News: The Bulls team website reports that tight end Scott Chandler is having ACL surgery Thursday coming off the Week 16 knee injury he sustained against the Dolphins. Im doing well right now, Chandler said. Ive got surgery scheduled for Thursday so I wont be going along so well after that. But Im anxious to get it done and get back on the road to recovery and be ready to go next year. Chandler said there isnt anything complicated about his surgery. Its a pretty straightforward ACL from what I understand, he said. You trust that those guys know what theyre doing and Im going to do everything I can to be ready as soon as I can. The onus is on the guy doing the recovery so Ill be working hard at it and hopefully be back out there.
Analysis: Chandler has the chance to be ready for the start of the 2013 season. Keep an eye on his progress, and he should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy option next year. He finished 2012 with 43 catches for 571 yards and six touchdowns, either tying or setting career-highs in every category.
News: The Buffalo Bills announced that the team has placed tight end Scott Chandler on Injured Reserve. Chandler suffered what is believed to be a severe knee injury at Miami in Week 16.
Analysis: Chandler's season ends with 43 catches for 571 yards and six touchdowns, either tying or setting career-highs in every category. Depending on the severity of the injury, Chandler might not be available for the start of the 2013 season and might struggle to gain his role back in the Bills offense. As such, Fantasy owners shouldn't count on him going forward in any format.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler wasted little time making an impact in Week 16 against the Dolphins Sunday, as he brought in a 25-yard reception on the teams first drive of the game. Unfortunately, he seemed to come up lame at the end of that catch, and he went down with an apparent left leg injury. Chandler had to be carted to the locker room as a result of the injury, and he was unable to return to the game.
Analysis: Chandler has been diagnosed with a left knee injury, despite Chandler appearing to grab his hamstring when he went down. The extent of the injury is not currently known, but it would certainly be a surprise if he is able to play next Sunday, given how quickly he went to the locker room. We will keep an eye on his status heading into the final week of the season, but Chandler will probably not be worth using in most Fantasy formats for Week 17 against the Jets.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler encountered no issues in preparation for Week 16 against the Dolphins, and was able to play through a lingering foot injury Sunday. He was considered probable for the game, and was never in serious jeopardy to miss time.
Analysis: Chandler had just 30 receiving yards on two catches in a prior meeting between these two teams, and the Dolphins allow just 5.9 Fantasy points per game to tight ends. Chandler is only worth getting active in deeper Fantasy formats, despite shaking off the injury.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler practiced on a limited basis for the second consecutive day Friday after sitting out Wednesday's session to rest a foot injury. Chandler is officially ruled as probable for Sunday's contest at Miami in Week 16. He managed to total just two receptions for 30 yards against the Dolphins earlier in the season.
Analysis: Coach Chan Gailey was encouraged by Chandler's progress earlier in the week, so this news comes as no surprise for Fantasy owners. Chandler is on track to play but his recent performance has left something to be desired, and the Dolphins have proven very tough against tight ends this season. Opposing tight ends are averaging just 5.9 Fantasy points per game this season against Miami, the third-lowest mark in the league. Chandler is having a career campaign, but he continues to be unreliable from a Fantasy standpoint. He is just a low-end Fantasy option when healthy.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday to rest a foot injury. Coach Chan Gailey was encouraged by Chandler's progress and said he was "surprised he was back early." If Chandler is able to play through the foot injury, he will take on the Dolphins in Week 16 Sunday. He managed to total just two receptions for 30 yards against the Dolphins earlier in the season.
Analysis: It seems Chandler is legitimately injured, but it sounds as though he is on track to play Week 16. Chandlers recent performance has left something to be desired, and the Dolphins have proven very tough against tight ends this season. Opposing tight ends are averaging just 5.9 Fantasy points per game this season against Miami, the third-lowest mark in the league. News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler matched his season-high in receptions against the Seahawks in Week 15. He caught five passes for 58 yards in the 50-17 loss. He had a long catch of 21 and averaged 11.6 yards per grab. Chandler, who was targeted eight times, finished second on Buffalo in receiving behind wideout Steve Johnson (115 yards) in the defeat.
Analysis: Chandler has become a decent contributor in Fantasy over the last two seasons and is having a career campaign. He needs one more touchdown to surpass the six he posted a year ago and is starting to trend up with two games left. Heading into Week 16 against the Dolphins, consider Chandler a low-end Fantasy tight end. When the division foes met earlier in the year, Chandler caught two passes for 30 yards.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler has been ruled active for Week 15 against the Seahawks after showing up on the injury report with a groin injury. Seattle ranks fourth in the league in pass defense, giving up under 197 yards per game, and has allowed an average of 6.4 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Chandler caught five passes for a season-high 71 yards his last time out but has a tough test Sunday. Seattle has allowed just 42 yards to opposing tight ends in the last two contests. Fantasy owners should consider Chandler as a low-end option in most formats for Week 15.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler participated in practice all week despite dealing with a lingering groin injury. Chandler, who was a full participant in practice Friday, is listed as probable for Sunday's contest against the Seahawks in Week 15. He played in Week 14 and racked up a season-high with 71 yards on five catches against the Rams. If healthy, he'll face a Seattle defense that has allowed just 42 yards to opposing tight ends in the last two contests.
Analysis: Chandler has already proven that he can play through his injury so he we expect him to be out on the field and start on Sunday. He has 37 catches for 488 yards and six touchdowns on the year and is just one more touchdown and two more receptions for new career bests in those categories. Opposing tight ends have scored an average of 6.4 Fantasy points per game against the Seahawks this season, which is the 10th fewest allowed in the league. Fantasy owners should consider him as a low-end option in most formats heading into Week 15.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler was limited in practice for the second day in a row Thursday as his team continues to prepare for Week 15 at home against Seattle. Chandler, who is dealing with a lingering groin injury, played in Week 14 and racked up a season-high with 71 yards on five catches against the Rams. If healthy, he'll face a Seattle defense that has allowed just 42 yards to opposing tight ends in the last two weeks
Analysis: Chandler has already proven that he can play through this groin injury and the fact that he has already practiced twice this week suggests that he will do so again on Sunday. Fantasy owners should consider him as a low-end option in most formats heading into a tough Week 15 matchup.

News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler was held out of the end zone in Week 14 against the Rams, but he found ways to make up for that. Chandler established a new season-high with 71 receiving yards on the game, matching Steve Johnson for the team lead. He was targeted five times in the passing game, bringing in all five passes in a 15-12 loss. Chandler had a chance to score, but the Bills went with backup tight end Lee Smith on a 2-yard score.
Analysis: Chandler has already established a new career high in receiving yards this season, and he needs just one more touchdown and two more receptions for new career bests in those categories. Chandler will attempt to keep his play up in Week 15, against a tough Seahawks defense. Seattle allowed just 6.5 Fantasy points per game to tight ends this season, so continue to consider him more of a low-end Fantasy option for the matchup.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler was a full participant in practice all week leading up to his Week 14 matchup at home against the Rams. Chandler, who is dealing with a groin injury, is listed as probable for Sunday's game. He'll face a St. Louis team that has allowed the ninth-fewest Fantasy points to tight ends this year.
