Noah Herron, RB CLE
News: To get down to the league-mandated 53-man roster, the Browns parted ways with the following players: DB Hamza Abdullah, FB Charles Ali, DB Brandon Anderson, QB Richard Bartel, DB Tra Battle, LB Beau Bell, LB Titus Brown, RB Noah Herron, DL Adam Hoppel, WR Paul Hubbard, DB Corey Ivy, RB Chris Jennings, WR Lance Leggett, WR Jordan Norwood, WR David Patten, DL Brian Schaefering, DL Santonio Thomas and TE Aaron Walker. DL Melila Purcell was waived/injured. Analysis: None of these players were expected to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep them off of rosters for now.
RB Herron signs with Browns RB Herron signs with Browns Updated 3/18/2009
Noah Herron, RB TB
News: Running back Noah Herron has signed with the Browns, who lost Jason Wright to free agency earlier this week. The 26-year-old Herron was drafted by Pittsburgh in the seventh round in 2005. The 5-foot-11, 225-pounder will battle in training camp with Jerome Harrison to fill Wright's role as a part-time back behind Jamal Lewis. Analysis: Herron played 16 games for the Packers in 2006. He spent all of 2007 on Green Bay's injured reserve list with a knee injury and was inactive for all four games he was on Tampa Bay's roster last year. He'll be lucky to make the Browns' final roster -- keep him off of Fantasy rosters.
Herron, Conover cut by Jets Herron, Conover cut by Jets Updated 2/26/2009
Noah Herron, RB TB
News: The Jets cut running back Noah Herron and defensive end Sean Conover, both signed in January. Analysis: Neither player was expected to make the 2009 final roster. Herron has limited upside as a third-down back but needs a team to play on first. Both should be ignored until further notice.
Jets bulk up their roster Jets bulk up their roster Updated 1/27/2009
Noah Herron, RB TB
News: The Jets signed the following players to Reserve/Futures contracts: DL Kareem Brown, RB Jehuu Caulcrick, DE Kenwin Cummings, WR Marcus Henry, RB Noah Herron, RB Marcus Mason, DE Ropati Pitoitua, WR Paul Raymond, LB Brandon Renkart, DT Brian Schafering and WR Huey Whittaker. Analysis: None of these players are any better than longshots to make the final roster. Don't expect to draft them in 2009.

Noah Herron, RB TB
News: The Buccaneers listed WR Dexter Jackson, QB Josh Johnson, RB Noah Herron, LB Matt McCoy and DL Chris Hovan among their inactives for Week 15 at Atlanta. Analysis: None of these players ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers.
Buccaneers list Week 14 inactives Buccaneers list Week 14 inactives Updated 12/8/2008
Noah Herron, RB TB
News: The Buccaneers listed QB Brian Griese, WR Dexter Jackson, QB Josh Johnson, RB Noah Herron, DB Donte Nicholson, LB Matt McCoy and DL Jovan Haye among their inactives for Week 14 at Carolina. Analysis: These players don't do enough statistically to matter in Fantasy even when active. Leave them on waivers.
Saints-Buccaneers inactives named Saints-Buccaneers inactives named Updated 11/30/2008
Noah Herron, RB TB
News: Notable inactives from the Saints-Buccaneers Week 13 game include: Saints QB Joey Harrington, DB David Pittman, WR David Patten, RB Mike Bell, FB Mike Karney and LB Marvin Mitchell. For the Buccaneers, QBs Brian Griese and Josh Johnson, WR Dexter Jackson, RB Noah Herron, DB Donte Nicholson, LB Matt McCoy and DL Greg Peterson are inactive. Analysis: Reggie Bush is active and expected to start for the Saints, as is TE Alex Smith for the Buccaneers. Everyone listed as inactive for Week 13 can be ignored in standard Fantasy play.
