News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson continued his career campaign in Week 17 against the Giants. He hauled in two more touchdown passes, giving him 11 on the year, and finished with four catches for 61 yards in the 31-14 loss. QB Tony Romo found him from 34 yards out in the third quarter, and again from 6 yards late in the game. Robinson, who was targeted five times in the contest, averaged 15.3 yards per reception.
Analysis: Robinson finished with career highs in receptions (54), receiving yards (858) and touchdowns this season as he helped fill in when Miles Austin and Dez Bryant went down with injuries. He proved this season that he can be a viable Fantasy option so keep an eye on where he lands in the offseason. As long as he is starting somewhere in the league, plan on taking Robinson in the majority of leagues on Draft Day.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson has been ruled active for Week 17 against the Giants. He has been dealing with a lingering shoulder injury. He was held to just one catch last week, but posted 137 yards receiving with a touchdown in his previous outing against New York this season.
Analysis: Robinson is having a career year in his first season with the Cowboys and has developed a knack for finding the end zone. He has nine scores, but with just four catches over the last two games, it looks as though he has been affected by Miles Austin and Dez Bryant being fully healthy again. Still, with his production this season, he should be viewed as a high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 17.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson is considered probable for Week 17 against the Giants with a lingering shoulder injury. Robinson has been able to practice the past week and should remain in the lineup for the Cowboys on Sunday.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson caught just one pass for 5 yards his last time out and will be looking to get back on track in Week 17 against the Giants. New York ranks 27th in the league in pass defense, giving up over 255 yards per contest, and has allowed an average of 24.1 Fantasy points to opposing wideouts. When he faced the division foe earlier in the year, Robinson posted 137 yards receiving with a touchdown.
Analysis: Robinson is having a career campaign in his first season with the Cowboys and has developed a knack for finding the end zone. He has nine scores thus far. But with just four catches for 34 yards over the last two games, it looks as though he has been affected by Miles Austin and Dez Bryant being fully healthy again. Still, with his production this season consider Robinson as a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 17.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson barely contributed in Week 16 against Philadelphia. He was held to one catch for 5 yards in the 20-7 loss. He was targeted twice in the contest. Robinson entered the weekend banged up with a shoulder injury.
Analysis: Robinson and the Cowboys have a big matchup next weekend against the Giants as the winner goes to the playoffs. New York is giving up 255.4 passing yards per game this year and have allowed 26 receiving touchdowns in 15 games. In the last meeting versus the Giants, Robinson posted a big game, catching four passes for 137 yards and a touchdown. Fantasy owners shouldn't bank on a repeat performance, however, as Robinson is more of a No. 3 WR option for Week 17.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson was active for his team's showdown with Philadelphia on Saturday. He's been dealing with a shoulder injury, but has been able to play through it.
Analysis: The Eagles are allowing an average of 21 Fantasy points to opposing receivers this season and 213.8 passing yards overall. With Cowboys WR Miles Austin back to 100 percent for Dallas, Fantasy owners should consider Robinson a low-end No. 2 WR option for Week 16.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson is considered questionable for Week 16 against Philadelphia because of a nagging shoulder injury. Robinson was limited in practice all week. He was listed as questionable for last Sunday's game because of the shoulder issue, but was able to play and scored a touchdown. Robinson has registered a touchdown in back-to-back outings and has nine total scores this season.
Analysis: Robinson has been able to play through his injury, but Fantasy owners should monitor his status right before kickoff on Saturday. The Eagles are also allowing an average of 21 Fantasy points to opposing receivers this season and 213.8 passing yards overall. With Cowboys WR Miles Austin back to 100 percent for Dallas, Fantasy owners should consider Robinson a low-end No. 2 WR option for Week 16 if he plays.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson continues to deal with a shoulder injury and was limited in Thursday's practice. In Week 16 the Cowboys host the Eagles. Philadelphia has given up 25 receiving touchdowns this season, despite getting a revamped secondary in the offseason. The Eagles are allowing 213.8 passing yards per contest as well.
Analysis: Robinson has been able to play through his injury, but it is good for Fantasy owners to keep tabs on him during the week. The Eagles are also allowing 21 Fantasy points to opposing team's receivers this season. With Miles Austin back 100 percent for Dallas, Fantasy owners should consider Robinson a low-end No. 2 WR option for Week 16.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson was able to haul in his ninth touchdown reception of the season in Week 15 against the Buccaneers. Robinson was on the receiving end of a 7-yard scoring strike from Tony Romo in the second quarter, which capped off a seven-play, 89-yard scoring drive. He finished with three receptions for 29 yards in the 31-15 win, averaging 9.7 yards per reception. Robinson was targeted three times in the victory.
Analysis: Robinson was able to play through his shoulder injury on Saturday night and was able to haul in his team-leading ninth touchdown catch. However, his role looks to be changing over the next few weeks. With Miles Austin now healthy, Robinson has been moved back to bench and used primarily as the team's No. 3 WR over the last two weeks. He was only on the field Saturday night when the team went to their three receiver sets, which will likely be the case moving forward. Still, Robinson has now scored a touchdown in seven of his last eight contests, so it might be hard for some owners to take him out of starting lineups when the Eagles come to town in Week 16. Robinson finished with five receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown in his first meeting with Philadelphia this season and he was used as the club's No. 3 wideout in that contest. While owners may want to curb their expectations a bit moving forward, Robinson can still be considered a No. 2 Fantasy WR next Saturday.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson has officially been ruled active for Week 15 against the Buccaneers. Robinson was limited in practice this week due to a shoulder injury. The Bucs are allowing 258 receiving yards per game this season and have given up 22 touchdowns through the air.
Analysis: Robinson will play on Saturday night, although he will not be in the starting lineup. Miles Austin has moved back into his starting role for Dallas, which will likely limit Robinson's role to more of a No. 3 WR. Still, the fact that he has scored in six of his last seven games makes it tough to take him out of most lineups. With another favorable matchup on the docket, consider Robinson a viable play in all Fantasy formats.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson, who had been limited in practice with a lingering shoulder injury, is officially listed as questionable for Week 15 against the Bucs. However, he is expected to play Sunday. The Bucs are allowing 258 receiving yards per game this season and have given up 22 touchdowns through the air.
Analysis: Perhaps this is just the Cowboys way of protecting themselves in case Robinson has a setback. He was questionable leading up to Week 14 and we can all remember that he shredded the Giants secondary for a big game. Unless you hear otherwise, then make sure to start Robinson, who has scored in six of his last seven games.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson (shoulder) was limited again in practice Thursday, but he is expected to play Week 15 against the Bucs. The Bucs are allowing 258 receiving yards per game this season and have given up 22 touchdowns through the air.
Analysis: It seems Robinson is having a tough time shaking this shoulder injury, but it doesn't appear to be bothering his play. He went off for 137 yards and one touchdown against the Giants in Week 14. He has scored in six of his last seven games, with another favorable matchup on the docket. Consider Robinson a viable play in all Fantasy formats.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson was limited in practice on Wednesday as he's dealing with a shoulder injury. He missed most of practice last week and performed well for the Cowboys last weekend. In Week 15, the Cowboys face the Buccaneers. The Bucs are allowing 258 receiving yards per outing this season and have given up 22 touchdowns through the air.
Analysis: Robinson had a career night last week after missing practice. Fantasy owners can only hope he has a repeat of last week. Tony Romo continues to look Robinson's way, so as long as he's healthy and active for Week 15, owners should consider a No. 1 WR option.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson missed practice for most of the week leading up to the showdown with the Giants in Week 14, however on Friday he told reporters he was ready to roll. On Sunday night, he made those words count, going for four catches, a career-high 137 yards and a touchdown as the Cowboys lost 37-34. He caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from QB Tony Romo in the second quarter, and then added a 74-yard reception that almost went for a score before he was pushed out of bounds at the six-yard line.
Analysis: Robinson had a five-game touchdown streak broken in Week 13, but he looked intent on starting a new one to end the season. He has eight touchdowns on the season, and the return of Miles Austin from a hamstring injury certainly didnt hurt his production. The Cowboys travel to Tampa to take on the Buccaneers in Week 15, and Robinson gets to face a team that allows the 12th most points to opposing Fantasy WRs. Consider him a high-end No. 2 Fantasy WR for Week 15.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson (shoulder) was active for Week 14 as expected against the Giants. Robinson had missed practice Wednesday and Thurday, but participated on Friday and was expected to play.
Analysis: Robinson's looks may limited by the return of Austin Miles from a hamstring injury, but the Cowboys may be in for a shootout in a must-win against the Giants, so Robinson should remain an active part of the offense. You can feel safe getting him into your lineup.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson, who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with a shoulder injury, returned to practice Friday and said he is "ready to roll." Robinson has been saying all week that he expects to play Week 14 against the Giants. He is officially listed as questionable.
Analysis: It was reported Thursday that Robinson was practicing before the Cowboys listed him as a DNP, sending the Fantasy Football universe into a panic. It appears Robinson will be on the field for a must-win game for Dallas on Sunday. Miles Austin is set to return from his hamstring injury, but we still expect Robinson to factor in the passing game. Although, he will probably lose some targets, so consider Robinson more of a No. 3 Fantasy WR if he plays.
