News: In an interview with CBSSports.com, Dolphins receiver Brian Hartline said the addition of tight end Dustin Keller is big. Kelller signed as a free agent from the Jets this offseason. "His presence in the passing game is going to be huge," Hartline said. "You can see, kind of speaking hopefully for myself, were designing our offense through the passing game. Having a dynamic pass-catching tight end like Dustin Keller is important."
Analysis: Keller is coming off a down season in 2012 when he had just 28 catches for 317 yards and two touchdowns for the Jets. He does have some sleeper appeal, but he has to prove himself first. Keep an eye on his role early in the season, and he could end up as a solid addition off the waiver wire. We don't recommend drafting Keller in most formats, but he could be used a lot as the season goes on.
News: The Dolphins have signed tight end Dustin Keller to a one-year deal according to ESPN. Keller spent a few days with the Dolphins, reportedly asking for a long-term deal but ultimately settling for a contract for this season. He missed half of last season with the Jets, catching 28 passes for 317 yards and two touchdowns.
Analysis: Keller is more of a receiver than a tight end, though he doesn't have the size elite pass-catching tight ends have. He'll be a nice piece of the Dolphins offense but there's no high-upside appeal. Keller is cool as a one-week replacement off waivers during the season and not someone to draft.
News: The New York Post reports that tight end Dustin Keller, who is a free agent this offseason, doesn't know if he will return to the Jets. Keller is scheduled to become a free agent March 12, and all indications are the Jets will let him hit the open market. Keller made it clear he would love to be back with the Jets. Yeah, Id like to return, he said. I have a lot of great friends on the team, and Ive always thought of myself as a key piece of the offense there, but if Im not there thats fine, too. There are no hard feelings. I understand its a business for the Jets, but at this point its a business decision for me as well. Kellers agent met with the Jets at the NFL scouting combine last month, but Keller remains unsure just how much the team wants him back.
Analysis: The 2012 season was a rough one for Keller. He played in just eight games while dealing with hamstring and ankle injuries, and was limited to 28 catches and two touchdowns. That could hurt his value as a free agent if teams question whether he can stay healthy. But Keller never missed a game before last season and says he is 100 percent now. Keep an eye on where he ends up. In the right situation, Keller could be a No. 1 Fantasy tight end, but he's more of a No. 2 option until he proves otherwise.
News: The Jets will meet with the representatives for tight end Dustin Keller at the Combine next week, ESPN reports. Keller is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason.
Analysis: Keller is coming off a down year in 2012 due mostly to injuries. He appeared in only eight games and had 28 catches for 317 yards and two touchdowns. Keller has the ability to be a solid Fantasy tight end, but he could use an upgrade at quarterback, which might not happen in New York this year. Depending on what happens to him this spring he could be a nice sleeper with a late-round pick.
News: CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports that the Jets are going to be hard-pressed to retain free agent tight end Dustin Keller this offseason because of issues with the salary cap.
Analysis: Keller is coming off a down year in 2012 due to injuries. He appeared in only eight games and had 28 catches for 317 yards and two touchdowns. Keller has the ability to be a solid Fantasy tight end, but he could use an upgrade at quarterback. Hopefully a chance of scenery will help his production, so keep an eye on where he ends up. He could be a nice sleeper with a late-round pick.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was among the team's inactives for Week 17 at Buffalo due to a lingering ankle injury. Keller, who was ruled out for the season finale on Saturday, missed the finale four games with a high ankle sprain. Jeff Cumberland took his spot in the starting lineup.
Analysis: Keller, 28, is slated to become an unrestricted free agent after the season and he could land offers from other clubs in search of a capable scoring threat at the tight end position. Unfortunately, injuries have prevented Keller from progressing this year as he's been held to just two touchdowns, matching a career low. Keller should obviously be ignored in Week 17 and does not hold much value in Fantasy keeper leagues.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller (ankle) has been downgraded to out for the Week 17 finale at Buffalo. Keller was listed as doubtful on Friday but was expected to be ruled out for the game eventually. Keller finishes the season missing the final four games with a severe high ankle sprain.
Analysis: Keller may have played his last game in a Jets uniform now that he's been ruled out for the finale. The 28-year-old is slated to become an unrestricted free agent after the season and he could land offers from other clubs in search of a capable scoring threat at the tight end position. Unfortunately, injuries have prevented Keller from progressing this year as he's been held to just two touchdowns, matching a career low. Keller doesn't have that much keeper value at this point and should be grounded in all formats for Week 17.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller (ankle) was unable to participate in team drills during Friday's practice and is unlikely to play in the season finale at Buffalo. He was officially listed as doubtful on the team's injury report. Keller, who has missed the past three games with a severe high ankle sprain, has not practiced since suffering the injury in Week 13 against Arizona. Jeff Cumberland is expected to start in his place again Sunday -- he has scored two touchdowns while Keller has been sidelined.
Analysis: In addition to possibly being absent for the final game of the season, Keller could also miss his last contest in a Jets uniform. The 28-year-old is slated to become an unrestricted free agent after the season and he could land offers from other clubs in search of a capable scoring threat at the tight end position. Unfortunately, injuries have prevented Keller from progressing this year as he's been held to just two touchdowns, matching a career low. The Bills are permitting an average of 5.8 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, but Keller should be overlooked again for Week 17 because of the injury risk.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller told reporters Thursday that he hopes to be back at practice Friday, as he has his sights set on returning for what may be his final game in a Jets uniform, in Week 17 against the Bills. Keller also told reporters that his lingering ankle injury was a "high-grade" ankle sprain, and not a high ankle sprain. He has missed the last three games as a result of the injury, and was unable to practice Wednesday or Thursday.
Analysis: Kellers season has been a complete disappointment so far, as he has missed seven games already. Even when he was healthy, Keller topped 50 receiving yards just three times, while scoring two touchdowns. Even if he can make a return to the field Sunday, Keller would be considered just a low-end Fantasy option for Week 17.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller did not practice Wednesday in preparation for the Week 17 regular-season finale at Buffalo. Keller continues to miss time with an ankle injury and has been inactive for the last three games for the Jets.
Analysis: Keller's fifth NFL season has been a torture with injuries as he has topped 50 receiving yards only three times with two touchdowns on the year. Keller would be a low-end Fantasy option in the game against the Bills, even if he could return for the Week 17 finale.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was ruled out for Week 16 against San Diego after battling a troublesome ankle injury. Keller was unable to practice throughout the past week and will miss his third consecutive game. Jeff Cumberland is expected to start in Keller's place again Sunday.
Analysis: Injuries have ravaged Keller's fifth season as he has topped 50 receiving yards only three times while registering two touchdowns. The Chargers are permitting an average of 5.5 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends; Keller should obviously not be viewed as a reliable option for Week 16.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller is considered doubtful for Week 16 against San Diego with a lingering ankle injury. Keller was unable to practice throughout the past week and will likely miss his third consecutive game. New York coach Rex Ryan said Thursday that Keller is not progressing as well as hoped. Typically, Ryan also doesn't activate players who do not practice on Friday, adding to Keller's unlikely status for Sunday.
Analysis: With Keller seemingly poised for more time on the bench, fellow tight end Jeff Cumberland is expected to earn another start for the Jets. Injuries have ravaged Keller's fifth season as he has topped 50 receiving yards only three times while registering two touchdowns. The Chargers are permitting an average of 5.5 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends; Keller should not be viewed as a reliable option for Week 16.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller, who has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, sat out practice again Thursday and coach Rex Ryan reiterated Keller's unlikely return to the lineup Week 16 vs. San Diego. "It doesn't look as good as I had hoped," Ryan said, per Newsday.
Analysis: Fantasy owners shouldn't be relying on Keller heading into Week 16 since it appears the Jets won't be counting on him playing. Even if he played, he might not be 100 percent and could still lose reps to Jeff Cumberland. It's also worth noting the Jets have made a change at quarterback, benching Mark Sanchez in favor of Greg McElroy. If Keller doesn't get the practice reps with McElroy, then he probably won't be overly effective.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller, who has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, was held out of practice Wednesday. Coach Rex Ryan called his status iffy for Week 16 vs. San Diego.

News: New York tight end Dustin Keller and coach Rex Ryan were somewhat hopeful he would be able to get back in action in the Week 15 Monday night game at Tennessee. By the end of the week, however, it appeared that Keller would be unable to play with his ankle injury. Keller was officially ruled inactive Monday. It is the second game in a row in which he's been inactive.
Analysis: Keller will have to hope to return Week 16 against San Diego now as he was ruled inactive for the second consecutive week. Keller has scored two touchdowns this season and has been a slightly underwhelming Fantasy option in recent weeks. Sitting out once again Monday, he should be on benches or waivers in all Fantasy formats.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller once again did not practice Saturday in preparation for Week 15 on Monday night at Tennessee. Keller continues to sit out with an ankle injury and is doubtful for the Monday night game on the official injury report.
Analysis: Keller sounds as if he's going to miss the Week 15 Monday night game. Coach Rex Ryan was hopeful earlier in the week, but it appears the Jets won't get the tight end back for the game. Keller hasn't been ruled out, but we recommend looking for healthier alternatives for the game.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller, who missed Week 14 with an ankle injury, was unable to hit the practice field Friday as the team prepares for Monday's contest against the Titans. Tennessee ranks 26th in the league in pass defense, giving up over 250 yards per game, and has allowed an average of 8.1 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Coach Rex Ryan said earlier in the week he is hopeful Keller will return to the lineup Week 15. The good news is that New York doesn't play until Monday night, so Keller gets extra time to be ready. However, the bad news is that if he doesn't play, then Fantasy owners are left in a tough situation. We recommend looking toward healthier alternatives Week 15. Keller has low-end Fantasy value when healthy.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller, who missed Week 14 with an ankle injury, did not return to practice Thursday as the team prepares for Week 15 at Tennessee.

News: Jets coach Rex Ryan said tight end Dustin Keller, who sat out Week 14 with an ankle injury, is improving. "It seems like hes getting better," Ryan said Monday, per The Star-Ledger. "I thought he was getting better as the week goes on, but it wasnt enough he could play. Hopefully he'll keep making those strides and he could play. Adding another day, Monday, hopefully thatll get him back on the field."
Analysis: Keller is going to be day to day leading up to Week 15 at Tennessee. If he plays next Monday, then Keller might be worth using in deeper formats. He has been limited to eight games this season because of injury, totaling 28 catches for 317 yards and two touchdowns.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was listed among the team's inactives for Week 14 at Jacksonville in order to rest an ankle injury he suffered last Sunday against Arizona. Keller was initially listed as doubtful on the team's injury report before he was downgraded to out on Saturday. Jeff Cumberland will serve as the team's starting tight end.
Analysis: Keller, who is averaging just three receptions over his past three games played, has dealt with injury concerns throughout the season and suited up for only eight games. Fantasy owners should seek other options for Week 14, but Cumberland is not a suitable replacement outside of deeper formats against a Jaguars team permitting an average of just 5.5 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends.
News: The Jets downgraded tight end Dustin Keller to out for the Week 14 game at Jacksonville Saturday, reports the team's official site. Keller was doubtful entering Saturday on the injury report but the Jets ruled him out one day later. Keller sustained the injury Week 13. Jeff Cumberland is expected to be the team's starter against Jacksonville.
Analysis: The Jets and coach Rex Ryan were hoping Keller would be able to play against the Jaguars but it appears they have thought better of that. Keller has been ruled out and won't be playing against Jacksonville. Keller, who is averaging just three receptions over his past three games, has dealt with injury concerns throughout the season and suited up for only eight games. He should be avoided in all Fantasy leagues for the Week 14 game.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller missed practice again Friday and was listed as doubtful for Week 14 at Jacksonville due to an ankle injury. Keller was also absent from the previous two days of practice as he continues to recover from a troublesome ankle injury he sustained in Week 13. If out Sunday, Jeff Cumberland would serve as the team's starter against the Jaguars' 28th-ranked pass defense (260.9 yards allowed per game). "Doubtful generally means that he's not going," coach Rex Ryan said. "This is the sixth time this season we don't have Dustin."
Analysis: Earlier this week, Ryan was hopeful Keller would be able to remain in the lineup, but that status appears to have changed with his extended absence in practice. Keller, who is averaging just three receptions over his past three games, has dealt with injury concerns throughout the season and suited up for only eight games. Fantasy owners should seek options options for Week 14 as he appears highly unlikely to play.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller (ankle) missed a second straight practice Thursday, hurting his chances of playing Week 14 at Jacksonville. "I know he is getting better," coach Rex Ryan said, per The Star-Ledger. "So we'll see how he goes. I'm not ready to rule him out certainly. This is the second day that he's missed. I know he's getting substantially better."
Analysis: The Jets seem hopeful Keller will play Week 14, but the fact he continues to sit out practice doesn't help his chances. We advise Fantasy owners to consider healthier alternatives Week 14. Keller is more of a low-end option in deep formats when healthy.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller, who sustained an ankle injury Week 13, did not practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 14 at Jacksonville.
Analysis: Coach Rex Ryan was optimistic about Keller's status Monday, but Keller still remains questionable to play Week 14. Keller has been plagued by injury in 2012, but lately he has been one of the Jets' top targets in the passing game because of the team's lack of options at wide receiver. Still, Keller isn't close to producing what Rob Gronkowski or Jimmy Graham have been able to do consistently for Fantasy owners. Keller is more of a low-end option in deep formats when healthy. If Keller is out, then Jeff Cumberland will likely replace him in the lineup for New York.
News: Jets coach Rex Ryan sounded optimistic about tight end Dustin Keller's status. Keller left Sunday's game against the Cardinals with an ankle injury. "It doesnt look like a high ankle sprain, so thats good. Well know more later," Ryan said.
Analysis: Keller has been plagued by injury in 2012, but lately he has been one of the Jets' top targets in the passing game because of the team's lack of options at wide receiver. The Jets are at Jacksonville Week 14. If Keller is out, then Jeff Cumberland will likely replace him in the lineup for New York.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller left late in the second quarter of Week 13 against Arizona with an ankle injury, the team announced. Keller seemed to have trouble putting weight on his left leg as he limped off the field with less than four minutes remaining before halftime. He did not return to the sideline for the start of the second half and is considered questionable to return. He had two catches for 17 yards before departing. According to the New York Daily News, Keller suffered a high ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated this week.
Analysis: Keller, who was active for the game after being listed as probable on the injury report with an illness, collected just two targets from quarterback Mark Sanchez before the early exit. At the time, it was one fewer target than backup tight end Jeff Cumberland. Keller has been hobbled by hamstring issues this season so the Jets might not rush his return. Consider him a low-end option in deeper Fantasy formats when healthy.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller remained active for Week 13 against Arizona after dismissing an illness that plagued him during practice last week. He was able to practice in full despite the ailment and was listed as probable on the injury report. Keller recorded his second touchdown catch of the season last Sunday against New England, and will go up against a Cardinals defense that ranks fourth in the NFL against the pass. Arizona is yielding just 203.7 passing yards per game this season.
Analysis: Keller has a decent history against the Cardinals as he hauled in a touchdown pass in his only meeting with the club. However, that outing was during his rookie campaign in 2008 -- on his only catch of the game -- and the Arizona defense has vastly changed since then. The unit has permitted an average of only 5.1 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends -- second-fewest in the league -- and just four scores to the position on the year. Consider Keller a viable option only in deeper Fantasy formats for Week 13.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was labeled as probable for Week 13 against Arizona after dealing with an illness in practice. Despite the issue, Keller practiced in full throughout the past week as he attempts to reach the end zone for the second straight game. Keller recorded his second touchdown catch of the season last Sunday against New England, and will now go up against a Cardinals defense that ranks fourth in the NFL against the pass. Arizona is yielding just 203.7 passing yards per game this season.

However, that outing was during his rookie campaign in 2008 -- on his only catch of the game -- and the Arizona defense has greatly changed since then. The unit has permitted an average of only 5.1 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends -- second-fewest in the league -- and just four scores to the position on the year. Consider Keller a viable option only in deeper Fantasy formats for Week 13.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller found the end zone for the second time this season Thursday against the Patriots in Week 12. Keller had his best game since Week 8, as he brought in five passes for 64 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown catch towards the end of a 49-19 blowout loss. Keller was targeted seven times in the game, the second-most on the team.
