News: The Bears have released veteran defensive lineman Andre Fluellen.
Analysis: Fluellen will attempt to add depth somewhere else this offseason. He's not going to help you win a Fantasy title.
News: The Bears added depth to their defense with the signings of Kyle Moore and Andre Fluellen on Tuesday.
Analysis: While we once liked Moore as a long-term IDP prospect, we don't see a strong future for him or Fluellen in Fantasy play. Both guys will provide good depth for the Bears.
News: The Lions placed defensive lineman Corey Williams (knee) on injured reserved Tuesday and re-signed Andre Fluellen.
Analysis: Fluellen played for Detroit from 2008-11 but has just 2.5 sacks in 53 career games. Continue to ignore him in all Fantasy formats.
News: The Dolphins released defensive lineman Andre Fluellen Tuesday.
Analysis: Fluellen was just a backup defensive lineman for Miami and had no Fantasy appeal.
News: Miami signed defensive tackle Andre Fluellen to beef up the defensive line on Tuesday, reports the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. The move corresponds the release of DT Ryan Baker.
Analysis: Fluellen had spent the past four seasons with the Lions before getting cut last month. He has almost zero Fantasy value in IDP formats.
News: The Detroit Lions have re-signed defensive tackle Andre Fluellen to a one-year contract. Terms were not disclosed. Fluellen has played in 51 games over four seasons with the Lions. Detroit drafted him in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft and he started five games combined in his first two seasons. He has played in 29 the past two years as a backup. Fluellen has 46 career tackles.
Analysis: Fluellen isn't expected to be productive enough to warrant Fantasy use. Keep him off rosters.
News: Mlive.com reports Friday that Lions DL Andre Fluellen, who signed his free-agent tender offer last week, will play with a broken hand going forward. He suffered the injury on Thursday. "Just got it caught up in a facemask yesterday,'' Fluellen said.
Analysis: Fluellen can play both tackle and end on the defensive line, but if he has to play with a cast then he will likely play inside more times than not. The former FSU standout played in all 16 games for the first time as a pro last season, though he accounted for just 10 tackles and a sack. Fluellen's job is to absorb blockers on defense, but he won't help out Fantasy owners much this season. Ignore him on Draft Day.
News: The Lions were able to bring back DL Andre Fluellen, who signed his free-agent tender offer last week. The Detroit Free Press reported that he is chomping at the bit to get back into the swing of things. "It's awful because if everybody else is working, I want to be working," Fluellen said. "I'd almost rather not be even here because this makes me sick to my stomach not being able to practice. That's what I do, that's what I love to do. Practice out here with the fellas, you can't ask for anything better than this." Fluellen and the rest of the new acquisitions can practice beginning Friday.
Analysis: Fluellen played in all 16 games for the first time as a pro last season, though he accounted for just 10 tackles and a sack. The Florida State product is a block-absorbed for the active Detroit defense, but he doesn't warrant Fantasy value until it translates to stats. Ignore Fluellen on Draft Day.
News: The Lions listed the following players as inactive for Week 15 at Detroit: QB Matthew Stafford, DB Brian Witherspoon, Don Muhlbach, WR Eric Fowler, DL Turk McBride, DL Andre Fluellen.
Analysis: Outside of Stafford, none of the players listed have any real Fantasy appeal. Leave them reserved in all leagues until further notice.
News: Lions DB Jahi Word-Daniels, RB Terrelle Smith, DL Dewayne White, TE Casey Fitzsimmons, DL Andre Fluellen and QB Matthew Stafford have all been listed as inactive for the team's Week 14 game at Baltimore.
Analysis: Stafford is the only played listed with any relevance in standard Fantasy formats. The rest of these players can be left on waivers for Week 15 against Arizona.
News: Lions DL Andre Fluellen totaled two tackles and one sack during a Week 2 loss to the Vikings. It was the first sack of his career.