News: In a strange twist of events on Thursday, Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson's status for Week 14 against the Giants remains in question. Early on Thursday all the reports were that Robinson returned to practice after sitting out Wednesday because of a shoulder injury. However, when the Cowboys released their official injury report, Robinson was listed as a did not practice for a second straight day.
Analysis: Let the Fantasy headache begin. The will he or won't he play question will now extend into Friday after the Cowboys surprisingly listed Robinson as a DNP on Thursday. Robinson has held all along that he expects to play in this big NFC East showdown, so don't lose hope just yet. If Robinson plays, then in Week 14 he gets to face a Giants team that has been terrible at stopping wide receivers in recent weeks, allowing at least 190 yards and two touchdowns to wide receivers in their last three matchups. Miles Austin (hamstring) is expected to return Sunday, which will take some PT and targets away from Robinson. But he has been so good for them this season that Robinson should remain in the mix if active. Consider starting Robinson in Fantasy if he plays.
News: In good news for the Cowboys and Fantasy owners, WR Laurent Robinson returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday to deal with a shoulder injury. If Robinson avoids a setback, then in Week 14 he gets to face a Giants team that has been terrible at stopping wide receivers in recent weeks, allowing at least 190 yards and two touchdowns to wide receivers in their last three matchups.
Analysis: Robinson said earlier in the week that he expected to play Sunday and we are more encouraged by seeing him practice Thursday. The Cowboys are expected to get back WR Miles Austin (hamstring) on Sunday, so Robinson might have to come off the bench. That does hurt his Fantasy appeal a bit, but he has been such a good weapon for Dallas this season, it's unlikely he will totally be phased out of the passing game. Robinson is still worth starting in Fantasy as long as he suits up Week 14.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday in prep for Week 14 vs. N.Y. Giants. However, Robinson said earlier in the week he expects to play Sunday. If he does play, he will have a chance to go up against Giants team that has been terrible at stopping wide receivers in recent weeks, allowing at least 190 yards and two touchdowns to the wide receivers of their last three matchups.
Analysis: Robinson left the game Week 13 for a bit, but he eventually returned. Robinson said his shoulder is a little sore, but he expects to face the Giants. Given the very attractive matchup in what promises to be a high-scoring game, Robinson is still worth starting in Fantasy as long as he suits up Week 14.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday in prep for Week 14 vs. N.Y. Giants. However, Robinson said earlier in the week he expects to play Sunday.
Analysis: Robinson left the game Week 13 for a bit, but he eventually returned. Robinson said his shoulder is a little sore, but he expects to face the Giants.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson said Monday that he doesnt expect to miss any practice time this week because of a shoulder injury he sustained midway through Sundays loss in Arizona. Robinson had X-rays and returned before halftime. "It's sore, but Ill be fine for this week," Robinson said. Dallas takes on the Giants in Week 14.
Analysis: Robinson posted four catches for 72 yards in Week 13 but had his five-game touchdown streak snapped. It looks as though this injury should not hinder him much going forward but keep an eye on his progress in practice throughout the week to see how he is doing. He is having a breakout campaign with 42 catches and seven touchdowns thus far so as long as he is able to play against the Giants, consider Robinson a solid option in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson left Sunday's game against Arizona in the second quarter with a right shoulder injury. He jogged off the field after he made his second catch of the game. He went to the locker room for further evaluation, but would return before halftime. Robinson, who has been filling in for the injured Miles Austin, had 41 receiving yards in the game at the time of his injury. Robinson finished the game grabbing four passes for 72 yards on six targets. Dallas would lose the game, 19-13, in overtime. He entered Week 13 with seven touchdowns in his last five games, but could not find the end zone on Sunday. He had four career touchdowns from 2007-2010.
Analysis: Robinson has been plagued by injuries his entire career, but is finding a niche in Dallas. He's stepped up big time for Dallas with Miles Austin out of action with a hamstring injury, but he's expected to return to the field in Week 14 versus the Giants. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on Robinson during the week to see how he feels. Also monitor Austin's status to see if he's healthy enough to play. Owners should consider Robinson a borderline No. 1/No. 2 WR option for Week 14, as long as he's healthy.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson is aiming at a sixth straight game with a touchdown catch. He has seven touchdowns in the past five games -- two coming on Thanksgiving. In Week 13 Dallas travels to Arizona to face the Cardinals, a team that have given up 12 receiving touchdowns in 11 games. Opposing receivers are averaging 22.18 Fantasy points per contest against the Cards this season.
Analysis: Entering this season, Robinson hadn't done much in his four previous seasons in the NFL. He had four career touchdowns from 2007-2010. He's stepped up big time for Dallas with Miles Austin out of action with a hamstring injury. Owner Jerry Jones said Austin will play in Week 13, although he still hasn't practiced. Fantasy owners should stick with Robinson as he's playing extremely well and has been Tony Romo's go-to target. Robinson should be considered a No. 1 WR option for Sunday.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson had a terrific Thursday on Thanksgiving Day against Miami in Week 12. He had seven catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns and now has seven touchdowns in his past five games with a five-game scoring streak. Robinson had a team-high 12 targets from QB Tony Romo.
Analysis: Robinson is on fire for the Cowboys and Fantasy owners, and we hope he can keep this going to end the season. The only problem for Robinson could be the return of Miles Austin (hamstring), which is expected to happen in Week 13 at Arizona. We don't expect Robinson to disappear, especially with the rapport he has with Romo right now, but Austin's return could cut into his targets. Keep an eye on what happens with Austin, but Robinson should remain active in all leagues against the Cardinals.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson has totaled five touchdowns over his last four games and will be looking to find the end zone again in Week 12 against the Dolphins. Miami ranks 25th in the league in pass defense, giving up over 251 yards per contest, and have allowed an average of 22 Fantasy points to opposing wideouts. Robinson enters Thursday with a four game touchdown streak.
Analysis: Robinson has seen his value in Fantasy explode in recent weeks as he continues to serve as a solid replacement for Miles Austin. His five touchdowns on the year surpass his total scores from his first four years in the league and he should continue to see looks in the red zone. Miami has given up 10 touchdowns to receivers thus far but none in the last three weeks. Still, he is trending up for the Cowboys so consider Robinson as no worse than a No. 2 Fantasy WR for Week 12.
News: Dallas wide receiver Laurent Robinson continued to come up huge with Miles Austin injured on Sunday of Week 11 at Washington. Robinson helped the Cowboys earn the overtime win on Sunday as he hauled in a 7-yard TD pass from Tony Romo in the fourth quarter. Robinson finished the game with four catches for 34 yards and the TD. He was targeted a game-high 11 times in the performance.
Analysis: Robinson has scored five touchdowns in the last four games and has a four-game TD streak working at the moment. Robinson will look to continue that streak Week 12 against Miami with Miles Austin expected to continue to sit out. There is a small chance that Austin could return, however, so Fantasy owners will have to be cognizant of that. The Dolphins are playing much better football of late, especially defensively, but have not been great against wide receivers all season. With Austin out, we expect Robinson to continue to get a lot of looks. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy WR for the Week 12 contest against the Dolphins.
News: With Miles Austin all but assured to miss yet another game for the Cowboys, Dallas WR Laurent Robinson should once again be a feature for Tony Romo in the passing game Week 11. Facing the Redskins in Washington, Robinson aims for his fourth straight game with a touchdown reception. In fact, Robinson, who caught a career-high two TD passes last week against Buffalo, has four touchdowns in his last three games. While the Redskins have been tough against wide receivers this season, they have also given up some big performances. Robinson is ecstatic in Dallas after several tumultuous seasons, reports the Dallas Morning News Wednesday. "I had some injuries, you know, a couple knickknacks," Robinson said. "I don't know. It worked out here and it's a blessing."
Analysis: Robinson caught three passes for 49 yards at home against the Redskins back in Week 3 and immediately followed that with a seven-catch, 116-yard performance. Robinson has been a must-start Fantasy receiver since Austin went down with 13 catches for 208 yards and four touchdowns in his last three games. In 2009 at Washington, Robinson caught six passes for 54 yards and a TD against the 'Skins. Fantasy owners should consider him a No. 1 Fantasy WR for the Week 11 game.
News: WR Laurent Robinson made sure Week 10 vs. Buffalo that the Cowboys forgot WR Miles Austin was sitting on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. Robinson only caught three passes Week 10, but two of them went for touchdowns. Robinson, who started because of Austin's injury, scored from 5 yards out in the first quarter and then got behind the defense for a 58-yard catch-and-run for a score in the second quarter. He finished with 73 yards.
Analysis: Robinson has now scored in three straight games and continues to thrive while Austin has been hurting for most of the season. You have to believe with his emergence that the Cowboys are going to be patient with Austin, so if Robinson is still available in your league, then make sure to put a waiver claim in for him this week. He will be a No. 2 Fantasy WR for Week 11 at Washington. Robinson had three catches for 49 yards in Week 3 against Washington.
News: Cowboys coach Jason Garrett heaped a ton of praise Friday toward WR Laurent Robinson, who will make his third start of the season Week 10 vs. Buffalo with Miles Austin hurting. When we throw the ball to him, good things seem to happen, Garrett said of Robinson, who has 368 yards and two touchdowns. Robinson has caught 24 of the 32 passes that has come his way this season, earning QB Tony Romo's trust. I think hes doing a great job, Romo said. Laurents got a great understanding of the offense. He puts himself where he needs to be at the right times. I trust him and hes an explosive player. Its a good combination to have.