Analysis: Keller has torched the Patriots this season, bringing in 12 catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, he has been a non-factor against the rest of the league, totaling just 14 receptions for 143 yards in five other games. He has been a major disappointment this season, with double-digit Fantasy points against just the Patriots so far. Keller has shown the ability to be a productive Fantasy option, but his lack of consistent contributions has hurt. Week 13 should not provide him with an opportunity to turn things around, as the Cardinals loom on the schedule. Arizona has been the stingiest team in the league against opposing tight ends this season, limiting them to just 4.8 Fantasy points. He is just a low-end Fantasy option for Week 13.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller has a good matchup heading into the Week 12 Thanksgiving night game at home against the Patriots. New England is allowing the third-most Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends on the season. They have given up 63 catches for 689 yards and six touchdowns to the position and you know quarterback Mark Sanchez will be targeting Keller early and often in the Thursday night contest.
Analysis: Keller has an excellent history against the Patriots. He has 445 receiving yards against them in his career, his most against any opponent. Keller had his best game of the season this year in Week 7 at New England as he caught seven passes for 93 yards and a touchdown. He has 20 catches for 279 yards and two scores against New England in his last five games against them. Keller only has the one TD this season but will look for another on Thanksgiving night. He is a worthy Fantasy start in all leagues for the Week 12 game.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller tallied only two receptions for 16 yards during New York's 27-13 victory over St. Louis in Week 11. Keller was one of seven Jets players who finished with two catches or less as he was targeted only twice by quarterback Mark Sanchez. He also watched fellow tight ends Konrad Reuland and Jeff Cumberland combine for two receptions and 25 yards during the game.
Analysis: Keller has been unable to sustain the production he showed when he returned from a hamstring injury and has now managed just five catches in his past two games. During his previous two games to Week 10, Keller recorded at least seven receptions, but now is not a focal point of the passing game like he was in those games. Fantasy owners should view him as an unreliable option for Week 12 against New England on Thursday.
News: After registering back-to-back outings with seven receptions, Jets tight end Dustin Keller stumbled during the team's Week 10 loss at Seattle, finishing with just three catches for 47 yards. He will attempt to bounce back quickly during Week 11 at St. Louis, a team he has enjoyed some success against in his career. In his lone meeting against the Rams, Keller has six receptions for 107 yards with a touchdown during the 2008 contest.
Analysis: Keller seems to have emerged as the Jets' top receiving target behind Jeremy Kerley this season as he has posted 19 catches in just five games. While he has just one touchdown, he has enjoyed a quality average of 11.6 yards per reception and will look to return to the end zone for the first time since Week 7 at New England. The Rams are allowing an average of 8.0 Fantasy points per game, as well as three touchdowns over their past four outings. Keller should be viewed as a quality option in most Fantasy formats for Week 11.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller notched three receptions for 47 yards during New York's 28-7 loss at Seattle in Week 10. Keller had tallied seven catches in each of his previous two games, but only registered five targets in Sunday's outing and produced an average of 15.7 yards per catch.
Analysis: After overcoming a hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for four games, Keller appeared to be back as a valuable member of the Jets' passing game. Not so fast. The 28-year-old was able to maintain his solid yardage totals, but he was one of only two Jets players to record more than one reception (Jeremy Kerley, five). Fantasy owners should still consider him a viable option in deeper formats for Week 11 at St. Louis, but prepare to experience a wide range of emotions with the tight end on a weekly basis.
News: It appears all Jets tight end Dustin Keller needed was some time to get acclimated to the flow of the game again. After being hobbled by a hamstring injury that forced him to miss four games at the beginning of the season, has totaled 14 receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown over his past two games. He has also amassed 18 targets as he heads into Week 10 at Seattle as he has reconnected with quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Analysis: Keller had just one reception in each of his first two games as it appeared the injury took more of a toll on him than he indicated. But he is healthy now and received another week to rest during New York's bye and should continue to receive ample targets in a limited receiving corps. The Seahawks' lock-down defense on tight ends has eased up recently and the unit is permitting an average of 6.3 Fantasy points per game. Plus, tight ends have found the end zone twice in the past four weeks so Keller could hold some value in deeper formats for Week 10.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller posted seven receptions for 67 yards during New York's 30-9 loss to Miami in Week 8. Keller finished with seven catches for the second game in a row as he claimed 11 targets from quarterback Mark Sanchez -- tied for the second most on the team. His longest gain came on a 23-yard play as he registered an average of 9.6 yards per catch.
Analysis: Aside from the slightly lower yardage total, Keller's line Sunday was similar to the one he produced during Week 7 at New England. Keller had seven catches, including a long gain of 23 yards, but he also reached the end zone against the Patriots. He was targeted near the end zone again Sunday, however, he was unable to pull in any passes as the Jets managed just one touchdown in the rout. With 14 catches in his past two games, Keller has proved to be a worthwhile Fantasy option in most formats for New York's Week 10 matchup at Seattle following its upcoming bye.
News: Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said his team has spent extra time preparing for Jets tight end Dustin Keller in advance of the team's Week 8 matchup. Keller, who missed New York's overtime win at Miami last month, has four touchdown catches in eight games against the Dolphins. The former Purdue standout returned from a nagging hamstring injury last week and caught seven passes for 93 yards and a score. "He gives you problems," Philbin said. "They do a great job with him formationally. They don't line him up in the same spot as you guys know. They move him around. He's got versatility. He's a very athletic player and I remember evaluating him when he came out as a college player. The guy's, he's a threat, he's a weapon and they do a nice job with him."
Analysis: With star receiver Santonio Holmes out the rest of the season with a foot injury, Keller likely will see plenty of passes from Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez going forward. I think he's playing well," Philbin said of Sanchez. It appears that he's glad to have (Keller) back. That certainly seems to be evident when you watch their tape. We think he's distributing the ball pretty well." Keller hauled in all seven of the passes thrown in his direction from Sanchez last week and will look to extend his strong play against a Miami team that is permitting an average of 7.0 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. He has developed into a quality starting option in most Fantasy formats for Week 8.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller hauled in all seven passes thrown in his direction from quarterback Mark Sanchez for 93 yards and a touchdown during New York's 29-26 overtime loss at New England in Week 7. Keller, who was listed as probable on the injury report with a lingering hamstring issue, entered Sunday's game with just two catches in the two games he's played in this season. He connected with quarterback Mark Sanchez on a 7-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter for his first score since Week 17 of last season.
Analysis: Keller's health status is key for the Jets as he offers a large target in the end zone as his frame towers over some of the team's smaller wideouts. He took advantage of the Patriots' issues in the secondary and finished tied for the third-most targets on the team with rookie receiver Stephen Hill and could carry that production into Week 8 against Miami. Consider Keller a possible bye-week replacement in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller is active for Week 7 at New England after being considered probable on the team's injury report due to a lingering hamstring issue. Keller was a full participant in practice the past two days after being limited in last Wednesday's session. He is aiming to rebound from his one-catch performance last Sunday against Indianapolis, which was his first game in more than a month because of the injury.
Analysis: Keller has a solid history against the Patriots and posted a career-high 115 yards against them in 2010 so perhaps he can create a spark during Sunday's game. New England is allowing an average of 8.6 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season, but Keller remains a low-end starting option in most formats for Week 7.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was listed as probable on the team's injury report for Week 7 at New England because of a lingering hamstring issue. Keller was a full participant in practice the past two days after being limited in last Wednesday's session. He is aiming to rebound from his one-catch performance last Sunday against Indianapolis, which was his first game in more than a month because of the injury (Sept. 9 vs. Buffalo).
Analysis: Keller was expected to serve as an integral piece of the Jets' passing game this season, but so far he has posted just two receptions for a whopping 13 yards. And that's even on just two targets from quarterback Mark Sanchez. Keller has a solid history against the Patriots and posted a career-high 115 yards against them in 2010 so hopefully he can create a spark during Sunday's game. New England is allowing an average of 8.6 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season, but Keller remains a low-end starting option in most formats for Week 7.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was held to just one catch for six yards during New York's 35-9 win over Indianapolis in Week 6. It was Keller's first game since the season opener as he missed the past four games with a hamstring injury. However, we was targeted only once as fellow tight end Jeff Cumberland also received a single target from quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Analysis: Keller has played in just two games this season and in both outings, he has finished with just one reception as the Jets have looked elsewhere to move the ball downfield. Plus, Keller has been used more in blocking schemes as New York has placed additional emphasis on the run this season. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a low-end option heading into Week 7 at New England as his touches could be limited.
News: As anticipated, Jets tight end Dustin Keller is active for Week 6 against Indianapolis after missing the past four games with a hamstring injury. Keller was listed as probable on the team's injury report after being a limited participant in practice over the past week.
Analysis: The Jets will be conservative with Keller in his first game in more than a month as coach Rex Ryan said he doesn't expect the tight end to receive the full allotment of snaps Sunday. The 28-year-old has just one catch in his only game this season and will ultimately be looking to stay healthy in Week 6. The Colts are permitting the fewest Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this year (3.5) so it might be best to keep Keller reserved another game.
News: Jets coach Rex Ryan said Friday he anticipates tight end Dustin Keller suiting up for Week 6 against Indianapolis after dealing with a lingering hamstring injury. Keller, who has not played since the season opener against Buffalo, took part in team drills during Friday's practice after being limited the previous two days. However, Ryan admitted he does not expect Keller to receive the full allotment of snaps during Sunday's contest.
Analysis: The Jets will be conservative with Keller in his first game in more than a month as the team is lacking reliable options in the receiving corps, especially with Santonio Holmes out for the season with a foot injury. Keller could help create some space downfield for New York's other receivers as he draws defenders over the middle of the field. The 28-year-old had just one catch in his only game this season and will ultimately be looking to stay healthy in Week 6. The Colts are permitting the fewest Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this year (3.5) so it might be best to keep Keller reserved another game.
News: Jets coach Rex Ryan said tight end Dustin Keller, who has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury, was limited in practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 6 vs. Indianapolis.
Analysis: Ryan said Tuesday he felt good about Keller returning Week 6. The fact he is already practicing is a good sign. The Jets could use his presence in the passing game since wide receiver Santonio Holmes is done for the season with a foot injury. If Keller plays Week 6, he will be just a low-end Fantasy option, but he is a player worth keeping tabs on.
News: Jets coach Rex Ryan sounded encouraged Tuesday about tight end Dustin Keller returning Week 6 vs. Indianapolis. Keller has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury. "I'm encouraged," Ryan said. "He thinks he's going to go this week, which will give us a huge boost."
Analysis: While Jeff Cumberland had a strong performance Week 5 vs. Houston, his last targeted pass went off his hands and was intercepted by Houston, which sealed a win for the Texans. Perhaps the same thing might have happened to Keller, but he is a much better pass-catching tight end and a huge part of the Jets' pass game, especially with wide receiver Santonio Holmes done for the season. If Keller plays Week 6, he will be just a low-end Fantasy option, but he is a player worth keeping tabs on.
News: New York tight end Dustin Keller is inactive for the Week 5 Monday night affair at home against the Texans. Keller could not be active for the game as he was unable to get back on the practice field during the week due to his hamstring injury. Keller was doubtful entering the contest and was listed among the inactives.
Analysis: Keller has missed the last four games for the Jets due to his hamstring problem. The Jets obviously need him in the passing game after losing receiver Santonio Holmes (foot) for the season. Keep him grounded in all Fantasy formats for Week 5 and hope he can return to action in the coming weeks.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was officially listed as doubtful for the Monday night game against Houston Saturday. Keller is unlikely to play in the Week 5 game as he has been unable to practice due to his hamstring injury.
Analysis: Keller still has a chance of getting on the field Monday, but we would doubt it at this point. Keller has missed the last three games for the Jets due to his hamstring problem. The Jets obviously need him in the passing game after losing receiver Santonio Holmes (foot) for the season. But the Jets play Monday night in Week 5 and who knows how much Keller would play even if he returns. Keller is probably best left on benches in all Fantasy formats.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller (hamstring) continued to miss practice Friday in preparation for the Week 5 Monday night game against Houston. Keller will be a game-time decision for the game against the Texans most likely. Jets coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday that he was unsure about Keller's availability and little has changed from that Friday.
Analysis: Keller, who has missed the last three games for the Jets due to his hamstring injury, may not be able to return Week 5 on Monday night. The Jets obviously need him in the passing game after losing receiver Santonio Holmes (foot) for the season. But the Jets play Monday night in Week 5 and who knows how much Keller would play if he returns. It's still better to use healthier alternatives in the upcoming scoring period.
News: Jets coach Rex Ryan told reporters Wednesday he is "really not sure" about tight end Dustin Keller's availability Week 5 vs. Houston, according to the New York Daily News. Keller, who has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury, was held out of practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Ryan said last week he was optimistic about Keller returning, but obviously that didn't happen, so now Ryan isn't making any promising comments. The Jets obviously need him in the passing game after losing receiver Santonio Holmes (foot) for the season. But the Jets play Monday night in Week 5 and who knows how much Keller would play if he returns. It's still better to use healthier alternatives in the upcoming scoring period.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was listed among the team's inactive for Week 4 against San Francisco due to a lingering hamstring injury. Keller was listed as questionable on the injury report, but coach Rex Ryan retreated on his optimism from early last week about Keller's return and would not commit to his availability last Friday.
Analysis: Ryan said Thursday he expected Keller would be able to rejoin the lineup, but instead he will miss his third consecutive game. The Jets would certainly like to get Keller back in the lineup as quarterback Mark Sanchez has recorded two touchdown passes and two interceptions in two games during his absence. But Fantasy owners will have to wait at least one more game as Keller should be reserved only in deeper formats.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was listed as questionable on the team's injury report for Week 4 against San Francisco because of a troublesome hamstring issue. Keller, who has missed the last two games after suffering the injury during the season opener, was a limited participant in practice over the past week. Coach Rex Ryan shifted gears on Keller's availability Friday after expressing optimism about his return a day earlier. "We'll find out," he said. Keller has just one reception for seven yards in his limited playing time this season.
Analysis: Ryan said Thursday he expected Keller would be able to rejoin the starting lineup, but that appears to be back in question after the release of the injury report. The Jets would certainly like to get Keller back in the lineup as quarterback Mark Sanchez has recorded two touchdown passes and two interceptions in two games during his absence. Keller has always been a preferred target for Sanchez as his height helps near the end zone. The 49ers are yielding an average of 12.0 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season, but Keller remains a low-end option in deeper formats if he's active in Week 4 while he works his way back into game shape.
News: Jets coach Rex Ryan told reporters Thursday he expects starting tight end Dustin Keller to return Week 4 against the 49ers after missing two games with a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Keller returns just in time for a favorable matchup against the 49ers. San Francisco is still a good defensive team, but they have been suspect at stopping tight ends in 2012. Tight ends are averaging 12 Fantasy points per week against San Francisco, which is tied for fourth highest in the league. Tight ends have also totaled four touchdowns through three games against San Francisco, with one tight end scoring each week. Keller is just a sleeper start in the deepest of formats Week 4, if he returns as expected.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was listed among the inactives for Week 3 at Miami as he continues to be sidelined with a nagging hamstring injury. Keller was unable to practice throughout the past week and was ruled out for the game on Saturday. He was initially listed as questionable.
Analysis: It's unfortunate Keller was sidelined for Sunday's outing as he posted nine catches for 96 yards and a touchdown in two games against Miami last season, continuing his strong effort against New York's division rival. Keep him reserved only in deeper formats this week as he looks to get healthy for Week 4.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller has been ruled out for the Week 3 game at Miami Sunday, reports the New York Daily News Saturday. Keller was listed as questionable on the official injury report, but coach Rex Ryan said he would re-evaluate him Saturday. He made the decision to shut him down for the Dolphins game.