Analysis: Fluellen has dressed for just 10 games since entering the NFL in 2008, but he has played in the first two games this season and has been productive with six tackles. Keep an eye on Fluellen's progress. He was a decent pass rusher in college and could develop in the NFL. Right now, he remains a low-end Fantasy DL.
News: As Dan Orlovsky continues to be at the helm of the winless Detroit Lions, QB Daunte Culpepper was inactive for Week 16's game against New Orleans. Culpepper has now missed two straight games. The following Lions were also inactive for Sunday's game: QB Drew Henson (3rd QB), DB Chris Roberson, DB Darnell Bing and DL Andre Fluellen.
Analysis: Culpepper can't be on Fantasy rosters right now, especially considering that he's not going to start even if he was healthy. The rest of the players mentioned above have no Fantasy value and should all be kept off rosters like Culpepper.
News: The Detroit Lions have listed the inactives for their Week 10 game vs. Jacksonville. Not in uniform will be: QB Dan Orlovsky (hand), WR Reggie Ball (coach's decision), DB Dwight Smith (foot), FB Jerome Felton (ankle), FB Casey Fitzsimmons (ribs), DT Andre Fluellen (coach's decision) and DE Landon Cohen (coach's decision).
Analysis: Orlovsky had some Fantasy value before getting hurt, but should basically be dropped in all leagues now. Daunte Culpepper will start in his place. None of these other guys have any Fantasy value.
News: Detroit hosts the Redskins in Week 8 and has listed the following players as being inactive and out for the game: QB Drew Henson, DB Dwight Smith, DL Corey Smith, LB Jordon Dizon, DL Andre Fluellen and DL Landon Cohen.
Analysis: None of the players on this list should be considered viable Fantasy option. They are not in a position to contribute regular stats as they aren't in line for regular playing time. They've got some depth chart climbing to do and should be left on the waiver wire.
News: The Lions listed the following players as inactive for Week 6 at Minnesota: QB Drew Henson (third QB), QB Jon Kitna, DL Landon Cohen, DL Ikaika Alama-Francis, DL Andre Fluellen, DL Damion Cook and LB Gilbert Gardner.
Analysis: Aside from Kitna, of the players on this list should be considered viable Fantasy option. They are not in a position to contribute regular stats as they aren't in line for regular playing time. They've got some depth chart climbing to do and should be left on the waiver wire.
News: The Lions listed the following players as inactive for Week 3: QB Drew Stanton (third QB), DB Ramzee Robinson, LB Jordon Dizon, DL Damion Cook, DL Cliff Avril DL, Andre Fluellen and DL Landon Cohen.
Analysis: None of the players on this list are going to be in line for considerable playing time anytime soon. Leave them on the waiver wire in all Fantasy leagues until further notice. They've got some depth chart climbing to do.
News: Detroit has listed the team's inactives for their Week 1 contest against the Falcons. The players are as follows: QB Drew Stanton, CB Ramzee Robinson, DE Ikaika Alama-Francis, LB Gilbert Gardner, DT Andre Fluellen and DE Landon Cohen. T Damion Cook is officially off the roster.
Analysis: None of these players are expected to produce significant stats on a regular basis to begin with. Keep them off of Fantasy rosters until further notice.
News: The Lions addressed several needs in the 2008 NFL Draft, starting in the second round at LB with Jordon Dizon from Colorado. They also drafted DT Andre Fluellen from Florida State in the third round, LB Cliff Avril from Purdue in the third round, WR Kenneth Moore from Wake Forest in the fifth round, FB Jerome Felton from Furman in the fifth round, DT Landon Cohen from Ohio in the seventh round and DB Caleb Campbell from Army in the seventh round.
Analysis: Dizon will compete for a starting spot right away and is a decent LB in IDP leagues because of his potential to play. Fluellen is a space eater and has minimal Fantasy value. Avril also is a decent IDP option but should go undrafted. Moore and Felton will probably play on special teams, and Cohen and Campbell have no Fantasy value at this time.