Analysis: Robinson has said part of the reason for his success is because Garrett uses a similar system to that of Chargers coach Norv Turner. Robinson spent the preseason with San Diego. Robinson has developed into a reliable receiver for the Cowboys recently and recorded five catches in each of his past two games. Robinson posted his best outing of the season when Austin was sidelined earlier this year with another hamstring injury, gaining 116 yards on seven receptions against Detroit. Fantasy owners should consider him a solid addition in the majority of formats and as a quality replacement for Austin. Consider him a No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 10. WRs average 22 Fantasy points per week against Buffalo and have scored six times.
News: With WR Miles Austin reportedly expected to miss at least two weeks with a hamstring injury, Dallas WR Laurent Robinson is expected to slide into the starting lineup Week 10 vs. Buffalo. Robinson took over for Austin after he left in the second quarter of Week 9 against Seattle and finished with a team-high five receptions for 32 yards. He also scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter, the second straight game he has reached the end zone. Laurent has done a great job, Cowboys TE Jason Witten told the San Antonio Express-News. "Every opportunity hes gotten, he just makes plays."
Analysis: Robinson has developed into a reliable receiver for the Cowboys recently and recorded five catches in each of his past two games.
News: With WR Miles Austin leaving in the second quarter with a hamstring injury, Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson played a key role in the Cowboys' offense in a Week 9 victory over the Seahawks. He led all Dallas receivers with five catches, as he amassed 32 receiving yards on the afternoon. Robinson also scored the Cowboys' second and final touchdown of the game on a 6-yard reception early in the fourth quarter.
Analysis: Robinson didn't make any big-yardage plays, but as an important target for QB Tony Romo, he was able to help out Fantasy owners in Week 9. Should Austin be out for Week 10 against the Bills, Robinson would be his likely replacement yet again. That would make him a viable bye-week replacement for the coming week.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson turned some heads during Week 8 against Philadelphia when he recorded a 70-yard touchdown catch for his first score of the season. Robinson, who finished with five receptions for 103 total yards, will look to continue his momentum in Week 9 against Seattle. The Seahawks enter Sunday's game allowing 237.1 passing yards per game to opponents this season, 18th most in the NFL.
Analysis: With the Eagles' strong secondary focusing its attention on Miles Austin and Dez Bryant last Sunday, Robinson found himself with room to get open and led the Cowboys in receiving. It was the second time he has topped 100 yards this season, however he could struggle to hit that total again against a weaker Seattle defense. The Seahawks are permitting an average of 20.8 Fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts, but Dallas will be looking in the direction of its star receivers again. Consider Robinson a possible bye-week replacement for Week 9.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson was one of the few bright spots on his team in Week 8 against the Eagles. He caught five passes for 103 yards and a touchdown in the 34-7 loss. His first score of the season came when QB Tony Romo found him on a 70-yard strike in the fourth quarter. Robinson, who led Dallas in receiving, averaged 9.3 yards per catch in the defeat.
Analysis: Robinson has quietly emerged as a viable option behind Jason Witten, Miles Austin and Dez Bryant in the passing game and showed on Sunday that he can be just as dangerous. He is averaging a career-high 17.7 yards per catch and has five catches of at least 20-plus yards. Keep an eye on his production in the coming weeks to see if he can keep it up. But until he proves to be more consistent, consider Robinson as more of a low-end Fantasy WR for Week 9 against the Seahawks.
News: Dallas WR Laurent Robinson caught two passes for 25 yards in Week 7 against St. Louis. The Cowboys would win the game, 34-7. Robinson still has not found the end zone this season.
Analysis: Robinson is a role player in the Cowboys offense, taking a backseat behind Dez Bryant, Jason Witten and Miles Austin. As long as those three are healthy, Robinson is more of an after thought for Tony Romo. Fantasy owners should only own him for a bye-week replacement or as insurance for Austin and Bryant in case they get injured again down the road.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson came up with some big plays in Week 6 during what seemed to be Dallas' game-winning drive. He caught both passes thrown his way for a total of 43 yards. Dallas would end up losing to the Patriots 20-16.
Analysis: Robinson didn't get involved much offensively in Week 6 as both Miles Austin and Dez Bryant were back healthy. It seems Robinson will be able to contribute a little bit each week, but only enough to give him Fantasy value in deeper leagues. Fantasy owners of Austin or Bryant may want to hang onto Robinson just in case they miss time later in the season.
News: The Cowboys made a lineup change at wide receiver prior to their Week 4 game against Detroit. With Miles Austin out again due to injury, they decided to start Laurent Robinson at wide receiver over Kevin Ogletree. He finished the game with a team-high seven catches for 116 yards.
Analysis: Robinson finished the game tied for the team lead in pass targets with 10, along with tight end Jason Witten. After Dez Bryant got off to a game to a hot start, the Lions focused much of their attention in the secondary to him and that opened up plenty of space for Robinson to operate. However, while owners may be looking to flock to Robinson off the waiver wire we have to warn you that this is very likely just a one-week deal for Robinson. The Cowboys will be on a bye in Week 5 and figure to get Miles Austin back from a hamstring injury after that. This will push Robinson down the depth chart and make him a player to avoid in Fantasy, barring any further injuries. Just keep this performance in mind if he's ever in a similar situation.
News: The Cowboys made a lineup change at wide receiver prior to their Week 4 game against Detroit. With Miles Austin out again due to injury, they decided to start Laurent Robinson at wide receiver over Kevin Ogletree.
Analysis: Robinson should see an increase in targets as a result. He remains a very low-end play in Fantasy, but owners in very deep leagues who may be looking for a last-second replacement option could turn to Robinson. Ogletree should be reserved.
News: Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson is hoping for a bigger role on offense moving forward after posting 49 receiving yards in Week 3 and it seems the team is gaining confidence in him. Yeah, he did a good job, quarterback Tony Romo told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Made a great run after catch twice. Thats what we thought when we got him. Hes showing hes got some ability.
Analysis: Robinson is a five-year veteran that has mostly disappointed due to injuries. He was a final cut by the Chargers this preseason, but the reason he has had some early success with Dallas is because Dallas and San Diego use similar passing systems. The Cowboys are still hurting at receiver heading into Week 4 against the Lions, which means Robinson might get into the mix again Sunday. But he is really a desperation Fantasy option.
News: Stepping up with Miles Austin injured for the Monday night game against Washington, Dallas WR Laurent Robinson certainly played a part in the Cowboys win. Robinson caught three passes for 49 yards and his long grab of 25 yards helped set up the win for the Cowboys. Robinson was targeted five times with Austin out, once more than was Dez Bryant.
Analysis: With Austin out and Bryant hampered by an injury of his own, the Cowboys pulled Robinson out of the wood work. He really didn't look that bad considering this was his first game after being added to the roster on Tuesday. Robinson could become an option for the Cowboys, but we wouldn't use him Week 4 against the Lions, even if Austin has to keep sitting out.
News: The Cowboys released DB Bryan McCann on Tuesday. To take his place on the roster, WR Laurent Robinson was added.
Analysis: With Miles Austin expected to miss Week 3, and Dez Bryant also banged up, the team is in need of some depth at wide receiver. Regardless, Robinson is not expected to get enough playing time to be worthy of picking up in Fantasy.
News: The Dallas Morning News reports that Cowboys are expected to re-sign WR Laurent Robinson amid a series of injuries at wide receiver. Robinson was released last week by the team.
Analysis: With Miles Austin expected to miss Week 3, and Dez Bryant also banged up, the team is in need of some depth at wide receiver. Regardless, Robinson is not expected to get enough playing time to be worthy of picking up in Fantasy.
News: The Cowboys cut WR Laurent Robinson on Tuesday.
Analysis: Robinson was added to the roster last week as a sixth receiver, but he missed the opener against the Jets with a hamstring injury. Apparently he did little to impress the Cowboys, so now he is looking for work again. Continue to ignore him in Fantasy.
News: The Cowboys have signed WR Laurent Robinson, according to Scout.com.
Analysis: Robinson's biggest opponent over his career has been himself as he's been unable to stay healthy. We wouldn't trust him until he had regular playing time in Dallas.
News: Among those released by the Chargers on Saturday are WRs Kelley Washington, Laurent Robinson and Seyi Ajirotutu. Robinson was signed this offseason after getting hurt last year with the Rams, Washington made the Chargers for part of last season but didn't do much and Ajirotutu worked late in the year when San Diego's receiving corps was in shambles.
Analysis: As free agents, none of these receivers warrant Fantasy use going forward. If they sign elsewhere and land a role in the offense, then they could be worth a look off waivers.
News: Multiple sources reported Wednesday that the Chargers have come to an agreement with former Rams WR Laurent Robinson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Robinson has had some injury-plagued seasons in St. Louis, but he was able to suit-up for 14 games in 2010. He hauled in 34 passes for 344 yards and a pair of scored while starting 11 games.
Analysis: Robinson had a minimal chance to return to the up-start Rams when they took a pair of WRs in the draft and signed Mike Sims-Walker early in free agency. The Chargers have gone through some changes in their WR corps as well, so Robinson actually has a shot at decent playing time. The only problem is that he has a hard time staying healthy, playing in just 38 of a possible 64 games in his NFL career. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his health and production with his new team, though we still don't suggest selecting him on Draft Day until he proves his worth.