Analysis: Keller is officially not playing in Sunday's Week 3 game against the Dolphins. It's unfortunate as Keller posted nine catches for 96 yards and a touchdown in two games against Miami last season, continuing his strong effort against New York's division rival. Do not start him Week 3.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was listed as questionable on the team's injury report for Week 3 at Miami due to a lingering hamstring injury. Keller, who missed New York's outing in Week 2, did not participate in practice Friday. He was a limited participant Thursday after sitting out with the issue Wednesday. Jets coach Rex Ryan said he would re-evaluate Keller on Saturday in order to make a final determination on his playing status.
Analysis: Keller's questionable tag is actually an improvement from his status last week as he was ruled out for Week 2 last Friday. However, he seems unlikely to play again versus the Dolphins and Fantasy owners shouldn't bank on him as a starting option Sunday (or any game when's healthy for that matter). It's unfortunate as Keller posted nine catches for 96 yards and a touchdown in two games against Miami last season, continuing his strong effort against New York's division rival. Keep him reserved only in deeper formats this week as he looks to get healthy for Week 4.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was back at practice Thursday, after missing Week 2 and being limited Wednesday with a hamstring injury. The team remains hopeful that he will be able to return for Sunday against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Friday should be the most important day for Keller, as he will not be likely to play if he does not practice Friday. We will continue to monitor his status throughout the week, but Keller is a risky Fantasy option for the week, given his limitation, as well as the Jets' issues in the passing game.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller, who missed Week 2 with a hamstring injury, did not practice Wednesday, but he hopes to be back Week 3 at Miami. "I had a little bit of a tweak," Keller said, per The Star-Ledger. "It wasnt something major but it was enough to get a day or two setback, something like that, which is why I wasnt able to play in the game. If this week goes smoothly I should be able to play in this game this week."
Analysis: Even if Keller returns Week 3, the Jets' passing game is so erratic, Keller would be a risky Fantasy play. Fantasy owners should look toward better alternatives for Week 3.
News: As expected, Jets tight end Dustin Keller was listed among the inactives for Week 2 against Pittsburgh as he continues to be sidelined with a hamstring injury. Keller did not practice last Thursday or Friday as the issue has hampered him since the preseason. Jeff Cumberland is expected to start in his place at tight end on Sunday.
Analysis: Keller has served as one of quarterback Mark Sanchez's favorite targets in the past, but the more time he misses will certainly have a negative impact on that chemistry. Fantasy owners only in deeper formats should keep him reserved as he aims to return to the field in Week 3.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was ruled out for Week 2 at Pittsburgh after struggling to overcome a hamstring injury that crept up on him during practice this past week. Keller was held out of practice the past two days, including Friday, as a result of the issue that has bothered him since the preseason. Sunday will mark the first game Keller has missed in his career as the Jets signed Dedrick Epps to help bolster the tight end unit.
Analysis: Keller has looking to rebound from his sluggish performance in the season opener when he mustered just one catch for seven yards. But the hamstring injury apparently is bothering him more than expected and he will miss at least one game with the injury. Keller has served as one of quarterback Mark Sanchez's favorite targets in the past, but the more time he misses will certainly have a negative impact on that chemistry. Fantasy owners should consider healthier alternatives for Week 2, including Kyle Rudolph, Dennis Pitta or Marcedes Lewis.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was unable to practice Thursday, after coming down with a sore hamstring Wednesday. This is the same hamstring that has slowed him since the preseason, but this was the first time he was unable to participate in practice as a result. Keller is looking to bounce back from a subpar effort in Week 1, when he finished with just one catch for seven yards, but if the injury remains an issue, he may have trouble bouncing back Sunday against the Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Keller has been one of Sanchez's favorite targets since the two broke into the league, but the hulking tight end now has to deal with this injury, as well as another receiving option for the Jets. Stephen Hill, a rookie out or Georgia Tech, made a splash in his NFL debut against the Bills and totaled five receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns. But Keller has been known to be an inconsistent option and faces a daunting task against the formidable Steelers' defense. Opposing tight ends managed just 74 catches versus the Steelers last season; consider Keller a low-end option only in deeper Fantasy formats for Week 2, if healthy.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was a forgotten man during the Jets' season-opening win over Buffalo, finishing with just one reception for seven yards. His catch came on his lone target from quarterback Mark Sanchez, who completed passes to six other receivers. It was the 10th time he tallied just one reception during his five-year NFL career. He will attempt to bounce back from the lowly performance during Week 2 at Pittsburgh. In his previous regular-season contest against the Steelers during the 2010 season, Keller had only three receptions for 19 yards.
Analysis: Keller has been one of Sanchez's favorite targets since the two broke into the league, but the hulking tight end now has to deal with another receiving option for the Jets. Stephen Hill, a rookie out or Georgia Tech, made a splash in his NFL debut against the Bills and totaled five receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns. But Keller has been known to be an inconsistent option and faces a daunting task against the formidable Steelers' defense. Opposing tight ends managed just 74 catches versus the Steelers last season; consider Keller a low-end option only in deeper Fantasy formats for Week 2.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller posted one catch for seven yards -- on his lone target from quarterback Mark Sanchez -- during New York's 48-28 rout of Buffalo in Week 1 on Sunday. Keller overcame a nagging hamstring issue that forced him to be questionable on the injury report, but was not a major factor in the Jets' plans in the season opener. The fifth-year pro finished with one catch in just one game during the 2011 campaign.
Analysis: Keller was seemingly active only in his health status as Sanchez looked away from his usual reliable target and attempted more passes downfield. Keller, who paced New York's receiving unit with 65 receptions last season, struggled to create much of an opening beyond the line of scrimmage as Sanchez looked more in the direction of rookie Stephen Hill. Keller certainly has a habit of being inconsistent so Fantasy owners should not scoff at him just yet. For now, consider him a low-end option in deeper formats for a tough Week 2 matchup at Pittsburgh.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller was listed as active for the team's Week 1 clash against after dealing with a troublesome hamstring injury. Keller, who was been limited by the issue since the preseason, was listed as questionable on the injury report. But he was expected to play, coach Rex Ryan said.
Analysis: Keller will attempt to duplicate his impressive 2011 campaign this season and earns an enticing matchup in Week 1. The Bills were one of Keller's favorite teams to play against last season as he recorded eight total receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns. His two scores in Week 12 last year marked the second time in his career he has reached the end zone twice against Buffalo. Fantasy owners should view Keller as a mid-range option in most formats. The Bills surrendered the most Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends last year at an average of 12.2 a contest, along with a league-high 13 touchdowns.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller is listed as questionable on the team's injury report with a lingering hamstring injury, but he is expected to play during Week 1 against Buffalo. Keller was limited in practice over the past two days, but was able to run routes without issue during Friday's session. "I think he's ready to roll," coach Rex Ryan said Friday. "We'll see, I'm not sure how much it's going to limit him, but he practiced today."
Analysis: Keller will attempt to duplicate his impressive 2011 campaign this season, beginning Sunday. The Bills were one of Keller's favorite teams to play against last season as he recorded eight total receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns. His two scores in Week 12 last year marked the second time in his career he has reached the end zone twice against Buffalo. With the hamstring not expected to limit him, Fantasy owners should view Keller as a mid-range option in most formats. The Bills surrendered the most Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends last year at an average of 12.2 a contest, along with a league-high 13 touchdowns.
News: Jets coach Rex Ryan said Thursday he still isn't ready to clear tight end Dustin Keller (hamstring) to play Week 1 against the Bills. "He looked decent running but I dont think he was ready to play and run 100 percent," Ryan said, per The Star-Ledger. "With that hamstring you want to get him as close to 100 percent as you can before this game. Well see. Im still hopeful hell play against Buffalo but well see." Keller said Wednesday he feels good and should be ready to play Sunday, and reiterated those sentiments Thursday. "I'm pretty sure I'll be good to go on Sunday," Keller said, per the New York Daily News.
Analysis: Keller probably doesn't want to miss this matchup since he has had success against the Bills in his career. Keller has totaled 20 catches for 228 yards and four touchdowns in seven games against Buffalo. The Bills yielded 12.3 Fantasy points per week to tight ends in 2011, which was the highest average in the NFL. If Keller is active, then he certainly passes a sleeper start for Week 1 given his history against Buffalo. If he is inactive, then the tight end position will be a tandem situation between Jeff Cumberland and Konrad Reuland. Neither would be a recommend Fantasy start.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller (hamstring) expects to play Sunday of Week 1 against Buffalo, reports the Newark Star-Ledger Wednesday. Keller ran routes full speed Wednesday at practice. He is day to day with his injury. "I feel really good," Keller said today. "I think I should be good for Sunday...It's feeling a lot better." Keller is coming off a season in which he paced New York with 65 catches and 815 yards -- both of which represented career highs.
Analysis: Keller will attempt to duplicate his impressive campaign this season, beginning with the Jets' Week 1 matchup against Buffalo if he's able to play. The Bills were one of Keller's favorite teams to play against last season as he recorded eight total receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns. His two scores in Week 12 last year marked the second time in his career he has reached the end zone twice against Buffalo. With the hamstring not expected to limit him at this point, Fantasy owners should view Keller as a mid-range option in most formats. The Bills surrendered the most Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends last year at an average of 11.7 a contest, along with a league-high 13 touchdowns.
News: Last season, the Jets boasted a roster that included Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress in its receiving corps. Neither of them led the team in yards or receptions. Instead that distinction belonged to tight end Dustin Keller, who paced New York with 65 catches and 815 yards -- both of which represented career highs. Keller was slowed by a hamstring injury during the Jets' third preseason game and did not play in the finale. But he has repeatedly proclaimed he will be completely healthy for the start of the regular season.

News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller (hamstring) said Monday that he expects to available for New York's Week 1 matchup against Buffalo on Sept. 9. Keller apparently dodged a serious injury when he left Sunday's preseason loss to Carolina on the first series with a hamstring injury. He is not expected to play in the final exhibition game Thursday against Philadelphia as the Jets plan on resting their starters. "I should be fine for the season opener," Keller said in a text message to ESPN, adding that he may also avoid an MRI exam because the issue is "not that bad."
Analysis: New York's tight end unit took a crushing hit Sunday as the team also lost backup Josh Baker to a possible season-ending knee injury. But it appears Keller will be available for the start of the 2012 campaign as he looks to continue his maturation in the NFL. The 27-year-old has increased his reception total over each of the past three seasons and established a career high with 65 catches last year. He also has not missed a game during his NFL career and remains a quality target in the red zone. However, the Jets' lowly quarterback situation should leave him for the later rounds of Fantasy drafts.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller left in the first quarter of Sunday's preseason contest against Carolina with a hamstring injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the game, the team announced. Keller apparently suffered the injury on New York's first offensive play when he recorded his first reception on a 24-yard from quarterback Mark Sanchez. He attempted to remain in the game, but motioned to the Jets sideline and departed.
Analysis: Keller's absence is a huge loss for the Jets as he is one of the favorite targets of Sanchez in a passing game that lacks consistent options. The 27-year-old has increased his reception total over each of the past three seasons and established a career high with 65 catches last year. He also has not missed a game during his NFL career, but his hamstring injury could put his status for Week 1 of the regular season in question. Keller is a quality target in the red zone, but should not be considered a Fantasy option outside of the later rounds of most drafts.
News:Dustin Keller will play out his rookie contract in 2012 and not get offered an extension according to the New York Post. The Jets want to see if he'll fit into their new offense before giving him a long-term deal. Keller's receiving totals have increased in each of the last three years with five touchdowns in each of the last two seasons -- those numbers boosted by red-hot Septembers, followed by weak Octobers, Novembers and Decembers.
Analysis: The report adds that the Jets split Keller out wide "frequently" during offseason workouts, a sign that he might play more as a receiver than a tight end. If that were to happen, and it sort of makes sense when you look at the Jets' wide receiving corps, then Keller would be worth a late pick in Fantasy drafts. We'll keep an eye out for that in training camp and if it looks like Keller will line up like Aaron Hernandez, he could be in line for his best season yet -- especially if he's motivated to play for a new contract and guaranteed money.
News: The Jets and tight end Dustin Keller have begun contract talks, according to ESPN. Keller is entering a contract year in 2012. He posted career-best totals last season with 65 grabs for 815 yards and five touchdowns.
Analysis: Keller's been a good Fantasy tight end but hasn't lived up to the potential that people believe him to have. For two straight seasons, Keller started off red hot before cooling off as early as October. He'll need to show more consistency before joining the ranks of the elite tight ends. Consider him a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE worth a middle- to late-round pick.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller posted a game-high seven receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown during New York's 19-17 loss to Miami in Week 17. Keller hauled in every pass thrown in his direction from QB Mark Sanchez as he topped seven catches for the second straight outing. He connected with Sanchez on a 1-yard touchdown strike in the first quarter to give the Jets a 7-3 lead. It was his fifth touchdown catch of the season.
Analysis: Keller showed he can be a standout receiving option as he amassed 15 receptions over his last two games of the season. His numbers remain inconsistent because of Sanchez's outings, but he was able to match his career high with five touchdown catches. Keller also set career highs for receptions and yards. He will enter the 2012 season as a quality Fantasy TE option late in drafts after the elite players are off the board.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller has quietly turned in the best season of his career during his fourth year with New York. Keller has posted career highs in catches (58) and receiving yards (770) and will look to add to his impressive totals in Week 17 against Miami. He is coming off an eight-catch performance in his previous outing against the Giants and will also attempt to reach 70 receiving yards for the third consecutive game.
Analysis: Earlier this week, Keller pointed out the biggest flaw for the Jets' offense during the entire season. "We've had our ups and downs," he said. "Never at any point have we been consistent." Inconsistency has certainly been hampered by sporadic play and has not reached the end zone in the past four games. The Dolphins are permitting an average of 6.6 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season. Consider Keller a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 17 as he continues to be one of QB Mark Sanchez's favorite targets.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller surpassed 200 career catches in Week 16 against the Giants, but it came in a 29-14 loss. Keller led the team with eight catches and 77 yards. He was also targeted a team-high 18 times in the loss. Keller now has 206 career catches.
Analysis: Had Keller produced a touchdown, then he would have had a great day for Fantasy owners. He still had a productive day, especially in PPR formats. Keller has gone over 70 yards in each of his last two games and you have to love the fact QB Mark Sanchez targeted him 18 times. Consider Keller a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 17 against the Dolphins. He had two catches for 51 yards against Miami in Week 6.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller heads into Week 16 against the Giants needing just two catches to become the fourth TE in franchise to reach 200 career receptions. Keller could reach that milestone Week 16 since the Giants are yielding more than four catches per game to TEs. New York is also yielding 8.0 Fantasy points per week to TEs.
Analysis: Teams have been letting it fly lately against the Giants and tight ends have benefited. TEs have totaled seven receiving touchdowns in the last seven games against New York. Keller has been very inconsistent for Fantasy owners this year, which is why he is at best a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 16.
News: New York TE Dustin Keller was targeted a team-high six times on Sunday against Philadelphia. He caught three passes for 73 yards, which was also a team high. The Jets would end up losing the game, however, 45-19, despite Keller setting a new career-high for yards in a season at 693.
Analysis: Keller still needs six more catches to set a new career high in that category as well as two more touchdowns. He has two more weeks to get it done though. In Week 16 the Jets face the Giants in a New York showdown. The Giants' secondary has been giving up 257 passing yards per game this season. They've also been burned for 25 touchdowns through the air in 14 games, which is the fourth most in the league. Even though he has a good matchup on paper, Fantasy owners should consider Keller a low-end No. 1 TE option for Week 16.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller is on the verge of establishing career high numbers across the board, and could reach them with a big game against the Eagles in Week 15. With eight more catches, 68 yards, and two more touchdowns, the fourth-year player would have achieved career highs in all of the significant receiving categories. However, hell have a tough time reaching those numbers against an Eagles team that has not allowed a tight end to score more than once in a game since Week 2.
Analysis: The Eagles allow the seventh fewest receiving yards to tight ends in the NFL, so Keller will likely have to put his career highs off for one more week. They have also held opposing tight ends to the sixth fewest Fantasy points in the league. He has never faced the tough Eagles defense in his career, but consider him a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 15 despite the tough matchup.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller garnered four receptions for 34 yards during New York's 37-10 victory over Kansas City in Week 14. Keller was targeted a team-high five times by QB Mark Sanchez as he finished with 8.5 yards per catch. It was the third time in his past four games he was unable to top double-digits in yards.
