Mikell was injured just before halftime, and was initially ruled questionable to return. He was re-evaluated during halftime, and it was determined he would not return.

Mikell was injured near the end of the first half. He's dealing with a foot injury, and it's unclear if he'll be able to return.

Cole was questionable due to a calf injury. He was limited in practice throughout the week. Both Hartsock and Mikell were listed as probable heading into the game.

(1/10/2014) Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart and wide receiver Steve Smith have been deemed questionable for the playoff game Sunday against San Francisco with knee issues. Defensive tackle Colin Cole has received the same designation with a calf injury.

Listed as probable are tight end Ben Hartsock (knee) and safety Quintin Mikell (thumb).

(12/16/2013) Panthers safety Quintin Mikell didn't have a huge impact in the Week 15 win over the Jets. He made five tackles, two solo, and is up to 47 stops this season. Mikell plays the Saints in Week 16.

Panthers DST hits major speed bump in New Orleans

(12/9/2013) The Panthers DST entered Week 14 red hot and left the Superdome humiliated. The unit got picked apart by Drew Brees and the Saints, allowing a season-high 31 points.

The Panthers sacked Brees twice but otherwise rarely pressured him. They did not force a turnover. New Orleans converted 7 of 12 third downs and rolled up 373 yards.

Among the few highlights, defensive end Mario Addison and safety Quintin Mikell registered sacks, and Ted Ginn had a 32-yard punt return.

Carolina, which came in allowing a league-low 13.1 points, should have a lot more success Week 15 when the Jets visit.

Moore has been out with a knee injury and hasn't practiced. Mikell has been out with an ankle issue. Edwards has been dealing with a hamstring injury, and was not expected back.

Mikell finished the game with seven tackles -- five solo -- and a sack for the Panthers. The sack was his first of the year and ninth of his career.

(7/14/2013) Panthers coach Ron Rivera hinted Thursday the team has interest in signing free agent safety Quintin Mikell, according to the Charlotte Observer. Mikell played in Philadelphia when Rivera was an assistant coach.

"Without getting into details, I think there's a little curiosity and that's about as much as I can say about that," Rivera said. "He can play. He's a good football player. We'll see how things go. It's still early. We've got a couple weeks left to go (until training camp)."