News: With a third-round pick the Rams added size to their receiving corps with Boise State WR Austin Pettis. Standing at 6-foot-3 and 209 pounds, Pettis finished college as the Broncos' all-time leading receiver. He scored 39 touchdowns and caught 229 balls for 2,838 yards. He could very easily push out Laurent Robinson, a free agent to be, from returning to the team in 2011.
Analysis: The injury prone Robinson caught 34 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns with the Rams last year. The team might not miss him very much. Keep him off of Fantasy rosters.
News: St. Louis WR Laurent Robinson caught three passes for 25 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' 25-17 victory over San Francisco in Week 16 on Sunday. Robinson scored on a 3-yard pass from QB Sam Bradford in the fourth quarter to record his second touchdown of the season and first since Week 1 of the season.
Analysis: After posting three consecutive three-catch games, Robinson had his highest reception total since collecting four against Denver in Week 12. He was targeted four times by Bradford but has still been a disappointment for St. Louis and Fantasy owners this season. He should not be owned in any Fantasy formats for the remainder of the season.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson was somewhat productive in Week 14 against the Saints. Robinson was targeted seven times in the 31-13 loss and finished with two receptions for a season-high 61 yards. He averaged 30.5 yards per reception and had a long of 32 yards in the contest.
Analysis: Robinson has missed a few games due to injury this season and has 27 receptions on the year. While his speed gives him the ability to stretch the field and make big plays, Robinson simply doesn't see enough pass thrown in his direction on a weekly basis to be worth starting in most Fantasy leagues. Leave him on the waiver wire heading into Week 15 against the Chiefs.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson was not much of a factor in Week 13 against the Cardinals. Robinson was targeted twice in the 19-6 and finished with two receptions for 24 yards. He averaged 12 yards a reception and had a long of 24 yards in the contest.
Analysis: Robinson has missed a few games due to injury this season and only has 25 receptions to date. He simply doesn't see enough pass thrown in his direction on a weekly basis to be worth starting in most Fantasy leagues. Leave him on the waiver wire heading into Week 14 against the Saints.
News: St. Louis WR Laurent Robinson provided the Rams with some quality minutes in Week 12. He had been dealing with a toe issue during the week leading up to the game, but was healthy enough to start. He was targeted six times, catching four passes for 58 yards. For a second straight week he recorded more than 50 yards receiving.
Analysis: Robinson has missed a few games due to injury this year and has also had a few really poor outings. He still hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 1, but he is a viable receiver for Sam Bradford. Robinson hasn't been able to get into a rhythm this year, but could be turning things around. St. Louis travels to Arizona in Week 13, a team that has been giving up 261.7 passing yards per game. Until he starts producing consistently and finds the end zone, Robinson is not a recommended start in any Fantasy league.
News: St. Louis WR Laurent Robinson was dealing with a toe issue during the week, but was deemed healthy enough to play in Week 12. He's coming off a game where he was targeted a team-high 11 times by Sam Bradford.
Analysis: Robinson has been seeing an increase of looks in recent weeks with injuries hitting the rest of the Rams' receivers. The Rams aren't a high-powered offense, but they have a lot of young players. Until he starts scoring and increases his yardage, Robinson isn't a recommended start in Fantasy leagues.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson was the most-targeted player on his team in Week 11 against the Falcons. He saw 11 passes thrown his way from QB Sam Bradford, catching five of them for a season-high 55 yards in the 34-17 loss. Robinson's 24-yard catch in the first quarter set up St. Louis' first score, a 25-yard touchdown strike to TE Michael Hoomanawanui.
Analysis: Robinson has been seeing more passes thrown his way in recent weeks and has started to put up better stats after being limited with injuries earlier in the year. Bradford's progression has also led to his improved receptions. Robinson's 6-2, 197-pound frame makes him a viable red-zone threat, but the 25-year-old has just one touchdown grab on the year. Continue to view the former Redbird as a low-end option in the deepest of formats heading into Week 12 against the Broncos.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson had a decent game in Week 10 against the 49ers. With WR Danario Alexander out due to a knee injury, Robinson caught two passes for 24 yards in the 23-20 overtime loss. He was targeted six times by QB Sam Bradford and averaged 12 yards per reception.
Analysis: Robinson had a season-high five catches for 33 yards in his last game but took a step back in Week 10. He had plenty of passes thrown his way but was only able to come up with two of them. While Alexander being out helps his Fantasy value, his numbers remain too low to be a viable option in most leagues. Continue to view Robinson as a low-end option in the deepest of formats heading into Week 11 against the Falcons.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson was targeted six times by QB Sam Bradford in the Week 8 win over Carolina. Robinson came down with five catches for 33 yards in the game. He averaged 6.6 yards per catch and had a long of 16 yards. He did not score.
Analysis: Robinson's five catches were a season high by two grabs. His 33 yards receiving were a season high by 15 yards. Clearly, Robinson is not a consistent Fantasy option. He should be ignored in most leagues, especially as the Rams are on bye in Week 9. They return Week 10 at San Francisco.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson caught two passes for 9 yards in the Week 7 loss at Tampa Bay. Robinson was targeted by QB Sam Bradford four times.
Analysis: Robinson had his best game since Week 1 when he went for three grabs for 18 yards and a score. That should be very telling to the fact that he has almost zero Fantasy value at this time. Robinson should not be used in Week 8 against Carolina.
News: Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said early Monday afternoon that he had not yet spoken with GM Billy Devaney about finding a replacement for leading WR Mark Clayton, who is out for the season with a torn right patellar tendon that he suffered in Week 5. Spagnuolo did talk about young WRs Brandon Gibson, Mardy Gilyard and Laurent Robinson filling the void left by the injury to Clayton. We certainly dont feel good about losing Mark, because he made a lot of plays for us," Spagnuolo said. "But weve got to find a way to overcome that.
Analysis: Robinson returned to the lineup in Week 5 against the Lions after missing a few games with injury. He managed just one catch for 11 yards, however. Robinson has always been one of those really talented receivers, but his career has been horribly set back because of a slew of injuries. But with Clayton out of the picture, he could be a big-play receiver for the Rams. Consider taking a flier on Robinson in the deepest of Fantasy formats, but he is definitely a wait-and-see project.
News: WR Laurent Robinson returned from an ankle injury that kept him out for two weeks, as he played in the Rams' 44-6 loss at Detroit in Week 5. Though Rams QB Sam Bradford passed the ball 45 times in the defeat, Robinson was targeted just twice, making one catch for 11 yards. He now has five receptions for 33 yards on the season.
Analysis: Aside from scoring a touchdown in Week 1 against the Cardinals, Robinson has not done much to help Fantasy owners, even when he has been well enough to play -- and even with top target Mark Clayton out with a serious knee injury for most of the game in Week 5. With a tough matchup against the Chargers ahead in Week 6, owners can take a pass on Robinson in all formats for the coming week.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson will play against the Lions in Week 5. He missed the last two weeks with an ankle injury. In two games to date, he has four receptions for 22 yards and a touchdown.
Analysis: Even when healthy, Robinson is not one of QB Sam Bradford's top targets. However, Bradford may go to the air often and spread the ball around, given that the Lions have one of the more porous pass defenses in the league. Robinson is worth rostering in deeper leagues, at least for Week 5.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson was back at practice in full Wednesday after missing the team's last two games. The team is optimistic that he'll be back in action in Week 5 against the Lions.
Analysis: It was believed that Robinson was out with a foot injury, but the Rams put on their practice report that he was out with an ankle issue. Regardless, Robinson is coming back just in time to face a Lions defense ranked 26th vs. the pass with eight passing touchdowns allowed through four weeks. Owned in just nine percent of CBSSports.com leagues, Robinson provides some decent depth for Fantasy owners and is worth a look in deeper leagues -- especially if you're desperate for receiving help in Week 5.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson (foot) was listed among the inactives for Week 4 vs. Seattle. He did not practice all week.
Analysis: Robinson has dealt with this injury for more than a month now. Even when healthy, he is a reserve Fantasy option that should be stashed away in all formats.
News: WR Laurent Robinson is listed as doubtful for the Week 4 game against the Seahawks with an ongoing foot problem. He has not practiced all week and missed the Week 3 win against Washington. Robinson did play well against Seattle in 2009, totaling 87 yards on five catches (his second highest career total).
Analysis: Robinson was in a boot, but it seems like he will have to miss another game. Even when healthy, he is a reserve Fantasy option that should be stashed away in all formats.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson, who missed practice all week with an ongoing foot issue, will (if healthy) take on the Seahawks for the third time in his career when the two division rivals meet in Week 4. In Week 1 last season, Robinson had five catches for 87 yards, the second-biggest yardage haul of his career. The Seahawks rank 30th against the pass this season.
Analysis: Robinson was in a boot last week and might not be ready for Week 4 action. Even if he is, the 25-year-old won't be at 100 percent and should just continue to be stashed away in very deep Fantasy formats.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson, who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with an ongoing foot issue, will take on the Seahawks for the third time in his career when the two division rivals meet in Week 4.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson did not practice Wednesday as he continues to deal with a foot injury that ruled him out of Week 3's win over Washington.
