Titans tackles take shape following addition of Taylor Lewan

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/9/2014) The Titans might not start rookie offensive tackle Taylor Lewan until 2015, reports the Tennessean. But that all depends on the status of current left tackle Michael Roos, reports TitansInsider.com.

The Tennessean reports that Lewan will likely be the top reserve behind Roos and right tackle Michael Oher. It adds that "more than likely, Lewan is going to be a backup in 2014."

But TitansInsider.com reports that with Lewan in the fold, there is talk the Titans might move Roos. He is set to make $6.625 million this year and was paid a $1 million roster bonus last month.

The report adds that moving on from Roos would not cost the Titans anything cap wise since he is in the last year of his deal. But talk of the move is just speculation for now.

Titans select OT Taylor Lewan

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/8/2014) With the No. 11 pick in the NFL Draft, the Titans selected offensive tackle Taylor Lewan from Michigan.

Lewan is 6-foot-7, 309 pounds, and he played 50 games at left tackle with 48 starts for the Wolverines. He was a defensive lineman until his senior year in high school.

The Titans could use Lewan at either left or right tackle. They signed Michael Oher to play right tackle, and Michael Roos is currently at left tackle.

Titans should try to lock up Michael Roos

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2/24/2014) The Titans should try to extend the contract of left tackle Michael Roos, who's entering the final year of a six-year deal, reports the Tennessean. Roos allowed two sacks last season, "continues to play at a high level" and has been a "quiet, durable leader" throughout his career, the report said.
