News: The Bills re-signed linebacker Kirk Morrison Thursday.
Analysis: Morrison will be just defensive depth again for Buffalo and has no Fantasy appeal.
News: The Bills released linebacker Kirk Morrison Monday.
Analysis: Morrison hasn't dressed for a single game this season, so he was expendable. Leave him off Fantasy IDP rosters.
News: The Bills announced Friday that they have agreed to terms on a new contract with linebacker Kirk Morrison. Morrison, a seven-year veteran, played sparingly as a backup in 2011 (seven tackles) but is seen as a possible option as the team's strong side linebacker in the teams new 4-3 scheme. Morrison was set to become an unrestricted free agent.
Analysis: Morrison has been a beast in Fantasy before and has the potential to be one again, especially in Buffalo, where the Bills have struggled to slow down the run for years. We'd consider him with a late-round choice.
News: Bills LB Kirk Morrison likely wont be on the field much Sunday against Oakland. Hes still learning, Bills coach Chan Gailey said of Morrison, who played last season for Jacksonville. He has a long ways to go yet.
Analysis: Morrison had just one solo tackle in Week 1, so clearly the Bills are limiting his playing time until he learns the intricacies of the team's 3-4 scheme. Leave Morrison out of Fantasy IDP lineups until he starts producing on a weekly basis.
News: Free agent LB Kirk Morrison has agreed to terms on a contract with the Bills, according to a league source. He notched 89 tackles as a Jaguar in 2010, a career-low after recording at least 116 stops in his first five NFL seasons.
Analysis: Morrison has plenty of experience in the 3-4 and has five seasons of 100 or more tackles, but the Bills appeared set at ILB. This could be a sign that the injury to veteran Reggie Torbor is more serious than originally anticipated. In any event, Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the talented tackler as the preseason progresses. If he in fact does play, he may be worth having on IDP rosters. Morrison is worth a late-round pick on Draft Day.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison was very productive in Week 17 against the Texans. Morrison finished with a team-high 13 tackles, four solo in the contest, which puts his total at 89 for the season.
Analysis: Morrison's numbers are actually a little down from his previous years in Oakland but none the less, he still put together a solid season. He isn't much of a threat in the sacks or turnovers department, but for those owners who seek help with tackling should definitely give Morrison a look heading into 2011.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison had a decent performance in the Week 15 loss at Indianapolis. Morrison finished the game with seven tackles and one for a loss.
Analysis: Morrison has recorded seven stops in two straight games for the Jaguars but has only been in double figures once all year. He's not a threat for sacks or interceptions and is just a low-end option in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: It might have been too little too late for your Fantasy team, but LB Kirk Morrison notched seven solo tackles against his former team, the Raiders, in Week 14.
Analysis: Morrison has seen his stock drop like a rock this season. Even with this nice game, owners shouldn't trust him in Week 15 against the Colts or for the rest of the season.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison registered four total tackles for the second straight game in the Week 13 win over Tennessee. He has just 14 tackles combined in his last four games.
Analysis: After racking up well over 100 tackles in each of his first five seasons in the NFL, Morrison is in danger of failing to do so this season. He has just 59 stops through 12 games. His solid status in Fantasy play seems all but gone, so view him as a low-end option moving forward.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison totaled four solo tackles in Week 12 against the Giants. Morrison has just 10 tackles in three November games and hasn't managed more than four tackles in five straight games.
Analysis: We hate to say it but Morrison is overowned at 24 percent of Fantasy IDP leagues. Owners are living off his past production with Oakland, but he just isn't the same playmaker for Jacksonville. Morrison remains a low-end Fantasy LB.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison was held to two solo tackles in Week 10 against the Texans. It was his lowest tackle total this season. He had managed four tackles in three games.
Analysis: After being a standout tackler in Oakland, Morrison isn't having the same impact in his first season with the Jags. He just isn't getting the same opportunities he did with Oakland and might finish with less than 100 tackles for the first time in his career. Clearly, Morrison is not the same Fantasy LB he used to be. He is a low-end start until his numbers improve.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison did not have his best game Sunday at Kansas City in Week 7. Morrison was held to four tackles, with three solo. He now has four tackles on the season.