Analysis: Keller's progress has come to a screeching halt recently as he has totaled just 46 receiving yards over his past two games. In addition, Keller has not hauled in a pass of more than 11 yards during that two-game stretch after gaining at least one 15-yard catch in his previous six outings. Fantasy owners should consider him a No. 2 Fantasy TE in Week 15 as he could remain limited against a tough Philadelphia secondary.
News: After being limited to three receptions last Sunday at Washington, Jets TE Dustin Keller is looking to regain his consistency during Week 14 against Kansas City. Keller was held to only 12 yards -- his lowest total since Week 5 -- in a win over the Redskins as he finished with the same number of catches as penalties. The Chiefs are allowing an average of 213.8 passing yards to opponents this season, 12th fewest in the NFL.
Analysis: Keller could not build on his strong outing in Week 12 when he scored two touchdowns against Buffalo. He can usually be relied on for 50-60 yards per game, but his big-play ability has been limited this season as he has topped the century mark only once. Kansas City has had issues defending tight ends and is permitting an average of 9.0 Fantasy points per game to the position. The Chiefs have also surrendered eight touchdowns to tight ends. Consider Keller a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 14.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller was held in check on Sunday in the Week 13 win at Washington. Keller caught just three passes for 12 yards in the contest from QB Mark Sanchez. Sanchez targeted Keller six times in the game.
Analysis: Fantasy owners can expect consistency from Keller in terms of catches and yardage. With Sanchez throwing the passes, Keller has consistently been around 3-6 catches per game this season. Keller has the ability to gain 100 yards receiving, but most often will be around 50-60 yards. Keller's Fantasy value comes when he gets into the end zone. Keller, who scored two touchdowns against Buffalo Week 12 but was held out of the end zone against the Redskins, has a good chance at scoring against Kansas City Week 14. The Chiefs entered Week 12 in a tie for the most TE touchdowns allowed in the NFL. Few teams give up more Fantasy production to the tight end position. Keller should even be considered a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE against K.C. in Week 14.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller tied his career high with two touchdown receptions Week 12 against Buffalo. Keller will look to keep that going Week 13 in Washington. Keller, who has four touchdown receptions on the season but picked up his first two since Week 2 last week, is facing a Redskins team that has been solid at limiting the Fantasy production of opposing tight ends this season.
Analysis: Only a few tight ends have gotten the better of the Washington defense this season. For the most part, most TEs have been held in check by the Redskins. Keller hasn't topped 64 receiving yards since Week 3 and we doubt he's going to hook up with Mark Sanchez for two touchdowns again Week 13. One is a possibility, but Keller is mostly just a No. 2 Fantasy TE for the Week 13 contest.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller recorded four catches for 61 yards and two touchdowns during New York's 28-24 victory over Buffalo in Week 12. Keller, who collected eight targets from QB Mark Sanchez, reached the end zone for the first time since Week 2 with his 3-yard touchdown grab in the second quarter. His 18-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter marked the third time in his four-year career that he has caught multiple touchdowns in a game. The last time occurred on Oct. 3, 2010, also against Buffalo (two scores).
Analysis: Keller halted an eight-game scoreless streak with his third touchdown of the season. He has been struggling mightily recently and surpassed four catches just once since Week 3 against Oakland. But he posted a solid 15.3 yards per catch in Sunday's game as he finished one target shy of the team lead held by WR Santonio Holmes. Keller should be viewed as a high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 13 at Washington.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller is no stranger to prolonged scoring droughts during his NFL career, including this season. After scoring a touchdown in the first two games of the year, Keller has not reached the end zone in his past eight games heading into Week 12 against Buffalo. Keller has gone at least seven games without a touchdown in each of his four seasons and set a career high with 12 straight scoreless outings last year.
Analysis: Keller's woes can be tied to QB Mark Sanchez's struggles as he has recorded more interceptions (four) than touchdown passes (two) over his past three games. Keller has not topped 50 receiving yards in his previous two outings, but his targets remain plentiful and he's tallied 12 looks in that span. The Bills are yielding an average of nine Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. Consider Keller a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 12.
News: New York TE Dustin Keller caught five passes for 40 yards in Week 11 against Denver. Mark Sanchez targeted him eight times in the contest. The Jets would lose the game, 17-13.
Analysis: Keller hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 2, but Denver has played opposing team's tight ends tough this year. Looking ahead, Keller and the Jets host the Bills in Week 12. Buffalo has allowed 14 passing touchdowns and are giving up 261.4 passing yards per contest. If the Jets want to get back to winning, they may want to return to what was working for them at the beginning of the year -- getting Keller the ball. Fantasy owners should view him as a high-end No. 2 TE option moving forward.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller is hoping to continue his strong success against Denver during the teams' meeting in Week 11 on Thursday night. Keller has amassed 10 receptions and 152 receiving yards in two career games against the Broncos. In his first outing during his rookie year, Keller registered seven catches for 77 yards in New York's loss. Denver is surrendering 243.1 passing yards per game this season.
Analysis: Keller has struggled recently after a hot start and notched 13 receptions over his past five games. He has not reached the end zone since Week 2 against Jacksonville, but draws a possibly tough matchup in the Broncos as they have allowed just three touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season. In addition, Denver has yielded just five Fantasy points to the position. Consider Keller a high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 11.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller had a quiet game Sunday against the Patriots. Keller was held to two catches for 37 yards on just four targets.
Analysis: Keller continues to struggle after a hot start, and he's becoming difficult to trust for Fantasy owners. Consider Keller a No. 2 Fantasy TE in Week 11 at Denver on Thursday night.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who suffered head and shoulder injuries Week 9, practiced Wednesday in prep for Week 10 vs. New England. Coach Rex Ryan said Monday that he expected Keller to play Week 10. In the first meeting of the year between these team's Keller was held to one catch for 7 yards. The Patriots have given up 14 passing touchdowns and are allowing a league-high 314 passing yards per contest. That translates into 7.25 Fantasy points per outing for opposing team's tight ends.
Analysis: Keller returned to action Sunday after getting hurt, so his Week 10 status didn't seem in doubt. As long as he suffers no setbacks, then he should hit the field Sunday. After a great start to the season, Keller has posted more modest numbers lately. He had just one catch for 7 yards in his first meeting with the Patriots, so consider Keller more of a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 10.
News: Jets coach Rex Ryan said Monday that TE Dustin Keller, who sustained head and shoulder injuries Week 9, is expected to play Week 10 vs. New England. Keller passed a concussion test Sunday before returning to action against the Bills. "I was shaken up for a couple of seconds," Keller said. "Obviously, the doctors were concerned, so they brought me in the locker room. I was pretty upset about that because I knew I was fine and I could get back in the game."
Analysis: Keller appears to be fine, so Fantasy owners shouldn't worry about his Week 10 status. What's more alarming is his on-field performance. After a great start to the season, Keller has posted more modest numbers lately. He had just one catch for 7 yards in his first meeting with the Patriots, so consider Keller more of a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 10.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller said he passed a concussion test before returning to Week 9 against Buffalo on Sunday, according to ESPNNewYork.com. Keller left the game in the second quarter with a head injury after landing hard on his shoulder and head while attempting to vault over Bills DB Terrence McGee following a catch. "I was shaken up for a couple of seconds," Keller said. "Obviously, the doctors were concerned, so they brought me in the locker room. I was pretty upset about that because I knew I was fine and I could get back in the game."
Analysis: Keller returned to the game at the start of the third quarter and finished with four catches for 64 yards. It's the third consecutive game he has amassed at least 50 receiving yards. "He got his head smashed, but he's fine," New York coach Rex Ryan said. "He was a little dizzy." Keller, who has not scored a touchdown since Week 2, is expected to play in Week 10 against New England. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy TE for the outing.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller tallied four catches for 64 yards during New Yorks 27-11 victory over Buffalo in Week 9. Keller was targeted seven times by QB Mark Sanchez, but his scoring drought extended to six games. He has not had more than four receptions in his past five outings. Keller did leave the game in the second quarter after trying to hurdle a defender following an 11-yard gain and didnt return until the start of the second half.
Analysis: For the third consecutive game, Keller paced the team in targets. Keller has had trouble scoring following a strong start to the season when he scored two touchdowns in the first two games as the Jets have relied more on the ground game. He is still a favorite target of Sanchez, but his inconsistency makes him an unreliable Fantasy option. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 10 against New England.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller left Week 9 against Buffalo in the second quarter with a head injury, but was able to return at the start of the second half. Keller was injured following an 11-yard reception when he tried to hurdle a Bills defender, but flipped in the air and landed hard on his shoulder. He was clearly shaken up by the play and was assisted to the sideline by team trainers. Keller had two catches for 35 yards before departing.
Analysis: Keller's remains a top target of QB Mark Sanchez and was tied for the team lead with three looks from Sanchez before leaving. Keller had recorded 50 yards in back-to-back games entering Sunday's outing. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status leading up to the Jets' matchup against New England in Week 10, but he appears to be fine.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller has not scored a touchdown since Week 2 against Jacksonville as he has gone five games without reaching the end zone. It's the second-longest scoring drought of his career after he went 12 games without a touchdown last season. He will look to halt the woeful skid in Week 9 against Buffalo. In his last game against the Bills, Keller tied a career-high with touchdown catches on Oct. 3, 2010.
Analysis: Keller seems to have a knack for strong starts before fading later, especially when it comes to touchdowns. The 27-year-old registered all five of his touchdowns last year in the first four games, and both of his scores this season occurred in the first two weeks. Buffalo represents a favorable matchup as the Bills have yielded an average of 8.5 Fantasy points and three touchdowns to tight ends. Consider Keller a high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 9.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller had four receptions for a team-high 53 yards during New York's 27-21 victory over San Diego in Week 7 on Sunday. Keller also tied for the team lead in catches and finished with 13.3 yards per reception. However, he did turn the ball over on a fumble after the Jets' first pass play of the game when he was stripped by LB Donald Butler, who returned the ball 37 yards for a touchdown.
Analysis: Keller remains one of QB Mark Sanchez's favorite targets as he earned eight targets -- matching the team lead with WR Plaxico Burress, who hauled in three touchdown passes. Keller has registered at least 50 yards in back-to-back games, but has still been unable to reach the end zone since Week 2. Consider Keller a high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE in Week 9 against Buffalo following New York's upcoming bye.
News: Despite leading the team with 21 receptions this year, Jets TE Dustin Keller has seemingly been a forgotten man in New York's passing game recently. Part of his struggles can be attributed to the poor play of QB Mark Sanchez, whose 82.3 passer rating ranks 20th in the NFL. Keller has not recorded more than two catches in either of his past three games and has just five grabs for 70 yards and no touchdowns in that span.
Analysis: Keller does not have a favorable matchup in Week 7 as the Jets host San Diego, which ranks second in the league against the pass. However, Keller has posted some success against the Chargers and hauled in a touchdown catch in two straight games versus San Diego, including the playoffs. But while San Diego has shut down wide receivers this year, it has allowed an average of 9.8 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. Consider Keller a No. 2 Fantasy TE as he could find some open looks with the Chargers focusing on the Jets' receivers.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller was able to come up with some big catches in Week 6 against the Dolphins. He posted two grabs for 51 yards in the 24-6 win. He had a long reception of 27 and averaged 25.5 yards per catch. Keller, who was targeted five times, finished second on New York in receiving behind WR Santonio Holmes (63 yards).
Analysis: After catching just three passes for 19 yards in his last two games, Keller was able to get back on track on Monday night. He has posted at least 50 yards in four out of the six games, but has not been able to find the end zone since Week 2. He remains a reliable safety valve for QB Mark Sanchez so keep an eye on his progress going forward. Heading into Week 7 against the Chargers, consider Keller as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller has had successful performances in his career against his opponent in Week 6 -- the Dolphins. In two games against the division foe a year ago, he caught nine passes for 132 yards with two touchdowns. Miami enters Monday night ranked 31st in the league against the pass, giving up 307 yards per contest, and have allowed an average of 12.5 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: After some productive games earlier in the year, Keller has caught just three passes for 19 yards over his last two. But with a favorable matchup in Week 6, he should be able to get back on track. The Dolphins have given up the second-most Fantasy points to tight ends this season so consider Keller a No. 1 option on Monday night.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller was not much of a factor in Week 5 against the Patriots. Keller only caught one pass in the 30-21 contest, which went for 7 yards. He was targeted twice by QB Mark Sanchez. "Being 2-3 right now is a little different," Keller said. "I can't recall starting off like this. We've got to fight back. We have a lot of football left, but we have to fight back."
Analysis: Keller wasn't a factor at all on Sunday, as Sanchez didn't look his way much at all. After getting off to a great start to the season, Keller has now been very limited in his last two games. He has totaled just three catches for 19 yards over that stretch, but looks to have a favorable matchup in Week 6. Miami has struggled on defense this season, allowing 307 passing yards a game. Keller has also had some success against them in the past, racking up 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his two meetings against them last season. Consider him a low-end No. 1 option heading into next Monday night.
News: QB Mark Sanchez and TE Dustin Keller developed an immediate rapport during Sanchez's rookie year and it has carried over into this season. Keller has caught 18 passes for 261yards with a pair of touchdowns thus far, and looks to have a favorable matchup in Week 5 against New England. The Patriots enter Sunday's contest ranked 32nd in pass defense, allowing 368.8 yards per contest. New England has surrendered seven touchdowns through the air and allowed an average of 5.5 Fantasy points to opposing TEs through the first four games of the season.
Analysis: Sanchez and Keller have developed a great rapport with each other, which has carried over for a few years now. In fact, Keller leads the team in targets (31), receptions (18), receiving yards (261) and is tired for the club lead in receiving touchdowns with two. Despite the Patriots struggles on defense, they have actually done well in limiting most team's TEs. Still, Keller caught 10 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown in two games against the division foe a year ago, so consider him a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE against New England.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller was not very productive in Week 4 against the Ravens. He caught just two passes for 12 yards in the 34-17 loss. He was targeted eight times by Mark Sanchez and had a long reception of 9 yards.
Analysis: Keller had his worst game of the season on Sunday night as Baltimore's athletic safeties and linebackers held him in check. He is usually better at finding space in the middle of the field and should be able to get back on track in Week 5 against the Patriots. He caught 10 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown in two games against the division foe a year ago so consider Keller a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE against New England.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller enters Week 4 against the Ravens second in the AFC among tight ends with 249 yards receiving. Baltimore ranks 17th in the league against the pass, giving up over 245 yards per game, and have held opposing tight ends to an average of three Fantasy points. When Keller faced the Ravens a year ago, he caught two passes for 13 yards.
Analysis: Keller is second to Patriots Rob Gronkowski in yardage for tight ends so far this season as he has become a solid safety valve for QB Mark Sanchez. He has been very productive while seeing a lot of passes thrown his way in each of the first three games this season, but that could change in Week 4. Baltimore's safeties and linebackers have the speed and ability to keep up with most tight ends in the league, so Keller will have a tough task on Sunday. Consider Keller as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE against Baltimore.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller registered five receptions for 87 yards in New York's 34-24 loss to Oakland in Week 3 on Sunday. Keller, who was targeted nine times by QB Mark Sanchez, was held out of the end zone for the first time this season. He had scored once in each previous game.
Analysis: Keller remains one of Sanchez's favorite targets as he tallied the second-most looks on the team behind WR Derrick Mason (10). Keller presents a solid option for Sanchez to drop passes off to near the line of scrimmage and over the middle. He tallied a long reception of 33 yards against the Raiders, the second straight week he's gone over 30. Consider him a low-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 4 against Baltimore.
News: While some of the other Jets receivers have gotten off to a slow start this season, TE Dustin Keller has formed a quick connection with QB Mark Sanchez. Heading into New York's Week 3 matchup at Oakland, Keller has racked up a team-leading 11 catches for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Sanchez is looking Keller's way often and he has recorded 14 targets, tied for the team lead with WR Santonio Holmes.
