News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme had a solid impact in Saturdays Divisional round playoff matchup against the Ravens. Tamme finished third on the team with three receptions for 44 yards, while bringing in each pass thrown his way. He was held out of the end zone, in a 38-35, double overtime loss.
Analysis: Tamme enjoyed another successful campaign with Peyton Manning at the helm, as he finished with his second-best season totals. His previous best season came back in 2010, when Manning was his quarterback in Indianapolis. Tamme finished with 52 receptions for 55 yards and two touchdowns. Tamme split time at tight end for much of the season, and he will likely do so again next year. Consider him just a late-round target in deeper Fantasy formats on Draft Day.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme caught just one pass for 13 yards in Week 17 against the Chiefs. He was targeted three times in the 38-3 win.
Analysis: Tamme enjoyed a bounce-back campaign in his first season in Denver and was a reliable option for quarterback Peyton Manning. He posted 52 catches for 555 yards and two touchdowns during the regular season. Consider Tamme a low-end option in Fantasy playoff formats.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme hauled in a touchdown grab when he faced the Chiefs earlier in the year and will be looking to find the end zone against the division foe again in Week 17. Kansas City ranks ninth in the league in pass defense, giving up under 215 yards per game, and has allowed an average of 6.4 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Tamme came through with one of his better performances of the season a week ago as he posted 69 yards on two receptions. His production remains sporadic in Fantasy, however, and now is not the point in the season for owners to take big risks. While Tamme caught four passes for 48 yards and a score against the Chiefs in Week 12, consider him as more of a low-end Fantasy tight end for Sunday.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme was fairly productive in Week 16 against the Browns. Tamme hauled in two passes for 69 yards in the 31-12 win, which was the second most receiving yards he has posted all year. He had a long of 36 yards and was targeted by Peyton Manning three times.
Analysis: Tamme only caught two passes against the Browns, but both went for 30-plus yards in the blowout win. However, with the Broncos having so many weapons on the offensive side of the ball, Tamme sometimes gets lost in the shuffle. He also splits time with Joel Dreeessen at tight end, which makes it tough to trust him as a reliable option most weeks. While Tamme did find the end zone the last time the Broncos faced the Chiefs, he should only be active in deeper formats when Kansas City heads to town in Week 17.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme will be looking to get himself going in Week 16 against the Browns. Tamme has not been much of a factor of late as he has hauled in just two passes for 24 yards over his last two games. He was shutout last week and will be facing a Cleveland defense that is allowing an average of 248 yards per game. The Browns have surrendered 21 touchdowns through the air while yielding an average of 5.3 Fantasy points to opposing TEs, which is the fewest among all 32 teams.
Analysis: Tamme continues to split snaps with Joel Dreeessen, which makes it tough for him to get his numbers each week. While he has had more than a few productive performances, he has also turned in his fair share of stinkers. He now looks to have a tough matchup on tap this as the Browns have really done well defending opposing TEs on the year. Cleveland has only surrendered three scores to the position thus far, making Tamme a very risky play heading into the matchup.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme hit a new low in Sunday's 34-17 victory over the Ravens, catching zero passes on zero targets. Fellow tight end Joel Dreessen managed two catches for 36 yards.
Analysis: The zeroes were season-lows for Tamme, who had at least two targets in every game this season. And this goose-egg in Week 15 confirms the perception that both Tamme and Dreessen -- while both capable of having big games -- cannot be counted on for much in Fantasy. The erratic play of the duo has pushed both of them down to low-end Fantasy options, and their value takes an even bigger hit with Week 16's opponent -- the Browns -- holding tight ends to the fewest fantasy points in the league. Tamme -- and Dreessen, for that matter -- can be left to the waiver wire in most formats.
News: Just when you thought Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme had established himself as a solid, reliable option in most formats -- with an average of 7.7 Fantasy points and 63.3 receiving yards from Weeks 11-13 -- he goes and drops a two-point game on his owners in Week 14. Tamme's two-reception, 24-yard game was the seventh of the season with fewer than five Fantasy points and the 10th with fewer than 50 receiving yards.
Analysis: Tamme does just enough to give Fantasy owners hope, then finds a way to send it all crashing down in glorious fashion. At this point, it's a guessing game as to which Denver tight end will have the better game -- Joel Dreessen and his five touchdowns, or Jacob Tamme and his 473 yards. For Week 15, though, there is reason to leave both out of the lineup, as the Broncos face the Ravens, who have allowed just two touchdowns to tight ends all season and have allowed double-digit tight end scoring once in the last six weeks. The uncertainty over which tight end steps up on a weekly basis in Denver should lead Fantasy players to the waiver wire looking for a steadier tight end, one who won't leave you with three points from the position in an important playoff week.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme did not make much of an impact during Thursday's contest against the Raiders in Week 14. Tamme took a backseat to Joel Dreessen and was held to just two catches for 24 yards on four targets in a 26-13 victory. He caught all of his passes in the first half. His teammate, Dreessen, caught five passes for 30 yards and a touchdown on the night.
Analysis: Tamme was on a roll heading into Thursday and had racked up 137 yards and a touchdown in his previous two games. It seemed as if he had re-emerged as Peyton Manning's primary tight end, but once again lost his targets in the red-zone to Dreessen. Dreesen now has five touchdowns on the year compared to Tamme's two this season. He'll try to get back on track at Baltimore in Week 15. The Ravens have only allowed two tight ends to reach the end zone this season. Fantasy owners should view the 27-year-old as a low-end option in most formats heading into Week 15.
News: Denver tight end Jacob Tamme heads into the Week 14 Thursday night game at Oakland with a pretty solid two-game history against the Raiders. Tamme has caught 12 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown in his two games against Oakland. That said, Tamme only managed five catches for 38 yards without a score in the Week 4 contest versus the Raiders this season.
Analysis: Tamme has had perhaps his best two games back-to-back the last two weeks at Kansas City and at home against Tampa Bay. He's combined for 13 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown in those games. He is facing an Oakland defense giving up the sixth-most Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends on the year as well. A tight end scored against the Raiders in each of Weeks 10, 11 and 12 and Benjamin Watson had 80 yards on six catches against them last week. Tamme can be considered a decent low-end No. 1 or high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 14.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme netted a season-high 89 yards on nine receptions during Denver's 31-23 win over Tampa Bay in Week 13. Tamme was targeted a game-high 13 times by quarterback Peyton Manning as his catch total represented a season high as well. The last time Tamme eclipsed 80 receiving yards was during the 2010 campaign when he and Manning were teammates with Indianapolis.
Analysis: Tamme was one of several Broncos receivers to take advantage of Tampa Bay's bottom-feeding pass defense and averaged a sturdy 9.9 yards per catch. He also received additional targets with Brandon Stokley sidelined with an injury and now has posted double digits in looks three times this year from the familiar face under center. Tamme seems to have created some separation between he and Joel Dreessen (no catches on two targets Sunday) and is worth starting in deeper Fantasy formats for Week 14 at Oakland on Thursday.
News: The last time Denver tight end Jacob Tamme scored in back-to-back games, he and his current quarterback were in different uniforms. It was 2010 and Tamme and Peyton Manning were teammates with Indianapolis then as the two connected on four touchdowns, which represents a career high for Tamme. He will attempt to accomplish that feat for the second time in his career during a Week 13 matchup against Tampa Bay, which owns the league's worst pass defense and is yielding 315.5 yards per game through the air.
Analysis: After watching fellow tight end Joel Dreessen score four touchdowns since his last trip to the end zone in the season opener, Tamme was targeted near the end zone by Manning in Week 12 and tallied his second score. The two will likely continue battling for targets, but Tamme had the edge last Sunday (four to two). Opposing tight ends have had success against Tampa Bay this season and are averaging 7.7 Fantasy points per game. Consider Tamme a low-end option in deeper Fantasy formats for Week 13.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme tallied four catches for 48 yards and a touchdown during Denver's 17-9 victory over Kansas City in Week 12. Tamme hauled in a 7-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Peyton Manning late in the second quarter for his first score since the season opener against Pittsburgh. He also eclipsed his touchdown total from last season as a member of the Colts (one), as he finished with seven targets.
Analysis: Tamme seemed to be overlooked by Manning around the end zone as fellow tight end Joel Dreessen registered four touchdowns during his prolonged scoring stretch. But the 27-year-old still remained a part of the passing attack and now has four catches in each of his past two games. The timeshare between he and Dreessen (two catches) will continue as both should be viewed as low-end Fantasy options for Week 13 against Tampa Bay.
News: Denver quarterback Peyton Manning has thrown for 24 touchdowns this season, tied with New England's Tom Brady for third-most in the NFL. Only one of those passes has gone to tight end Jacob Tamme and that was in the season opener against Pittsburgh. Tamme will look to halt a nine-game scoreless stretch during a Week 12 matchup at Kansas City, which owns the league's sixth-ranked pass defense (214.6 yards allowed per game).
Analysis: Tamme has missed out on scoring opportunities to fellow tight end Joel Dreessen, who has reached the end zone four times this season. But Manning, normally a big supporter of delivering targets to tight ends, has not sought the position out much as Tamme has been held to less than five catches in each of his past five games. Kansas City is allowing an average of 6.4 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season, however, Tamme is viewed as a low-end option in the majority of formats for Week 12.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme was fairly productive in Week 11 against the Chargers. Tamme, who hauled in just four receptions for 24 yards over his past two games, finished with four catches for 53 yards in Denver's 30-23 win over San Diego. He had a long of 30 yards but was unable to find the end zone in the victory. Brandon Stokley led the team in receiving as he finished with five receptions for 54 yards and a score.
