Analysis: Roby is a speedy kick-returner and kick cover-man who provides depth at WR for the explosive Saints. He has just one catch in the last four seasons combined, though, so he holds Fantasy value only in leagues that reward return yards. Otherwise, Roby should be ignored on Draft Day.

Roby was injured during a scramble for the ball after he fumbled a return in the second quarter.
Analysis: Roby doesn't put up enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep him off of rosters.

The coach says the Saints will "see where he's at this week." Roby was injured during a scramble for the ball after he fumbled a return in the second quarter. He was taken off the field on a stretcher after about a 10-minute delay.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Roby's status to see if he's OK for Week 15 at Baltimore, but he has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. Ignore him in all leagues against the Ravens.
News: Saints WR Courtney Roby's early prognosis is positive after he suffered a scary injury in Week 14 against the Rams. Roby took a knee to the neck while returning a kickoff in the second quarter and laid motionless on the turf for several minutes. He has finally strapped on a backboard and carted off the field before being taken to Ochsner Hospital for observation. The Saints announced he had feeling in his hands and feet and was conscious and alert as he left the field. With Courtney the news early on was real positive," coach Sean Payton told the New Orleans Times-Piscayune . "All of his movements and all those things they test for early on were good. That is a good thing."
Analysis: Roby was moving his extremities and talking while laying on the field, which is a good sign. While the injury appeared to be very scary, it appears Roby will be OK. He is mainly used on special teams and has no real Fantasy appeal at this point.

News: Saints WR Courtney Roby fumbled a kick return just before halftime during the Week 17 loss at Carolina and was injured on the play. He stayed down for several minutes and walked off with some help. The fumble afforded the Panthers a 41-yard field goal try before the half in which John Kasay hit and the Panthers went up 17-3 as they won the game handily.
Analysis: Roby is not expected to produce in Fantasy heading into next season. Hes not worth targeting on Draft Day next year.

News: Saints WR/KR Courtney Roby returned a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown in Week 10 at St. Louis. He did not have an offensive statistic in the game.
Analysis: Unless you are in a league that rewards kick return yardage significantly, Roby has no real Fantasy appeal. He is used primarily as a kick returner and rarely as a wide receiver.
News: Saints QB Mark Brunell, WR Courtney Roby, RB Kyle Eckel, TE Darnell Dinkins and TE David Thomas didn't record offensive statistics Week 9 against the Panthers.
Analysis: None of these players ever contributes enough statistically to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers.
News: The Saints will be without WR Lance Moore (ankle) on Sunday in the team's Week 9 game against the Panthers. Courtney Roby is expected to be the team's fourth receiver, although he doesn't figure to be prominent in the offense against Carolina.
Analysis: Moore has four catches for 29 yards and no scores in his last two games since going for 78 yards and a TD against the Giants. He should obviously be held out of all lineups for Week 9. Roby is not a recommended option for Week 9 either even though he could get a few looks from QB Drew Brees.

News:Courtney Roby and David Thomas were the only two Saints players not to record any offensive statistics in Week 6 against the Giants.
Analysis: Neither player will play a significant role this season. They should be left on waivers in all leagues.
News: Saints QB Mark Brunell, WR Courtney Roby and RB Lynell Hamilton didn't record offensive statistics Week 4 against the Jets.
Analysis: Hamilton scored a touchdown last week and looked like he might contribute with Mike Bell nursing a sprained knee, but the Saints clearly don't consider him a significant part of the offense. Leave him and these other two players on waivers.
News: Saints RB Heath Evans, QB Mark Brunell, WR Courtney Roby and WR Robert Meachem all dressed but failed to record an offensive stat Week 3 at Buffalo.
Analysis: While Evans and Meachem see the field regularly for the Saints, they aren't big factors in the offense. Most of these players won't help you on a regular basis in Fantasy and have marginal appeal heading into Week 4 against the Jets.
News: QB Mark Brunell and WR Courtney Roby did not record an offensive statistic in Week 1 at Philadelphia.
Analysis: Neither player is expected to play a significant Fantasy role this season and both players should be left on waivers until further notice.
News: The Saints have brought back kick return specialist and reserve receiver Courtney Roby. General manager Mickey Loomis announced the signing on Tuesday and said tight end Buck Ortega was waived to make room on the roster. Roby, now in his fourth year in the NFL, signed with the Saints during the 2008 season and served as the team's primary kickoff returner for five games before his season ended with an ankle injury. He averaged 24.8 yards on 19 kickoff returns for the Saints last season.
Analysis: Neither of these players were or are expected to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep them off of rosters for now.
News: The New Orleans Saints have re-signed kick returner Courtney Roby, who averaged nearly 25 yards per return last season. The Saints signed Roby during last season after he was released by the Indianapolis Colts. Roby played five weeks for the Saints, exhibiting his explosive speed on several returns, the longest going 62 yards. He missed the last two games of last season with an ankle injury.
Analysis: Roby won't produce enough offensive stats to warrant Fantasy use. As such, keep him off of rosters.
News: Saints WR Courtney Roby, mostly a kick return, left with a right ankle injury in the third quarter Week 14 against the Falcons. He didn't record an offensive statistic before leaving.
Analysis: Roby hasn't recorded an offensive statistic all season. Unless you play in a league that rewards special teams stats for offensive players, he has zero Fantasy value. Leave him on waivers for Week 15 at Chicago regardless of this injury.

