Raiders' Moss injures hamstring

(11/20/2011) Raiders DL Jarvis Moss suffered a hamstring injury Week 11 at Minnesota and had to leave the game. He didn't record a defensive statistic in the game.

Moss to re-up with Oakland

(7/28/2011) The San Francisco Chronicle reported Wednesday that the Raiders have agreed to re-sign DE/OLB Jarvis Moss once they are eligible to do so on Friday. The one-year contract is worth a reported $1.25 million.

Moss to play on passing downs?

(11/26/2010) Raiders DE Matt Shaughnessy will start at RDE in place of Trevor Scott (knee), who went on injured reserve, coach Tom Cable said. Cable has yet to decide whether newly signed DE/OLB Jarvis Moss will play Sunday or what his DE rotation will be, especially in the nickel. “Obviously he has some pass-rush ability," coach Tom Cable said Wednesday. "That’s pretty apparent. We’ll see how fast we can incorporate him if it’s possible, in terms of this week with him just getting here.

Raiders sign LB Moss

(11/24/2010) The Raiders have signed LB Jarvis Moss, the Broncos' first round pick in the 2007 draft who was released last week. “Obviously he has some pass-rush ability," coach Tom Cable said. "That’s pretty apparent. We’ll see how fast we can incorporate him if it’s possible, in terms of this week with him just getting here.

Broncos release LB Moss

(11/17/2010) Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels announced Wednesday that the team has released LB Jarvis Moss, a former first-round draft pick.

Broncos' Moss back on the field

(8/20/2010) Broncos LB Jarvis Moss is practicing again after missing nearly two weeks due to a broken bone in his hand. He is wearing a soft cast that covers his hand and wrist and is not limited in any way. "I just gotta get used to it," Moss told the Gainesville Sun. "It's more mental than anything. I know it's strong. The doctor says it's fine. It's just having the courage to put it out there. I just have to have the courage to do it."

Moss has broken hand, out two weeks

(8/6/2010) The injury-ravaged Broncos suffered yet another blow Friday when outside linebacker Jarvis Moss broke a bone in his right hand during the team's workout. Moss will need surgery to fix the break and will likely miss two weeks of practice. Moss was getting the first crack to sub for the injured Elvis Dumervil (torn pectoral). Moss should be able to play this preseason with a cast over the hand but will miss practice time.

Moss, Ayers to replace Dumervil?

(8/5/2010) NFL Network is among those reporting that Broncos LB Elvis Dumervil has suffered a torn pectoral muscle and will miss at least four months. The team might opt to put him on injured reserve, ending his season. Dumervil had 17 of the Broncos' 39 sacks in 2009 -- no one else on the team had more than five. The team will look to Jarvis Moss and Robert Ayers primarily to replace Dumervil's pass rush. Moss' re-dedication to football this offseason after a spate of injuries and pedestrian performances will be tested. He recently has been a workout warrior but, even so, he only weighs 240 pounds as someone counted on to hold the edge. That's not that much.

Moss considering retirement?

(8/2/2009) Denver pass-rusher Jarvis Moss missed practice Saturday for an unspecified reason. KDVR television station in Denver reported that Moss, the Broncos' top draft pick in 2007 who hasn't lived up to expectations, was considering retirement. Moss did not return a phone message from The Associated Press.

Moss moves to OLB

(7/20/2009) The Gainesville Sun reports Denver's Jarvis Moss is moving from DL to LB in the Broncos' new 3-4 scheme. "It's a huge transition going from defensive line all of your life to linebacker," Moss said. "With the outside linebacker position that I am playing we rush a lot. It's just a matter of getting in my playbook, being open-minded and willing to learn. It's coming to me quick. I've learned so much about my position and about the 3-4 defense here. I'm excited. This is something I feel like I could have been doing from the very first day in the NFL." In his first two NFL seasons, Moss recorded just 24 tackles and 3.5 sacks. His rookie campaign was cut short due to a broken right shin suffered in practice in week seven. Moss fully recovered from the injury but still struggled in his sophomore year. The move to outside linebacker is a positive one for Moss. His athleticism, rushing skills and speed make him a seemingly perfect fit as a hybrid player.

J. Moss to move to OLB?

(10/7/2008) The Denver Post reports that the Broncos may move rookie DE Jarvis Moss to outside linebacker. "We have the ability to do some things with Jarvis we haven't done in the past," coach Mike Shanahan said Monday.
