News: The Patriots' success with tight ends was a hallmark of their run to the Super Bowl. Now, New England has another weapon to work with. The Sports Xchange cites multiple outlets reporting Monday that the Patriots would sign former Broncos tight end Daniel Fells to a three-year contract worth up to $7 million. Fells, who will turn 29 this fall, caught 19 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns this past season, averaging a career best 13.5 yards per reception. He was fifth on the team in receiving yards.
Analysis: Fells is sure to be behind Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez on the depth chart and might not do much in the way of statistical production. We'd look elsewhere for Fantasy help unless one of the Pats' tight ends misses significant playing time.
News: Broncos TE Daniel Fells had one of his better games of the season in Round 1 of the playoff against the Steelers. He caught two passes for 57 yards in the 29-23 overtime win. He had a long reception of 40 and averaged 28.5 yards per grab. Fells finished second on Denver in receiving behind WR Demaryius Thomas (204 yards).
Analysis: Fells posted just 19 catches during the regular season but had an impact during Sunday. Still, given his production thus far and inconsistent play, consider the 28-year-old as more of a low-end Fantasy TE for Round 2 against the Patriots. Fells was held without a catch when he faced New England in Week 15.
News: Denver TE Daniel Fells was able to score a touchdown Saturday at Buffalo in Week 16. Fells had two targets and finished with two catches for 22 yards and the touchdown, which went for 17 yards.
Analysis: Despite the touchdown, Fells still has minimal Fantasy value in the majority of leagues. He is not worth using in Week 17 against Kansas City.
News: Broncos TE Daniel Fells was not much of a factor in Week 12 against the Chargers. Fells caught just one pass in the 16-13 overtime, but was unable to get in the end zone. His lone reception went for 19 yards, which came on Denver's touchdown drive in the second quarter.
Analysis: Fells was once again a non-factor on Sunday, but that has been the case for him for most of the season. He has four receptions for 61 yards in Tim Tebow's six starts and has been used mostly as a blocking option over the last few weeks. With Denver now implementing a new run-heavy style of offense, Fells targets will likely remain very limited most weeks. We do not recommend starting him in Week 13 against the Vikings.
News: Broncos TE Daniel Fells has been ruled active for Week 12 against the Chargers. Fells, who suffered a concussion back in Week 11 against the Jets, was able to practice this week. San Diego enters the contest ranked eighth in pass defense and are allowing an average of 7.4 Fantasy points to opposing TEs on the season.
Analysis: Fells was able to pass the NFL's concussion protocol this week and has been ruled active for Sunday's contest. However, it remains unknown how much he will play. With Tim Tebow under center, the Broncos have gone to a run-heavy style of offense that really limits Fells' targets. We do not recommend starting him in Week 12.
News: Denver TE Daniel Fells left Thursday's contest against New York with a concussion. He was targeted once in the game, but did not haul in the pass. The Broncos won the game, 17-13.
Analysis: Dante Rosario grabbed one pass in the game, but didn't score so Fells didn't miss out on much. The Broncos aren't passing a ton these days, and now this injury could keep him out of action. At this time, Fantasy owners should leave Fells on the waiver wire as he doesn't bring much to the Fantasy table.
News: Denver TE Daniel Fells registered one catch for six yards during the Broncos' 38-24 victory over Oakland in Week 9. Fells had just one target from QB Tim Tebow as fellow TE Dante Rosario also hauled in a pass for 13 yards. It's the second straight game Fells has netted just one reception.
Analysis: Fells continues to be a hit-or-miss Fantasy option and was held to just one catch for the third time this season. He has not surpassed three receptions in any game and has just 201 receiving yards in eight games. Consider him a low-end option in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: After being held to just one catch for five yards in his last game, Denver TE Daniel Fells is hoping to improve his production in Week 9 against Oakland. Fells was targeted only once by QB Tim Tebow last Sunday as he finished with just one reception for the second time this season. In the Broncos' previous meeting with the Raiders this season, Fells garnered 32 yards on three receptions during a 23-20 loss.
Analysis: Fells was the hero during Week 7 against Miami as he produced a diving 28-yard catch before scoring the tying touchdown -- his second score of the season. But he and several other Denver receivers were limited last Sunday as Detroit mustered seven sacks on Tebow. He could recover against Oakland, which is allowing an average of 8.6 Fantasy points per game. Consider Fells a possible bye-week replacement for Week 9.
