News: Vikings wide receiver Devin Aromashodu hauled in three receptions for 34 yards in Week 5 against the Titans. Aromashodu's l;longest reception went for 19 yards and his four targets ranked third behind only Percy Harvin (10) and Kyle Rudolph (7).
Analysis: Aromashodu is merely a reserve WR for the Vikings, who usually doesn't see much of the field. However, that could change moving forward as Jerome Simpson may have suffered some sort of leg injury. If Simpson ends up missing more time, Aromashodu could find himself targeted a few more times each week. However, that way things stand right now, Fantasy owners should continue to ignore him in the majority of formats heading into Week 6.
News: Vikings receiver Devin Aromashodu had two catches for 24 yards Sunday against the 49ers in Week 3. He had two targets in the game.
Analysis: Aromashodu has minimal Fantasy value heading into Week 4 at Detroit. The Vikings will get Jerome Simpson back from his suspension, and Aromashodu will lose more value. He should not be used in Week 4 in the majority of leagues.
News: Vikings wide receiver Devin Aromashodu totaled three catches for 61 yards Week 1 against the Jaguars. He was targeted three times in the game.
Analysis: Aromashodu's performance Sunday wasn't anything out of the norm. He had a few outings like Sunday last season, but he isn't expected to be a big-time player in the Vikings offense heading into Week 2 against the Colts, so continue to leave him out of active lineups.
News: According to 1500ESPN.com, the Vikings agreed to a one-year deal with wide receiver Devin Aromashodu on Friday.
Analysis: Aromashodu caught 26 passes for 468 yards and one score in 16 games last year for Minnesota. He stepped up to the plate for the Vikings once Michael Jenkins was placed on the injured reserve. With the quarterback situation in Minnesota -- let's just say not great -- Aromashodu shouldn't be high on anyone's draft board this fall. Monitor Minny this offseason to see if they add any other receivers. For now, Aromashodu has marginal Fantasy value.
News: Vikings WR Devin Aromashodu was limited in the Week 16 win at Washington on Saturday. Aromashodu caught just two passes in the game for 36 yards. The Vikings saw QB Christian Ponder get injured, but Joe Webb entered and led the team to victory.
Analysis: Aromashodu has stepped up as the Vikings No. 2 receiver behind Percy Harvin with Michael Jenkins being placed on injured reserve. That said, Aromashodu has really done little that would make him valuable to Fantasy owners since Jenkins went down. Neither Ponder nor Webb is a prolific enough quarterback to spread the ball around too much at this point and Aromashodu is not really a recommended Fantasy option heading into Week 17 against the Bears. Aromashodu did not make a catch in Chicago Week 6.
News: For the second straight week, WR Devin Aromashodu was a major target for the Vikings, but a bevy of passes his way did not translate into a big game. Aromashodu has been playing a bigger role in the passing game with WR Michael Jenkins out for the year with a knee injury, as he has been targeted 25 times over the last two games. However, QBs Christian Ponder and Joe Webb were inaccurate in many of their 10 combined throws to Aromashodu, and he finished with just four catches for 47 yards.
Analysis: Had Ponder and Webb been more on target, Aromashodu could have racked up a lot more yardage, but instead he made a modest impact in Fantasy for Week 14. He should continue to be targeted going forward, but with Webb or Ponder under center, Aromashodu is simply not a reliable option in most leagues. He can be used as a No. 4 Fantasy WR going into Week 15.
News: With WR Michael Jenkins out against the Broncos, WR Devin Aromashodus role increased, making six catches for 90 yards in Week 13. He is hoping for more opportunities against the Lions in Week 14. They play a lot of man like Denver did, so hopefully we can take advantage of that, Aromashodu said.
Analysis: Despite a strong outing Week 13, Fantasy owners have proven hesitant to add Aromashodu, as his ownership hasn't gone up much from last week. However, the opportunity for him to be a prominent player on offense down the stretch is there. He was targeted 15 times against the Broncos. Although, we understand Fantasy owners hesitation heading into Week 14. The Lions are yielding just 19.8 Fantasy points per week to WRs and Vikings QB Christian Ponder (hip) might not start Sunday. However, it is also worth noting that the Lions secondary is banged up, which works in Aromashodu's favor. Look to him as a No. 4 Fantasy WR for Week 14, but he is certainly now an intriguing option to monitor.
News: Minnesota WR Devin Aromashodu had six receptions for 90 yards during the Vikings' 35-32 loss to Denver in Week 13. Aromashodu, who was inserted into the starting lineup after Michael Jenkins was placed on injured reserve last week, collected a game-high 15 targets from QB Christian Ponder. He was targeted 10 times in the first half alone and had five catches for 74 yards -- more than his output from his previous six games.
Analysis: With Jenkins out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, Aromashodu has had to step up. He did a good job on Sunday. The 27-year-old was a backup who had nine catches for 213 yards in 11 games entering Week 13, but posted his highest receiving total against the Broncos. It's unlikely he'll finish with double-digits in targets every week, but he could have value in deeper Fantasy formats for Week 14 against Chicago.
News: One week after leading his team with six targets, Vikings WR Devin Aromashodu still had a respectable six Week 11 against the Raiders. He caught only one, but it was an impressive catch-and-run that resulted in a 42-yard gain, moving the Vikings into Raiders territory for the start of the fourth quarter.