Analysis: While Tamme's performance Sunday afternoon wasn't anything to get too excited about, it was nice to see him finally get involved after turning in four straight underwhelming weeks. While he did see five targets against the Chargers, Denver has a ton of weapons on the offensive side of the ball, which means someone usually gets left out most weeks. Unfortunately for Tamme, he has been that guy most weeks as he hasn't found the end zone since the opening week of the year. Fantasy owners should consider the 27-year-old more of a low-end option in most formats against the Chiefs in Week 12.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme will be looking to get himself back on track in Week 11 against the Chargers. Tamme has hauled in just four receptions for 24 yards over his past two games and hasn't scored a touchdown since the opening week of the season. San Diego enters the contest allowing an average of 234 passing yards per contest. The Chargers have surrendered 16 TDs through the air while yielding an average of 5.3 Fantasy points to opposing TEs.
Analysis: Tamme has been the forgotten man over the past few weeks as he has turned in four straight underwhelming performances. While that is to be expected some weeks with all the weapons Denver has on the offensive side of the ball, Tamme's overall production has been disappointing thus far. Now he looks to have somewhat of a tough matchup on tap as the Chargers have only surrendered two TDs to opposing TEs on the year. Consider Tamme merely a low-end option in most formats this week.
News: Denver tight end Jacob Tamme saw four targets from quarterback Peyton Manning in the Week 10 win at Carolina. Tamme came down with just one reception in the game, however, for 6 yards.
Analysis: Tamme has continued to be an underwhelming option for Fantasy owners since a hot start to the season. He was targeted near the end zone a few times Sunday but didn't come down the big catch and hasn't scored since Week 1. Heading into Week 11 against San Diego, Tamme is not a recommended Fantasy option.
News: Denver tight end Jacob Tamme heads into Week 10 at Carolina looking to get into the end zone for the first time since Week 1 of the season against Pittsburgh. Tamme managed just 18 yards last week on three catches and has been overtaken by Joel Dreessen as the No. 1 tight end on the roster for quarterback Peyton Manning.
Analysis: Tamme will face a Panthers team allowing the 13th-most Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season. They have given up three touchdowns to the position but the last came back in Week 8 and they have only allowed one in the last five weeks. Tamme could struggle Week 10 and should only be considered a low-end No. 2 Fantasy TE, at best, for the game.
News: Denver tight end Jacob Tamme was able to play Sunday against the Bengals despite dealing with a hip issue, but was overshadowed again by his fellow tight end Joel Dreessen in Week 9. Tamme caught three of four passes thrown his way for 18 yards and finished as the team's fifth receiver in a 31-23 victory. He dropped a third-down pass in the second quarter to keep the drive alive and stepped out of the game for a few plays to check his wrist. He only received one target after returning to the field. Dreessen took some of his red-zone targets and finished with four catches for 38 yards and a touchdown.
Analysis: Tamme continues to frustrate Fantasy owners with his lack of production as he has caught just eight passes for 68 yards in his previous three games and has yet to reach the end zone since the opening week of the season. Unfortunately, Manning has been doing a solid job of spreading the ball between both tight ends, but has clearly targeted Dreessen more in the end zone as of late. Tamme will try to bounce back against Carolina in Week 10. The Panthers have allowed just 71 yards combined against Washington's tight ends in Week 9. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a low-end reserve option heading to Week 10.
News: As expected, Denver tight end Jacob Tamme was ruled active for Sunday's contest against Cincinnati in Week 9 despite dealing with a hip issue. Tamme was a full participant in practice all week and was not a threat to miss the game. He'll be looking to get back in the end zone for the first time since the opening week of the season as he'll face a Cincinnati defense that has allowed three touchdowns in their past four games against opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Tamme will be looking to bounce back as he has seen a slight drop in his production with the emergence of Joel Dreessen. Dreessen has taken a bit of his red-zone targets throughout the season but was held in check last week while Tamme caught three of four passes thrown his way in Week 8 against the Saints. He could be primed for a bounce-back game against a weak against a weak Cincinnati secondary that has allowed 9.7 Fantasy points per game against opposing tight ends this season. Fantasy owners should view him as merely a low-end reserve option for Week 9.
News: Denver tight end Jacob Tamme was a full participant in practice for the third consecutive day Friday and is listed as probable for Sunday's contest against the Bengals in Week 9 despite dealing with a hip injury. Tamme will be looking to get back in the end zone for the first time since the first week of the season as he heads into to Week 9 to face the Bengals on the road. He'll face a Cincinnati defense that has permitted three touchdowns in their last four games against opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Tamme has seen a slight drop in his production with the emergence of Joel Dressen and as a result, has lost some of his red-zone targets. Fantasy owners saw that last week as he was not heavily targeted and caught three of the four passes thrown his way for 33 yards against the Saints in Week 8. Tamme has just 23 catches for 235 yards and a touchdown through seven games this season. He could be primed for a bounce-back game against a weak against a weak Cincinnati secondary that has allowed 9.7 Fantasy points per game against opposing tight ends this season. The Bengals have allowed 11 catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns in their previous to games against opposing tight ends. That said, Fantasy owners should view him as a low-end reserve option heading into Week 9.

News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme was not heavily targeted and could not make much of an impact in Week 8 against the Saints on Sunday night. Peyton Manning found Tamme for a long 23-yard gain late in the third quarter for his longest gain of the night. He was only targeted four times and finished with three catches for 33 yards in a 34-14 victory.
Analysis: Tamme continues to see a drop in his production and has only reached the 50-yard mark once this season. That said, he still outperformed Joel Dreessen, who did not make a catch on Sunday. Tamme has just 23 catches for 235 yards and a touchdown through seven games this season. He could be primed for a bounce-back game against a weak against a weak Cincinnati secondary that has allowed 9.7 Fantasy points per game against opposing tight ends this season. Fantasy owners should view the 27-year-old as low-end option in deeper formats heading into Week 9 at Cincinnati.
News: As expected, Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme was ruled active for Sunday night's contest against the Saints in Week 8 despite dealing with a minor hip injury. Tamme is still searching for his first touchdown since the first week of the season and has lost some red-zone targets to Joel Dreessen. Dreessen has scored two of his three touchdowns inside the red-zone. Tamme will encounter a New Orleans' defense that has allowed their first touchdown of the season to an opposing tight end in Week 7 against Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Tamme has had an extra week to rest his hip during the bye and still leads his team in catches (23) and receiving yards (202) among tight ends, despite the emergence of Dreessen. Peyton Manning has been on a tear as of late, throwing for at least 300 yards or more in his last three games, Tamme has the potential of breaking out at some point this season. He has only scored double-digit Fantasy points in two of his first six games while only hauling in at least five catches in just three games thus far. The Saints have allowed 305 passing yards per game but has buckled down against tight ends, yielding just five Fantasy points per game through six games. Fantasy owners should keep Tamme as a low-end option in deeper formats heading into Week 8.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme is listed as probable and is expected to play in Week 8 against the Saints despite dealing with a minor hip injury. Tamme is still searching for his first touchdown since the opening week of the season. He has lost some of his red-zone targets to fellow-tight end Joel Dreessen, who has scored two of his three touchdowns within the 20-yard-line. Tamme will face a Saints' defense that permitted their first touchdown of the season against the Buccaneers in Week 7. Tamme, who is fresh off a bye week, was held to just 27 yards on two receptions in Week 6 against the Chargers.
Analysis: Tamme still remains the team leader in catches (23) and receiving yards (202) among tight ends, despite the emergence of Dreessen. That said, Peyton manning has done a solid job spreading the ball around between the two tight ends, which is hurting Tamme's impact in Fantasy. Because Manning has been on a tear as of late, throwing for at least 300 yards or more in his last three games, Tamme has the potential of breaking out at some point this season. He has only scored double-digit Fantasy points in two of his first six games while only hauling in at least five catches in just three games thus far. The Saints have allowed 305 passing yards per game but has buckled down against tight ends, yielding just five Fantasy points per game through six games. That said, the 27-year-old could hold some decent value as a bye-week replacement heading into Week 8. Outside of that, he should be left for deeper Fantasy formats moving forward.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme is still searching for his first touchdown since the opening week of the season as he'll head into Week 8 with a tough macthup against the Saints at home. Tamme has lost some of his red-zone targets to fellow-tight end Joel Dreessen, who has scored two of his three touchdowns within the 20-yard-line. He'll face a Saints' defense that permitted their first touchdown of the season against the Buccaneers in Week 7.
That said, the 27-year-old could hold some decent value as a bye-week replacement heading into Week 8. Outside of that, he should be left for deeper Fantasy formats moving forward.
News: After posting six catches for 50 yards his last time out, Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme did not have the same success in Week 6 against the Chargers. He gained 27 yards on two grabs in the 35-24 win. Tamme was targeted twice in the contest.