Analysis: Chandler had three games with nine or more Fantasy points over the first four weeks of the season. He is 13th in Fantasy points among tight ends this season, but ranks just 29th over the last three weeks, with fewer points than Jeff Cumberland, Charles Clay, and even Vernon Davis. With a depleted Buffalo receiving corps, one could argue that Chandler could be on the fringe of being considered a wide receiver, but it doesn't help his prospects much -- the Rams have given up the ninth-fewest points to wide receivers, as well. Chandler has four weeks with 50 or more receiving yards and five weeks with a touchdown, but it's hard to predict when the big weeks will come, especially if he's at the mercy of the increasingly-inconsistent Ryan Fitzpatrick. With the tight end position offering plenty of options, Chandler can be left on the bench -- or even on waiver wires, at this point -- in most formats.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler had three games with nine or more Fantasy points over the first four weeks of the season. Since then, however, he's had just one double-digit performance. He heads into Week 14 staring down a St. Louis team that has allowed the ninth-fewest Fantasy points to tight ends this year.

News: For the first time in three games and only the second time in eight games, Bills tight end Scott Chandler scored a touchdown Week 13 against the Jaguars, connecting with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick on an 11-yard strike in the second quarter. It was Chandler's only catch of the day, though his four targets were second-most on the team.
Analysis: How could Chandler have gotten only one catch for 11 yards if he was the second-most-targeted player on the team? Well, no one was targeted all that much. On a rainy and windy day, the running games shouldered the burden for the Bills, with Fitzpatrick completing only 9 of 17 passes for 112 yards. That said, Chandler has only twice gone over 60 yards this season -- and that includes that stretch at the beginning of the season when he had four touchdown catches in four games. He's basically a touchdown-or-bust-type Fantasy option, and with the way the Bills offense has gone recently, he's been bust more often than not. Maybe they're on the verge of turning things around, but you still probably shouldn't trust Chandler outside of deeper leagues for Week 14 against the Rams.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler, who was dealing with a groin injury in practice leading up to the game, is active for Week 13 against the Jaguars. The team had listed him as probable for the contest.
Analysis: Chandler production has slipped in recent weeks with the struggles of the Bills passing game, but the Bills have a chance to get back on track with this favorable matchup. Still, because Chandler tends to be a touchdown-or-bust-type Fantasy option, you should probably leave him for deeper leagues.
News: Buffalo tight end Scott Chandler is considered probable for Week 13 against Jacksonville as a result of a minor groin issue. Chandler was able to practice in full throughout the past week as he looks to rebound quickly from a lackluster stretch recently. Chandler has just four catches for 56 yards and no touchdowns in his last two games after having eight catches for 116 yards and one touchdown in his previous two outings. His matchup Week 13 against Jacksonville doesn't necessarily work in his favor either. Though the Jaguars rank 28th against the pass, allowing 274.5 yards per game, they've surrendered the sixth-fewest Fantasy points to tight ends this season.
Analysis: Chandler remains a top red-zone target for the Bills, so he's a threat to score any given week, regardless of the matchup. If the Bills are able to move the ball against the Jaguars -- and the numbers suggest they will be -- Chandler might just get a chance to score. He doesn't figure to have a huge game yardage-wise, though, and at this point in the season, you can probably do better than a touchdown-or-bust type at tight end. Leave Chandler for the deeper Fantasy leagues in Week 13.
News: Tight end Scott Chandler has been one of several Bills receiving targets to suffer with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick averaging just 174.0 passing yards over the last two games. Chandler has just four catches for 56 yards and no touchdowns in his last two games after having eight catches for 116 yards and one touchdown in his previous two. His matchup Week 13 against Jacksonville doesn't necessarily work in his favor either. News: In the Bills' Week 12 loss at the Colts, tight end Scott Chandler caught a pair of passes for 26 yards. He was targeted just three times despite playing for the majority of the game for the Bills.
Analysis: Chandler's been touted as a decent Fantasy tight end for several weeks but maybe that should be reconsidered. He has three catches or less in seven games of 11 games and only one touchdown since starting the year with one in back-to-back games. Though he and the Bills begin a three-game stretch as the home team against the Jags, Rams and Seahawks, think about going in another direction at tight end since Chandler just isn't posting even decent Fantasy totals on a consistent basis.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler got off to a great start, but then disappeared in the second half against the Dolphins in Week 11. Chandler, who was not active the last time his team faced Miami, caught two passes for 30 yards in a 19-14 victory. He was targeted four times but did not have a pass thrown his way in the second half. He was the third-leading receiver on the team behind Steve Johnson (79 yards) and C.J. Spiller (39 yards).
Analysis: Just a week after getting in the end zone against the Patriots, Chandler fell back to reality and turned in another mediocre performance against a defense who is not that great against tight ends. He'll try to bounce back on the road against the Colts in week 11, who have allowed just two touchdowns to tight ends all season. Fantasy owners should view him as a decent reserve option in most formats heading into Week 12.
News: Buffalo tight end Scott Chandler was not active the last time the Bills played at home against the Dolphins last season. Chandler gets another chance to face Miami in front of the home crowd on Thursday night of Week 11. Chandler did play against the Fins once last season and had a solid game with six catches for 71 yards. Miami has been middle of the road against tight ends this season but Jared Cook caught a touchdown pass against them last week, the first they have allowed all year.
Analysis: Chandler caught four touchdown passes in his first four games this season and only has one since. The good news is that touchdown catch came last week at New England as he finished with five grabs for 65 yards in his best yardage game of the season. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has begun to utilize him once again and Chandler can be considered a low-end No. 1 or high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE option for the Thursday night affair.
News: Buffalo tight end Scott Chandler had a nice performance in the Week 10 loss to the Patriots on Sunday afternoon. Chandler had the second-highest catch total for the Bills as he caught five passes from quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick for 65 yards. Chandler caught a 3-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter from Fitzpatrick. He was targeted eight times overall in the game.
Analysis: Chandler scored four touchdowns in his first four games this season but did not have another until going for the score in the Week 10 contest. Back in the end zone, does this mean Chandler will go on another hot streak? He is definitely a tight end to watch heading into Week 11 against Miami. Still, there are probably better options available.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler will be looking to snap his end zone drought heading into Week 10 at New England. Chandler has not scored a touchdown since Week 4 against the Patriots, which he has had success against in the past. He has not had more than 62 yards in a game against New England, but has scored three touchdowns in his last three meetings against them, including two this season. The Patriots have allowed five touchdowns to opposing tight ends, but just one in their last three games.
Analysis: Chandler had his best game of the season against the Patriots his last time out, but has not caught more than four passes and has not surpassed 65 yards receiving in a game this season. He will face a New England defense that has allowed just 9.5 Fantasy points per game thus far. Chandler has only scored double-digit Fantasy points three times this season and should be left for deeper formats heading into Week 10.
News: Buffalo tight end Scott Chandler had a decent game Sunday at the Texans in Week 9. Chandler had three catches for 51 yards on five targets. Chandler has now gone four games in a row without a touchdown, but his five Fantasy points were his highest total since Week 4 against New England.
Analysis: It's a positive sign that he's coming off a productive game heading into Week 10 since he's facing the Patriots in a rematch. Chandler had four catches for 62 yards and two touchdowns against New England in Week 4, and he should be considered a potential starter in Week 10.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler started the season playing well with four touchdowns in his first four games. Since then he hasn't scored and has combined for seven catches for 59 yards. He faces the Texans in Week 9, and Houston has allowed four touchdowns to opposing tight ends with two reaching double digits in Fantasy points.
Analysis: Chandler is a risky starting option in the majority of leagues. He should only be considered a No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues, and hopefully he can snap his scoring drought against the Texans.
News: Tennessee entered Week 7 as the worst team in the league at defending opposing tight ends, so there was some hope that Bills tight end Scott Chandler was in store for a big game. Instead, Chandler was largely a non-factor in the passing game in a 35-34 loss. Chandler brought in just two passes for 15 yards in the loss. He has now posted consecutive disappointing games in a row.
