News: According to CBS Sports Radio 610 in Houston, it appears the Texans are a step closer to signing receiver Mike Sims-Walker. The Texans had him on the field Tuesday for the first day of their three-day minicamp. Currently, the Texans are thin at receiver with Andre Johnson sidelined with a knee injury, leaving Kevin Walter as the only healthy receiver on the roster with a catch in an NFL game. Sims-Walker, a five-year veteran, had some good years with the Jaguars. He caught 63 catches for 869 yards and seven touchdowns in 2009, but his production dropped off considerably last season and he was cut by the Rams after just four games. He looked pretty good, Texans coach Gary Kubiak said after Tuesdays practice. Obviously jumping out here in this heat we are having right now is pretty tough. Thought he did some pretty good things but we will go back and look at the tape and all the periods and see how he did. It gives us three days to evaluate.
Analysis: We'll find out if the Texans decide to sign Sims-Walker, who would come in and compete with Lestar Jean and rookie DeVier Posey for playing time. We have little faith in Sims-Walker making an impact, but keep an eye on his status and see what develops.
News: The Texans will bring in receiver Mike Sims-Walker for a workout on Wednesday, according to ESPN. Sims-Walker (6-foot-2, 197 pounds) caught 14 touchdowns for the Jaguars in 2009-10 before signing with the Rams last summer. He appeared in just four games in St. Louis before re-signing with Jacksonville shortly after his release from the Rams, then promptly was put on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Analysis: Sims-Walker hasn't regained his form because defenses became physical with him and he hasn't been able to play effectively with injuries. If the Texans sign him, he'll compete for a roster spot and isn't promised anything as far as playing time. He's not worth owning in Fantasy right now.
News: The Jaguars placed WR Mike Sims-Walker on injured reserve Wednesday because of a knee injury to make room on the roster for Brian Robiskie, who was claimed off waivers from Cleveland.
Analysis: MSW's second stint with the Jaguars didn't last long. He played two games, made one catch and is now done for the season. Cut MSW in all Fantasy formats.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker had a quiet game Sunday at the Texans. Sims-Walker had no catches despite seeing four targets.
Analysis: Sims-Walker, even being reunited with his former team in Jacksonville, has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him in all leagues.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker is active for Week 8 at Houston after showing up on the injury report late in the week due to an illness. He was probable on the injury report.
Analysis: Sims-Walker is back with the Jaguars after his stint with the Rams didn't go so well. However, MSW is still working his way back into the Jaguars offense and is not a recommended Fantasy option for Week 8.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker missed practice Friday with an illness, but coach Jack Del Rio said Friday he expects Sims-Walker to play against the Texans in Week 8. Sims-Walker started last week after re-signing with the team the previous Wednesday.
Analysis: Sims-Walker played Monday against the Ravens, but he recorded just one catch for 11 yards. The last time he was in Jacksonville, David Garrard was still the QB. This time around it's rookie Blaine Gabbert, who is going through growing pains as a starter. Don't plan on starting Sims-Walker in Fantasy just yet.
News: In bit of a surprise move, the Jaguars started WR Mike Sims-Walker in Week 7 against the Ravens. Sims-Walker, who re-signed with the team last Wednesday, got the nod over Mike Thomas, although he wasn't much of a factor in the 12-7 victory. He finished with just one reception for 11 yards in the win and was targeted twice by QB Blaine Gabbert.
Analysis: Sims-Walker was not expected to start on Monday night, but coach Jack Del Rio decided to go with the 27-year-old. However, he wasn't much of a factor against the Ravens, but then again no one on Jacksonville really was. While Sims-Walker has been unable to repeat his production from his 2009 season, his addition should be able to help open up the Jaguars' passing game moving forward. It appears he will remain in the starting lineup moving forward and therefore can be considered a No. 3 Fantasy WR heading into Week 8 against the Texans.
News: After signing a one-year contract for the veteran minimum to return to Jacksonville on Wednesday, WR Mike Sims-Walker is out to provide a boost for the NFLs worst offense. Sims-Walker, who was released by St. Louis after the Rams acquired WR Brandon Lloyd, caught 11 passes for 139 yards in four games. He dropped two balls in a close game against Washington, and then was inactive for Week 6 at Green Bay. "It feels great, Sims-Walker said Thursday about his return to the Jaguars. I cant stop smiling. I feel like Im at home again.
Analysis: Sims-Walker caught 106 passes for 1,431 yards and 14 touchdowns in his final two years in Jacksonville. The Jaguars let him walk in free agency, believing Jason Hill and rookie Cecil Shorts would fill the void. It didnt happen. Hill has 14 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns; Shorts is still looking for his first catch. Sims-Walker will now work with a different quarterback as rookie Blaine Gabbert is under center. I caught a few today from him," Sims-Walker said. "Great ball, strong arm, on the money. I didnt have to break stride or anything, so I think its going to be fun." Fantasy owners should leave Sims-Walker reserved for Week 7 against Baltimore, which boasts the league's seventh-best pass defense.
News: As anticipated, the Jaguars signed free agent WR Mike Sims-Walker on Wednesday. Sims-Walker was released by St. Louis on Monday. He spent the previous three seasons with Jacksonville.
Analysis: Sims-Walker did have some relative success with Jacksonville the past two seasons, catching seven touchdown passes each year. However, that was with David Garrard as the quarterback. It remains to be seen where he will fit in with Blaine Gabbert at QB. He could start opposite WR Mike Thomas, but has the upside of no more than a No. 3 WR in Fantasy. He'll have to prove reliable before he would be a recommended play in Fantasy again.
News: The Florida Times-Union reports that free agent WR Mike Sims-Walker will signed with the Jaguars. Sims-Walker was released by St. Louis on Monday. He spent the previous three seasons with Jacksonville. "Back to where it all begin but as a better Player and Man," Sims-Walker wrote in a post on his Twitter feed.

News: The Rams released WR Mike Sims-Walker on Monday. He was moved in order to make room on the 53-man roster for newly acquired WR Brandon Lloyd.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has been let go by the Jaguars and Rams now, two teams that could use help at wide receiver. He seems like a long shot to make an impact in Fantasy this season and is a player owners should be looking to cut this week in favor of more productive options off the waiver wire.
News: The Rams completed a trade for Broncos WR Brandon Lloyd on Monday. The Rams sent the Broncos a late-round 2012 draft pick. On Sunday, the Rams made Mike Sims-Walker a healthy inactive for their Week 6 game against Green Bay.
Analysis: Sims-Walker appears to be in the doghouse in St. Louis and the presence of Lloyd certainly won't help. Lloyd will become the team's No. 1 WR by default. The Rams went with Danario Alexander and Brandon Gibson against the Packers and Sims-Walker could be looking at an uphill battle to get back in line for targets. He could eventually benefit from playing opposite Lloyd if Lloyd does enough to command double teams, but for now Sims-Walker should be nowhere near active Fantasy lineups.
News: In a surprise move, the Rams deactivated WR Mike Sims-Walker for Week 6 against the Packers. He had not been on the injury report during the week. In his place, Danario Alexander was moved into the starting lineup at wide receiver. "We weren't trying to send any messages," coach Steve Spagnuolo said after the game. "We just put out the guys out there that we thought would help us win the game."
Analysis: This move was not anticipated and will be a situation to track going forward. While Sims-Walker had not been a very productive option for Fantasy owners, he had been looked at as a top target in the team's pass offense. His absence will likely mean more looks for Brandon Gibson and could make Alexander a sleeper in deeper formats for owners looking for a last-minute replacement option. Reserve Sims-Walker across the board.
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker could be in line for a breakout performance in Week 6 against the Packers. Green Bay ranks 30th in the league against the pass, giving up nearly 300 yards per game, and have allowed an average of 26.6 Fantasy points to opposing wideouts.
Analysis: Sims-Walker injured his shoulder in practice last week but is expected to be fine for Sunday. He has had just one noteworthy performance thus far, when he caught six passes for 92 yards in Week 2, but he could be in for another one with Green Bay's weak pass defense. But since the Packers will probably put a ton of pressure on QB Sam Bradford, consider Sims-Walker as a No. 4 Fantasy WR or flex option for Week 6.
News: Rams DB Bradley Fletcher hurt his knee in practice on Wednesday during a one-on-one drill. He got tied up with WR Mike Sims-Walker on the play, with Sims-Walker also hurting his shoulder on the play. Coach Steve Spagnuolo indicated that Sims-Walker's injury was not considered serious.
Analysis: The good news is that the Rams will be on a bye in Week 5, so Sims-Walker should have more time to recover prior to his team's next game in Week 6 against the Packers. Sims-Walker was targeted six times by QB Sam Bradford in the Week 4 loss against Washington. He caught one pass. The Rams should be able to pass the ball against the Packers, but Sims-Walker is not going to be a great option for that game, for Fantasy purposes.
News: Rams receiver Mike Sims-Walker was targeted six times by QB Sam Bradford in the Week 4 loss against Washington. Sims-Walker could only come down with one catch for 6 yards, however.
Analysis: Sims-Walker didn't even have a touch of the football at the half in the Week 4 loss to Washington. The Rams passing game has been almost non-existent as Bradford has just three passing touchdowns all season long. Sims-Walker might be the best receiving option on the team, but it barely matters as he's still mostly not a recommended Fantasy start. The Rams are on bye in Week 5 and return Week 6 at Green Bay. The Rams should be able to pass the ball against the Packers, but Sims-Walker is not going to be a great option for that game.
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker heads into Week 4 against Washington second on the team with 10 receptions. Sims-Walker has gone for 133 yards in three games with a high of 92 Week 2 at the Giants. That said, Sims-Walker hasn't caught a touchdown this season and had just three grabs for 36 yards against the Ravens last week. Facing the Redskins, Sims-Walker had just one catch for 31 yards against them in a game last season.
Analysis: Sims-Walker struggled last week against Baltimore and the Redskins have been good at limiting opposing wide receivers. Sims-Walker is not playing at a level right now and must prove himself before Fantasy owners can really take stock in him. The Redskins have allowed double digits in Fantasy points to two receivers in Hakeem Nicks and Larry Fitzgerald, but Sims-Walker is obviously nowhere close to their level. Consider Sims-Walker just a flex option, at best, for the Week 4 game.
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker was not much of a factor in Week 3 against the Ravens. Sims-Walker finished with just three receptions for 36 yards in the defeat and was targeted by QB Sam Bradford six times. He averaged 12 yards per reception and had a long of 14 yards in the contest.
Analysis: Sims-Walker played very well last Monday night against the Giants, but struggled in Week 3 against the Ravens. To be fair no one on the Rams played well on Sunday and Bradford had a hard time getting the ball to his receivers, as he was being chased for much of the contest. Sims-Walker has proved in the past that he can be a productive Fantasy option, owners should consider the 27-year-old more of a low-end option until he proves he can consistently contribute. The Rams face the Redskins in Week 4.
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker will be looking to find the end zone during Week 3 against the Ravens. Sims-Walker, who only had one catch during the season opener, hauled in six passes for 92 yards last Monday night against the Giants. The Ravens have struggled to defend the pass thus far, allowing 302 passing yards a game. Baltimore has given up two touchdowns through the air and surrendered an average of 29.0 Fantasy points to opposing WRs through the first two weeks, which ranks 24th overall.
Analysis: After a very quiet Week 1, Sims-Walker turned in a very productive Week 2 performance against the Giants. Most of that can be attributed to the fact that Danny Amendola was inactive with an elbow injury, which led to more playing time for the 27-year-old. With Amendola being considered doubtful for this weekend's match up as well, Sims-Walker will likely once again see an increased role in the offense. The Ravens have given up a ton of yards to opposing WRs so far, so owners should consider Sims-Walker a No. 3 Fantasy WR against Baltimore.
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker saw a team-high 11 targets in Week 2 against the Giants. He caught six of those passes for 92 yards in the 28-16 loss. Sims-Walker had a long reception of 33 yards and averaged 15.3 yards per catch. He finished second on St. Louis in receiving behind Danario Alexander (three catches, 122 yards).
Analysis: With Danny Amendola (elbow) inactive, Sims-Walker saw a larger role in the offense in Week 2 and came through with some big catches. He proved in Jacksonville that he is a big target that can be productive when given the ball so keep an eye on his progress going forward. The Rams and QB Sam Bradford love to throw the ball around and might have to do so more in Week 3 against the Ravens if Steven Jackson (quad) remains out. Keep an eye on the situation and consider Sims-Walker worth a look in deeper Fantasy formats against Baltimore.
News:Mike Sims-Walker had an underwhelming Rams debut a week ago but he could see an increased role in Week 2 against the Giants with Danny Amendola out due to a dislocated elbow. New York gave up 258 yards through the air in Week 1 and allowed 27 Fantasy points to opposing wideouts. In one career game against the Giants, Sims-Walker caught four passes for 48 yards.
Analysis: Sims-Walker caught just one pass for 5 yards in Week 1 but has a more favorable matchup and a larger role in the offense heading into this Monday. He has shown over the past two seasons that he is a big wideout that can stretch the field, and is also a solid red-zone threat. The Giants got carved up by Rex Grossman and the Redskins a week ago so there's no reason the Rams cannot do the same thing. Consider Sims-Walker a No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 2.
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker caught just one pass for 5 yards in Week 1 against the Eagles, his official debut with St. Louis. He was targeted five times in the game.