Analysis: Robinson has four catches for 22 yards so far this season, even though he usually starts opposite Mark Clayton when healthy. If you own Robinson in a deeper Fantasy format, keep an eye on his status heading into Sunday, but he would be just a low-end flex option at best.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson is inactive for Sunday's game against Washington in Week 3. Robinson is dealing with a foot injury, and was listed as doubtful coming into the game. He missed practice Thursday and Friday.
Analysis: We'll continue to monitor Robinson's status heading into Week 4 against Seattle. When healthy, Robinson is a low-end Fantasy WR and is not worth starting in the majority of leagues.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson has a nagging foot injury that just wont go away, according to coach Steve Spagnuolo. Robinson is listed as doubtful for Week 3 against the Redskins after missing practice Thursday and Friday. If Robinson can't play Sunday, then either Danny Amendola, Brandon Gibson or Mardy Gilyard will start in his place.
Analysis: This is a bad time for Robinson to get injured, seeing how the Redskins have given up a NFL-high 579 yards to wide receivers. Wideouts have also scored four times against Washington. It does appear he will miss Week 3, so don't plan on starting Robinson in Fantasy. This guy just has the toughest time staying healthy.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson (foot) didn't practice on Thursday as he's been dealing with a foot injury. It is unrelated the leg injury that kept him sidelined last year. The fourth-year receiver will look to improve from his Week 2 outing of one catch for 4 yards. With the Redskins on the horizon in Week 3, the Rams will try to get their offense clicking as they've averaged just 210 yards through the air to start the season.
Analysis: In one career game against the Redskins, Robinson caught six passes for 54 yards and a score. With veteran Mark Clayton quickly becoming rookie QB Sam Bradford's favorite target, Robinson will have to step up his game. At this stage of the game Robinson should not be starting in any Fantasy leagues heading into Week 3.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson (foot) was limited in his participation at practice Wednesday as St. Louis prepares for their Week 3 game vs. the Redskins.
Analysis: Robinson was dealing with an ankle injury last week, but he shook it off to make one catch for 4 yards in a loss to the Raiders. Even though Robinson has dropped to the No. 2 option for QB Sam Bradford behind veteran Mark Clayton, he is still worth stashing away in deeper Fantasy leagues just in case his value bounces back at some point in 2010. Do not start him right now, though.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson did not have a stellar game in Week 2 against the Raiders. After being limited in practice all week with an ankle injury, he only caught one pass for four yards in the 16-14 loss. Robinson was targeted four times in the loss, good for third best on St. Louis.
Analysis: Robinson caught three passes for 18 yards and a touchdown in the season opener but did not put up many stats in Week 2. He had an MRI earlier in the week and everything looked normal but the 25-year-old could still be dealing with his injury. Robinson was expected to be the No. 1 option for the Rams coming into the season but Mark Clayton might have taken over that role. He faces a Redskins defense next Sunday that gave up 497 yards passing and three touchdowns in Week 2 against the Texans. Fantasy owners should consider Robinson as a low-end option in deeper leagues for Week 3.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson was listed as active for Week 2 against the Raiders. The 25-year-old had been limited in practice with an ankle injury but was able to play against an Oakland defense that gave up 154 yards passing and two touchdowns in their opener. Robinson had three catches for 18 yards in the season opener, including a 4-yard touchdown catch against Arizona.
Analysis: Robinson had an MRI earlier in the week and everything looked normal. Every week Robinson takes the field we get nervous since he always seems dinged up. He saw the second most targets on his team in Week 1 but was only able to convert 1/3 of those opportunities. With the emergence of Mark Clayton in St. Louis, Robinson is a low-end option for Week 2.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson (ankle) returned to a full practice on Friday and was then listed as probable for Week 2 at Oakland. Robinson had three catches for 18 yards in the season opener, including a 4-yard touchdown catch against Arizona. He faces a Raiders defense in Week 2 that gave up 154 yards passing and two touchdowns in their opener against the Titans.
Analysis: Robinson had an MRI earlier in the week and everything looked normal, so he appears ready to resume his 2010 season in Week 2. Every week Robinson takes the field we get nervous since he always seems dinged up. He saw the second most targets on his team in Week 1 but was only able to convert 1/3 of those opportunities. With the emergence of Mark Clayton in St. Louis, Robinson is a risky Fantasy play for Week 2.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out the day before but was limited due to an ankle injury, which he suffered in Week 1 against the Cardinals. Robinson, who is listed as day to day, had three catches for 18 yards in the season opener, including a 4-yard touchdown catch. He faces a Raiders defense in Week 2 that gave up 154 yards passing and two touchdowns in their opener.
Analysis: Robinson had an MRI earlier in the week and everything looked normal so Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his progress leading up to Week 2. He saw the second most targets on his team in Week 1 but was only able to convert 1/3 of those opportunities. He should be able to play on Sunday but will likely not be at 100 percent. With the emergence of Mark Clayton in St. Louis, Robinson should be avoided in most leagues against the Raiders in Week 2.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson did not practice on Wednesday because of an ankle injury suffered in Week 1 against the Cardinals. Robinson, who had a touchdown in Week 1, is day to day leading up to Week 2 against the Raiders.
Analysis: Robinson had an MRI earlier in the week and everything looked normal, but this could be an issue Robinson deals with leading up to inactives on Sunday. Here we go again with the oft-injured receiver. He is expected to be one of the Rams' leading receivers with Donnie Avery out for the season, but Robinson needs to stay healthy first. If he is active for Week 2, he is nothing more than a low-end Fantasy start for the deepest of formats.
News: Wide receiver Laurent Robinson was in a walking cast on his right leg after aggravating an ankle injury, though Spagnuolo said the MRI looked "pretty normal." Robinson caught a touchdown pass on the final play of the first half to tie it at 10 and finished with three catches for 18 yards with the touchdown.
Analysis: We expect Robinson to play against the Raiders, but he might not play every snap and certainly won't be at 100 percent. We prefer Mark Clayton and Danny Amendola over Robinson at this point, so keep the lanky receiver out of active Fantasy lineups for now.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson only caught three passes against the Cardinals in Week 1 but one of them tied the game. St. Louis surprised everybody on a fourth-and-goal from the one yardline. Instead of handing off to Pro Bowl RB Steven Jackson, they went play-action and QB Sam Bradford hit Robinson to tie the game 10-10 on the final play of the first half. Robinson was targeted nine times in the game and finished with 18 yards receiving.
Analysis: Robinson saw the second most targets on his team in Week 1 but was only able to convert 1/3 of those opportunities. He should snag more passes as his rapport with Bradford develops and will see a lot of playing time after catching 13 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown a year ago. He will face off against the Raiders next Sunday so consider Robinson a low-end option for Week 2.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson has been banged up in the preseason but appears to be ready to go for Week 1 against the Cardinals. With Donnie Avery out for the season, the 25-year-old could his role increase in the Rams passing game. In one career game against Arizona, Robinson caught a career-high seven passes for 114 yards and a touchdown but that was in 2007 when he was a part of the Falcons.
Analysis: Robinson caught 13 passes last season for 167 yards and a touchdown. He has been injured each of the past two years but could have a decent season if he can stay healthy in 2010. He will have a rookie QB throwing his way but he will be one of the top-two options in St. Louis. The Cardinals dont fare as well against the pass but Fantasy owners should consider Robinson a low-end option for Week 1.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson is still fighting health issues with an ankle injury and a mid-foot sprain, according to coach Steve Spagnuolo, who added that he wouldnt be surprised if Robinson doesnt practice Monday just to get him healthy.
Analysis: Getting Robinson healthy became that much more important after the Rams lost WR Donnie Avery for the season. St. Louis is thin at receiver, so they need the oft-injured Robinson to stay healthy. As for his Fantasy appeal, we are going to have to err on the side of caution since Robinson could be catching passes from a rookie QB this season. He remains just a late-round Fantasy option.
News: With the news Friday that WR Donnie Avery, who was injured in the second quarter of Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots going up for a Sam Bradford pass, is going to miss the 2010 season with a torn ACL, Danny Amendola and Laurent Robinson stand to gain from Avery's absence. Robinson was held without a catch on Thursday and coach Steve Spagnuolo announced on Friday that Robinson is battling foot soreness. He will be monitored closely over the next week.
Analysis: The good news for Robinson is that he should see more targets in Avery's absence. The bad news is that he is battling another injury. Robinson hasn't played a full season in his career due to injury and has played just nine games the last two seasons. He is coming off a fractured leg, but if he can stay healthy in 2010, then he can help the Rams' passing game. As for his Fantasy appeal, we are going to have to err on the side of caution since Robinson could be catching passes from a rookie QB this season. He remains just a late-round Fantasy option.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson started opposite WR Donnie Avery during Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots. Robinson was targeted four times in the game, but he failed to record one catch. Three targets came from starting QB Sam Bradford in the first half, with his last target coming from Thaddeus Lewis in the fourth quarter and it was also picked off by the Patriots on a badly overthrown pass. Still, Robinson was more fortunate than Avery, who suffered a significant right knee injury.
Analysis: The Rams weren't really deep at receiver prior to Avery's injury, so now they must scramble to find reliable targets before the season begins. Enter Robinson. He hasn't played a full season in three years in the NFL, but he showcased some talents as a rookie in 2007 with Atlanta and had a career-high 12.8 yards per catch in 2009 in three games with St. Louis before his season ended due to a fractured leg. Robinson is clearly an injury-risk player himself, but he could have a breakout campaign in 2010, if he stays healthy. We wouldn't consider him more than a wait-and-see Fantasy project.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson took a big step Saturday in his return from a fractured leg that ended his 2009 season after only three games. He started St. Louis' preseason opener against the Vikings, and caught two of three passes directed his way for 27 yards.