Analysis: Tamme has more catches (23) and receiving yards (202) than fellow-tight end Joel Dreessen for Denver but has not been able to find the end zone as often. He should continue to see targets on a weekly basis, however, so keep an eye on his progress going forward. Tamme has not scored since the season opener but remains a viable option in Fantasy due to his potential. Keep him stashed away heading into the bye week before the Broncos play the Saints in Week 8.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme has failed to score in four weeks in a row heading into Week 6 against the Chargers. A big reason for that has been the emergence of Joel Dreessen as a red-zone target. Despite this, Tamme has remains productive overall, as a result of the rapport he has established with quarterback Peyton Manning. Tamme ranks third on the team with 36 targets, despite being used on just 59.8 percent of the teams offensive possessions this season.
Analysis: Tamme has at least five catches in each game so far, but he is averaging just 8.3 yards per game. He has yet to have a catch for more than 20 yards. As a result of that, he has been something of a disappointment so far this season. He needs to get more looks in the red zone, but that might not happen against the Chargers Monday. San Diego has allowed just one tight end to score this season, and they have held opposing tight ends to just one Fantasy point combined over the last two weeks. Tamme should be left for deeper Fantasy formats for Week 6.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme had one of his better performances of the season in Week 5 against the Patriots. He finished tied for the team high with 11 targets and caught six passes for 50 yards -- both season highs -- in the 31-21 loss. He had a long reception of 17 and averaged 8.3 yards per grab. Tamme finished third on Denver in receiving behind wideout Demaryius Thomas (188 yards) and running back Willis McGahee (51 yards).
Analysis: Tamme has been disappointing so far in his first season in Denver but continues to see a decent amount of passes thrown his way on a weekly basis. However, Joel Dreessen has been seeing more of the looks in the red zone. Tamme has proven in the past to be a viable option in Fantasy but owners in larger formats might want to keep him reserved until he proves to be more consistent. The Broncos play the Chargers in Week 6.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme has not gone over 40 yards receiving since the season opener and will look to get back on track in Week 5 against the Patriots. New England ranks 25th in the league in pass defense, giving up over 281 yards per game, and has surrendered an average of 10.5 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends, which is second-worst in the NFL.
Analysis: Tamme caught five passes for 49 yards against the Patriots a year ago, when he was on the Colts. He has not been doing much for the Broncos of late, however, and has seen his Fantasy stock drop as a result. While the 27-year-old appears to have a favorable matchup for Week 5, plan on leaving Tamme reserved in all but the deepest of formats against New England.
News: Denver tight end Jacob Tamme registered five catches for 38 yards during the Broncos' 37-6 rout of Oakland in Week 4. Tamme, who was active for the contest after dealing with a groin injury in practice last week, tallied four receptions during the team's first two drives of the first quarter. He didn't record his last catch of the game until the third quarter as he finished with six total targets from Denver quarterback Peyton Manning.
Analysis: Tamme seemed to disappear after being target often by Manning early in the game, especially around the end zone. Instead, Manning delivered a touchdown pass to Joel Dreessen as Tamme went scoreless for the third consecutive game. Tamme is a reliable option over the middle for the Broncos, but his yardage totals are limited due to the high volume of receivers Manning has to feed. He should be considered a quality Fantasy option for Week 5 at New England, with an additional boost in PPR formats.
News: Denver tight end Jacob Tamme is active for Week 4 against Oakland after dealing with a groin injury during practice last week. Tamme was a full participant in practice and was listed as probable on the team's injury report. He has just 44 receiving yards over the last two games, as he prepares to battle a Raiders team that was torched for 60 yards and two tocuchdowns in Week 3 against Pittsburgh tight end Heath Miller.
Analysis: The Raiders have allowed three touchdowns to tight ends this season, each over the last two weeks, so hopefully Tamme can keep that streak going and snap out of this funk. Tamme has been targeted 19 times this season, including 10 times in Week 3, so he just needs to establish a better connection with quarterback Peyton Manning. We still like Tamme this year, however he needs to show more moving forward to be more than a low-end starting Fantasy option, which he is in Week 4.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme is coming off a pair of poor performances in Week 2 and 3, and he is hoping to make amends for that in Week 4 against the Raiders. Tamme has just 44 receiving yards over the last two games, and he is getting set to take on a Raiders team that was torched for 60 yards and two tocuchdowns in Week 3 against the Steelers tight end Heath Miller. Tamme is listed as probable for the game, after making it through practice all week despite a groin strain.
Analysis: The Raiders have allowed three touchdowns to tight ends this season, each over the last two weeks, so hopefully Tamme can keep that streak going and snap out of this funk he is in. Tamme has been targeted 19 times this season, including 10 times in Week 3, so he just needs to establish a better connection with quarterback Peyton Manning. We still like Tamme this year, however he needs to show more moving forward to be more than a low-end starting Fantasy option, which he is in Week 4.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme failed to get on the same page with Peyton Manning during Sunday's contest against the Texans. Manning targeted Tamme heavily, but he was able to catch three of 10 passes thrown his way for 31 yards in a 35-21 victory. Meanwhile, backup tight end Joel Dreessen outperformed Tamme as he finished with two catches for 36 yards.
Analysis: Tamme missed some chances to make big plays as he couldn't get in sync with Manning on Sunday. The history of Tamme of Manning has been well known since he was acquired by Denver but he could start losing some of his role on offense if Manning starts targeting Dreessen more as the season progresses. Tamee will have a favorable matchup in Week 4 against the Raiders, who gave up 60 yards and two touchdowns to Heath Miller in Week 3. Fantasy owners should view Tamme as a low-end option heading into Week 4.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme is looking to bounce back as he heads into a Week 3 showdown against the Texans at home. Tamme, who is reunited with Peyton Manning this season, was targeted just four times as he took a backseat to Demaryius Thomas in Week 2 against the Falcons.
Analysis: It seems like at this point, Tamme will struggle as long as Manning is not his old self. The history of Tamme of Manning has been well known since he was acquired by Denver so we expect the 27-year-old to turn in a very productive 2012 campaign when all is said and done. Manning should rely on the tight ends this week especially since Houston has not been tested by the all season long. Fantasy should be considered as a low-end option heading into Week 3.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme was not much of a factor in Week 2 against the Falcons. Tamme hauled in just two receptions for 13 yards in the 27-21 defeat and had a long of 9 yards. He was targeted four times by Peyton Manning but took a backseat to Demaryius Thomas, who finished with eight receptions for 78 yards and score in the loss.
Analysis: Tamme got off to a nice start last week for Fantasy owners, but was pretty much a non-factor Monday night. Part of the reason for that was the fact that Manning was a bit off his game, but the Falcons also did a nice job of chipping him off the line and disrupting his patterns. The history of Tamme of Manning has been well documented over the past few weeks and most expect the 27-year-old to turn in a very productive 2012 campaign when all is said and done. Despite his quite night in Altanta, Tamme can be considered a viable low-end option in most formats heading into Week 3 against the Texans.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme scored a touchdown in the season opener and will be looking to find the end zone again in Week 2 against the Falcons. Atlanta allowed 241 yards through the air in Week 1 and surrendered 13 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Tamme came over from the Colts along with Peyton Manning in the offseason and the two each put together productive performances in Week 1. Tamme had his best campaign as a pro with Manning in 2010 and already has as many touchdowns this season as he did a year ago. Monday's game could end up being a shootout with a ton of passing yards so it looks as though Tamme should be in for another solid performance. Keep the 27-year-old active in the majority of Fantasy formats for Week 2.
News: Playing with quarterback Peyton Manning again in Denver, Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme got off to a good start to 2012 in Week 1, as he brought in what proved to be the game-winning touchdown pass in a 31-19 win over the Steelers. Tamme was targeted five times in the game and brought in all five of those passes, for 43 yards, while scoring on a 1-yard pass that featured a vintage Manning audible at the line to take advantage of a hole in the Steelers defense.
Analysis: It took 12 games for Tamme to score his first and only touchdown last season, so this is certainly a good start. Tamme enjoyed his best season in 2010, when he started with Manning at quarterback in Indianapolis, so expectations are high that he will be able to rekindle some of that success. Manning is going to spread the ball around, but he has always loved passing to tight ends, so Fantasy owners should consider him an intriguing starting option this season, including in Week 2 against the Falcons.
News: For one of the most hyped tight ends in all Fantasy, Jacob Tamme of the Broncos has not accomplished much. He posted 67 catches for 631 yards in 2010 with the Colts, but has just 25 catches in three full seasons otherwise. Still, he is expected to breakout this season in the Broncos Peyton Manning-led offense, with Fantasy owners hoping for a repeat of 2010s performance at least, and that quest begins with Week 1 against the Steelers.
Analysis: Pittsburgh defended the pass incredibly well in 2011, allowing just 171.9 yards through the air, tops in the league, though they were a little bit more vulnerable to tight ends through the air. Pittsburgh allowed just five touchdowns to tight ends last season, but surrendered 51.94 yards per game to them, 14th most in the NFL. Tamme is expected to emerge as a favorite target of Mannings, though he did finish the preseason with just four catches for 43 yards. We like Tamme as a big-time sleeper this season, but Fantasy owners should consider him more of a low-end starting option until he proves his place among the top-tier at the position.
News: Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme has managed four catches for 43 yards and no touchdowns through the team's first three preseason games. In the team's third preseason contest against the 49ers, which is usually considered the dress rehearsal for the regular season, Tamme had one catch for 14 yards. He was targeted once.