Analysis: With Danny Amendola going down with a season-threatening elbow injury in Sunday's game, Sims-Walker could be looking at an increased role going into Week 2 at the Giants and beyond. The pass offense looked pedestrian at best in Week 1 with QB Sam Bradford throwing for just 188 yards in the game. However, Sims-Walker does have enough pedigree to evolve into a primary option. He scored seven touchdowns each of the last two seasons with the Jaguars and is well worth stashing among your reserves.
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker will face an Eagles defense in Week 1 of the regular season that ranked 14th in the NFL against the pass last season. Thanks to the additions of Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in the offseason, they are expected to be a much improved defensive unit in that regard. Sims-Walker is currently listed behind Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson on the depth chart.
Analysis: Sims-Walker was signed by St. Louis as a free agent after the lockout ended and reportedly developed a good relationship with QB Sam Bradford during the preseason. He caught just two passes in the preseason, however, and will have to establish himself in his new surroundings before he can be trusted in Fantasy. He scored seven touchdowns each of the last two seasons with the Jaguars and is well worth stashing among your reserves.
News:Mike Sims-Walker was signed by St. Louis as a free agent last month and has quickly moved toward the top of the crowded mix at wide receiver. Though his preseason stats aren't overly impressive (two catches for 32 yards and a touchdown), Sims-Walker has built up a rapport with quarterback Sam Bradford. After a two-hour practice on Monday, Sims-Walker stayed on the field to catch more passes from Bradford, a common occurrence during training camp. "The quarterback is comfortable with him and I think that's important for a wide receiver," St. Louis coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "He's really grasped the playbook."
Analysis: While it seems like Sims-Walker could be a good Fantasy option, some things stand out to us as negatives. One: If he's so good, how come the wide receiver-less Jaguars let him walk away? Two: If he's so good, how come he couldn't beat press coverage last year? These issues are big red flags to us, so we wouldn't risk anything more than a late-round pick on Sims-Walker because we can't ignore his touchdown production over the last two seasons (seven scores each year).
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker, who was signed in late July, was in the starting lineup opposite Brandon Gibson in Friday's game against the Chiefs. He was only targeted twice with the first-team offense while they were on the field in the first half, but he hauled in one of passes on a play-action play from Sam Bradford for a 6-yard score.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has the chance to be the No. 1 WR in St. Louis, and he looked that way in a small sample size on Friday. The team's trio on the outside seems to be he and Gibson as the starters, with the reliable Danny Amendola in the slot. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the situation going forward, though Sims-Walker is arguably the biggest risk of the bunch with his up-and-down play. Consider the UCF product to be a late-round Fantasy pick in standard formats on Draft Day for now.
News: Rams QB Sam Bradford feels as though he is starting to build rapport WR Mike Sims-Walker, who was signed in late July. Its been great working with him, especially this week when hes been healthy," Bradford said. "Hes had two really good practices. It seems like were starting to become more on the same page.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has been hobbled by a groin injury in camp, but it seems he is finally getting back to 100 percent and in a rhythm. The Rams need some playmakers at wide receiver and are counting on MSW to provide a lift in the passing game. MSW was a No. 1 receiver in Jacksonville, so he has the potential to play the part with St. Louis. Conservatively, however, MSW needs to be considered a late-round Fantasy pick in standard formats on Draft Day.
News: New St. Louis WR Mike Sims-Walker hauled in one pass for 26 yards during his second preseason game Saturday against Tennessee. Sims-Walker, who left the Rams' exhibition opener with a groin injury, was targeted three times. One of Sam Bradford's passes thrown in his direction was intercepted by Alterraun Verner on double coverage.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has been limited at practice during his first season with St. Louis as he tries to learn a new system after spending three years with Jacksonville. Ive got some rust to knock off still," he said. "I havent practiced much and its kind of aggravating not being able to do what I want, but it was good to ... catch a ball or two and get your feet wet. He's expected to be prepared for the start of the regular season and Fantasy owners should consider him a worthwhile selection in the later rounds of drafts as he works with receiving guru Josh McDaniels, the Rams' offensive coordinator.
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker (groin) practiced again Thursday but remained limited. We told him lets not go out and re-injure the thing, coach Steve Spagnuolo said. We want to try to get him to the game (on Saturday against the Titans).
Analysis: It sounds as though this is just one of those training camp injuries that the team doesn't want to risk further damage, and it's not threatening MSW's status for the season opener at this time. The Rams are counting on Sims-Walker to be a key target for QB Sam Bradford in 2011. Sims-Walker has potential heading into a new pass-first offense led by offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, but he remains a late-round Fantasy pick on Draft Day.
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker, who injured his groin in Saturday's preseason game against the Colts, saw limited time in practice Wednesday. Coach Steve Spagnuolo wasn't sure if he'd play in the next preseason game, though he all but ruled him out earlier in the week. Sims-Walker was acquired by St. Louis early in free agency.
Analysis: Sims-Walker should be good to go for the regular season, but the situation should be monitored going forward. The fact that he is back on the field is a good sign, as it seems he will be back in game action sooner than later. Sims-Walker has some solid potential value heading into a new pass-first offense commanded by Josh McDaniels, but the injury is hurting his progress. Still, he is worth picking up with a late-round selection on Draft Day.
News: Rams WR Mike Sims-Walker, who injured his groin in Saturday's preseason game against the Colts, is not expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Titans. Hes a little sore, coach Steve Spagnuolo said regarding Sims-Walker, reports the team's official website. Hes weak in the groin. They didnt do an MRI right now, theyre just going to wait. If it doesnt improve theyll take a picture of it. Hes doubtful going into this particular weeks game. Sims-Walker was acquired by St. Louis early in free agency.
Analysis: Sims-Walker should not miss much regular season time with the issue, if any, but the lack of game time in an already condensed preseason camp doesn't help his value on a new team. The up-and-down wideout still figures to be the No. 1 WR on the outside fro now, and we still like him as a No. 4 Fantasy WR with upside if he can acclimate to the midwest. Barring the injury worsening, select Sims-Walker with a late-round pick on Draft Day.
News: The Rams announced after Saturday's preseason game against the Colts that WR Mike Sims-Walker injured his groin and did not return. Sims-Walker's injury is not expected to be serious but will be monitored. Sims-Walker did not have a catch in his first game with the Rams.
Analysis: Sims-Walker is expected to be fine once the season starts, but continue to monitor his progress. He has some sleeper potential with the Rams since he will be playing with an improved QB in Sam Bradford and in a better offensive system under coordinator Josh McDaniels. We like Sims-Walker as a No. 4 Fantasy WR with upside. He's worth drafting with a late-round pick.
News: Free agent receiver Mike Sims-Walker indicated where he may have singed on Friday on his Twitter account: "Last nite in orlando, got a early morning flight to catch to the midwest.... Yea its official I'm a RAM!!!!!!" ESPN confirmed the signing shortly after, reporting that he reached an agreement on a one-year deal.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has shopped himself around in the offseason -- linking himself most recently to the Bears, but the Rams are in perhaps more of a need for help on the outside. Fantasy owners should not jump the gun on him early even though he has a shot at being the team's No. 1 option, considering he has to learn a new offense. We still see Sims-Walker as a No. 3 WR option at best, worth selecting with a late-round pick on Draft Day. He had just 43 catches for 562 yards and seven touchdowns in 2010.
News: The Chicago Tribune reports free agent receiver Mike Sims-Walker indicated Monday that he wouldn't mind signing with the Bears. "Chicago would be one of the ideal spots for me," Sims-Walker said. "With the offensive coordinator (Mike Martz) and Jay Cutler, the speedy receivers, the monster defense, and Matt Forte in the backfield, I think I can be the missing piece. They are close, one or two pieces away. Hopefully I can put them over the top." Sims-Walker feels he would be a good fit for Martz's offense. "I think any receiver, if he has the talent and the skill-set, can do whatever he wants, he said. "Theres no such thing as a big or small receiver. Like Andre Johnson (Texans). He does it all. He would fit in any offense, no matter what. And I try to model myself after him.
Analysis: Sims-Walker's interest in Chicago also comes from fellow UCF alum Brandon Marshall, who gave Bears QB Jay Cutler a ringing endorsement. "Brandon had nothing but great things to say about Cutler, Sims-Walker said. "Just watching (Cutler), you can tell he has that swagger. Hes not scared to make a mistake. He just takes chances and lets it rip. A move to Chicago would be an interesting move for Sims-Walker, who could be a reliable threat in the Bears' passing game. As of now, MSW is lining up to be a late-round Fantasy pick. But if he lands in an ideal situation, then he could rocket up the draft board. Stay tuned.
News: The Florida Times-Union reports that WR Mike Sims-Walker, who was told in March by the Jaguars that they won't re-sign him, still maintains he would like to play for the Dolphins in 2011. He and his best friend, Dolphins WR Brandon Marshal,l have discussed reuniting. The two of them played together at UCF. "We would love that," Sims-Walker said. "Me and him, our relationship on the field and off the field. We make each other better. We compete with each other so much that we're going to bring the best out of each other every single minute. That will be the best thing for the whole team."
Analysis: Sims-Walker played four seasons for the Jaguars after they drafted him in the third round in 2007. He spent his first season on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in the preseason. Sims-Walker played in nine games in 2008 and had a breakout season in 2009 when he caught 63 passes for 869 yards. Last season, Sims-Walker's production tapered off a bit as he became a bigger focus for defenses. He was also limited late in the year by a high ankle sprain. By the end of the 2010 season Jason Hill started in his place. GM Gene Smith told Sims-Walker the team was moving on just after the Jaguars re-signed Jason Hill to a two-year deal. We still think Sims-Walker can offer something to an NFL team and Fantasy owners. But he should be considered a No. 4 Fantasy option coming into the year. He is only worth drafting with a late-round pick in standard formats.
News: Expected to be a free agent at the start of the NFL offseason, WR Mike Sims-Walker hinted on Twitter that he'd like to play for the Dolphins. Responding to a Tweet from friend and fellow UCF alum Brandon Marshall about where he's "taking (his) talents," Sims-Walker wrote "I'm trying to pull a LeBron *hint*."
Analysis: Sims-Walker struggled after a breakout 2009, posting 43 catches for 562 yards and seven scores. While a reunion with Marshall in Miami might be fun for the two of them, the Dolphins seem prepared at receiver and might not chase Sims-Walker. Potential suitors for the tall receiver might include Carolina, Chicago, Cleveland, Kansas City, Seattle, St. Louis and Washington. But because he struggles against press coverage, he'll need coaching to get back to his '09 form. He has the potential to be a No. 3 Fantasy WR, but go into the season with Sims-Walker as a No. 4 option. He's worth drafting with a late-round pick.
News: Through his Twitter page, WR Mike Sims-Walker said the Jags will not re-sign him for 2011. The move wasn't unexpected. The team thought he was good against zone but not against man coverages and the Jags thought he was not enough of a team player at times. Said Sims-Walker: "It's official. I personally wanna thank all the fans who stuck with me in Jacksonville for the last four years but sorry to say my time is up." Sims-Walker had told the Florida Times-Union that he hoped to return to Jacksonville.
Analysis: Sims-Walker could still return to the Jags, but that move appears unlikely now. Continue to monitor where he ends up, and hopefully he can find a landing spot that will help his Fantasy value. He has the potential to be a No. 3 Fantasy WR, but go into the season with Sims-Walker as a No. 4 option. He's worth drafting with a late-round pick.
News: The Florida Times-Union reports that Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker is spending his offseason trying to get down to his old college weight. "I feel like at 200 to 205, I'm much more explosive and more faster," said Sims-Walker. "Just more of a stretch the field guy that I know I have the capability to be. I just didn't feel like I was as explosive as I want to be." In 2010, Sims-Walker suffered a decrease in production a year after his breakout season, and he had a few notable drops. He also suffered a high ankle sprain and said his decreased usage late in the season had to do with his still recovering from that. An impending free agent, Sims-Walker said he wants to return to the Jaguars in 2011. "I hope we get the CBA done first and I hope my contract gets done, even if it's in Jacksonville or somewhere else," he said. "Of course you always want to see what your value is, of course I'd like to know what my value is out there, but I'd still like to play in Jacksonville."
Analysis: Sims-Walker said his ankle was at 70 percent last year, but he said it's better now. He also described himself as a Pro Bowl receiver, and he expects to play better in 2011. We think he's closer to his 2009 form than what he showed last season, but continue to monitor what develops with his contract. Plan on drafting Sims-Walker as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR, and he should only be selected with a late-round pick in the majority of leagues.
News: After a several week break, WR Mike Sims-Walker will be getting back to work. He didnt take a break last year and called that a mistake. Sims-Walker said intends to play next season at 205 pounds where he feels "most explosive.'' He played 2010 at about 214 pounds.
Analysis: Sims-Walkers return to Jacksonville is considered 50-50; it is believed that the team sees him as somewhat selfish, adequate against zone defenses but struggling in man coverage. Speculation is that the Jags will make a token offer to the free agent and if not accepted encourage him to test the market. Thing is, Jacksonville's receiving corps is weak as it is and would actually be worse without Sims-Walker (or a good replacement for him). Sims-Walker could still end up starting somewhere, but he's nothing more than a candidate to serve as a No. 3 Fantasy WR. Think middle- to late-round pick on Sims-Walker.

