The 28-year-old has collected 31 stops over his last four games and leads the Eagles in tackles and tackles for loss. Analysis: After averaging 5.0 tackles over his first four games, Ryans is averaging 11.3 over his last three, emerging as an elite contributor in the category after getting off to a slow start with his new team. Ryans isn't far removed from four straight 100-tackle seasons with the Texans, so now that he's on a roll, he's worth adding in just about all Fantasy IDP leagues.

News: According to the Houston Chronicle, the Texans are trading linebacker DeMeco Ryans to the Eagles for a fourth-round draft choice in 2012. The trade is contingent on Ryans passing a physical Wednesday.
Analysis: Ryans, a seven-year veteran, fills a big void on the Philadelphia defense. He registered 64 tackles in his 16 games last year for Houston playing in the middle of their 3-4 scheme. When the linebacker played in the middle alone in the Texans' 4-3 scheme, he was a tackle freak. He had at least 110 total tackles in his first four seasons before getting hurt in his fifth and moving to the 3-4 in his sixth. Now that the Eagles will give Ryans a home in the middle of their defense, there's potential for him to get back to 100-plus tackles. In typical Fantasy leagues that reward tackles, Ryans should be considered a low-end No. 1 option worth a mid-round pick.

Analysis: Ryans was able to play Sunday despite dealing with elbow and hamstring problems coming into the game. He has struggled this season and should be considered just a low-end LB in IDP leagues. Plan on starting Ryans where needed in Week 9 against the Browns.
News: Houston LB DeMeco Ryans (elbow, hamstring) is active for the Week 8 game against Jacksonville. Ryans was able to practice in full all week and was always expected to play in the Sunday game against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Injuries haven't been the reason for Ryans poor performance in 2011. It has more to do with the fact he is not adjusting well to Wade Phillips' 3-4 scheme. Analysis: Ryans has yet to miss a game this season, but he has definitely been banged up. It might be a reason why he had just 17 tackles entering Week 5, but it's likely more to do with the fact he is playing in a 3-4 defense for the first time. Ryans is now a low-end Fantasy LB until he starts to perform like he used to.

News: Texans LB DeMeco Ryans played Sunday against the Steelers despite him being limited with knee and elbow injuries leading up to the game. Ryans finished his Week 4 outing with four solo tackles and now has 17 tackles on the season.
Analysis: Ryans has not played like an elite Fantasy LB in the majority of leagues, but he's worth keeping on your bench as a No. 3 or 4 option. Don't plan on starting him in most IDP formats in Week 5 against the Raiders.