Analysis: Morrison is a solid No. 3 LB in IDP leagues and is worth using most weeks. The entire Jacksonville defense struggled against the Chiefs and will look to rebound in Week 8 at Dallas. Plan on starting Morrison against the Cowboys.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison led the Jaguars in tackles during Week 6 against the Titans. He finished with seven tackles, one solo in the 30-3 loss.
Analysis: Morrison now has 36 tackles on the season and is one of the leaders on the Jaguars defense. While he doesn't create a ton of turnovers he is a great source of tackles and can be considered a solid LB option in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison did not have his most productive game in Week 5 against the Bills. He recorded just four tackles in the 36-26 win.
Analysis: Morrison entered Week 5 with 25 tackles through the first four games but was not able to get much going against the Bills. Part of that had to do with Jacksonville's offense so Fantasy owners should not get down on the former Aztec just yet. He is on pace to get to 100 tackles for the third time in his career so Morrison should be viewed as a solid LB option in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison recorded 10 tackles -- eight solo -- in Sunday's win over the Colts. He may not have sacked Peyton Manning in Week 4, but he did get one hit on him.
Analysis: Morrison has 25 tackles through four weeks, but has not recorded a sack. He is on pace to get to 100 tackles for the third time in his career and is a big part of the Jaguars defense. Going into Week 5 versus the Bills, Morrison should be viewed as a solid LB option in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison was second on the team in tackles in Week 3 against the Eagles. He recorded five tackles in the 28-3 loss.
Analysis: Morrison has 13 tackles through the first three games this year and looks well on his way to another 100-plus tackle season. The Jags defense has not stopped the opposition much this season but the 28-year-old remains productive. Continue to view Morrison as a solid option in IDP Fantasy leagues.
News: Jacksonville LB Kirk Morrison recorded four tackles in Sunday's loss to San Diego. He now has nine on the season.
Analysis: Morrison is a solid Fantasy IDP option, but until he gets going for the Jaguars owners aren't showing much faith in him. He's being started in 51 percent of the 68 percent of leagues he's owned in heading into Week 3. While he has potential to put up a lot of tackles, he's not impressing anyone through two weeks of the 2010 season.
News: Jaguars LB Kirk Morrison had a quiet 2010 opener, making just five tackles in a Week 1 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: Morrison was traded to Jacksonville after Oakland drafted rookie Rolando McClain in April and is capable of putting up 100-plus tackles in a season. Hopefully he can pick up the pace in Week 2 against the Chargers, but keep an eye on his numbers over the next few weeks just in case this move to a new team hurts his IDP value. When he's playing at his potential, Morrison is a solid Fantasy option.
News: All three Jaguars starting linebackers sat last week against Tampa Bay and may not play again this week against Atlanta, coach Jack Del Rio said. He noted that Justin Durant is further along than Daryl Smith and Kirk Morrison, but all three were called healthy coming out of the weekend.
Analysis: Morrison was traded to Jacksonville after Oakland drafted rookie Rolando McClain in April. It's not like Morrison is a bad linebacker. Oakland just couldn't pass on a talent like McClain. Morrison has eight tackles in the preseason and will be 100-tackle threat again in Jacksonville. He is also a durable LB, not having missed a game since he came into the league in 2005. Morrison remains a high-end Fantasy LB.
News: LB Kirk Morrison was traded from Oakland to Jacksonville on Saturday. Morrison was made expendable after the Raiders drafted Rolando McClain in the first round on Thursday night. "It's a new beginning for me," Morrison said in the Florida Times-Union. "I almost feel like I got drafted all over again."
Analysis: Morrison led the Raiders in tackles four consecutive seasons. He should continue to play at a high level for the Jaguars and is a No. 2 Fantasy LB based on his ability to record tackles. Plan on taking Morrison with a mid-round pick in IDP leagues this year.