Analysis: Aromashodu may be getting plenty of targets, but he's not catching all that many passes, hauling in no more than two in any game this season. Despite the long gain in Week 11, he belongs on the waiver wire in Fantasy.
News: Vikings WR Devin Aromashodu led his team with six targets in a Week 8 win over the Panthers. However, he only caught two of them for a total of 20 yards. Despite the quiet afternoon, Aromashodu's 15-yard catch in the fourth quarter brought the team just shy of midfield, and the drive ended with Ryan Longwell's game-winning 31-yard field goal.
Analysis: Though Aromashodu made an important contribution to the Vikings' victory, he did little to help Fantasy owners in Week 8. Good things may be in his future if he continues to get targeted frequently, but owners need to see more production before they can trust Aromashodu in just about any format. He should certainly be avoided in Week 9, as the Vikings have a bye.
News: Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said Thursday that he envisions Devin Aromashodu getting more reps at split end now that the team has cut ties with Bernard Berrian. The Vikings travel to Carolina in Week 8.
Analysis: Aromashodu hasn't had more than two catches in a game and has just one touchdown this season, so the extra reps can't hurt. However, if you are looking for a Vikings receiver to add in Fantasy, then consider Michael Jenkins. Aromashodu is averaging 26.6 yards per catch in 2011 and can be a downfield threat, but until that happens on a regular basis, then he is not a recommended Fantasy option.
News: Vikings WR Devin Aromashodu saw some passes thrown his way in Week 7 against the Packers. He was targeted five times by Christian Ponder, making one catch for 13 yards in the 33-27 loss.
Analysis: Ponder awoke the Vikings' passing game on Sunday and looked Aromashodu's way a few times. A trend like that could have a nice affect on his Fantasy value so keep an eye on his progress going forward. But until he proves his worth on the field, continue to ignore Aromashodu in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News: Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave is pleased with the growth he has seen from WR Devin Aromashodu, who had a season-high 81 yards in Week 5. "Hes given us a spark for sure," Musgrave said. "The emergence of Devin has helped us achieve some chunks and were always looking for chunks of yardage. Devins had two the last two games. Wed love to build on that and keep featuring him as long as we can." Although, Musgrave said Aromashodu still has some developing to do. "Itll come with time," Musgrave said. "He had his drop the other day when we were backed up. I think we had a chance to get out from under the shadow of our own goal post and he had a drop and I know hes searching for consistency in that regard but hes done a good job of asserting himself in practice and were happy hes on our team and no longer on the Chicago team."
Analysis: Aromashodu probably can't wait to get onto the field in Week 6 to face his former team -- the Bears. He is having a good October with 115 yards and one touchdown on three catches in two games. The Vikings could use some pass-catching threats and it appears Aromashodu is being developed as one. Still, he remains nothing more than a desperation Fantasy option for Week 6. The Bears are allowing WRs to average 20.6 Fantasy points per week, which is 13th lowest in the NFL.
News: Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said on Monday that he was impressed with how WR Devin Aromashodu performed in Week 5 against the Cardinals with Bernard Berrian out. But he did not hint at how Aromashodu will be used once Berrian returns. Devin did a good job," Frazier said. "We dont want to shortchange Devin. But we are counting on Bernard to step up and play well for us, and we'll see how we develop a rotation for this next game. Aromashodu caught two passes for 81 yards in Sunday's 34-10 win.
Analysis: Aromashodu had his biggest game of the season on Sunday and could earn some more targets going forward. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the situation going forward. Aromashodu showed in his days in Chicago that he has some appeal in Fantasy but until he proves to be more consistent, continue to ignore him in the majority of leagues.
News: Minnesota WR Devin Aromashodu led the Vikings on Sunday of Week 5 as the team finally earned its first win of the season. Aromashodu helped the Vikings beat the Cardinals, though he caught just two passes in the game from QB Donovan McNabb. Aromashodu, who was targeted five times, caught two passes for a team-high 81 yards. He had a long grab of 60 yards and did not score in the game.
Analysis: Aromashodu was leading the Vikings in receiving yards with just one catch halfway through the third quarter of the Week 5 win for Minnesota and finished with the team-lead in yardage. The passing game has really struggled for the Vikings behind McNabb this season. They won on Sunday on the back of Adrian Peterson, but Aromashodu has definitely seen his role in the passing game grow in recent weeks. That said, heading into Week 6 at Chicago, Aromashodu is still not a recommended Fantasy start.
News: WR Devin Aromashodu scored the first touchdown of the Vikings' game in Week 4, but the Chiefs still prevailed, 22-17. Aromashodu's 34-yard score was only the third passing touchdown this season for the Vikings. It was also just the second catch of the season for Aromashodu and his only reception in the game.
Analysis: Aromashodu produced one of the most exciting moments of the game, but that wound up being his only contribution. He is simply not an integral part of the Vikings' offense, and he can't be relied upon as a Fantasy option. Despite his brief moment of production, owners can continue to ignore him in all formats.
News: Several wideouts are battling for roster spots in Minnesota, and offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said that WR Devin Aromashodu keeps showing up on the team's film. "Hes an exciting player," Musgrave said. "Hes definitely in the mix at that deep wide receiver position, and he seems to be making a big play for us every time we turn around."
