Dolphins could trade Mike Wallace, Cameron Wake

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/28/2014) The Dolphins could be open to trading No. 1 receiver Mike Wallace and top pass rusher Cameron Wake, reports CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason LaCanfora.

LaCanfora reports that "through conversations with numerous decision-makers from other clubs ... Miami looks to retool its roster under a new regime." He writes that the Dolphins need to revamp their offensive line, possibly by moving up the draft board to land an offensive tackle.

Sources close to Wallace and Wake expressed a belief that a trade would not be a shock this offseason, though Wallace's hefty contract would limit his options.

Dolphins pass rushers neutralized by Bills

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/22/2013) The Dolphins' pass-rushing tandem of defensive end Olivier Vernon and linebacker Cameron Wake failed to make much of an impact in Week 16 against the Bills. Neither player managed to pick up a sack in the 19-0 loss; Vernon had five tackles, while Wake had just four.

Heading into the final game of the season, Vernon has 11 1/2 sacks, while Wake has 8 1/2, the second-lowest total of his career.

Cameron Wake makes big play

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/8/2013) Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake came up with a big play in Week 14 against the Steelers, and it helped the Dolphins earn a 34-28 win. Wake ended his sack-less streak at  two games, by bringing down Ben Roethlisberger, and he also forced a fumble the Dolphins were able to jump on for their lone turnover in the game.

Wake has been surprisingly quiet for long stretches of the season, but still has 7 1/2 sacks with three games left.

Defensive players dominate Dolphins injury report

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/22/2013) Only defensive players are listed on the Friday injury report released by the Dolphins. But most of them are probable and will almost certainly play against Carolina on Sunday.

The probables are cornerback Nolan Carroll (ankle), safety Chris Clemons (glute), linebackers Dannell Ellerbe (knee), Koa Misi (shoulder) and Jonathan Freeny (shoulder) and tackle Paul Soliai (knee).

Listed as questionable are end Cameron Wake (knee), linebacker Jason Trusnik (rib) and cornerback Don Jones (elbow). Fellow cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin) is out.

Cameron Wake terrorizes the quarterback in win

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/1/2013) Dolphins defensive lineman Cameron Wake has dealt with a knee injury that has slowed him this season, but he finally seems healthy. Wake had a huge game in Week 9 against the Bengals, as he essentially won the game for Miami in a 22-20 final.

Wake racked up three sacks, none of which was bigger than when he took down Andy Dalton in the end zone in overtime to force a game-winning safety. He finished the game with five tackles overall, and added a forced fumble and recovery on an earlier sack.

Wake had gone five games without a sack before Thursday, largely thanks to a knee injury he says he is now passed. He still has 5 1/2 through eight games, putting him on pace for another season in double figures.

Cameron Wake continues to do little

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/27/2013) Dolphins defensive lineman Cameron Wake continued to struggle to make an impact in Week 8 against the Patriots, as his sack-less streak reached five games. Wake, who continues to deal with a knee injury, had just two tackles in the 27-17 loss.

Wake had 2 1/2 sacks in the season opener, but has none since.

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/27/2013) The Dolphins had five defensive players listed on the injury report for Week 8 against the Patriots, and all five were able to take the field Sunday. Linebackers Dannell Ellerbe (shoulder) and Koa Misi (knee), defensive backs Dimitri Patterson (groin) and Brent Grimes (back) and defensive lineman Cameron Wake (knee) were all considered probable and able to play through injury.

Cameron Wake questionable for Week 8 game

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10/25/2013) Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake seems to be taking the same path to the field this week as he did last week. He is again listed as questionable with a knee injury after having been limited throughout in practice.

Wake was even limited in the loss to Buffalo last Sunday, sitting much of the way and contributing just one tackle. It remains to be seen if he is given a bigger role against the Patriots - or if he plays at all.

Cameron Wake limited in return to health

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/20/2013) Dolphins defensive lineman Cameron Wake played through a knee issue in Week 7 against the Bills, but had a limited role yet again in a 23-21 loss.

Wake had just one tackle in the game, and was not on the field for the majority of the game. Afterwards, coach Joe Philbin told the Miami Herald he still wants to ease the team's elite pass rusher back in, despite him being at full health.

"You can't go from zero snaps to 70," he said.

Dolphins defense in good shape Sunday

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/20/2013) The Dolphins injury report for Week 7 against the Bills featured plenty of defensive players, but most were able to play through their issues. The lone exception is linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (shoulder), who will be replaced in the starting lineup Sunday by Jason Trusnik (rib).

Linebacker Koa Misi (shoulder, knee), defensive backs Dimitri Patterson (groin) and Chris Clemons (knee), and defensive linemen Dion Jordan (ankle) and Cameron Wake (knee) were all able to suit up and are active for Sunday's game.

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/18/2013) The Dolphins defense is expected to be at something close to full strength in Week 7 against the Bills, as five of seven players listed on the injury report Friday are probable.

While Dannell Ellerbe (shoulder) and Dimitri Patterson (groin) might have to sit out Sunday's game, the rest of the defense looks to be in good shape. Among those listed on the injury report as probable are defensive back Chris Clemons (knee(, defensive linemen Cameron Wake (knee) and Dion Jordan (ankle), and linebacker Koa Misi (shoulder, knee) and Jason Trusnik (rib).

Cameron Wake campaigning for Sunday action

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10/3/2013) Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake expressed deep disappointment at being inactive Monday night in New Orleans with a knee injury and has been working to receive medical clearance to play Sunday against Baltimore.

"I haven't missed a game becauseof injury since 2001," he reported to the South Florida Sun Sentinel. "It is really tough not being out there with the guys. I feel like I can go out there and help. If I had one leg I'd try to go out there and run around. We've got to make the best decision for the team and at that point [in New Orleans] it was to sit me down."

Wake has been practicing on a limited basis with a knee brace. He is not a sure bet to play against the Ravens. A Week 6 bye would then provide him three full weeks of recovery.

Cameron Wake trying to play Week 5

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/2/2013) Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake, who sat out Week 4 with a sprained knee, said he wants to play Week 5 vs. Baltimore, but knows the decision is not up to him.

"I’m going to do everything I can to be ready for Sunday," Wake said after practice Wednesday, per ESPN. "Whatever decision is in the best interest of the team and the best interest for myself, that will be made on Sunday."

Wake is not 100 percent and with the Dolphins on a bye Week 6, he could miss another game Sunday.

"I feel better," Wake said. "But we don’t play today. So we will see what happens on Sunday."