Analysis: Tamme heads into the 2012 season as one of the more intriguing sleepers at the tight end position. He is reunited again with quarterback Peyton Manning, who he had his best season with in 2010 with the Colts. Many feel that history between the two players will play out on the field this year and mean Tamme bounces back after a down 2011 campaign. Tamme has been the 11th most drafted tight end in CBSSports.com Fantasy leagues. He is certainly worth a look as a low-end starter if you miss on the elite options on Draft Day. Tamme might be worth a look in standard formats starting in Round 8.
News: The Broncos official team website reports that tight ends Jacob Tamme and Joel Dreessen are shaping up to be a major part of the new-look offense in Denver. After six days of training camp practices, the Broncos have showcased several variations of a two tight end formation that features Tamme and Dreessen in different spots on the field. Joel and I are working our tails off to see what we can do to help the team, Tamme said. Weve got a lot of weapons offensively; we just need to come out every day and get better. Different games will probably feature and involve different things. Were not really concerned about all that. Were just trying to get out here and see what we can do. Quarterback Peyton Manning is clearly getting comfortable with the pair of tight ends, as theyve been two of his most targeted receivers in team drills and seven-on-sevens.
Analysis: Tamme has a history with Manning from his four previous years in Indianapolis. In 2010, the last year that Manning was active, the two hooked up 67 times through the air as Tamme tied for second on the team in receptions. He also caught four touchdowns to round off his most productive season in the NFL. We like Tamme as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy tight end. He is worth drafting with a late-round pick in all leagues.
News: In an interview with Moving The Chains on SiriusXM NFL Radio, new Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme sounded very excited to follow quarterback Peyton Manning to Denver from Indy, adding that he "looks great." Tamme's also excited about the direction of the new offense, calling it a mix of what he did with Manning with the Colts and what offensive coordinator Mike McCoy wants to do. On the topic of his specific role with the Broncos, Tamme didn't want to give away much but did offer what he thinks is great about being a tight end. "I'm comfortable in slot and love that, but I would say I lined up on the line of scrimmage more than everywhere else [with the Colts]," Tamme said. " ... We should be able to move around and what we're going to do offensively, hopefully, we'll be able to move around some. I think that's what's great about playing tight end these days, you get to do everything. It's what makes the position a lot of fun."
Analysis: If we're reading between the lines, the Broncos could use Tamme as a tight end, slot receiver and H-back this season, all roles he's capable of playing as evidenced by his time in Indianapolis. Being comfortable with Manning is also built-in thanks to their relationship back in Indiana. Tamme had just 177 yards on 19 catches in 2011 with one score, but he worked behind starter Dallas Clark in a Manning-less Colts offense. In 10 games without Dallas Clark in 2010, Tamme caught 67 passes for 631 yards and four touchdowns. Expect him to have some Clark-like potential and thus get swiped with a middle- to late-round pick in drafts this summer as a borderline No. 1/No. 2 TE.
News: The Broncos announced Friday that they signed tight end Jacob Tamme. The former Colts second stringer will reunite with quarterback Peyton Manning in Denver. Tamme had just 177 yards on 19 catches in 2011 with one score, but he worked behind starter Dallas Clark in a Manning-less Colts offense. In 10 games without Dallas Clark in 2010, Tamme caught 67 passes for 631 yards and four touchdowns.
Analysis: Tamme is one of our favorite sleepers this season now that he's joined the Broncos. He's got really good athleticism and has been an effective receiver dating back to his high school days. Expect him to have some Dallas Clark-like potential and thus get swiped with a middle- to late-round pick in drafts this summer as a borderline No. 1/No. 2 TE.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme caught one pass for 10 yards in Thursday's 19-16 win over the Texans. He had one other target in the game, but the ball was tipped at the line of scrimmage and fell incomplete.
Analysis: Tamme has been filling in for the injured Dallas Clark. Despite his increase in playing time this year, Fantasy owners should not pay too much attention to Tamme as he's not worth the trouble at this stage of the season.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme filled in for the injured Dallas Clark in Week 15 against the Titans, but he hardly made an impact on the stat sheet. Tamme was held to one catch for 3 yards on two targets.
Analysis: Tamme had done well earlier this season when he filled in for the injured Clark, and he did catch a touchdown last week from Dan Orlovsky, so we had some hope for him in Week 15. Unfortunately, Tamme was hardly a factor in the upset win. Don't plan on starting Tamme heading into Week 16 against the Texans.
News:The Indianapolis Star reports Colts coach Jim Caldwell said Friday that it is "very unlikely" TE Dallas Clark plays Week 15 against the Titans because of a burner, which is believed to be related to his neck. Clark did not practice all week and Jacob Tamme is expected to benefit from Clark's absence.
Analysis: Tamme stepped up when Clark was out for three games with a leg injury. Tamme even scored when Clark returned in Week 14, so there is some sleeper potential here for Week 15. The Titans are yielding 8.5 Fantasy points per week to TEs. However, Tamme should only be started in Fantasy in a desperation move.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme's only catch of the game Week 14 against the Ravens came on the final play, and he made it count with a 13-yard touchdown reception. It was his first touchdown of the season and fifth of his career.
Analysis: Tamme was back on the bench Week 14 as Dallas Clark returned from a three-game absence. Tamme had some good outings when Clark was sidelined, but it's clear with Clark active that Tamme will play a complementary role. He is not a recommended Fantasy option heading into Week 15 against the Titans.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme has had his three best games of the season the last three weeks with TE Dallas Clark (leg) sidelined. However, Clark returned to practice Wednesday and is on track to return Week 14 at Baltimore, which would cut into Tamme's targets.
Analysis: Tamme has five or more catches in two of his last three games and is once again proving to be a great fill-in for Clark. However, the Colts still consider Clark their starting TE, so his presence spells bad news for Tamme. Even if Clark is still out Week 14, this is not an ideal matchup for Tamme. The Ravens are yielding 3.5 Fantasy points per week to TEs, which is second-lowest in the NFL. They have allowed just one TE -- Evan Moore -- to score this season. Tamme is at best a desperation Fantasy start.
News: Indianapolis TE Jacob Tamme recorded five catches for 49 yards during the Colts' 31-24 loss to New England in Week 13. Tamme received the start again as Dallas Clark continues to nurse an injured fibula. He finished with six targets from QB Dan Orlovsky, who made his first start.
Analysis: Tamme took advantage of the Patriots' depleted secondary and got behind the defense for a long reception of 20 yards in the first quarter. He just missed finishing with double-digits in yards per catch for the third consecutive game and posted an average of 9.8. Still, Tamme is not a huge target near the end zone as Orlovsky tossed both touchdowns to WR Pierre Garcon. Consider Tamme a low-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 14 at Baltimore.
News: With Indianapolis TE Dallas Clark (fibula) sidelined for another game, fellow TE Jacob Tamme will earn the start in Week 13 against New England. Tamme has started the past two games in Clark's absence and posted mixed results. In his first game, Tamme registered six receptions for 75 yards, but was unable to duplicate that performance against Carolina last week and finished with only two catches for a lowly 20 yards.
Analysis: With the Colts also starting a new quarterback on Sunday in Dan Orlovsky, Tamme could have increased value as a safety net around the line of scrimmage. The Patriots' struggles against the pass have been well-documented this season as they rank last in the NFL with 307.5 passing yards allowed. Plus, New England is also yielding an average of 6.6 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. With Indianapolis still having issues at quarterback, Tamme should only be considered a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 13.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme, who led the team with six catches for 75 yards in his first game filling in for an injured Dallas Clark (leg) in Week 10, wasn't as much of a factor Week 12 against the Panthers. He finished with two catches for 20 yards and was targeted only three times in the contest.
Analysis: Tamme has proven to be an effective receiving tight end when given the opportunity, but in Week 12, he took a back seat to WR Reggie Wayne, who finished with five catches for 122 yards. The Colts have only so many receiving yards to go around with the ineffective Curtis Painter under center, so even if Tamme continues to start for Clark, he won't be consistent enough to use as a No. 1 Fantasy TE. Treat him as more of a No. 2 option Week 13 at New England.

News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme, who was the team's leading receiver while filling in for an injured Dallas Clark (leg) against the Jaguars in Week 10, figures to play an instrumental role in the passing game with Clark again sidelined against the Panthers in Week 12. Of course, how much of a passing game the Colts will have is still in question. The Panthers haven't exactly been great against the pass, but they've been miserable against the run, allowing 140.7 yards per game -- third-most in the NFL.
Analysis: Of course, some teams can afford to go run-heavy against the Panthers. The Colts, however, are so bad on defense that they'll likely fall behind early and have no choice but to pass, which would obviously work in Tamme's favor. Against tight ends specifically, the Panthers are allowing 8.4 Fantasy points per game, tied for ninth-most in the NFL. Tamme deserves a look as a No. 2 Fantasy TE this week.
News: With Dallas Clark (leg) and Brody Eldridge (hand) both sidelined by injuries, Colts TE Jacob Tamme stepped into the starting lineup Week 10 against the Jaguars and proved to be the team's most effective option through the air. He led the team with six catches for 75 yards, looking much like he did filling in for Clark in the second half last year. But this time, he had Curtis Painter and Dan Orlovsky throwing him the ball instead of Peyton Manning. Tamme was targeted eight times in the contest, leading the team in that category for the second straight week.