Analysis: Aromashodu has three catches for 39 yards through two preseason games. It's not big-time numbers, but he is one of the team's leading receivers, which is why the team has taken notice. With the subtraction of Sidney Rice, the Vikings need some playmakers alongside Percy Harvin. Aromashodu is getting a fresh start in a new offense and seems to be making his case for targets. For now, though, leave Aromashodu on waivers and pick him up in-season if he becomes a factor in Minnesota.
News: ESPN reports the Vikings have agreed to a one-year contract with former Bears WR Devin Aromashodu.
Analysis: Aromashodu fell off the map in 2010 after showing some progress in 2009. Clearly, the Vikings aren't making a big investment in Aromashodu, but they would like to see what he can do in training camp. Aromashodu probably shouldn't be in your Draft Day plans.
News: Without a tender offer as a restricted free agent, WR Devin Aromashodu is going to be set free from Chicago. The Bears didn't make him a qualifying offer, more than likely making him a free agent upon the start of a new CBA. Aromashodu proved his worth in the final four games in 2009, totaling 22 receptions for 282 yards and four touchdowns, but had just 10 grabs for 149 yards and no touchdowns throughout all of 2010 as he struggled to learn Mike Martz's offense.
Analysis: Aromashodu has not been a quick learner as he struggled to learn Martz's offense and Ron Turner's offense before Martz came to Chicago. We can't recommend drafting Aromashodu in any leagues at this point.
News: The Chicago Tribune reports that WR Devin Aromashodu likely needs a fresh start with a new team after a disappointing season in 2010 with the Bears. He will be a restricted free agent this offseason, and the report says it would be surprising if the Bears brought him back. Aromashodu emerged as a preferred target for Jay Cutler in the 2009 training camp and when he finally got his chance on the field in Week 14 that season, he produced. He had 22 receptions for 282 yards and four touchdowns in the final four games, and the future was bright. But after five catches for 71 yards in the opener this season against the Lions, he disappeared. He caught just five more passes the rest of the season. "It's been a tough year," Aromashodu said. "I wish it could have been better. I'll discuss things with my agent and see where it goes."
Analysis: We would like to see Aromashodu get a fresh start also because he does have potential to be a quality Fantasy option in the right situation. Keep an eye on what happens this offseason, and if he goes to a new team he could be worth a late-round pick in deeper leagues.
News: Many Fantasy owners drafted Devin Aromashodu with a late-round pick in drafts last summer expecting him to pick up where he left off last season. But with a new playbook in place thanks to a new offensive coordinator, speculation was that Aromashodu didn't learn the in's and out's of the new scheme in time. Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz kind of hinted at that with the media on Wednesday. "Really, its a competitive thing with the other receivers. If hes not playing that means somebody is probably doing a better job, and is probably a little more consistent at that position," Martz said. "That's usually what it comes down to, aside from the special teams aspect. He has not been involved in special teams a great deal. When you get down to that part between the three, four and five receivers, all those guys have to be significant on special teams and from that standpoint that has hurt him."
Analysis: Aromashodu was a big disappointment in 2010 and will be off of Fantasy radars in 2011 unless he winds up in an offense where he gets an opportunity to play. Such an opportunity won't happen until he knows what he's doing and is contributing in every way he can. Look elsewhere for Fantasy help.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu had just one grab in Week 15 against the Vikings but he had another one called back that would have been a huge play. Right before halftime, QB Jay Cutler found the 26-year-old wide open in the end zone for a long touchdown strike but the play was called back on off-setting penalties. Aromashodu finished with one catch for 13 yards in the 40-14 win.
Analysis: Aromashodu has been little-used in the offense this season and has just 10 catches for 149 yards on the year. After catching four touchdown passes down the stretch last season Fantasy owners thought that he would be in line for a huge year in 2010. But he has had trouble grasping offensive coordinator Mike Martz's playbook and sees minimal playing time. Until his role in the passing game improves, continue to ignore the 26-year-old in all formats.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu did something against the Patriots in Week 14 that he hadn't done in four games -- record a catch. He caught a 16-yard pass from QB Jay Cutler in the second half for his only reception of the game.
Analysis: Aromashodu had a breakout second half last season but has not seen much playing time in 2010. His inability to grasp the offense have hindered his Fantasy value as he has just nine catches for 136 yards with no scores on the year. Until his role in the passing game improves, continue to ignore the 26-year-old in all formats.
News: In the Bears' Week 10 win vs. the Vikings, WR Devin Aromashodu caught a 9-yard pass. He was targeted twice in the game. This was a far cry from his monster game in Week 16 last season vs. the Vikings where he caught the game-winning score in OT and had well over 100 yards.
Analysis: He typically doesn't produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep him off rosters when the Bears play at the Dolphins this Thursday as part of Week 11 action.
News: The Bears offense has not been slinging the football around the field and getting all the team's receivers involved. Jay Cutler has struggled and so has the passing game. Chicago WR Devin Aromashodu is no different. He caught two passes for 40 yards last week against Seattle and had gone without a catch since Week 1 prior to that. At least he was back on the stat sheet in Week 6 and, with the Bears playing Washington Week 7, Aromashodu could have an even better game. No team in the NFL is allowing more Fantasy points per game to opposing WRs than are the Redskins.
Analysis: We believe Aromashodu will have a game similar to his Week 1 contest against Detroit. He caught five passes for 71 yards in that one. He is facing a defense that is allowing over 210 receiving yards per game to WRs this season with six touchdowns given up. The Redskins have been the matchup you want your Fantasy WR to have but Aromashodu is not yet ready for Fantasy play. His best week might still not be worth the time in Fantasy.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu caught two passes for 40 yards in a Week 6 loss to Seattle.