News: Denver TE Daniel Fells finished with just one catch for five yards during the Broncos 45-10 loss to Detroit in Week 8 on Sunday. Fells notched only one target from QB Tim Tebow as he was unable to surpass three catches for the first time this season. Fells had been targeted at least four times in each of his past two games, but was unable to form a connection Sunday as Tebow finished with just 18 completions on 39 attempts.
Analysis: At 6-foot-4, Fells has emerged as a quality scoring option for Tebow and entered Sundays matchup with a touchdown catch in two of his past three games. However, the duo could not connect in the end zone against a tough Lions defense as Tebow mustered just one passing touchdown. Fells has gained large chunks of yards this season but as long as Tebow is under center, his reception totals will remain slim. Consider him a low-end TE option for Week 9 at Oakland.
News: After finishing with just two touchdowns with St. Louis last year, Denver TE Daniel Fells has already matched that total through six games this season. Fells has a touchdown catch in two of past three games, including an impressive score against Miami in Week 7 that sent the game into overtime. That touchdown was set up by his diving 28-yard catch between the Dolphins secondary as both receptions marked his output for the game.
Analysis: Fells has a career high of three touchdowns (set in 2009 with the Rams) and might have a strong possibility of reaching that total this season. With inexperienced Tim Tebow under center, the 6-foot-4 Fells represents a tall target and a possible safety net near the line of scrimmage. The Broncos face Detroit in Week 8 and tight ends have seen success against the Lions' stingy defense this season, averaging 8.4 Fantasy points per game. Consider Fells a decent No. 2 Fantasy TE or possible bye-week replacement for Sunday's matchup.
News: Broncos TE Daniel Fells scored on a misdirection screen and set up that play with a 28-yard catch down the middle on Denver's last fourth-quarter drive in their 18-15 win at Miami. Both catches were the only ones Fells made on the day, and they came late. He totaled four targets but played quite a bit.
Analysis: Fells is worth considering as a one-week desperation option off waivers going forward because he'll play a lot and could develop some chemistry as a big mid-range target for Tim Tebow. He's not safe to roll with as a weekly starter.
News: Denver was led by TE Daniel Fells with 47 receiving yards in Week 5 against San Diego. He was targeted four times, catching three passes in the game. The Broncos would go on to lose the game, 29-24.
Analysis: Denver switched from Kyle Orton to Tim Tebow on Sunday, so there is going to be some decisions made moving forward. Fells isn't a big-time Fantasy TE option, and regardless of who is under center he'll be nothing more than a No. 2 TE choice. The Broncos face the Dolphins in Week 7.
News: Denver TE Daniel Fells (knee) is listed as questionable on the team's injury report for Week 5 against San Diego. Fells was limited in practice Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday's session. He has tallied eight receptions for 112 yards and a touchdown this year.
Analysis: Fells' lone touchdown came in Week 4 during the Broncos' 49-23 loss to Green Bay. It was also his score with the Broncos after spending the past three years with St. Louis. The Chargers have permitted an average of 11 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season, in addition to four touchdowns. Fantasy owners should view Fells as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 5 if he's able to play.
News: Denver TE Daniel Fells found the end zone for the first time this season on Sunday against Green Bay. He was targeted three times, catching two passes for 29 yards. His longest reception of the day went for 22 yards, but he would end up fumbling the ball. The Broncos would lose the game, 49-23.
Analysis: Fells is getting playing time because of the injury to rookie Julius Thomas. He will get some catches each week, but is not a big-time target for Kyle Orton. Heading into Week 5, the Broncos face the Chargers. Fells is a low-end TE option, best left on the waiver wire.
News: Broncos TE Daniel Fells totaled 42 yards on two catches in Week 3 at Tennessee. He was targeted four times.
Analysis: If you're interested in a low-end TE who might get you three-to-five points per week, Fells is your man. Otherwise, look elsewhere for Fantasy help. To be fair, he could see a bump in opportunities in Week 4 at Green Bay, but you'd have to be pretty desperate to need him.