Analysis: When Clark went down with a wrist injury last year, the Colts didn't miss a beat with Tamme, who put up more or less the same numbers Fantasy owners would have expected from Clark. Clark hadn't fared so well this year with Manning hurt, but Tamme didn't seem to suffer as much from Manning's absence. Of course, it's only one game, so you shouldn't read too much into it. The Colts have a bye in Week 11. If Clark remains sidelined for Week 12 against the Panthers, Tamme is worth a look as a No. 2 Fantasy TE.
News: With Dallas Clark (leg) and Brody Eldridge (hand) both sidelined by injuries, Jacob Tamme takes over as the starting tight end for the Colts against the Jaguars in Week 10.
Analysis: Tamme had some success filling in for Clark down the stretch last season, but that was with Peyton Manning under center. Clark has been nothing short of a disappointment when healthy this season, so you shouldn't expect Tamme to perform like more than a No. 2 Fantasy TE in his absence.
News: Colts coach Jim Caldwell said Monday that TEs Dallas Clark (leg) and Brody Eldridge (hand) both sustained "significant injuries" in Week 9 vs. Atlanta and the injuries will last "more than a week." Jacob Tamme will benefit from their absence.
Analysis: Tamme led the team with seven targets in Week 9, but he caught just two passes for 6 yards. Tamme was a nice addition off Fantasy waivers last year when he filled in for Clark. However, remember that Peyton Manning was still the team's QB. Right now, Curtis Painter is under center, so we can't expect Tamme to have similar success. He is just a low-end Fantasy option until further notice.
News: On a day when starting tight ends Dallas Clark (leg) and Brody Eldridge (hand) both left with injuries, Colts TE Jacob Tamme led the team with seven targets Week 9 against the Falcons. Unfortunately, he caught only two passes for 6 yards.
Analysis: Tamme filled in admirably for an injured Clark last season, averaging 6.7 catches for 63.1 yards in 10 games. Of course, that was with Peyton Manning under center rather than Curtis Painter. The Colts have yet to report the severity of Clark's injury, but if he ends up missing any time, Tamme will get some looks in Fantasy. Still, given the current state of the Colts' passing game, he would be at best a low-end No. 2 Fantasy TE.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme left Sunday's game against the Saints after suffering a possible concussion. He was not targeted in the game. The Colts would lose the contest, 62-7.
Analysis: Tamme is a backup tight end for the Colts and has one catch for 1 yard this season. Seeing how Dallas Clark didn't get a target in Week 7 either, Fantasy owners should not be paying attention to Tamme at all this season. The only way his stock rises is if Clark suffers an injury.
News: Colts coach Jim Caldwell isn't going to have a problem pairing TEs Dallas Clark and Jacob Tamme at times after they combined to catch 104 passes last season. "We have a number of different packages that we can utilize both of them at the same time, some of them separate from one another, but nevertheless, both guys are a real threat catching the ball and running with it for us," he said. "Dallas has been great over the years, and Jacob had an outstanding year last year, very capable guy."
Analysis: Tamme understands that his role might be reduced this season. "I've never been a guy who's been obsessed with my role," he said. "Obviously, I want to help the team, I want to win games, I want to get to a Super Bowl and get a ring." Tamme had to step up in 2010 because Clark ended up on IR. Clark is healthy and he should lead the Colts TEs in receiving in 2011. It's going to be tough for Fantasy owners to draft Tamme since Clark is back. Unless you are in a real deep league with ample reserve spots, then look to other TEs over Tamme on Draft Day.
News: Indianapolis TE Jacob Tamme had another solid receiving effort in Saturday's Wild Card loss to the Jets. He hauled in five passes for 46 yards on the night while being targeted by QB Peyton Manning a team-high (tied) eight times. Tamme caught consecutive passes for 26 yards on the team's final drive -- which was capped-off with a go-ahead field goal by Adam Vinatieri with less than one minute remaining.
Analysis: Tamme was big on the team's final drive just as he was in the second half of the season after replacing Dallas Clark, who ended up on injured reserve with a wrist issue. However, heading into 2011, his situation should be monitored with Clark expected to be back. If Clark returns healthy, expect Tamme to have a major drop-off in Fantasy play unless he ends up with another team via trade, to which he would be considered a low-end No. 1 TE. Otherwise, owners might want to take a risk on selecting Tamme at the end of the draft is they have roster space for an extra tight end.
News: Indianapolis TE Jacob Tamme put in another solid performance in the Week 17 win over the Titans. He hauled in six passes for 67 yards from QB Peyton Manning, including a key 11 yard reception that set up the game winning field goal from Adam Vinatieri. Tamme was targeted nine times, third most on the team. His regular season ends with 67 catches for 631 yards and four touchdowns.
Analysis: Tamme came out of nowhere in the middle of the season when Dallas Clark went on the injured reserve with a wrist injury. He has been reliable for Manning on third downs and critical spots, as he was again on Sunday to set up the game-winner. He should continue to excel in the playoffs next week against the Jets. However, heading into 2011, his situation should be monitored with Clark expected to be back. If Clark returns healthy, expect Tamme to have a major drop-off in Fantasy play. Owners might want to take a risk on taking him at the end of the draft is they have roster space for an extra tight end.
News: Indianapolis TE Jacob Tamme has been among the league's best players in the second half of the NFL season. Since Week 8, Tamme has paced the league with 60 receptions and is averaging 62.6 receiving yards per game while replacing injured TE Dallas Clark in the starting lineup. Tamme has posted just two games with fewer than six catches, and notched a career-high 11 catches in Week 9 at Philadelphia. Tamme, who entered the season with just six receptions combined in his previous two NFL season has amassed 564 yards and four touchdowns this year on 60 receptions. Indianapolis hosts Tennessee in Week 17.
Analysis: In his nine games this season, Tamme has become just as reliable as Clark and is averaging 9.4 yards per catch -- 12th in the NFL among tight ends with at least 50 receptions. Tamme led the Colts in targets (nine) in Week 16 and will likely see several looks against the Titans' 28th-ranked pass defense. Tennessee has surrendered the most yards to opposing tight ends (988) while yielding 8.1 Fantasy points per game to the position this season. In addition, tight ends have recorded at least 35 yards against Tennessee in each of the last four weeks. Consider Tamme a strong No. 1 Fantasy TE in Week 17.
News: After three straight slow performances, Colts TE Jacob Tamme got back on track in Week 16 against the Raiders. He caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from QB Peyton Manning in the first half and finished with seven catches for 78 yards in the 31-26 win. He led Indianapolis in both receptions and receiving yards. He was also targeted a team-high nine times. Tamme iced the game when he recovered an on-side kick with less than two minutes to go.
Analysis: Tamme entered Sunday with 15 catches for 117 yards over his last three games but finally broke out against the Raiders. With WR Austin Collie (concussion) done for the year, the 25-year-old saw a larger role on Sunday and made the most of it. He now has four touchdown grabs on the year and has been superb since taking over for the injured TE Dallas Clark (hand/wrist). He should be in for another fine performance next week when he takes on the Titans. When the division foes met earlier in the year, Tamme had four catches for 36 yards. Continue to view Tamme as a solid Fantasy TE in most leagues.
News: After catching a touchdown pass in each of his first two games this season, Colts TE Jacob Tamme has found the end zone just once over the last six weeks. He will look to chance that in Week 16 against the Raiders. Oakland enters Sunday ranked fifth in the league against the pass, allowing just 197.3 yard per contest, but have given up an average of 6.6 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Tamme did not have a big performance in his last outing but he was targeted heavily, especially after WR Austin Collie went down with an injury. Now that Collie out for the rest of the season, Tamme could see more looks over the final two games. Even though Oakland has a stout pass defense, they have given up the seventh-most Fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Tamme is due for a breakout performance so consider the 25-year-old a No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 16.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme missed a couple plays, at most, in the Week 15 win over Jacksonville. Tamme appeared to suffer a head injury just before halftime but was back playing in the second half for the Colts. He was targeted by quarterback Peyton Manning seven times in the game and made seven receptions for 34 yards. He did not score in the game.
Analysis: Tamme didn't score or go for many yards in the Week 15 game, but the seven catches on seven targets says a lot about how the Colts use him in the passing game. He's been quite solid since taking over for Dallas Clark and should remain a No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 16 in Oakland.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme, who left Sunday's game against Jacksonville in Week 15 in the second quarter with an apparent head injury, was able to return in the second half.
Analysis: Tamme remains a No. 1 Fantasy TE when healthy. Hopefully he will not suffer a setback against the Jaguars.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme left Sunday's game against Jacksonville in Week 15 the second quarter with an apparent head injury. His return is questionable. Tamme had four catches for 17 yards before leaving the game.
Analysis: Hopefully we'll see Tamme return in the second half. He's a No. 1 Fantasy TE when healthy, and he was heavily involved in the passing attack, as usual, before getting hurt.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme (knee) was not listed among the team's inactives for Week 15 against Jacksonville. Tamme will be healthy and will start the game. Tamme is the 11th-most targeted player at his position in the NFL entering this key contest. Tamme has done that in just seven games with at least four catches in every game and three touchdowns. Tamme is averaging almost 65 yards per game since he started catching passes.