Analysis: Keller is coming off a 101-yard performance in his last outing against Jacksonville in Week 2. It was the third 100-yard game if his four-year career and the Jets improved to 3-0 when he reaches the century mark. The Raiders have been stingy against tight ends this season and yielded a total of 48 yards and a touchdown to the position. Still, Keller has scored in each game this year and should be viewed as a No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 3.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught six passes for a game-high 101 yards and a touchdown during New York's 32-2 victory over Jacksonville in Week 2 on Sunday. Keller, who was targeted a team-high six times from QB Mark Sanchez, connected with the signal-caller on an 11-yard touchdown in the third quarter to give the Jets a 22-3 lead. Keller is now averaging an astounding 14.7 yards per catch early this season.
Analysis: Keller continues to serve as Sanchez's favorite target as he reached the end zone for the second straight game. Nine of his 11 total receptions this season have accounted for either a first down or touchdown as he leads the team with two receiving scores. Keller also displayed strong downfield ability and had a long catch of 37 yards Sunday. Fantasy owners should consider him a rising No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 3 at Oakland.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller only garnered five receptions during New York's victory over Dallas in Week 1, but they all went for first downs. The fourth-year Purdue product amassed 61 yards on his catches for an average of 12.2 yards per reception as QB Mark Sanchez effectively moved the ball against the Cowboys secondary. Keller also hauled in a touchdown from Sanchez, the 11th of his career.
Analysis: Keller could see an increase in passes his way during Week 2 against Jacksonville if WR Santonio Holmes is limited by an injury or is inactive. He remains a favorite of Sanchez in the red zone as his touchdown pass against Dallas was on a 4-yard strike. The Jaguars permitted 249 passing yards to Tennessee in Week 1 and Fantasy owners should consider Keller a high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 2.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller had a productive game in Week 1 against the Cowboys. He caught five passes for 61 yards and a touchdown in the 27-24 win. QB Mark Sanchez connected with him on a 4-yard scoring strike in the second quarter and targeted him eight times in the game. Keller had a long reception of 19 and averaged 12.2 yards per catch in the victory.
Analysis: Keller had the best campaign of his young career a year ago and started out the 2011 season with a productive outing. He caught five touchdown passes last season and should be able to surpass that mark as long as Sanchez keeps throwing him the ball. He has been the safety value for Sanchez for the last few seasons and has become good at finding open space in the secondary. With Jacksonville on the schedule for Week 2, consider Keller as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller will not be facing the most stout secondary when he faces off against the Cowboys in Week 1. Dallas ranked 26th in the league against the pass a year ago, giving up over 243 yards per contest, and allowed an average of six Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Keller had the best campaign of his young career in 2010 as he posted career highs in receptions (55), yards (687) and touchdowns (five). He has been the safety value for QB Mark Sanchez for the last few seasons and has become good at finding open space in the secondary. But with Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress as the main threats in the passing game, Keller might not be the strongest option heading into Week 1. Consider Keller as a no. 2 Fantasy TE against the Cowboys.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller notched a season-high eight receptions for 64 yards in New York's 24-19 loss to Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game on Sunday. Keller, who was targeted a game-high 10 times by Jets QB Mark Sanchez, primarily served as a solid receiving option just beyond the line of scrimmage for the second-year signal-caller. Keller's yardage total was also fourth-most this season.
Analysis: Keller has been one of Sanchez's favorite targets all season and he finished with six-plus receptions for the fourth time in 2010. However, he didn't record a touchdown this postseason after hauling in a TD pass in every playoff game last year. Keller remains part of a talented receiving corps and should continue his progression as one of the NFL's most-reliable tight ends. He should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy TE in 2011 drafts.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller was not much of a factor in Sunday's Divisional Playoff win against the Patriots. Keller was targeted five times in the 28-21 victory and finished with three receptions for 15 yards. He had a long of 7 yards in the contest and has now racked up six receptions for 57 yards during the Jets playoff run.
Analysis: Keller and the Jets will now head back to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers for a second time this season. New York beat the Steelers back in Week 15 at their place, but Keller only had three receptions for 19 yards in that contest. He started off the season on fire, scoring all five of his touchdowns in the first four weeks. Unfortunately he hasn't done much since and is a risky start in Fantasy playoff formats. Continue to monitor him through this postseason and see if his Fantasy stock improves. Keller should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy TE heading into 2011.
News: New York TE Dustin Keller was one of Mark Sanchez's favorite targets during the regular season, but with Sanchez sidelined in Week 17, Keller wasn't targeted once. That changed in the Wild Card game on Saturday against the Colts. Keller was targeted a team-high nine times, catching three passes for 42 yards. The Jets would win the game on a field goal as time expired, winning 17-16.
Analysis: Keller and the Jets travel to face New England next week, a team they split the season series with. Keller struggled in the regular season at times -- scoring all five of his touchdowns in the first four weeks of the year. His best game came against the Patriots in Week 2 as he had seven receptions for 115 yards and a score. Continue to monitor him through this postseason and see if his Fantasy stock improves. For now, consider him a No. 2 TE option in 2011.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller did not even see a target come his way despite being active for the Week 17 regular-season finale win over the Bills. The Jets didn't keep the starters in the game for long and Keller was not even targeted.
Analysis: Keller has really done little since Week 4 of the season, but had just caught seven passes for 79 yards in a re-emergence Week 16 at Chicago. Instead of turning a corner, he wasn't even used in Week 17. That definitely has something to do with the team resting starters, but he's struggled all year. Keep an eye on his performance in the postseason, but he should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy TE in 2011.
News: In the Jets' Week 16 loss at Chicago, TE Dustin Keller snared seven passes for 79 yards, marking his best game since Week 4. The seven catches ties a season-high.
Analysis: We'd recommend Keller for Week 17 vs. Buffalo, but we're not sure how much time he'll have. The Jets are locked into a wild-card berth and have nothing to play for, so they could rest their starters. We'll monitor the Jets this week and let you know what their plans are.
News: Chances are Fantasy owners are long past the idea of considering Dustin Keller a good tight end for their teams. He hasn't scored more than five points in standard-scoring leagues since Week 6 and will take on a Bears defense that has allowed two touchdowns to tight ends all season, though it is worth noting that those touchdowns have come in the last four weeks against Rob Gronkowski and Brent Celek. No tight end has had more than 52 yards receiving against the Bears since Week 3.
Analysis: You're over starting Keller, aren't you? Sure, he plays a decent amount and could always break out, but the matchup is tough and he's been ignored in the Jets offense. Owners can do better than Keller in Week 16.
News: New York TE Dustin Keller was targeted five times, catching three passes for 19 yards in Week 15 against Pittsburgh. Keller now needs just one catch to surpass his career high of 48 set back in 2008. He hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 4, but the Jets did end their offensive drought on Sunday.
Analysis: Keller has nine catches for 80 yards over his last three games. He's taken a back seat to the receivers and the running game. Fantasy owners have given up on Keller and with the playoffs here, Keller doesn't hold much value. While he has two games to set a new career high in receptions, Fantasy owners shouldn't bank on him to chip in too much in their league. He's a low-end No. 2 TE option at best right now. New York faces Chicago in Week 16.
News: New York TE Dustin Keller needs just four catches to surpass his career high of 48 set back in 2008. The Jets offense has been struggling lately though as they've scored just nine points over the last two games. Keller hasn't been a big factor in those games as he has just six catches for 61 yards. He hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 4, so he'll try to end this scoreless drought versus the Steelers in Week 15 as well. Pittsburgh gives up 232.9 passing yards per game this year, a number the Jets haven't reached in the last three games. The Steelers are tough on opposing team's tight ends too -- giving up just 5.85 Fantasy points per outing to them.
Analysis: Keller and the Jets have their work cut out for them in Week 15. With a tough matchup and a struggling offense is not a good mix. Fantasy owners should be extremely weary to use Keller at this stage of the season. He's nothing but a low-end No. 2 tight end at best.
News: New York TE Dustin Keller's scoring drought continues after he failed to find the end zone in Week 14 against Miami. He hasn't scored since Week 4 against Buffalo. Keller was targeted a team-high 12 times on Sunday, catching three passes for 34 yards. New York's offense couldn't get going as they would lose again to an AFC East opponent -- 10-6.
Analysis: Keller had been averaging 87 receiving yards (174 total) against Miami over the teams' last two meetings. He was well under that average on Sunday. It's been seven games since Keller had more than 60 yards receiving in a game. Keller and the Jets face a tough Pittsburgh team in Week 15. The Steelers entered Week 14 allowing 239.3 passing yards per contest and are coming off a game where they dominated the Bengals. Fantasy owners should view Keller as a low-end TE option for Week 15.
News: Over the last two meetings New York TE Dustin Keller has averaged 87 receiving yards (174 total) against Miami. In those two games he has three touchdowns. He is looking for his third straight outing with a score when the Dolphins come to town in Week 14. The Dolphins have one of the better pass defenses in the league -- allowing just 201.2 passing yards per game. Miami has been giving up 5.33 Fantasy points per game to opposing team's tight ends.
Analysis: It's been six games since Keller has more than 60 receiving yards in a game and hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 4. He did have a productive outing back in Week 3 against Miami, but New York was without Santonio Holmes. Holmes is Mark Sanchez's favorite target, which is a reason Keller's Fantasy value has taken a hit. Owners should view Keller as a low-end No. 2 TE option for Week 14.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller was relatively quiet in Week 13 against the Patriots. Keller was targeted four times in the 45-3 loss, but finished with just three receptions for 27 yards. He averaged 9 yards per reception and had a long of 15 yards in the contest. Keller has not scored a touchdown in eight straight games.
Analysis: Keller delivered another unimpressive performance on Monday night , but then again, everybody on the Jets offense did. He has seen a dip in production ever since Santonio Holmes returned from his suspension and has only caught more than four passes in a game twice all season. Keller will look to get back on track in Week 14 against the Dolphins. He arguably had his best game of the season in the team's first meeting this season, racking up 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Maybe facing Miami is exactly what Keller needs to get back on track. Consider him a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE heading into that matchup.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller has not scored a touchdown in seven straight games but will look to bust out of that slump in Week 13 against the Patriots. When the division foes met earlier in the year, Keller caught seven passes for 115 yards and a score. New England enters Monday night ranked last in the league against the pass, giving up over 288 yards per game, and have allowed an average of 7.6 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Keller has seen his production go down ever since WR Santonio Holmes returned from suspension, but he has had success against the Patriots in the past. In five career games against New England, the 26-year-old has caught 22 passes for 281 yards with two touchdowns. Keller couldn't have a better matchup for Week 13 and he should have extra motivation as the winner of the game takes over the top spot in the AFC East. With the Patriots awful pass defense and his history against the division foe, consider Keller a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Monday night.
News: After catching two passes for just 7 yards last week, Jets TE Dustin Keller rebounded against the Bengals in Week 12 with four catches for 49 yards. He was targeted four times by QB Mark Sanchez. Keller broke a 21-yarder on Thursday night, his longest reception since Week 9.
Analysis: Keller was Sanchez' go-to-guy early in the season when Santonio Holmes was not on the field. He has since tailed off after Holmes came back from suspension but Thursday's effort points him in the right direction. Keller will look to continue on that path in Week 13 against the Patriots on Monday night. When the two teams met in Week 2, Keller had his best game of the season, racking up 115 yards receiving and adding a touchdown. He should be viewed as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE heading into the matchup.
News: Jets tight end Dustin Keller hopes to erase the memories of his worst performance of the season in Week 11 during the short turnaround for Week 12 against Cincinnati on Thanksgiving. Keller, who finished with season lows in receptions (two) and receiving yards (seven), was targeted just six times in the Jets' 30-27 victory last Sunday. After recording five touchdowns in the Jets' first four games this season -- the duration of star receiver Santonio Holmes' suspension -- Keller has since failed to reach the end zone. While quarterback Mark Sanchez has amassed at least 250 passing yards in the Jets' last four games, he has hardly connected with Keller. The tight end has just 11 receptions in those games and his highest yardage total was 59 against Detroit in Week 9.
Analysis: With receiver Jerricho Cotchery (groin) out for a second straight week, Sanchez could look Keller's way a few more times in Week 12 if Holmes or flanking receiver Braylon Edwards are covered. Cincinnati is allowing an average of 6.1 points per game to tight ends this season but a whopping 22.6 to wide receivers and will likely look to contain Sanchez's top targets. Once destined for a breakout year in his third season, Keller now represents a risky play especially since the Bengals have allowed just two scores to tight ends this season. Consider him a mid-range No. 2 Fantasy TE in Week 12.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller had a bad game Week 11 against the Texans. Keller caught just two of the six passes that came his way and totaled 7 yards. One of his first targets hit him right in the head as he failed to time the route correctly. The 7 yards were by far a season low.
Analysis: It appeared as though the matchup Week 11 was tailor made for Keller to have a big performance seeing how the Texans haven't matched up well against TEs this season. Sadly, Keller struggled and has gone six games without a touchdown. You also had to figure Keller was going to benefit with WR Jerricho Cotchery (groin) sidelined, but he did not. Now comes the short turnaround in Week 12 as New York plays the Bengals on Thanksgiving. Consider Keller at best a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 12.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller heads into Week 11 against the Texans without a touchdown in five straight games. The last time he scored was in Week 4 against the Bills, which capped a three-game stretch in which Keller had totaled five touchdowns. The Texans present a perfect opportunity for Keller to end his scoring slump. Houston is allowing TEs to average 12.7 Fantasy points per week, which is the highest in the NFL. Tight ends have scored seven times against Houston, including four times in the last three weeks. Keller totaled four catches for 94 yards against Houston last season.
Analysis: The last three tight ends to score against the Texans have been Jacob Tamme, Randy McMichael and the Jaguars' Zach Miller. Keller is probably better than all three of those players. Keller was more valuable to QB Mark Sanchez earlier in the season, but with the team able to find balance in the running game and the return of Santonio Holmes, Sanchez hasn't had to lean on his TE as much. That could change heading into Week 11 with Jerricho Cotchery sidelined by a groin injury. There are now more targets available for Keller, who is a nice Fantasy start with the favorable matchup in Week 11.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller had one of his least productive days of the season, but it wasn't for a lack of trying on the part of Mark Sanchez. The Jets' QB targeted Keller nine times, but only three of those passes resulted in receptions in the 26-20 overtime victory at Cleveland in Week 10. Keller finished with 25 receiving yards, which was his third-lowest total of the season. Only nine of those yards came during regulation.
Analysis: The Jets pass less often than most teams, and Sanchez has several reliable targets to choose from, so Keller is no sure thing to rebound in Week 11. However, he came into Week 10 as the second-ranking tight end in terms of Fantasy points. Given the lack of productive options at the position, Keller deserves to start every week, regardless of the matchup, and despite his underwhelming performance against the Browns.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller comes into Week 10 ranking fourth in the league among tight ends with 447 receiving yards and third with five touchdown receptions. He will go up against a Browns pass defense that is the eighth-worst in passing yardage allowed and sixth-worst in passing touchdowns allowed. Keller's production has been uneven this year, but his worst performances have come against Baltimore and Minnesota, two of the ten best pass defenses in the NFL.
Analysis: Keller hasn't scored in his last four games, and he hasn't caught more than four passes in any of those contests, but given the favorable matchup, he has a good chance to rebound in Week 10. Consider him a No. 1 Fantasy TE for this week.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller made some big catches down the stretch in the Week 9 come-from-behind win over the Lions in overtime. Keller went over the middle and hauled in some highlight-reel grabs to help the Jets overtake the Lions. That said, his numbers were mediocre as he finished with four catches for 59 yards in the game. He was targeted five times by Sanchez. His long grab went for 25 yards.
Analysis: Keller had five touchdowns in three games from Week 2 until Week 4. He has not scored since. Keller has gone for at least 45 yards in his last three games but he's definitely fallen off from the pace he was at earlier in the year. Sanchez is looking at other options more often with Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes and Jerricho Cotchery all playing well. The Jets aren't exactly a big-time passing offense and that is hurting Keller's value. The Jets play at Cleveland in Week 10 and the Browns have been solid against Fantasy tight ends this season. We still believe Keller is worth using as a No. 1 Fantasy TE, but that is more because of a lack of better options out there.
