Saints list nine players on final injury report for Week 13

(11/28/2014) The Saints have ruled out inside linebacker Kyle Knox (hand) and running back Khiry Robinson (forearm) for Sunday's game against the Steelers. Wide receiver Robert Meachem (ankle) was the only player on New Orleans' injury report deemed questionable for the game.

Meanwhile, the following players were labeled as probable: Running back Travaris Cadet (hamstring), running back Mark Ingram (shoulder), cornerback Keenan Lewis (knee), inside linebacker Curtis Lofton (ankle), tackle Zach Strief (chest) and running back Pierre Thomas (rib, shoulder).

According to the team's final injury report which was released on Saturday, Khiry Robinson (forearm) and Kyle Knox (hand) were the only players ruled out for the game. Robert Meachem (ankle) was deemed questionable.

Meanwhile, Pierre Thomas (rib, shoulder), Travaris Cadet (hamstring), Curtis Lofton (ankle), Keenan Lewis (knee), Zach Strief (chest) and Mark Ingram (shoulder) were all ruled as probable for Monday.


Saints RT Zach Strief diagnosed with concussion, out for Week 11

(11/16/2014) Saints right tackle Zach Strief was diagnosed with a concussion and will not be able to return Week 11 against the Bengals, according to the New Orleans Times Picayune. Strief will now go through the league's concussion protocol and won't be cleared to return until he is medically cleared by an independent physician.

The Saints will face the Ravens in Week 12.

(3/17/2014) Saints right tackle Zach Strief on Monday will re-sign with the team for five years, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune. He became a starter in 2011 and is coming off perhaps his best season.

The deal averages $4.1 million annually, with Strief getting $8.5 million guaranteed.

Strief could be close to a deal with another team or simply did not have interest in playing for the Dolphins. Strief has spent the past eight seasons with the Saints, starting every game he's been healthy for over the past three years.

(2/2/2014) There's a "strong chance" the Saints will not be able to keep right tackle Zach Strief, reports ESPN. The 30-year-old impending free agent could start for just about anyone, and "another team might offer more money than the Saints can afford to match," the report said.

Restricted free agent Bryce Harris, 25, is one potential replacement, according to the report.

Bunkley and Strief were able to participate in limited practice Friday. Bush, Dawson and Foster did not practice Friday.


Zach Strief's injury not as bad as feared

(12/4/2013) Saints right tackle Zach Strief would not have been able to participate had the team practiced Wednesday, but he said the ankle injury he suffered Monday in Seattle is not too serious.

“We’ll see,” Strief said, per ESPN.com. “I’m not a guy that has to be 100 percent; I’m a bad enough athlete. I think it scared me a good bit on the field, but it’s not as bad as it could have been.”

Still, Strief's availability for Week 14 vs. Carolina is uncertain.