Analysis: Chandler got off to a strong start to the season, with four touchdowns in the first four games of the season. He was averaging three catches for 43.8 yards in those four games as well. His production has completely flat lined over the last two games, with three catches for just 19 yards combined. The Bills have a bye in Week 8 so hopefully Chandler can get things figured out before they return to action. The Bills next game is set for Week 9 against the Texans, a team that has been vulnerable against tight ends this season. The Texans are allowing 8.0 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, but Chandler should be left for just deeper Fantasy formats in Week 9.
News: No team has struggled to defend tight ends more than Tennessee this season, which bodes very well for Bills tight end Scott Chandler in Week 7. Chandler is coming off his worst game of the season, as he managed to catch just one pass for 4 yards in a Week 6 win against the Cardinals. Tennessee has been torched by tight ends, allowing a league-worst eight catches for 82.5 yards per game through the first six contests of the season.
Analysis: Chandler has emerged as a useful red-zone target for the Bills this season, and the Titans have been absolutely destroyed by tight ends so far. Tennessee has allowed at least six catches and 60 yards in each game this season to tight ends. They have also surrendered seven touchdown, for an average of 14.7 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. Chandler has an excellent opportunity to get going in Week 7, and should be active in most Fantasy formats for Week 7.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler was not much of a factor in Week 6 against the Cardinals. Chandler hauled in just one pass for 4 yards in the 16-13 overtime win, which came at the end of the second quarter. He was only targeted three times by Ryan Fitzpatrick. Steve Johnson led Buffalo in receiving with six receptions for 82 yards in the win.
Analysis: Chandler was a complete non-factor Sunday afternoon as Arizona did a great job of shadowing him for most of the game. Still, Fantasy owners were hoping for a little more out of the 27-year-old, as his performance did not even result in a point for most owners in CBSSports.com standard formats. Chalk it up as one of those days for Chandler, who will now look to bounce back in Week 7 against the Titans. Tennessee has been dreadful at defending the pass this season and Chandler hauled in three receptions for 48 yards in his lone career meeting against them last year. Despite his latest performance, Fantasy owners should continue to view Chandler as a viable low-end option in most formats heading into his next matchup.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler looks to have a fairly tough matchup on tap in Week 6 against the Cardinals. Arizona enters the contest rankled 19th in pass defense after allowing an average of 231 passing yards per game. The Cardinals have surrendered five total touchdowns through the air while yielding an average of just 5.4 Fantasy points to opposing TEs, which ranks ninth overall.
Analysis: Chandler has been one of the more pleasant surprises in Fantasy this season as he enters Week 6 as the sixth highest scoring TE, in terms of Fantasy points, in all CBSSports.com standard formats. That is in large part due to his four TD receptions, which has him tied with Tony Gonzalez, Heath Miller and Vernon Davis for the league lead. Chandler continues to be one of Ryan Fitzpatrick's favorite options in the passing game as he is second on Buffalo in targets (29), receptions (16) and receiving yards (215). While the Cardinals have been decent at defending the pass this year, we would expect Chandler to see plenty of passes thrown in his direction Sunday. Consider him a decent low-end starter heading into Week 6.
News: In his first game back after suffering a head injury, Bills tight end Scott Chandler turned in a decent performance as he led the team in receiving on the road against the 49ers in Week 5. Chandler turned six targets in a team-high four catches for 40 yards, averaging 10 yards per reception in a 45-3 defeat. He also caught a short pass for 11 yards but coughed up the ball back to San Francisco with under 30 seconds remaining in the first half. The 49ers eventually scored on the very next play to break the game open.
Analysis: Chandler, who has four touchdowns this season, was held out of the end zone for just the second time this year. He has been targeted at least four times in each of his first five games thus far. He has 16 catches for 215 yards this season and is one of Ryan Fitzpatrick's top targets in the red zone, making him a threat to score each week. Fantasy owners should consider him as a decent option in mixed formats heading into Week 6 on the road against Arizona. The Cardinals allowed just seven yards and a touchdown to Lance Kendricks, the Rams' tight end in Week 5.
News: As expected, Bills tight end Scott Chandler was listed as active and will take the field in Sunday's Week 5 contest on the road against the 49ers. Chandler suffered a head injury in Week 4 against the Patriots and has practiced in full all week leading up to Sunday. Chandler caught four passes for 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Week 4 against New England. He'll face a San Francisco defense that has permitted 8.50 Fantasy points against opposing tight ends thus far.
Analysis: Chandler already has four touchdowns through four games, and is not expected to be limited on the field despite dealing with a head injury. Chandler has caught 12 passes for 175 yards and has found the end zone four times already this season. He had two touchdowns in Week 4, and is considered a decent low-end Fantasy starter for Week 5.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler was a full participant in practice Friday as the team prepares for Week 5 against the 49ers. Chandler, who is listed as probable, suffered a head injury in Week 4 against the Patriots and has practiced in full all week leading up to Sunday. Chandler caught four passes for 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Week 4 against New England. He'll face a San Francisco defense that has permitted 8.50 Fantasy points against opposing tight ends thus far.
Analysis: Chandler already has four touchdowns through four games, so it is good to see that he should not have any issues with the injury. Chandler has caught 12 passes for 175 yards and has found the end zone four times already this season. He had two touchdowns in Week 4, and is considered a decent low-end Fantasy starter for Week 5.
News: The Bills removed tight end Scott Chandler from the injury report Thursday, as the team prepares for Week 5 against the 49ers. The head injury he suffered in Week 4 is no longer being considered an issue, and he should not be limited by the injury in practice.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler, who suffered a head injury in the fourth quarter Week 4, was able to practice Wednesday. Buffalo is at San Francisco in Week 5.
Analysis: Chandler has been a popular addition off Fantasy waivers after his two-touchdown performance Week 4. He has four touchdowns through four games. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick loves targeting Chandler in the red zone, but if he doesn't end up scoring, then Chandler usually has weak Fantasy numbers. That's why he is not a must-start Fantasy option yet. Consider Chandler more of a low-end starter Week 5.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler caught four passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 52-28 loss to the Patriots. He was targeted eight times by QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, but left the game in the fourth quarter with a head injury after a Brandon Spikes cheap shot on an interception. Chandler didn't suffer a concussion, but did not return to the game.
Analysis: Chandler now has four touchdowns over four games, and it's safe to say he's become one of Fitzpatrick's favorite targets. Both of Chandler's TDs came in the second quarter, on consecutive series, and the first, a 24-yard catch, was an impressive grab that he essentially grabbed over and held on to in spite of Patrick Chung. Chandler also showed that he isn't just a last-resort red zone target for Fitzpatrick, as both of his TDs were 20 yards or more. Owned in just 38 percent of leagues, Chandler has now emerged as a start-able tight end in most formats, and will likely see his ownership numbers rise this week.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler has emerged as a surprising touchdown threat this season, with two scores over his first three games. The 27 year-old ranks 10th in Fantasy points among tight ends, despite ranking 24th in targets, with 15.
Analysis: Owned in 36 percent of leagues, Chandler is emerging in a season that has been marked by stellar tight end play across the league. He took a minor step back in Week 3 against the Browns, gaining just 22 yards and not scoring a touchdown after registering a combined 91 yards on six receptions and scoring twice over his first two games. He has value as a TD-scoring tight end and has become a legitimate target for Ryan Fitzpatrick in the absence of No. 2 receiver David Nelson. The only worry Chandler owners should have is if Fitzpatrick begins to look at Donald Jones or T.J. Graham with more frequency. For Week 4 against New England (a team that is middle-of-the-pack in terms of Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends), Chandler is a low-end start in deeper leagues.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler was held out of the end zone for the first time this season Week 3 against the Browns. Chandler was held to two catches for 22 yards on four targets. His longest catch went 12 yards.
