News: The Bears have released defensive tackle Matt Toeaina. Toeaina started 24 of 36 games played in five seasons with the Bears, recording 66 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble and two tackles for losses.
Analysis: He wasn't and isn't expected to produce good stats, so keeping him off of Fantasy rosters should be an easy chore.
News: The Bears placed defensive lineman Matt Toeaina on injured reserve Monday.
Analysis: Toeaina started a few games for the Bears this season, but he didn't make much of an impact. He had no Fantasy appeal.
News: Bears DL Matt Toeaina left Week 5 against the Lions due to a knee injury. He did not post any stats before being forced from the game.
Analysis: Toeaina has just five tackles on the year and his main purpose on defense is to clog up the middle. Continue to ignore him in the majority of Fantasy IDP formats, healthy or not.
News: DL Matt Toeaina agreed to a multiyear contract extension with the Bears on Monday. He is now under contract through 2013 after tacking on three more years. Toeaina has played in 20 games with 34 tackles since he was signed off Cincinnati's practice squad in 2007. He has made 10 starts this season and appeared in every game, with 28 tackles, two sacks, two pass break-ups and a fumble recovery.
Analysis: Toeaina is having a career year for the Bears but his main job is to clog up the middle along the defensive front. That does not give him a ton of Fantasy value so continue to ignore the 26-year-old in all but the deepest of IDP formats heading into Week 17 against the Packers.
News: Bears DL Matt Toeaina recorded his second sack of the year in Week 15 against the Vikings. He brought down rookie QB Joe Webb and finished with two tackles and a fumble recovery in the 40-14 win.

News: Chicago defensive tackle Matt Toeaina recorded his first career sack in the Bears' victory over the Eagles in Week 12 on Sunday. Toeaina was one of four Chicago linemen to earn a sack on Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick.
Analysis: Toeaina's sack for a seven-yard loss was an exhibit of the Bears' plan for containing the nimble Vick. While other defenders in the cover-2 scheme flushed Vick into the heart of the pass rush, Toeaina was able to take him down. He carries marginal Fantasy value going forward.
News: The Bears announced that exclusive-rights free agents RB Kahlil Bell, LB Tim Shaw and DT Matt Toeaina have been re-signed for the 2010 season.
Analysis: Bell is best known for his long jaunt last season against the Eagles, then wasn't heard from again. He's expected to be a reserve RB for the Bears in 2010. Shaw has some upside as a linebacker but needs playing time to reach it. Ultimately none of these guys warrant Fantasy use.
News: The following Bears players have been declared inactive for Week 17 at Detroit: QB Brett Basanez, WR Johnny Knox, DB Al Afalava, DB Danieal Manning, TE Lance Louis and DL Matt Toeaina.
Analysis: Knox and Manning are the only Fantasy-viable guys in this group, but both were doubtful coming into Week 17, so you should have already made preparations to be without them. Continue to ignore all the other guys. Knox will be a late-round sleeper heading into 2010.

News: Bears WR Juaquin Iglesias, WR Devin Aromashodu, DB DeAngelo Smith, DB D.J. Moore, LB Pisa Tinoisamoa, TE Lance Louis, DL Matt Toeaina and TE Desmond Clark have all been ruled inactive for Week 3 at Seattle.
Analysis: Clark sees a fair amount of snaps at tight end for the Bears when active, but he doesn't have great numbers playing next to Greg Olsen and has minimal Fantasy appeal. Most of these players have little to no Fantasy appeal when active since they are primarily backups. Keep them reserved Week 3.
News: Chicago lists the following players as inactive for Week 1's Sunday night game against the Green Bay Packers: WR Juaquin Iglesias, WR Devin Aromashodu, CB D.J. Moore, S Josh Bullocks, DT Matt Toeaina, TE Michael Gaines and DT Jarron Gilbert.
Analysis: Iglesias and Aromashodu could become Fantasy options in the deepest of leagues later in the year but for now can be avoided in all leagues. The same goes for the rest of the players listed above.
News: The Chicago Bears have announced the Week 13 inactives for their game at Minnesota. Not in uniform will be: QB Caleb Hanie (third QB), RB Thomas Jones, RB Jason McKie, DL Matt Toeaina, WR Brandon Rideau, WR Marty Booker and DL Ervin Baldwin.

