(9/30/2013) With Titans starting quarterback Jake Locker sidelined by hip and knee injuries, the team is expected to work out free agent quarterback David Carr Tuesday, a source told FOX Sports. The former No. 1 overall pick spent the last two seasons as the backup to Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

David Carr driven out of New York by Giants

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(6:36 pm ET) The Giants have announced that they have waived quarterback David Carr, once a stalwart starter in Houston. Carr started for the Texans every year from 2002 to 2006 and led the league in completion percentage in the last of those seasons. But his record with the team was a meager 23-56. He played in 18 games with the Giants, but none as a starter.

The following players have also been cut by the Giants: defensive ends Adrian Tracy, Adewale Ojomo and Matt Broha, defensive tackle Marvin Austin, linebacker Kyle Bosworth, offensive linemen Eric Herman, Matt McCants, Stephen Goodin and Bryant Browning, safety David Caldwell, cornerbacks Terrence Frederick and Charles James, and wide receivers Kevin Hardy, Marcus Harris and Julian Talley.

The Giants also terminated the contract of running back Ryan Torain and waived safety Tyler Sash with an injury settlement.