Analysis: Chandler's Fantasy value basically comes down to whether or not he can score a touchdown. He isn't a big-play tight end like Rob Gronkowski or Jimmy Graham. However, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick does like to throw his way in the red zone. It's just that if Chandler doesn't score a touchdown, then he hardly makes a difference in Fantasy. He remains just a low-end option in deeper formats heading into Week 4 against the Patriots.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler has opened the 2012 season with a touchdown in each of his first two games. He will look to make it three straight Week 3 against the Browns. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick feels Chandler is a key red-zone target for Buffalo. "You saw it last year, especially the beginning of the year the way he was able to catch some of those touchdowns early on," Fitzpatrick said, per the team's official website. "He is a guy that has really emerged, really since last season he has improved so much. I think how comfortable I am with him running his routes, the communication we have and really he is just a huge target. That makes a big difference down there in the red zone. He has done a great job for us, not only in the red zone, but in the field in terms of being a real viable threat in the passing game."
Analysis: Fitzpatrick is absolutely right about Chandler getting off to a fast start last season. He totaled four touchdowns in his first three games. However, Chandler then faded as the season progressed. He totaled just two touchdowns in his last 11 games, which is why we remain hesitant about his outlook for the rest of the season. However, the Bills do need him to be a bigger presence with slot receiver David Nelson out for the season. The Browns are yielding 8.0 Fantasy points per week to tight ends and have allowed one touchdown to a tight end through two games. Chandler is more of a Fantasy option for the deepest of formats heading into Week 3.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler recorded his third touchdown in his last two games against the Chiefs Week 2. Chandler, who recorded two touchdowns against K.C. last season, found the end zone Sunday on a 10-yard catch in the second quarter. It was also the second straight game he scored in to open the 2012 season. Chandler finished with two catches for 53 yards. He was targeted five times.
Analysis: Where have we seen this before from Chandler? Oh yeah, it was last season, when he began the year with four touchdowns in his first three games to only manage two touchdowns in his final 11 games. While we applaud Chandler for his strong effort to begin 2012, we still aren't completely sold it will last after watching Chandler struggle following a good start last season. He still remains a low-end Fantasy option heading into Week 3 at Cleveland.
News: The last time Bills tight end Scott Chandler played his Week 2 opponent, the Chiefs, he had a then career game. Chandler kicked off the 2011 season with a career-high two touchdowns, which was a feat he matched later in the season against Washington. Chandler will be looking to find pay dirt again this time around. Falcons tight ends managed to total six catches for 59 yards and one touchdown against Kansas City in Week 1. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns Week 1.
Analysis: Chandler had a touchdown Week 1 against the Jets and continues to be a nice checkdown option for quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. However, the Bills could ask Chandler to perhaps play a bigger role moving forward after losing wide receiver David Nelson (knee) for the season. Only time will tell if Chandler becomes a consistent option on offense. Consider him more of a low-end Fantasy option for Week 2.
News: Buffalo tight end Scott Chandler had four receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown during the Bills' 48-28 loss to the Jets in Week 1. Chandler accounted for the first receiving touchdown of the game when he hauled in a 5-yard pass from quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick with less than five minutes remaining in the third quarter. He finished with six total targets from Fitzpatrick, who threw a touchdown to three different receivers.
Analysis: Chandler is making a habit of reaching the end zone during the opening game of the season. The 6-foot-7 brute also posted two scores last season at Kansas City, the first of three straight games he hauled in a touchdown pass. Fantasy owners can hope that trend continues this year as he could be leaned on heavily in the Bills' thin receiving unit, especially near the end zone. Until he establishes himself as a consistent presence on a weekly basis, Fantasy owners should consider him a low-end option in most formats heading into Week 2 against Kansas City.
News: Through the first seven games of the 2011 season, Buffalo tight end Scott Chandler had the same number of touchdown catches as New England's Rob Gronkowski with six. And then the bottom fell out. Chandler failed to reach the end zone after Week 8 while Gronkowski soared with the Patriots and finished as the touchdown leader among all tight ends (17). Chandler, who still tied the Bills' franchise record for most touchdown catches by a tight end, will earn his first opportunity to overcome his second-half swoon from last year during Week 1 against the Jets.
Analysis: Obviously, Chandler is not Gronkowski and will not match his production. But the 27-year-old Chandler is one of Ryan Fitzpatrick's favorite targets and he hauled in 38 of his 46 passes from the Bills quarterback, including 25 receptions that went for first downs. But Chandler doesn't pile up many yards and was held to 50 yards or less in all but two of his 14 games last season. Still, he posted a season-high six catches in his second outing against New York last season as he helps Fitzpatrick over the middle when the Jets secondary has the outside locked down. New York is stingy in allowing touchdowns to tight ends (four in 2011) and Chandler makes for a low-end Fantasy option in Week 1.
News: Bills tight end Scott Chandler posted on Twitter Thursday that he has re-signed with the team. He signed a two-year deal, according to his agent. Chandler had some good opportunities in 2011, breaking out for 389 yards and six touchdowns including four in his first three games.
Analysis: Chandler fits the mold of a big tight end that defenses have a hard time matching up with. That was the case early on in 2011 but defenses began keying in on him in the red zone and he wasn't as productive. If we hear some positive reports about how he's improving in the Bills offense and we see him get good playing time with the first-team offense in the preseason, we could see him being useful as a late-round sleeper.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler suffered a knee injury in the first half Week 17 at New England and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest. He had three catches for 29 yards before leaving. "I dont know," coach Chan Gailey said when asked about the severity of Chandler's injury after the game. "It is bad enough to keep him out of this game. And I dont know if its an operation or not."
Analysis: Chandler returned to the lineup last week after missing the previous two games with an ankle injury. His three catches Sunday were his first since Week 13 against the Titans. Chandler emerged as a top red zone option for QB Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2011, but after recording four touchdown receptions in his first three games, he had only two over his final 11. He'll matter in Fantasy in 2012, but his lack of production between the 20s will likely cause him to go undrafted.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler was able to play in Week 16 against Denver despite being limited in practice on Friday with an ankle injury. But he finished with no catches on two targets.
Analysis: Chandler has done a nice job this season, but this ankle injury has ruined the end of his year. He is not worth using in the majority of leagues in Week 17 at New England.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler is active for the Week 16 game against Denver despite being limited in practice on Friday with an ankle injury. Chandler was considered probable to play in the game and was not a disappointment as he was ruled active for the contest. Chandler, who has missed the Bills' past two games with the injury, has tallied 35 receptions for 360 yards this season, but has also registered a career-high six touchdowns in 12 games.
Analysis: Chandler needs one more touchdown reception to surpass Pete Metzelaars (1992) and Jay Riemersma (1998) for most touchdown catches by a tight end during a single season in franchise history. He has been heavily targeted near the end zone this year, but has not crossed the goal line in his past five games played as the Bills offense has sputtered. The Broncos are yielding an average of 6.5 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season, but have surrendered six touchdowns. Consider Chandler a marginal Fantasy option in Week 16.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler was limited in practice Friday, but is considered probable for Week 16 against Denver after dealing with an ankle injury. Chandler, who has missed the Bills' past two games with the injury, has a chance of playing on Saturday, coach Chan Gailey said. The second-year Chandler has tallied 35 receptions for 360 yards this season, but has also registered a career-high six touchdowns in 12 games.