News: Broncos TE Daniel Fells saw some passes thrown his way in Week 1 against the Raiders. He was targeted for six passes from QB Kyle Orton, making three catches for 32 yards in the 23-20 loss.
Analysis: Fells, who spent the last three seasons with the Rams, is coming off a career campaign in which he caught 41 passes for 391 yards with two touchdowns. He is currently on pace to surpass those numbers but Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his progress before picking him up in Fantasy.
News:Daniel Fells didn't waste any time becoming the top tight end on the Broncos' depth chart, and now he's out to prove he can play in this league. He claims he's been working around the clock to learn John Fox's offense, and while he doesn't know how many touches he'll get from Kyle Orton, he does anticipate being among those players involved. "We have got some talented guys in our group, so I'm hoping the tight ends get a lot of action," Fells told the official team website.
Analysis: Fells caught 41 passes for 391 yards and two scores last year with the Rams. He could easily do that again, but that doesn't make him a Fantasy star. Keep him off rosters for now.
News: The Broncos released their first preseason depth chart on Monday and listed recently signed Daniel Fells as the starting tight end, with Richard Quinn listed as the backup.
Analysis: Fells has the ability to play TE as well as fullback, so his versatility plays well for John Fox and his run-first scheme. Though he should get a decent amount of playing time, Fells remains a marginal Fantasy option. He's more suited for the waiver wire and as a bye-week replacement. Fells should not be selected on Draft Day, though he will be a good value for Denver.
News: ESPN reports on Sunday that the Broncos have come to terms with former Rams TE Daniel Fells. The team also signed TE Donta Rosario earlier in the day, but it appears that Fells is the projected starter. He caught a career-high 41 passes last season to go along with two scores in 16 games.
Analysis: Fells has the ability to play TE as well as fullback, so his versatility plays well for John Fox and his run-first scheme. Though he will get plenty of playing time, Fells remains a marginal option in formats a deep bench. He's more suited for the waiver wire and as a bye-week replacement. Fells should not be selected on Draft Day, though he will be a good value for Denver.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells had his highest yardage total of the year in Week 15, as he made four catches for 47 yards in a 27-13 loss to Kansas City. His 25-yard reception on the Rams' second-to-last play of the game was his third longest gain of the season.
Analysis: Fells' relatively big game in Week 15 was still a pretty modest effort for Fantasy, so owners can continue to pass him up in all formats.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells was relatively quiet in Week 14 against the Saints. Fells was targeted three times in the 31-13 loss and finished with three receptions for 26 yards. He averaged 8.7 yards per reception and had a long of 10 yards in the defeat.
Analysis: Fells is a possession/blocking TE for the Rams who has 32 receptions on the season. However, he has never caught more than four passes or gain more than 36 yards in a single game this season. Fells does have two touchdowns on the year, but usually does not consistently produce enough to be used in the majority of Fantasy leagues. Leave him on the waiver wire heading into Week 15 against the Chiefs.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells was relatively quiet in Week 13 against the Cardinals. Fells was targeted four times in the 19-6 win but finished with just three receptions for 18 yards. He had a long of 9 yards and did not score in the contest.
Analysis: Fells has just 28 receptions on the season and has yet to catch more than four passes in a single game this season. He is more of a short yardage receiving tight end, who is used on short down and distances. Fells does have two touchdowns on the season, but usually does not consistently produce enough to be used in the majority of Fantasy leagues. Leave him on the waiver wire heading into Week 14 against the Saints.
News: St. Louis TE Daniel Fells caught two passes for 23 yards in Week 12 against Denver. He was the the only tight end not to catch a pass from Sam Bradford. The three tight ends caught three touchdowns passes and had a combined 91 yards in Week 12.
Analysis: Fells may have been the lowest of the tight ends, but Bradford looks their ways a lot. He's not a flashy player and has just two touchdowns on the year, but he's been pretty reliable for Bradford this year. Unfortunately reliable doesn't make you a player worth owning in Fantasy leagues. He can be left on waivers heading into Week 13 and the Rams showdown with the Cardinals.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells did not have his most productive game in Week 11 against the Falcons. He caught just one pass for 11 yards in the 34-17 loss. Fells was targeted two times by QB Sam Bradford.