News: Texans LB DeMeco Ryans was not much of a factor in week 2 against the Dolphins. Ryan, who has been dealing with the lingering effects of his Achilles' injury along with an elbow problem, had just one tackle in the 23-13 win.
Analysis: Ryans played on Sunday, but didn't make much noise on the stat sheet. Maybe his injuries are bothering him a little more than he led on, which could have contributed to his lack of tackles. News: Texans ILB DeMeco Ryans, who was ruled active for Week 1 against the Colts, may have the number of snaps he takes monitored on Sunday. He did get the start against the Colts, however. Achilles' and elbow injuries slowed Ryans in the preseason, yet a solid week of practice gave coach Gary Kubiak confidence to let the heart and soul of the unit hit the field.
Analysis: Even though Ryans is going to be monitored, as long as he doesn't suffer a setback, then he should see a fair amount of snaps. The Texans are going to a 3-4 defense in 2011, but Ryans will still get plenty of chances to make plays. Don't forget Paul Posluszny was a middle linebacker in a 3-4 defense in Buffalo last season and he racked up a ton of tackles, so we expect the same as long as Ryans is healthy. Start him Week 1 in IDP leagues.
News: Texans ILB DeMeco Ryans' number of snaps will be monitored on Sunday, but the sixth-year pro will start against the Colts. News: Houston LB DeMeco Ryans did not play in the Texans' preseason game against New Orleans on Saturday because of a troublesome elbow injury. Ryans, who was limited at practice this past week, had an MRI taken on Wednesday, which did not reveal any structural damage.
Analysis: Ryans was limited to just six games last season after suffering a ruptured Achilles' tendon. The former Alabama star is now bothered by an elbow as he attempts to recover from his injury-shortened season that halted his stretch of four consecutive campaigns with at least 100 tackles. If he can recover quickly, Ryans makes for a quality selection in the middle rounds of IDP Fantasy drafts.
News: The Texans official website reports that LB DeMeco Ryans had an MRI for his swollen elbow on Wednesday, though the results won't be known until Thursday. The team is considering him to be day to day, and he is not ruled out for Saturday's game against the Saints. Ryans missed the final 10 games of 2010 with a ruptured Achilles' tendon.
Analysis: Ryans has gone through his fair share of injuries over the last two seasons after playing in every game in his first four NFL seasons, but this one seems to be minor for now. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his progress moving forward once the results are released. The Alabama product notched no fewer than 112 tackles in his first four years as a pro before last year's injury-shortened campaign. Ryans had the ability to once again notch 100-plus stops with the occasional sack, so he is worth selecting with a mid-round pick on Draft Day as a No. 1 LB in IDP leagues.
News: Texans LB DeMeco Ryans will return to the field for the first time since a ruptured Achilles tendon early last season, but he's not worried. "It's really exciting to finally be cleared and no more going to see the doctor, none of that ... just back to regular workouts, back to throwing a helmet on and running around the football field." Ryans was limited to just six games last season because of the injury.
Analysis: Ryans was on schedule during the offseason with his rehab, and now he is cleared to play. He should be able to thrive in the team's new 3-4 scheme while occupying one of the inside LB spots. Ryans put in at least 112 tackles in each of his first four seasons in the NFL, and we expect him to continue on that pace if he remains healthy. Plan on selecting him with a mid-round pick on Draft Day as a No. 1 LB in IDP leagues.

They tried moving OLB Brian Cushing into Ryans' spot, but he proved more valuable on the outside. It just goes to show you how good Ryans was. Hopefully, he will be able to bounce back from this injury and return to being a high-end Fantasy LB in 2011. Only hold onto him in long-term keeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Texans All-Pro middle linebacker DeMeco Ryans will miss the rest of the season after tearing his left Achilles' tendon just before halftime of Houston's 35-31 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. He remained on the turf for a few minutes while trainers attended to him before being helped to the cart. "I was planting to go make a play on the ball," he said of the injury. "I was trying to jump up and I couldn't push off my foot." Coach Gary Kubiak said Ryans will have surgery in the next couple of days to repair the injury.
Analysis: Ryans, a second-round pick in 2006, has had more than 110 tackles in each of his first four NFL seasons. It's a major blow to a defense that was already struggling before the injury to its leader. The Texans got strongside linebacker Brian Cushing back last week after he served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs and will now have to adjust to the loss of Ryans. Ryans' season is over and he can be safely cut in all IDP leagues.

Now, those teams will play on Oct. 26 and Cincinnati will take its bye week on Nov. 9, when the Texans now play the Ravens.