News: Bills TE Scott Chandler (ankle) made it back onto the practice field Thursday as the team prepares for Week 16 against the Broncos. Chandler is looking to return from a two-game absence. Chandler was limited but has a "decent chance" of playing Saturday, coach Chan Gailey said. The ankle injury is clearly still affecting Chandler's cuts on the field, but he expects to tough it out. "I'm dying to get out there... its feeling better every day," Chandler said. "I think Ill be out there and be fine."
Analysis: The fact Chandler keeps practicing without setback is encouraging. However, since he is still having trouble with his cuts that means he could be limited on Saturday. Even if Chandler is back, consider him at best an injury-risk No. 2 Fantasy TE.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler (ankle) was a limited participant in the open portion of practice on Wednesday, but struggled with making cuts on his injured ankle. Still, Bills coach Chan Gailey is hopeful Chandler will play Week 16 against the Broncos. "I think we've got a decent chance," Gailey said. "I'm not ready to give my full endorsement but I think we've got a decent chance."
Analysis: The Bills could use Chandler in Week 16 seeing how Buffalo lost Lee Smith to an ankle injury in Week 15. Even if Chandler is back, consider him at best a No. 2 Fantasy TE.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler (ankle) returned to practice on Tuesday, but was extremely limited. The Bills have sorely missed Chandler's presence on the field as both a receiver and a blocker in recent weeks. His status for Week 16 against Denver is unclear for now.
Analysis: Prior to Tuesday, Chandler had not been able to practice since suffering a sprained ankle in Week 13 against Tennessee. He has been inactive for the past two games and he might not be able to return at full strength the rest of the season. Consider him a low-end No. 2 Fantasy TE against the Broncos if he is able to play.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler (ankle) was inactive for Week 15 against Miami. Chandler could not return to practice on Friday and was therefore ruled out for the game by coach Chan Gailey. Chandler missed his second consecutive game. Lee Smith and Mike Caussin benefit from Chandler's absence.
Analysis: This is not surprising news since Gailey said earlier in the week Chandler was expected to miss another game. Chandler wasn't going to be much more than a No. 2 Fantasy TE, so continue to keep him reserved.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler (ankle) did not return to practice Friday and was then ruled out for Week 15 vs. Miami by coach Chan Gailey. It will be the second straight game Chandler will miss.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler (ankle) did not return to practice Thursday as the team prepares for Week 15 against the Dolphins. Chandler was limited to riding a stationary bike.
Analysis: Bills coach Chan Gailey said Wednesday that he wasn't optimistic about Chandler suiting up Sunday, so it appears he will miss another game. Even if Chandler is somehow active, he would be an injury-risk No. 2 Fantasy TE. Look to healthier alternatives.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler was unable to participate in practice on Wednesday as his team prepared for Week 15 against the Dolphins. He injured his ankle in Week 13 and has not practiced since. "I don't have much hope for Scott making it," coach Chan Gailey said of Chandler's chances for Sunday. Should Chandler recover in time to play in Week 15, he will face a Dolphins defense that ranks 13th in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends in standard formats.
Analysis: Chandler is having the finest campaign of his career for the Bills and has made some noise in Fantasy with 35 catches and six touchdowns. He will have to get some practice in if he is going to play on Sunday so keep an eye on his status going forward. When he's healthy, Chandler is more of a No. 2 TE option in most Fantasy leagues.
News: As expected Buffalo TE Scott Chandler was inactive for Week 14. He hurt his ankle last weekend and did not practice all week.
Analysis: Chandler has had a good season for the Bills, but the team's inconsistent play has led to up-and-down production from the tight end. He has six touchdowns on the year for the Bills, but four came in the first three contests of the year. When he's healthy, Chandler is more of a No. 2 TE option in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler, who hurt his ankle Week 13 against the Titans, missed practice for a third straight day Friday and was then ruled out Week 14 against the Chargers. Another indication that Chandler wasn't going to play is that the Bills added TE Fendi Onobum to the roster on Friday. Lee Smith and Mike Caussin will benefit with extra playing time in Chandler's absence.
Analysis: It's been an up-and-down week for Chandler. At first, it looked grim he would play. Then by mid-week, the Bills were a lot more optimistic. Then again on Thursday, Chandler was downgraded to doubtful. It appears he needs rest, so make sure to keep Chandler out of active lineups for Week 14. He projected as nothing more than a No. 2 Fantasy TE.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler missed practice for a second straight day Thursday because of an ankle injury, putting his status for Week 14 against the Chargers in doubt.
Analysis: It's been an interesting week for Chandler, who hurt his ankle Week 13. On Monday, Gailey wasn't overly optimistic about Chandler playing Sunday. On Wednesday, Gailey was more optimistic and even thought Chandler would practice Thursday. That didn't happen, so unless Chandler practices Friday, then it's likely he sits. The Chargers are yielding 6.8 Fantasy points per week to TEs, which is tied for 11th-lowest in the NFL, so Chandler is at best a No. 2 Fantasy TE if he plays.
News: Bills coach Chan Gailey held TE Scott Chandler, who injured his ankle Week 13, out of practice Wednesday. However, Gailey said Chandler might be able to practice Thursday and he is a lot more optimistic about Chandler's chances of playing Week 14 at San Diego than he was earlier in the week. The Bolts have been allowing opposing tight ends to score an average of 6.83 Fantasy points per contest this season.
Analysis: Chandler wants to get back on the field Week 14 after he lost a costly fumble Week 13 against the Titans. He wants to erase that bad memory. Chandler has been one of Ryan Fitzpatrick's favorite targets all season, especially in the red zone. But Chandler is still nothing more than a No. 2 Fantasy TE if he plays Week 14.
News: Bills coach Chan Gailey said Monday that TE Scott Chandler, who sprained his ankle Week 13 vs. Tennessee, has a chance to play Week 14 at San Diego. Although, coach Chan Gailey doesn't sound overly optimistic. Itd be hard to get him back this week, but theres an outside chance we get him back," Gailey said.
Analysis: Chandler has a rough game Week 13. Not only did he get hurt, but he also lost a fumble in the loss. Chandler's third reception of the game, however, gave him 35 catches on the season -- the most by a Bills TE since Jay Riemersma in 2001. Chandler has stepped up his game lately ever since Buffalo became more of a passing team with the loss of RB Fred Jackson. But Chandler remains at best a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 14, if he is active.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler was unable to finish the game Week 13 vs. Tennessee because of an apparent ankle injury. Chandler needed X-rays after the game. He then said he believes he has just a sprained ankle, but his injury will be monitored this week. Chandler had three catches for 48 yards, but he lost a fumble on his longest gain of the afternoon -- a 22-yard catch in the third quarter. It is believed Chandler was injured on that play. Chandler was targeted four times.
Analysis: Chandler's third reception of the game gave him 35 catches on the season -- the most by a Bills TE since Jay Riemersma in 2001. Unfortunately, he didn't have much time to celebrate because he first lost a fumble and then hurt his ankle. Chandler has stepped up his game lately ever since Buffalo became more of a passing team with the loss of RB Fred Jackson. But Chandler remains at best a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 14 at San Diego.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler needs just one touchdown reception to set a new team record for touchdown receptions by a tight end in one season. He has been stuck on six touchdowns after getting shut out of the end zone in four November games. Lucky for him, though, his Week 13 opponent -- Tennessee -- has given up six touchdowns to TEs in its last eight games. TEs average 9.1 Fantasy points per week against the Titans, which is fourth-highest in the NFL.
