Eric Winston released in final round of cuts

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(8/30/2014) The Seahawks released offensive lineman Eric Winston Saturday in their final round of cuts, ProFootballTalk.com reports.

Winston signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks after the Cardinals failed to re-sign him. Winston has started 119 games in a row, a streak that is obviously now in serious jeopardy unless he catches on elsewhere.

Eric Winston signs with Seahawks

Eric Winston getting antsy

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/30/2014) Free agent right tackle Eric Winston, who has started 119 straight games, said the Cardinals haven't shown strong interest in re-signing him, reports the Arizona Republic.

"I can't say there have been super-positive talks or anything like that," he said. "It doesn't seem like anything is being done. I'd still love to come back to Arizona. I love the guys in the locker room, love the city, and I think the team will be really good with or without me. They're ready to have a special run out there.

"At the same time, it is what it is. I'm looking to get on a team as soon as possible, hopefully before the draft. I know I still have some miles left on the tires, and I'm looking to burn them off."

The Cardinals could go with Bobby Massie and Bradley Sowell at right tackle. Winston, 30, was just elected president of the NFL Players Association, a position he says should not affect his signability.

Eric Winston to sign with the Cardinals

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/25/2013) The Cardinals and offensive tackle Eric Winston appear to be on the verge of a one-year deal. ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted the news Thursday morning

Winston has spent the last two seasons with two different teams but is considered a viable starting lineman in the league. He should improve a Cardinals O-line that allowed 58 sacks last season.