Analysis: Sims-Walker had a very disappointing season by most accounts. While he did match his touchdown total from a year ago with seven, he came nowhere close to matching the 63 receptions and 863 receiving yards he racked up back in 2009 (he had 43 catches for 562 yards in 2010). Sims-Walker could still end up starting somewhere, but he's nothing more than a candidate to serve as a No. 3 Fantasy WR. Think middle- to late-round pick on Sims-Walker.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker did not see much of the field in Week 17 against the Jaguars. Sims-Walker, who was dealing with an ankle injury all week leading up to Sunday's game, was targeted just once in the 34-17 loss and did not have a reception in the contest. It is the third time this season Sims-Walker has been held without a catch.
Analysis: Sims-Walker had a very disappointing season by most accounts. While he did match his touchdown total from a year ago with seven, he came nowhere close to matching the 63 receptions and 863 receiving yards he racked up back in 2009. While it's no secret the Jaguars are considered a running team, many thought the former UCF Knight would be poised for a breakout season. Fantasy owners should consider him a No. 3 Fantasy WR heading into 2011, who is worth drafting in the middle rounds.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker has officially been ruled active for Week 17 against the Texans. Sims-Walker was listed as probable on the injury report this week with an ankle injury.
Analysis: Sims-Walker will play on Sunday, but will be catching passes from Trent Edwards instead of David Garrard. The Texans have struggled to defend the pass this season, so Sims-Walker should see plenty off passes in his direction. However, based on his track record, consider him a low-end Fantasy start against Houston.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) has been declared probable for Week 17 at Houston. Sims-Walker had three catches for 26 yards in his first game against Houston in Week 10.
Analysis: The Jaguars still have a mathematical shot at making the playoffs, but they might be down some of their top offensive players for Week 17. QB David Garrard has already been ruled out due to injury, so he will be replaced by Trent Edwards. RB Maurice Jones-Drew is doubtful with a knee injury. And Sims-Walker is still hobbled by a lingering ankle issue. He hasn't had great receiving numbers since returning Week 14, but he does have three touchdowns. Sims-Walker is a low-end Fantasy start for Week 17.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) was able to practice on a limited basis Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday. Jacksonville plays in Week 17 at the Texans. Sims-Walker has missed practice time the last few weeks, but he hasn't sat out since Week 13. Sims-Walker had three catches for 26 yards in his first game against Houston in Week 10.

News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) did not practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 17 against the Texans. Sims-Walker has missed practice time the last few weeks, but he hasn't sat out since Week 13. Sims-Walker had three catches for 26 yards in his first game against Houston in Week 10.

News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker was not a major weapon in the Week 16 overtime loss to the Redskins. Coming off an ankle injury, Sims-Walker was active but he did not start in the game as Hill got the nod. He was targeted just once in the contest and he made the reception for 31 yards. It was his only catch of the game. Meanwhile, Hill caught four passes for 77 yards and was targeted nine times.
Analysis: The leading Jacksonville receiver on the season struggled in Week 16 as he was iffy for the game with an ankle injury and has been banged up. Still, he had caught three touchdown passes in his previous two games. He continues to be David Garrard's favorite option in the passing game and we expect big things in Week 17 at Houston. The Texans give up huge chunks of yardage and Sims-Walker should be considered a solid No. 2 Fantasy play in that game if he's healthy by then.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) is active for the Week 16 game against Washington. Sims-Walker was listed as questionable entering Sunday but was not listed among the team's inactives. That said, Sims-Walker was not expected to start the game.
Analysis: Sims-Walker is a solid No. 3 Fantasy WR, and he has three touchdowns in his past two games. But with this news of him not starting on Sunday, Fantasy owners should try to avoid him in all but the deepest of Fantasy leagues. That's a shame, as Washington is No. 31 in pass defense, and the Jaguars should be able to move the ball through the air against the Redskins.
News: The Florida Times-Union reports that Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) returned to practice on a limited basis Friday but won't start in Week 16 against the Redskins. Jason Hill will start in Sims-Walker's place.
Analysis: When healthy, Sims-Walker is a solid No.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker was unable to practice Thursday, which is the second day in a row he has been out with his injured ankle. Sims-Walker was able to play in Week 15 at Indianapolis with his ankle injury and scored two touchdowns, but he might have suffered a setback heading into Week 16 against Washington or he could just be using the extra rest.
Analysis: Continue to monitor Sims-Walker's status and hope he is OK. When healthy, he is a solid No. 3 Fantasy WR, and he has three touchdowns in his past two games. Washington is No. 31 in pass defense, and the Jaguars should be able to move the ball through the air against the Redskins, making Sims-Walker a quality Fantasy option if he's able to play as expected.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker let his injured ankle heal a little Wednesday as he did not take part in practice. Jacksonville hosts Washington in Week 16.
Analysis: Sims-Walker injured his ankle this past Sunday against the Colts, but returned to catch a pair of touchdowns in the key AFC South loss. If he's healthy in Week 16, MSW will face a poor Washington defense that he should be able to exploit. Consider him a solid start in Fantasy formats with 12 teams or more as a No. 3 Fantasy WR.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker threatened another injury in the Week 15 loss in Indianapolis. Sims-Walker hurt his ankle early in the game but eventually came back. It was a good thing he did. Following the injury, Sims-Walker returned to catch two touchdown passes. He caught a David Garrard 6-yard TD pass in the third quarter and got in from 1 yard out on another Garrard pass in the fourth quarter. He finished with four catches for 42 yards in the game and was targeted eight times by Garrard.
Analysis: Sims-Walker only has six catches for 65 yards in his last two games, but he's also got three touchdowns over that span. He's healthy entering Week 16 against Washington. The Redskins pass defense has been questionable all year and Sims-Walker should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy WR for that game.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker might be healthier than he's been in a while for Week 15 at Indianapolis. Having dealt with an ankle sprain for more than a few weeks now, Sims-Walker was able to get into the end zone last week against Oakland. He had two catches for 23 yards in that game.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has been inactive twice in the Jaguars' last five games and hasn't had a good game since making eight catches for 153 yards and a score Week 8 in Dallas. He was having a good season to that point. Still, he didn't make a single catch Week 4 against Indianapolis and he was healthy for that game. The Colts are allowing the fifth-fewest average Fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Instead giving up big yardage to opposing tight ends, the Colts haven't allowed a WR to score since Week 11. Sims-Walker hasn't proven himself in some time and is just a No. 3 Fantasy WR, at best, for Week 15.
News: Jags WR Mike Sims-Walker only caught two passes for 23 yards on Sunday, but he made one of them count when he reeled in a 10-yard pass on a fade route for a third quarter score. He was targeted four times in the game.
Analysis: Sims-Walker didn't look good other than this touchdown catch as it appears he is still bothered by an ankle sprain suffered weeks ago. With a matchup against the Colts looming, think of him as no better than a No. 3 Fantasy WR since he did go catchless in his Week 4 home game against Indianapolis.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker, who missed two of the last three games with a sprained ankle, is active for Week 14 against the Raiders. He was able to return to full practice on Thursday and pronounced himself ready to go later that day.
Analysis: Even when healthy, Sims-Walker hasn't been so productive lately, losing some looks to Mike Thomas. He's likely to draw DB Nmandi Asomugha in coverage on Sunday, making him even less advisable in Fantasy. Coming off injury, you should think of him as no more than a No. 3 Fantasy WR.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker shouted to reporters Thursday that he was "ready to go" for Week 14 against the Raiders. On Friday, the Jaguars concurred as Sims-Walker is listed as probable despite a lingering ankle injury. Sims-Walker will face a defense that shut out Chargers receivers last week but gave up five touchdowns to wideouts in the three weeks prior.
Analysis: While MSW is psyched up to get back onto the field in Week 14, we are a little concerned that he might not be 100 percent the rest of the way. Sims-Walker is likely to draw CB Nmandi Asomugha in Week 14 and the Raiders are a pretty good pass defense. Consider MSW an injury-risk Fantasy start for Week 14.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) practiced in full Thursday after being limited on Wednesday by his injury. "Mark it down, I'm full go today,'' Sims-Walker shouted to reporters. He has missed two games with what was believed to be a high-ankle sprain. Jacksonville hosts the Raiders in Week 14, a defense that shut out Chargers receivers last week but gave up five touchdowns to wideouts in the three weeks prior.
Analysis: As long as MSW has a good week of practice and doesn't suffer a setback, then he has a chance to play Week 14 against the Raiders. He'd be hard to trust in Fantasy play this week since it would be his first game back from the injury, but if you're thin at talent in deeper leagues he'd suffice.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 14 against the Raiders. Sims-Walker played on his high ankle sprain two weeks ago against the Giants before he sat out Week 13 against the Titans. "I'm a competitor," Sims-Walker said. "I'm a hard head. I want to go out there and fight with my teammates. Got time to stay off it (Week 13) and not rush it."
Analysis: As long as MSW has a good week of practice and doesn't suffer a setback, then he has a chance to play Week 14 against the Raiders. Although, he needs to be as close to 100 percent as possible going up against one of the best pass defenses in the NFL. MSW would be at best a No. 3 Fantasy WR or flex option for Week 14.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker, who was ruled out earlier this week with an ankle injury, was officially listed as inactive for Week 13 at Tennessee on Sunday morning.
Analysis: MSW has just a pair of 100-yard games in 2010, but he is still by far the Jaguars best receiver when healthy. Stash him away in most formats for now, but it will be tough to trust him in the playoffs coming off this problem unless you're other options are way down on the value chart. When healthy, Sims-Walker is a No. 3 Fantasy WR.
News: On Friday, the Jaguars ruled WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) out for Week 13 at Tennessee. Sims-Walker tried to practice Thursday, but his ankle is just clearly bothering him too much. "I probably can (play), but they know and I know that I'm not normal," Sims-Walker said. "I'm not me. I'm not moving like I was earlier. I'm not running the same kind of routes I was. Even though I'm trying my hardest to show that I'm not in pain, I'm in pain and it shows. It's hard to hide it."
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday after sitting out a day earlier. Jacksonville visits Tennessee in Week 13.
Analysis: Sims-Walker says he didn't do any more damage to his ankle by playing against the Giants last week and plans to be ready to go against the Titans on Sunday. Although, he didn't look very explosive against the Giants, so the more this injury lingers it is a worrisome issue. He has just a pair of 100-yard games in 2010, but Sims-Walker is still by far the Jaguars best receiver when healthy. Consider him a No. 3 Fantasy WR or flex option for Week 13. Sims-Walker was held to two catches for 16 yards against Tennessee in Week 6.
News: Jaguars receiver Mike Sims-Walker expects to play at Tennessee in Week 13 despite missing practice Wednesday because of a high ankle sprain. Sims-Walker is wearing an air cast on his right ankle, but insists it's only precautionary to help prevent swelling. He injured his ankle Nov. 14 against Houston and was inactive the following week against Cleveland. He was limited in practice last week, but started against the New York Giants in Week 12. He caught four passes for 48 yards, giving him 36 receptions for 466 yards this season.

Although, he didn't look very explosive against the Giants, so the more this injury lingers it is a worrisome issue. Sims-Walker was held to two catches for 16 yards against Tennessee in Week 6.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker returned to the lineup in Week 12 against the Giants after missing one game with an ankle injury. He ended up leading the Jaguars with 48 receiving yards and 10 targets. He had four catches, but Sims-Walker let two touchdowns slip through his hands. Late in the second quarter, Sims-Walker had a 15-yard touchdown pass graze off his fingers. Later in the same drive, he dropped a sure 5-yard touchdown as Kenny Phillips stripped the catch as Sims-Walker went to the ground.
Analysis: While Sims-Walker took to the field in Week 12, he definitely looked as though he wasn't as explosive as prior to suffering his injury in Week 10. Ankle injuries can be problematic, so it wouldn't surprise us if MSW gets some rest during the practice week the rest of the season. He has just a pair of 100-yard games in 2010, but Sims-Walker is still by far the Jaguars best receiver when healthy. Consider him a No. 3 Fantasy WR or flex option for Week 13 when the Jaguars play the Titans. Sims-Walker was held to two catches for 16 yards against Tennessee in Week 6.
News: As expected, Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker is active for Week 12 at the Giants even though he's dealing with a high ankle sprain. He was listed as questionable coming into the game.
Analysis: Sims-Walker's availability for Sunday's game is a bit of a surprise considering most players need several weeks to recover from a high ankle sprain. You have to think the injury will limit his productivity, so start him at your own risk in Fantasy. With the recent emergence of Mike Thomas, Sims-Walker isn't quite the go-to guy he used to be anyway.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker, who was limited in practice this week by an ankle injury, will play Week 12 at the Giants, CBS reports.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has a high ankle sprain, so his availability for Sunday's game is a bit of a surprise. You have to think the injury will limit his productivity, so start him at your own risk in Fantasy. With the recent emergence of Mike Thomas, Sims-Walker isn't quite the go-to guy he used to be.
News:Mike Sims-Walker got back on the practice field a second straight day Friday and was again limited. The team has made him questionable for Week 12 at the Giants, but The Associated Press reports that he should be able to play barring any setbacks. Sims-Walker has been dealing with a high-ankle sprain that kept him sidelined last week. If he plays, he'd go up against the Giants' third-ranked pass defense that has given up 11 touchdowns to wide receivers on the season. "We'll see how he responds in the next 48 hours," Del Rio said Friday.