Analysis: Until this outing, Aromashodu had done absolutely nothing since his 71-yard game in Week 1, so to see him actually contribute all has to give his few Fantasy owners something to smile about. In Week 7, the Bears host the Redskins, and while Aromashodu certainly isn't worth using in Fantasy play again just yet, people in deeper leagues with WR issue should keep an eye on his targets and catches in that game.
News: The Bears host the Seahawks in Week 6, and Chicago WR Devin Aromashodu will be going against a pass defense that ranks just 31st through four games with an average of 302 yards a game and six total touchdowns allowed through the air.
Analysis: Aromashodu has Aroma-showed Fantasy owners nothing since gaining 71 yards in his opener and is clearly not a big part of Mike Martz's plans at the moment. He saw just one target in Week 5, and while he'll get starting QB Jay Cutler back for this game, Aromashodu is not worth using in any Fantasy formats at this time unless you like getting a zero from your flex spot.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu was targeted once in Week 5 against the Panthers, but did not make the catch. With Todd Collins at the helm, there wasn't a lot of offense through the air. His target on Sunday was his first since Week 1. Aromashodu has five catches for 71 yards this year -- all of it coming in Week 1.
Analysis: Aromashodu hasn't been a big factor in offensive coordinator Mike Martz's system yet. His Fantasy value has plummeted since the beginning of the season and is not a recommended start in any format. Despite Seattle giving up more than 300 yards per game through the air this season and the likelihood of getting Jay Cutler back, Aromashodu should not be in any starting lineup in Week 6.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu hasn't been targeted since Week 1 and is searching for some action heading into Week 5 against the Panthers. Carolina allows 220 yards through the air and has given up seven receiving touchdowns through four weeks. With QB Jay Cutler (concussion) out of action on Sunday and veteran backup Todd Collins taking over, the Bears may lean on the run more against Carolina -- a team that allows 113 yards per game on the ground. In the two games he's played in, Aromashodu has five catches for 71 yards.
Analysis: With Aromashodu not playing in two games this year doesn't give him much Fantasy value. Offensive coordinator Mike Martz hasn't incorporated him into the offensive scheme and hasn't been impressed with the fourth-year receiver out of Auburn. With his status uncertain for Week 5 and the fact Collins is at quarterback, Aromashodu is not a recommended start in any Fantasy league.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu was a healthy scratch for last week's game against the Packers and has yet to receive an answer as to why he was inactive. "We've talked, briefly, but not as far as a reason why I didn't play," he told the Chicago Sun-Times. "But, obviously they saw something that I didn't do that other players brought." Offensive coordinator Mike Martz has been in-impressed with the receiver's ability, or lack there of, to adjust to the slot role this season. Aromashodu has caught just five passes for 71 yards in two games this season. "I just got to keep working," he said. The Bears face off against the Giants and their fourth ranked pass defense in Week 4.
Analysis: Aromashodu collected all of his stats in Week 1 and has been little used since. He and Martz have not been on the same page and it has effected his production. "I mean, I like to play outside receiver, but I was playing the slot, and I kind of got used to playing it. Outside receiver, I like it. But I got used to playing slot receiver," Aromashodu said. His abilities and size make him a perfect target for QB Jay Cutler but it appears that Aromashodu has a long way to go before becoming a serious contributor in most Fantasy formats. His status for Week 4 is not yet known so Fantasy owners should leave Aromashodu on the bench in all formats until this situation become more clear.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu was listed on the inactive list for Week 3 against the Packers. He was not injured leading up to Monday night's game and has caught five passes this season for 71 yards.Aromashodu did not play in Week 2 because he does not know the slot position in the offense, according to offensive coordinator Mike Martz.
Analysis: Aromashodu collected all of his stats in Week 1. He and offensive coordinator Mike Martz have not been on the same page and it has effected his production. His abilities and size make him a perfect target for QB Jay Cutler but it appears that Aromashodu has a long way to go before becoming a serious contributor in most Fantasy formats. Keep him on your bench for Week 3 against the Packers and monitor the situation over the coming weeks.
News: Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz cleared up the Devin Aromashodu mystery. The WR didn't play in Week 2 against the Cowboys because his knowledge of the offense is limited. "Devin is a bit of a specialist in that he does not play the slot, which we asked him to do in the opener," Martz said. "He just plays the outside, so his opportunities to play are reduced dramatically because of his limited knowledge of what we do."
Analysis: A source told CBSSports.com earlier Thursday that Aromashodu was in Martz's doghouse and it seems the veteran coach had no qualms about letting his feelings known on Aromashodu's abilities. Maybe Aromashodu will use this as motivation, but it seems he has quite an uphill battle on his hands. Couple Aromashodu's doghouse status with the fact the Packers have allowed receivers to total just 17 catches for 174 yards and one touchdown in the first two games and Aromashodu is not a good Fantasy start for Week 3.
News: Bears QB Jay Cutler said Thursday that WR Devin Aromashodu was injured last week, explaining why he went from being targeted 10 times in Week 1 against Detroit to not playing on offense at all last week at Dallas. "I'm healthy," Aromashodu said, but added he was a "little banged up." A source told CBSSports.com that Aromashodu might be in Mike Martz's doghouse for not playing a complete game in Week 1 against the Lions.
