, the Redskins travel to Tampa Bay.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El had two 100-yard receiving performances in his first four games this season, but hasn't had more than five receptions or 55 yards in any of his five games since then. Washington play at Dallas in Week 11.
Analysis: Randle El was a hot waiver wire pickup earlier this season, but folks will be kicking themselves for thinking he could keep his torrid pace up. He barely made our rankings this week and should only be starting in deep, deep leagues in Week 11.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught five passes for 44 yards vs. Philadelphia in Week 10, covered mostly by CB Lito Sheppard. Teammate James Thrash stole the show with two touchdowns.
Analysis: Randle El continues to disappoint after a fluky start to the season. He shouldn't start as anything more than a low-end 'flex' or No. 4 Fantasy WR when he plays at Dallas in Week 11. Although his quarterback played well in Week 10, Randle El is just too inconsistent to use regularly in Fantasy play.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El has had a relapse of a nagging hamstring injury. He is listed as probable, but the injury likely will have an effect on his speed and agility if he plays. Randle El hurt his hamstring in the Detroit game and has since caught only nine passes for 141 yards. He did not practice on Thursday or Friday of this week.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Randle El's progress, but even if healthy, consider him a No. 3 Fantasy option at best against the Eagles. We'll know his status for sure an hour before kickoff.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (hamstring) did not practice Thursday as the team prepares for Week 10 vs. Philadelphia. Randle El injured his hamstring Week 5, but did not miss a game. He has 27 catches for 479 yards and zero touchdowns in eight games.
Analysis: Randle El has not had more than three catches in over a month and Fantasy owners have to consider him a very unreliable option for Week 10 vs. Philadelphia. He hasn't had a touchdown all season and has only had two 100-yard performances. He is the Redskins' best receiver and that is not saying much. Now his status is in doubt for Week 10.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught one pass for 14 yards in Week 9 at the N.Y. Jets.
Analysis: Randle El has not had more than three catches in over a month and Fantasy owners have to consider him a very unreliable option for Week 10 vs. Philadelphia. He hasn't had a touchdown all season and has only had two 100-yard performances.
News: In Week 5 against the Lions, Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught seven passes for 100 yards. In three games since then, Randle El has only caught eight passes for 127 yards. He will try for his second big game of the year in Week 9 against the Jets, who rank 26th in passing yards allowed this season.
Analysis: Randle El is a part of a pretty anemic offense in Washington, and his Fantasy stats have suffered as a result. He is capable of a big week now and then and the Jets are definitely a team he could thrive against. Consider him a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR in Week 9.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught three passes for 43 yards at New England in Week 8 and also attempted a pass.
Analysis: Randle El has entered that 'boom or bust' territory for wide receivers (teammate Santana Moss practically invented that platform). Either he will post a big game, or he'll deliver slow games like this one. Expect a better game from him in Week 9 at the Jets and think of him as a No. 3 Fantasy WR.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught three passes for 54 yards during a Week 7 win over the Cardinals. He now has 23 catches for 422 yards and zero touchdowns in six games.
Analysis: Randle El has been the Redskins' best wide receiver this season, but that's not saying much. He still doesn't have any touchdowns and that kills his Fantasy value somewhat. Treat Randle El as nothing more than a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy WR for Week 8 against the Patriots.
News: With Santana Moss dinged up, Antwaan Randle El could be in position to post another big day yardagewise in Week 7 vs. Arizona. Both of Randle El's 100-yard games have come at home, both against suspect pass defenses (Miami and Detroit). The Cardinals may rank 13th against the pass but have allowed six passing TDs and 712 passing yards in their last three games.
Analysis: Randle El has a nagging hamstring injury of his own he's dealing with, but the matchup looks good this week, and QB Jason Campbell has done a nice job getting the ball to him in those games against lesser pass defenses. Treat Randle El like a No. 3 Fantasy WR in Week 7.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El had two catches for 30 yards Sunday against Green Bay.
