Saints land DT Bunkley

News: Amid all of the bounty penalties, free agent defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley agreed to a five-year contract with the Saints. This could fill the hole at defensive tackle with Shaun Rogers and Aubrayo Franklin being unrestricted free agents.
Analysis: Bunkley had a solid season for the Broncos but didn't even play on half of their defensive snaps. He's not considered a big enough stat producer to warrant Fantasy use.

Bunkley ends up in Denver

News: The Eagles announced Monday that they traded DT Brodrick Bunkley to the Broncos for an undisclosed draft pick in 2013. The former Florida State standout was reportedly traded to the Browns on Saturday, but it was voided.
Analysis: Bunkley was expendable when the team brought in top-notch free agent DL Cullen Jenkins. The former first-rounder will still have a chance to be productive on the young Denver defense, but Fantasy owners should consider him to be a wait-and-see option going forward. Don't pick him up until he proves his worth on a new team in a new scheme. Bunkley played in 14 games last season and recorded just 20 tackles in his fifth year with the Eagles, so he is far from a viable option in IDP leagues.

Bunkley shipped to Browns

News: Philadelphia traded DT Brodrick Bunkley to Cleveland on Saturday in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2012. Bunkley, a No.1 pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, became expendable when the Eagles signed free agent DT Cullen Jenkis earlier Saturday.
Analysis: Bunkley lost his starting job last year to Antonio Dixon, who wasn't even drafted, and never regained his stature with the team. He played in 14 games last season and recorded just 20 tackles in his fifth year with the Eagles. Leave him untouched in all upcoming Fantasy drafts.

Bunkley won't need surgery

News: Eagles coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Eagles DL Brodrick Bunkley has a sprained elbow and is day-to-day. He might try to play in Week 6 with a brace, but is unlikely
Analysis: As a guy who doesn't tackle or sack much, Bunkley isn't any kind of a Fantasy factor when healthy, so continue to ignore him in IDP formats.

Report: Bunkley out indefinitely

News: Philadelphia DL Brodrick Bunkley is out indefinitely with a torn ligament in his elbow. More tests will be run on Tuesday to determine if he is out for the rest of the season. Bunkley left the Week 5 win over San Francisco in the first quarter, he did not return.
Analysis: Bunkley should remain on waivers, especially when injured. Monitor the timetable for his return. When healthy, he could have minimal Fantasy value.

Bunkley gets sack, fumble recovery

News: Philadelphia DL Brodrick Bunkley recorded his first sack of the season on Monday night in a win at Washington. Bunkley added a fumble recovery and six tackles.
Analysis: Bunkley has 19 tackles on the season now in six games and often has minimal defensive stats for the Eagles. We'd leave him on waivers for Week 8 against the Giants.

Bunkley has first 2008 season

News: Eagles DL Brodrick Bunkley had one of the team's nine sacks during a Week 3 win against the Steelers. He also had one fumble recovery.
Analysis: Bunkley is a good run-stuffing defensive tackle for the Eagles, but he just doesn't get enough stats to matter in Fantasy.

Bunkley gets MRI on bum knee

News: The Sports Xchange reports that Eagles DT Brodrick Bunkley, who missed Weel 13's game against Seattle with a sprained knee, had an MRI on the knee Monday. Eagles coach Andy Reid said the MRI didn't show anything seriously wrong with the knee, but he didn't know whether Bunkley would be able to play this week.
Analysis: Bunkley has minimal Fantasy and should not be used in Week 14 against the Giants, even if healthy.

Eagles announce Week 13 inactives

News: Eagles inactives for Week 13 vs. Seattle include: DB Quintin Mikell, RB Tony Hunt DL Victor Abiamiri, DL Brodrick Bunkley and DL Montae Reagor. QB Donovan McNabb is also out.
Analysis: Aside from McNabb, everyone listed above doesn't produce enough stats to warrant use in Fantasy play. Keep them off of Fantasy rosters.

Bunkley hurts hamstring

News: Eagles DL Brodrick Bunkley suffered the only injury reported by head coach Andy Reid after the game Sunday against the Patriots. Bunkley left in the second half with a sore hamstring.
Analysis: Bunkley has minimal Fantasy and should not be used in Week 13 against Seattle even if healthy.

