Niners' Joe Staley to get an extension?

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/8/2014) There are "whispers" that the 49ers could still give left tackle Joe Staley a contract extension, ESPN reports.

Staley is signed through the 2017 season and is scheduled to make anywhere from $2.7 million to $6.3 million per season over the next four years, salaries significantly lower than other linemen who aren't as good as he is.

An extension would also send a message to holdout lineman Alex Boone.