Analysis: If Sims-Walker is truly dealing with a high-ankle sprain, then we'd be surprised if he was effective against the G-Men. Forget about the tough matchup, typically players who rush back from high-ankle sprains aren't very productive because they can't move well. For that reason alone we can't recommend Sims-Walker as anything more than a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR. We'll be first to know whether or not he'll be active this Sunday on Fantasy Football Today, 11 a.m. ET here on CBSSports.com.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker returned to practice on Thursday, according to the Florida Times-Union, but it is not known how much work he did and whether or not he'll play at the Giants in Week 12. Sims-Walker is dealing with a high-ankle sprain.
Analysis: We'd be surprised of Sims-Walker plays on Sunday given the severity of his injury. He's already missed one game with it and could see another week go by without him suiting up. We'll keep you posted on MSW, who would be a borderline No. 2/No. 3 Fantasy WR if he were to play.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) did not practice Wednesday. Jacksonville visit the Giants in Week 12. Coach Jack Del Rio says he's not going to push Sims-Walker. "Hes got a pretty good little sprain in there and until it settles down and he can go and help us, were not going to force that,'' Del Rio said.
Analysis: We'll keep an eye on Sims-Walker's status the rest of this week and let you know the latest, but expect to be without him at this point. Last week we saw tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Zach Miller and wideout Mike Thomas step up in place of Sims-Walker in the Jacksonville passing offense, but that's really about it. Get another receiver ready to slide into lineups for Week 12 -- one possibility who will be on waivers is Giants WR Derek Hagan, who is expected to start in place of the injured Hakeem Nicks. Others possible replacements include Nate Washington, Emmanuel Sanders and Brandon Stokley.
News: The Florida Times-Union reported Monday that WR Mike Sims-Walker is suffering from a high-ankle sprain, an injury that might keep him out of Week 12 at the Giants. MSW was ordered by a doctor to watch the Jags' game vs. the Browns from a suite on Sunday to keep off his feet. Typically the timetable to return from the injury is at least two weeks.

News: Jaguars wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker, who missed practice all week, is inactive for the team's Week 11 game against Cleveland, according to The Associated Press. Sims-Walkers was initially listed as doubtful on the injury report.
Analysis: It didn't look promising for the Jaguars' leading receiver after he missed practice all week and it appears the ankle injury he sustained in Week 10 is still affecting him. Give a slight boost to Jacksonville receiver Mike Thomas, tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Zack Miller and perhaps a few more targets for dual-threat Maurice Jones-Drew. We'll continue to monitor his progress for the Jaguars' Week 12 game at the Giants.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker is officially listed as doubtful for Week 11 vs. Cleveland as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. He sprained his right ankle against Houston last week and missed two days of practice this week. The team listed Sims-Walker as probable on its initial injury report Friday, but later corrected the mistake.
Analysis: Sims-Walker would have a favorable matchup if he plays vs. the Browns in Week 11 -- Cleveland has allowed an average of 24.2 Fantasy points per game to wideouts -- but with a swollen ankle that clearly limited him against the Texans last week, he might not be an optimal play if he somehow does manage to be active. Check back on MSW's status on Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. ET, but you will want to consider other options before making him a part of your lineup.
News:Mike Sims-Walker took part in practice on Friday after missing the previous two days, according to the Florida Times-Union. The team typically takes it easy on Friday, so it remains to be seen how much work Sims-Walker does and how he'll be listed on Friday evening's injury report.
Analysis: Sims-Walker would have a favorable matchup if he plays vs. the Browns in Week 11 -- Cleveland has allowed an average of 24.2 Fantasy points per game to wideouts -- but with a swollen ankle that clearly limited him against the Texans last week, he might not be an optimal play. We'll keep you posted on MSW, but consider other options before making him a part of your active lineup.
News: Jaguars receiver Mike Sims-Walker did not practice again Thursday, the second consecutive day he has sat out while recovering from an ankle injury he sustained in Jacksonvilles Week 10 game against Houston. Sims-Walker finished the game against the Texans with only three catches. The Florida Times-Union reported Thursday that Sims-Walker attended practice but did not have his helmet on during drills. The Jaguars host the Browns in Week 11 on Sunday.
Analysis: This is certainly a bad sign for Sims-Walker owners who were hoping he would rebound from a disappointing Fantasy performance against the Texans woeful pass defense in Week 10. Cleveland has also struggled defending wide receivers this season, allowing an average of 24.2 Fantasy points per game to wideouts. Keep a close eye on Fridays practice report because if Sims-Walker misses time again, his chances of playing in Week 11 are doubtful. If he is healthy enough to play, relegate him as a borderline No. 2 Fantasy WR or a flex option.
News: WR Mike Sims-Walker sat out of Jaguars practice Wednesday with his right ankle in a splint, according to The Associated Press. Sims-Walker had previous Tweeted a photo of his swollen ankle after the team's Week 10 game vs. Houston, an injury likely aggravated by playing last Sunday. As of now he's considered questionable for Week 11 vs. the Browns.
Analysis: Sims-Walker gives the Jaguars a big presence in the passing game, so he's really important to what they do on offense. The Browns' pass defense is among the worst in the league, allowing 12 touchdowns to wide receivers on the year. Sims-Walker would be considered a No. 2 Fantasy WR if he's healthy enough to play -- we'll definitely keep you posted on his status.
News: Jagaurs WR Mike Sims-Walker didn't do much in his team's 31-24 win against the Texans in Week 10. Although Sims-Walker was the intended target on David Garrard's Hail Mary pass at the end of the game, the ball ended up in WR Mike Thomas' hands for the game-winning, 50-yard score. Sims-Walker, who went to the sidelines in the second quarter with a right leg injury before returning a few plays later, finished with three catches for 26 yards. He was targeted four times in the game.
Analysis: It was real disappointing to see Sims-Walker have such a bad game in Week 10, especially since he totaled 153 yards the last time he took the field. The injury didn't have much to do with his bad performance. It was just an off day for Sims-Walker. He is still the Jags' best receiver and will get back to work in Week 11 against the Browns. Consider Sims-Walker a viable No. 2 Fantasy WR.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker returned to the game Week 10 against the Texans after getting his right leg rolled up on by RB Rashad Jennings in the second quarter. Sims-Walker missed just a few plays on the Jaguars' first-touchdown drive before returning on the next drive.
Analysis: MSW is lucky the injury didn't turn into something much worse. Players suffer season-ending injuries in situations like that. MSW remains a viable Fantasy play when healthy.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker had to leave the game in the second quarter Week 10 against the Texans after RB Rashad Jennings rolled up on his right leg during a running play. Sims-Walker was down on the turf for a few minutes being evaluated by the trainers before jogging off under his own power. Sims-Walker had one catch for 11 yards up to that point. His return is questionable.
Analysis: The last thing Sims-Walker needed is an injury, especially after he was coming off a 153-yard outing against the Cowboys. He also came into Week 10 with three touchdowns in his last four games, making him a viable play in Fantasy.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker said he doesnt adjust goals halfway through the season. He remains optimistic about his own performance and the team's. Our best football is ahead of us, he said. Sims-Walker gets a chance to back that statement starting in Week 10 against the Texans. Sims-Walker is also coming off a career-high 153-yard performance in Week 8 against the Cowboys. Sims-Walker aims to score a touchdown in three straight games and four of five in Week 10. He has 12 catches for 139 yards in three career games against Houston. However, he has yet to score against Houston. The Texans have allowed WRs to total 12 touchdowns in 2010, which is tied for second highest in the NFL.
Analysis: The Jaguars, especially QB David Garrard, have a lot of expectations to live up to the rest of the season after their thrashing of the Cowboys in Week 8. However, maybe that was just an aberration seeing how Dallas has looked deflated the last few weeks. Regardless, Sims-Walker is the Jaguars' best receiver and is turning into quite a touchdown threat. That alone keeps him viable as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy WR for Week 10.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker gets back to work in Week 10 against the Texans as Jacksonville comes off its bye.

News: Jaguars receiver Mike Sims-Walker was happy to see David Garrard back throwing him the football in Week 8 at Dallas. The Jaguars stormed the Cowboys on their home turf and came away with a ridiculous 35-17 victory. Sims-Walker was the benefactor of one of Garrard's career-high four touchdown passes as he hauled in a 10-yard TD pass in the first quarter. It was the first first-quarter TD pass for Garrard in his last 23 starts. Sims-Walker finished with a team-high eight catches for a career-high 153 yards and the score.
Analysis: Sims-Walker scored a touchdown for the third time in his last four weeks for the Jaguars but he had just nine catches in his last three games combined before going for eight on Sunday alone. He was targeted a team-high 10 times by Garrard, who clearly favors Sims-Walker in the passing game. He's been a bit erratic this season, but Sims-Walker will be worth starting in all Fantasy leagues the next time he takes the field against Houston. Unfortunately for Fantasy owners, that won't come until Week 10 as the Jaguars are on bye next week.
News: With Todd Bouman quarterbacking the Jaguars Week 7 at Kansas City, receiver Mike Sims-Walker got into the end zone for the third time this season. That said, entering Week 8 at Dallas, Sims-Walker has not topped 46 receiving yards since going for 105 in Week 2. He only has 21 catches on the season and 10 of those came in one game Week 2 at San Diego. Fifteen of his 21 catches have gone for first downs, however, and Sims-Walker is going to get back QB David Garrard against the Cowboys.
Analysis: There is no doubt that Sims-Walker has been a frustrating Fantasy option this season. That said, he's also the best the Jaguars have to offer. The Cowboys have been allowing decent Fantasy numbers to opposing receivers this season. Just last week, both Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith of the Giants went over 100 yards against the Cowboys and combined for three touchdowns. The Cowboys can be thrown upon and that makes Sims-Walker a solid choice as a No. 3 or 4 Fantasy WR.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker continues to be an enigma for Fantasy owners. On Sunday in Week 7 at Kansas City, with backup QB Todd Bouman at the helm in place of the injured David Garrard (concussion), Sims-Walker had three catches for 38 yards and a touchdown, and he was targeted six times. This is now three touchdowns on the road for Sims-Walker this season, and he has scored in consecutive games against the Chiefs going back to their lone meeting in 2009.
Analysis: Sims-Walker had nine Fantasy points, which is a quality stat line, but he remains a difficult WR to predict. He's capable of playing at a high level as we saw last year, but there are times when he tends to disappear from games. Go into Week 8 at Dallas with Sims-Walker as a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR. It's not a great matchup for Sims-Walker, and we don't know who the starting QB is for the Jaguars, but that doesn't necessarily mean Sims-Walker will struggle based on his body of work so far in 2010.
News: As expected, Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (shoulder) was listed as active for Week 7 at Kansas City. Todd Bouman was listed as the team's starter at quarterback with David Garrard injured.
Analysis: Sims-Walker did have a good game against the Chiefs last year with six catches for 147 yards and a touchdown and has both of his touchdowns on the road this season, but with the quarterback scenario and his overall body of work, you can likely find a better starting option this week. We consider Sims-Walker a No. 3 Fantasy WR at best this week.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (shoulder) returned to practice in full Thursday, and he should be fine to play at Kansas City in Week 7. His quarterback situation, however, isn't as clear with Todd Bouman expected to start in place of the injured David Garrard (concussion) or Trent Edwards (thumb). That makes Sims-Walker a risky Fantasy option against the Chiefs, who have done well against opposing wide receivers this season. The Chiefs have only allowed three wide receivers to reach double digits in Fantasy points, and Sims-Walker has been inconsistent this year.

We consider Sims-Walker a No. 3 Fantasy WR at best this week.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (shoulder) was limited in practice on Wednesday, but the team has expressed no real concern yet about his Week 7 status. The Jaguars will play the Chiefs. What's more alarming is that Jacksonville is having depth issues at quarterback with David Garrard (concussion) and Trent Edwards (thumb) injured. Todd Bouman and Patrick Ramsey were signed in case Garrard and Edwards are not ready.
Analysis: This QB quandary isn't helping an already tough situation for Sims-Walker, who is struggling this season. He has two touchdowns, but his only impressive performance came in Week 2 when he broke 100 yards. The Chiefs have a shaky pass defense, but with the Jags' QB situation a mess, it's tough to trust Sims-Walker as anything more than a low-end Fantasy start.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker wasn't much of a factor in Week 6 against the Titans. He was targeted eight times in the 30-3 loss, but finished with just two catches for 16 yards. Sims-Walker had a long of 10 yards and did not score in the contest.
Analysis: The Titans did a good job of shadowing Sims-Walker on Monday night. He faced constant double coverage throughout the game and had a hard time getting open. Sims-Walker has 18 receptions for 201 yards and two scores on the season, but has been very inconsistent thus far. He also could be without starting QB David Garrard when Jacksonville heads to Kansas City in Week 7. Garrard suffered a concussion in the first half, which means Trent Edwards might get the start on Sunday. Consider him a low-end No. 3 receiver in Week 7 against the Chiefs.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker, who has held catchless twice season, said he did nothing different in Week 5 against the Bills, when he had receptions and a touchdown. "I took the same approach," Sims-Walker said. "You stay patient and let it come to you and dont get too overwhelmed." In three career games against the Titans, Sims-Walker has averaged 38.2 yards receiving per contest and scored two touchdowns. The Titans have allowed an average of 24.40 Fantasy points over the first five weeks of the season.
