Bears make roster moves

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/3/2014) On Tuesday the Bears announced the signings of receivers Armanti Edwards and Micheal Spurlock while agreeing to an injury settlement with Domenik Hixon and waiving linebacker Tana Patrick

Edwards and Spurlock will likely compete for kick return duties with the Bears. Spurlock hasn't returned a kick for a touchdown since 2012 and has three in his eight-year career while Spurlock hasn't scored a touchdown in any way since entering the league in 2010.

Hixon tore his ACL in practice with the Bears last week and won't play football in 2014. Patrick, a former member of the Crimson Tide, was signed in May.

Panthers receivers don't do much

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(12/29/2013) The Panthers receivers didn't do much Sunday at Atlanta in Week 17.

Ted Ginn scored a touchdown, but he had just two catches for 6 yards on five targets. Domenik Hixon had two catches for 16 yards on three targets. Brandon LaFell had no catches on five targets.

Steve Smith (knee) was out for this game, but he should return for the playoffs. The Panthers won the NFC South title and locked up the No. 2 seed. They next play in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Two usually productive Panthers not so on Sunday

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/10/2013) The Panthers received minor contributions from three skill position players Sunday in their defeat of the 49ers, but among them were two of their bigger weapons. Wideout Ted Ginn caught two passes for 19 yards while tight end Greg Olsen had his least productive game of the year with one first-half catch for 14 yards. Wide receiver Domenik Hixon added a reception for 9 yards.

All will try to contribute more next Monday night against the Patriots.

Three Carolina players contribute very little Week 3

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/22/2013) Panthers fullback Richie Brockel, running back Armond Smith and wide receiver Domenik Hixon all had very minor contributions Week 3 vs. N.Y. Giants.

Brockel had one rush for 1 yard, Smith had three carries for zero yards and Hixon had one catch for 8 yards.

The Panthers are on a bye Week 4 and return to action Week 5 at Arizona.

Panthers list six as probable for Week 2

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/13/2013) The Panthers enter Week 2 against the Bills in good shape as far as injuries go, with just two players ruled out for Sunday's game. The remainder of their injury report includes six palyers who are listed as probable and are expected to play through their injuries. They include: linebacker Jon Beason (knee); defensive lineman Dwan Edwards (thigh); defensive back Mike Mitchell (calf); tight end Ben Hartsock (foot); wide receiver Domenik Hixon (hamstring); and guard Amini Silatolu (hamstring).

Panthers list two on offense as questionable

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/6/2013) The Panthers could be without two possible contributors on offense in Week 1 against the Seahawks Sunday, as wide receiver Domenik Hixon (hamstring) and guard Amini Silatolu (hamstring) are both considered questionable for the game.

Domenik Hixon on roster bubble?

by Larry Hartstein | Senior Analyst
(8/28/2013) Domenik Hixon has gone from the Panthers' most likely No. 3 receiver to the roster bubble, reports ESPN.com. Hixon, who had been out with a hamstring injury, will play Thursday against the Steelers in the preseason finale.

"So this could be Hixon's coming out party -- or sendoff," the report said.

In Hixon's absence, the competition for the No. 3 spot was between Armanti Edwards and David Gettis, "with return specialist Ted Ginn Jr. figuring in the mix," according to the report.

Panthers receivers still dealing with injuries

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(8/15/2013) The Panthers were without wide receivers Domenik Hixon (hamstring) and James Shaw (undisclosed) for Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles, the second straight game each has missed.

Hixon is battling for a backup receiver job, but might not make his preseason debut until Week 3 of the preseason against the Ravens.

Three Panthers receivers likely out for preseason game

by Larry Hartstein | Senior Analyst
(8/12/2013) Panthers receivers Armanti Edwards (hamstring), Domenik Hixon (hamstring) and Joe Adams (calf) are expected to miss Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles, reports the Charlotte Observer. Coach Ron Rivera said Hixon, who's been out a week and a half, won't return for another week.

Panthers list injuries for preseason opener

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(8/8/2013) The Panthers announced Thursday that the following players will be out for Friday's preseason opener against the Bears: running back Mike Tolbert (hamstring), linebacker Jon Beason (knee), running back Jonathan Stewart (ankle), receiver Domenik Hixon, receiver James Shaw and guard Edmund Kugbila.

Panthers have battle for No. 3 receiver job

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/16/2013) Panthers receiver Domenik Hixon is expected to be the No. 3 receiver in Carolina this year behind Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell, according to ESPN.

The report says that Hixon's experience and ties to general manager Dave Gettleman could make Hixon the favorite for the job. But he'll face plenty of competition from Ted Ginn

Ginn had a great offseason and sparked hopes that he can win the No. 3 receiver job. Ginn has elite speed. But the real test will come in training camp and the preseason.