News: The Raiders drafted Alabama ILB Rolando McClain at No. 8 overall, prizing production and a pedigree of winning over combine numbers. "The guy made plays," coach Tom Cable said. "He made plays against the run, he made plays against the pass. ... But the thing that thrilled me the most is that he's playing in arguably the best college football conference there is, and he's able to go out there and direct it. The more you watch this guy, it was pretty easy to feel as a football coach that, man, he's really got his hand on this thing. And, obviously, you can't argue with the success they had as a football team." McClain said he never visited the Raiders, but met with two assistants last week in Alabama. He didn't expect to be picked by the Raiders and was playing poker with friends when he got the call that he was the choice. Alabama ranked 46th in the nation in run defense before McClain arrived before improving to 28th his freshman year and second in his final two seasons. He won the Butkus Award as the top college linebacker, recording 105 tackles, including 14.5 for losses.
Analysis: Stopping the run has been a common theme to Oakland's struggles the past seven seasons. The Raiders have allowed an NFL-worst 143.7 yards rushing per game since then and 146 touchdowns on the ground - 15 more than the second-worst team, St. Louis. The Raiders finished 29th in run defense last season, allowing 155.5 yards per game. The Raiders have already added outside linebacker Kamerion Wimbley, but McClain could make the biggest difference stepping right into the middle. McClain played mostly in a 3-4 defense at Alabama, but Cable believes he can easily transition into Oakland's 4-3 scheme. His addition puts in doubt the future of MLB Kirk Morrison, who led the team in tackles the past four seasons. Morrison recently signed his restricted free agent tender but could be traded during the final two days of the draft. Keep an eye on what happens with Morrison. He still has value if he stays with the Raiders even with the addition of McClain, but he could increase his Fantasy value with a new team. He's likely a No. 2 Fantasy LB no matter where he ends up based on his ability to record tackles.
News: Middle linebacker Kirk Morrison has signed his restricted free agent tender contract offer with the Raiders. Morrison has been the leading tackler on the Raiders the past four seasons but Oakland has had one of the league's worst run defenses in that time.
Analysis: If Morrison remains with the Raiders he will likely compete with Ricky Brown for the starting middle linebacker spot. We see him winning that battle. He's been a quality tackler for Fantasy purposes and should continue to be at least a No. 2 Fantasy LB heading into 2010. A trade could boost his value even further.
News: Oakland placed a third-round tender on linebacker Kirk Morrison, a surprising decision considering how valuable he's been to the team as a tackler. Morrison, who has routinely been a popular Fantasy player because of his high tackle total, is free to sign with any team but the Raiders have the option to match the offer or receive a third-round pick as compensation.
Analysis: Morrison should remain a popular Fantasy option so long as he stays as an interior linebacker. He's got a nose for the football and has posted at least 115 total tackles in each of his five seasons. We could see him out of Oakland before the end of the offseason.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison, who recorded his first sack of the season just last week, picked up his second Week 17 against the Ravens. He had his usual high number of tackles, finishing with 10, including nine solo.
Analysis: Morrison continued to establish himself as one of the top tacklers in the league this season. He isn't a reliable source of sacks, but he's worth drafting as an under-the-radar No. 1 Fantasy LB in 2010.
News: The Raiders had several players chip in Thursday at Dallas but no one had an outstanding game. DL Trevor Scott led the way with five tackles and two sacks. LB Kirk Morrison had five tackles. DB Tyvon Branch had two tackles. LB Thomas Howard had three tackles. DL Richard Seymour had three tackles. DL Greg Ellis had two tackles against his former team. DB Chris Johnson had three tackles. And DB Michael Huff had four tackles.
Analysis: The Raiders have some decent Fantasy options in IDP leagues, mainly Morrison, Branch and Howard. Hopefully they can play better in Week 13 at the Steelers.
News: Several Raiders played well on defense Sunday in a win over the Bengals Week 11. Tyvon Branch led the team with 12 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. Kirk Morrison had four tackles in the game and recovered a fumble. Desmond Bryant had three tackles in the game and forced and recovered a fumble. Greg Ellis finished the game with three tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Thomas Howard had five tackles and a forced fumble. Nnamdi Asomugha had three tackles and intercepted a pass.
Analysis: Morrison, Branch and Howard are solid options in IDP formats. The rest of these players have little to no value and should be benched in the majority of leagues for Week 12 at Dallas on Thanksgiving.
News: Oakland LB Kirk Morrison made 10 tackles on Sunday in a Week 10 loss to the Chiefs. He also forced a Matt Cassel fumble in the game. He increased his tackles total on the season to 80 with the performance.
