News: The Baltimore Ravens moved the following players to injured reserve Monday in order to help meet the latest roster restrictions: linebacker Stevie Baggs (undisclosed); linebacker Darryl Blackstock (groin); defensive back Emanuel Cook (leg); and defensive lineman Ryan McBean (ankle).
Analysis: None of these players were expected to make a Fantasy impact this season and should be left off all rosters at this point.
News: If starting Oakland LB Rolando McClain (ankle) is unable to play in Week 7 against Kansas City, then Darryl Blackstock is expected to make his first start as a Raider. He has six career NFL starts but was out of the league in 2009 and 2010 when he played in the UFL. Hes done a great job getting himself to a point if he has to play we have total confidence in him, Oakland defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan said.
Analysis: McClain is listed as questionable for Sundays game with a lingering ankle injury he initially suffered two weeks ago against Houston. Hes not as well as he was a week ago," Raiders coach Hue Jackson said. "If hes not healthy enough to go, we wont let him go." Blackstock has recorded only four tackles this year and won't be a viable Fantasy replacement for McClain. Keep the 28-year-old on waivers for now.
News: Cincinnati linebacker Darryl Blackstock agreed Monday to stay with the Bengals. Blackstock, an unrestricted free agent, started four games last season and appeared in eight others, getting 17 tackles. He was suspended for four games by the NFL for using a performance-enhancing substance. The Bengals also re-signed defensive lineman Orien Harris, a second-year player who appeared in 14 games last season.
Analysis: Neither player is expected to be productive enough to warrant Fantasy use. Keep them both off of Fantasy rosters.
News: Bengals LB Darryl Blackstock was added to the roster, having served a four-game suspension for using a nutritional supplement that contained a substance banned by the NFL. Blackstock played in the first five games this season, starting one, and had four tackles on defense. To open a roster spot, the Bengals waived cornerback Geoffrey Pope, a first-year player from Howard. Pope played in three games and was on the practice squad for five games.
Analysis: Neither defender warrants use in Fantasy play.
News: The Bengals were given a one-week roster exemption Tuesday for linebacker Darryl Blackstock, who was suspended the last four games for using a nutritional supplement that contained a substance banned by the NFL. Blackstock is allowed to participate in meetings and practices this week - the team's bye week - without counting toward the 53-man roster. They would have to open a roster spot for him by next Monday if they want him to play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 16.
Analysis: Blackstock played in the first five games, including one start, and had four tackles on defense. He can return in Week 11 against the Eagles. He should not be starting in Fantasy as he has very little IDP value.
News: The NFL suspended Cincinnati Bengals reserve LB Darryl Blackstock for the next four games on Tuesday because he used a performance-enhancing substance. He will be eligible to return in Week 11 vs. Philadelphia.
Analysis: Blackstock has started one game this season with Cincy, and backup LBs have no Fantasy value. Continue to ignore him.
News: The Bengals agreed to terms on a one-year contract Monday with unrestricted free agent linebacker Darryl Blackstock, his agent said. Agent Brad Blank would not discuss terms of the deal, but said the 24-year-old Blackstock planned to sign Tuesday. The 6-foot-4, 244-pound Blackstock has 44 career tackles and four sacks in 46 games with the Cardinals, who chose him in the third round of the 2005 draft. He had 21 tackles and three sacks last season.
Analysis: Blackstock might be considered a sleeper because he might have a shot to start with the Bengals. If that's the case, then he'd be worth a draft pick in the deepest of IDP league drafts this summer.
News: Cardinals DB Terrence Holt (five tackles), LB Calvin Pace (four tackles), DB Antrel Rolle (four tackles) and LB Darryl Blackstock (fumble recovery) all contributed on defense in Arizona's 31-24 loss to the Saints in Week 15.
Analysis: Rolle and Pace are the only players in this group with minimal Fantasy value, and none of these guys should be started in Week 16 against the Falcons.
News: Cardinals LB Darryl Blackstock had one tackle -- a sack -- during a Week 13 win against the Browns. It was his third sack of the season and all have come in the last four games.
Analysis: Blackstock has just 13 tackles this season and just isn't filling the stat sheet. Fantasy owners should look elsewhere for help heading into Week 14.
News: Cardinals LB Gerald Hayes (nine tackles), DB Roderick Hood (six tackles), LB Calvin Pace (five tackles) and LB Darryl Blackstock (sack) all helped out in Arizona's 35-27 win over the Bengals in Week 11.
Analysis: Hayes, Hood and Pace have very minimal value as low-end reserves in IDP Fantasy leagues and shouldn't be used in Week 12 against the 49ers.
News: The Arizona Republic reports that Cardinals OLB Chike Okeafor has a torn left biceps muscle and would most likely be out for the season if he has surgery on it. With the Cardinals moving to a 3-4 defense, he was expected to be a key component on the outside. Calvin Pace, Joe Tafoya and Darryl Blackstock will battle for his spot.
Analysis: Expect Okeafor to be done for the season with the arm injury. Whomever replaces him would be at best a low-end reserve in IDP league play.
News: Rookie Darryl Blackstock agreed to terms with the Cardinals. He signed a three-year deal.
Analysis: Blackstock has no Fantasy stock in IDP leagues entering 2005.