News: The New York Jets play the Lions in Detroit in Week 9 and tight end Dustin Keller might have a very tough day on Sunday. Keller will be facing a defense allowing the eighth-least average Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season. No tight end has topped 48 receiving yards against Detroit this season and the Lions have faced Chicago's Greg Olsen, Philadelphia's Brent Celek, Green Bay's Jermichael Finley and Washington's Chris Cooley. The Lions have allowed the position to score a grand total of two touchdowns all season.
Analysis: We're not telling you all those scary things about the Lions defense to shy you away from starting Keller. We just want Fantasy owners to temper expectations for the normal must-start Fantasy TE in Week 9 against a solid defense against tight ends. With that out of the way, we can continue telling you how great Keller has been. He has caught just five passes in his last two games, but they've still gone for 120 yards. For the season, Keller has 26 catches for 388 yards and five touchdowns and he's been the fifth-best Fantasy tight end in the NFL in terms of Fantasy points scored. Keller is the best tight end the Lions will have faced yet this season and we still trust him to be used as a No. 1 Fantasy TE in all leagues.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who scored five touchdowns in his first four games, went without one for the third straight game Week 8 against the Packers. He finished with only two catches for 45 yards, though one of those catches was a 40-yard strike late in the fourth quarter that gave the Jets a chance of getting back in the game. Keller was targeted six times, tied with Santonio Holmes for third on the team, but he did cause an interception when Charles Woodson ripped the ball out of his hands early in the fourth quarter.
Analysis: Jets QB Mark Sanchez threw for less than 200 yards in each of his previous two games, which explains why Keller didn't make much of a contribution, but he threw for 256 yards in this game. For whatever reason, he was more intent on getting the ball to his wide receivers -- particularly Jerricho Cotchery -- than his tight end. Keller remains one of the more gifted receiving tight ends in the league, so sooner or later, you have to think Sanchez will go back to what made him successful at the beginning of the season. With a good matchup Week 9 at Detroit, Keller should remain active as a No. 1 Fantasy TE.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who has gone without a touchdown in his last two games after scoring five in his first four, will look to get back in the end zone Week 8 against the Packers. His chances will be better if QB Mark Sanchez returns to form. During those two games in which Keller didn't score a touchdown, Sanchez completed 51.4 percent of his passes and was intercepted twice, averaging 194.5 yards. Unfortunately, the Jets are facing a Packers defense that has thrived against the pass, recording 22 sacks -- third in the NFL -- and 10 interceptions. They've allowed only eight touchdown passes.
Analysis: Based on the matchup and Sanchez's recent struggles, the Jets are more likely to run than pass against the Packers on Sunday, but the Packers' heavy pass rush could actually work to Keller's advantage. On the occasions Sanchez has to pass, the tight end could be an ideal target underneath. Any tight end with five touchdowns at this point in the season is a must-start in Fantasy, so keep Keller active even though his performance has been inconsistent of late.
News: The Newark Star-Ledger reports that Jets TE Dustin Keller was able to practice Monday, which was New York's first practice following their bye in Week 7. During the bye week, there was a report that Keller underwent an MRI for his wrist.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Keller's status heading into Week 8 against Green Bay, but we expect Keller to play against the Packers. Keller has 24 receptions for 343 with five touchdowns on the season and should be considered a No. 1 Fantasy option in all leagues as long as he's 100 percent to play.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who had three catches for 75 yards in Week 6 against the Broncos, came up holding his wrist after making a tackle on one of Mark Sanchez's interceptions. Although he finished the game, it was still bothering him on Monday and he will most likely have an MRI at some point.
Analysis: Keller and the Jets have a bye in Week 7, so they can rest and prepare for the Packers in Week 8. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his status moving forward, but the injury doesn't seem too serious. Keller has 24 receptions for 343 with five touchdowns through his first six games and should be viewed as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 8.
News: New York TE Dustin Keller led the team in receiving in Week 6. The Jets played the Broncos on a short week and in Mile High. Keller was targeted six times, catching three passes for 75 yards. Keller was also called for an offensive pass interference -- a penalty that was called three times in the game, twice on the Jets. Denver has been getting burned by tight ends this year, and Keller was no exception. They had been allowing 54 yards per contest to opposing teams' TEs. Keller now has 343 yards on the year.
Analysis: Keller and the Jets have a bye in Week 7, so they can rest and prepare for the Packers in Week 8. Green Bay has been allowing 212.4 yards through the air, entering Week 6. The Jets will continue to use their running game to keep winning, but Keller is Mark Sanchez's safety valve. Despite having a career year for the Jets, Keller should be viewed as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 8.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller is coming off his second worst game of the season in Week 5 as he caught just two passes for 14 yards. The only game he had that was worse was in the Jets' Week 1 loss to the Ravens. Denver is allowing 54 yards per game to tight ends this year, but haven't allowed a tight end to score since Week 1. Keller is having a career year as he has 268 receiving yards and five touchdowns through five games. In his lone game against the Broncos (back in 2008), Keller grabbed seven passes for 77 yards.
Analysis: The Jets did get the win in Week 5, but when Keller plays well, so do the Jets. Denver has been allowing 213.8 yards per game through the air, but will be without safeties Brian Dawkins and Darcel McBath in Week 6, which makes their defense a bit vulnerable in the secondary. If the Jets can get the running game going early, Mark Sanchez could find Keller often, exploiting the secondary. We view Keller as a No. 1 Fantasy TE in Week 6.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller was relatively quiet in Week 5 against the Vikings. On a stormy night in New Jersey, Keller had just two catches for 14 yards. He was targeted five times and had a long of 8 yards, but did not score in the 29-20 win.
Analysis: The Vikings have done a great job of shutting down opposing tight ends this season and Monday was no different. Combine that with the unfavorable weather conditions and a 14 yards performance is what you get. Fantasy owners need not worry however, as Keller and the Jets should be able to pass the ball with a little more ease in Week 6 at Denver. The Broncos will be without a few key pieces of their defense for Sunday's game. Safety Brian Dawkins and his backup Darcel McBath have been ruled out for this week's game along with starting cornerback Andre' Goodman. Consider Keller a No. 1 Fantasy TE heading into Week 6.
News: TE Dustin Keller has been a standout for the Jets and Fantasy owners the last three weeks. Keller has five scores in his last three games and has at least 14 Fantasy points in three straight games. He looks to keep the momentum going into Week 5 against the Vikings. Although, Minnesota has shut down TEs in 2010. Opposing TEs have scored just once against Minnesota this season, while racking up 18 catches for 130 yards.
Analysis: Outside of his two scores in Week 4 against the Bills, Keller managed just four catches for 28 yards. He might not put up big yards every week, but the fact Keller remains a red zone threat is key for Fantasy owners. Keller has caught four of his seven red zone targets for touchdowns, which is tied for the most among TEs with Antonio Gates. The Vikings are a tough matchup, but with the hot streak Keller has been on, he can't be considered anything but a No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 5.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller didn't get too many chances to display his immense athletic ability against a defense that usually struggles against mobile tight ends Week 4. Keller only managed four catches for 28 yards against the Bills. Of course, two of those grabs resulted in touchdowns. Keller actually recorded two touchdowns in less than two minutes time in the third quarter. Brad Smith took a direct snap and threw the ball to Keller for a 3-yard TD that was followed shortly later by a 2-yard TD pass to Keller from QB Mark Sanchez. Keller was targeted six times in the game.
Analysis: Keller only managed two catches for 13 yards Week 1 against the Ravens. In his three games since, he's caught 17 passes for 241 yards and five touchdowns. With five touchdowns in his last three games, Keller becomes a tight end to target in all Fantasy leagues. He's quickly becoming an elite Fantasy TE option and should be active as a No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 5 against Minnesota in New York.
News:Dustin Keller and Mark Sanchez watch film of the NFL's top tight end-quarterback combinations -- now the Jets might be developing a big-time connection of their own. The speedy and sure-handed tight end is off to an outstanding start, ranking fourth in the NFL among players at his position with 15 receptions. But, it's what he's done in New York's last two games that has everyone excited. Keller has 13 catches for 213 yards and three touchdowns while establishing himself as Sanchez's favorite target. He's become so significant that even opposing coaches are getting jittery. "He's one of our biggest concerns," Bills coach Chan Gailey said. "When he goes in the game, you better know where he is and what his role is, and that role continues to grow as time goes on. So, we just have to make sure we pay attention to where he's at and what he's doing."
Analysis: The Bills, who host the Jets Week 4, definitely have a matchup nightmare on their hands. Buffalo has been among the worst defenses at stopping tight ends this season. Green Bay's Jermichael Finley torched them for 103 yards on just four catches Week 2 and Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez combined for nine catches for 108 yards and a touchdown last week. Keller, who is among the most targeted tight ends in the NFL, doesn't have a great history against the Bills. Last year in Buffalo he caught one pass for 5 yards. That said, he's never been a bigger part of the Jets offense and he's facing a team that is going to leave him open in space. Keller has been one of the most added players in Fantasy and that is for good reason. He is definitely a No. 1 Fantasy TE heading into Week 4 at Buffalo.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who after a disappointing Week 1 against Baltimore has absolutely gone off with 13 catches for 213 yards and three touchdowns in his last two games, could be in for his best week yet Week 4 in Buffalo. As offensive tackle Damien Woody put it, "Dustin's just a matchup nightmare because he's a hybrid guy." The Bills, who host the Jets Week 4, definitely have a matchup nightmare on their hands.
Analysis: Keller is that tight end who can out-muscle or outrun any defender the opposition puts on him. He is athletic and can run with the ball after the catch. The Bills have consistently been victimized by that type of player this season.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who had seven catches for 115 yards and a touchdown Week 2 against the Patriots, remained QB Mark Sanchez's go-to guy in the first half Week 3 at Miami, catching six passes for 98 yards and two scores. He grabbed a 24-yard pass from Sanchez in the front corner of the end zone in the first quarter and took a short pass over the middle 12 yards for the score in the second. But Sanchez suddenly cooled on him in the second half, failing to complete a pass to him on only two targets. Jets coach Rex Ryan said Keller is "such a weapon" and a "nightmare to cover." And Keller said in an interview with CBSSports.com that Fantasy owners should definitely be aware of him. "I'm sure plenty of people dropped me after that first game," Keller said about his performance against the Ravens with two catches for 13 yards. "I bet they want me now."
Analysis: WR Braylon Edwards became Sanchez's favorite target in the second half, pushing Keller to the back burner. Still, you should be encouraged by Keller's performance against a tough Dolphins defense. He had good chemistry with Sanchez, and the Jets were clearly trying to take advantage of it by opening up their passing game early. And he wasn't just a safety valve for Sanchez underneath; he looked like a wide receiver at times. Keller clearly has the ability to serve as a No. 1 Fantasy TE. Whether or not he gets there depends on the development of the Jets offense. With a good matchup at Buffalo in Week 4, he certainly deserves the benefit of the doubt and should be considered a starting option.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who broke through with seven catches for a career-high 115 yards and a touchdown Week 2 against the Patriots, thinks he'll be facing similar competition Week 3 at Miami. "They have their similarities," he said. "High-tempo defenses. They're young in the secondary." If those similarities lead to similar results, he should be in good shape. His best game last year came against the Dolphins in Week 8, when he had eight catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. Still, the Dolphins defense has looked much stronger this year, allowing a total of 20 points -- tied with Pittsburgh for the NFL low -- and the fifth-fewest total yards.
Analysis: In a way, the tough matchup might work in Keller's favor because it'll force QB Mark Sanchez to get rid of the ball quicker. If that happens, an inexperienced quarterback such as himself might feel more comfortable throwing the ball underneath to his tight end. Considering Keller's past inconsistencies, he's a little hard to trust as a No. 1 Fantasy TE, but if you've gotten burned at the position so far, he might be your best choice.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller has always had success against the Patriots and continued that trend in Week 2. He caught seven passes for 115 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown pass from Mark Sanchez on fourth and goal. He was targeted nine times in the win, more than any player on his team, and averaged 16.4 yards per carry with a long of 39. In five career games against New England, the 25-year-old has caught 22 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns.
Analysis: Keller was definitely Sanchez's go-to guy on Sunday and showed what an excellent pass-catching tight end can do four a young quarterback. After a slow Week 1 in which he had just two receptions for 13 yards, the former Boilermaker put on a display against the Patriots. He faces a Dolphins defense in Week 3 that gave up 225 passing yards in their matchup with the Vikings. Fantasy owners should continue to view Keller as a No. 1 option in most leagues.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller had just two receptions for 13 yards and was targeted five times in Week 1 against the Ravens but has some success against his upcoming opponent. In four career games against the Patriots, the 25-year-old has caught 15 passes for 166 yards and one touchdown.
Analysis: Keller had a rough opener but can put that all behind him with a solid Week 2. He is no stranger to the Patriots and has averaged over 10 yards per reception against them. He looked lost as he ran out of bounds one yard short of the first down in Week 1 but Fantasy owners should remember that it came right after he had his clock cleaned by a vicious hit from Ray Lewis. Keller is still one of QB Mark Sanchez's favorite targets and should be considered a low-end No. 1 TE heading into Week 2.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller had a very forgettable Week 1 against the Ravens. Keller had just two receptions for 13 yards and was targeted five times by Mark Sanchez. On the Jets final drive in the fourth quarter Keller had a few plays he would like to have back. He appeared to make his second catch of the night on a short pass over the middle, but was separated from the ball on a vicious hit by Ray Lewis. Then two plays later on fourth down, Keller caught a pass from Sanchez, but ran out of bounds a yard short of the first down.
Analysis: Keller did not have a good game on Monday, but then again no one on the Jets' offense did. His catch at the end of game was short of a first down, but Keller said he misjudged the route. The Jets only had three active receivers for Monday's game, so Fantasy owners were expected a better result. Hopefully, Keller and the Jets' offense can regroup and have a better showing when they take on the Patriots in Week 2. Keller is still one of Sanchez's favorite targets and should be considered a low-end TE heading into Week 2.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller will face off against the Ravens in Week 1, but their stout defense will be without the likes of All-Pro S Ed Reed and CB Domonique Foxworth. Keller caught seven passes in the preseason for 65 yards and a touchdown. Baltimore still brings back its solid front seven but Keller will be one of few options on the field as New York will only have three wide receivers active for Monday nights game.
Analysis: Keller saw his numbers go down last season but should have a few more balls thrown his way with Santonio Holmes out for the first four weeks. He has become the safety blanket for sophomore QB Mark Sanchez and works well in space. Another 40-catch, 500-yard year from the former Boilermaker is likely so Fantasy owners should consider Keller a low-end No. 1 tight end for larger leagues or a very solid No. 2 for Week 1.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught a team-high five passes for 46 yards, including a touchdown in Friday's preseason game against the Redskins. He was targeted six times in the game as the Jets kept most of their starters in the game until early in the fourth quarter.
Analysis: The Jets have struggled on offense throughout the preseason and they did once again through much of their "dress rehearsal" game against the Redskins. But where Mark Sanchez seemed to have the most success was finding Keller up the middle. That's a good sign for Keller going into the season. We expect Keller to continue to be a safety valve for the young QB and we view him as a 40-catch, 500-yard threat. That makes him a low-end No. 1 tight end for larger leagues or a very solid No. 2.
News:Dustin Keller lined up as the Jets' starting tight end for Monday's preseason opener against the Giants. His only targets of the game came on the Jets' second drive in the first quarter. He was targeted four times, but one was negated due to a Giants penalty. Keller caught two of the official three passes thrown his way for 19 yards.
Analysis: One of the more interesting storylines developing with the Jets this season is the progression of second-year QB Mark Sanchez. He has a ton of quality receivers, including Keller, and could be ready to improve on his paltry passing numbers from 2009. Still, the Jets have a solid running game and coach Rex Ryan is all about ball control as a defensive-minded coach. Keller is still a 40-catch, 500-yard threat, but the Jets might still opt to run the ball more than throw it in the red zone. Consider Keller more of a No. 2 Fantasy TE on Draft Day.