Analysis: We expect Aromashodu to bounce back and be a factor for the Bears this season, but right now Fantasy owners need to be patient heading into Week 3 against Green Bay. Don't plan on starting Aromashodu in the majority of leagues, but keep an eye on his production against the Packers and see if he remains heavily involved on offense like he did in Week 1.
News: Chicago WR Devin Aromashodu, who was limited in practice with a knee issue in the days leading up to Week 2 in Dallas, did not make a catch against the Cowboys. In fact, Aromashodu was not targeted in the game by quarterback Jay Cutler. He did check into the game, however.
Analysis: Aromashodu managed five catches for 71 yards Week 1 against the Lions. Receiver Earl Bennett, who didn't play Week 1 as a healthy scratch, caught five passes Week 2. Does that mean the Bears wanted to get Bennett into the action at Aromashodu's expense? We're not really sure just yet. The only thing we can be sure of right now is that Aromashodu does not seem like a viable Fantasy play Week 3 against the Packers.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu returned to full practice on Thursday after he was limited Wednesday due to knee soreness. Aromashodu and the Bears are preparing for a Week 2 showdown with the Cowboys. Aromashodu caught five passes for 71 yards Week 1 against the Lions and did not get into the end zone. The Cowboys only afforded the Redskins a total of 88 passing yards to wide receivers Week 1.
Analysis: The knee injury is not considered serious, so it is not one of our major concerns heading into Week 2. Aromashodu is second on the depth chart in Chicago behind Johnny Knox. Knox got most of the targets Week 1 but Aromashodu got the most receptions. We are sure that Aromashodu is going to be a quality start at times this season but it doesn't seem like Week 2 at Dallas is going to be one of them. The Cowboys did not give up an offensive touchdown to the Redskins Week 1 and still lost the game on the road. Coming home, Dallas is going to pull out all the stops to attempt to dominate the Bears. Aromashodu should be considered no better than a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR for the game against the Cowboys.
News: The Dallas Cowboys are going to pose a much tougher test Week 2 than did the Lions Week 1 for the Chicago Bears. The Cowboys are coming off a road loss against the Redskins in which they did not give up an offensive touchdown. They are going to be at home and out for blood against the Bears. That is why wide receiver Devin Aromashodu could struggle. Aromashodu, who was limited in practice Wednesday with knee soreness, caught five passes for 71 yards Week 1 against the Lions and did not get into the end zone. The Cowboys only afforded the Redskins a total of 88 yards passing to wide receivers Week 1.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu was limited in practice Wednesday with a knee issue. Chicago visits Dallas in Week 2.
Analysis: Aromashodu had five catches for 71 yards in Week 1 against the Lions. Those were encouraging numbers for his Fantasy owners who have to be hoping he becomes Jay Cutler's favorite target this season. If Aromashodu is ready to go in Week 2, he should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy WR option.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu had five catches for 71 yards on Sunday against the Lions. Aromashodu had the most targets for the Bears with 10, and he played better than Johnny Knox (three catches for 52 yards) and Devin Hester (one catch for 17 yards).
Analysis: Aromashodu has the chance to be the No. 1 WR for the Bears this year. QB Jay Cutler will likely spread the ball around a lot -- he had six different receivers catch passes -- so Aromashodu will likely never be considered a starting Fantasy option in the majority of leagues. But the potential is there for him to have a big season. Consider Aromashodu a No. 3 Fantasy WR in Week 2 at Dallas.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu's last game in 2009 was against the Lions, and he dominated the matchup with five catches for 46 yards and two touchdowns. He will look to do the same in Week 1 against Detroit again. Aromashodu enters this game as the No. 3 WR for Chicago behind Johnny Knox and Devin Hester, but he will see the field plenty in this game. And it's a good matchup for him based on what happened last year and the Lions still weak secondary. Last season the Lions allowed seven 100-yard games to opposing wide receivers and 20 touchdowns.
Analysis: Aromashodu won't see as much playing time as he did in that game against Detroit last year since Knox didn't play, but Aromashodu is still capable of making plays in this game. Consider him a No. 4 Fantasy WR in this matchup, and he's worth starting in some deeper formats.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu caught two passes for 16 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to Arizona.
Analysis: After coming out of the gate fast in his first exhibition game, Aromashodu has pretty much vanished in the last two contests as he continues to look like the third receiving option in Chicago behind Johnny Knox and Devin Hester. Aromashodu could rise back up the depth chart at some point in 2010, but for now should only be drafted in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu sure looks the part of the team's No. 3 receiver following two preseason games. He hasn't been starting but has seen work with the first-team offense, though in their preseason game vs. the Raiders Saturday he was targeted deep once and had the pass knocked away. He didn't see another ball come his way after that while teammates Devin Hester, Johnny Knox and Greg Olsen did get multiple targets
Analysis: Aromashodu was who Cutler gushed over last summer, and he finished the 2009 season very strong. But all signs point to him having limited reps compared to Knox and Hester. The good news is that the Bears' offense is being run by Mike Martz, who likes to put the ball in the air a lot and won't hesitate to let Cutler air it out. Aromashodu should be considered a sleeper worth a late-round pick in drafts.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu has been given three positions to learn in training camp: the X, the F and the Z receiver spots. "We put him at all three positions, made it very difficult for him and he's done a good job of learning that," offensive coordinator Mike Martz said. Aromashodu is behind Devin Hester and Johnny Knox on the depth chart coming into the season, but he continues to play well. He caught four passes for a team-leading 78 yards including a 47-yard completion and a 7-yard touchdown in the preseason opener against San Diego on Saturday.