Eagles tally nine sacks in win

News: The Philadelphia Eagles had no trouble getting to Jon Kitna in their 56-21 win over the Lions in Week 3. They totaled nine sacks with DE Nick Cole (three sacks), DE Juqua Thomas (two sacks) and DT Brodrick Bunkley (two sacks) leading the way. DB Quintin Mikell had one sack, while one sack was credited to the team. Thomas and Mikell also had fumble recoveries.
Analysis: Cole is the only one of these players with any value in IDP leagues and could be worth a start st DE against the Giants in Week 4. The Eagles DST's secondary is beat up, so wait to see how healthy they get during the week before starting them on Sunday against their division rivals.

Bunkley missed flight

News: Eagles DL Brodrick Bunkley missed the team's flight to Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon and then was listed as inactive for Sunday night's game with the Colts. Bunkley, the Eagles' top pick out of Florida State in April's NFL draft, missed the team's 1 p.m. flight. The rookie flew on a commercial flight and arrived Saturday at about 6:15 p.m. He attended a scheduled defensive line meeting at 7:30. "We've been here a few years and that was the first time someone missed a flight," Eagles coach Andy Reid said. "I'm not going to listen to too many excuses." An Eagles spokesman would not comment before the game on whether Bunkley had been fined. This marked the first game Bunkley has missed this season. The tackle started on the wrong foot with the team this summer after missing 29 practices in a contract holdout. In 10 games, all as a reserve, he has just nine tackles, no sacks and one hurry.
Analysis: Bunkley has no Fantasy value at this time.

Eagles Week 12 inactives

News: The Philadelphia Eagles have announced LB Shawn Barber (knee), DL Brodrick Bunkley (toe), OG Max Jean-Gilles, CB Williams James, OT Winston Justice, OT Patrick McCoy, RB Ryan Moats and LB Jason Short (ankle) are inactive for Week 12 at Indianapolis.
Analysis: None of the players mentioned above are worthy of Fantasy consideration for Week 13 against Carolina.

Bunkley misses flight

News: The Delaware County Times reports that Eagles DT Brodrick Bunkley missed the team flight to Indianapolis and had to buy his own seat and fly alone to get with the team. He may be fined or suspended for being tardy.
Analysis: Bunkley's playing time is limited to begin with, so consider this insignificant news. Bunkley should only be owned in deeper IDP keeper leagues.

Bunkley on injury report

News: Eagles DL Brodrick Bunkley (toe) is listed as probable for Week 12 at Indianapolis.
Analysis: Bunkley should not be on any seasonal IDP rosters at this time, but could be stored away in keeper leagues, if you have the roster space.

Bunkley riding the pine

News: Eagles rookie defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley, the team's first-round pick in the April draft, dressed but didn't play at all in Sunday's loss to Tennessee. He has been used sparingly most of the season. "Well, he's working at getting better every week is what he is doing," Eagles head coach Andy Reid said. "That is sometimes what happens when you are young."
Analysis: Bunkley should not be on any seasonal IDP rosters at this time, but could be stored away in keeper leagues, if you have the roster space.

Bunkley signs with Eagles

News: Defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley agreed to a six-year contract with the Eagles, ending the first-round pick's two-week holdout. Bunkley, the 14th pick in the NFL draft, missed 16 days of camp. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound defensive tackle won't play in Sunday's game against Oakland. The Eagles selected Bunkley to fill a glaring need in the middle of a line that hardly generated a strong rush on quarterbacks last season. At Florida State, Bunkley proved to be a versatile player who can rush the passer and stuff the run. He had nine sacks, 66 tackles and two fumble recoveries as a senior. Eagles head coach Andy Reid and defensive coordinator Jim Johnson were concerned that Bunkley's absence from camp would delay his progress. One bright spot is that tackle is the easiest position to learn in Johnson's complex system.
Analysis: Bunkley should be a nice run stuffer for the Eagles, but probably isn't a good IDP pick for 2006. Owners should only draft him in rookie-only keeper leagues with a middle- to late-round choice.