News: The New York Daily News reports that Jets TE Dustin Keller could see his role significantly expand this season with the addition of Santonio Holmes to an already talented receiving corps of Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery. That should create opportunities for Keller to thrive against single coverage. "Teams are scheming to double team guys like Braylon, Santonio and Jerricho every time," Keller said. "That'll leave things wide open for me. It just makes it easier for me because I'll be one-on-one against a safety or linebacker. I've yet to find a linebacker that's that great of a cover guy. I think it definitely could benefit me big time. But time will tell." The report says Jets coach Rex Ryan went so far as to predict Keller could be a Fantasy Football steal this season. "I think he will get more touchdowns," Ryan said. "It should open things up. Playing tight end, it's hard to cover those guys, just like with Dallas Clark in Indianapolis. You have to pay so much attention to those three receivers that sometimes you have to isolate a safety or a linebacker on him and that's to his advantage. I think Dustin can give us the same kind of mismatch. That's what youre hoping for."
Analysis: Keller scored more touchdowns (three) in three playoff games than he did (two) in 16 regular-season games. He finished last year with 45 catches for 522 yards, but those stats should improve. We like Keller as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE, and he's worth a late-round pick in all leagues. We hope that Ryan's prediction will come true.
News: With the Jets' acquisition of WR Santonio Holmes from the Steelers, expectations are that third-year tight end Dustin Keller will benefit the most from everyone in Gang Green. That's because Holmes' presence will stretch safeties from paying close attention to Keller, giving him some open-field opportunities when the Jets choose to throw the ball.
Analysis: Keller ended the 2009 postseason with a bang and has shown potential to be a quality Fantasy option. We think he's best served as a top-end No. 2 choice, worth pairing with a shaky low-end No. 1 TE on Draft Day (Greg Olsen, Chris Cooley) and platooning throughout the season. There is some upside here, especially now that Holmes can draw coverage away.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller continually got open for QB Mark Sanchez on Sunday in the AFC Championship game, at least in the first half. Keller finished the game with a team-high six receptions, including a 9-yard TD catch in the 2nd quarter. He finished with a total of 63 receiving yards.
Analysis: Keller found the end zone in all three of the Jets' playoff games after managing just two for the entire regular season. He definitely proved to be one of Sanchez's best weapons late in the season and should enter 2010 as a clear-cut No. 1 Fantasy TE.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Mark Sanchez three plays into the fourth quarter to lift the Jets to a 17-14 victory over San Diego. Keller caught three passes for 19 yards.
Analysis: Keller has been a huge asset for the Jets during their playoff run. He has caught a touchdown in each playoff game and has been a good safety blanket for rookie QB Mark Sanchez. Seeing that the Jets have used Sanchez in roll out type plays to keep the defense honest, Keller could make for a good Playoff Challenge TE because he will have the ability to find the endzone.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller went off for 99 yards and a touchdown on three catches in Saturday's Wild Card win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Keller didn't manage 99 yards once in the regular season, but he got loose for two monster grabs on Saturday and racked up points in Playoff Challenge. He likely won't have another game like this for a while and will head into 2010 as just a low-end Fantasy TE in deeper leagues.
News: Jets TE Dusitn Keller had a rough outing on Sunday in a Week 17 blowout win over the Bengals. He caught only one pass in the game, gaining a total of 9 yards.
Analysis: Keller finishes off a disappointing campaign with 45 receptions and 522 yards, scoring two touchdowns. Jets QB Mark Sanchez struggled for much of his rookie season and Keller's production suffered as a result. He should be considered just a low-end Fantasy TE on Draft Day in 2010.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller totaled three catches for 19 yards during a Week 16 win against the Colts. He didn't score, but he converted a two-point conversion in the third quarter. Keller was targeted four times in the game.
Analysis: Keller has eight catches for 60 yards and no scores in his last four games. His play has really tanked off as quarterback Mark Sanchez has hit a wall late in his rookie season. Keller is nothing more than a No. 2 Fantasy TE in Week 17 against the Bengals.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught three passes for 33 yards in a Week 15 loss to Atlanta.
Analysis: Keller has been simply awful over the last three games and it would take a brave owner to start him in Week 16 at Indianapolis.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller managed just one catch for the second straight week in the Week 14 win over the Bucs. Keller went for 3 yards in the win for the Jets.
Analysis: Keller has seen just two touches in his last two weeks with Mark Sanchez hurting for the Jets. He hasnt scored since Week 8 and only has two TDs on the entire season. The team has only so many passing yards it can feed to Keller, Jerricho Cotchery and Braylon Edwards, so you have to expect Keller to disappear from time to time. Still, he has enough ability to serve as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 15 against Atlantas poor defense.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who entered the game averaging 60 receiving yards over his last four, had just 5 on one reception Week 13 at Buffalo. He had averaged 5.3 receptions over that same four-game stretch.
Analysis: Keller had just started to become a consistent part of the Jets' passing game, which isn't saying much since the Jets run such a conservative offense. The team has only so many passing yards it can feed to Keller, Jerricho Cotchery and Braylon Edwards, so you have to expect Keller to disappear from time to time. Still, he has enough ability to serve as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE at Tampa Bay in Week 14.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller had four catches for 68 yards, but he also lost a fumble Sunday against Carolina. The fumble came when Keller was trying to extend the ball into the end zone, but he lost the ball before he was able to score.
Analysis: Keller remains a No. 2 Fantasy TE. He does have a good matchup at Buffalo in Week 13 on Thursday night, but he only had two catches for 19 yards against the Bills earlier this year.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller totaled three catches for 38 yards during a Week 11 loss to the Patriots. Keller's longest catch went 21 yards and he was targeted four times. He is up to 32 catches for 385 yards in 10 games.
Analysis: Keller came into Week 11 with 14 catches for 134 yards and one touchdown in his last two games. It appeared he was quickly becoming a steady Fantasy option, and then he goes and has a so-so outing. It definitely happens a lot with tight ends, but even more so at times when a rookie quarterback is under center -- like in New York. View Keller as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 12 against the Panthers. Carolina has a top 5 pass defense.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught six passes for 58 yards in a Week 10 loss to the Jaguars.
Analysis: Keller now has 14 catches in his last two games, a total only one fewer than he had in his first seven games this season. It looks like Mark Sanchez is finally learning to throw to his TE, so get Keller active as a low-end No. 1 TE in most formats for Week 11 at New England.
News: The Jets host the Jaguars in Week 10 and TE Dustin Keller will be looking to build on his best outing of the season. Keller went for 76 yards and a touchdown in Week 8. Jacksonville ranks 26th against the pass.
Analysis: Keller's owners will be hoping Mark Sanchez is finally learning to throw to his TE, but we'll have to see a larger sample size before recommending Keller as anything more than a low-end No. 1 Fantasy option.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught eight passes for 76 yards and a touchdown in a Week 8 loss to Miami.
Analysis: Keller had done a whole lot of nothing since Week 1 until this stellar outing on Sunday, but don't get too excited just yet. The Dolphins have trouble covering tight ends more than most teams, so this outing might just be a one-off thing. Pick him up off the wire if you need TE help, but you won't be able to use him in Week 9 as the Jets are off.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught just one pass for 26 yards during a Week 7 win against the Raiders. He was targeted four times in the game. Keller has two or fewer catches in three straight games.
Analysis: Keller is really missing quarterback Brett Favre, who is now in Minnesota. Favre loved throwing to his tight ends and Keller was able to have a standout rookie season because of it in 2008. Now that rookie Mark Sanchez is under center, the Jets' passing game isn't as efficient and Keller's numbers are all over the place. He is pretty much a No. 2 Fantasy TE heading into Week 8 against the Dolphins. Keller had no catches in Week 5 against Miami.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller had another insignificant performance against the Bills in Week 6. He caught two passes for 16 yards. He had four catches for 94 yards in the season opener and has averaged 18.6 yards in five games since.
Analysis: Keller made a big impression with Brett Favre at quarterback last year and was looking like a potential breakout candidate early this year. But as rookie QB Mark Sanchez has struggled, so has Keller. And until the Jets develop a more consistent passing game, that doesn't figure to change. Keller is still worth stashing in some leagues because of his upside, but he's no longer a No. 1 TE in Fantasy, not even at Oakland in Week 7.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller did not start the Monday night game against the Dolphins in Miami in Week 5. He was expected to be a solid play in the Jets' loss but saw action without making a single catch and was targeted just once in the game.
Analysis: Keller has been a bit of a disappointment this season, as many Fantasy owners expected rookie QB Mark Sanchez to look Keller's way while he got his feet wet in the NFL. Unfortunately that hasn't been the case and now it appears that job will go to Braylon Edwards. Something may be amiss as we expected him to have a great game against the Dolphins in Week 5. You should definitely monitor his status throughout the week of practice but continue to think of him as a solid Fantasy play in Week 6 against a porous Bills' defense.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who has averaged just three catches a game so far this season, could be in line for a great Week 5 when New York visits Miami. The Dolphins gave up 73 yards and a score to Tony Gonzalez in Week 1, 183 yards and a touchdown to Dallas Clark in Week 2 and 64 yards to Antonio Gates in Week 3.
Analysis: Keller has been a bit of a disappointment this season, as many Fantasy owners expected rookie TE Mark Sanchez to look Keller's way while he got his feet wet in the NFL. Unfortunately that hasn't been the case, but things are looking up for Keller with this tasty matchup in Week 5, so get him active in deeper leagues as a sleeper low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE.
News: The Jets traded for WR Braylon Edwards on Wednesday, giving the team another solid receiving option. This might not bode well for TE Dustin Keller, who has already struggled over his last two games. Keller has 12 catches for 171 yards and a touchdown this season, but he's had just five catches for 55 yards over the last two weeks.
Analysis: Sharing the field with Edwards and WR Jerricho Cotchery won't matter to opposing defenses because they'll cover Keller the same way, with a safety. But QB Mark Sanchez will definitely spread the ball around and won't hone in on one or two options like he might have before this trade went down. Expect Keller's stats to be limited once Edwards get acclimated with the Jets' offense. That won't be this week, though, so consider Keller a solid starting option against a Bills defense thin on talent in its secondary.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who averaged only 23 receiving yards over his previous two games, had 31 on three receptions Week 4 at New Orleans. He has 71 yards in three games since having 94 in Week 1.
Analysis: Keller looked like a breakthrough Fantasy TE at the beginning of the season, but he has disappeared lately as the Jets haven't had to lean on rookie QB Mark Sanchez as much. Jerricho Cotchery is clearly the go-to guy in the passing game, and while Keller is probably next in line, the Jets often don't have enough passing yards to go around. Keller is still a No. 1 Fantasy TE, but he's more of a low-end option for Week 5 at Miami.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller will face a non-division opponent in Week 4 at New Orleans. The Saints have allowed 245.3 net passing yards per game and three passing touchdowns through the first three weeks of the season. The Saints allowed Bills TE Derek Fine to catch five passes for 34 yards in Week 3. They allowed Eagles TE Brent Celek to catch eight passes for 104 yards in Week 2.
Analysis: The Saints have not defended against tight ends very well early on in the season and Keller could find some holes up the middle of the field to put together a useful stat line in Week 4. We project him for four catches, 59 yards and a touchdown and recommend him as a low-end No. 1 option.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller had a disappointing game Week 3 against the Titans. He made only two catches in the contest for a total of 24 yards. His longest catch of the day went for 18 yards.
Analysis: Keller had a great history at the Jets coming into this game but was not able to get much going Week 3. He is one of the better receiving tight ends in the league and has a good matchup coming up with the Saints Week 4. Think of him as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE for that game, which should be a shootout.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller played against his Week 3 opponents, the Titans, once last season, his rookie year. Keller caught six passes for 42 yards at Tennessee last season and four of his six receptions went for first downs. Keller has seven catches thus far in 2009 for 116 yards and a touchdown and is averaging 16.6 yards per catch.
Analysis: Keller has the past, present and future on his side for another solid game Week 3 against the Titans. We like him as a solid No. 1 Fantasy option against a team that ranks worst in the NFL against the pass after two weeks.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught three passes for 22 yards, including the go-ahead, third-quarter touchdown, as New York defeated the Patriots in Week 2.
Analysis: Keller got it done with yardage in Week 1 and by scoring in Week 2, so his owners will be very happy with his production so far in 2009. The Jets host the Titans in Week 3, and Keller could be a very nice low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE option with that matchup, as Tennessee has been easy to pass on so far this season.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught eight passes for 87 yards the last time he played against the New England Patriots, his Week 2 opponents. Keller did that as a rookie in New England last season, though he only made one catch for 19 yards in the first game against them. Keller is coming off a very solid Week 1 against Houston in which he caught four passes and led all Jets receivers with 94 yards.
Analysis: Keller has history -- both recent and last season against the Patriots -- on his side for Week 2's matchup. We like him as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 2 at home against New England. The one downside to this matchup is rookie QB Mark Sanchez, whom the Patriots would love to tee off against.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught four passes for 94 yards in Week 1 at Houston. He led all Jets receivers in yardage.
Analysis: Keller looked like a favorite target for rookie QB Mark Sanchez, who showed he can be a solid QB despite being a rookie in the opener. Keller led the team in receiving in the preseason and has developed a good rapport with the rookie. Consider him a viable tight end in any format for his next game in Week 2 against New England.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller (toe) was listed as active for Week 1 at Houston. He was considered probable going into the game.
Analysis: Watch out for Keller this season. Playing with the first-team offense all preseason long, he finished with a team-high nine catches for 119 yards (13.2 avg.), finishing the exhibition season with 44 yards on three grabs. He is a safe play for Week 1.
News: Watch out for Jets TE Dustin Keller this season. Playing with the first-team offense all preseason long, he finished with a team-high nine catches for 119 yards (13.2 avg.), finishing the exhibition season with 44 yards on three grabs.
Analysis: Keller is one of our favorite sleeper tight ends this season. He's gone in the second-half of drafts but will produce close to an elite level thanks to the lack of receiving talent with the Jets and his own excellent abilities. Having rookie QB Mark Sanchez, who has progressed smoothly, won't hurt either. Consider him a No. 1 option that you can probably snare after the first five or six tight ends are off the boards in drafts.
News: In an interview with CBSSports.com, Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said that second-year TE Dustin Keller only showed part of his potential as a rookie. The coach noted that Keller's been working on other parts of his game, including blocking and adding strength. It doesn't sound like much, but it's stuff that could keep him on the field for all three downs. "I think everybody realized the problems he can create for people in the passing game and that's how we used him a lot last year," Schottenheimer said. "Basically he's made improvements this offseason, he's becoming a more complete tight end. Dustin is a guy that gets a bad rap for not being able to block just because he's not 275 pounds, but he's been working really hard in the weight room adding some strength. He's been doing a great job working with Mike Devlin, our tight ends coach, in terms of improving his fundamentals and techniques at the point of attack in the running game. His ability to stay in the game more and to be utilized on almost all downs will give him more opportunities to make plays and his development into a complete tight end is something that we're closely watching and are very excited about."
Analysis:You can read more from our interview with coach Schottenheimer here. Keller was a dandy in 2008, finishing with 48 catches for 535 yards (11.1 avg.) and three touchdowns. With Laveranues Coles gone and the offense thin on quality receiving talent, he could be in line to act as a No. 2 receiver and catapult his stats to the level of the elite Fantasy tight ends. Anything he can do to stay on the field longer will go a long way in that regard. Stay grounded with him, but he does have the potential to finish the year as a Top-5 TE, especially after another polished offseason. Consider him with a middle-round pick as a No. 1 Fantasy TE in drafts.
News: The Daily News reports Thursday that Jets TE Dustin Keller had an exceptional day, getting deep on a couple of seam routes. The paper reports Keller is the only pass catcher among the TEs and WRs who poses a serious matchup problem for opponents. LB Bart Scott says Keller has the potential to be a Top 5 TE.
Analysis: Like Scott, we like Keller a lot also, especially with a lack of talent at the WR spot and with a potential rookie QB in Mark Sanchez. Consider Keller a No. 1 Fantasy option and plan on drafting him around Round 8 or 9 in all leagues.