Analysis: Robinson was off to a nice start in 2009 before he was injured, catching 13 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown in three games. Even if he's healthy, he is still young and unproven, and the Rams figure to struggle on offense this season. He should only be drafted late in the deepest of Fantasy leagues as a potential sleeper.
News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Rams WR Laurent Robinson is healthy. For Robinson, it meant a full recovery from a fractured leg and ankle sprain that ended his 2009 season after only three games. He was among the Rams' best receivers during the early part of last season. He recorded 13 catches for 167 yards and a touchdown before he suffered his injury Sept. 27 against Green Bay. "It was extremely frustrating," he said. "A part of me felt like I let the team down. It was a rough season, just watching it and not being able to participate with my teammates. It was frustrating, sitting back and watching it on TV." Entering his fourth season, he said he is eager to make up for the lost time. "My expectations are high," he said. "I'm ready to go out there and do everything I can do to help this team win. When the opportunity presents itself, I'm going to make it happen."
Analysis: We like Robinson as a sleeper this year. He played well in 2009 before getting hurt, and now he has a chance to play even better with new QB Sam Bradford. Plan on drafting Robinson with a late-round pick in deep leagues this season.
News: The Rams made Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, and it's in St. Louis where he'll play and attempt to resurrect the once-proud franchise. That stands to help the Rams' receiving corps, which underperformed for much of the 2009 campaign with the likes of Marc Bulger, Kyle Boller and Keith Null under center. Donnie Avery stands to benefit the most from Bradford's arrival as he's the most polished receiver on the Rams, but Laurent Robinson should also improve as well.
Analysis: Robinson is looking to pick up where last season ended. In 2009, Robinson was headed toward a breakout season for the Rams before breaking his leg in Week 3. Prior to that, Robinson had 13 catches for 167 yards and one touchdown. He has potential to play well this year with Bradford now under center. Consider him a sleeper worthy of a late-round pick, and it helps that he's entering a potential contract year.
News: The St. Louis Rams have placed wide receiver Laurent Robinson on injured reserve. Robinson, who leads the Rams with 13 receptions with one touchdown as their emerging go-to receiver, has a right ankle sprain and a fractured leg. He will not play again this season.
Analysis: Robinson was easily the Rams' best receiver, and also one of the early-season surprises for Fantasy owners. Once his season is officially over, you can drop Robinson from rosters for the rest of the 2009 campaign. Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton will remain parts of the Rams' offense, but neither receiver is expected to see a huge bump in production and be worthy of owning in Fantasy.
News: St. Louis will be without wide receiver Laurent Robinson, who leads the Rams with 13 catches, for the rest of the season. He suffered a high right ankle sprain and a fractured fibula in Week 3 vs. Green Bay.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson caught two passes for 26 yards in Week 3's game against the Packers before he got injured. Robinson had to helped off the field after getting his ankle smashed by a Packers defender and has what the Rams are calling a right ankle sprain. Robinson could not walk to the locker room and was taken in on a cart. He could not return.
Analysis: Robinson has 13 catches for 167 yards and a touchdown thus far this season and has been St. Louis' best overall receiver in the early going. Hopefully he'll be able to return Week 4 at San Francisco. The 49ers have a solid pass defense and a healthy Robinson would likely be just a No. 3 or 4 WR.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson will face a non-division opponent in Week 3 vs. Green Bay. The Packers have allowed 434 net passing yards over the first two weeks of the season along with four touchdown passes. They rank 15th in the NFL in pass defense.
Analysis: Robinson will be up against a middle-of-the-road pass defense in Week 3 and he has been a flying under Fantasy radars so far this season which could make for a good sleeper pick. He has had at least five catches in the first two weeks and is coming off a week in which he caught a touchdown pass at the Redskins. He doesn't have the track record of a viable No. 2 WR, but we recommend him as an injury-replacement play or as a No. 3 or 4 WR.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson was Marc Bulger's top option on Sunday of Week 2 in a loss at Washington. Robinson made six receptions and went for 54 yards. Robinson found the end zone on a two-yard pass play from Bulger in the 2nd quarter.
Analysis: Robinson has easily been the Rams' best receiver thus far this season. He has already made 11 catches for 141 yards and has the touchdown. We can't call him anything but a low-end option for Week 3, however. The Packers are a solid defense and the Rams offense was not especially solid against Washington. Still, you should begin to look at Robinson as a possible sleeper going forward.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson will face a non-division opponent in Week 2 at Washington. The Redskins allowed 248 net yards passing in Week 1 at the Giants, including one touchdown pass. Robinson led the team in receiving in Week 1 in a 28-0 loss to the Seahawks. He made five catches in the game for a total of 87 yards.
Analysis: Robinson broke a 45-yard reception late in the fourth quarter to make his stat line look a lot better. Robinson had a great preseason but was pretty quiet in his first '09 regular season game outside of his big catch and Fantasy owners should not look to start Robinson in Week 2 against the Redskins.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson led the team in receiving on Sunday in a 28-0 loss to the Seahawks. He made five catches in the game for a total of 87 yards. He broke a 45-yard reception late in the fourth quarter to make his stat line look more respectable.
Analysis: Robinson had a great preseason but was pretty quiet in his first '09 regular season game against Seattle until that one big pass play. The Rams' passing offense is not expected to be too good and Robinson will likely struggle to score too often. Keep thinking of him as a low-end Fantasy WR for Week 2's contest against the Redskins, which have a tougher defense than Seattle's.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson will face a division opponent in Week 1 at Seattle. Robinson did not play against the Seahawks in either game last season.
Analysis: Robinson had a big preseason and is showing he wants to be an integral part of the Rams' passing game. A lanky receiver who has had hamstring issues in the past, Robinson is worth taking a flier on him in deeper leagues as a sleeper. However, we don't recommend starting him until he can establish himself.
News: Rams WR Laurent Robinson totaled three catches for 20 yards during Thursday's preseason game against the Bengals. He was targeted four times in the game. Robinson has 10 catches for 137 yards in three preseason contests.
Analysis: Robinson is having a big preseason and is showing he wants to be an integral part of the Rams' passing game. A lanky receiver who has had hamstring issues in the past, Robinson is worth a late-round flier in drafts at this point as a reserve. In smaller standard leagues, you'll probably find more value in him off the waiver wire if he continues to post relevant minutes during the season.
News: Playing with the first-team offense again Friday against the Falcons, Rams WR Laurent Robinson caught five passes for 65 yards and according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, has established himself as a starter. Robinson has seven grabs for 117 yards this preseason. "I like this offense a lot. I'm very confident and comfortable in it," Robinson said after the game. "I'm just working hard every day in practice, just going out there and trying to be the best I can be. If the ball comes my way, it's an opportunity for me to make a catch, and I did that tonight."
Analysis: Robinson was acquired via trade this offseason and has overcome weak competition to seemingly land this spot. A lanky receiver who has had hamstring issues in the past, Robinson is worth a late-round flier in drafts at this point as a reserve. In smaller standard leagues, you'll probably find more value in him off the waiver wire if he continues to post relevant minutes during the season.
News: In the Rams' Week 1 preseason game at the Jets, WR Laurent Robinson stood out when he nicely hauled in a 50-yard pass from Marc Bulger in the first half. He also had another catch, but it went for just 2 yards. He led the Rams in receiving.
Analysis: Robinson was acquired via trade this offseason and has as good a shot as anyone to crack the Rams' starting lineup, especially with Donnie Avery sidelined. A lanky receiver who has had hamstring issues in the past, he's barely worth a late-round flier in drafts at this point. You'll probably find more value in him off the waiver wire if he has relevant minutes during the season.
News: With Rams WR Donnie Avery (foot) out at least four weeks, there is an opening for other receivers on the depth chart to step up. Coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday that Laurent Robinson, Tim Carter and Ronald Curry will all get a chance to make plays now that Avery is out for the early part of the season. Said Spagnuolo on Robinson and Carter: "I thought he (Robinson) came in to training camp in great shape, really ready. The attitude, the way he carried himself he was really ready to step up and I think he's done that. And Tim Carter, he legitimately has speed, and he's played in the league so he has experience. Hopefully the combination of those two things will help us out." As for Curry, who was acquired in a trade this offseason from Detroit, "He's done everything in his career, and he's an experienced guy. He's skilled."
Analysis: We don't think any of these receivers are worth drafting in most standard leagues, but in deep formats there could be a sleeper in the bunch. Keep an eye on Curry because of his experience, and Robinson could also be worth a flier. But there's not much hope for the passing game in St. Louis until Avery returns.
News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams coaches are starting to gain confidence in young receivers Donnie Avery, Keenan Burton and Laurent Robinson after watching them perform during OTA workouts and minicamps. Avery and Burton will enter their second seasons with the Rams, Robinson his third in the NFL. Their combined statistics through four seasons: 108 receptions for 1,335 yards and five touchdowns. Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur can see the potential of the trio. "I like the guys we have," Shurmur said. "I think they're playing hard. They're working hard to get open, and they're really working hard at catching the football. I think they're all trying to think of themselves as playmakers, and that's what you want."