Analysis: The Texans have three running backs --Green, Echemandu and Dayne -- active against the Raiders. All three might see carries, but expect Green to carry the load against the Raiders. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy RB, while Echemandu is more of a No. 3 RB or 'flex' option and Dayne is a desperation 'flex' option. Daniels is a No. 1 Fantasy TE. Ryans is a must-start Fantasy LB. News: Texans LB DeMeco Ryans had seven tackles Sunday against Carolina.
Analysis: Ryans should be considered a low-end No. 1 option in IDP leagues in Week 3 against the Colts.
News: DeMeco Ryans thought he'd never get a handle on the defense when he arrived at Houston Texans training camp last year as a rookie. He couldn't have been more wrong. The linebacker made 13 tackles in his first game and never slowed down on his way to leading the league with 126 solo tackles and winning Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. The Texans can't wait to see what he'll do next. "I feel a lot more comfortable now," he said. "In year one my head was spinning coming in. It was a lot tougher last year, but now I know the defense and I'm familiar with it so it's a lot easier."
Analysis: The 6-foot-1, 239-pounder was thought to be too small to make an impact in the NFL in the days leading up to the draft. The Texans didn't agree and chose him with the first pick in the second round. It quickly became clear that the Texans made a good decision. Along with leading the team in tackles from the first game, Ryans, who turned 23 Saturday, established himself as a leader on the defense. Ryans is a No. 1 LB heading into 2007 and should be drafted early in IDP leagues.
News: DeMeco Ryans led the NFL in solo tackles on the way to capturing Defensive Rookie of the Year honors last season. After that kind of debut, Houston Texans coaches can't wait to see what the middle linebacker does for his second act. Ryans had 126 solo tackles, his 156 total tackles were the most by a rookie in the last 20 years, and he had 3 1/2 sacks. But perhaps more impressive than those numbers was his ability to immediately become a leader on Houston's young defense. It's an accomplishment he takes very seriously and is focused on building upon.
Analysis: Ryans is a No. 1 LB heading into 2007 and should be drafted early in IDP leagues.
News: DeMeco Ryans came into the NFL as Houston's second choice to bolster its defense. He leaves his first pro year as The Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year. The linebacker, chosen at the top of the second round of last April's draft - 32 spots after the Texans made defensive end Mario Williams the first overall selection - was a runaway winner of the award announced Wednesday. Ryans led the league in solo tackles with 126, and his 156 total tackles were 33 more than the next-best rookie, Detroit linebacker Ernie Sims. "It's always nice to be touted as one of the best and have a big-time stat, but I credit that to the other 10 guys that are around me on defense," Ryans said. "We wouldn't be talking about me without those other 10 guys out there."
Analysis: The Texans defense has some good players in place and will improve yet again this offseason. For now, consider them to be a sleeper unit for 2007 Fantasy play.
News: Notable Texans defenders from Week 14 include: LB Morlon Greenwood (10 total tackles, forced fumble), LB DeMeco Ryans (14 total tackles), DE Antwan Peek (two solo tackles, sack) and CB Demarcus Faggins (one tackle, interception). DE Mario Williams totaled three tackles.
Analysis: Ryans is a startable Fantasy LB, as is Greenwood in deeper leagues, but the rest of this group should be off seasonal Fantasy rosters. Houston plays at New England in Week 15.