News: The New York Jets have selected QB Mark Sanchez with the fifth pick of the NFL draft after trading with the Cleveland Browns. The former USC star with the powerful arm gives the Jets a franchise QB after Brett Favre came out of retirement for one season. The pick was the first for new coach Rex Ryan, who will have Sanchez compete with Kellen Clemens for the starting job. Sanchez threw for 3,965 yards and 41 touchdowns in 16 starts with the Trojans, but the Jets were confident in selecting him despite his lack of experience. The Jets acquired the pick from Cleveland and former coach Eric Mangini for their first-round pick, No. 17 overall, their second-round pick this year, and DE Kenyon Coleman, DB Abram Elam and QB Brett Ratliff.
Analysis: Sanchez will now have the chance to compete for the starting job, and how he does will decide the Fantasy value for WR Jerricho Cotchery and TE Dustin Keller. Cotchery will now be considered a No. 2 Fantasy WR since he assumes the No. 1 spot with Laveranues Coles gone, and Keller remains a No. 1 Fantasy TE based on his rookie season. Still, it all comes down to how Sanchez does if he can win the job ahead of Clemens.
News: With the club's recent release of TE Chris Baker, Dustin Keller should be the Jets' No. 1 tight end in 2009.
Analysis: Keller finished 2008 with 48 catches for 535 yards (11.1 avg.) and three touchdowns. He should improve on those totals in 2009, especially if the Jets go young at the quarterback position vacated by Brett Favre's retirement. Consider Keller a nice low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE who could be had fairly late in 2009 drafts.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught two passes for 24 yards in a Week 17 loss to Miami.
Analysis: Keller had a couple of nice weeks in 2008, but his numbers took a dive once Brett Favre started to struggle. He'll be drafted in 2009, but maybe not as high as once thought. Consider him a nice No. 2 option with the potential to be much more.
News: Jets TE made only one catch in Week 16 at snowy Seattle for two yards. It was the first time since October 19 at Oakland that he had one or fewer catches in a game. Keller has not found the end zone in the last six games.
Analysis: The Jets take on the Dolphins Week 17 in a must-win game. Keller did not record a stat in the first game of the season at Miami, but that was before he was a verified starter in the league. He's a No. 2 Fantasy tight end for that tilt against Miami.
News: Jets Te Dustin Keller caught three passes for 35 yards against the Bills in a win in Week 15. Keller made a long grab of 20 yards. He hasn't scored a touchdown in five straight weeks for the Jets since catching six passes for 107 yards against the Rams on Nov. 9.
Analysis: Keller, a rookie, has become one of QB Brett Favre's favorite targets in recent weeks, but Favre has been struggling and that continued even in victory in Week 15. Keller is really only considered a high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 16 at Seattle since he only has five catches over his last two contests. He had over five grabs in each of his previous four games before this current downtrend.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, averaging 78.3 yards receiving over his last four games, had only two catches for 14 yards Week 14 at San Francisco.
Analysis: Keller, a rookie, has become one of QB Brett Favre's favorite targets in recent weeks, but Favre had a season-low 137 yard passing in this game. Obviously, he stands to rebound to at least some degree Week 15 against the Bills, so continue to think of him as a No. 1 Fantasy option. He had two catches for 19 yards Week 9 against the Bills, before he had really emerged as a top Fantasy option.
News: According to The Sports Xchange, rookie TE Dustin Keller has hit his stride, with 27 receptions in the last four games. "I feel good," he said with a smile Wednesday. "No signs of the wall coming anytime soon."
Analysis: Keller has become one of Favre's favorite receiving targets this season and his Fantasy value is rising. With a favorable match-up in Week 14 against the 49ers, you have to get Keller active in your lineup.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught a team high seven passes for 77 yards in Week 13 against the Chiefs. His longest gain was 20 yards.
Analysis: Keller was targeted 13 times in the game and he has become a favorite receiver for Brett Favre. He has had at least six catches in four straight games and has managed 75 or more yards in three of those four contests. As long as Favre continues to favor him, consider him a viable option in leagues of 12-plus teams that require a tight end. The Jets face the 49ers in San Francisco in Week 14.
News: New York Jets TE Dustin Keller caught six passes for 42 yards in Week 12's win over the previously unbeaten Titans.
Analysis: Keller is playing amazingly lately in his rookie season. Keller has at least six catches in three straight weeks with a touchdown grab during that span. He's hot and he's developed into Brett Favre's favorite option. With the Broncos heading into New York in Week 13, consider Keller a must-start against the Broncos terrible defense.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller has garnered the attention of QB Brett Favre in recent weeks, which never hurts. In his last two games, Keller has 14 catches for 194 yards and a touchdown. This week, Keller and the Jets play at Tennessee, and while the Titans are ranked sixth vs. the pass with only five receiving touchdowns allowed, they have struggled with limiting tight ends.
Analysis: Expect the athletic Keller to continue being involved in the Jets' offense, making him good enough to start as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE and a potential red-zone target for Brett Favre to throw at.
News: Jets rookie TE Dustin Keller came up huge in overtime as New York defeated the Patriots on Thursday night in Week 11. Keller caught three passes in the extra frame and totaled eight receptions for 87 yards to tie Jerricho Cotchery for the team lead.
Analysis: Keller now has 14 catches for 194 yards and a touchdown over his last two games for the Jets. He's emerged as the team's No. 1 TE option and one of the better receiving options, period. He continues to break out in his rookie season and can now be started each and every week in Fantasy. The Jets are at Tennessee in Week 12 and Keller should be active unless you have one of the elite TEs on your roster.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller, who entered Sunday with 13 catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns on the entire season in eight games, caught six passes in Week 10 alone. Keller was QB Brett Favre's favorite target in a 47-3 win over the Rams as he totaled 107 yards and a touchdown. The score came on a 1-yard pass from Favre in the 2nd quarter.
Analysis: This was a breakout game for Keller. We've been high on the young TE all season and it paid off huge for the 11 percent of Fantasy owners who started him against the Rams terrible defense. He's getting a few catches every game lately and should officially be someone to consider starting in Fantasy every week. The Jets play at New England in Week 10 and Keller deserves another shot at starting in Fantasy.
News: New York Jets TE Dustin Keller caught two passes for 19 yards in Week 9's win over the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo. Keller connected with Brett Favre for a long of 15 yards.
Analysis: Keller actually caught four passes for 38 yards in Week 8 against the Chiefs and that was one of his best statistical performance of the year. He's got two touchdowns on the season and has 13 catches. As the team's backup tight end, he probably doesn't deserve a roster spot in 29 percent of Fantasy leagues anymore. Go ahead and cut him. The Jets meet the Rams in Week 10.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught four passes for 38 yards in Week 8's win over Kansas City. His long went for 23 yards from QB Brett Favre.
Analysis: Keller had one decent week but has struggled ever since. As the team's backup tight end, he probably doesn't deserve a roster spot in 35 percent of Fantasy leagues anymore. Go ahead and cut him. The Jets travel to Buffalo in Week 9.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught only one pass for six yards Week 7 at Oakland. He has seven receptions all season.
Analysis: Keller had one decent week but has struggled ever since. As the team's backup tight end, he probably doesn't deserve a roster spot in 44 percent of Fantasy leagues anymore. Go ahead and cut him. The Jets host the Chiefs in Week 8.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from QB Brett Favre in the first quarter Week 6 against the Bengals. However, the touchdown came off the board on a penalty -- ineligible downfield pass. Keller didn't have another pass thrown his way all game.
Analysis: Keller should have had a touchdown catch for a third straight week, but thanks to the penalty, he got nothing. Keller is sharing time with Bubba Franks and Chris Baker and is not always on the field. He still has the most upside of all three players, but remains just a No. 2 Fantasy TE heading into Week 6 against the Raiders.
News: It looks like Jets rookie TE Dustin Keller has a dream matchup vs. Cincinnati in Week 6, but stats will tell you otherwise. Against the pass, the Bengals have allowed six scores, but three came last week at Dallas. They have yet to allow a 100-yard receiver and are ranked sixth vs. the pass, giving up just 167.6 pass yards per game on average through five contests. The reason why is because teams are running all over the Bengals -- they're giving up over 170 rush yards per game. All that said, tight ends Jason Witten and Kevin Boss have scored on the Bengals over the last three weeks, and opposing tight ends led their teams in receiving yards in the Bengals' last two losses.
Analysis: It also helps that Keller is a favorite target of Brett Favre's in the red zone. Problem is that he's not thrown to very much and only has six catches on the year (four for first downs, two for touchdowns). Keller fits the bill as a quality bye-week fill-in tight end for Week 6.
News: Jets QB Brett Favre hit TE Dustin Keller for a 24-yard touchdown with 1:54 remaining to seal a 56-35 win Week 4 against the Cardinals. Keller, who started for the second straight week, caught only one of the three passes thrown his way. But, he does have a touchdown in two straight games.
Analysis: Keller has started the last two games and is starting to see more and more action during his rookie season. The fact he is starting to pile up touchdowns is a good thing since Favre has a history of finding his tight ends in the red zone. The team still has Chris Baker and Bubba Franks on the roster, but Keller has the most potential out of all three players. Consider Keller a low-end Fantasy TE until he posts consistent numbers. New York is on a bye Week 5, but return to action Week 6 against the Bengals.
News: Jets TE Dustin Keller soon won't forget Week 3 against the Chargers. Although New York lost 48-29, the rookie from Purdue had his first career touchdown when QB Brett Favre hit him with a 13-yard pass with 3:09 left to play. Keller finished the game with four catches for 41 yards.
Analysis: Keller saw the most extensive action of his career Week 3 as he was targeted eight times in the game. That could be a good sign he is making his way up the Jets' depth chart. The team still has Chris Baker and Bubba Franks on the roster, but Keller has the most potential out of all three players. Consider Keller a low-end Fantasy TE until he posts consistent numbers. The Jets play the Cardinals Week 4.
News: Jets rookie TE Dustin Keller caught his first career pass in the fourth quarter of Week 2's 19-10 loss to the Patriots. Future Hall of Fame QB Brett Fave found the rookie from Purdue for a 19-yard gain with 13:29 to play.
Analysis: The Jets have high hopes for Keller, who was drafted in the first round. But New York also has Chris Baker and Bubba Franks on the roster, so he will struggle for catches. Keller remains a Fantasy reserve heading into Week 3 against the Chargers.
News: Jets rookie TE Dustin Keller had no catches in his NFL debut in Week 1 at Miami. Keller was outplayed by the Jets two other tight ends in Chris Baker (two catches for 34 yards) and Bubba Franks (two catches for 17 yards).
Analysis: Keller will get better as the season goes on and still remains the best option at tight end for the Jets. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy option in Week 2 against the Patriots.
News: The New York Daily News took a look at the Jets tight end position in a scouting report Wednesday. "It should be fascinating to see how the playing time is split between incumbent Chris Baker, new vet Bubba Franks and talented rookie Dustin Keller. Look for a lot of double-tight end formations, with the speedy Keller split wide. Keller is the key to the passing game. Franks is supposed to help in the red zone, but he dropped too many balls in the preseason."
Analysis: The Jets will open the season with the Dolphins, and Keller is the best starting option of this trio. Keller could be worth using in Week 1 against Miami in deeper formats, but leave Baker and Franks alone this week and most of the season.
News: Jets rookie TE Dustin Keller worked with the first-team on Saturday against the Giants and again was Brett Favre's top target. He caught Favre's first completion for six yards. Keller finished with three catches for 43 yards.
Analysis: Rookie TE Dustin Keller has already made an impression with the Jets, and now he should continue to improve with the addition of Brett Favre. Keller could become a starting TE in Fantasy leagues this year. He will lose some catches and playing time to Bubba Franks and Chris Baker, but Keller has more upside than those two. Playing with Favre should help Keller excel, and he's worth a late-round pick in all leagues at this time.
News:Jets rookie TE Dustin Keller has already benefited from Brett Favre throwing him passes. The first touchdown pass that Favre threw as a member of the Jets was a four yarder to Keller. Keller finished with two total catches for 26 yards.
News: New York Jets rookie TE Dustin Keller picked up his first catch in NFL action in Thursday's preseason opener against the Browns. Keller caught one pass for five yards.
News: The Packers reached an agreement to trade QB Brett Favre to the New York Jets, the team announced late Wednesday night. It cost the Jets a conditional fourth-round pick in 2009, but the pick will escalate to a first-rounder if Favre appears in 80 percent of the plays and the Jets make it to the Super Bowl, according to a league source. The pick could be a second- or third-rounder depending on Favre's playing time and the Jets' performance. The trade agreement was structured to prevent the Jets from dealing Favre to the Vikings, his No. 1 choice. The Jets would have to give three No. 1 picks to the Packers if they made such a move, a ! league source confirmed. The Packers decided to move forward with Aaron Rodgers as their starter after Favre announced his retirement in March.
Analysis: Rookie TE Dustin Keller has already made an impression with the Jets, and now he should continue to improve with the addition of Favre. Keller could become a starting TE in Fantasy leagues this year. He will lose some catches and playing time to Bubba Franks and Chris Baker, but Keller has more upside than those two. Playing with Favre should help Keller excel, and he's worth a late-round pick in all leagues at this time.
News: The Newark Star-Ledger reports the Jets have found an offensive spark in rookie TE Dustin Keller, who can be a playmaking tight end in the mold of the Browns' Kellen Winslow and the Colts' Dallas Clark. In training camp, Keller has been a difficult cover because he presents matchup problems for most linebackers and safeties with his speed and athleticism. He has lined up all over the field. "Dustin has been everywhere," said WR Jerricho Cotchery. "He's doing a great job. He has everyone excited. You can only go as far as your rookies go during the season because the more they contribute to the team, the better off the team will be."
Analysis: Keller has a chance to be a solid sleeper TE in Fantasy leagues this year. The Jets use the tight end a lot, and Keller could be a major factor in the offense. Consider Keller a No. 2 Fantasy TE for now worth a late-round pick in seasonal leagues, but he could end up as a low-end No. 1 option by the end of the season. In rookie drafts, take Keller with a second-round pick.
News: The Newark Star-Ledger reports the Jets view rookie TE Dustin Keller as a playmaker in the mold of the Colts' Dallas Clark, a tight end who can take advantage of mismatches with linebackers and big safeties because of his speed and athleticism. Keller has lined up all over the field and said he's finally starting to pick up the Jets' offense after struggling during minicamp. He said he sees how he'll be able to use his superior speed against linebackers and safeties to stretch the field. "I'm excited," he said. "Everything is just starting to come together. Everything makes a lot of sense to me now. I understand why we're doing what so I can move a lot faster out there."
News: The New York Jets placed disgruntled TE Chris Baker on the active-physically unable to perform list on Monday. Baker, angry that the Jets have refused to renegotiate his contract, missed a portion of minicamp last month after tweaking his back during practice. He was reportedly fined by the team for missing an injury treatment session. Baker can't practice until he is removed from the list, which can happen at any point, but can participate in team meetings. The Jets' first training camp practices are Thursday. Baker, who had career highs with 41 catches and 409 yards last season, has asked to be traded but reported to camp Sunday with the quarterbacks and injured players. This could open up the starting job for rookie Dustin Keller.
News: The Jets have signed first-round choice TE Dustin Keller on Friday. Keller, the 30th overall selection from Purdue, played in 46 games at tight end, catching 142 passes for 1,882 yards (13.3 avg) and 16 touchdowns. In 2007 he was named team MVP, second team All-Big Ten and honorable mention all-american by Pro Football Weekly.
Analysis: Keller has a chance to be a solid sleeper TE in Fantasy leagues this year. He might not see the field as much as we would like with Chris Baker and Bubba Franks still on the roster, but Keller is the best of the bunch and could be a decent red-zone target. Consider Keller a No. 2 Fantasy TE for now worth a late-round pick in seasonal leagues, but he could end up as a low-end No. 1 option by the end of the season. In rookie drafts, take Keller with a second-round pick.
News: With the 30th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Jets traded up to get Purdue TE Dustin Keller. Keller had a terrific Combine and fits in as a seam-busting receiving tight end.
Analysis: This likely spells the end of TE Chris Baker in New York, especially after he walked out of minicamp early. Keller has a shot at 300-to-400 receiving yards and could wind up being a bye-week replacement tight end in 2008. He's worth a late-round pick in deeper seasonal drafts, and he's worth a top-25 choice in rookie-only drafts. Chris Baker, meanwhile, loses a lot of steam as a No. 2 Fantasy TE.
