Eight Jaguars skip trip to Chicago

(8/14/2014) The following Jaguars players did not travel to Chicago for Week 2 of preseason: linebacker Paul Posluszny, wide receiver Tandon Doss, safety Deion Belue, linebacker Dekoda Watson, wide receiver Allen Robinson, wide receiver Lamaar Thomas, wide receiver Cecil Shorts and tight end Clay Harbor.

(12/27/2013) The Jaguars have deemed eight players as probable for their Sunday clash against Indianapolis, including top back Maurice Jones-Drew (hamstring) and linebacker Paul Posluszny (groin).

The others are cornerback Alan Ball (ankle/shoulder), wide receivers Ace Sanders (finger) and Mike Brown (wrist), safeties Johnathan Cyprien (thigh/foot) and Josh Evans (shoulder) and defensive tackle Jordan Miller (shoulder).

(12/23/2013) Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny, who ranked second in the league in tackles coming into the game, led the way with 13, including 10 solo, Week 16 against the Titans. He also had half a sack, giving him two in his last four games.

Posluszny is averaging 10.9 tackles in 14 games this season.


Paul Posluszny, Johnathan Cyprien active

(12/22/2013) Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny and defensive back Johnathan Cyprien, who were listed as probable on Friday's injury report, are both active for Week 16 against the Titans.

Posluszny was limited in practice all week with a groin injury. Cyprien actually missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with a thigh injury before returning in a limited capacity Friday. He missed Week 15 with the injury.


Defenders dominate list of probables for Jaguars

(12/20/2013) The Jaguars list seven probables for their Week 16 clash against the Titans, five of whom play defense.

The offensive players among them are tight end Marcedes Lewis (thigh) and guard Austin Pasztor (shoulder). 

The defenders are cornerback Alan Ball (shoulder), safeties Josh Evans (shoulder) and Johnathan Cyprien (thigh) and linebackers Paul Posluszny (groin) and Nate Stupar (neck).

(12/6/2013) Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny racked up double-digit tackles for the third straight game in a 27-20 win over the Texans Thursday in Week 14. He racked up 13 tackles -- 10 solo -- to lead the team.

Posluszny now has 126 tackles on the season, putting him just 13 shy of his total from the 2012 season.

(11/25/2013) Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny had a productive return to the lineup Week 12 at Houston after sitting out Week 11 due to a concussion. Posluszny tied a season high with 14 tackles (11 solo) and had one pass defense.

Posluszny has totaled at least 10 tackles five times. He has 102 tackles (79 solo) through 10 games. His career high is 151, which he set in 2010 with the Bills.

Every player was listed as probable except Hayes, who was questionable.

(11/22/2013) Several defensive players in various stages of recovery are on the injury report released Friday by the Jaguars.

Listed as questionable for the Sunday game against the Texans are defensive back Will Blackmon (shoulder) and linebacker Geno Hayes (knee). Those deemed probable are defensive backs Dwayne Gratz (hip) and Winston Guy (hamstring), linebacker Paul Posluszny (concussion) and linemen Abry Jones (back) and Roy Miller (shoulder).

Among the offensive players on the report is tight end Danny Noble, who is probable with a hamstring problem.

Posluszny led everyone on both teams in tackles with 12 in the game. He had 10 solo stops for the Jaguars in the 42-10 loss. Posluszny has recorded back-to-back double-digit tackling games.

The 29-year-old has 80 combined tackles this season and is fourth in the NFL in that statistic. He also has one sack and two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.

(10/21/2013) The Jacksonville Jaguars did not have a great defensive effort on Sunday during the Week 7 loss to the Chargers at home. That said, linebacker Paul Posluszny still had a great tackling performance in the defeat.

Posluszny led all tacklers with 14 on the afternoon. He registered 13 solo stops for the Jaguars winless defense. The 29-year-old veteran now has 68 tackles on the season and is fourth in the NFL in stops.

He also has two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown in the Week 6 loss at Denver. Posluszny also has a sack on the year. The Jaguars play at home again Week 8 against the tough defense of San Francisco.

"They're not going anywhere," he said, per USA Today. "We feel good about those guys being here, nor do they want to go anywhere."

Trade rumors were intensified after the Jaguars dealt tackle Eugene Monroe to the Ravens this week.