Analysis: Randle El came back to normal after a big game in Week 5 against Detroit. He played through a hamstring injury against the Packers but struggled. Consider Randle El a No. 3 Fantasy WR in Week 7 against Arizona.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El is active for the Redskins in Week 6 against Green Bay. Randle El has been dealing with a hamstring injury all week.
Analysis: Consider Randle El a low-end No. 2 option against the Packers now that he's expected to play.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 6 at Green Bay. Randle El missed his third consecutive practice on Friday, opting to work with trainers to test his injured hamstring. He will likely be a game-time decision. "I think Antwaan is still holding out hope," Joe Gibbs told NFL.com. "He's a great competitor, so the closer it gets to game time the more he wants to go. He'll probably be one that we warm up on Sunday and make a decision based off of what he does."
Analysis: Randle El mentioned after Friday's workout that his hamstring felt "pretty good." "If I have any pain, then I'm not going to push it," he told NFL.com. "But I expect to come out Sunday morning, test it and see what it feels like." Randle El was having a great game against the Lions in Week 5 before getting injured. He caught seven passes for 100 yards as Santana Moss (groin) watched the game from the sidelines. Moss is expected back for Week 6, so it was highly unlikely that Randle El would have another 100-yard game. Fantasy owners will need to follow the situation up to inactives. If Randle El plays, he is nothing more than a No. 3 Fantasy WR or 'flex' option.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday or Thursday as the team prepares for Week 6 at Green Bay and head coach Joe Gibbs did not sound optimistic about Randle El being available. "Hopefully there's a miracle there," Gibbs said of Randle El's chances of playing Sunday.
Analysis: Randle El was having a great game against the Lions in Week 5 before getting injured. He caught seven passes for 100 yards as Santana Moss (groin) watched the game from the sidelines. Moss is expected back for Week 6, so it was highly unlikely that Randle El would have another 100-yard game. It appears doubtful that Randle El will suit up and Fantasy owners need to start making plans to be without him for Week 6.
News: According to the Washington Times, Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El is day-to-day with a strained hamstring. Randle El had a good day against Detroit with seven catches for 100 yards -- all in the first half -- before leaving with the injury.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Randle El's status prior to setting your lineup for Week 6. The Redskins play at Green Bay, and Randle El would be considered a good start if healthy. But Randle El's Fantasy status also depends on if Santana Moss (groin), who missed the game against Detroit), is able to return as well.
News: Washington Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El left Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions with a hamstring injury, and the team said at the start of the second half that he wouldn't return. Randle El, elevated to No. 1 receiver because Santana Moss missed the game with a groin injury, had seven catches for 100 yards in the first half. He appeared to get hurt on a 37-yard catch-and-run right before the 2-minute warning that set up a touchdown to give Washington a 14-0 halftime lead.
Analysis: Randle El played like a No. 1 option against the Lions. Consider him a good start in Week 6 at Green Bay if he's healthy and monitor his status during the week.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El, as expected, hasn't done anything since catching five passes for 162 yards against Miami in Week 1. But with Santana Moss (groin) possibly out this week, Randle El could find success against Detroit's No. 30 pass defense.
Analysis: Expect Jason Campbell to look in Randle El's direction, and he could be poised for another breakout performance in Week 5. Still, Randle El is nothing better than a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR or a bye-week replacement option.
News: With Santana Moss nursing a groin injury, Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El might be the team's best receiving threat in Week 5 vs. Detroit. Randle El has 238 yards on the season, but 162 of them came in a Week 1 outburst vs. Miami. Since that big game, he has six catches for 76 yards.
Analysis: Even with the appealing matchup against the 30th ranked pass defense at home coming off a bye without Santana Moss, Randle El is nothing better than a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR or a bye-week replacement option. Do not expect a monster game from him in Week 5.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El caught two passes for 32 yards during a Week 3 loss to the Giants. His longest reception went for 20 yards. He also had one rush for minus-1 yard.
Analysis: Randle El had a pretty favorable matchup Week 3 against a poor Giants secondary. The Redskins offense could not find consistency in the second half and that cost Randle El. He is clearly the No. 2 WR in Washington, but has failed miserably in the last two weeks after a big opening week (162 yards) against the Dolphins. The Redskins are on a bye in Week 4, but return to action in Week 5. They play the Lions, another favorable matchup, so Randle El might be worth a look as a No. 4 Fantasy receiver or 'flex' player.