Analysis: Sims-Walker caught four passes for 46 yards against Buffalo, including a 7-yarder for a touchdown. However, he has just 16 catches for 185 yards with two touchdowns on the season and has been losing targets to Marcedes Lewis and Mike Thomas. While he does seem to have a favorable matchup against the Titans in Week 6, Fantasy owners should view him as a low-end No. 4 Fantasy WR against Tennessee.
News: Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio called trade reports surrounding receiver Mike Sims-Walker "garbage." Sims-Walker has 16 receptions for 185 yards and two touchdowns this season. He expressed frustration last week after having no catches for the second time in four games, but made it clear he wasn't going to complain about it and that he just wanted a bigger role in the offense. Del Rio lashed out Monday at reports that suggested Sims-Walker is on the trading block. "I actually called out one of the people that was involved in some of that being spread because that's garbage," Del Rio said. "False, not credible and it's disappointing to see stuff like that just go out be thrown out there haphazardly without anybody checking any sources."
Analysis: Sims-Walker caught four passes for 46 yards against Buffalo, including a 7-yarder for a touchdown that put the Jaguars ahead for good in the 36-26 victory. Sims-Walker has a decent matchup vs. the Titans in Week 6 and could be considered a No. 3 option for the game. Don't expect to see him out of a Jaguars jersey.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker caught four passes for 46 yards in Week 5 at Buffalo, including his second touchdown catch of the season. Sims-Walker scored on a 7-yard touchdown pass isn the third quarter. He was targeted five times in a game in which QB David Garrard threw the ball just 20 times.
Analysis: Sims-Walker was the most productive wide receiver for the Jaguars, but that isn't saying much. The Jags continue to play a very safe style in the passing game, relying upon Maurice Jones-Drew heavily in the running game and that leads to very few passes thrown and even less being thrown down field. As a result, Sims-Walker has just six catches in his last three games and has not come anywhere close to repeating the production he enjoyed in Week 2 with 10 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers. Continue to view Sims-Walker as little more than a bye-week or injury replacement option for Week 6 against Tennessee.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker has been hard to predict this season and Fantasy owners cannot be satisfied. Sims-Walker went without a catch Week 4 for the second time in four games this season. In fact, outside of a 10-catch, 105-yard performance with a touchdown Week 2 in San Diego, the receiver has just two catches for 34 yards on the year. "You always want to be involved in the offense, especially when you think of yourself as a No. 1 receiver in this league," Sims-Walker said Wednesday. "You work hard at it to be that guy and you go out there and you really don't get the opportunity to show it." Jacksonville plays in Buffalo Week 5 and the last time Sims-Walker played the Bills, last season, he caught eight passes for 91 yards and a touchdown. "I know I can play. I know I get open. I know I can catch the ball pretty good and make plays. I'd like to be more involved, but I don't make the play calls around here and I don't make the decisions to throw the ball. It's kind of like it's out of my control. I've just got to roll with the punches for right now."
Analysis: Sims-Walker, who needs nine catches for 100 in his career, has been hard to find by quarterback David Garrard. He's been targeted 23 times and has only come down with 12 receptions, 10 of which came in the same game. "I want to get the ball to him more because he is a dynamic player and we can't not throw the ball to him," Garrard said. "We've got to be able to make sure he gets catches, just so we can continue to keep his confidence high and so we're giving the ball to one of our better players. We're not going to force anything or force the ball to him. There's ways to get him the ball and we've just continue to work at getting him the ball." The Bills have not been great against opposing wide receivers and have given up five touchdowns in the last three weeks to the position. That said, the Bills have yet to allow a receiver to rack up triple digits in yards. Sims-Walker is too risky to use as anything more than a No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 5 in Buffalo.
News: For the second time in four weeks, Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker went without a single reception in Week 4 against Indianapolis. He had one pass thrown his way by QB David Garrard and couldn't haul it in. Sims-Walker has 12 catches for 139 yards and a touchdown on the year -- four catches for 36 yards came from injured QB Luke McCown and the other eight receptions for 103 yards coming from Garrard. MSW is averaging two completions per game from his starting quarterback.
Analysis: Sims-Walker stood up for his quarterback last week as Garrard has been receiving a lot of criticism. Apparently sticking up for your QB gets you one look on Sunday. The fact Sims-Walker had a better connection with his backup quarterback is not a good sign. After another 0-fer performance, Sims-Walker still needs nine catches to get to 100 for his career. With Buffalo on deck in Week 5, Fantasy owners should consider Sims-Walker a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR. It's a favorable matchup, but based on his production so far this year he is a risky start.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker might be having a slow start to the 2010 season, but he is not taking his frustrations out on QB David Garrard. In fact, he stood up for Garrard after the team brought in QB Trent Edwards. "You guys take it easy on my quarterback," Sims-Walker said. Garrard's response to Sims-Walker: "I appreciate ya.'' Fantasy owners hope that appreciation will spill over onto the field, possibly as early as Week 4 against the Colts. Sims-Walker has eight catches for 90 yards and one touchdown in three career games against the Colts. However, Indianapolis has had trouble covering WRs in 2010, allowing them to rack up 42 catches for 631 yards and four touchdowns in three games.
Analysis: Without Bob Sanders in the secondary, teams have been taking advantage of the Colts, so the opportunities for Sims-Walker to make some plays in Week 4 will be there. He did have a 100-yard game in Week 2 against San Diego, so his 2010 season hasn't been a complete bust. Sims-Walker needs nine receptions to reach 100 in his career. He also has three touchdowns in his past three home games against AFC South opponents. Consider starting Sims-Walker as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR or flex option in Week 4.
News: After catching 10 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown last week, Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker had a slow game against the Eagles in Week 3. He was targeted eight times by QB David Garrard on Sunday but caught just two passes for 34 yards in the 28-3 loss. On one attempt from Garrard to Sims-Walker, Asante Samuel stepped in front of the pass for an interception. He had a long catch of 23 and averaged 17 yards per reception in the defeat.
Analysis: Sims-Walker had a breakout game in Week 2 but was unable to carry over that success to Sunday's game against the Eagles. Garrard only threw for 105 yards in Week 3 and was constantly under pressure from Philadelphia's front, leaving Sims-Walker with limited opportunities to make plays. He has the size and the ability to be a playmaker in the league but the Jaguars need to get their passing game straightened out first. He faces a Colts defense in Week 4 that gave up 467 passing yards and a touchdown to the Broncos on Sunday so hopefully he will have better success in the upcoming scoring period. Continue to view Sims-Walker as a No. 3 Fantasy WR heading into Week 4.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker faces an Eagles defense in Week 3 that has given up 37 Fantasy points to wide receivers so far this season. Philadelphia allowed 129 yards and two touchdowns in Week one, followed by 58 yards and one touchdown the week after. Sims-Walker, who has been targeted 14 times this season, caught 10 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Chargers.
Analysis: After being shutout on two targets in the season opener, Sims-Walker had a solid game in Week 2. He should be able to put up similar numbers against the Eagles on Sunday, as long as QB David Garrard can stay upright. Sims-Walker has never played against Philadelphia in his career but should be able to find some open spaces as other teams have. Sims-Walker should be viewed as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR against the Eagles in Week 3.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker found the end zone late in the game on Sunday against San Diego. His 3-yard reception from David Garrard came with 41 seconds left in the contest. Thirty-eight of his 105 yards on the day came in the fourth quarter, when the game was already decided and the Chargers were resting some starters. He was targeted 12 times, catching 10 of those passes. He also had a fumble on the day.
Analysis: Sims-Walker had a much better outing on Sunday against the Chargers than he did against the Broncos in Week 1. While he struggled on the road last year -- just 19 catches for 232 yards and one touchdown -- most of his production in Week 2 came so late in the game, so it is a bit skewed. Heading into Week 3 the Jaguars host the Eagles, a favorable matchup for Jacksonville's offense. Sims-Walker should be viewed as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR versus Philadelphia.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker said Thursday he took a shot to the head early against Denver in Week 1, which could have contributed to his poor performance against the Broncos. Sims-Walker was held to no catches and only had two targets. "I was a little dizzy for a couple of plays, but it didn't affect me too much,'' he said Thursday. Sims-Walker was covered quite well in Week 1 by Broncos CB Champ Bailey, but Sims-Walker won't face that same challenge against the Chargers this week. The problem for Sims-Walker in Week 2 is he has to play well on the road, where he struggled in 2009. In seven road games, Sims-Walker had just 19 catches for 232 yards and one touchdown.
Analysis: Based on his performance last week and his history on the road, he's worth keeping in reserve this week, and hopefully he can get rolling soon. We still expect Sims-Walker to start playing like a No. 2 Fantasy WR, but for this matchup against the Chargers he should only be used as a No. 3 WR in most formats.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker was completely shut out by Broncos DB Champ Bailey in Jacksonville's Week 1 win. Sims-Walker was targeted twice in the game but failed to make a grab.
Analysis: Sims-Walker always looked to be in for a tough time against Bailey, a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, but no one though a shutout would be in the cards. Things should get easier in Week 2 against the Chargers, so don't give up on the Jaguars' No. 1 receiver just yet. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy WR for that matchup and just cross your fingers that he's got his worst outing of 2010 out of the way early. The solid play of David Garrard on Sunday should make Sims-Walker's owners feel a little better.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker will have a tough matchup to begin his 2010 season when Jacksonville hosts Denver. Sims-Walker will likely spend most of his time being covered by shutdown DB Champ Bailey, and the Broncos ranked third against the pass last season. They also allowed just 11 touchdowns to WRs.
Analysis: Sims-Walker was taken as the 23rd wide receiver on average in drafts this offseason, but Fantasy owners might want to look elsewhere for a No. 2 option in Week 1 with his tough matchup. The best hope for owners who are forced to start him will be that Jacksonville goes down a couple of touchdowns and has to throw the ball around more.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker showed no ill effects of the shoulder injury that limited him in practice this week during Saturday's loss to the Dolphins. He started and caught three passes from QB David Garrard, ringing up 64 receiving yards. Sims-Walker jammed his shoulder in last week's game against the Eagles.
Analysis: Sims-Walker appears to be fine, and ready to build on his breakout season in 2009, during which he recorded 63 receptions for 869 yards and seven touchdowns. He is unquestionably Jacksonville's top receiver, and a favorite target of Garrard's. However, this isn't a prolific offense, so consider him a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR due to the Jags' unimpressive passing game.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (shoulder) participated in practice Thursday but was wearing a red "quarterback'' jersey in an effort to not get hit. Sims-Walker injured his shoulder in the first preseason game against Philadelphia. He will likely sit for the second preseason game against Miami.
Analysis: Sims-Walker will likely take his time in coming back to make sure he is 100 percent healthy. We're confident Sims-Walker will be fine this year, and he should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy WR in all leagues. He finished the 2009 season with 63 receptions for 869 yards and seven touchdowns and should improve on those totals in 2010.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker said there is no timetable for his return from his left shoulder injury that he sustained in Friday's preseason game against Philadelphia. He finished that game with one catch for 2 yards and his arm in a sling, though he had shed the sling by Sunday according to the Florida Times-Union. Sims-Walker also dropped two passes in the preseason matchup.
Analysis: After the game, this injury wasn't believed to be serious. Now it seems like the Jaguars are going to be cautious with their No. 1 wide receiver. He finished the 2009 season with 63 receptions for 869 yards and seven touchdowns. If this injury is more serious than the team is letting on, it would be a big blow to a team with one of the weakest receiving corps in the NFL. If Sims-Walker is healthy, he is a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR worth a pick around Round 7. We'll keep tabs on this for you.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker suffered a shoulder injury during Friday's game against the Eagles. He finished with one reception for 2 yards. After the game, head coach Jack Del Rio said Sims-Walker jammed his shoulder but didn't believe it was serious.
Analysis: Sims-Walker had a stellar campaign in 2009, finishing with 63 receptions for 869 yards and seven touchdowns. He is unquestionably Jacksonville's top receiver, so if he is seriously injured it would be a crushing blow to a team with one of the weakest groups of wideouts. If healthy, Sims-Walker is a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR due to the Jags' unimpressive passing game.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker did not practice at training camp on Friday. The Florida Times-Union reports that Sims-Walker was told by the coaching staff to take it easy and practice just once a day. Walker said he has no injuries at present but he has a history of injury problems and tweaked his ankle during a May minicamp this offseason. "I feel great," Sims-Walker said. "We're just being smart. [Jack Del Rio] just decided I should practice once a day, training camp takes a toll on your body, it's a lot of running and grinding so we're just being smart with it. ... In the past I've had a couple of injuries and they came from two-a-days in training camp, so I'm just trying to prevent that."
Analysis: Sims-Walker is young, so seeing him practice just once a day at the onset of camp suggests some issues that the team might not be letting people know about. We'd like to see him practice in full daily and even get in a preseason game. Ultimately he should be fine, and he's in position to put up solid stats in 2010 as the Jaguars' top (and only?) receiving option. Consider him a low-end No. 2/top-end No. 3 Fantasy WR just to be safe, and peg him with a pick sometime after Round 7. Hopefully the time off in the summer will help him play better all season long.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker said Tuesday he is missing this week's OTAs with a "tweaked ankle" but will return next week.
