Will Blackmon returning to Jacksonville

(3/11/2014) The Jaguars announced the re-signing of defensive back Will Blackmon Tuesday, shortly after the open of free agency. Blackmon's deal is for two years, though the team did not announce financial terms for the 29-year-old.

Blackmon finished the 2013 season with 40 tackles, one interception and 10 passes defended in 15 games.

(3/9/2014) The Jaguars plan to re-sign cornerback Will Blackmon but must wait until Tuesday, reports the Florida Times-Union. Blackmon played under a one-year veteran's minimum contract last season and can't sign a new deal until the start of the league year Tuesday.

Blackmon played in 15 games last season, getting 40 tackles, 10 pass breakups and an interception.

(11/29/2013) The Jaguars placed 12 players on their Friday injury report, but nine are probable for the game against the Browns on Sunday.

The offensive players so designated are linemen Will Rackley (illness) and Cameron Bradfield (bicep) and wide receiver Cecil Shorts (groin). Running back Justin Forsett (foot) is out.

The defensive probables are cornerback Will Blackmon (shoulder), defensive end Andre Branch (knee), safety Winston Guy (shoulder), linebackers J.T. Thomas (ankle) and Geno Hayes (knee) and tackle Roy Miller (shoulder).

(11/22/2013) Several defensive players in various stages of recovery are on the injury report released Friday by the Jaguars.

Listed as questionable for the Sunday game against the Texans are defensive back Will Blackmon (shoulder) and linebacker Geno Hayes (knee). Those deemed probable are defensive backs Dwayne Gratz (hip) and Winston Guy (hamstring), linebacker Paul Posluszny (concussion) and linemen Abry Jones (back) and Roy Miller (shoulder).

Among the offensive players on the report is tight end Danny Noble, who is probable with a hamstring problem.


Will Blackmon's big play wins it for Jaguars

(11/10/2013) Jaguars defensive back Will Blackmon had just one tackle in Week 10 against the Titans, but he more than made it count. As the Titans were attempting to mount a comeback, Blackmon sacked and stripped quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, then picked up the ball and returned it 21 yards. His score provided the winning margin in a 29-27 victory.

(10/5/2009) Packers PR/KR Will Blackmon had to be helped off the field with a knee injury in a 30-23 loss to Minnesota on Monday night. Blackmon was injured in the second quarter. He cut to his right and his left knee appeared to buckle as he tried to head up field. Blackmon remained on the turf for several minutes and was taken on a cart to the locker room for examination. Coach Mike McCarthy said it was a sprained knee and Blackmon would be evaluated on Tuesday.