TE Smith among Bucs inactives TE Smith among Bucs inactives Updated 11/23/2008
Noah Herron, RB TB
News: The Buccaneers have announced the inactives for their Week 12 game at Detroit. Not in uniform will be: QB Josh Johnson (third QB), QB Brian Griese (elbow), WR Dexter Jackson (coach's decision), SS Jermaine Phillips (forearm), RB Noah Herron (coach's decision), TE Alex Smith (ankle) and DT Greg Peterson (coach's decision). Analysis: Smith and Phillips have some minimal Fantasy value when healthy, but Smith has now missed two straight weeks while Phillips is out for a third straight week. Smith will be replaced by Jerramy Stevens again. None of these other guys have any Fantasy value.
Bucs sign Herron to fill roster Bucs sign Herron to fill roster Updated 11/19/2008
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: The Buccaneers signed fourth-year RB Noah Herron after placing Earnest Graham on injured reserved Wednesday. He has appeared in 23 games with Green Bay and Pittsburgh, rushing for 273 yards and three touchdowns and catching 29 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns. Analysis: Herron gives the Buccaneers depth more than anything else and likely won't play a significant role on offense. Leave him on waivers in all Fantasy leagues.
Buccaneers make roster moves Buccaneers make roster moves Updated 11/19/2008
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: The Buccaneers signed RB Noah Herron, previously waived by the Packers back in August, to take Earnest Graham's spot on the Tampa Bay roster. The club also placed rookie linebacker Geno Hayes (knee) on injured reserve and signed linebacker Matt McCoy, who played in three games for Tampa Bay before being released on Oct. 18. Analysis: For now, none of these players are expected to be productive enough to warrant use in Fantasy play. Keep them all off of rosters until further notice.
Packers set final roster Packers set final roster Updated 8/30/2008
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: The Green Bay Packers released 19 players on Saturday to get their roster down to 53. The released players are as follows: WR Jake Allen, CB Scorpio Babers, DT Conrad Bolston, S Tyrone Culver, LB Spencer Havner, TE Joey Haynos, RB Noah Herron, LB Danny Lansanah, DT Alfred Malone, RB Vernand Morency, DT Daniel Muir, CB Joe Porter, WR Johnny Quinn, WR Taj Smith, WR Brett Swain and FB Corey White. Analysis: The only player of note on the above list in RB Vernand Morency, who was competing for time as the Packer's third string back. Unless he catches on elsewhere and improves his depth chart position, Morency has no Fantasy value. Neither do the rest of the above players at this time.
Herron gets preseason touches Herron gets preseason touches Updated 8/23/2008
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: The Packers rushed for 94 yards as a team in Saturday's preseason game at Denver. Noah Herron got four carries for 27 yards, the second highest yardage on the team. Most of the yards came on a 14-yard scamper in the third quarter. Analysis: Herron didn't play in 2007 after suffering a major knee injury before the start of the season. He is competing all over again for a spot on the Packers' RB depth chart after he watched DeShawn Wynn and then Ryan Grant post strong seasons in '07. He isn't likely to be useful in 2008 Fantasy play.
Herron misses all of 2007 Herron misses all of 2007 Updated 1/28/2008
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: Packers RB Noah Herron didn't play in 2007 after suffering a major knee injury before the start of the season. He was in line to be the Packers' third-down back. He'll enter 2008 in a contract year after signing a one-year extension during the season. Analysis: Herron will have to compete all over again for a spot on the Packers' RB depth chart after he watched DeShawn Wynn and then Ryan Grant post strong seasons in '07. Herron isn't likely to be draftable in 2008 Fantasy play.
Packers put RB Herron on IR Packers put RB Herron on IR Updated 9/2/2007
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: As part of a series of moves on Sunday, the Packers placed third-down back Noah Herron on Injured Reserve with a knee injury. He will not play this season. Brandon Jackson and Vernand Morency are expected to be Green Bay's primary running backs, with newcomer Ryan Grant also seeing some reps. Analysis: Herron can be safely dropped in all seasonal Fantasy leagues since he will not play in 2007.