Analysis: Sims-Walker should be fine for the start of training camp, but keep an eye on his progress this offseason. When healthy, Sims-Walker should be considered a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR. He is worth a mid-round pick in all leagues.
News: Jaguars offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said in an interview with the team's official website that he's confident in WR Mike Sims-Walker. It's the rest of Jacksonville's receivers that Koetter doesn't know how to rank. "In my opinion, Mike Walker, when healthy, can be a No. 1 receiver," Koetter said. "We know Mike Thomas has a chance to be, at the least, a very good slot receiver. We have to find out if Mike can do more than that. Our big question is who's the two right now? Mike and J.D. (Jarett Dillard), are they the No. 2?"
Analysis: We agree with Koetter that Sims-Walker can be a solid WR. He played well in 2009 with 63 catches for 869 yards and seven touchdowns, and he should be considered a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR this season. Plan on drafting Sims-Walker with a mid-round pick in all leagues.
News: Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said in an interview with CBSSports.com at the NFL owner's meeting in Orlando, FL that Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker has the chance to be even more productive in 2010 and improve on his breakout performance last season. Sims-Walker had 63 catches for 869 yards and seven touchdowns in 2009, which was his third year in the NFL after two injury-plagued seasons. "The biggest thing that we said all along about Mike is he had a find a way to stay healthy," Del Rio said. "When Mike is on the field he's going to be productive. He's a big, strong guy with soft hands and a real good understanding of route running. He's a reliable target for David (Garrard). I know David really trusts him. We just have to keep him healthy on the field. His numbers will be there when he's on the field."
Analysis: Del Rio also addressed Sims-Walker home and away stats. He was better at home than on the road, which is something he needs to work in 2010. He had has just one touchdown and one game with double digits in Fantasy points on the road this season. By comparison, Sims-Walker had six touchdowns at home with six games with double digits in Fantasy points. "That was for our whole team," Del Rio said. "We've actually been studying that and looking at that. Other than just not playing well we haven't found a common thread. Maybe it's the Mike Sims-Walker factor." We hope Sims-Walker can improve on the road, and we like him as a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR coming into this year. Plan on taking Sims-Walker with a mid-round pick on Draft Day.
News: Jaguars QB David Garrard said in an interview with CBSSports.com that he was proud of what WR Mike Sims-Walker did in 2009. Garrard thought Sims-Walker, who had 63 catches for 869 yards and seven touchdowns, should have made the Pro Bowl, and he sees the Pro Bowl in Sims-Walker's future. "That's one of those guys who should be down here and moving forward in the future can be here year after year," Garrard said. "He's a great receiver and a great guy to work with. He makes it very easy for you playing quarterback. You know he's going to give you a good read, and he's going to get open and he's going to catch the ball. Like I said, he's definitely one of those guys that should be here. We need to continue to work together. If he can get here then that makes me look pretty good. Hopefully we can get here together."
Analysis: Sims-Walker had a breakout year in 2009, which was his third season in the NFL. He was better at home than on the road, which is something he needs to work in 2010. He had has just one touchdown and one game with double digits in Fantasy points on the road this season. By comparison, Sims-Walker had six touchdowns at home with six games with double digits in Fantasy points. We like Sims-Walker as a No. 2 Fantasy WR in 2010, and he's worth drafting in Round 5 or 6 in all leagues. Hopefully he can continue to progress next season and eventually be up for Pro Bowl consideration.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker had two catches for 28 yards Sunday at Cleveland. His road woes continued as he had has just one touchdown and one game with double digits in Fantasy points on the road this season. By comparison, Sims-Walker had six touchdowns at home with six games with double digits in Fantasy points.
Analysis: Sims-Walker had a breakout season despite his problems on the road and a poor finish where he had just one game with double digits in Fantasy points in his past six outings. For the season, Sims-Walker had 63 catches for 869 yards and seven touchdowns. He will enter 2010 as a solid No. 2 Fantasy option worth a mid-round pick in all leagues. Sims-Walker was one of the best third-year breakout wide receivers in 2009.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker had two catches for 19 yards Sunday at New England. His road woes continue as he now has just one touchdown and one game with double digits in Fantasy points on the road this season.
Analysis: Sims-Walker will look to correct his road woes in Week 17 at Cleveland. Look for him to rebound in what should be a favorable matchup against the Browns. Consider Sims-Walker a No. 2 Fantasy WR in the season finale.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker, who had 64 total receiving yards over his last three games, equaled that number on six catches Week 15 against the Colts. He also scored his first touchdown in four games, connecting with QB David Garrard on a 16-yard strike in the third quarter.
Analysis: Sims-Walker looked like a top receiving option again Thursday after disappearing for three games. He's still Garrard's go-to guy even if opposing defenses have caught on to it a little more. Treat him as a No. 2 Fantasy WR at New England in Week 16.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker, listed as probable with a calf injury going into the game, is active for Week 15 against the Colts. He was doubtful with the same injury last week and managed to play, catching one pass for 6 yards.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has a total of two catches for 18 yards over his last two games, which is a far cry from the way he was performing earlier in the season. He's still the top receiving option on the Jaguars, making him worth starting despite his struggles, but not as more than a No. 3 Fantasy option.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker is dealing with a calf injury but should be able to play on Thursday night of Week 15 at home against the Colts. Sims-Walker is listed as probable for the game. He failed to make a catch against the Colts during their Week 1 meeting but that was before he was as established in the passing game as he is at this point.
Analysis: Unfortunately for Sims-Walker owners, the good news that he's likely going to play through his calf injury in Week 15 on Thursday doesn't bring much solace. That is because Sims-Walker has been held to a total of two catches for 18 yards during Weeks 13 and 14 against Houston and Miami. He hasn't had a Fantasy week worth talking about since making eight grabs for 91 yards and a score against Buffalo Week 11. The calf could definitely be part of the problem and playing against an undefeated Colts team on short rest Thursday certainly doesn't help. We can only call Sims-Walker a No. 3 Fantasy WR option, at best, for Week 15.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker is dealing with a calf injury but should be able to play on Thursday night of Week 15 at home against the Colts, reports the Florida Times-Union. Sims-Walker failed to make a catch against the Colts during their Week 1 meeting but that was before he was as established in the passing game as he is at this point.

News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker shook off a calf injury to play in Week 14 vs. Miami, but made just one 6-yard catch.
Analysis: Sims-Walker clearly wasn't at 100 percent on Sunday, but it didn't help his cause that David Garrard completed just 11 of his 26 attempts. He might not be completely healthy for Week 15 vs. Indianapolis, but is probably still worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy WR against a team who has nothing to play for.
News: CBS reports that Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (calf) will start in Week 14 vs. Miami. He was listed as doubtful coming into Sunday.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has been a solid contributor this season and should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy WR against a Miami secondary that can give up yards in bunches. He's still obviously a bit of a risky start because he could still re-injure his calf.
News: The Jaguars have listed WR Mike Sims-Walker as doubtful for Week 14 vs. the Dolphins with a calf injury that kept him out of practice on Thursday and Friday. Mike Thomas is expected to start in his place, though he strained his hamstring on Friday. He's listed as probable. "All you can do is play your next guys [on the depth chart]," head coach Jack Del Rio said. "We need everybody and we expect every guy that gets an opportunity to play to step up. It's a big game."
Analysis: If you own Sims-Walker, start working to have a backup plan in place. Torry Holt is the most reliable receiver on Jacksonville as far as Fantasy goes, but we'd recommend the likes of Devin Thomas, Kenny Britt, Louis Murphy, Malcom Floyd and Josh Morgan off waivers. Hopefully Sims-Walker will be fine for Week 15; he's worth holding on to and not cutting.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker (calf) did not participate in practice on Thursday as the team prepares for its Week 14 game against the Dolphins. Sims-Walker had been a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. He had just one catch for 12 yards in a Week 13 win over Houston.
Analysis: This is certainly a cause for concern for Fantasy owners as Sims-Walker has been a solid contributor this season. Hopefully he will be able to return on Friday but Fantasy owners should be preparing a backup plan in case he is held out. If he is able to play, Sims-Walker should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy WR.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (calf) was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday as the team prepares for its Week 14 game against the Dolphins. Sims-Walker finished with only one catch for 12 yards Week 13 against Houston.
Analysis: Despite a bad game in Week 13, look for him to bounce back in Week 14 against Miami. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy WR against the Dolphins as the calf injury should not keep him out.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker had his worst game at home this season on Sunday against Houston. This was only the second home game that he didn't score a touchdown this season as he finished with only one catch for 12 yards.
Analysis: Sims-Walker was targeted in the end zone at least once against the Texans, but he couldn't come down with the catch. Despite the bad game, look for him to bounce back in Week 14 against Miami. Consider him a No. 2 Fantasy WR against the Dolphins.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (knee) practiced in full again Friday as the team prepares for Week 13 vs. Houston. Sims-Walker had six receptions for 81 yards in his first game against Houston in Week 3.
Analysis: Sims-Walker had a streak of three games with a touchdown snapped in Week 12 against San Francisco. However, he has scored in four of five home games in 2009, so the chances are good he could score against the Texans. Sims-Walker is a viable start for Week 13.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (knee) returned to a full practice on Thursday after limited reps Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 13 vs.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker had a below average performance on Sunday in a Week 12 loss at San Francisco. Sims-Walker caught four passes in the game for a total of 46 yards. His longest reception in the game went for 18 yards.
Analysis: Sims-Walker had scored a touchdown in three games in a row coming into Week 12 but failed to make it four straight games as the Jags scored only three points in total. He blew a good opportunity against a poor pass defense in San Francisco. Hell get another chance Week 13 against a Houston that he had 81 receiving yards against Week 3.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker will be active and starting Week 12 at San Francisco. Sims-Walker had been listed as probable for the game with a knee injury.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has scored a touchdown in three straight games and had another solid afternoon catching the football against the Bills in Week 11. Against a porous pass defense in Week 12 against the 49ers, hes likely to find the end zone once again next Sunday. Treat Sims-Walker as a high-end No. 2 Fantasy option for the Week 12 game.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker was able to practice in full on Thursday and Friday after missing practice on Wednesday as the team prepares for its Week 12 game at San Francisco. Sims-Walker is probable for the game.
2 Fantasy option for the Week 12 game as long as the knee injury doesn't hold him out.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker hauled in eight passes for 91 yards in the Week 11 win over Buffalo. He caught the biggest pass of the game from QB David Garrard in the 4th quarter. Sims-Walker's 3-yard TD reception late in the game stood as the game-winning score as the Jaguars topped the Bills.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has scored a touchdown in three straight games now and had another solid afternoon catching the football against the Bills. Against a porous pass defense in Week 12 against the 49ers, hes likely to find the end zone once again next Sunday. Treat Sims-Walker as a high-end No. 2 Fantasy option for the Week 12 game.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker made three catches for 49 yards and a touchdown in a Week 10 win at the Jets.
Analysis: Sims-Walker shook off the coverage of Jets DB Darrelle Revis on Sunday to ruin his tag as Sit of the Week on CBSSports.com. He will get another touch matchup in Week 11 against a pretty solid Bills defense, but should be worth a shot as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker could have a tough matchup in Week 10 at the Jets. Sims-Walker, who has 36 catches for 554 yards and four touchdowns, including three 100-yard games and is coming off an outstanding performance against Kansas City with six catches for 147 yards and a touchdown, is the CBSSports.com Sit of the Week. The Jets, and more specifically cornerback Darrelle Revis, are going to lock down Sims-Walker in this matchup. Revis has helped to shut down some of the top wide receivers this year in Andre Johnson, Randy Moss and Marques Colston. Those three combined for 10 catches for 92 yards and no touchdowns against the Jets. New York is the No. 1 team against opposing wide receivers, and only three receivers (Nate Washington, Ted Ginn Jr. and Lee Evans) have scored against the Jets. They have yet to allow a 100-yard game to a wide receiver this year.
Analysis: Making matters worse for Sims-Walker is the Jaguars passing game on the road. David Garrard has not thrown a touchdown in four games on the road this season. In Sims-Walker's past two road games (he didn't play in Week 1 at Indianapolis and had his violation of team rules in Week 5 at Seattle) he has eight catches for 90 yards, including a disappointing two catches for 9 yards at Tennessee in Week 8. Sims-Walker should play better when he's at home and when he has a better matchup, but Revis is not going to allow Sims-Walker to have a productive game.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker caught six passes for a season-high 147 yards in Week 9 against Kansas City. He caught a 61-yard touchdown in the second quarter, his fourth of the season.
Analysis: Sims-Walker was thrown to eight times in the game and he was the team's big play outlet at receiver once again. He had been held under 10 yards in a peculiar game in Week 8 at Tennessee, but has had at least 81 yards in every other game in which he has a catch this season. Sims-Walker has emerged into a must-start for Week 10 at the N.Y. Jets.
News: It was a tough game for Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker in a Week 8 loss to the Titans. Jacksonville's top receiver was held to two catches for 9 yards. He was targeted just three times. Sims-Walker had managed six or more catches in his previous four games.