Analysis: Morrison finished last season with 135 tackles, a sack, an interception and two forced fumbles. He could finish with similar numbers this year and remains one of the better sources for tackles in Fantasy IDP leagues. Keep him active in all formats for Week 11 against the Bengals.

Analysis: Morrison finished last season with 135 tackles, a sack, interception and two forced fumbles. He could finish with similar numbers this year and remains one of the better sources for tackles in Consider him a safe play in any IDP league.
News: Oakland LB Kirk Morrison was listed as probable for Week 3's game against the Broncos with an elbow injury. Morrison was able to practice in full all week.
Analysis: Morrison's elbow injury has not slowed him down to start the season and it's not surprising to see him listed as probable for this weekend's game with the Broncos. Get him active as a solid No. 2 option in IDP formats.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison continues to play despite an elbow injury, and he's playing well. He had 13 tackles in Week 2 at Kansas City and now has 15 tackles on the season.
Analysis: Morrison appears to be fine. Continue to start him in all leagues as a No. 2 Fantasy option in Week 3 against Denver.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison (elbow) is listed as probable for Week 2 at Kansas City. Morrison practiced in full all week. He had two tackles in the opener against San Diego.
Analysis: It was a bit strange to see Morrison so ineffective against the Chargers since he has managed 100-plus tackles for four straight seasons. The Raiders are working on a new defensive scheme, but Morrison is a middle linebacker and should rack up the stats regardless. The tackles should come, so Morrison is still a decent No. 2 Fantasy LB.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison has been able to participate in practice this week for the Raiders and is expected to play in Week 1 against San Diego.
Analysis: Morrison finished last season with 135 tackles, a sack, interception and two forced fumbles. He was one of the more productive defensive players on the Raiders last season and should return at close to 100 percent for Week 1. Consider him a safe play in any IDP league.

He was held out of contact drills and won't play Thursday night against Seattle, but he said he'll definitely be ready for the Sept. 14 season opener against San Diego. "My adrenaline's going to be going," he said. "I'll be more anxious and more hungry."
Analysis: Morrison finished last season with 135 tackles, a sack, interception and two forced fumbles. He was one of the more productive defensive players on the Raiders last season and should return at 100 percent for Week 1. Continue to draft Morrison in all IDP leagues as a No. 2 LB.
News: Oakland middle linebacker Kirk Morrison left in the first quarter of Saturday's preseason game against San Francisco with a dislocated left elbow. Morrison is battling Ricky Brown for the starting spot and said he will miss a couple of weeks.
Analysis: Morrison finished last season with 135 tackles, a sack, interception and two forced fumbles. He was one of the more productive defensive players on the Raiders last season but now is in danger of missing the start of the regular season. He is a tackling machine but Fantasy owners might want to look elsewhere considering his elbow issue. When healthy, he is a solid option in IDP formats.
News: Oakland LB Kirk Morrison led the Raiders with 12 tackles against the Chargers in Week 14's 34-7 loss on Thursday night.
Analysis: Morrison now has 113 tackles on the season to go with one sack and one interception. What else is there to say about Morrison? He has been a tackling machine since entering the league in 2005 and remains a must-start Fantasy LB through thick and thin.

Analysis: What else is there to say about Morrison? He has been a tackling machine since entering the league in 2005 and remains a must-start Fantasy LB through thick and thin.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison recorded nine tackles in a Week 11 loss to Miami.
Analysis: Morrison is among the top 10 in tackles this season, so obviously he remains a must-start LB option in IDP leagues heading into Week 12 at Denver.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison had eight tackles -- six solo -- to lead his team Week 10 against the Panthers. He now has 78 tackles on the season.