Analysis: Although he doesn't have a touchdown in his last four games, Chandler has been at his most consistent the last two weeks. He has compiled five or more catches the last two games, which is the first time he has done that all season. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is started to lean heavily on him outside the red zone. You might consider Chandler a sleeper Fantasy start Week 13, but it's safer to view him as a No. 2 TE.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler garnered a season-best six receptions for 50 yards during the Bills 28-24 loss to the Jets in Week 12. Chandler, who was targeted seven times by QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, finished with an average of 8.3 yards per catch. In two games against New York this season, he totaled 74 yards on nine catches and failed to reach the end zone. Overall, his scoreless streak extended to four games -- a season long.
Analysis: Chandler was able to build off his solid performance last Sunday when he amassed 71 yards on five catches at Miami. But with his inconsistent outings recently, he has become an unreliable Fantasy option with the touchdowns drying up. Sure, Chandler is targeted often in the end zone but with Fitzpatrick struggling to complete passes, his effectiveness is minimal. Consider him a low-end TE option for Week 13 against Tennessee.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler finished with a career-best 71 receiving yards on five receptions during the Bills' loss to Miami last Sunday. He will face a daunting task during Week 12 in the hopes of duplicating that performance against an improved Jets defense. New York is permitting just 200 passing yards to opponents per game this season and has allowed just three touchdowns to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: In his past four games, Chandler has topped at least 30 yards in three outings. The one game he didn't hit that mark came against the Jets. The 26-year-old finished with 24 yards on three catches versus New York in Week 9. He has failed to reach the end zone over his past three games. The Jets are surrendering an average of 7.8 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Consider Chandler a low-end option in deeper formats for Week 12.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler recorded five catches for a career-high 71 yards during the Bills 35-8 loss at Miami in Week 11. Chandler registered more than 50 yards for the first time in his past nine games as he posted an average of 14.2 yards per reception. He was targeted six times by QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Analysis: Chandler saw a surge in production as several Buffalo receivers were shaken up Sunday. He continues to be hampered by inconsistency and has just two touchdowns -- both in one outing -- over his past seven games. Though Chandler remains a target near the end zone, he could not connect with Fitzpatrick as the Bills were held without a touchdown. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 12 against the Jets.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler could see more targets in Week 11 when Buffalo faces Miami, if the team is without Steve Johnson who missed practice on Wednesday. Chandler hasn't scored in his last two games, but will look to get back on track versus the Dolphins. Miami has given up 14 passing touchdowns this season and are allowing opposing team's tight ends to average 8.67 Fantasy points per contest.
Analysis: Chandler sees more of his looks when the Bills are in the red zone, which increases his chances of scoring. Unfortunately he hasn't even come close to breaking 50 yards since his 63-yard performance in Week 1. Fantasy owners should consider Chandler a high-end No. 2 TE option for Week 11.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler was limited to 34 yards on three catches in Week 10 at Dallas. His longest catch went 18 yards. Chandler hasn't scored in his last two games since his two-touchdown outing Week 8 against the Redskins.
Analysis: Chandler hasn't even come close to breaking 50 yards since his 63-yard performance in Week 1. He is more of a red-zone target for QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, so if Chandler doesn't score, then he usually posts mediocre numbers. He remains at best a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 11 at Miami.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler heads into Week 10 at Dallas tied with Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski for the TE lead in the NFL with six touchdowns. That is more touchdowns than the Cowboys have allowed to TEs in 2011, which is four. However, Dallas is allowing TEs to average 9.8 Fantasy points per week, which is tied for third-highest in the NFL.
Analysis: Chandler did most of his damage early in the season with four touchdowns in three October games. He has scored twice in his last five games and both of them came in Week 8 against the Redskins. If Chandler doesn't score, then he has a bad Fantasy day. Despite the favorable matchup, he remains at best a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 10.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler notched three catches for 24 yards during the Bills 27-11 loss to the Jets in Week 9. Chandler was coming off a two-touchdown performance in his last game, but struggled mightily as QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed just 48.4 percent of his passes. He also collected just three targets from Fitzpatrick.
Analysis: Chandler continues to be a boom-or-bust player for Buffalo and Sundays game certainly was the latter. Of his 18 receptions this season, six have gone for touchdowns as his sporadic showings are certainly frustrating for Fantasy owners. Its tough to get an accurate gauge on Chandler and he has finished with fewer than four catches in seven straight games. Consider him merely a bye-week replacement in Week 10 at Dallas.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler is currently holding a mark few -- if any -- Fantasy owners would have expected of him at the beginning of the season. Chandler is leading all NFL tight ends with six touchdown catches this season and sits one score better than New England's Rob Gronkowski and New Orleans' Jimmy Graham (five). Chandler, who had two touchdowns last week against Washington, and the Bills host the Jets in Week 9.
Analysis: Chandler seems the unlikeliest player to be leading the league's tight ends in scoring after entering the 2011 season with just one career reception. He snapped a three-game scoreless streak in Week 8 as he posted multiple touchdowns for the second time this season and first since the season opener. New York is permitting an average of 6.8 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Consider Chandler a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 9.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler had a big game in Week 8 against the Redskins in Toronto on Sunday. Chandler scored for the first time since Week 3 as he recorded two touchdown receptions against the Redskins in the victory. Chandler hauled in a touchdown pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick in the first quarter from 20 yards out to get the scoring started in the game. Chandler later caught a 15-yard TD pass from Fitzpatrick in the third quarter. Chandler finished with just the two catches for 35 yards and was targeted just twice in the game.
Analysis: Chandler finally scored in Week 8 for the first time since Week 3 against New England. After going for four touchdown receptions in the first three weeks of the season, Chandler did not get into the end zone in three straight games. Chandler scored twice on Sunday, however, and Fitzpatrick may have renewed his love affair with his tight end entering Week 9 against the Jets. New York has been pretty solid at limiting the Fantasy production of tight ends this season, however. We're not sure if Chandler's big game was just a rarity or the start of another hot streak. Start him as a last-resort Fantasy option. We think Chandler is mostly a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 9.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler heads into Week 8 against Washington on a bad streak. He hasn't caught a touchdown pass for three straight games and his only catch in Buffalo's last contest went for negative yards. The Redskins are allowing 6 Fantasy points per game to opposing team's tight ends this year.
Analysis: Chandler started the season with four scores in three games. But now he's falling out of favor in the Bills offense. If he doesn't get into the end zone, he typically leaves you with little or nothing. Fantasy owners can ignore Chandler at this time as he's not a recommend Fantasy TE option.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler caught just one pass in Week 6 at the Giants. The play went for a loss of 3 yards. It was his only target of the game. Chandler went without a touchdown catch for a third straight game.
Analysis: After beginning the season with four touchdowns in three games, he developed some Fantasy appeal as a red-zone target. However, he remains a very risky play in Fantasy as he has caught no more than two passes in five of his six games this season. If he doesn't get into the end zone, he typically leaves you with little or nothing. The Bills will be on a bye in Week 7 before returning to action in Week 8 against Washington.
News: Coming off four straight games with no more than two catches, Bills TE Scott Chandler will face a Giants defense in Week 6 that has allowed less than 50 yards receiving to opposing tight ends in three of their last four games. They have to allow a touchdown to a tight end this season.
Analysis: Chandler leads all NFL TEs this season in red zone targets with nine. He scored a touchdown in each of the first three weeks of the season and should continue to be looked for by QB Ryan Fitzpatrick if the Bills get into scoring range. Starting Chandler in Fantasy continues to be a crap shoot. If he doesn't find the end zone, he'll likely leave you with very little. Consider him a No. 2 TE option in Fantasy as a result.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler caught the only pass he was targeted for: A 4-yard throw on an out route nowhere near the end zone. Chandler played his fair share but didn't get much attention beyond the one throw, including at the goal line.