Analysis: None of these players does enough statistically to make a difference in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers for Week 2 at Minnesota.
News: Receiver Tab Perry and safety Ethan Kilmer were placed on injured reserve Tuesday, ending their seasons for the Bengals. The Bengals also signed free agent receiver Courtney Roby to a two-year deal and activated cornerback Johnathan Joseph, who was suspended by the NFL for last Sunday's game in Kansas City. Perry severely injured his hip last season, but felt good in training camp and hoped to take the No. 3 receiver role. Perry played in the first two games, had one catch and returned seven kickoffs before the pain returned in his hip. Kilmer hasn't played all season because of a knee injury. Roby was a third-round draft pick by Tennessee in 1005. He played in 25 games, starting six, during his career with the Titans, which ended when he was waived on Sept. 1.
Analysis: None of these players should be involved in Fantasy play, either because they're not productive enough or because they're not playing again this season. The Bengals host the Jets in Week 7.
News: The Tennessee Titans released starting free safety Lamont Thompson and quarterback Tim Rattay among 20 players waived Saturday, choosing for now to go with Vince Young and his backup Kerry Collins. The Titans also released seven of their own draft picks including receiver Courtney Roby, a third-round draft pick in 2005 who had struggled to catch the ball. Other cut players include RB Quinton Ganther, LB Spencer Toone, CB Ryan Smith, WR Joel Filani, RB Dontrell Moore, LB Terna Nande, LB Colin Allred, TE Cooper Wallace, DE Josh Savage, DE Jason Hall, TE Jamie Petrowski, S Bryan Scott and DT Lauvale Sape (injured).
Analysis: Most of the cut players are either past their prime or have had little to no impact during their NFL careers. Ignore them in all Fantasy formats at this time.
News: The Tennessean reports that camp broke this week with no new answers on who will start and who will back up at receiver for the Titans. The paper cited Eric Moulds (who signed at the start of training camp) as the most consistent and Brandon Jones as the most improved. They also noted that Roydell Williams and Courtney Roby haven't made the jump that the team was counting on (Williams has missed several practices) while new WR Justin Gage will have a hard time just to make the team. Among the rookies, Chris Davis has done well compared to Paul Williams, and undrafted player Biren Ealy has caught the coaches' eyes and may beat out Joel Filani for a roster spot.
Analysis: Ultimately, the Titans are still trying to figure out their WR depth chart. Expect Moulds and Jones to start with Roydell Williams, Roby and Davis to be prominent backups. Fantasywise, only Moulds and Jones are worth a look as low-end reserve Fantasy wideouts. Roydell Williams, Roby and Davis are worth a late-round look in the deepest of keeper leagues.
News: In an interview with CBS SportsLine, Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow was very upbeat when speaking about third-year WRs Roydell Williams and Courtney Roby, who are competing for spots along the Titans' depth chart. "They have stepped up this offseason," Chow said. "They're showing the consistency that we're looking for, the understanding of the offense, getting to the right spots in a hurry and that kind of stuff." Chow was very positive about Williams specifically.
Analysis: Williams and Roby are two of three third-year receivers the Titans have -- the third being Brandon Jones, who most people expect to be the club's top receiver. Chow acknowledged that but said that he had work to do to claim that job. None of the three Titans' wideouts should be anything more than late-round fliers this season, but keep in mind that if QB Vince Young is going to have a stellar second season, someone's going to have to catch the ball.
News: Tennessee QB Vince Young is going all out to bring some of the Titans receivers to Houston to work out during a break in training in Nashville. Since being drafted in April 2006, the Houston native has talked about the importance of establishing a bond with his new teammates. WR Brandon Jones said Young, who's footing the bill for his teammates, made it clear their attendance was important. The Titans finished their last minicamp May 31 and aren't scheduled for another workout until June 19. The Titans need their receivers to fill the void following the departures of Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade, the team's top two receivers last year. Third-year WRs Courtney Roby and Roydell Williams are also in Houston, along with undrafted rookie Clinton Solomon.
Analysis: Young is working hard to develop a connection with his WRs. That should only improve his stock, and we see Young as a No. 1 Fantasy QB. As for his WRs, Jones is the best of the lot and is worth using as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy option. Roby, Williams and Solomon should not be drafted in Fantasy leagues, but they are worth keeping an eye on if they develop as the season goes on.
News: Titans WR Courtney Roby had one carry for three yards in a Week 16 win over the Bills.
Analysis: Roby has no Fantasy value heading into Week 17 against the Patriots and should garner no Fantasy attention heading into 2007.

