Bengals DE Wallace Gilberry gets go-ahead for game

(10/19/2014) The Bengals have given defensive end Wallace Gilberry the thumbs-up for the Sunday game against the Colts. He had been designated as probable with an eye problem.

(10/17/2014) Five Bengals are either assured or all but assured of being inactive Sunday at Indianapolis. Wide receiver Marvin Jones (ankle) and linebacker Rey Maualuga (hamstring) have been ruled out while wideout A.J. Green (toe), linebacker Emmanuel Lamur (shoulder) and defensive tackle Brandon Thompson (knee) are all doubtful.

The rest of the injured are probable. They are defensive end Wallace Gilberry (eye), safety George Iloka (groin) and offensive linemen Kevin Zeitler (calf), Andre Smith (shoulder) and Mike Pollak (knee).


Wallace Gilberry gets to the QB in opener

(9/8/2014) The Bengals got a big game out of defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry in Week 1, a 23-16 win over the Ravens Sunday.

Gilberry finished the game with four tackles, and added 1.5 sacks and a pass defense as well.

Cook is dealing with a foot injury, and was able to practice in full Friday. Gilberry has a concussion, but was also able to practice in full Friday.

(1/3/2014) The Bengals have listed four players as questionable for their playoff encounter against the Chargers on Sunday, but all were full practice participants on Friday.

They are center Kyle Cook (foot), tight ends Jermaine Gresham (hamstring) and Tyler Eifert (neck) and defensive end Wallace Gilberry (concussion).


Bengals DST unable to bring pressure

(12/16/2013) The Bengals DST played from behind all night Week 15 at Pittsburgh, a predicament that didn't lend itself to bringing pressure. Cincinnati finished with one sack and one turnover in the 30-20 loss.

Defensive end Wallace Gilberry got the sack, giving him 7 1/2, while cornerback Adam Jones picked off an underthrown pass from Ben Roethlisberger. It was his third interception this season, eighth of his career. The Bengals allowed 290 total yards.

Cincinnati should have more success Week 16 vs. Minnesota.

(12/13/2013) The Bengals are quite healthy heading into their Week 15 game against Indianapolis. Cornerback Terence Newman (knee) has been ruled out, but the rest of their Friday injury report features all probables.

That group includes linebackers James Harrison (illness) and Vontaze Burfict (illness/thigh), defensive end Wallace Gilberry (knee), running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis (illness), safety George Iloka (concussion), wide receiver Marvin Jones (shoulder) and guard Kevin Zeitler (foot).

(12/1/2013) Bengals defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry took down Philip Rivers in the opening quarter of Sunday’s game against the Chargers in Week 13 for his 6th-plus sack of the season.

Gilberry finished with just one tackle in a 17-10 victory. He has 20 tackles on the year.

(11/17/2013) A trio of Bengals defensive lineman combined to get after the quarterback in Week 11, in a 41-20 win over the Browns. Wallace Gilberry, Michael Johnson and Carlos Dunlap each racked up one sack in the game, accounting for three o the team's four sacks in the game.

Johnson now has 3 1/2 sacks on the season, while Gilberry has 5 and Dunlap has 7.

(10/30/2013) Five Bengals are listed as questionable for Thursday's game at Miami: linebacker Michael Boley (hamstring), running back Rex Burkhead (hamstring), defensive end Wallace Gilberry (groin), receiver Mohamed Sanu (shoulder) and left tackle Andrew Whitworth (knee). 

The Bengals ruled out four players: cornerback Leon Hall (Achilles), safety Taylor Mays (shoulder), defensive tackle Devon Still (elbow) and linebacker Rey Maualuga (concussion, knee).

(10/25/2013) Bengals pass-rushing defensive end Wallace Gilberry was back at practice on Friday for the first time since injuring his knee in the second half of the game Sunday in Detroit.

Gilberry has started just one game this season and has played on a limited basis, but is third on the team with three sacks. His status for the game Sunday against the visiting Jets is unclear.

(10/7/2013) Bengals defensive end Wallace Gilberry had a big game against Tom Brady and the Patriots during the Week 5 13-6 win at home Sunday. Gilberry recorded two sacks of Brady in the game. 

Gilberry, who also had four tackles -- three solo -- for the Bengals' defense, now has 2 1/2 sacks on the season. He has eight takles over five games. Gilberry also forced a fumble in Sunday's win.