News: The Bears have listed the following players as being inactive for Week 12 at St. Louis: QB Caleb Hanie (3rd QB), DB Marcus Hamilton, RB Kevin Jones, LB Darrell McClover, DL Matt Toeaina, WR Earl Bennett, WR Marty Booker and DL Ervin Baldwin.
Analysis: In his second stint with the Bears after spending the past four seasons with Miami, Booker has just 11 receptions for 183 yards and two touchdowns and has not caught a pass the past three games. His last reception was against Minnesota on Oct. 19. He obviously has little to no Fantasy value when healthy. The other players on this list have no Fantasy value at this time.

Analysis: Apart from Jones, who has some minor appeal in deeper league, none of these other players have any Fantasy value at this time, so continue to ignore them in all formats.

Analysis: This is the second game Lloyd will miss for the Bears. Keep him reserved and hope he can return soon. All the other players have minimal Fantasy value and should be kept on the bench against the Falcons.
News: The Bears listed DL Tommie Harris among their inactives for Week 4 against the Eagles after he missed practice all week with a knee injury. QB Caleb Hanie, DB Craig Steltz, DB Marcus Hamilton, DL Matt Toeaina and WR Earl Bennett were also inactive.
Analysis: Harris is a better Fantasy performer than most defensive tackles, but his role on the defense still limits his Fantasy upside, making him a low-end IDP option. None of these other players has any Fantasy value.
News: The Bears list the following players at inactive for Week 2 against the Panthers: QB Caleb Hanie, DB Craig Steltz, RB Adrian Peterson, DL Matt Toeaina, WR Earl Bennett and DL Anthony Adams.

Analysis: Toeaina was a sixth-round choice of the Bengals and spent the first 14 games this season on Cincinnati's practice squad. He played in college at Oregon. He is not expected to make that big of a Fantasy impact down the stretch and can be left off Fantasy rosters.

News: On Sunday, the Bengals signed WR Bennie Brazell, DB John Busing, TE Tim Day, OL Nate Livings, FB Chris Manderino, DT Matt Toeaina and OL Dane Uperesa to their practice squad.
Analysis: None of these players should be drafted in any Fantasy leagues in 2007. They will not get enough playing time to help your roster this season.
News: The Bengals signed seven players to their practice squad, including WR Bennie Brazell, DB John Busing, TE Tim Day, FB Chris Manderino and DT Matt Toeaina.
Analysis: None of these players should be drafted in any Fantasy leagues in 2007. They will not get enough playing time to help your roster this season.

News: Rookie Matt Toeaina - a 6-foot-2, 311-pound defensive tackle - caught a fluttering football and rumbled 81 yards for a score that gave Cincinnati a 26-10 lead early in the fourth quarter for Thursday's preseason opener at Detroit. However, the reserves allowed 17 points in the fourth, as the Lions rallied for a 27-26 win.
Analysis: Despite the quarterback hurry, interception, touchdown and two passes defensed, Toeaina is not expected to make much of an impact from a Fantasy perspective in IDP leagues.
News: Running back Kenny Irons and four other draft choices signed contracts Thursday with the Cincinnati Bengals, who were set to open camp without their No. 1 pick. The Bengals also signed quarterback Jeff Rowe, a fifth-round pick from Nevada; defensive tackle Matt Toeaina, a sixth-round choice from Oregon; and center Dan Santucci and safety Chinedum Ndukwe, both seventh-round picks from Notre Dame.
Analysis: Rowe, Toeaina and Ndukwe likely won't make a big, if any, kind of impact in 2007. Ignore them all in Fantasy leagues at this time.
News: The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the Bengals and DT Matt Toeaina agreed to a four-year deal.
Analysis: Toeaina won't put up enough stats to warrant use in Fantasy play.
News: Aside from second-round pick RB Kenny Irons, the Bengals' 2007 draft class includes: Michigan CB Leon Hall, TCU FS Marvin White, Nevada QB Jeff Rowe, Oregon DT Matt Toeaina, Notre Dame OG Dan Santucci and Notre Dame SS Chinedum "Nedu' Ndukwe.
Analysis: Only Fantasy owners in IDP leagues should pay attention here as Rowe won't be anything more than the club's No. 3/emergency QB in 2007. Hall is a terrific cornerback who should start right away for the Bengals and help their sagging secondary. He'll be a good reserve DB in IDP league play. White is a fast safety who should be a difference maker once he gets a chance, while the others will provide team depth at their respective positions.