Analysis: None of these players should be used in Fantasy play.
News: Notable Titans players who helped in their Week 13 win vs. Indy include: RB LenDale White (35 rush yards, 2-yard catch), RB Ahmard Hall (13 rush yards, 20 receiving yards), TE Bo Scaife (31 receiving yards), WR Courtney Roby (21-yard catch), WR Bobby Wade (18-yard catch), TE Ben Hartsock (16-yard catch) and a 17-yard catch for Pacman Jones (who also had eight total tackles).
Analysis: Most of these players are fringe or low-end options in Fantasy play, though Scaife and Wade are definite sleepers for Week 14 at Houston. Jones should remain used only in IDP leagues; White should be owned in all keeper leagues.
News: Titans backup QB Kerry Collins, TE Ben Harstock, TE Casey Cramer and WR Courtney Roby did not record an offensive statistic in Week 12 vs. the N.Y. Giants.
Analysis: None of these players should be in your active Fantasy lineup or roster until further notice.

Analysis: These players shouldn't be used in Fantasy play.
News: Titans TE Ben Troupe, QB Kerry Collins, TE Casey Cramer and WR Courtney Roby did not have any offensive statistics in Week 6 against the Redskins.
Analysis: Troupe has been disappointing so far this season. He just can't seem to become a primary target in the Titans offense. The hardest part is that QB Vince Young actually likes throwing to the tight end. Consider Troupe a No. 2 TE when the Titans return to action in Week 8 against the Texans. The other players are of no Fantasy value.
News: Titans TE Bo Scaife, WR Bobby Wade, TE Casey Cramer, WR Courtney Roby, WR Roydell Williams and QB Kerry Collins did not record an offensive statistic in Week 5 at Indianapolis.
Analysis: Outside of Scaife, none of these players have much Fantasy value moving forward. Scaife could see some decent games down the stretch, but he is not a Fantasy viable option for Week 6.
News: The Titans listed TE Erron Kinney, WR Courtney Roby, CB Eric King, WR Jonathan Orr, and DE Josh Savage as inactive for Week 4 vs. Dallas.
Analysis: None of these players should be in your active lineup at the moment.
News: Titans TE Erron Kinney will be inactive for today's game against Miami. Also inactive are FB Ahmard Hall, LB Robert Reynolds, WR Courtney Roby, WR Jonathan Orr and DE Antwan Odom.
Analysis: Kinney has yet to play this season, so keep him reserved in all leagues. The other players have no Fantasy value.
News: Notable Titans inactives for Week 2 include: QB Billy Volek (emergency quarterback), RB Travis Henry, FB Ahmard Hall, WR Courtney Roby, TE Erron Kinney, DT Robaire Smith and DE Antwan Odom.
Analysis: Only Henry and Kinney have significant Fantasy value for the season. The rest shouldn't be owned.
News: The following Titans are notable inactives for Week 1 vs. the N.Y. Jets: QB Billy Volek (emergency QB), RB LenDale White, CB Eric King, WR Courtney Roby, WR Jonathan Orr and DE Antwan Odom.
Analysis: LenDale White's absence means more carries for Titans starter Chris Brown and backup Travis Henry. All of the inactive players on this list should be reserved for Week 1.

Analysis: The rookie is not a good option vs. Seattle in Week 15.
News: With Brandon Jones (knee) and Roydell Williams (wrist) out for the season, Tyrone Calico and Courtney Roby will see more time on the field for the Titans.
Analysis: Roby is still no better than a reserve in most leagues in the Fantasy Football postseason.
News: TitansOnline.com reports Roydell Williams, not Courtney Roby or Tyrone Calico, will start in Week 13 at Indianapolis.
Analysis: Roby is not a recommended option in most leagues.
News: The Tennessean reports Brandon Jones (knee) is not expected to be active for Week 13. Roydell Williams, Courtney Roby and even Tyrone Calico could see more opportunities in his absence.

News: Titans rookie WR Courtney Roby was limited in his play in Week 12, catching one pass for 4 yards.

Analysis: Roby is not a recommended option for Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Analysis: Roby and the Titans are off in Week 10; do not use him vs. Jacksonville in Week 11.
News: Courtney Roby had seven receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Raiders, as he was the No. 1 receiving option with Brandon Jones (knee) out.

Analysis: Roby should not start for Fantasy owners unless they have no other options.

News: The Nashville Tennessean reports rookie Courtney Roby will battle rookies Brandon Jones and Roydell Williams for the team's No. 3 job.
Analysis: The former University of Indiana speedster might be a player worth keeping an eye on. Now that he has a Pro Bowl quarterback such as Steve McNair throwing to him instead of college starter Matt Delvecchio tossing up ducks, his talents might finally shine through.