News: Antwaan Randle El finished Monday's Week 2 game at Philadelphia with four receptions for 44 yards, but he left late in the second half due to cramping. The Redskins took him to the locker room for intravenous fluids, but he was never able to return to the field.
Analysis: Randle El is considered day to day. He had just one reception for eight yards in the second half and was unable to carry over his momentum from Week 1 when he posted a career-high 162 yards. Despite his huge Week 1 performance, he is only worth a look as a No. 4 Fantasy receiver or 'flex' player heading into Week 3 against the Giants.
News: Coming off the best game of his career yardage-wise, Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El faces the team he last scored a touchdown against, the Eagles. Late last season, Randle El caught six passes for 85 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles; he did not catch a pass in the NFC East rivals' earlier meeting last year, his first with the Redskins. Randle El knows that he's a versatile weapon who needs to be used the right way. "When I was at Pittsburgh, I felt like I wasn't used the way I should have been until I started starting," Randle El said. "If you just come in the game and do a nuisance play, it's like 'Here he comes, watch him.' But if you're in the game all the time, they have to be aware of you all the time. It puts a little bit more pressure on the defense."
Analysis: Randle El's big Week 1 was a bit of a scam as 54 yards of his total came on a hail mary pass from Jason Campbell that was batted into his arms by Jason Taylor. He is nothing more than a No. 4 Fantasy WR in our rankings and shouldn't move up much this season.
News: Washington WR Antwaan Randle El had a monster day Sunday in the Redskins' Week 1 OT victory over Miami. The former Indiana star QB had five grabs for 162 yards.
Analysis: Randle El was QB Jason Campbell's favorite target on Sunday, although his biggest catch of the day was a bit of a sham. His 54-yard grab on the last play of regulation came when Campbell heaved one to the end zone and Miami's Jason Taylor batted the ball down straight into Randle El's arms. Still, the few people who started Randle El were rewarded handsomely. Despite his big day, Randle El is only a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR and shouldn't be paid any attention to heading into Washington's Week 2 matchup at Philadelphia.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El played just one series during Thursday's preseason game against the Jaguars, but hooked up with starting QB Jason Campbell for a 23-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
Analysis: Randle El has fallen out of favor with Fantasy owners, and for good reason. He should be considered a low-end WR at this point and should not be drafted in any league. He might be a good waiver wire addition during the season, but for now you're going to have to wait and see what develops.
News: Washington gave versatile WR Antwaan Randle El a six-year, $30 million contract in March 2006 to make the big plays that had helped Pittsburgh to the NFL's best record in 2004 and to the Super Bowl title in 2005. However, Randle El fell almost as flat as the 5-11 Redskins. His 32 catches and 351 yards were career and his 93 touches were the second-fewest of his five seasons. His 8.8-yard punt return average was also below his standards. "Last year wasn't what I expected," Randle El said in The Sports Xchange. "You didn't get the full gist of what I can do and what we can be as a wide receiving corps overall."
Analysis: Randle El has fallen out of favor with Fantasy owners, and for good reason. He should be considered a low-end WR at this point and should not be drafted in any league. He might be a good waiver wire addition during the season, but for now you're going to have to wait and see what develops.
News: Antwaan Randle El opened Redskins' camp as the starting receiver opposite Santana Moss. Brandon Lloyd, who started 12 games last year but caught only 23 passes, is the No. 3 receiver.
Analysis: For a guy who catches, runs with and throws the ball, Randle El sure doesn't put up a lot of stats for Fantasy owners. Perhaps that would change if he continues to take more reps as the No. 2 guy. Treat him like a reserve Fantasy WR with plenty of upside if given the chance (and if he takes advantage of said chance).
News: With Redskins coach Joe Gibbs feeling the pressure to win this season, expect him to step up the competition at the WR spot opposite Santana Moss. There won't be much patience with Brandon Lloyd this year, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Antwaan Randle El move ahead of him on the depth chart. The club is also reportedly in talks with veteran Keenan McCardell and could use him in that role as well.
