Quartet of Broncos pitch in with meager output Sunday

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/16/2014) In an uncharacteristically meager offensive performance by the Broncos in St. Louis on Sunday, several skill position players provided small contributions.

Included were wide receiver Andre Caldwell and tight end Jacob Tamme, who managed 31 yards receiving apiece while Wes Welker added just 28 on four receptions. Running back Juwan Thompson chipped in with one catch for five yards.

Broncos list seven as probable Week 6

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/10/2014) The Broncos have listed seven players as probable Week 6 against the Jets.

David Bruton, Andre Caldwell, Chris Harris, Lerentee McCray, Brandon McManus, Michael Schofield and Juwan Thompson should all be able to play Sunday. All seven were able to take part in full practice Friday.

Broncos will know more on Andre Caldwell Wednesday

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/6/2014) Broncos head coach John Fox told reporters that the team will know more about the extent of wide receiver Andre Caldwell's injury on Wednesday when the official practice report is released for Week 6, per ESPN. Caldwell left Week 5 against Arizona with a knee injury. Cody Latimer would be next up if Caldwell is unable to play against the Jets on Sunday.

Broncos' Andre Caldwell questionable to return Week 5

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/5/2014) Broncos receiver Andre Caldwell is questionable to return Week 5.

Caldwell is dealing with a knee injury. He does not have a catch yet, and has only been targeted once during the contest.

Broncos get offensive contributions

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/8/2014) The Broncos got several offensive contributions in their Week 1 win over the Colts. Backup running back C.J. Anderson ran four times for 27 yards, wideout Andre Caldwell caught two of five targets for 16 yards, and tight end Virgil Green had an 8-yard catch.

Andre Caldwell likely ahead of Cody Latimer

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/4/2014) Even though the Broncos drafted rookie receiver Cody Latimer in the second round of the NFL Draft, Andre Caldwell is still expected to be No. 4 on the depth chart, reports the Denver Post.

The Broncos will go with Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker and Emmanuel Sanders as their Top 3 receivers, and Caldwell will be No. 4 ahead of Latimer.

The report says Caldwell will be the kickoff returner as well, and Latimer is still trying to recover from a foot injury.

Broncos keeping WR Andre Caldwell

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(3/11/2014) The Broncos will sign receiver Andre Caldwell to a two-year deal worth just under $3.5 million, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday.

Caldwell had 16 catches for 200 yards and three scores in 2013 -- with 59 yards and two of the touchdowns coming in a Week 15 game when the Broncos were without Wes Welker. Caldwell has never posted more than 450 yards or three touchdowns in any of his six NFL seasons.

Denver gets contribution from a couple of role players

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(12/29/2013) The Broncos received offensive contributions from a couple role players during Sunday's win over the Raiders in Week 17. Ronnie Hillman rushed for 30 yards on 12 carries, averaging 2.5 yards per attempt. He was targeted once. Andre Caldwell finished as the team's second leading receiver with three catches for 42 yards on six targets.

Andre Caldwell comes back to earth with two catches

by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer
(12/22/2013) Broncos wide receiver Andre Caldwell caught two passes for 12 yards in Sunday's 37-13 win over the Texans. He was targeted three times.

Caldwell had six catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns in Week 15 against the Chargers. But Peyton Manning kept his passing mainly to his group of preferred targets in Week 16 -- throwing mainly to Demaryius and Julius Thomas and Eric Decker.

The Broncos face the Raiders in Week 17.

Andre Caldwell still a deep league play

by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer
(12/17/2013) Broncos wide receiver Andre Caldwell caught six passes off 11 targets for 59 yards and two touchdowns in Denver's Week 15 loss to San Diego. It was, by far, the best game of Caldwell's season.

And while things seem to be in place for Caldwell to repeat the performance -- as he fills in for Wes Welker -- there's still enough risk here for Caldwell to be left in the deeper leagues.

The Broncos could opt to use Jacob Tamme in some of Caldwell's spots on offense. Additionally, the Texans have allowed the second-fewest passing yards to opponents this season, and Peyton Manning has Decker, Demaryius Thomas, and Julius Thomas -- as well as two pass-catching running backs -- to spread the ball around to.

While Caldwell could just slide into Welker's role and continue the production, there's even a slim chance Welker comes back and plays this week.

It all adds up to Caldwell being an iffy factor in deep (18 teams) leagues, and a very big gamble in anything shallower.

Andre Caldwell comes on strong while filling in

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/13/2013) With Wes Welker sidelined by a concussion, Broncos wide receiver Andre Caldwell had a huge impact in Week 15 against the Chargers Thursday.

Caldwell led the team in every receiving category Thursday, as he hauled in six of the 10 passes thrown his way. He racked up 59 yards and scored twice in the game. He opened the game with a 15-yard score on the first drive, and added a 5-yarder in the fourth quarter as the Broncos desperately tried to come back in a 27-20 loss.

Caldwell entered the game with just five receptions for 87 yards and one touchdown on the season, so he almost literally came out of nowhere to play such a large role. Whether Caldwell can continue his success in Week 16 against the Texans will likely depend on Welker's availability yet again.

Broncos backup pass-catchers do little Week 13

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(12/1/2013) The Broncos backup pass-catchers did little Week 13 against the Chiefs.