DB Glenn Earl had four tackles and a sack. DL Jason Babin had three tackles and a sack. DL N.D. Kalu had two tackles and a sack. DL Lional Dalton had two tackles and a sack.
Analysis: Despite the good outing, the Texans DST should only be used as a low-end No. 2 option against the Titans in Week 14. Use all IDP players as needed.
News: The Texans gave up two offensive scores in a 28-22 loss against Tennessee. The DST forced no turnovers against the Titans. LB Morlon Greenwood had nine tackles. LB DeMeco Ryans had 10 tackles. DL Mario Williams had four tackles and a sack, the only one for the Texans.
Analysis: The Texans DST has a tough matchup for Week 9 against the Giants. Greenwood, Ryans and Williams, however, are good starts in IDP leagues.
News: Mario Williams proclaimed on draft day that he would make an immediate impact with the Houston Texans, and fellow rookie DeMeco Ryans made 13 tackles in the season opener. Six games into the season, the No. 1 pick is still adjusting, while Ryans has already become Houston's defensive star. Ryans, a middle linebacker who was the top pick in the second round, leads the Texans with 53 tackles and his 44 solo tackles are the fifth most in the league. "He's been exceptional," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. "I think we can build our football team around him." At 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds, Ryans was panned for being too small in the weeks leading up to the draft. But the Texans loved his attitude and playmaking ability and felt lucky to get him in the second round. "I had no doubt that he was going to be a good player," Texans linebackers coach Johnny Holland said. "He's playing like a first-round draft pick, which we thought he would."
Analysis: Ryans has been a surprise rookie this year and is a good starter in IDP leagues. He has a favorable matchup in Week 8 against Tennessee.
News: The Texans gave up four touchdowns in a 34-6 loss against Dallas. They only sacked Cowbous QB Drew Bledsoe twice with DB C.C. Brown and LB Demarco Ryans. Brown led the Texans with 10 tackles, and Ryans was second with nine. DB Dunta Robinson had five tackles. And DL Mario Williams had six tackles.
Analysis: Keep the Texans DST reserved in Week 7 along with all these players.
News: Texans rookie LB DeMeco Ryans once again led the Texans in tackles with eight in Week 4 vs. Miami. He also had half a sack.
Analysis: Ryans is on his way to Rookie Defensive of the Year honors and it is only Week 4. If you haven't missed the boat yet, make sure to pick up Ryans for your IDP team. The Texans are on a bye in Week 5, but make sure to get him back in your lineup for Week 6 at Dallas.
News: According to HoustonTexans.com, head coach Gary Kubiak is impressed with the play of his rookie MLB Demeco Ryans. A second-round pick out of Alabama, Ryans has led the Texans in tackles in two of their three games. He now has 30 tackles on the season. "I have such expectations for him (and) such high regard for what he’s all about," Kubiak said. "I would say that I’m not surprised, but I would also say that he has another gear. I think he’s going to only get better, and I’m just really looking forward to watching this thing go for him."
Analysis: Ryans has been a bright spot in what has been a poor defensive showing by the Texans defense this year. Only a rookie, Ryans has established himself as a solid linebacker and should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy LB in IDP leagues. His upside is tremendous.
News: The Redskins had their way with the Texans defense in Week 3 rolling up 495 yards and 31 points. The Texans D had no sacks, no interceptions and forced only one fumble. A bright spot did come from the play of DB Dunta Robinson who led the team with 11 tackles, all solo. Rookie LB DeMeco Ryans and DB Lewis Sanders also had nice days racking up 10 total tackles a piece.
Analysis: New week, same old story: the Texans defense is horrendous. Continue to stay away from the Texans DST. It doesn't look like anytime soon they are going to improve. Now as far as IDP players are concerned, it is time to turn your attention to Robinson, Ryans and Lewis. All three players have more than 30 tackles on the season, but are liabilities in other statistical catergories. However, if your league rewards heavily for tackles, then these guys are going to get plenty of them as the season moves on.
News: The Texans defense did not have a good game vs. Philadelphia in Week 1, registering one sack (Anthony Weaver) and one interception (Jason Simmons). Rookie LB DeMeco Ryans led the Texans in tackles with 13 (12 solo); Morlon Greenwood had eight tackles (seven solo).
Analysis: The Texans DST should never be used in Fantasy unless they play the worst offense in the league and would replace another defense on a bye week. Ryans is a promising middle linebacker that should be used as a No. 2 option in IDP league play; Weaver is a decent reserve DL and Morlon Greenwood is a decent Fantasy LB reserve.
News: Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said most of his starters will not play against Tampa Bay, the last preseason outing for both teams. Not all starters will sit out though, with several rookies, including No. 1 pick Mario Williams and second-round choice DeMeco Ryans expected to see some work. "There's a group of guys that I know will be here playing for us on opening day," Kubiak said. "I'm not going to risk them getting injured with this short turnaround, to make sure they're healthy and ready to go against Philadelphia."
Analysis: Ryans has been impressive thus far in training camp and is expected to start at middle linebacker for Houston this season. Consider him a fabulous sleeper in IDP play, worth a middle- to late-round pick.
News: The Houston Texans signed second-round pick DeMeco Ryans. Ryans, a linebacker from Alabama, won the Lott Award as the nation's top defensive player and was selected the SEC defensive player of the year. The 6-foot-1, 239-pound player, taken with the first pick in the second round, led the Crimson Tide last season with 76 tackles. He also had two fumble recoveries, an interception, a forced fumble and broke up two passes.
Analysis: Ryans will be part of a logjam at linebacker for the Texans, who signed Sam Cowart this offseason to be their middle linebacker. He could back him up or compete for an outside role with Shantee Orr. Either way, expect limited production in 2006 but potential to be a solid contributor in 2007.
News: The Texans selected LB DeMeco Ryans with their second-round pick, 33rd overall.