Analysis: Aromashodu has lost some steam as one of our favorite sleepers this year, but he still has potential to play well. QB Jay Cutler is fond of Aromashodu's game, and he played well toward the end of last season. We view Aromashodu as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy option, and hopefully even though he's the No. 3 WR in Chicago's offense, playing for Martz should hopefully help his game. Plan on drafting Aromashodu with a late-round pick.
News: In the Bears' preseason loss at San Diego Saturday, WR Devin Aromashodu caught four passes for a team-leading 78 yards including a 47-yard completion and a 7-yard touchdown haul from QB Caleb Hanie.
Analysis: Aromashodu played as a third receiver with the starting unit and as a regular with the second-team offense, but that might change following this performance. Don't forget that he scored four touchdowns over his last four games last season and has been just as impressive in training camp as the other Bears' receivers. We think he's worth a look late in deeper drafts this summer.
News: The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Bears WR Devin Aromashodu is working on learning all three wide receiver positions as he tries to earn playing time behind starters Devin Hester and Johnny Knox. The biggest adjustment for Aromashodu is learning how to play in the slot. "I haven't really done it," Aromashodu said. "But I feel, as a receiver, you got to be able to do anything. So it's something I can get used to." Aromashodu said he likes that slot receivers work in space. "There are more ways you can go," he said.
3 WR in Chicago's offense, playing for offensive coordinator Mike Martz should hopefully help his game. Plan on drafting Aromashodu with a late-round pick.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu noted that QB Jay Cutler seems to be finding him on deep routes like he did in last year's training camp. "That's what we're trying to do, just pick up where we left off last year and in OTAs," Aromashodu said.
Analysis: Aromashodu didn't make an impact for the Bears until late last season. Over the final five games, he totaled 22 catches for 282 yards and four touchdowns. The fact he had a strong offseason and is looking good in training camp could mean great things for Aromashodu and Fantasy owners in 2010. The addition of offensive coordinator Mike Martz also means the Bears' passing game be greatly improved this season. We like Aromashodu a lot heading into 2010, and he should be considered a low-end No. 3/high-end No. 4 Fantasy WR with upside.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu said the biggest reason he excelled late last season after years on the edge of NFL rosters is simply improved confidence. "In the beginning, I was kind of scared to make a mistake and drop a ball or whatever," Aromashodu said Thursday. Aromashodu proved his worth in the final four games in 2009. Aromashodu was the favorite target of QB Jay Cutler in those games against the Packers, Ravens, Vikings and Lions and had 22 receptions for 282 yards and four touchdowns. Over a 16-game season, that would be 88 receptions for 1,128 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Analysis: We like Aromashodu a lot heading into 2010, and he should be considered a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR with upside. The addition of offensive coordinator Mike Martz should help Aromashodu, and he's worth a late-round pick in all formats.
News: Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz pointed to WR Devin Aromashodu as the player who's showing the best early grasp of his offense. Aromashodu didn't line up as a starter with the first-team offense during their May minicamp, but that doesn't mean anything at this point. "Aromashodu has stepped up quite a bit, significantly, and we've moved him into a role now where we're trying to see what he can do getting him the ball a little bit more."
Analysis: The way Aromashodu finished last season combined with how receivers typically have done in Mike Martz's pass-heavy offense has us convinced that he'll be a breakout receiver this season. In games against the Packers, Ravens, Vikings and Lions, Aromashodu had 22 receptions for 282 yards and four touchdowns. Over a 16-game season, that would be 88 receptions for 1,128 yards and 16 touchdowns. You can pick up your jaw from the floor now. Consider Aromashodu not quite a No. 3 Fantasy WR to start the season, but one you can swipe with a middle- to late-round pick and hope to see flourish in 2010.
News: The Chicago Tribune anticipates Bears WR Devin Aromashodu will play an important role in 2010. In a Q&A session with readers, Bears beat writer Dan Pompei was asked how new offensive coordinator Mike Martz will use Aromashodu this season. "I really think the wide receiver competition is pretty open," Pompei wrote. "(Coach) Lovie Smith and wide receivers coach Darryl Drake may have their favorites, but I think Martz will come into the minicamp next week with no biases. He never has worked with any of these players before. As for Aromashodu, I'm really high on him. I like everything about him, including his refreshing attitude. But we need to keep this in perspective. He has not earned the right to be considered the team's No. 1 receiver yet. We're talking about a player who has been in the league for four years and has had two really good games. Aromashodu has to prove himself in camp to Martz, Smith, me and you."
Analysis: Aromashodu proved his worth in the final four games in 2009. He has the potential to build of that and become a go-to target for Cutler. With the addition of Martz, the Bears passing game should shine, and Aromashodu should post quality stats. Consider him a sleeper on Draft Day, and he's worth drafting with a late-round pick in all leagues.
News: The Chicago Tribune reports Bears WR coach Darryl Drake is fond of WR Devin Aromashodu, who stepped up as a star in the final four games in 2009. Drake thinks Aromashodu is capable of big things this year. "I don't know if he has a ceiling," Drake said. "He's got an awful lot of ability, and he and I have talked about it. What he's got to do is be consistent. I have talked to him and I am not afraid to say it, D.A. has been in the league almost five years. It's time."