Andre Caldwell caught just one pass for 4 yards. Jacob Tamme was targeted three times, and caught one pass for 3 yards. Virgil Green caught one pass for 2 yards.

Broncos get key contributors in Week 8 win

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/27/2013) The Broncos received minor contributions from several key role players during Sunday's win over the Redskins in Week 8.

In the running game, C.J. Anderson got on the field for his first game of the season, racking up 22 yards on four carries. Wide receiver Trindon Holliday lined up in the backfield and broke for a 7-yard run in the second quarter for his only action of the day.

Wide receiver Andre Caldwell caught a 14-yard pass from Peyton Manning for his only catch of the day despite receiving two targets. Tight end Jacob Tamme also caught his only targeted pass for a gain of 15 yards. Tight end Virgil Green was held without a catch despite earning a target.

Broncos special team players get some work on offense

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/13/2013) Broncos safety David Bruton and wide receiver Andre Caldwell each had a carry Week 6 against the Jaguars.

Bruton converted a fake punt, picking up 35 yards on his only run. Caldwell was used on an end around, and notched 7 yards. While Caldwell has been used in the passing game occasionally this season, he did not receive a target Week 6.

Both players will take on the Colts next week.

Broncos get extra contributions in passing game

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/15/2013) In addition to his big four receivers, Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning looked for other targets in the win over the Giants. Receiver Andre Caldwell caught a 36-yard pass down the sideline, and tight end Virgil Green caught a 5-yard pass. Those were their only targets of the game.

Denver hosts Oakland in Week 3.

Andre Caldwell finds the end zone

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/6/2013) Broncos wide receiver Andre Caldwell needed just one game to match his receptions total from last season, and he made it count Thursday against the Ravens in Week 1.

Caldwell was targeted just once, and he brought in a 28-yard touchdown reception, his first since 2011.

The Broncos dominated through the air in a 49-27 win. Their next game comes in Week 2 against the Giants.

Caldwell joins Broncos

(3/21/2012) Wide receiver Andre Caldwell signed a two-year deal with Denver on Wednesday. Caldwell ended last season on the injured reserve because of a groin injury but he's expected to be ready for the start of the season. In 13 games for the Bengals last season, Caldwell caught 37 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns. He has 124 career receptions in four seasons. Caldwell said that Peyton Manning signing with Denver was a big factor. "He's a veteran quarterback who knows how to win games. He knows how to put players in positions to be their best. He gets the best out of his receivers," Caldwell said. "It got real serious after they got Peyton. It heated up and I was all on board after they signed Peyton."

Caldwell goes on injured reserve

(12/27/2011) Bengals WR Andre Caldwell was placed on season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday with a groin injury. Caldwell will obviously miss the final game of the regular season.

Caldwell comes up empty

(12/4/2011) Bengals WR Andre Caldwell didn't catch a pass at the Steelers in Week 13. He wasn't even targeted once.

Caldwell held to 24 yards

(11/27/2011) Bengals WR Andre Caldwell, who came into Week 12 vs. Cleveland with two touchdowns in his last three games, could not add to his TD total. He was held to three catches for 24 yards.

Caldwell looks to add onto TD total

(11/22/2011) Bengals WR Andre Caldwell heads into Week 12 against the Browns having scored in two of three games in November. Caldwell hasn't scored in six career games against Cleveland, but he has 13 catches for 171 yards. The Browns are yielding 12.4 Fantasy points per week to WRs, which is the lowest average in the NFL, and no receiver has a 100-yard game against Cleveland. Also, receivers have just four touchdowns against Cleveland.

Caldwell scores against Ravens

(11/20/2011) Bengals WR Andre Caldwell got the start in the Week 11 loss at Baltimore with A.J. Green missing the game due to injury. Caldwell made the most of his start as he found the end zone for a 49-yard touchdown pass from QB Andy Dalton in the fourth quarter as the Bengals frantically tried to come back in the game. Caldwell finished the contest with three receptions for 63 yards and the TD. He was targeted nine times in the passing game.

Caldwell starting for Bengals

(11/20/2011) Bengals wide receiver Andre Caldwell is starting Week 11 at Baltimore with A.J. Green sidelined by a knee injury. Caldwell, who caught three passes for 25 yards last week against Pittsburgh, should see more looks from QB Andy Dalton alongside Jerome Simpson in the passing offense.

Caldwell is top target in Week 10

(11/13/2011) WR Andre Caldwell led the Bengals in targets with eight in a Week 10 loss to the Steelers, but he was not able to convert those opportunities into yardage. Caldwell finished the afternoon with only three catches for 25 yards.

Caldwell records touchdown catch

(11/6/2011) Cincinnati receiver Andre Caldwell hauled in a 5-yard touchdown pass from QB Andy Dalton -- his third on the afternoon -- during Sunday's Week 9 game at Tennessee. Caldwell was involved in the offense plenty on Sunday as he recorded five catches for 22 yards in the game. Most of Caldwell's action came after halftime as the Bengals had to throw the ball after a halftime deficit. Caldwell's longest grab of the game went for 7 yards as he was not thrown to deep by Dalton. That said, Dalton did target him nine times to finish second on the team.
