Eagles' probables cleared to face Panthers

(11/10/2014) Most of the Eagles who were probable on the injury report are active for Monday's game against the Panthers. The list includes center Jason Kelce (hernia), guard Evan Mathis (knee), safety Nate Allen (hamstring), linebacker Mychal Kendricks (calf) and wideout Brad Smith (groin).

(11/8/2014) The Eagles are expected to be without just one player in Monday night's Week 10 matchup with the Panthers.

Quarterback Nick Foles (collarbone) has already been ruled out and will miss several weeks while recovering from his injury, but every other player on the team's injury report is probable to play Monday. That list includes wide receivers Brad Smith (groin) and Jeff Maehl (foot), offensive linemen Evan Mathis (knee) and Jason Kelce (hernia), linebacker Mychal Kendricks (calf) and defensive backs Nate Allen (hamstring) and Nolan Carroll (groin).

(10/20/2014) Eagles guard Evan Mathis has been cleared to return to practice on Wednesday, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia reports. Mathis was placed on short-term injured reserve list with a knee injury. He won't be allowed to play until Week 10 against Carolina.

"I won't jump back into it full speed, Mathis said. "There's no rushing into it. I have three weeks of practice before I have to play."

(4/24/2014) Eagles guard Evan Mathis, who's unhappy with his contract, said he won't hold out, reports CSNPhilly.com. Mathis is scheduled to make $5.15 million this year.

He vowed that the contract issue won't become a distraction.

“I’m not going to let anything distract me from my job, which is to play football," he said. "And I can handle anything you guys (reporters) throw at me. So that’s not going to distract me. If you want to keep asking questions, I’m here to answer them. So it doesn’t really bother me, and if people want to keep tweeting to me I’m right there. I’m wide open. I’m easy to get to, so it’s not going to be a distraction."
