Brandon Browner

Browner back for postseason

News: Seattle defensive back Brandon Browner was reinstated to the roster Monday after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. He took the spot of fellow defensive back Walter Thurmond, who was placed on injured reserve. "He's worked out real hard," coach Pete Carroll said about Browner. "He's going to have fresh legs relative to other guys here 16 games into it."
Analysis: Before his suspension began on Dec. 9, Browner had started all 12 of the Seahawks' games this season. However, despite the ban, he also remained tied for the team lead in forced fumbles (three) and is second on the team in interceptions (three). Browner has nine total interceptions in his first two seasons with Seattle, returning two for touchdowns. Consider him a low-end option in most Fantasy IDP formats for 2013.

Browner hit with suspension

News: The NFL announced Wednesday Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner has been suspended four games for violating the league's policy on performing-enhancing substances. Browner isn't eligible for reinstatement until Dec. 31 and will miss the team's final four regular-season games. Coach Pete Carroll said Walter Thurmond will replace Browner in the starting lineup.
Analysis: Browner's regular season ends with him having 44 tackles, six pass defenses and three interceptions in 12 games. Fantasy IDP owners can dump him onto waivers now that his suspension begins immediately. The Seahawks DST does take a little hit because of Browner's absence. However, the Seahawks DST remains a viable Fantasy start Week 14 because of the team's matchup against the offensively-challenged Cardinals.

Sherman, Browner facing suspensions

News: According to ESPN.com, the NFL has suspended starting Seahawks defensive backs Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner for four games for violating the league’s policy and performance-enhancing drugs. The suspensions were confirmed by CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora after Seattle’s 24-21 loss to the Dolphins. Both players are appealing the suspensions and maintaining their innocence, so they will be able to play until the appeals are heard.
Analysis: Browner and Sherman are a big part of the Seahawks’ defense, so this could be something to keep an eye on moving forward. Browner had just one tackle in Week 12 against the Dolphins, and he has 38 on the season with three interceptions. We will monitor how this situation ends up, as both players are decent options in deeper Fantasy IDP formats.

No slim pickings for Browner

News: Seahawks defensive back Brandon Browner recorded a season-high seven tackles and an interception during Seattle's 30-20 victory over Minnesota in Week 9. Browner picked off Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder for his second interception over the past three games.
Analysis: Browner, in his second NFL season, has remained a stout cornerback opposite Richard Sherman to anchor a solid secondary for the Seahawks as the two have each posted three interceptions. Browner's tackle totals are often sporadic, but he's worth a roster spot in deeper Fantasy IDP formats.

Browner records three tackles

News: Seattle defensive back Brandon Browner had three tackles in Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Lions.
Analysis: Browner has yet to tackle more than six in a game, but he does have two interceptions on the year, which is where his value really lies. With 28 tackles on the season, Browner is a low-end IDP option.

Browner comes down with a pick

News: After registering six tackles in each of his last two games, Seattle defensive back Brandon Browner continued to make his impact during Thursday night's contest against the 49ers in Week 7. Browner registered just two tackles but was able to come down with an interception in the end zone during the fourth quarter of a 13-6 defeat.
Analysis: Browner has registered at least four tackles in four of seven games thus far while coming down with two interceptions this season. He recorded six interceptions during his rookie season and is already four away from matching his career-high. Fantasy owners should view him as a worthwhile option in deeper Fantasy IDP formats heading into Week 7.

Browner rebounds in Week 5

News: Seattle defensive back Brandon Browner matched the team lead with six tackles, including four solo stops, and forced a fumble during the Seahawks' 16-12 victory over Carolina in Week 5. Browner's total also represented a season high for the second-year cornerback.
Analysis: Browner rebounded from a poor showing in his last game when he was held without a tackle against the Rams. Regardless, he has been an effective member of the Seattle secondary and notched two passes defended and an interception this year. He's a worthwhile option in deeper Fantasy IDP formats.

Brandon Browner

Browner held off stat sheet Week 4

News: Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner had no stats Week 4 at St. Louis, He has 11 tackles (eight solo) and one interception in four games.
Analysis: Browner was a breakout Fantasy player in 2011 with six interceptions. Teams have shied away from him a bit in 2012 because of that, which is why his stats look weak through the first quarter of the season. Until Browner picks up the pace, then he is a low-end Fantasy option.