Analysis: Remember when Chandler scored in three consecutive weeks and Fantasy owners were buying into him as a reliable option? Yeah, we remember too. Chandler is a nice big body with seemingly good hands but not a key part of the Bills' passing game. He does block his fair share. Fantasy owners should be on the move to drop him for another player, especially given his matchup at the Giants in Week 6.
News:Scott Chandler's Fantasy owners were bumming after he failed to keep his touchdown streak alive in Week 4 at Cincinnati. The breakout tight end didn't even get targeted in the red zone. This week, however, he takes on an Eagles pass defense that has been beaten by the pass plenty over the last three weeks and that includes tight ends. Tony Gonzalez scored twice on Philadelphia and Vernon Davis found the end zone last week against the Eagles. Chandler's playing time and targets have dwindled since Week 1 and he has caught exactly two passes in each of his last three overall.
Analysis: Chandler is good enough to start against the Eagles but not count on for huge numbers. The matchup certainly suggests that he'll have a chance to score, but with David Nelson picking up playing time in the slot, Chandler hasn't seen the field as much. Figure him to rebound from his lousy Week 4 stats but not be a great Fantasy tight end -- use him if your other options are slim.
News: Buffalo TE Scott Chandler had only two receptions for eight yards during the Bills' 23-20 loss at Cincinnati in Week 4 on Sunday. Chandler caught both of his looks from QB Ryan Fitzpatrick as he hauled in two catches for the third consecutive game. His average of 4.0 yards per reception represented his lowest mark of the season.
Analysis: Chandler also had his impressive streak of consecutive outings with a touchdown stopped at three games. The hulking 6-foot-7 tight end has become a tall target for Fitzpatrick in the red zone this season and his four touchdowns ranks third in the NFL. However, with his highest value in the passing game coming only deep in opponents' territory, he becomes a risky overall Fantasy option. Consider him a low-end No. 2 Fantasy TE in Week 5 against Philadelphia.
News: With his 3-yard touchdown reception in Week 3, Buffalo TE Scott Chandler has seemingly emerged as the primary option in the red zone for Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. All of his scores this season have come within the 20-yard line as he ranks second in the NFL among tight ends with four touchdowns (New England's Rob Gronkowski has five). Chandler is hoping to push his TD streak to four games in Week 4 at Cincinnati.
Analysis: Chandler has been one of several unexpected standouts during the Bills' impressive 3-0 start this season. Still, the former Iowa standout isn't producing much this season other than his touchdowns as he's hauled in just two receptions in each of his last two games. He posted 63 receiving yards in Week 1 against Kansas City, but his totals from the past two games are closer to his expected total (13.0 YPG). Consider him a high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE against the Bengals, who have allowed 11.2 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler scored for the third straight game to open the 2011 season in Week 3 against the Patriots. Chandler, who now has four touchdowns, scored from 3 yards out in the third quarter. He finished with two catches for 10 yards. He was targeted three times.
Analysis: Again, we need to point out that Chandler came into 2011 with no career touchdowns and one career catch in four seasons. But he has emerged as the Bills starting TE and is becoming a very good red-zone target for QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. In fact, he was left wide open for the score Week 3. Chandler has just four catches for 26 yards in his last two games, so without the scores he wouldn't have had good Fantasy weeks. We doubt he will continue his touchdown-per-game pace, but you could be doing a lot worse. Chanlder is a viable low-end Fantasy start in deep leagues heading into Week 4 against the Bengals.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler heads into Week 3 against the Patriots eyeing a third straight game with a touchdown. The Patriots, however, haven't allowed a tight end to score in 2011. TEs have totaled six catches for 88 yards against New England this season.
Analysis: Chandler is surprisingly tied for the AFC lead in touchdown receptions with three. He is tied with Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski and Titans WR Kenny Britt. Chandler came into the year not even a blip on the radar. He now heads into Week 3 with 45 percent ownership and a legit Fantasy option. But he is more of a No. 2 Fantasy TE going against the Patriots.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler scored for a second consecutive game to begin the season in Week 2 against the Raiders. He caught two passes for 16 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Chandler caught two touchdowns in the opener.
Analysis: Chandler was not able to make as big an impact as he did in Week 1, but he once again proved to be a sought after target in the red zone. As long as that continues, he'll have some marginal appeal in deeper leagues -- especially once the bye weeks come around. However, he is not targeted regularly enough in the offense to consider anything more than a No. 2 TE option for now. The Bills host New England in Week 2.
News: TE Scott Chandler has been a revelation so far this year, catching two TDs in Buffalo's season opener against the Chiefs. The Bills have lacked a consistent presence at tight end for much of the last decade. "Scott's a big target," QB Ryan Fitzpatrick said. "He's a guy that even when you have good coverage on him it's hard to get the ball out from him."
Analysis: Chandler came into Week 1 with one career catch and no touchdowns, so to say his two-touchdown performance was a breakout game is an understatement. However, hearing Fitzpatrick talk that way about Chandler is encouraging. But now that teams know he is going to be part of the team's game plan, then it could be tough for him to repeat his Week 1 performance. Consider Chandler more of a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 2 when the Bills hosts the Raiders. Oakland held Broncos TEs to three catches for 32 yards in Week 1.
News: Bills TE Scott Chandler entered Week 1 against the Chiefs with no career touchdowns. Before the third quarter ended he upped his career touchdown count to two. Chandler opened the scoring with a 4-yard touchdown grab in the first quarter and added his second score on a 11-yard pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick in the third quarter. He finished with five catches for 63 yards, with his longest grab going for 19 yards.
Analysis: Chandler has bounced around in his NFL career and came into Week 1 with just one catch for 8 yards since entering the league in 2007. Now, he appears he could be a real player on offense for the Bills. Chandler is going to be a popular add off Fantasy waivers this week. The Bills will play the Raiders in Week 2.
News: The Bills have tendered contracts to three potential free agents, including DB Donte Whitner and LB Paul Posluszny. The moves temporarily secure the players' rights, though it's unclear what their status will be under a new collective bargaining agreement after the current one expires on Thursday night. TE Scott Chandler was also tendered a contract by the Bills on Tuesday. Whitner completed a five-year contract last season, and questioned whether he'd return to Buffalo after negotiations broke down in December. Posluszny completed a four-year deal and has said he's open to re-signing with the Bills. Chandler joined the Bills in December after being claimed on waivers from Dallas.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Chandler in 2011, but he has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him in all leagues on Draft Day.
News: The Bills have claimed tight end Scott Chandler after he was waived by the Dallas Cowboys to take LB Reggie Torbor's -- who was placed on IR --roster spot.
Analysis: Continue to ignore Chandler in Fantasy play, as the move is likely just to add depth.
News: The Cowboys released TE Scott Chandler on Wednesday.
Analysis: Chandler was promoted from the Dallas practice squad in late September and played in nine games before this move as a backup to Jason Witten and Martellus Bennet. Continue to ignore Chandler in Fantasy play.
News: If FB Chris Gronkowski (groin) doesn't play Week 5 against the Titans, TE Scott Chandler could have a bigger role in the offense. Chandler was called up from the practice squad last week and has played just one career NFL game.
Analysis: If Chandler fills in for Gronkowski, it will be as a blocking fullback. He might get a catch or two out of the backfield, but his touches will be so limited that he probably won't even factor in Fantasy. Chandler is far more important to the Cowboys than Fantasy owners.