Analysis: We like Aromashodu heading into this season based on the way he played in the final four games of the year. He has the potential to build of that and become a go-to target for Cutler. With the addition of Mike Martz as offensive coordinator, the Bears passing game should shine, and Aromashodu should post quality stats. Consider him a sleeper on Draft Day, and he's worth drafting with a late-round pick in all leagues.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu completed his fine finish to the season when he caught five passes for 46 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a Week 17 win over the Lions.
Analysis: Aromashodu emerged from nowhere to become a favorite target of Jay Cutler in these last few weeks of the season, and will head into 2010 as a great sleeper pick in the middle-to-late rounds of all drafts.
News: Chicago WR Devin Aromashodu erupted onto the Fantasy scene on Monday night of Week 16 against the Vikings. Too bad there is only one week left in the regular season because Aromashodu is ready to break out. He caught seven passes from Jay Cutler in the Monday night overtime victory, including the game-winning touchdown pass from 39 yards out. He finished with a career-high 150 receiving yards and the score.
Analysis: Aromashodu had a big game back from injury Week 14 against Green Bay with eight catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. He struggled last week against Baltimore as Jay Cutler could do nothing against the Ravens defense. Cutler was much better Week 16 against the Vikings and it was Aromashodu who get the bulk of the looks and had a monster performance including the game-winning touchdown catch in overtime. That is good news for the season finale at Detroit. The Lions are terrible and Aromashodu is a solid Fantasy sleeper for use in most formats after this performance.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu started Sunday at Baltimore in place of the injured Devin Hester (calf) but struggled against the Ravens. Aromashodu had only two catches for 10 yards.
Analysis: Aromashodu had a big game in Week 14 against Green Bay with eight catches for 76 yards and a touchdown, but he had done nothing in his career prior to that game. He has minimal Fantasy value and should not be used in any leagues in Week 16 against Minnesota.
News: In the Bears' Week 14 loss vs. the Packers, a silver lining emerged. WR Devin Aromashodu saw a lot of playing time and caught eight passes for 76 yards with a touchdown, the first of his career. None of Aromashodu's catches went for more than 19 yards, but his eight grabs and 12 targets (both a team-high) are proof enough that QB Jay Cutler likes throwing to him. Moreover, Aromashodu's touchdown came when he ran a short corner route and snared the ball behind an out-of-position Charles Woodson.
Analysis: Aromashodu is worth adding off waivers on the hunch that he'll have another impact outing before the end of the season. We think he might get it in Week 17 when the Bears play the Lions and not in Week 15 at Baltimore. If you opt to pick him up off waivers, don't expect him to be anything more than depth for your roster.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu had only his second reception of the season Week 12 at Minnesota. It went for 6 yards.
Analysis: Aromashodu is too low on the depth chart to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers for Week 13 against the Rams.
News: The Bears had four players dress that did not record an offensive stat Sunday against the Eagles with WR Devin Aromashodu, WR Rashied Davis, RB Adrian Peterson and QB Caleb Hanie.
Analysis: None of these players are worth using in any formats. Ignore them in Week 12 at Minnesota.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu had a 10-yard catch at San Francisco in Week 10.
Analysis: Aromashodu doesn't put up enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep him off of rosters at this point.
News: The Bears listed the following players as inactive for Week 9 against Arizona: WR Juaquin Iglesias, WR Devin Aromashodu, DB D.J. Moore, LB Pisa Tinoisamoa, TE Lance Louis, DL Matt Toeina, DB Josh Bullocks.
Analysis: None of the players listed carry much Fantasy appeal or potential. Leave them on the waiver wire in all leagues until further notice.
News:Rashied Davis, Jason Mckie, Devin Aromashodu and Kellen Davis all failed to record a stat in Chicago's Week 7 loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy relevance and can continue to be ignored in all formats.
News: Bears WR Devin Aromashodu, TE Kellen Davis, WR Rashied Davis and backup QB Caleb Hanie all dressed but failed to record an offensive stat in Week 6 at Atlanta.
Analysis: These players have minimal Fantasy value in all leagues. The Bears will play at the Bengals in Week 7, but ignore these players in all formats even when active.
News: Bears WR Juaquin Iglesias, WR Devin Aromashodu, DB DeAngelo Smith, DB D.J. Moore, LB Pisa Tinoisamoa, TE Lance Louis, DL Matt Toeaina and TE Desmond Clark have all been ruled inactive for Week 3 at Seattle.
Analysis: Clark sees a fair amount of snaps at tight end for the Bears when active, but he doesn't have great numbers playing next to Greg Olsen and has minimal Fantasy appeal. Most of these players have little to no Fantasy appeal when active since they are primarily backups. Keep them reserved Week 3.
News: Chicago lists the following players as inactive for Week 1's Sunday night game against the Green Bay Packers: WR Juaquin Iglesias, WR Devin Aromashodu, CB D.J. Moore, S Josh Bullocks, DT Matt Toeaina, TE Michael Gaines and DT Jarron Gilbert.
Analysis: Iglesias and Aromashodu could become Fantasy options in the deepest of leagues later in the year but for now can be avoided in all leagues. The same goes for the rest of the players listed above.
