News: The Seahawks signed DE Jay Richardson on Wednesday.
Analysis: Richardson played the last three seasons with Oakland before hurting his knee in camp. He will provide some DL depth for the Seahawks, but can continue to be ignored in IDP Fantasy play.
News: Raiders DE Jay Richardson (knee), DE Alex Daniels (groin) and CB Joey Thomas (concussion), who had been waived/injured Saturday, were placed on IR Sunday, the team announced on its website on Sunday.
Analysis: Richardson had been a good role player for the Raiders since 2007, totaling 109 tackles and seven sacks. But even if he played this season, Richardson would have had minimal Fantasy appeal. Ignore him now that he is out for the season.
News: Raiders DE Jay Richardson, who underwent surgery earlier in camp to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, said he's "shooting" to play in the season opener against Tennessee. "We'll see if I can practice the week going into the opener," he said Tuesday, "and if I feel good, then I'm definitely going to go."
Analysis: Richardson has only seven career sacks in 48 games. Even if healthy, he won't put up enough in the way of stats to have an impact in Fantasy this year. He can be ignored in IDP leagues.
News: Raiders DL Jay Richardson, who had arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday, will likely be out 2-3 weeks. "That's what I'm hearing," coach Tom Cable said on Thursday. Cable, though, said he'll have a clearer idea once Richardson begins his rehabilitation.
Analysis: Richardson played in 16 games last season but did not start in any. He finished with three sacks and 18 tackles and is not considered an option for Fantasy IDP leagues. Continue to ignore him in all IDP formats.
News: Raiders DL Jay Richardson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Wednesday and is likely to miss the remainder of camp. Richardson played in 16 games last season but did not start in any.

News: Raiders DE Jay Richardson (left knee) did some light running Monday but said hes not sure when hell return to practice. He put his odds of playing Thursday against Dallas at 50-50. "If its not 100 percent, I probably wouldnt (play)," he said. "Its a long year."
Analysis: Richardson played in 16 games last season but did not start in any. He finished with three sacks and 18 tackles and is not considered an option for Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Raiders DB Chris Johnson (nine tackles), LB Thomas Howard (seven tackles) and DL Jay Richardson (two tackles, sack) in a Week 11 loss to the Dolphins.
Analysis: Howard is the only one in this group with value in IDP Fantasy leagues and could be worth a start in deeper leagues when Oakland heads to Denver in Week 12. The other two can be ignored.
News: Raiders DL Jay Richardson had four tackles (three solo) and one sack during a Week 4 loss to the Chargers. It was his first sack in 2008.
Analysis: The second-year end from Ohio State has just two career sacks, but already has 14 tackles in four games. He had just 33 in 16 last season. Richardson is part of the rotation at end for Oakland, but has little Fantasy value.
News: Raiders LB Kirk Morrison (10 tackles), LB Robert Thomas (five tackles, forced fumble), DL Warren Sapp (five tackles), DL Jay Richardson (two tackles, sack), LB Chris Clemons (fumble recovery) and DL Tyler Brayton (fumble recovery) all helped out with nice efforts in Oakland's 34-20 win over the Broncos in Week 13.
Analysis: Morrison is a high-end No. 1 LB and should start in all leagues in Week 14 against the Packers. The rest of these players have minimal or no Fantasy value and should not be started in the game.
News: The Sacramento Bee reports that Raiders DL Tommy Kelly will have surgery to repair torn knee ligaments (MCL and ACL) and will miss the rest of the season. Rookie Jay Richardson will start in his place.
Analysis: Richardson won't produce enough stats on a weekly basis to warrant use in Fantasy play. Kelly should be cut in all leagues now that he's done for the year.
News: The Raiders came to terms on contracts with rookie draft picks Jay Richardson, a D-lineman, and John Bowie, a cornerback.
Analysis: Neither defender should be considered for use in Fantasy IDP league play.
News: Aside from first-round pick QB JaMarcus Russell, second-round pick TE Zach Miller and fourth-round pick RB Michael Bush, the Raiders' 2007 draft class includes: Georgia DE Quentin Moses, FSU OT Mario Henderson, UTEP WR Johnnie Lee Higgins, Cincinnati CB John Bowie, Ohio State DE Jay Richardson, Washington St. SS Eric Frampton, Arkansas State FB Oren O'Neal and Louisiana Tech WR Johnathan Holland.
Analysis: Moses has the potential to be a sack specialist for the Raiders thanks to his lanky build and good speed, making him worth a middle- to late-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts. Higgins is a blazer with really nice acceleration and vertical ability but is just 5-foot-11 and isn't the best route runner. He's a sleeper in keeper leagues too. Holland also has nice speed but needs work on other aspects of his game. The rest of the Raiders' crew will provide team depth this season.