Analysis: Morrison is clearly one of the most prolific tacklers in the game. Get him active in all Fantasy IDP leagues that reward tackles.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison (12 tackles), DB Gibril Wilson (11 tackles), DB Hiram Eugene (nine tackles), DB DeAngelo Hall (eight tackles), LB Thomas Howard (seven tackles), DL Tommy Kelly (seven tackles) and DB Nnamdi Asomugha (seven tackles) made the most of their excessive time on the field in a Week 9 24-0 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Morrison, Wilson and Hall are must-starts at their positions in IDP leagues, while Howard has some value as a low-end LB in deeper IDP formats. Eugene, Kelly and Asomughe have barely any value. Start only Morrison, Wilson and Kelly in Week 10 vs. the Panthers.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison made nine tackles and forced a fumble in a Week 7 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Morrison is a solid No. 2 Fantasy LB in IDP formats, but isn't picking off passes at the same pace he was last season. Start him in Week 8 against the Ravens and their rookie QB, Joe Flacco.

News: Notable Raiders defenders at Jacksonville in Week 16 include: LB Thomas Howard (seven solo tackles), SS Michael Huff (four solo tackles), DE Chris Clemons (two total tackles, sack), DE Derrick Burgess (solo tackle, sack) and LB Kirk Morrison (two total tackles, interception).

Analysis: Morrisom now has 68 tackles, one sack and four interceptions in nine games. Morrison has managed more than 115 tackles in each of his first two seasons, but if he doesn't pick up the pace in the second half, he might struggle to reach that mark this season. He is still a high-end Fantasy LB. We just hope for the best down the stretch.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison managed eight tackles (seven solo) during a Week 9 loss to the Texans. He now has 59 tackles in eight games, but has yet to hit the double-digit mark in one game this season.
Analysis: Morrison has managed more than 115 tackles in each of his first two seasons, but if he doesn't pick up the pace in the second half, he might struggle to reach that mark this season. He is still a high-end Fantasy LB. We just hope for the best down the stretch.

The Steelers racked up 360 yards but could not overcome four interceptions thrown by QB Ben Roethlisberger. DB Fabian Washington and LB Kirk Morrison had the other interceptions. The Raiders defense also harrassed Roethlisberger for five sacks on the day. DL Derrick Burgess had 2 1/2 to run his total to 7 1/2 on the season. DL Thomas Kelly had 1 1/2 sacks and DL Warren Sapp had the other. Asomugha and Morrison both led the team in tackles with nine.
Analysis: Don't get too excited. This is by far the best performance the Raiders defense has turned in this season. They do have the league's best pass defense, but somehow they still managed to get beat on a weekly basis. They are worth keeping an eye on, but they are not a recommended Fantasy DST for Week 9 against the Seahawks. Asomugha has turned into a surprising IDP player and could be used as a viable No. 2 or No. 3 DB. Morrison and Burgess as solid Fantasy uses. While Sapp and Kelly are marginal Fantasy players and should be used when the matchup is favorable. Carr and Washington are not recommended IDP players.
News: Raiders S Stuart Schweigert had nine tackles in Week 5 against the 49ers, finishing second to LB Kirk Morrison. Schweigert's high total was symptomatic of a defense that allowed 49ers running backs to break into the secondary.
Analysis: Both players have played well this season for a struggling Raiders team. They both have more than 35 tackles and are good IDP players for leagues that reward heavily for tackles.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison had an interception and seven tackles against the Ravens.
Analysis: Morrison and the Raiders are off for Week 3. Keep him reserved.
News: LB Kirk Morrison was a surprise last season for the Raiders, finishing second on the team in tackles as a rookie third-round pick. This year, the team is counting heavily on Morrison, moving him to middle linebacker, where he will anchor the defense. "It's starting to slow down," Morrison said. "Last year the game was really fast for me. It's starting to slow down for me. I'm understanding it. It's surprising, happening when I'm switching positions from outside linebacker to inside linebacker. But really I'm back at home I played middle linebacker my whole career before I got here, and it's starting to look the same for me right now." Morrison will call the plays for Oakland's defense this year.
Analysis: While the Raiders' defense appears to be very shaky, Morrison is the exact opposite. Consider him a viable No. 2 Fantasy LB option, worth a middle- to late-round pick in IDP drafts. If Oakland is going to put a lot of faith in him, you shouldn't be afraid to do the same.

News: Raiders rookie LB Kirk Morrison had a dozen solo tackles at San Diego in Week 13.
Analysis: Morrison has the potential to be a great long-term option in IDP leagues. He's worth starting now in leagues.