News: The Chicago Bears have announced the Week 15 inactives for their game against New Orleans. Not in uniform will be: QB Caleb Hanie (third QB), WR Devin Aromashodu, RB Garrett Wolfe, FB Jason McKie, G Terrence Metcalf, WR Brandon Rideau, WR Marty Booker and De Ervin Baldwin.
Analysis: Booker is the only player in this list with any Fantasy value, but his is minimal at best. Ignore all of these guys for the foreseeable future.
News: The Bears placed DT Dusty Dvoracek on Injured Reserve following Week 14 after hurting his arm in Week 13. The team signed WR Devin Aromashodu off the Redskins' practice squad to fill the roster spot.
Analysis: Dvoracek was never a big stat guy to begin with, and Aromashodu won't see significant playing time. Neither one belong on a Fantasy roster.
News: WR Devin Aromashodu was signed to the Redskins practice squad Monday. He was cut the Colts on Saturday.
Analysis: Aromashodu had just seven catches for 96 yards in two seasons with the Colts. He is nothing but organizational depth for Washington and can be ignored in Fantasy.
News: Indianapolis WR Devin Aromashodu was the recipient of a 94-yard TD pass from fourth-string QB Quinn Gray in the third quarter of Sunday's preseason game against the Bills.
Analysis: This was a nice moment for Aromashodu but he doesn't have any Fantasy value. Don't plan on drafting him in any leagues in 2008. The strapping Gray is a decent reserve passer in the NFL, but he shouldn't be anywhere near your Fantasy team. Ignore him.
News: The Colts signed WR Devin Aromashodu during the season in 2007 after he was cut during training camp. He appeared in seven games and finished with seven catches for 96 yards.
Analysis: Aromashodu has minimal Fantasy value. Don't plan on drafting him in any leagues in 2008.
News: Colts WR Devin Aromashodu had three catches for 42 yards Sunday against the Texans.
Analysis: Aromashodu could have increased Fantasy value in Week 17 against the Titans if the Colts announce they are going to rest their starters since they have nothing to play for. Keep an eye on what develops because Aromashodu could be worth adding this week.
News: Colts WR Devin Aromashodu caught two passes for 37 yards Week 15 at Oakland.
Analysis: The catches give Aromashodu exactly three for his career. Yeah ... we can confidently instruct you to leave him on waivers for Week 16 against the Texans.
News: Colts WR Devin Aromashodu caught one pass for 10 yards Week 14 at Baltimore.
Analysis: The catch gave Aromashodu exactly one for his career. Yeah ... we can confidently instruct you to leave him on waivers for Week 15 at Oakland.
News: Colts RB Clifton Dawson, WR Devin Aromashodu, TE Bryan Fletcher, TE Justin Snow and QB Jim Sorgi didn't record statistics Week 13 vs. Jacksonville.
Analysis: None of these players makes enough of a statistical contribution to deserve consideration in Fantasy. Leave all on waivers for Week 14 against the Ravens.
News: Colts RB Clifton Dawson, WR Devin Aromashodu, TE Bryan Fletcher, TE Justin Snow and QB Jim Sorgi didn't record statistics Week 12 at Atlanta.
Analysis: None of these players makes enough of a statistical contribution to deserve consideration in Fantasy. Leave all on waivers for Week 13 against the Jaguars.
News: Colts RB Clifton Dawson, TE Justin Snow, WR Devin Aromashodu and QB Jim Sorgi didn't record statistics Week 11 against the Chiefs.
Analysis: None of these players makes enough of a statistical contribution to deserve consideration in Fantasy. Keep all on waivers for Week 12 at Atlanta.
News: Colts.com reports the team re-signed CB/KR T.J. Rushing and WR Devin Aromashodu. Rushing was cut last week, and Aromashodu was cut after training camp and was signed off the Texans' practice squad.
Analysis: Both players provide nothing more than organizational depth and shouldn't be considered useful in any Fantasy league at this point.
News: The Colts settled with injured WR Devin Aromashodu and granted him his release.
Analysis: Aromashodu wasn't expected to be productive to begin with, so forget about him for Fantasy use.
News: The Colts added DB T.J. Rushing, WR John Standeford, RB Ran Carthon and WR Devin Aromashodu to the practice squad.
Analysis: These players are too far down the depth chart to own in Fantasy leagues right now. Ignore them.
News: The Dolphins waived 17 players Saturday: WR Devin Aromashodu, G C.J. Brooks, WR Kelly Campbell, WR Fred Gibson, RB Kay-Jay Harris, TE Keith Heinrich, S Jack Hunt, DE Ben Ishola, TE Teyo Johnson, CB Shirdonya Mitchell, T Tony Pape, RB Gerald Riggs, Jr., DT Josh Shaw, LB Matt Sinclair, CB Chris Thompson, T Orrin Thompson and WR/QB Marcus Vick.
Analysis: None of the players on this list are worthy of being owned in Fantasy leagues now.
News: The Dolphins have signed seventh-round pick Devin Aromashodu to a multi-year contract. He will compete for a spot on the roster in training camp this summer.
Analysis: Aromashodu's calling card is his speed and can punish defenders by blazing past them for long touchdowns. That will also help him on special teams. He's a little light (202 pounds at the NFL Combine) but may pick up 200-300 yards as a rookie. He should be avoided in all leagues except deeper dynasty keeper leagues that hold rookie-only drafts; there, he'd be a late-round pick.