Analysis: It didn't help Sims-Walker that Tennessee got back their top cornerback -- Cortland Finnegan -- in Week 8. Finnegan was out three games with a hamstring issue. A few other issues contributed to Sims-Walker's bad week, but we don't yet see it being as a long-term problem. Jacksonville really likes what the 6-2, 214-pound UCF product brings to the table. Consider Sims-Walker a viable Fantasy WR for Week 9 as the Jags play the Chiefs, who rank near the bottom in pass defense.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker had a big game in the team's Week 6 game on Sunday against the Rams. Sims-Walker made nine catches in the game for a total of 120 yards, averaging 13.3 yards per catch. It was his highest yardage and reception totals of the season.
Analysis: Sims-Walker had his longest reception of the season in Week 6, going for 35 yards. He was held out of Week 5 at Seattle but made amends with his biggest game in 2009. He is clearly a big-time target for David Garrard and hopefully won't get in any more trouble the rest of the year. The Jags are off Week 7 then face the Titans on the road in Week 8. In Week 4 against Tennessee, Sims-Walker scored two touchdowns and gained 91 yards.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker, who was inactive in Week 5 after an unspecified team rules violation, will try to make amends for his mistake in Week 6 when Jacksonville hosts St. Louis. The Rams rank 25th vs. the pass this season.
Analysis: Hopefully, Sims-Walker's mistake didn't knock him off track too bad, as he was on a very nice three-game roll before last week. He should be able to find plenty of holes in the porous Rams defense, so feel free to start Sims-Walker as a solid No. 2 Fantasy WR in all formats.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker was inactive for the Week 5 debacle against Seattle after violating an unspecified team rule Friday. He apologized Monday. "It was embarrassing," said Sims-Walker, who declined to reveal why he was benched and fined. "I learned a lot from it and I'm ready to move on. I couldn't even look nobody in the eyes. It was all me. It was my fault and I put them in a bad situation and felt like I let a lot of people down. I take full responsibility for it." Sims-Walker insisted it would never happen again.
Analysis: Sims-Walker was expected to have a big game Week 5 at Seattle but Fantasy owners had to scramble to find a replacement for him as the news on him being inactive came shortly before kickoff. He should return for Week 6 against the Rams and he'll be a very nice No. 2 Fantasy WR for that game.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker was inactive for the team's Week 5 game at Seattle for a violation of team rules. Sims-Walker, who caught two touchdown passes last week, shook his head and waved his hands to fend off questions about what he did while running off the field after the game. Coach Jack Del Rio didn't specify the violation, but gruffly said he didn't regret benching his top receiver.
Analysis: Sims-Walker was expected to have a big game Week 5 at Seattle but Fantasy owners had to scramble to find a replacement for him as the news on him being inactive came shortly before kickoff. Monitor Sims-Walker's status this week but expect him to be active Week 6 against St. Louis.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker has been red-hot lately, and the third-year receiver hopes to keep it going in Week 5 when he play at Seattle. The matchup is favorable for him in spite of Seattle's 16th-ranked pass defense: The Seahawks have given up five passing touchdowns and well over 500 receiving yards in their last two games, both losses. Sims-Walker has 19 catches for 278 yards and three touchdowns in effectively three games this season.
Analysis: The Seahawks don't have the personnel to overpower Sims-Walker, so expect him to continue being a regular target for QB David Garrard. One huge positive: Sims-Walker has at least six catches in each of his last three games. Start him as a low-end No. 1/top-end No. 2 Fantasy WR this week.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker made seven catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 4 win over the Titans.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has now clearly cemented himself as a Fantasy force to be reckoned with over the last three weeks, and could be in for another nice outing in Week 5 against the very average Seahawks. He should be thought of as a nice No. 2 Fantasy WR for that tasty matchup.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker had another solid start Week 3 against the Texans in a 34-31 win. He made six catches in the game for a total of 81 yards but lost a fumble. He failed to score however and had a long reception of 28 yards.
Analysis: Sims-Walker came out of nowhere Week 2 with a 106-yard performance that included a touchdown. He followed it up with six more catches Week 3 and nearly reached 100 yards again. Not bad for a guy that failed to record a stat Week 1 at Indianapolis. Sims-Walker is starting to look like the Jaguars No. 1 WR with 12 catches through two games, and he has a great matchup in Week 4 against Tennessee. Consider him a solid No. 2 Fantasy WR this week.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker will travel to Houston to face the Texans in Week 3. The Texans have allowed 481 passing yards through the first two games of the season, including three touchdown passes.
Analysis: The Texans allowed 209 net passing yards in Week 2 at Tennessee, but most of the damage was done out of the backfield as RB Chris Johnson led all receivers with nine catches for 87 yards. Nate Washington led all wide receivers with four catches for 36 yards and a touchdown. Sims-Walker fell one yard shy of his career high in receiving yards in Week 2 in a loss to Arizona. Filling in for Troy Williamson who is now out for the season, he caught six passes for 106 yards and hooked up with QB David Garrard for a touchdown. He has some sleeper potential in deeper leagues, but this particular matchup is not attractive enough to consider him anything more than an injury replacement option.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker fell one yard shy of his career high in receiving yards on Sunday of Week 2 in a loss to Arizona. Sims-Walker, filling in for Troy Williamson, who got hurt early in the game and did not return, caught six passes for 106 yards and hooked up with QB David Garrard for a touchdown on a 4th-down play that made the score 31-17 in the 4th quarter.
Analysis: Sims-Walker did not make a catch Week 1 but was expected to be the starter opposite Torry Holt before the year began. That ended when he suffered a preseason injury and Williamson took his spot. With the injury to Williamson, Sims-Walker was able to show his stuff and did so in a big way. He is a sleeper Fantasy option going forward and could have a very nice year. He's still more of a No. 3 Fantasy option, at best, Week 3 at Houston. Keep him in mind off waivers, however.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker, TE Greg Estandia, TE Ernest Wilford and QB Luke McCown all dressed for a Week 1 loss to the Colts, but failed to record an offensive stat.
Analysis: None of these guys have any Fantasy value heading into Week 2 vs. Arizona.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Sims-Walker led the team in receiving on Thursday in the Jaguars' final preseason game against Washington. He made four receptions, gaining 63 yards and scoring the team's lone receiving touchdown. He was considered questionable for the game with a high ankle sprain.
Analysis: Sims-Walker will be starting opposite Torry Holt this season and could be in for some big numbers. Hopefully the ankle injury won't hamper him in the regular season. Look to add him off the waiver wire if he gets off to a solid start with the Jags.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker, who suffered a high ankle sprain and has yet to play in the preseason, returned to practice Monday and said he isn't concerned about his missed time. "I can't let that worry me," he said. He also added that he's tired of being hurt after being injured for most of his first two years in the NFL. "I feel cursed," he said.
Analysis: We were expecting big things from Sims-Walker this season since he was expected to start opposite Torry Holt and is entering his third year in the NFL, which is typically when wide receivers have a breakout season. But the ankle injury has lowered our expectations, and you should only view Sims-Walker as someone to add off the waiver wire depending on how he starts out playing this year.
News: After petitioning the league, Jaguars WR Mike Walker will go by Mike Sims-Walker, honoring his recently deceased father. Sims-Walker has been sidelined with an ankle injury and hasn't played in two preseason games.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has also switched jersey numbers, but he still has awful luck with injuries. If you're looking for a late-round flier in deeper drafts, Sims-Walker isn't a bad choice assuming he's healthy. Otherwise, pick him up off the waiver wire if he gets hot during the season.
News: Jacksonville Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio expects about 10 players to miss Saturday night's preseason game against Tampa Bay. Among those players was wide receiver Mike Walker, who is dealing with an ankle injury and has not practiced all week.
Analysis: Walker is a fairly big target with good hands and speed, but he's not expected to be a major stat producer this year. That said, there's really no one in Jacksonville to catch the ball other than veteran Torry Holt and Walker, so at the very least he'll see his fair share of targets from QB David Garrard. If you're looking for a late-round flier in deeper drafts, Walker isn't a bad choice assuming he's healthy. Otherwise, pick him up off the waiver wire if he gets hot during the season.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Walker, who injured his ankle in a team scrimmage nearly two weeks ago, did some running Thursday and says he may be able to play Saturday against Tampa. "Don't count me out," he said.
Analysis: Walker is entering his third season in the NFL, which is typically when wide receivers have a breakout year. He is worth drafting with a late-round pick in deep leagues if he gets healthy soon, especially with Jacksonville in need of help at the receiver spots.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Walker, using a walking cast on his injured left ankle, said he is anticipating returning for the team's second preseason game Aug. 22 at home against Tampa. The third-year receiver has been sidelined for a week after being hurt in a team scrimmage.
News: Jacksonville Jaguars WR Mike Walker is being held out of practice Monday because of an ankle injury. Walker injured his ankle during Saturday night's scrimmage and was held out of practice Monday. Coach Jack Del Rio says Walker had minor swelling, but should be back by the end of the week. Del Rio wasn't sure Walker would play in next week's preseason opener at Miami.
If you're looking for a late-round flier in deeper drafts, Walker isn't a bad choice. Otherwise, pick him up off the waiver wire if he gets hot during the season.
News: Receiver Mike Walker has endured a career's worth of issues in just two seasons with the Jaguars. He's been plagued by a nagging knee injury, slowed by a staph infection that required hospitalization and stunned by the deaths of a close friend and his father. Walker is ready for change. He's already swapped jersey numbers and has plans to alter his name. He's also healthy for the first time in years. The Jaguars are counting on him more than ever, too. After the team parted ways with several wideouts during the offseason, Walker suddenly had more tenure in Jacksonville than any receiver on the roster. And when training camp began Monday, Walker found himself trotting out with the first team alongside seven-time Pro Bowler Torry Holt instead of waiting his turn and lining up with backups. "If I don't (start), it's all my fault," said Walker. "I've been here the longest. I know all the plays. I expect to be a starter in this game, on this team, in this league and just make plays."
Analysis: Walker switched jersey numbers this offseason, going from No. 81 to No. 11, and has plans to officially change his name to Sims-Walker in honor of his father. He also hopes to avoid another injury, which could be key to Jacksonville's offensive success. He's a fairly big target with good hands and speed, but he's not exactly expected to be a major stat producer this year. That said, there's really no one in Jacksonville to catch the ball other than Holt and Walker, so at the very least he'll see his fair share of targets from QB David Garrard. If you're looking for a late-round flier in deeper drafts, Walker isn't a bad choice. Otherwise, pick him up off the waiver wire if he gets hot during the season.
News: The Florida Times-Union reports Jaguars WR Mike Walker appears to have the early lead in the battle to be the other starting receiver alongside veteran Torry Holt.
Analysis: Walker would have to beat out Dennis Northcutt for the spot, but Walker has more upside. Walker is entering his third season in the NFL, which is typically when wide receivers have a breakout year. He is worth drafting with a late-round pick in all leagues, especially with Jacksonville in need of help at the receiver spots.
News: With the arrival of Torry Holt in Jacksonville, third-year receiver Mike Walker isn't expected to be a key figure in the club's passing game save for a strong preseason showing. Walker appeared in nine games in 2008 and had 16 catches for 217 yards.
Analysis: Walker has proven to be injury prone, which doesn't help his cause. He will compete for playing time and could get an extended look in training camp. Walker has decent size and ability but is no better than a reserve Fantasy option. He's only worth a late-round flier in the deepest of dynasty/keeper formats.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Walker caught one pass for 18 yards in Week 16's Thursday night game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Analysis: Walker is a little used player for the Jaguars and most of the time does not stat enough to be considered in Fantasy play. Leave him on waivers. The Jaguars play at Baltimore to end their season.
News: Jaguars RB Montell Owens, WR Mike Walker, WR Troy Williamson, TE George Wrighster and QB Cleo Lemon all dressed for Jacksonville's Week 15 win over Green Bay, but failed to record an offensive stat.
Analysis: None of these players ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers for Week 16 vs. Indianapolis.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Walker missed practice Friday, hours after a friend was fatally stabbed inside an Orlando nightclub. Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio said in a statement that "Mike came to me this morning prior to meetings to tell me that he was visiting friends in Orlando. He explained that a friend was stabbed and died. I excused him from practice today to deal with this situation." Orlando police say 23-year-old Winfred L. Ezell was fatally stabbed inside Club Whispers during an argument Friday around 2:26 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The team said Walker was home when the incident occurred. The incident comes after Jaguars left tackle Richard Collier was shot 14 times on Sept. 2 left paralyzed from the waist down. He had his left leg amputated below the knee.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Walker's status for Week 13 at Houston. He will likely play, but don't plan on using him in Fantasy leagues this week.
News: Jaguars RB Montell Owens, RB Greg Jones, WR Mike Walker, TE Richard Angulo and QB Cleo Lemon all dressed for Jacksonville's Week 12 loss to Minnesota, but failed to record a stat.
Analysis: None of these players ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers for Week 13 at Houston.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Walker, inactive since recording 107 yards receiving and injuring his knee in Week 5, returned with two catches for 15 yards Week 11 against the Titans.
Analysis: Walker showed some potential before the knee injury, but he has an uphill battle to climb toward Fantasy relevance. Leave him on waivers until he starts producing numbers. The Jaguars host the Vikings in Week 12.
News: The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced the inactives for their Week 10 game at Detroit. Not in uniform will be: DB William James (coach's decision), RB Chauncey Washington (coach's decision), DB Brian Witherspoon (coach's decision), LB Mike Peterson (coach's decision), WR Mike Walker (knee) and DT John Henderson (knees).
