Page cut by Eagles

News: The Eagles promoted WR Chad Hall from the practice squad Wednesday and released safety Jarrad Page to make room on the roster.
Analysis: It's a bit shocking the Eagles cut Page because he has 37 tackles in six games and has been quality depth at safety. But they need the WR more right now. Ignore Page in Fantasy IDP formats until further notice.

Page ruled inactive Week 6

News: Philadelphia DB Jarrad Page (stinger), who was considered probable for Week 6 against Washington, was instead ruled inactive for the contest. Page was a full participant in practice the past two days after being limited on Wednesday because of the issue. That said, he did not play for the Eagles.
Analysis: Page racked up 11 tackles Week 5 at Buffalo, but was inactive despite being probable coming into the Week 6 game. We're not sure the reason, as Page was actually leading the team with 36 total tackles entering the game. A healthy Page had some growing Fantasy value. Now we're not so sure.

Page turning health around

News: Philadelphia DB Jarrad Page (stinger) is considered probable for Week 6 against Washington. Page was a full participant in practice the past two days after being limited on Wednesday because of the issue. He's expected to play Sunday.
Analysis: Page is coming off his finest outing of the season when he racked up 11 tackles in Week 5 at Buffalo. The 26-year-old is first on the team with 36 total tackles this season and should be considered a viable option in deeper Fantasy IDP formats when healthy.

Page gets first INT of year

News: New England DB Jarrad Page did not record a tackle in the Monday night drubbing over the Miami Dolphins in Week 4. Page did intercept Tyler Thigpen late in the fourth quarter.
Analysis: Page now has just one tackle on the season to go with his late interception in the Week 4 game on Monday night. He's done almost nothing in four games this season and isn't worth owning in Fantasy IDP leagues.

Page dealt to Patriots

News: The Chiefs traded DB Jarrad Page to New England on Saturday in exchange for an undisclosed draft selection.
Analysis: Page refused to participate in training camp with Kansas City as a restricted free agent and will have a lot to catch up on in New England. Continue to ignore him in Fantasy play.

Page signs deal, trade coming?

News: Chiefs FS Jarrad Page signed his one-year, $1.7 million tender offer on Friday as a precursor to a trade. Page has missed the entire offseason, training camp and preseason as a restricted free agent. He has consistently asked to be traded.
Analysis: With the Chiefs acquiring rookie Eric Berry in the draft, the team can move on without Page. He might start if traded, but there is no reason to put Page on your Fantasy team right now.

Page on the outs in KC?

News: The situation between the Chiefs and safety Jarrad Page continues to be the quietest contract battle in the league. A restricted free agent, Page was tendered a contract by the Chiefs in February, and from then until now, neither Page nor Chiefs GM Scott Pioli has commented publicly on the situation. Page's unwillingness to sign the tender offer made to him by the Chiefs is a pretty good indication of his desire to escape Kansas City. His absence from the team's offseason activities has left him out of the loop with the new defense, and there are a pair of draft choices at safety to help push him off the field. Page is active on Twitter and posted earlier this week: "I know I haven't responded to all your questions but I appreciate the love and concern from the fans and to those who talk bad on me -- CRICKETS."
Analysis: Page missed a chunk of last season following an injury suffered during practice and isn't happy with the tender offer the Chiefs made him. Whether he stays with the Chiefs or not, he's not worth relying on as anything more than a low-end reserve DB in Fantasy play.

Chiefs make DB moves

News: Jarrad Page, a three-year starter at free safety, has been placed on injured reserve by the Chiefs. On Monday coach Todd Haley said he had been injured during practice last Thursday but gave no other comments. Page was listed on the injury report in Week 7 with a shoulder problem. The Chiefs signed free agent cornerback Travis Daniels to take his roster spot. He attended training camp with the Chiefs this year but was released before the season began.
Analysis: Neither of these players were or are expected to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep them off of rosters for now.

Chiefs list Week 7 inactives

News: The Chiefs listed the following players as inactive for Week 7 against San Diego: QB Matt Gutierrez, LB Pierre Walters, TE Brad Cottam, TE Jake O'Connell, WR Bobby Engram, DB Jarrad Page and DB Donald Washington.
Analysis: None of the players listed are expected to have any Fantasy appeal this season. Leave them on waivers in all leagues until further notice.

News: Kansas City DB Jarrad Page is inactive for Week 6 at Washington with a shoulder injury.
Analysis: Page is not a recommended player for Fantasy IDP use. Leave him on waivers for all Fantasy leagues for Week 6.

Chiefs defenders contribute in loss

News: Chiefs LB Demorrio Williams (eight tackles), DB Brandon Flowers (seven tackles) and DB Jarrad Page (three tackles, forced fumble) all contributed in a Week 3 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: The Chiefs are one of the worst Fantasy teams out there, and none of their defenders are worth using in IDP Fantasy play.

Page misses preseason loss Saturday

News: Chiefs S Jarrad Page was expected to play in Saturday's preseason game vs. the Seahawks, but didn't suit up.
Analysis: Page is an up-and-comer who had 63 total tackles and four interceptions last year with the Chiefs. With the motivation of a long-term contract in his head following the signing of a one-year contract back in June, he could play well in 2009. Think of him as a late-round flier in drafts this summer.