Analysis: Tamme didn't see action against the Jaguars when the teams met in Week 4, but former starting TE Dallas Clark managed 68 yards and a touchdown against them. Jacksonville is allowing the eighth-most average Fantasy points per game to opposing players at that position, though they have only allowed one touchdown since the beginning of Week 10. Regardless, we expect big things out of the Colts against the Jaguars in Week 15 and Tamme is a No. 1 Fantasy option.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme (knee) is officially listed as questionable for Week 15 vs. Jacksonville, despite the fact he practiced in full all week. Tamme is the 11th-most targeted player at his position in the NFL entering this key contest. Tamme has done that in just seven games with at least four catches in every game and three touchdowns. Tamme is averaging almost 65 yards per game since he started catching passes.

Regardless, we expect big things out of the Colts against the Jaguars in Week 15 and Tamme is a No. 1 Fantasy option.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme was a little under the weather Wednesday but was still able to practice in full as Indianapolis began practice for its Week 15 game vs. Jacksonville. Tamme is the 11th-most targeted player at his position in the NFL entering Week 15 against Jacksonville.

News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme didn't even touch the football until Week 8 with Dallas Clark the starter for Indianapolis. That is why it is amazing that Tamme is already the 11th-most targeted player at his position in the NFL entering Week 15 against Jacksonville. Tamme has done that in just seven games with at least four catches in every game and three touchdowns. Tamme is averaging almost 65 yards per game since he started catching passes.
Analysis: Tamme didn't see action against the Jaguars when the team's met Week 4, but Clark managed 68 yards and a touchdown against them.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme -- who came into the game with a hamstring issue -- was able to haul in just four passes for 36 yards in the Week 14 game against the Titans. He was targeted five times by QB Peyton Manning on the night.
Analysis: Tamme was utilized over the middle on early downs Thursday night, but was not targeted in the end zone and ultimately held without a touchdown for the second straight week. Defenses are placing one of their best coverage LBs or DBs on him and in Week 14, Will Weatherspoon limited him to the pedestrian performance. In Week 15, he will look to get back on track against the Jaguars. Their defense allowed teammate Dallas Clark -- who Tamme has replaced in the starting lineup -- to rack up 68 yards and a score against them in Week 4.
News: According to the NFL Network, Colts TE Jacob Tamme (hamstring) is active for the Week 14 game against the Titans on Thursday night. He was listed as questionable heading into the matchup.
Analysis: An opposing TE has caught a touchdown against the Titans in three of the last five games. With Austin Collie (concussion) out yet again, Tamme should continue to see plenty of looks over the middle from QB Peyton Manning. He has caught 42 passes -- in six games -- since taking over for the injured Dallas Clark (wrist). Start him in all Fantasy formats.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday after sitting out the day before and is officially listed as questionable for Week 14 at Tennessee.
Analysis: Tamme will likely be a game-time decision for Thursday's contest against a Titans team that has given up the eighth-most Fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season. An opposing TE has caught a touchdown against the Titans in three of the last five games. With Austin Collie (concussion) out yet again, Tamme should continue to see plenty of looks over the middle from QB Peyton Manning. He has caught 42 passes -- in six games -- since taking over for the injured Dallas Clark (wrist). If Tamme's active, start him in all Fantasy formats.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme (hamstring) did not return to practice Tuesday as the team prepares for Week 14 against the Titans. Tamme has not missed a game this season due to injury.
Analysis: Tamme has one more day of practice before Fantasy owners need to be concerned about his status for Thursday. It's a short turnaround for the Colts, so it's likely he just needs some time to rest. Plan on keeping Tamme active in Fantasy unless we tell you otherwise.
News: Cots TE Jacob Tamme did not participate in practice on Monday due to a hamstring injury. Indianapolis plays Tennessee in Week 14. Tamme had four catches for 47 yards in Week 13 against the Cowboys.
Analysis: Tamme has become a hot commodity in Fantasy ever since taking over for the injured Dallas Clark and he should be good to go on Thursday night against the Titans. Despite his slow performance in Week 13, he's still one of the more consistent tight ends in the game and a favorite target of QB Peyton Manning. Keep him active as a No. 1 Fantasy option for Week 14 at Tennessee.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme, who hadn't recorded fewer than six catches or less than 60 yards in five games since taking over for the injured Dallas Clark in Week 8, fell short of both marks Week 13 against the Cowboys, finishing with four catches for 47 yards. He was targeted seven times.
Analysis: Pierre Garcon led the way for the Colts in the first half, catching eight passes for 56 yards. Reggie Wayne took charge in the second half, catching 12 passes for 184 yards. Tamme was kind of the odd man out. The Colts were playing from behind for much of the afternoon, and Tamme wouldn't have allowed them to stretch the field as much as their wide receivers did. He's still one of the more consistent tight ends in the game and a favorite target of QB Peyton Manning. Keep him active as a No. 1 Fantasy option for Week 14 at Tennessee on Thursday night.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme, who has no fewer than six catches in any of his five games since taking over for the injured Dallas Clark (wrist), will look to maintain the momentum Week 13 against the Cowboys. The Cowboys rank 23rd against he pass, allowing 244.0 points per game, and Colts QB Peyton Manning will be motivated to have a bounce-back performance after throwing a combined seven interceptions over his last two games.
Analysis: Tamme is averaging 7.6 catches for 73.8 yards with three touchdowns in the five games since Clark went down, emerging as Manning's favorite target. The Colts don't have much of a running game with Joseph Addai sidelined by a neck injury, so you have to figure Manning and the Colts will throw plenty against a defense that has struggled to stop the passing game. Tamme is almost certain to play a big role in Week 13 and is clearly a must-start Fantasy TE.
News: After failing to score in the last two games, Colts TE Jacob Tamme found the end zone in the Week 12 loss to the Chargers. He hauled in a team-high seven passes for 64 yards from QB Peyton Manning on nine targets. The two hooked-up for the touchdown on the game's opening drive, on a 4-yard connection.
Analysis: Tamme has been an absolute force since inheriting the starting TE spot from Dallas Clark (wrist). He now has three scores in five games as a starter. In Week 13, he will look to continue his impressive play against the Cowboys, who have limited TEs to just four TDs all year.
News: Since Dallas Clark (wrist) went down for the year, Colts TE Jacob Tamme has enjoyed an increased role in the passing game. He has caught 31 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns, the receptions and yards are the most by any tight end in the league since Week 8 according to the team's official website. In Week 12, he will try to expand on those numbers against the Chargers, whose defense has allowed five different TEs to score a TD against them after ten games.
Analysis: Tamme, as are the rest of the Colt WRs and TEs, continues to benefit from QB Peyton Manning's leadership and particular skill-set. Surprisingly, the numbers for Tamme could be even better. He has dropped his fair share of Manning's passes this season, including three last week. Still, he remains the hottest TE in the NFL receiving passes from arguably the best NFL passer of this generation. We have him as the top Fantasy option at TE in Week 12 against the Chargers. Tamme is a must-start.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme was fairly productive in Week 11 against the Patriots. Tamme was targeted 11 times in the 31-28 win and finished with seven receptions for 60 yards. He averaged 12.4 yards per reception, but failed to score in the contest.
Analysis: Tamme could have actually wound up with better numbers, but he had three drops in Sunday's loss. And while he has done an outstanding job while filling in for the injured Dallas Clark, Tamme has had the drops over the last few games, which is something Peyton Manning will not take lightly. Still, Manning has shown a history of leaning on his TEs in the passing game, so Tamme should still see plenty of targets moving forward. The Colts face a Chargers' team in Week 12 that has been very good at defending the pass this season. However, Manning has proven he can pick apart any secondary and should still be able to find Tamme on Sunday. Consider him a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE heading into to that matchup.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme heads into Week 11 against the Patriots leading all NFL TEs in November with 24 receptions and 245 yards. The Patriots are allowing TEs to average 7.4 Fantasy points per week. However, only one TE -- Dustin Keller -- has broken 100 yards against New England and no tight end has scored on the Patriots in their last four games.
Analysis: Tamme has been absolutely outstanding since replacing the injured Dallas Clark. He has benefited from the myriad of injuries at wide receiver, but even once Indy gets healthy, we don't expect Tamme's production to drop off dramatically. QB Peyton Manning has shown a history of leaning on his TEs in the passing game, so Tamme should be a nice Fantasy option the rest of the way. Tamme hasn't had a problem this week with the apparent back injury that had him laboring to walk on Sunday, so start Tamme as a No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 11.
News: A report surfaced Sunday after the Colts win over the Bengals that TE Jacob Tamme could barely walk after the game because of a lingering back injury. Well, it seems to be a non-issue leading up to Week 11 against the Patriots since Tamme has not appeared on the team's injury report.
Analysis: Tamme has been absolutely outstanding since replacing the injured Dallas Clark. He has 24 receptions for 245 yards and two touchdowns in his last three games. Unless you hear about a setback, then start Tamme in all Fantasy formats for Week 11.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme led his team with seven catches and 73 yards in a Week 10 win over the Bengals, but his day could have been better as he had just one catch in the second half. Tamme, who could barely walk after the game according to the Indianapolis Star, was clearly bothered by the back injury that caused him to miss some practice time coming into this contest.