News: The Cowboys promoted TE Scott Chandler from their practice squad Friday.
Analysis: Chandler, who played his college ball at Iowa, does not figure to find the field except on special teams. He continues to have no Fantasy value.
News: The Cowboys signed tight end Scott Chandler to the practice squad on Sunday. Chandler, who was on the Cowboys' practice squad last season, was waived on Saturday by the New York Giants.

News: The Giants listed the following players as inactive for Week 17 at Minnesota: DB Corey Webster, DB Sha-reff Rashad, WR Mario Manningham, TE Scott Chandler and DL Chris Canty.
Analysis: Outside of Manningham and Webster in deeper IDP formats, none of the players listed is expected to have much Fantasy appeal for the upcoming season. They can be left off the waiver wire in all leagues.
News: The Giants listed the following players as inactive for Week 16 against the Panthers: WR Ramses Barden, RB Danny Ware, DB Aaron Ross, WR Sinorice Moss and TE Scott Chandler.
Analysis: None of the players listed here have any real Fantasy appeal. Leave them inactive in all leagues.
News: Backup tight end Darcy Johnson has been placed on injured reserve by the New York Giants with a shoulder injury. The Giants announced the move on Wednesday and also signed tight end Scott Chandler off the Dallas Cowboys' practice roster. Johnson hurt his right shoulder early in the season against Kansas City and aggravated it on Thanksgiving against Denver. He was inactive for Monday night's game against Washington. He finished the season with five receptions for 32 yards.
Analysis: Both Johnson and Chandler have no Fantasy value at this time. Leave them on waivers in all leagues.
News: The Cowboys have signed three free agents - tight end Scott Chandler, receiver Mike Jefferson and defensive end Derreck Robinson. Chandler was a fourth-round pick by San Diego in 2007 and was inactive for all but one game that year before spending the 2008 season on injured reserve. Jefferson was on the Cowboys' practice squad last year before his October release. Robinson spent two seasons with the Chargers and one with Miami but hasn't played since 2007.
Analysis: None of these players are expected to contribute to the offense this year. Keep all of the above off of Fantasy rosters.
News: The San Diego Chargers placed TE Scott Chandler on injured reserve with a toe injury on Saturday.
Analysis: Chandler was never supposed to be much of an option in the Chargers offense, especially with a guy named Antonio Gates around. He's out for the season now and should be avoided in all of Fantasy.
News: Chargers TE Legedu Naanee, WR Kassim Osgood and TE Scott Chandler were active and dressed but did not record a stat in Week 15 vs. Detroit.
Analysis: None of these players post enough stats on a regular basis to warrant use in Fantasy play. Keep them off rosters. The Chargers host the Broncos in Week 16.
News: The Chargers inactives for Week 11 at Jacksonville include QB Charlie Whitehurst (3rd QB), DB Paul Oliver, DB Eric Weddle, LB Anthony Waters, WR Malcolm Floyd, TE Scott Chandler and DL Luis Castillo.
Analysis: Keep all of these players reserved for Week 11 and continue to monitor their status for Week 12 against Baltimore.
News: The Chargers' list of inactives for Week 10 against the Colts includes QB Charlie Whitehurst, DB Paul Oliver, LB Anthony Waters, WR Malcom Floyd and TE Scott Chandler.
Analysis: These players don't contribute enough statistically to have value in Fantasy. The Chargers visit the Jaguars in Week 11.
News: The Chargers' list of inactives for Week 8 against the Jets includes QB Charlie Whitehurst, DB Paul Oliver, LB Anthony Waters, DL Jamal Williams, WR Malcom Floyd, WR Craig Davis and TE Scott Chandler.
Analysis: None of these players accrue enough statistics to deserve consideration in Fantasy even when active. The Chargers visit the Vikings in Week 9.
News: The Chargers listed Charlie Whitehurst (third QB), TE Scott Chandler (coach's decision), WR Legedu Naanee (coach's decision), WR Eric Parker (toe) RB Andrew Pinnock (knee) and LB Anthony Waters as inactive for Week 6 vs. Oakland.
Analysis: None of these players should in be in your active Fantasy lineup in Week 6. Keep it that way until further notice.
News: Notable inactives for the Chargers-Broncos Week 5 game include: Chargers QB Charlie Whitehurst (No. 3/emergency QB), CB Paul Oliver, FB Andrew Pinnock, FB/WR Legedu Naanee, LB Anthony Waters, TE Jeff Chandler and WR Eric Parker. For the Broncos, DB Hamza Abdullah, RB Mike Bell, DB Steve Cargile, TE Stephen Alexander, WR Javon Walker, DT Antwan Burton and DE Simeon Rice are inactive.
Analysis: Aside from Walker, who is nursing a knee injury, and Bell, who is a backup in Denver's RB corps, none of these inactive Chargers or Broncos are worth owning in Fantasy play.
News: Chargers WR Eric Parker (toe), QB Charlie Whitehurst (3rd QB), RB Paul Oliver, RB Andrew Pinnock, LB Anthony Waters, LB Matt Wilhelm and TE Scott Chandler are all inactive for Week 4 vs. Kansas City.
Analysis: Parker is hoping to return in early October from a toe injury, but he likely won't be back until later in the month. Continue to track his progress. He could be a decent waiver wire pick-up when he returns. He is pretty much the only inactive San Diego player worth using in Fantasy leagues when active. Make sure to keep these players reserved for Week 4.
News: The Chargers inactives for Week 3 include QB Charlie Whitehurst, DB Paul Oliver, TE Legedu Naanee, LB Anthony Waters, LB Matt Wilhelm, TE Scott Chandler and WR Eric Parker.
Analysis: Keep all these players reserved against the Packers.
News: The San Diego Chargers have announced their inactives for Week 2 at New England. TE Scott Chandler, DT Brandon McKinney, CB Paul Oliver, WR Eric Parker (toe), FB Andrew Pinnock (hamstring) and LB Anthony Waters are all inactive. QB Charlie Whitehurst will also serve as the No. 3 emergency quarterback.
Analysis: The rookie out of Iowa is not a recommended Fantasy option at this point. The Chargers play the Packers in Green Bay in Week 3.

For the Bears, QB Kyle Orton (No. 3/emergency QB), CB Corey Graham, FB Lousaka Polite, DB Kevin Payne, OL Josh Beekman, TE Greg Olsen, WR Mike Hass and DT Anthony Adams are inactive.

News: The Chargers and fourth-round pick TE Scott Chandler agreed to a four-year deal. Chandler is expected to battle for the No. 2 TE job behind Antonio Gates.
Analysis: Chandler should develop into a fair end-zone option for the Bolts thanks to his huge size (6-foot-7). He should only be considered with a late-round pick in rookie-only drafts.
News: Aside from first-round pick WR Craig Davis, the Chargers' 2007 draft class includes: Utah SS Eric Weddle, Clemson LB Anthony Waters, Iowa TE Scott Chandler, Boise State WR Legedu Naanee and Florida LB Brandon Siler.
Analysis: Weddle has major potential to be a good defensive back in the NFL but measures at 5-foot-11. If he overcomes it, he'll be a decent pickup in Fantasy play (think late-round pick in seasonal IDP leagues and an early- to middle-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts). Waters is coming off an ACL injury but has potential to be a nice linebacker for the Bolts in time and is worth a late-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts. And like Waters, Siler is a potential-laden ILB who is better against the run than the pass. Chandler should develop into a fair end-zone option for the Bolts thanks to his huge size (6-foot-7). Naanee also has nice size and speed and needs some coaching and time (he'll get both in San Diego). This is one of the better draft classes in 2007.