Analysis: Peterson has some low-end Fantasy value in IDP leagues when he's active, but he was sent home from practice by Jack Del Rio earlier in the week. He can be ignored in all formats for this matchup. The rest of these guys have minimal or zero Fantasy value.
News: The Jaguars have announced the inactives for their Week 9 game at Cincinnati. Not in uniform will be: DB William James (coach's decision), DB Omare Lowe (coach's decision), RB Chauncey Washington (coach's decision), LB Thomas Williams (coach's decision), WR Mike Walker (knee) and DT Tony McDaniel (coach's decision).
Analysis: No one on this list has any more than very minimal Fantasy value, so continue to ignore them in all formats.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Walker (knee) has been ruled out for Week 9 at Cincinnati. It will be the third straight game he misses.
Analysis: Walker is no better than a low-end reserve Fantasy receiver when healthy. He's had one good game in his short NFL career. Consider other options when filling out your seasonal rosters.
News: Jaguars wide receiver Mike Walker returned after spending four nights in a local hospital for staph infection in his right knee. Walker, who has 12 catches for 161 yards, sprained the medial collateral ligament Oct. 5 against Pittsburgh and developed the infection about a week later. He received antibiotic treatments until the infection was under control. Coach Jack Del Rio said Walker won't play against the Bengals, but could return next week at Detroit.
Analysis: Walker is no better than a low-end reserve Fantasy receiver when healthy. He's had one good game in his short NFL career. Consider other options when filling out your seasonal rosters.
News: Jaguars DB William James, DB Omare Lowe, RB Chauncey Washington, LB Thomas Williams, DL Jimmy Kennedy and WR Mike Walker have all been ruled inactive for Week 8 vs. Cleveland.
Analysis: Walker is the really only true Fantasy contributor when healthy, and even then, he is a very low-end Fantasy WR. Make sure to keep these players reserved Week 8.
News: Jacksonville WR Mike Walker (knee) could not practice on Wednesday and the Jaguars list him as officially out for Week 8 vs. the Browns.
Analysis: Walker did register six catches for 107 yards in Week 5 against the Steelers tough defense, but he's still not worth owning in Fantasy at this time. Walker sprained his knee in that game against the Steelers and then suffered an infection in the knee. Even when he's able to return, he's certainly going to be too rusty to be anything useful in Fantasy.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Walker has been released from the hospital following treatment for a knee infection. Walker, who was released Wednesday, sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee Oct. 5 against Pittsburgh and did not travel with the team to Denver last weekend. He's one of the team's leading receivers with 12 catches for 161 yards this season.
Analysis: The Jaguars are on a bye in Week 7, so keep Walker reserved. Even when healthy, Walker is a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Jaguars receiver Mike Walker was in a hospital Monday with an infection in his right knee, a setback that could sideline him a few games. Walker, who has 12 catches for 161 yards this season, sprained the medial collateral ligament in his knee Oct. 5 against Pittsburgh and did not travel with the team to Denver this past weekend. Coach Jack Del Rio said Walker was hospitalized to receive treatments of antibiotics in hopes of reducing the infection his joint. Del Rio said Walker did not have surgery or an open wound.
Analysis: Walker is a rarely used receiver that doesn't produce many stats to begin with. He's a safe drop off of Fantasy rosters at this point.
News: The Jaguars will be without WR Mike Walker for Sunday's game at Denver. Walker, who has 12 catches for 161 yards, injured his knee against Pittsburgh last Sunday and was listed as out. "We're going to get him rested up and have him coming out of the bye week," coach Jack Del Rio said Friday. "He has been a big help both receiving and on special teams." The Jaguars have their bye next week.
Analysis: Keep Walker reserved in all leagues for Week 6 at Denver. When healthy, he is a low-end Fantasy WR at best even with his solid outing against the Steelers.
News: The Orlando Sentinel reports that Jaguars WR Mike Walker, who had a career game in Week 5 with six catches for 107 yards, might have a sprained MCL. He has not received an MRI yet, however.
Analysis: Walker was going to be a hot waiver wire pickup heading into Week 6 at Denver, but now the excitement over the former UCF Knight has tempered with this injury news. Keep an eye on his status the rest of this week, especially if you're thinking about using him as a low-end starting WR against the Broncos.
News: Jaguars second-year WR Mike Walker, who had the first six catches of his NFL career over the last two weeks, doubled that total Week 5 against the Steelers. He caught six passes for 107 yards, leading the team in both receptions and yards.
Analysis: The Jaguars haven't had a reliable wide receiver since Jimmy Smith, so if Walker broke out as a go-to guy, it wouldn't surprise us. If nothing else, he deserves a flier off the waiver wire now. The Jaguars might have a shootout on their hands Week 6 at Denver, so you might even consider activating him if you need a No. 4 Fantasy WR.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Walker caught five passes for 46 yards in Week 4 vs. Houston. His longest catch went for 13 yards.
Analysis: Walker came into the game with just one catch all season, but was thrown to six times in Week 5. And that was with Jerry Porter in the mix for the first time this season. This is an interesting and unexpected development for a receiver who was not expected to be much of a factor this season. Think about taking a flier on him in deeper leagues, but don't activate him in Fantasy until he can back this up.
News: Jaguars WR Mike Walker caught one pass for eight yards in Week 3 at Indianapolis. He was one of eight players to catch a pass.
Analysis: Walker should not be on Fantasy rosters at this time. He is not in a situation to contribute in Fantasy leagues.
News: The following Jaguars players did not record an offensive statistic in Week 2 against Buffalo: QB Cleo Lemon, RB Greg Jones, WR D'Juan Woods, FB Montell Owens, WR Mike Walker, TE Greg Estandia, TE Richard Angulo and long snapper/TE Joe Zelenka.
Analysis: None of the players on this list are going to be in line for considerable playing time anytime soon. Leave them on the waiver wire in all Fantasy leagues until further notice. They've got some depth chart climbing to do.
News: Jaguars receiver Troy Williamson missed his third straight practice Friday and was ruled out of the team's home opener against Buffalo. Williamson, a former first-round pick by Minnesota who was traded to Jacksonville in February, has been slowed all week because of a thigh injury. It's the latest setback for the team's receiving corps. Without Williamson and with all the other injuries at the position, second-year player Mike Walker is expected to make his NFL debut.
Analysis: The third-round draft pick Walker missed all of last season while recovering from a knee injury. Walker might get on the field some, but he is not expected to play a big part in the game plan Sunday. It's safe to ignore him in Fantasy.
News: The Jaguars listed the following players as inactive for Week 1: DB Scott Starks, RB Chauncey Washington, DB Isiah Gardner, OL Brad Meester, DL Derek Landri, WR Jerry Porter, WR Mike Walker and OL Charles Spencer.
Analysis: Aside from Porter, none of the players on this list are going to be in line for considerable playing time anytime soon. Leave them on the waiver wire in all Fantasy leagues until further notice. They've got some depth chart climbing to do. Expect Porter to be on the injury report again for Week 2.
News: Second-year WR Mike Walker likes where he's at with the Jaguars right now as he attempts to finally see some regular-season NFL snaps, reports the Orlando Sentinel. Walker missed all of his rookie year with a knee injury. He started this year's training camp off on a rocky start, including a case of the dropsies in his first preseason game at Atlanta. "Last week was a wake-up call," Walker said. "I think I came out Saturday and did a whole lot better route-wise, timing-wise and just effort-wise. I think I got the speed of the game down and I'm working every day." Walker had 36 yards on three catches vs. Miami in Week 2 of the preseason.
Analysis: Walker is expected to be buried on Jacksonville's depth chart and not a real option for Fantasy owners to draft. Keep him off rosters unless he breaks out over the course of the regular season.
News: The Jags traded running back Alvin Pearman to Seattle on Saturday for an undisclosed draft pick, while placing defensive end James Wyche (groin) and receiver Mike Walker (knee) on injured reserve.
Analysis: Walker, a third-round draft pick from Central Florida, injured his knee nearly two years ago and looked sharp in training camp. Coach Jack Del Rio even said recently that there was no chance Walker would go on IR. Oh how plans have changed. Ignore Walker in all Fantasy formats.
News: Facing the Buccaneers at home in their second preseason game, Jaguars WRs Ernest Wilford and Dennis Northcutt started but did not fare well. Wilford caught three passes for 28 yards while Northcutt was targeted once but did not record an offensive stat. Teammate Matt Jones did record an offensive stat: One catch for zero yards. Rookie WR Mike Walker also did not make a catch, though WR Charles Sharon did make three catches for 54 yards.
Analysis: Jacksonville's receiving corps is still in a state of flux. We know that the coaches have really liked Northcutt's progress since joining the team while Jones is on thin ice (as is Reggie Williams, who didn't even get thrown at). Jones' potential keeps him in the discussion as a low-end No. 3 WR, but none of the other Jaguars receivers are anything better than reserve options in 2007 Fantasy play.
News: The Jaguars are waiting to see rookie wideout Mike Walker at 100 percent, reports The Sports Xchange. Limited to one practice a day due to ACL surgery he had at the end of the 2005 season, Walker has overcome that only to fall back somewhat with a finger injury. He's shown enough talent, however, to let everyone know he'll be in the mix for a top receiver spot.
Analysis: Walker had three catches for 30 yards in the team's first preseason game at Miami. Walker has a chance to play a role for the Jaguars as a rookie, but don't expect him to do great things to impact your Fantasy team. He's not worth a look in seasonal play for now but is worth a late-round pick in both keeper and rookie-only drafts.
News: According to the Florida Times-Union, the Jaguars signed third-round draft pick Mike Walker on Tuesday to a four-year contract with a signing bonus in the $730,000 range. "It's been a long time coming," said Walker, a wide receiver who played at Central Florida. "I'm officially a Jaguar now." Walker gained attention during the club's spring minicamp workouts with strong hands and polished route-running skills. The club expects him to become an immediate contributor as a rookie. Walker caught 90 passes as a senior at Central Florida despite recovering from a significant anterior cruciate ligament injury heading into the season.
Analysis: Walker has a chance to play a role for the Jaguars as a rookie, but don't expect him to do great things to impact your Fantasy team. He's not worth a look in seasonal play for now but is worth a late-round pick in both keeper and rookie-only drafts.
News: In an interview with CBS SportsLine, Jaguars offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter explained what he liked about rookie WR Mike Walker. "You can tell that he's been very well coached in college and has really picked up our schemes and concepts quickly," Koetter said. "He has strong hands -- you get the ball in his area and he'll go get it in his hands whereas a lot of other guys will let the ball get into their body and defenders will knock it away. Mike has a great knack for getting the ball off his body. He got off to a very fast start but got nicked up over the last couple of weeks. I'm very impressed with how fast he grasped what we're trying to do."
Analysis: Koetter added that the WR depth chart is mostly wide open and that with a great camp and preseason, Walker could find extended playing time. Walker doesn't have great speed but has good hands and could eventually be a 40-to-50 reception guy. He's not worth a look in seasonal play for now but is worth a late-round pick in both keeper and rookie-only drafts.
News: Jaguars.com is among several sources reporting that the team's offense sported four-WR sets often in their most recent minicamp and plan to throw the ball a lot more in 2007. "We're going to look for vertical opportunities," coach Jack Del Rio said. "We're going to use the tight end. Everything we're doing with our offense is quarterback-friendly. Everything is seen through his eyes. I'm really excited about the direction Dirk (Koetter)'s taking our offense."
Analysis: The Jaguars' receiving corps is deep but mostly unproven. Matt Jones, Reggie Williams and Ernest Wilford are all veteran Jags who are loaded with potential but have issues with delivering on a consistent basis. Dennis Northcutt was added via free agency, and reports from minicamp said he looked the best out of all the Jags' wideouts. Furthermore, the Jags drafted two wide receivers in Mike Walker and John Broussard who have impressed and could play a decent role in the offense in 2007. And if that's not enough, the Jaguars have a young athletic tight end in Marcedes Lewis as well as a veteran addition in Jermaine Wiggins to go along with George Wrighster at that spot. So who's hot for Fantasy use? It's too soon to tell, and it could be so diverse that no one tops even 700 yards receiving. Without question, Jacksonville's pass attack is one to watch this summer as there will be some cuts coming for sure.
News: The Jaguars' 2007 draft class includes: Florida FS Reggie Nelson, Hampton LB Justin Durant, Central Florida WR Mike Walker, Maryland P Adam Podlesh, Missouri DE Brian Smith, Purdue OG Uche Nwaneri, Wake Forest FS Josh Gattis, Notre Dame DT Derek Landri, San Jose St. WR John Broussard, Elon LB Chad Nkang and Arizona St. OT Andrew Carnahan.
Analysis: Nelson should develop into a top-12 Fantasy DB by the end of 2008 thanks to his overall ability. Look his way with a late-round pick in seasonal Fantasy drafts and an early- to middle-round pick in dynasty leagues. Durant has issues against bigger blockers and may not be ready to play at the NFL level right away but is good against the pass. Walker isn't a speedy receiver but has a lot of nifty moves that could make him a low-end option for the Jags, though he is coming off an ACL injury. Gattis is a sleeper at free safety, though he'll be blocked for playing time by Nelson. Everyone else will provide team depth for the Jaguars and isn't worth a look in Fantasy Football.