Browner gets INT in Week 2

News: Seahawks defensive back Brandon Browner recorded his first interception of the season in Week 2 against the Cowboys. He picked off Tony Romo in the first quarter also posted four solo tackles in the 27-7 win.
Analysis: Browner picked off six passes a year ago -- including returning two for touchdowns -- and proved to be productive in Fantasy with 54 tackles. He should be a viable option in deeper IDP formats again in 2012 so keep him active going forward.

Browner does little in debut

News: Seahawks defensive back Brandon Browner had a quiet season debut in Week 1 against the Cardinals, finishing with just four tackles -- two solo -- with no other stats accrued in a 20-16 loss.
Analysis: Browner got off to a slow start last season as well, recording just one interception in the first 10 weeks of the season before exploding for five picks in the final six games, so Fantasy owners should consider him more of a low-end Fantasy IDP option until he begins to display ball-hawking skills again.

Browner takes one to the house

News: Not only did Seahawks DB Brandon Browner record his fifth interception in four games Week 15 at Chicago, but he also returned it 42 yards for a touchdown. He had one solo tackle in the contest.
Analysis: After a slow start to the season, Browner has blown up over the last four weeks, emerging as a Fantasy-relevant DB. He has to slow down sooner or later, but you might as well ride him while he's hot in Fantasy IDP leagues. Check the waiver wire to see if he's unowned in yours.

Browner picks pass on big stage

News: Seahawks CB Brandon Browner forced the only turnover committed by the Rams on Monday night Week 14. Browner intercepted a Sam Bradford pass on Monday night in the win for Seattle. Browner finished the game with four tackles and three passes defended.
Analysis: Browner, the former Oregon State standout, now has 46 tackles on the season to go with five interceptions. That said, four of his five picks have come in the last three games as he's really been on a roll. Browner has taken one INT to the house this season and the way he's playing more could be on the way. In fact, Browner might be worth adding in deeper Fantasy IDP formats heading into Week 15 at Chicago.

Browner picks off two

News: Seattle DB Brandon Browner picked off his third and fourth passes of the season, taking advantage of Eagles QB Vince Young's inaccuracy in the Seahawks' 31-14 victory in Week 13. The interceptions give Browner three in his last two contests. He added three solo tackles.
Analysis: Browner is likely just in the middle of a hot streak coinciding with a couple of great matchups, as he faced Washington's erratic Rex Grossman in Week 12. Still, Browner should be gaining the attention of Fantasy players, and he's starting to emerge as a decent option in IDP formats.

Browner records interception Week 12

News: Seattle DB Brandon Browner recorded five tackles and an interception in the Week 12 loss to the Redskins on Sunday. Browner picked up his second interception of the season for Seattle.
Analysis: Browner had recorded five tackles in his previous four games combined. He's not a big tackle guy and that limits his Fantasy value. Browner has just low-end value in IDP formats.

Browner takes one to the house

News: Seahawks DB Brandon Browner helped seal his team's 36-25 win at the Giants in Week 5 with an interception that he returned 94 yards for a touchdown. He was credited with three passes defensed and six tackles.
Analysis: For Browner, the interception and all three passes defensed were his first of the season. He has been a decent source for tackles out of the secondary this season, but remains a very low-end IDP option despite the score.

Browner bags eight tackles

News: Seattle DB Brandon Browner recorded a season-high eight solo tackles during the Seahawks' 30-28 loss to Atlanta in Week 4 on Sunday. Browner nearly matched his total from his previous two outings combined (10) as Seattle permitted 412 total yards to the Falcons.
Analysis: Browner landed with Seattle after spending time on several teams' practice squads and now owns 22 tackles this season. His value is still limited and he should remain untouched in the majority of Fantasy IDP formats.

Brandon Browner waived

News: The Denver Broncos waived five players Monday, including safety Brandon Browner, who spent last season on the injured reserve list, linebacker Josh Buhl, and defensive end George Gause. Gause and Buhl were both members of the practice squad last season.
Analysis: Browner should not be added to Fantasy rosters anytime soon.