Herron injured on TD catch Herron injured on TD catch Updated 8/31/2007
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: Green Bay had another running back injured during Thursday's preseason game against the Titans as Noah Herron, starting with Vernand Morency (knee) and rookie Brandon Jackson (concussion) out, hurt his knee after catching a 6-yard TD pass from Brett Favre. The Packers don't think the injury is serious. Analysis: Herron should see some reps throughout the season but won't be any better than a third-down back for Green Bay. He should be a low-end reserve RB only in the deepest of Fantasy Football leagues, particularly if those leagues reward for receptions.
Herron to start preseason finale Herron to start preseason finale Updated 8/28/2007
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that RB Noah Herron would start the team's preseason finale at Tennessee. Herron will play a lot because rookie RB Brandon Jackson suffered a concussion and is questionable for the game. Analysis: Herron should see some reps throughout the season but won't be any better than a third-down back for Green Bay. He should be a low-end reserve RB only in the deepest of Fantasy Football leagues, particularly if those leagues reward for receptions.
Herron to see more reps Herron to see more reps Updated 8/3/2007
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that Packers RB Vernand Morency has a knee ligament strain that could keep him on the shelf for as long as a month. Morency hurt his knee in practice on July 28, which means he could be out for the entire preseason. "It's a knee strain, is what it's classified as," coach Mike McCarthy said. "It's a couple weeks. It could be two. It could be four." Analysis: GM Ted Thompson added that Morency's injury isn't serious enough to consider bringing in another running back. What this adds up to is rookie Brandon Jackson at the front of the line to be the Packers' primary running back in 2007. Whether he shares reps with third-down back Noah Herron is another story, but Jackson is now in line to impress the coaches. Herron could work his way into a third-down role for the Packers; he'll almost certainly do that throughout the preseason. Treat him as a reserve Fantasy RB, albeit one who should be taken with a late pick in all leagues.
Morency, Herron get RB company Morency, Herron get RB company Updated 5/1/2007
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: With their second-round pick, the Packers took Nebraska RB Brandon Jackson, a runner in the Ahman Green mold. Jackson is considered a power runner despite his 5-foot-11 size with decent hands. He ran a 4.41 40-yard dash in his campus workout but ran a 4.55 at the Combine. The book on him is that he has speed and good change-of-direction skills, but not explosion and no second gear, and the thinking in Green Bay is that the coaches will wait and see how the players do before determining their rotation. "If one individual can carry the load, prove himself to carry the load, then we'll go that way," coach Mike McCarthy told Packers.com. "But if not we'll play situations, back-by-committee, however you want to label it. We added a very good player to our running back group (in Jackson). That's the way I view it." Analysis: Jackson will battle for the starting job with Vernand Morency with Herron being in the mix as a passing downs back. Morency should be considered a No. 4/reserve Fantasy RB until he proves that he's going to see more than 10 reps a game. He's worth a middle- to late-round pick. Herron should only be considered in the deepest of RB-intensive leagues that count receptions as a late-round flier.
Three TDs for Herron Three TDs for Herron Updated 2/8/2007
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: Packers RB Noah Herron was a mild surprise in 2006, rushing 37 times for 150 yards and a touchdown with 29 catches for 211 yards and two receiving TDs. The majority of his stats came in a game vs. St. Louis in October. Herron is an exclusive rights free agent this offseason. Analysis: Unless he ends up landing a better role elsewhere, Herron is not worth going after in 2007 Fantasy play.
RB Herron has two touches RB Herron has two touches Updated 12/22/2006
Noah Herron, RB GB
News: Noah Herron had a carry for one yard in Week 16 against the Vikings and he had a catch for four yards. Analysis: Herron does not get enough touches in the Green Bay offense to be worth using in any Fantasy league for Week 17 at Chicago.