Analysis: For a guy who catches, runs with and throws the ball, Randle El sure doesn't put up a lot of stats for Fantasy owners. Perhaps that would change if he found his way into the starting lineups and took more reps as the No. 2 guy. Treat him like a reserve Fantasy WR with plenty of upside if given the chance (and if he takes advantage of said chance).
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El didn't have as big of a season Fantasy owners anticipated, catching 32 passes for 351 yards and three TDs. The versatile receiver also threw three passes, completing two for 88 yards and one for a touchdown. He added 118 rush yards and returned every punt for the Redskins this season, getting one special-teams touchdown along the way.
Analysis: Randle El did nothing this season to change the perception that he's a fun player to watch but not a fun player to own in Fantasy leagues. He's just not cut out to be anything more than a No. 3 or 4 receiver for an NFL club with the occasional gadget play assignment. He is at best a final-round flier in Fantasy play in 2007.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El completed a 48-yard touchdown pass to Santana Moss in a Week 17 loss to the Giants. He also had three receptions for 53 yards.

News: Redskins receiver Santana Moss missed his sixth consecutive practice Friday with an injured left hamstring and isn't expected to play against the Dallas Cowboys. Antwaan Randle El and Brandon Lloyd would become the top two wideouts; another receiver, David Patten (left hamstring), sat out Friday's practice and will be a gametime decision. Lloyd, who missed time with thigh and shoulder injuries, practiced Friday.
Analysis: Look for Lloyd and Randle El to be decent bye-week desperation replacements in Moss' place. Lloyd has good hands and could put up a nice effort in leagues that reward receptions. Patten should not be considered for Fantasy use.
News: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El (heel) is listed as probable for Week 9 vs. Dallas. He did practice with the team on Wednesday.
Analysis: Randle El is only worth using in leagues that reward special teams yardage. He has very little value in leagues that reward offensive production.

News: What team wouldn't want its own Randle El? The moves of a running back. The hands of a receiver. The arm of a quarterback. The versatility to change the course of a Super Bowl. His 43-yard touchdown pass to Hines Ward sealed the Steelers' 21-10 victory over Seattle in Detroit and got the rest of the league thinking. On draft weekend, several teams chose quarterbacks with the intention of turning them into multi-threat receivers. Just like Randle El. "It was a trend that was bound to happen," said Randle El, the former Indiana University quarterback who now is with Washington. "But I'll tell you what: They'd better be careful doing it, because everybody don't have that capability."
Analysis: Randle El is expected to be a special teams ace for the Redskins as well as a slot receiver and trick-play master. Consider him a No. 4 Fantasy WR worth using in bye weeks as a No. 3; he doesn't get the stats to warrant using him any more than that in leagues.
News: The Washington Redskins snagged their second receiver in two days of free agency Sunday, agreeing to terms with Antwaan Randle El for a seven-year contract that could be worth up to $31 million. News: Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El, who is a free agent this offseason, has shown an interest in staying in Pittsburgh and is willing to stay there for less money, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "If [the Steelers] are a million dollars off, that's not enough to make me leave," Randle El said. "If I'm the No. 2 receiver and the punt returner, and, certainly, I have the opportunity to play, then a million-dollar difference won't make me leave here. Why would I want to move my family if I didn't have to?"
Analysis: Randle El's name has been connected with the Bears, Patriots and Eagles, but he might be best served staying in Pittsburgh since he knows their system and plays as their No. 2 receiver. However, his production in terms of Fantasy will probably be limited if he stays in Pittsburgh, so don't consider him anything more than a middle-of-the-road No. 3 WR if he sticks around the Steel City.
News: The Philadelphia Enquirer reports the Eagles are interested in Antwaan Randle El.Reports indicate the Bears, Redskins, and even the Patriots are also interested.

Don't forget that he also rushed for 73 yards and also returned a pair of punts for touchdowns. He will be a free agent this offseason.

It's just a matter of knowing it from a different perspective."
