Lions lose Corey Hilliard

(9/10/2014) Lions right tackle Corey Hilliard, who played most of Monday night's win over the Giants, is expected to miss the rest of the season with a foot injury, reports the Detroit Free Press.

Lions 'very comfortable' with right tackles on roster

(3/2/2014) With Jason Fox headed to free agency, Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said he'd feel "very comfortable with LaAdrian Waddle and Corey Hilliard as his right tackles in 2014. Waddle started eight games last year after going undrafted out of Texas Tech.

“They both played really good football for us last year," Mayhew told the team's website of Waddle and Hilliard.

The website notes the Lions have more pressing needs at receiver and in the secondary.


Offensive linemen dominate Lions inactive list

(12/8/2013) Three offensive linemen are among the seven players on the Lions inactive list for the game Sunday against the Eagles. They are Rodney Austin, Leroy Harris and Corey Hilliard.

The others are quarterback Kellen Moore, running back Mikel Leshoure and cornerbacks Darius Slay and Chris Greenwood.

(11/28/2013) Players listed by the Lions as inactives for their Thanksgiving afternoon game vs. the Packers include: Receiver Michael Spurlock, quarterback Kellen Moore, cornerback Chris Houston, running back Mikel Leshoure and offensive linemen Leroy HarrisRodney Austin and Corey Hilliard.

Darius Slay will start at cornerback in place of Houston. 


Lions release Week 12 inactive list

(11/24/2013) The Lions have released their inactive report for the game Sunday against Tampa Bay. It includes two players listed with injuries - cornerback Jonte Green (illness) and tackle Corey Hilliard (knee).

The other inactives are center Leroy Harris, defensive end Austen Lane, running back Mikel Leshoure, quarterback Kellen Moore and wide receiver Michael Spurlock.


Eight Lions probable for Week 12

(11/22/2013) Lions S Louis Delmas, DE Ezekiel Ansah, TE Brandon Pettigrew, CB Bill Bentley, DT Andre Fluellen, CB Jonte Green, OT Corey Hilliard and OG Larry Warford are probable Week 12 against the Buccaneers.

Delmas has been on the injury report for weeks due to a knee injury. As usual, he took off Friday's practice. Delmas has played despite missing practice on Friday for multiple weeks now. Ansah was limited in practice each day this week.


Lions inactives Week 11

(11/17/2013) The Lions have made RB Montell Owens, DE Ziggy Ansah, CB Bill Bentley, T Corey Hilliard, WR Nate Burleson, QB Kellen Moore and G Leroy Harris inactive Week 11 against the Steelers.

Owens was ruled out Friday due to a knee injury. Both Bentley and Burleson were doubtful. Ansah attempted to get his ankle going during pre-game, but it was determined he should sit against Pittsburgh.


Two Lions questionable Week 11

(11/15/2013) Lions DL Ezekiel Ansah and OT Corey Hilliard are questionable Week 11 against the Steelers.

Ansah returned to practice on a limited basis Friday. He's dealing with an ankle injury, and should be a game-time decision. Hilliard has been dealing with a knee issue, but was able to return to practice Friday.

Long Lions injury report has mostly probables

(10/25/2013) Nearly all the players listed on the Friday injury report for the Lions are probable. The most prominent are wide receiver Calvin Johnson, running back Reggie Bush and safety Louis Delmas with knee injuries and cornerback Rashean Mathis (groin).

Others are linebacker Ashlee Palmer (ankle), tight end Brandon Pettigrew (hamstring), defensive lineman Andre Fluellen (concussion) and running back Theo Riddick (concussion).

As expected, wide receiver Nate Burleson (forearm) and tackle Corey Hilliard (knee) have been ruled out. Offensive linemen Jason Fox (knee) and Riley Reiff (hamstring) are questionable.


Corey Hilliard headed for MRI on knee

(10/20/2013) Lions offensive lineman Corey Hilliard said he is scheduled for an MRI on his right knee Monday, according to the Detroit Free Press. Hilliard suffered the knee injury in the second half Sunday against the Bengals.

Carey had been dealing with a hamstring injury. Hilliard was sidelined with a groin issue this week.

(9/27/2013) The Lions are dealing with injuries along the offensive line heading into Week 4 against the Bears, and it is not clear how many of their injured options will be able to play Sunday.

Tackles Jason Fox and Corey Hilliard were both limited in practice Friday as they continue to deal with groin injuries, while guard Rob Sims is probable with a shoulder injury. 


Lions waiting to name starting right tackle

(8/27/2013) The Lions coaches have yet to make a decision who will start at right tackle in the season opener against the Vikings, but it appears Jason Fox is the front-runner over Corey Hilliard and rookie LaAdrian Waddle, per The Detroit News.

"I think there are still possibilities there," coach Jim Schwartz said. "It’s coming into focus over the course of training camp. There could still be something that could change our minds. It’s important to finish strong and finish the way we started. It’s starting to come in. All of our positions are starting to come into focus, but none of them are cemented yet."