Analysis: Tamme continues to be a superb target for Peyton Manning, although the QB had one of the worst games of his career on Sunday as he was held to 185 yards and no touchdowns. Tamme now has 24 catches for 245 yards since taking over for the injured Dallas Clark and should continue to put up great numbers every week as long as he can shake this back injury off. Keep him active in all formats as a No. 1 Fantasy TE for Week 11 at New England, but he's likely to miss more practice time again starting Wednesday and could well be a game-time decision.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme (back) was not listed among the inactives and will start in Week 10 vs. Cincinnati. The Bengals are allowing 6.4 Fantasy points a game to opposing TE corps this season and haven't allowed a tight end to go over 40 yards in their last three games.
Analysis: Tamme has proven to be a more than capable replacement for Dallas Clark over the last couple of games and is owned in 94 percent of leagues for good reason. This back injury appeared to be nothing serious and he remains a must-start option for Week 10 vs. the Bengals, even if this matchup might be a little tougher than most.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme (back) practiced in full for a second straight day Friday, but he is being listed as questionable for Week 10 vs.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme, who missed practice Wednesday with a back injury, returned to workouts in full on Thursday as Indianapolis continued preparations for its Week 10 game vs.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme, who caught 11 passes for 108 yards and a score in a Week 9 loss to the Eagles, missed practice Wednesday with a back injury. Indianapolis hosts Cincinnati in Week 10.
Analysis: Tamme's back might be hurting him because he pretty much carried the team in Week 9, even though he couldn't do enough to lead the Colts to victory. But seriously, hopefully this is just a minor issue and keep an eye on Tamme's status over the next couple of days. If he's fine to play in Week 10, he would be a must-start Fantasy option.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme didn't have a touchdown catch in his first 34 games as a professional, but that has all changed the past few weeks. Tamme has a touchdown in two straight games, as he fills in for the injured Dallas Clark. Tame was targeted a team-high 17 times, catching 11 passes for 108 yards -- almost as many yards as he had in his entire career. Tamme was Peyton Manning's target for one-third of his passes in Week 9 against the Eagles.
Analysis: Tamme is doing a heck of a job filling in for Clark. The Colts are banged up in the receiving corps, so having Tamme step up is a huge lift for the offense. With so many players injured, and the fact he's being targeted so often by Manning, Tamme should be viewed as No. 1 Fantasy TE. He's built a quick rapport with Manning, so owners should continue to ride this connection out. The Colts host the Bengals in Week 10.
News: Indianapolis TE Jacob Tamme looks to follow up his best outing as a pro against Philadelphia in Week 9. Tamme is coming off a 64 yard performance in Week 8 on Monday night and his first career touchdown. The Eagles are tough against the pass, but will have to deal with Peyton Manning this week. Tamme, filling in for the injured Dallas Clark, will continue to see targets in Indy's high-powered offense. Philadelphia has allowed 350 yards and four touchdowns to tight ends this year -- allowing two 100-yard outings.
Analysis: Tamme had a nice debut against Houston in Week 8 and will try to keep rolling against the Eagles. He has big shoes to fill, but with Manning throwing him the ball Tamme should be just fine. Manning makes everyone around him better, and Tamme is the latest benefactor. Fantasy owners should view him as a No. 1 TE option for Week 9 against Philly.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme scored his first career touchdown in Week 8 against the Texans. Tamme, who was starting in place of the injured Dallas Clark, was on the receiving end of a 2-yard strike from Peyton Manning in the first quarter. Tamme used a double move to get free in the back of end zone and give the Colts an early 7-0 lead. He finished third on the team with nine targets and wound up with six receptions for 64 yards and a score in the 30-17 win.
Analysis: Not a bad debut for Tamme, who is attempting fill some pretty big shoes with Clark out. Manning looked his way often on Monday and Tamme came through making some big catches. The former Kentucky Wildcat finished with career-highs in receptions and yards and could wind up being the waiver wire pick up of the year if he keeps on producing. It will be interesting to see if this was a one-time deal or if Tamme can produce on a regular basis moving forward. We will find out soon enough as the Colts head to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles in Week 9. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy TE in that matchup.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme did not receive the start at his usual position in Week 8 against the Texans. Brody Eldridge got the start at tight end on Monday night while Tamme was the starting H-Back.
Analysis: Tamme was supposed to pick up the producing with Dallas Clark out for the year so this move is a tad bit confuding. The Colts like to spread the ball around in their offense but there are too many other options to choose from for QB Peyton Manning. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the tight end situation in Indianapolis before considering Tamme a viable option in most leagues.
News: Though Colts TE Dallas Clark is out for the season, Texans LB Kevin Bentley said Jacob Tamme could be a capable replacement. Indianapolis and Houston square off in Week 8. They have really similar body types and both run good routes," Bentley said. "Im sure Peyton (Manning) is schooling him up. The Texans have been suspect against TEs in 2010, allowing them to average 11 Fantasy points per week, which is second highest in the NFL. Clark managed 80 yards and one touchdown on 11 catches in Week 1 against Houston. Tamme did not have a catch in the first matchup with Houston.
Analysis: While Bentley is talking up Tamme, we just can't assume Clark was a system guy and that Tamme can replace his production. The former Kentucky standout has to show us that he can be mentioned in the same breath as Clark before we jump all over him in Fantasy. There is no doubt Fantasy owners should keep tabs on Tamme and probably take a flier on him in deeper formats with Peyton Manning as his QB. But Manning could rely more on his receivers with Clark out. We just have to wait and see what happens with Indy. Consider Tamme a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 8.
News: With TE Dallas Clark (hand/wrist) out for the season, TE Jacob Tamme will replace him in Week 8 when Indy comes off its bye and hosts Houston. "He can play in-line, he can play as a wide receiver, he can play in the slot," coach Jim Caldwell said Thursday. "He's a pretty versatile performer."
Analysis: Tamme has six catches for 47 yards in his three-year NFL career and looked good this preseason when Clark went down. Sure, he's no Clark athletically, but Tamme might well see plenty of targets from Peyton Manning in the second half and is certainly worth adding in deeper formats if you need TE help.
News: With Colts TE Dallas Clark (hand/wrist) out indefinitely, TE Jacob Tamme could well replace him in Week 8 when Indy comes off its bye and hosts Houston. "He can play in-line, he can play as a wide receiver, he can play in the slot," coach Jim Caldwell said. "He's a pretty versatile performer."
Analysis: Tamme has six catches for 47 yards in his three-year NFL career and looked good this preseason when Clark went down. Sure, he's no Clark athletically, but Tamme might well see plenty of targets from Peyton Manning if Clark misses time, so think about adding Tamme in deeper formats if you need TE help.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Peyton Manning in the first quarter of Thursday's preseason game against the Bills in Toronto. Tamme saw increased playing time with Dallas Clark sidelined due to injury. He also caught a touchdown pass in the team's preseason opener against the 49ers.
Analysis: Despite the promising start to the preseason, Tamme is not in line for significant playing time in the regular season. Barring injuries creating relevant playing time, we don't suggest adding Tamme to any Fantasy roster.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme managed one reception for 21 yards in the snow in the Week 17 loss at Buffalo. The 21-yard gain was the longest pass play for the Colts on the afternoon.
Analysis: Tamme was expected to see a boost in production as the Colts rested their regulars at Buffalo in the season finale. He only managed to catch passes in three games this season, his second in the NFL. Hes not expected to be a viable option next season and should be targeted going into Draft Day.
News: Colts RB Mike Hart, RB Chad Simpson and TE Jacob Tamme all dressed but failed to record an offensive stat in Week 16 against the Jets.
Analysis: Most of these players are reserves for the Colts and only see significant playing time on offense if an injury befalls a starter. They are not recommended Fantasy options heading into Week 17. The Colts play the Bills.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme, who had one catch way back in Week 1, finally recorded his second reception of the season Week 15 at Jacksonville. It went for 8 yards.
Analysis: Tamme clearly doesn't play a big enough role on offense to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers for Week 16 against the Jets.
News: The following Colts players did not record any offensive statistics in Week 14 against Denver: QB Curtis Painter, WR Hank Baskett, TE Jacob Tamme, RB Chad Simpson, TE Justin Snow.
Analysis: None of the players listed here have any Fantasy appeal. Leave them on waivers in all leagues until further notice.

Analysis: Keep all of these players reserved for Week 13 against Tennessee. They have minimal Fantasy value in all leagues.
News: Colts RB Chad Simpson, TE Justin Snow, TE Jacob Tamme, QB Curtis Painter and WR Hank Baskett all dressed for Indy's Week 11 win over Baltimore but failed to record an offensive stat.
Analysis: Simpson is a decent reserve to carry if you own Addai in a deep-roster league, but he's not worth your time in standard-scoring formats. The rest of these guys have no Fantasy value heading into Week 12 at Houston.
News: Colts QB Curtis Painter, TE Justin Snow, WR Hank Baskett, RB Mike Hart and TE Jacob Tamme all dressed for Indianapolis' Week 10 win over the Patriots but failed to record an offensive statistic.
Analysis: None of these players are worth using in the majority of leagues. Keep them reserved in all formats for Week 11 against Baltimore.
News: Colts QB Jim Sorgi, TE Gijon Robinson, TE Justin Snow, WR Hank Baskett, RB Mike Hart and TE Jacob Tamme all dressed for Indianapolis' Week 9 win over the Texans but failed to record an offensive statistic.

