News:Quentin Groves has reached an agreement with the Browns, ESPN reports. Groves spent last season with the Cardinals, notching a career-high four sacks. He's reunited with defensive coordinator Ray Horton, who coached him in Arizona.
Analysis: As an outside linebacker with decent playing ability, Groves has never wowed us with a season-long stat line. Keep him off of Fantasy rosters.
News: With O'Brien Schofield being lost for the season due to an ankle injury, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said Tuesday that Quentin Groves will move into a starting role. Its unfortunate circumstance that my brother OBrien had to go down, but we have to keep the ball rolling, Groves told the team's official website. Next man up. Thats what this league is about."
Analysis: Groves, who has started for both Oakland and Jacksonville at times previously in his career, has 17 tackles with two sacks so far this season. He might be worth a look in deeper IDP formats with his new starting gig but Fantasy owners should not be clamoring for the 28-year-old just yet.

News: Defensive lineman Quentin Groves may not have started Week 2 at New England, but he certainly made his presence known, sacking quarterback Tom Brady in the second quarter and blocking a punt in the third. He finished with two tackles, both solo.
Analysis: Groves' only statistical contribution last week was three assisted tackles, so he's normally not such a big deal in Fantasy. He'll have to have another game or two like this one to deserve a pickup in Fantasy.
News: The Cards signed outside linebacker Quentin Groves on Thursday. Groves was a second-round pick of the Jaguars in 2008 and spent two seasons in Jacksonville, playing in all 32 games. He was traded to the Raiders for a fifth-round pick in 2009 and spent two years in Oakland. He was a starter in his first season but mostly a backup in 2011.
Analysis: Groves will provide much needed depth behind expected starters Sam Acho and O'Brien Schofield, though he could challenge for a starting spot. For now, Fantasy owners shouldn't invest in him.
News: With Raiders starting DE Trevor Scott (knee) on injured reserve, starting OLB Quentin Groves might see more time at defensive end in the Week 12 game against the Dolphins, coach Tom Cable said. Groves played DE at Jacksonville. OLB Bruce Davis is another option as a pass rusher.
Analysis: Groves was primarily a defensive end while at Auburn, so the additional role should not be too much of an adjustment for him. Still, he has yet to register a sack this season and remains a low-end Fantasy option at best.
News: Raiders LB Quentin Groves didn't practice on Wednesday and Thursday and was limited on Friday. Groves is listed as questionable heading into Week 5. He injured his hamstring during Oakland's Week 4 contest with Houston.
Analysis: Groves has 14 tackles and an interception through four weeks and has also recovered a fumble. He's still young -- just his third year in the league -- so he has potential. At this time he doesn't do enough to make him an impact player in IDP Fantasy leagues.
News: Oakland DL Quentin Groves injured his hamstring on Sunday of Week 4 against Houston. He will likely be on the injury report heading into Week 5 against the Chargers.
Analysis: Groves has played in all four games this season and has an interception and 14 tackles to his credit. He's also recovered a fumble. Groves has ability, but he doesn't contribute enough yet to matter in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Raiders coach Tom Cable said OLB Quentin Groves has made strides in his pass defense the past two weeks by playing with a little more instinct and a little more break on the ball and keeping the ball in front of him. Groves appears likely to be the season-opening starter at weakside linebacker. I think I just let it go, started playing football," he said. "The first two games I was thinking (too much). I just said, Man, see ball, get ball.'" If Groves starts at WLB, then Trevor Scott is likely to move back to defensive end.
Analysis: Groves has totaled just 43 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks in his first two seasons, both with Jacksonville. He might finally get a chance to be a breakout player in 2010 with the Raiders, but Groves is still nothing more than a Fantasy sleeper heading into the season.
News: The Jacksonville Jaguars have traded defensive end Quentin Groves to the Oakland Raiders for what is believed to be a fifth-round pick.
Analysis: The trade should give Groves a chance to start over. A second-round pick out of Auburn in 2008, Groves had 2 1/2 sacks as a rookie but none last year. He played every game in two seasons, recording 51 tackles and an interception. But he also dropped from starter to third-teamer. He's nothing more than a late-round pick in deeper IDP drafts this summer.
News: Jaguars DB Sean Considine (nine tackles), LB Clint Ingram (eight tackles), DL Quentin Groves (tackle, interception) and DL John Henderson (two tackles, fumble recovery) all had fine outings in a Week 10 win over the Jets.
Analysis: While these four had solid performances on Sunday, they are all non-factors in IDP play heading into Week 10 vs. Buffalo.
News: A week after changing defensive schemes, the Jacksonville Jaguars are changing defensive personnel. Second-year player Bryan Smith, signed off St. Louis' practice squad six weeks ago, will make his first career start Sunday at the Jets. Smith replaces defensive end Quentin Groves, a former second-round pick who has struggled to find a role with the Jaguars (4-4).
Analysis: Smith, a third-round pick by Philadelphia in 2008, was inactive for every game last season. He was waived in final roster cuts in September, then signed with the Rams. The Jaguars plucked the 6-foot-2, 250-pound lineman off the practice squad three weeks later, and he's been working his way up the depth chart since. Neither Groves nor Smith have any Fantasy relevance in IDP formats.
News: Jaguars LB Justin Durant (11 tackles), LB Daryl Smith (10 tackles), DB Reggie Nelson (seven tackles), DL Quentin Groves (four tackles, forced fumble) and DL Reggie Hayward (two tackles, sack) all made nice contributions in a Week 1 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Durant, Nelson and Smith have some minimal value in IDP leagues heading into Week 2 vs. Arizona. The other guys can all be ignored.
News: The Jaguars team web site reports that DL Quentin Groves is trying to gain weight for the 2009 season. Groves, the Jaguars' second-round draft choice last year, saw his weight drop to 251 pounds near the end of the season. When Groves' rookie season ended, he dedicated himself to an offseason training and eating regimen that would help gain weight. He's already up to 262 on the way to 270 pounds, his target playing weight.
Analysis: His rookie season wasn't the big hit Jaguars fans hoped it would be. He finished the season with 2.5 sacks. In year two, Groves hopes to take strides toward becoming an every-downs DE. If he gains the weight, it could help. For now, consider Groves a low-end Fantasy DL coming into the year.
News: Jaguars DL Quentin Groves made a sack in a Week 15 win over Green Bay. He now has 2 1/2 on the season.
Analysis: Groves is a talented rookie, but he's not worth using in IDP play heading into Week 16 vs. Indianapolis.
News: Jaguars LB Quentin Groves recorded a sack among his three tackles in Week 2 against Buffalo.
Analysis: Groves should tally some decent Fantasy totals later on in his career, but isn't yet a recommended starter in IDP leagues.
News: The Jaguars and second-round pick DE Quentin Groves agreed to terms on Friday. Groves tallied 117 tackles, 37 tackles for a loss and eight forced fumbles in four seasons at Auburn with 26 sacks. He's expected to be a situational pass rusher for Jacksonville, working on third downs at first.
Analysis: Groves should tally some decent Fantasy totals later on in his career, which is why he's worth a middle-round pick in rookie-only drafts. We can't recommend him for 2008 ply at this time unless you're in need of a low-tackle DL who might rack up five sacks.