Analysis: We like Avery the best of this group, and he has the potential to be a No. 3 Fantasy WR this season. He's worth drafting with a late-round pick, but think of him as a No. 4 option on Draft Day. Burton and Robinson are candidates to add off the waiver wire, especially if QB Marc Bulger develops a rapport with these guys early on.
News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams are looking for help at the WR spot. Donnie Avery, Keenan Burton and Laurent Robinson finish the spring as the top three wideouts, but Burton has missed valuable practice time because of a hamstring injury. The report asks if there another Isaac Bruce or Torry Holt in that group, or among backups Brooks Foster, Tim Carter and Chad Lucas? "We have a ways to go," QB Marc Bulger said. "I don't think there will ever be another Torry and Isaac, but our guys are working hard. They're starting to make plays. I think they are playing faster now because they are starting to learn what's going on."
Analysis: Avery has the most potential of this group and should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy WR coming into the season. He's worth a mid-round pick. Burton and Robinson also have potential, but they are not worth drafting in most seasonal formats. Ignore Foster, Carter and Lewis coming into seasonal leagues this year on Draft Day.
News: According to the team web site, the Rams should be OK at wide receiver even though Torry Holt is gone one year after Isaac Bruce left the team. QB Marc Bulger isn't worried. "I think we're fine," Bulger said. "Like coach says, you always want more competition at every position. That makes us better. A lot of these kids I don't know some of their names. I know their numbers right now. But we have some speed; we have some guys that can move. Obviously, the guys we had last year are doing a great job, but we have some sleepers in there I think that are going to surprise you guys." As it stands, it appears second-year men Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton are all but sure things to sit atop the depth chart. Laurent Robinson, acquired from Atlanta via trade before the draft, is also right in the mix. Beyond that trio, the Rams have Derek Stanley recovering from a serious knee injury and fifth-round draft pick Brooks Foster.
Analysis: Avery has the most potential of this group and should be considered a strong No. 3 Fantasy WR coming into the season. He should assume the No. 1 spot and played well as a rookie. We also expect Burton to make some plays this year as the other starting option. Beyond that, Robinson can be a sleeper but only in deep formats, and Stanley and Foster aren't worth drafting coming into the year.
News: The Falcons have traded receiver Laurent Robinson to the Rams, allowing the Falcons to move up in the fifth and sixth rounds of this month's NFL draft. Robinson, a third-round pick in 2007, had only five catches for 52 yards while playing in only six games last season. He had 37 catches for 437 yards and a touchdown as a rookie in 2007.
Analysis: Robinson is a lanky speedster with decent height but very injury prone (tailbone, left knee and hamstring issues last season alone). However, we should consider it a good sign that the Rams dealt for him less than a week after their first minicamp of the offseason, suggesting that they need help at receiver and think Robinson can be a threat for them. He was buried on the Falcons' depth chart and won't be in St. Louis as long as he can stay upright. He's a safe late-round pick in deeper leagues as a sleeper. One thing is for sure: The Rams should likely be playing from behind a lot this year, giving the passing game ample opportunities to make plays and score.
News: The Falcons placed WR Laurent Robinson and CB David Irons on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, elevating DB Eric Brock from the practice squad and signing free-agent TE Marcus Pollard to take their place.
Analysis: Robinson missed several games this season with a hamstring injury and will be considered a candidate for a breakout 2009 since it will be his third season in the NFL. He and all the others listed here aren't worth a look in Fantasy play at this time.
News: The Falcons listed QB D.J. Shockley, WR Laurent Robinson, DB Brent Grimes, DB Glenn Sharpe, LB Tony Gilbert and DL Simon Fraser among their inactives for Week 15 against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: These players don't do enough statistically to matter in Fantasy even when active. Leave them all on waivers.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson (hamstring) is out for Week 13 at San Diego. He did not practice all week.
Analysis: Robinson has just five catches for 52 yards on the season and hasn't touched the ball since Week 3. Obviously he is not an integral part of the Falcons offense and can be ignored in Fantasy.
News: Falcons TE Ben Hartsock, TE Justin Peelle, WR Laurent Robinson, WR Harry Douglas and QB Chris Redman didn't record offensive statistics Week 11 against the Broncos.
Analysis: None of these players ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson, WR Brian Finneran and QB Chris Redman didn't record offensive statistics Week 9 at Oakland.
Analysis: None of these players ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers.
News: The Falcons listed the following players as inactive for Week 5 at Green Bay: QB D.J. Shockley (third QB), WR Laurent Robinson, TE Jason Rader, DB David Irons, LB Tony Gilbert, DL Jason Jefferson, OL Alex Stepanovich and OL Quinn Ojinnaka.
Analysis: None of the players on this list are going to be in line for considerable playing time anytime soon. Leave them on the waiver wire in all Fantasy leagues until further notice. They've got some depth chart climbing to do.
News: The Falcons have announced the inactives for their Week 4 game at Carolina. Not in uniform will be: QB D.J. Shockley (third QB), WR Laurent Robinson (knee), DB David Irons (coach's decision), LB Tony Gilbert (coach's decision), DE Simon Fraser (coach's decision) and TE Jason Rader (coach's decision).
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy value, so continue to ignore them in all formats.
News: The Falcons have declared WR Laurent Robinson out for Week 4 at Carolina because of sprained left knee. He missed practice for a third straight day Friday. Harry Douglas will likely play as the team's No. 3 WR in Robinson's absence.
Analysis: Robinson has five catches for 52 yards in three games this season. As the No. 3 receiving option on a run-heavy offense, he has little Fantasy appeal. Obviously, don't start him Week 4.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson is still wearing a brace on his left knee and probably will be inactive Week 4 against the Panthers. "Harry (Douglas) and (Brian) Finneran have been in the rotation in the first three games," coach Mike Smith said. "This will just increase their snaps. We have played five of the six receivers. Adam (Jennings) is going to have to be ready to go as well this week."
Analysis: Robinson has five catches for 52 yards in three games this season. His production has been all over the place and that likely has some to do with the development of rookie QB Matt Ryan. Robinson is too erratic to be trusted in Fantasy right now, and add to the fact he is injured, he is a prime candidate to sit in Week 4.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson had one catch for seven yards during a Week 3 win against the Chiefs. He caught the only pass thrown his way by QB Matt Ryan.
Analysis: Robinson didn't record any stats in Week 1 and ended up second on the team in receiving in Week 2 with four catches for 45 yards. Well, he was back to the bottom of the barrell in Week 3. Robinson is too erratic to be trusted in Fantasy right now. The Falcons play the Panthers Week 4.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson caught four passes for 45 yards in Week 2 at Tampa Bay. His longest catch went for 23 yards.
Analysis: Robinson didn't record any stats in Week 1 and ended up second on the team in receiving in Week 2. He seemed to have a nice rapport with rookie QB Matt Ryan and that could develop into something as the season progresses. He's not yet a viable Fantasy starter, but is worth scooping up in larger leagues with ample reserve spaces. Don't use him in Week 3 despite the promising matchup against Kansas City. He's too unpredictable at this point.
News: Atlanta WR Laurent Robinson played in Week 1's game against the Lions but did not record a catch or any Fantasy stats.
Analysis: Robinson has a chance to improve this year, but he remains a low-end Fantasy option for now. Consider him at best a No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy WR for Week 2 against Tampa Bay and don't start him.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson had one catch for 27 yards Friday against the Titans. He now has four catches for 75 yards during the preseason.
Analysis: Robinson played in 15 games, starting six last season, and ended 2007 with 37 receptions for 437 yards and a touchdown. Robinson has a chance to improve this year, but he remains a low-end Fantasy option for now. Consider him at best a No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy WR.
News:Falcons WR Laurent Robinson's week-long stint in the training room and off-field rehabilitation (bruised tailbone and surrounding muscles) cost him his projected starting job to Michael Jenkins, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He returned to drills last Thursday but he has to earn playing time. Robinson said he's still in some discomfort but knew he had to get back on the field because he recognized that this coaching staff doesn't concern itself too much with players not on the field.
Analysis: Robinson has a chance to improve this year, but he remains a low-end Fantasy option for now. Keep an eye on his progress but ignore him in all drafts in 2008.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution noted that second-year WR Laurent Robinson opened the club's recent minicamp as a starter opposite Roddy White. However, new head coach Mike Smith was quick to tell reporters not to rush to judgment as he expects several players to compete for the starting job opposite White.
Analysis: Robinson played in 15 games, starting six, and ended 2007 with 37 receptions for 437 yards and a touchdown, scored in Week 16 at Arizona. Robinson also lost a fumble. In time, Robinson has a shot to be a deep-threat burner along the lines of Joey Galloway, but with better size. The 6-foot-2 youngster from Illinois State will compete for a starting job but might end up being a slot receiver to provide mismatches for the Falcons' offense. He's not a bad late-round pick in standard 2008 drafts.
News: Falcons rookie WR Laurent Robinson played in 15 games, starting six, and ended 2007 with 37 receptions for 437 yards and a touchdown, scored in Week 16 at Arizona. Robinson also lost a fumble in his first season.
Analysis: In time, Robinson has a shot to be a deep-threat burner along the lines of Devery Henderson, but with better hands and size. The 6-foot-2 youngster from Illinois State will compete for a starting job next season but might end up being a slot receiver to provide mismatches for the Falcons' offense. He's not a bad final-round flier in standard 2008 drafts, depending on what direction the Falcons take on offense next season.
