News: Defensive tackle Trevor Laws tweeted Wednesday night that he has agreed to a deal with the Rams. Laws, 26, had 20 tackles and a sack in a reserve role for the Eagles last season. He's a former second-round pick in 2008. "To all my people from Philly I will miss ya... but its time for me to take this show to STL. #memories," he posted according to The Sports Xchange.
Analysis: Laws should into the Rams' D-line rotation, which means he'll play regularly on a part-time basis. Big stats shouldn't be in his future.
News: Philadelphia DL Trevor Laws recorded his first sack of the season in Week 8 against Dallas. It was his only tackle of the game. The Eagles would win the game, 34-7.
Analysis: Laws has just 11 tackles on the year for Philly. Fantasy owners in IDP leagues should not pay any attention to Laws moving forward.
News: Eagles DL Trevor Laws recorded the first interception of his career in Week 13 against the Texans. Laws was gift-wrapped an interception when Matt Schaub's screen-play pass was horribly misjudged and delivered right into Laws' hands. "I was surprised when it came to me, and I was surprised when I caught it," he said. "I saw the end zone and thought I had it, but I was a little too slow, I guess." Laws finished with one solo tackle.
Analysis: Laws is having the best season of his young career. He has a career-high three sacks and now one interception. Still, he has just 14 tackles, so it's not like he is a stat machine. Laws still has marginal Fantasy appeal.
News: Eagles DL Trevor Laws only had one tackle in Week 10 against the Redskins but it was a big one. He picked up his third sack of the year when he brought down QB Donovan McNabb in the 59-28 win.
Analysis: Laws has three sacks in his career and they have all come this season. Unfortunately he does not have much else in the form of stats so continue to view the 25-year-old as a low-end option in Fantasy IDP formats heading into Week 11 against the Giants.
News: Eagles DL Trevor Laws was a force to be reckoned with in Week 3 against the Jaguars. The 25-year-old was second on the team with six tackles and sacked QB David Garrard once while defending two passes. Laws also had another tackle for loss in the 28-3 win.
Analysis: Laws recorded his first stats of the year in Week 3 and was constantly putting pressure on the Jaguars offensive line. He has never been a big producer but could become a sleeper in IDP formats if he can continue to put up stats like this. Track his progression over the next few weeks before adding him in IDP Fantasy leagues.
News: Eagles have listed the following players as inactive for Week 17 at Dallas: DB Geoffrey Pope, DB Quintin Demps, WR Kevin Curtis, TE Martin Rucker, DL Trevor Laws and 3rd QB Michael Vick.
Analysis: Vick is dressed as the emergency QB, but Philadelphia is hoping to keep him on the bench. The rest of the players above have no Fantasy value at this time and can be left off Fantasy rosters heading into next year.
News: Eagles QB Michael Vick, WR Kevin Curtis, DB Quintin Demps, DB Geoffrey Pope, TE Martin Rucker and DL Trevor Laws have all been ruled inactive for Week 16 vs. Denver.
Analysis: Vick is dressed as the emergency QB, but Philadelphia is hoping to keep him on the bench in Week 16, so he doesn't suffer a setback from his quad injury. No one on this list is going to cause a big stir in Fantasy. Keep them reserved for Week 16.
News: The Eagles list the following players as inactive for Week 14 at the Giants on Sunday night: 3rd QB Kevin Kolb, DB Geoffrey Pope, RB P.J. Hill, RB Brian Westbrook, WR Kevin Curtis and DL Trevor Laws.
Analysis: The Eagles clearly aren't in any rush to bring Curtis back, so you shouldn't bother with him in Fantasy. Westbrook is the only name that matters on this list. Leave everyone else on waivers.
News: The Eagles have listed their Week 5 inactives: WR Brandon Gibson, DB Quintin Demps, LB Joe Mays, WR Kevin Curtis, DL Trevor Laws and DB Jason Babin.
Analysis: Curtis is the big name among this group, so stash him away in deeper formats. The others in this group all have zero Fantasy value and can continue to be ignored.
News: The Eagles placed CB Asante Samuel (hamstring), DT Trevor Laws (hamstring) and DB Victor Abiamiri (pectoral sprain) on the physically unable to perform list on Friday. All three can come back to practice at any time until the start of the regular season, but if any one of them is not cleared before then, they'll be ineligible for the first six weeks of the year.
Analysis: Abiamiri and Laws aren't decent Fantasy options, but Samuel is thanks to his nose for the ball in the passing game. He should be OK for the start of the season and is worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy DB because his tackle totals aren't very high. Think late-round pick on him.
News: The Eagles placed DL Trevor Laws on their PUP list at the start of training camp, meaning that he won't practice with the team until he's healthy. The team can take him off the list at any point during the preseason but will lose him for at least six games if he's still on the list just before Week 1. "The foot, we'll just have to see how he does," Andy Reid said. "I would anticipate he would be out for a couple of days in this rookie camp here."
Analysis: Laws is more of a space eater and has minimal Fantasy value, so keep him off of seasonal Fantasy rosters. He's worth a late-round flier in deeper rookie-only IDP drafts.
News: The Eagles got the receiver they were hoping for in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft when they took DeSean Jackson from California. Philly also drafted DT Trevor Laws from Notre Dame in the second round, LB Bryan Smith from McNeese State in the third round, FS Quintin Demps from Texas in the fourth round, DB Jack Ikegwuonu from Wisconsin in the fourth round, LB Joe Mays from North Dakota State in the sixth round and LB Andy Studebaker from Wheaton in the sixth round.
Analysis: Jackson has the chance to have immediate Fantasy value in 2008 with the Eagles needing help at WR. Consider him a great sleeper and worthy of a late-round pick in all Fantasy leagues. Laws is more of a space eater and has minimal Fantasy value, and Smith, Demps and Ikegwuonu could eventually be reserves in IDP leagues.
