Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner fitting in

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(4/24/2014) New Patriots cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner are meshing well with the team's defensive backs, safety Devin McCourty told the Boston Herald. "It seems those two guys are going to fit right in very well," he said.

"Revis and Browner coming in there, we’re excited just because we know what they’re able to do. I think our focus now is being able to put it together as a unit, so right now, we’re just working out. We’re just getting to know each other, hanging out, cracking jokes in the locker room. I think this is one of the more fun times of the season when you’re just getting better as a unit."

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/13/2014) Though he has to serve a four-game suspension to start the 2014 season, free-agent defensive back Brandon Browner has not had much trouble finding interested suitors.

Though NFL.com reports that Browner has reached an agreement with the Patriots on a two-year deal, other media sources indicate he is still available. According to ESPN.com, Browner's agent says he is still in negotiations with four teams as of Thursday night

"We aren't even close," agent Peter Schaffer said.

Browner played just eight games last season due to his suspension. He finished with 19 tackles and one interception, and has 10 interceptions in 36 career games.

Brandon Browner turns down reduced suspension

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/7/2013) Seahawks defensive back Brandon Browner isn't playing in Week 14 against the 49ers because of a groin injury, but that isn't the only thing he has to be concerned about. Browner still has that one-year suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy hanging over his head, and NFL.com reports Friday he turned down the opportunity to reduce the suspension.

Browner, who is currently appealing the suspension, was offered a deal that would have reduced his suspension by about three months, allowing him to return to the field next October. The appeals process it likely to take another few weeks, though it isn't clear when Browner would even be healthy enough to play at this point.

Conflicting reports surface on possible Brandon Browner suspension

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

This would be the second time Browner has violated the league's policy, which would net him an eight-game suspension if proven true.

Conflicting reports came out shortly after, with CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reporting that Browner has not failed a second drug test. However, a player can be suspended as part of the league's policy without failing a test.

La Canfora additionally reports that a source is adamant that the situation is not related to performance enhancing drugs. For his part, Browner also took to twitter to deny the reports, as did his agent, who characterized them as "100-percent wrong."

Browner is currently recovering from a groin injury, and is expected to be out until sometime in December.
