| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: Jaguars WR Tiquan Underwood, DB Rashean Mathis, DB Sean Considine, DB Brian Witherspoon, LB Bryan Smith and DL Greg Peterson have all been ruled inactive for Week 8 at Tennessee. | Analysis: Mathis is a pretty important defender for the Jags, but he is currently out battling a finger injury. He is worth starting as a low-end Fantasy DB when healthy. Most of the other players are reserves and have little to no Fantasy appeal. Keep them reserved for Week 8. |

| News: Jaguars LB Justin Durant, WR Tiquan Underwood, DB Scott Starks, DB Sean Considine, LB Adam Seward and DL Greg Peterson have been ruled out of the team's Week 6 game against the Rams. | Analysis: Durant is a solid Fantasy LB in IDP formats while the rest of these players have little to no Fantasy value. |

|
Updated 9/27/2009 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |

Eagles name Week 1 inactives
|
Updated 9/7/2008 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: The Eagles listed their Week 1 inactives and none of the following players were included: Lorenzo Booker (hip), Chris Clemons (calf), Sean Considine (hand) and DB Brian Dawkins (ankle). | Analysis: Booker and Dawkins are the most relevant in Fantasy play. While Booker is more of an insurance policy for starter Brian Westbrook, Dawkins is capable of racking up tackles and pass defense stats, which makes him worth using as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy DB. Start him if you're in a deep league. Booker, on the other hand, probably won't total more than 10 touches and should remain benched. There's no use for Clemons or Considine in Fantasy play at this point. |
Four Eagles likely to play

| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: Eagles RB Lorenzo Booker (hip), DE Chris Clemons (calf), SS Sean Considine (hand) and FS Brian Dawkins (ankle) are all listed as probable for Week 1 vs. St. Louis. All four should see the field. |
Eagles DB Considine placed on IR
|
Updated 11/7/2007 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: Strong safety Sean Considine will miss the rest of the season after hurting his left shoulder in the Eagles' loss to Dallas on Sunday night. Considine, who became a starter before the midpoint of last season, was placed on injured reserve. Coach Andy Reid was unsure of Considine's future. "I think they are going to be able to either repair it or he'll be able to rehab it and be okay," Reid said. "We'll just have to see down the road how things go with this thing." | Analysis: Considine was only owned in three percent of leagues, so the Fantasy impact of this roster move is minimal. Owners of Considine in long-term keeper leagues might be more worried and should look for a different option. |
Considine able to practice
|
Updated 10/26/2007 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: Eagles DB Sean Considine hurt his ankle in practice Thursday but returned to the field Friday and is also questionable for Week 8 against Minnesota. | Analysis: Considine has minimal Fantasy value and is not worth using in IDP leagues even when healthy. |