Analysis: None of these players are worth using in the majority of leagues. The Colts have a bye in Week 6.
News: Colts TE Gijon Robinson, RB Mike Hart, TE Justin Snow, WR Hank Baskett, TE Jacob Tamme and QB Jim Sorgi all dressed for Indy's Week 4 win over the Seahawks, but failed to record an offensive stat.
Analysis: None of these players have much Fantasy value heading into Week 5 at Tennessee. Ignore them in all formats.
News: The following Colts were active in Week 3 at Arizona on Sunday night but did not pick up any offensive stats: WR Hank Baskett, TE Justin Snow, RB Chad Simpson, TE Gijon Robinsin, QB Jim Sorgi and TE Jacob Tamme.
Analysis: None of these players have much Fantasy value heading into Week 4 against Seattle. Keep them reserved in all leagues. Only Baskett is worth keeping an eye on, but the Colts haven't used him in two games now.
News: The following Colts players played in Monday night's Week 2 win over Miami but did not pick up any stats: WR Hank Baskett, TE Justin Snow and TE Jacob Tamme. Backup QB Jim Sorgi did not play in the game but was active.
Analysis: Baskett could be worth adding in deeper leagues once he gets an understanding of the offense and has some practice time. Leave him on waivers Week 3 at Arizona, however. The rest of the players above can be avoided in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Colts backup TEs Jacob Tamme and Gijon Robinson each made one catch in a Week 1 win over the Jaguars. Tamme's went for six yards, while Robinson's went for four.
Analysis: Both of these guys are stuck behind elite TE Dallas Clark in Indy and have no Fantasy value at this time. The Colts play at Miami in Week 2.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme had a team-high five catches for 60 yards during Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles. His longest catch went for 23 yards.
Analysis: Tamme started alongside Dallas Clark Thursday in the Colts' two-TE set. He was targeted three times by QB Peyton Manning in the first three series, catching one pass. Tamme had a pretty lackluster rookie season in 2008, but is hoping to get more involved in 2009. Tamme was a good pass-catching TE in college at Kentucky, so he could possibly emerge as a receiving option for Indy. Still, it's probably best to leave him on Fantasy waivers until he starts making noise in games that count.
News: According to the official team web site, Colts TE Jacob Tamme is hoping to do more this season in his second year. "There's a big difference as far as surroundings between your rookie year and now," Tamme said. "You're a little more settled. You know the area and you know the people. That's the big thing. You know the people around the building. You know what's going on in the weight room. You get so many initiations into the NFL in your rookie year. You get so many situations. Even last year, without playing a lot of offense on the field, I still got so much experience both in the preseason and in practice and on special teams that there are lot of things I can take with me and build on. I know what it's about out there on the field. That's nice."
Analysis: Tamme caught three passes for 12 yards in the regular season as Dallas Clark's backup. He will remain in that role again but could see more passes if Clark lines up at WR to help replace the departed Marvin Harrison. Don't draft Tamme in any leagues, but he could be used as a bye-week replacement in deep formats if he improves in his sophomore season.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme, TE Justin Snow, WR Roy Hall and backup QB Jim Sorgi were all active for Week 16's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night. None recorded any stats in the game, however. Sorgi didn't play as Peyton Manning never came off the field.
Analysis: None of these players ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. The only exception to that rule may come in Week 17 against Tennessee, however, with coach Tony Dungy saying he will likely rest his regulars. Still, it will be way to hard to tell who will get production and who won't.
News: Indianapolis TE Jacob Tamme, TE Justin Snow, WR Roy Hall and backup QB Jim Sorgi all were active for Week 15's win over the Lions but none recorded any stats in the game. Sorgi never saw action as Peyton Manning's backup.

Analysis: None of these players ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers for Week 15 against Detroit.

News: The Colts had the following players fail to stat in Week 11's win over the Texans: TE Gijon Robinson, TE Justin Snow, TE Jacob Tamme, WR Pierre Garcon and backup QB Jim Sorgi.
Analysis: Most of these players are reserves for the Colts and factor little into the offense. It's no surprise they were held off the stat sheet Week 11. Continue to ignore them in Fantasy heading into Week 12 as the Colts play the Chargers in San Diego.
News: Colts TE Gijon Robinson, RB Chad Simpson, TE Justin Snow, TE Jacob Tamme and QB Jim Sorgi all dressed, but failed to record an offensive stat Week 10 at Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Most of these players are reserves for the Colts and factor little into the offense. It's no surprise they were held off the stat sheet Week 10. Continue to ignore them in Fantasy heading into Week 11. The Colts play the Texans.
News: The Colts listed DB Bob Sanders, DB Kelvin Hayden, LB Buster Davis, WR Roy Hall, TE Jacob Tamme and LB Marcus Howard among their inactives for Week 8 at Tennessee.
Analysis: Sanders has minimal Fantasy appeal on his own, but his absence hurts the Colts DST as far as defending the run goes. None of these other players has any Fantasy appeal even when active.
News: Colts TE Tom Santi, RB Clifton Dawson, TE Justin Snow, TE Jacob Tamme, WR Pierre Garcon and QB Jim Sorgi all dressed, but failed to record an offensive stat Week 7 against the Packers.
Analysis: Most of these players are either reserves or see significant time on special teams for the Colts. They are not an integral part of the offense and have little to no Fantasy appeal. Continue to keep them reserved in Fantasy heading into Week 8 against the Titans.
News: The Indianapolis Colts have announced the inactives for their Week 5 game at Houston. Not in uniform will be: DB Bob Sanders, LB Buster Davis, WR Roy Hall, TE Jacob Tamme, DT Daniel Muir and DE Marcus Howard.
Analysis: Sanders is the only guy in this group with Fantasy value, but he had already been declared out earlier this week. Continue to ignore everyone else.
News: The Colts listed the following players as inactive for Week 3 vs. Jacksonville: WR Roy Hall, TE Jacob Tamme, SS Bob Sanders, DL Daniel Muir, DL Curtis Johnson and DL Marcus Howard.
Analysis: None of the players on this list are going to be in line for considerable playing time anytime soon. Leave them on the waiver wire in all Fantasy leagues until further notice. They've got some depth chart climbing to do.
News: Colts TE Jacob Tamme (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 3 vs. Jacksonville. Tamme missed his first NFL game Week 2 and has not practiced this week.
Analysis: Tamme caught one pass for three yards in his NFL debut Week 1 against the Bears. He was a pass-catching specialist in college at Kentucky, but is nothing more than a backup TE at this point in his career. Tamme has little to no Fantasy value when healthy.
News: The Colts inactives for Week 2 at Minnesota include TE Jacob Tamme, WR Roy Hall, DT Daniel Muir and DE Marcus Howard.
Analysis: Keep all of these players reserved and hope they can return for Week 3 against Jacksonville.
News: Colts TE Dallas Clark (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 2 at Minnesota. Clark returned to limited practice reps Friday after being held out the previous two days. Head coach Tony Dungy told NFL.com that Clark will be a game-time decision Sunday. "Dallas has a couple of busloads of people who are coming, so that always makes you feel better," Dungy said. "We'll see what happens." If Clark can't play, and with Jacob Tamme (ankle) already out, Dungy said the team will still use multiple tight-end sets with Gijon Robinson and Tom Santi.
Analysis: Tamme caught one pass for three yards in his NFL debut Week 1 against the Bears. He was a pass-catching specialist in college at Kentucky and could have stepped up in Clark's absence. He still has little to no Fantasy value when healthy. Keep Tamme reserved Week 2.
News: Colts rookie TE Jacob Tamme caught one pass for three yards in his NFL debut Week 1 against the Bears.
Analysis: Starting TE Dallas Clark left the game in the first quarter with a knee injury, so if he ends up missing time, Tamme could end up a Fantasy sleeper of sorts. The rookie out of Kentucky did end up No. 2 among SEC tight ends in career receptions. But until you see more from him, don't bother with him in Fantasy. The Colts visit the Vikings in Week 2.
News:Jacob Tamme has always been a quick study. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in three years, made a seamless transition from high school receiver to college tight end and wound up No. 2 among SEC tight ends in career receptions. Now Tamme is showing the Indianapolis Colts how adept he is on his feet. "He's done a lot of the things we saw him doing in college, he's doing the things we've seen him do in practice and he's done it all well," coach Tony Dungy said. The Colts figured Tamme would fit into their system. They liked his speed, his route-running skills and his hands. They also liked the fact Tamme played in a similarly wide-open offense at Kentucky, and that he spent the past couple of years modeling his game after another Colts tight end, Dallas Clark.
Analysis: While some rookies are slow to pick up the nuances of new teammates and new systems, Tamme has shown no sign of struggling. He's played well enough, in fact, to keep himself in contention for a starting job in the Colts' offense. Unlike most teams, the Colts' standard offense uses a one-back formation with two tight ends. One of those spots, barring injury, will go to Clark. The fight for the other spot, vacated when Ben Utecht left for Cincinnati in free agency and the Colts released No. 3 tight end Bryan Fletcher, appears to be between Tamme and Gijon Robinson, who spent last season on the Colts' practice squad. Even if Tamme wins the job behind Clark, he is not expected to make huge Fantasy dividends in 2008. Ignore him until further notice.