Chiefs DB Page signs tender

News: Safety Jarrad Page has signed his restricted free agent tender with the Kansas City Chiefs. Page joined the Chiefs as a seventh-round draft pick from UCLA in 2006 and soon became a starter. Last year, he was a steadying influence for Kansas City's very young secondary. In 48 games, Page has 185 tackles and 10 sacks, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.

Page only bright spot for K.C. defense

News: Chiefs DB Jarrad Page led his team with nine tackles and made his fourth interception of the season in a Week 16 loss to Miami.
Analysis: Page has made 80 tackles this season, which ranks him in the top 25 of DBs. He hasn't quite made his name in IDP leagues yet, but he's someone worth keeping in mind for 2009. The Chiefs play at Cincinnati in Week 17.

Chiefs defenders play well

News: In the Chiefs' 22-21 loss vs. the Chargers in Week 15, notable defenders included: DE Tamba Hali (five solo tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles), CB Brandon Flowers (10 solo tackles, forced fumble), DL Jason Babin (six total tackles, sack) and DB Jarrad Page (six total tackles, forced fumble). CB Patrick Surtain also had an interception with two solo tackles.
Analysis: Of these defenders, Hali is usable as a No. 2 Fantasy DL and Flowers as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy DB. No one else is worth the roster spot in Fantasy play. The Chiefs play vs. the Dolphins in Week 16.

Page turns interception

News: Chiefs DB Jarrad Page had six tackles and an interception Sunday against New Orleans.
Analysis: Page is a low-end DB in IDP leagues but he played well against the Saints. Use Page if you need help at DB in Week 12 against Buffalo and hope for more outings like this.

Page has first pick of 2008

News: Chiefs DB Jarrad Page had three tackles (one solo) and an interception during a Week 5 loss to the Panthers. Page now has 27 tackles and one interception in five games.
Analysis: Page has averaged three interceptions in his first two seasons and appears on track for another three-pick season. Page is a decent contributor, but remains just a low-end Fantasy DB.

Chiefs defenders take on the Pats

News: Notable Chiefs defenders from Week 1 at New England include: LB Derrick Johnson (four tackles, sack), CB Patrick Surtain (six solo tackles, forced fumble), DT Alfonso Boone (two solo tackles, sack), rookie CB Brandon Flowers and SS Bernard Pollard (six total tackles each). FS Jarrad Page added a fumble recovery and seven total tackles while LB Donnie Edwards had a pair of solo hits).
Analysis: Of these defenders, the only ones you can really rely on for Fantasy use are Page, Pollard, Johnson and Edwards. Everyone else doesn't post enough stats on a weekly basis to warrant Fantasy use. The Chiefs are home vs. Oakland in Week 2.

Page a solid sophomore

News: Chiefs DB Jarrad Page played well in his second season in the NFL in 2007. He had 59 tackles (43 solo) with three interceptions and one forced fumble. Page now has six interceptions in his first two seasons.
Analysis: Page is a decent source of interceptions but he doesn't get enough tackles to help your Fantasy team. Don't plan on drafting Page in any IDP leagues heading into 2008.

Jarrad Page intercepts Peyton Manning

News: Chiefs DB Jarrad Page had an interception -- his fourth of the season -- off Peyton Manning in Week 11 at Indianapolis. He also had three tackles.
Analysis: With only 38 tackles, Page is nothing more than a low-end DB in Fantasy IDP leagues. Leave him on waivers for Week 12 against the Raiders.

Jarrad Page probable for Week 7

News: After missing some practice Wednesday, Chiefs DB Jarrad Page (hamstring) had full participation Thursday and Friday. The Chiefs list him as probable for Week 7 at Oakland.
Analysis: Page is expected to play against the Raiders at this time, but continue to track his progres in case he suffers a setback. He is a low-end Fantasy DB when healthy.

News: Chiefs DB Jarrad Page (hamstring) went through limited practice reps Wednesday, but returned to a full routine Thursday as the team prepares for Week 7 at Oakland. Page has 28 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble through six games.
Analysis: Page is expected to play against the Raiders at this time, but continue to track his progres in case he suffers a setback. He is a low-end Fantasy DB when healthy.

News: Notable Chiefs defensive players from Week 5 vs. Jacksonville include: CB Ty Law (eight solo tackles), LB Donnie Edwards (nine total tackles), LB Napoleon Harris (eight total tackles, sack), DB Bernard Pollard (six total tackles, sack), LB Derrick Johnson and DB Jarrad Page (four solo tackles each), DL Ron Edwards (three solo tackles, sack) and DE Jared Allen (four total tackles, 1.5 sacks).
Analysis: Of these players, Edwards and Allen are Fantasy must-starts, while Law, Johnson, Page and Harris are low-end options and guys useful in deeper leagues. The Chiefs play vs. Cincinnati in Week 6.

Page forces, recovers fumble

News: Chiefs DB Jarrad Page totaled nine tackles (eight solo) during a Week 4 win over the Chargers. He also forced a fumble in which he recovered during the game.
Analysis: Page now has 21 tackles and one interception through four games. He is quietly emerging as a viable Fantasy DB in larger IDP formats. Continue to track his progress in the coming weeks. He might develop into much more.

Page picks up Week 1 interception

News: The Chiefs allowed 20 points and 315 yards of offense in Week 1 at Houston. Donnie Edwards and Alfonso Boone each sacked QB Matt Schaub once and Jarrad Page picked up an interception. Edwards also recovered a fumble.
Analysis: Page also had three tackles in the game. He's worth a flier in deeper IDP formats as a possible No. 3 DB.