|
Updated 10/1/2007 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: Sean Considine (knee) was able to play in Week 4 at N.Y. Giants. He recorded four solo tackles in the loss. | Analysis: Considine is only worth a look in the deepest of Fantasy IDP leagues. The Eagles play at N.Y. Jets in Week 6 once they return from a bye. |
Considine makes interception
|
Updated 9/23/2007 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: DB Sean Considine made the only interception for either team in the Eagles' 56-21 Week 3 win over the Lions. | Analysis: With the amount of balls flying through the air on Sunday, it's a shock that only one pick was made. Considine is the starting SS for the Eagles, but he doesn't make enough plays to be a decent IDP candidate. |
Considine leaves Week 2 game
|
Updated 9/18/2007 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: Sean Considine, who has been battling a sore knee, might have aggravated his injury in Week 2 against the Redskins. | Analysis: Despite being a starter for the Eagles, Considine is only considered a low-end DB option in deeper Fantasy IDP leagues. The Eagles host the Lions in Week 3. |
Coach has confidence in Considine
|
Updated 9/7/2007 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: While fans and commentators might be grumbling about him, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson is high on S Sean Considine, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. "I've got a lot of confidence in him," said Johnson. "I think he's an excellent safety. I think he's a guy who can play in the box, and who can play deep half. He's very smart, he's one of our leaders, and I expect a good year out of him. I've always said he has a knack for finding the football, and I think it's going to come to light." | Analysis: When healthy, Considine is a solid low-end No. 2 defensive back option in IDP Fantasy leagues. If you own Considine, keep an eye on him just to make sure he continues to start for the Eagles. |
Concussion keeps Considine out
|
Updated 8/31/2007 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: Eagles DL LaJuan Ramsey (ankle), DL Ian Scott (knee), DB Sean Considine (concussion), WR Bill Sampy (leg) and TE L.J. Smith (hernia) were unable to suit up for Thursday's preseason game against the Jets. | Analysis: When healthy, Considine is a solid low-end No. 2 defensive back option in IDP Fantasy leagues. |
Considine suffers a concussion
|
Updated 8/27/2007 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: Eagles S Sean Considine left Sunday's preseason game at Pittsburgh in the first half with a concussion. He led all players with seven tackles (four solo, three assists) and a pass defensed before departing. | Analysis: When healthy, Considine is a solid low-end No. 2 defensive back option in IDP Fantasy leagues. |
Eagles DST does little
|
Updated 11/19/2006 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: The Eagles DST gave up 31 points against the Titans with three sacks and one fumble recovery. DL Trent Cole had eight tackles and 1.5 sacks. DB Brian Dawkins had six tackles. LB Jeremiah Trotter had eight tackles. DB Michael Lewis had three tackles. DL Darren Howard had three tackles and a sack. DB Lito Sheppard had one tackle. DL Mike Patterson had three tackles and a fumble recovery. And DB Sean Considine had two tackles and a half-sack. | Analysis: Consider the Eagles DST a No. 2 option against the Colts in Week 12. Use all IDP players as needed. |
Michael Lewis a "role player?"
|
Updated 11/17/2006 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: The Express-Times reports that Eagles defensive coordinator is satisfied with the play of FS Sean Considine and has demoted former starter Michael Lewis to a lesser role. "Right now, we're very happy with Sean (Considine as the starting strong safety), and Mike is a role player," Johnson said. "He's playing sometimes in safety in certain personnel groups, he's playing linebacker in certain personnel groups, so he's still a big part of it. But right now, Sean's our starting safety." | Analysis: Lewis should be cut in all leagues, whereas Considine is a nice low-end DB to use in Fantasy play. |
Eagles still confident in pass D
|
Updated 10/21/2006 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: Even though the Philadelphia Eagles have allowed more yards passing than usual, quarterbacks shouldn't salivate at the thought of facing a once-vaunted secondary. The Eagles (4-2) are 27th against the pass, allowing an average of 237.7 yards through the air per game. However, defensive coordinator Jim Johnson is confident a unit that includes five-time Pro Bowl free safety Brian Dawkins, former Pro Bowl cornerback Lito Sheppard and fellow cornerback Sheldon Brown still is a formidable group. | Analysis: Johnson points to injuries - Sheppard missed three games and nickel back Rod Hood has been sidelined the last three - and other factors such as the Eagles had big leads in many of their games and played a bend-but-don't-break defense. While the secondary has played better than the numbers indicate, some of those big plays have been costly. Brown was beaten by Plaxico Burress for a game-winning, 31-yard TD catch in a 30-24 overtime loss to the New York Giants in Week 2. Lewis, a Pro Bowl selection two years ago, bit on a fake and gave up Joe Horn's tying 48-yard TD catch in a 27-24 loss to the Saints last week. Michael Lewis was replaced by second-year pro Sean Considine and both are expected to play against Tampa Bay on Sunday. Consider them a good unit to use in any format for Week 7 at Tampa Bay against a team that has struggled offensively. |
PHI secondary nursing injuries
|
Updated 10/18/2006 |
| Sean Considine, SS JAC | |
| News: Eagles DB Brian Dawkins (wrist), DB Lito Sheppard (hand) and DB Sean Considine (shoulder) are probable for Week 7 at Tampa Bay. | Analysis: The Eagles secondary has been battered all season, and yet, they are still among the best defenses in the league. The Eagles DST didn't have a great performance in Week 6 against the Saints, but facing a rookie Bucs QB Bruce Gradkowski in Week 7 should provide for an easier matchup. Consider using the Eagles DST in Week 7. As for IDP players, Sheppard should be ready to go and he is a legit No. 1 Fantasy DB. Dawkins is a No. 2 or No. 3 Fantasy DB on most occassions. Considine is usually not a viable option, however, there has been talk in Philly that he could take over for the struggling Michael Lewis. Until that is official, Considine should be nowhere near your IDP roster. |