News: Falcons rookie WR Laurent Robinson caught seven passes for 114 yards and his first career touchdown in Atlanta's 30-27 overtime loss to the Cardinals in Week 16.
Analysis: Robinson's biggest outing coming into Week 16 was a 53-yard effort back in Week 7, so this performance came completely out of the blue. It gives Falcons owners hopes that someone can step up across the field from Roddy White, but he could just as easily vanish back into oblivion in Week 17. Do not start him against the Seahawks.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson led the Falcons with one catch for 18 yards in Week 15 at Tampa Bay.
Analysis: That's right. One catch and 18 yards actually led the team in a game where QB Chris Redman threw for a total of 34 yards. At this time, we recommend staying away from Falcons receivers.
News: Falcons rookie WR Laurent Robinson caught three passes for 48 yards Week 14 against the Saints.
Analysis: The 48 yards represented the rookie's second-best output this season, but Robinson is at best the third-best receiving option on a team with a poor all-around offense. Leave him on waivers for Week 15 at Tampa Bay.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson caught two passes for 10 yards in Atlanta's 28-16 loss to the Rams in Week 13.
Analysis: Robinson is way down the depth chart on a bad team, so clearly he doesn't have any Fantasy value at this time. The Falcons host the Saints in Week 14.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson, WR Adam Jennings, RB Corey McIntyre, TE Courtney Anderson, and QB Chris Redman didn't record statistics Week 12 against the Colts.
Analysis: None of these players makes enough of a statistical impact to have value in Fantasy. Leave all on waivers for Week 13 at St. Louis.
News: Making his first career start Week 11 against the Bucs, replacing the injured Joe Horn, Falcons rookie WR Laurent Robinson caught two passes for 43 yards.
Analysis: Robinson is at best the third-best receiving option on a team with a poor passing offense. Keep him on waivers for Week 12 against the Colts.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson had five catches for 32 yards in Week 10 vs. Carolina.
Analysis: Robinson's five catches were a season-high for him and he's not a receiver who is featured in a relatively weak pass offense. Leave him on the waiver wire until further notice.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson made two catches for two yards in Week 9 vs. San Francisco.
Analysis: Robinson is not a regular target in Atlanta's poor pass offense and is not a player worth owning in Fantasy play at this time. Leave him on the waiver wire until further notice.
News: Rookie WR Laurent Robinson once again saw decent action for the Falcons in Week 7 at New Orleans. He made three catches for 53 yards, including an acrobatic 25-yard grab on the sidelines late in the third quarter.
Analysis: With the Falcons involving Robinson in their offense more and more, it's only a matter of time before he's starting alongside Roddy White. It might not happen this year -- not officially, anyway -- but he could emerge as the second-best Fantasy option in Atlanta (albeit a low-end one). Keep him on the waiver wire, but continue to track his progress. The Falcons have a bye in Week 8 before hosting the 49ers in Week 9.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson caught one pass for eight yards Week 6 against the Giants.
Analysis: The Falcons have clearly made more of an effort to involve Robinson in their offense in recent weeks, throwing to the rookie more often than certain big-ticket free agents -- Joe Horn, we're looking at you. Consider Robinson the No. 3 option for the Falcons and a No. 5 option in Fantasy but keep him on the waiver wire at New Orleans in Week 7.
News: Laurent Robinson had 27 yards receiving on a team-high four receptions Week 5 at the Titans. He's now had four catches in two straight games.
Analysis: The Falcons have clearly made an effort to involve Robinson in their offense in recent weeks, throwing to the rookie more often than certain big-ticket free agents -- Joe Horn, we're looking at you. Consider Robinson the No. 3 option for the Falcons and a No. 5 option in Fantasy but keep him on the waiver wire against the Giants in Week 6.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson caught four passes for 31 yards Week 4 against the Texans.
Analysis: Robinson outperformed Joe Horn by a whole three catches and 26 yards. Freely consider him the Falcons No. 3 WR now, making him a No. 5 option in Fantasy. As such, leave him on the waiver wire for Week 5 at the Titans.
News: Falcons WR Laurent Robinson, QB Chris Redman, RB Artose Pinner and RB Corey McIntyre didn't record meaningful statistics in the Falcons' Week 3 loss against the Panthers.
Analysis: All four players rank low on the Falcons depth chart and have no Fantasy value. Keep them reserved Week 4 against the Texans.
News: The Falcons listed WR Laurent Robinson as inactive for Week 2's game at the Jaguars. He missed some time in practice this week with a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Hamstring players tend to nag players for awhile, so expect to see Robinson on the injury report next week too. Robinson currently sits at fourth on the Falcons' depth chart behind Joe Horn, Roddy White and Michael Jenkins, but he could eventually work his way into a more prominent role. Even now he holds value as a low-end receiver in deeper leagues, but only when healthy.
News: Michael Jenkins, a 2004 first-round pick who appeared on the verge of a breakthrough when he had seven touchdown receptions last year, had two drops while making only two catches for 13 yards. Jenkins, beaten out by Roddy White during the preseason, could lose playing time as the No. 3 receiver to rookie Laurent Robinson, who had three catches for 32 yards. "I thought he played pretty well," Petrino said of Robinson. "He definitely was not intimidated out there. He did look like his speed showed up on the field."
Analysis: Bottom line: There isn't a reliable receiver on the Falcons' roster other than TE Alge Crumpler and maybe Joe Horn. Jenkins, White and Robinson are all reserve options at this point, partially because of their quarterback and partially because they're yet to be proven as consistent options. Don't use any of them in Week 2 action when the Falcons play at Jacksonville.
News: Falcons rookie WR Laurent Robinson, listed as fourth on the depth chart, led Atlanta receivers with three catches for 32 yards in Week 1 at the Vikings. He played mostly late in the 24-3 loss, logging his catches after the Falcons abandoned the run to play catch-up.
Analysis: Robinson could eventually work his way into a more prominent role, but even now he holds value as a low-end receiver in deeper leagues. Sounds like the Falcons have use for him already, so continue to monitor his playing time. Consider him a low-end receiver in deeper leagues going into Week 2 at Jacksonville.
News:The Sports Xchange reports that Falcons WR Laurent Robinson will likely serve as a deep target Week 1 at Minnesota against a shaky Vikings secondary. The Vikings had the No. 1 run defense in the league last year, allowing only 61.6 yards per game. The Falcons, in turn, will likely pass early and often, setting up deep passes with short passes instead of runs.
Analysis: Robinson, a 6-foot-1, 193-pound rookie, can fly and made an impression on Falcons coaches this preseason. He could eventually work his way into a more prominent role, but even now he holds value as a low-end receiver in deeper leagues. Sounds like the Falcons have a plan for him already, so keep an eye on his performance and playing time this week.
News:The Sports Xchange reports that Falcons WR Roddy White has had a very, very good training camp and has emerged as the No. 2 wideout in most formations, opposite Joe Horn. Last season's No. 2 wideout, Michael Jenkins, is being utilized more in the slot. As good of a camp as White is having, rookie Laurent Robinson has really shone. He had five catches in the preseason opener at the Jets, including a few really tough catches in traffic. Robinson also is a multi-dimensional receiver. Though stretching the field deep is his strength, he's shown to be sturdy enough to deal with crossing routes and make yards after short and mid-range catches. Robinson's inexperience will keep him behind White, for now, but Petrino is going to find ways to showcase Robinson and possible get him more touches.
Analysis: A 6-foot-1, 193-pound speedster (4.41 in the 40-yard dash), Robinson could be a situational deep threat receiver for the Falcons this year, possibly starting for Atlanta as soon as 2008. Do not discount him; feel free to use a late-round flier on him in deeper seasonal leagues, a late-round pick in keeper leagues and an early- to middle-round pick in rookie-only drafts.
News: The Atlanta Falcons signed rookie WR Laurent Robinson and TE Martrez Milner to four-year contracts Wednesday. Robinson, a third-round draft pick, had 192 career receptions at Illinois State. The loss of veteran receiver Brian Finneran to a season-ending knee injury could help create room for Robinson to play as a rookie. Milner, a fourth-round pick from Georgia, is expected to compete for a backup spot at tight end. Milner led the Bulldogs with 30 catches for 425 yards last season.
Analysis: Both players will probably play on special teams as rookies and should not be drafted in any Fantasy leagues this year.
News: Aside from top pick DE Jamaal Anderson, the Falcons' 2007 draft class includes: Texas OL Justin Blalock, Arkansas CB Chris Houston, Illinois State WR Laurent Robinson, South Florida LB Stephen Nicholas, Georgia TE Martrez Milner, Washburn DT Trey Lewis, Auburn CB David Irons, Ohio State C Doug Datish, Maine SS Daren Stone and Virginia RB Jason Snelling.
Analysis: Blalock and Datish are quality players who should start sooner than later along the Falcons' O-line (Blalock as soon as this year). Houston and Nicholas will compete for starting jobs on defense, but Laurent Robinson might just be the best Fantasy sleeper in the crew. A 6-foot-1, 193-pound speedster (4.41 in the 40-yard dash), Robinson could be a situational deep threat receiver for the Falcons this year, possibly replacing Roddy White or Michael Jenkins as soon as 2008. The rest of the players will provide depth and help out on special teams.
