Only five of 17 among injured Texans are on offense

(12/4/2013) Despite having 17 players on their injured list, the Texans are quite healthy heading into their TNF game against Jacksonville. Fullback Greg Jones, who is questionable with a knee ailment, is the only one who is not probable.

The other offensive probables are offensive linemen Derek Newton (knee), Wade Smith (knee) and Chris Myers (elbow) and running back Ben Tate (ribs/ankle).

(11/24/2013) Texans tackle Duane Brown (illness), tight end Ryan Griffin (concussion), center Ben Jones (ankle), safety Shiloh Keo (Achilles, hamstring), linebacker Joe Mays (knee), center Chris Myers (throat), tackle Derek Newton (knee, elbow), guard Wade Smith (knee), defensive end J.J. Watt (back), guard Cody White (neck), linebacker Mike Mohamed (hamstring), linebacker Darryl Sharpton (foot, toe, back) and linebacker Jeff Tarpinian (groin) were all cleared to play Week 12 vs. Jacksonville.

(11/22/2013) The Texans list 17 players on their Friday injury report, but 11 are probable for the game against the Jaguars on Sunday.

The offensive players among the probables are tight end Ryan Griffin (concussion), wideout DeAndre Hopkins (illness), offensive linemen Wade Smith (knee), Cody White (neck) Ben Jones (ankle), Duane Brown (illness), Derek Newton (knee/elbow) and Chris Myers (throat) and running back Ben Tate (ribs, ankle, neck).

The probables on defense are safety Shiloh Keo (Achilles/hamstring), linebacker Joe Mays (knee) and end J.J. Watt (back).

(10/20/2013) As expected, the five Texans starting linemen listed as probable for the game Sunday against Kansas City have been cleared to play. Guards Wade Smith (knee) and Brandon Brooks (toe), center Chris Myers (biceps) and tackles Derek Newton (knee) and Duane Brown (toe) are all active.

(10/11/2013) The Texans are dealing with a number of injuries along the offensive line, however they should have all hands on deck for Week 6 against the Rams, based on Friday's injury report. Six players are listed on the injury report, but all are expected to play through their various issues.

Tackles Duane Brown (toe), Ryan Harris (elbow) and Derek Newton (knee), along with guards Wade Smith (knee), Brandon Brooks (toe) and center Chris Myers (biceps) are all probable for Sunday's game.

That includes a trio of offensive linemen who are listed as probable after getting through the week in practice: Wade Smith (knee), Chris Myers (biceps) and Derek Newton (knee).

(9/29/2013) Players listed as probable on the Texans injury report are active Week 4 against the Seahawks.

LB Brian Cushing, TE Owen Daniels, RB Arian Foster, TE Garrett Graham, CB Brice McCain, C Chris Myers, T Derek Newton, S Eddie Pleasant, WR DeVier Posey, S Ed Reed, QB Matt Schaub, G Wade Smith and RB Ben Tate will give it a go against Seattle. 

Many of the players who were probable are key starters, and were not expected to miss the game.

(9/27/2013) The Texans have four offensive linemen on the injury report for Week 4 against the Seahawks, and they should have at least three of them available for Sunday's game. Guard Wade Smith (knee), center Chris Myers (back) and tackle Derek Newton (knee, calf) are all officially probable for the game, after getting through Friday's practive.

Tackle Duane Brown (toe) was unable to practice Friday, however, and he is at risk of missing his second game in a row. Brown has been limited to just taking part in some drills so far, and is expected to be a game-time decision

(9/20/2013) The Texans could be without tackle Duane Brown come Week 3 at Baltimore. He missed his third consecutive practice due to a toe injury and has been labeled questionable for Sunday.

Tackle Derek Newton (knee), center Chris Myers (back) and guard Wade Smith (knee) all participated in practice Friday and have been ruled probable for Sunday's game at Baltimore.

(9/13/2013) The Texans have 18 players listed on the injury report for Week 2 against the Titans, but they should be nearly at full strength come kickoff Sunday. That is because all but one of those listed is expected to play, with 17 considered probable after making it through practice Friday. 

Of those listed, nine are on the offensive side of the ball. They are: running backs Arian Foster (calf) and Ben Tate (shoulder); tight ends Owen Daniels (back, groin) and Garrett Graham (hip); wide receiver DeVier Posey (Achilles); and offensive linemen Wade Smith (knee), Derek Newton (knee), Chris Myers (back) and Duane Brown (ankle).