Analysis: Fells has yet to catch more than four passes in a game his season and the highest yards he has produced is 36. He does have two touchdown grabs but his inconsistencies have hindered his Fantasy value. Leave Fells on waivers in most leagues heading into Week 12 against the Broncos.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells had a pretty quiet game in Week 10 against the 49ers. He caught just two passes for 11 yards in the 23-20 overtime loss. While he was targeted for four passes from QB Sam Bradford, his long reception went for 11 yards and his other went for no gain.
Analysis: Fells has two touchdown grabs on the year but his inconsistencies have hindered his Fantasy value. He has caught at least one pass in every game this season but the most yards he has gone for are 36. With all of the options in the pass game for St. Louis, Fantasy owners would be wise to leave Fells on the bench for Week 11 against the Falcons.
News: Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday that TE Daniel Fells is dealing with a back injury. Fells played well in Week 8 against Carolina with four catches for 35 yards and a touchdown. Spagnuolo said Fells is going for a CT scan on his back. "Just to make sure," Spagnuolo said. "Hes got a little pain back there. They want to make sure its nothing serious." The Rams have a bye in Week 9 before facing San Francisco in Week 10.
Analysis: Fells is worth keeping an eye on because if he's healthy coming off the bye week he could be worth adding in all leagues. The Rams need help at WR with all the injuries, and Fells could be considered a sleeper TE going forward as long as his back is OK.
News: Rams QB Sam Bradford did a good job spreading the ball around in a 20-10 win over the Panthers Week 8. Bradford targeted Daniel Fells, Brandon Gibson and Danny Amendola seven times as each tied for the team lead. Fells caught four passes for 35 yards in the game and scored on a 23-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter to put the Rams up 17-3.
Analysis: Fells now has two touchdown catches on the season. The four catches in Week 8 ties a season high for him set back in Week 1 against Arizona. Fells is good for a few catches per week and the occasional score but he's not consistent enough for Fantasy use right now. The Rams have a bye in Week 9 and return Week 10 in San Francisco.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells continued his steady production, making three catches for 32 yards, as the Lions trounced St. Louis, 44-6, in Week 5. Fells now has three or more receptions in all but one game this season, and he raised his receiving yardage total to 140 on the year.
Analysis: Fells is the Rams' top-producing TE, though he hasn't been much of a factor in Fantasy up to this point. That could change, as WR Mark Clayton -- the Rams' leader in receiving yards -- could miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. With a difficult matchup against the Chargers looming in Week 6, now is not the time to take a flier on Fells, except in very deep formats. However, he is a player to track as a potential sleeper TE over the weeks to come.
News:Daniel Fells heads into a Week 5 matchup with the Lions as the Rams' most productive tight end, with 11 catches for 108 yards and one touchdown. Although, Detroit will make him work to add to those totals. The Lions have allowed TEs to total just 17 catches for 163 yards and one touchdown in four games. No TE has more than 37 yards against Detroit this season.
Analysis: Fells has caught 73.3 percent of his targets (11 for 15) this season, so he has been quite productive when the ball is thrown his way. It's just that QB Sam Bradford likes to throw to his receivers a lot more. Detroit has allowed eight passing touchdowns and 241 passing yards per game, so Fells could be a Fantasy sleeper start at the TE position in the deepest of formats for Week 5.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells caught three passes for 35 yards in a Week 4 win over Seattle. He was targeted four times.
Analysis: With Billy Bajema banged up, Fells got the start on Sunday and made an OK contribution. In Week 5, the Rams play at Detroit, and while that's a great matchup, Fells shouldn't really be used in Fantasy play just yet.
News: Rams rookie TE Daniel Fells caught his first career touchdown in the Week 3 win over the Redskins. He looks to add to that against the Seahawks in Week 4, who's defense has been susceptible to opposing TEs in the first three games. Antonio Gates caught seven passes for 109 yards and one TD against Seattle in Week 3. 49ers TE Vernon Davis exploited their defense for eight catches and 73 yards.
Analysis: Fells has been targeted 11 times this season by fellow rookie Sam Bradford, who is progressing every week. Together, they face the NFL's 30th ranked passing defense, Seattle (allowing 315.7 yards per game). With Rams starting RB Steven Jackson dealing with a groin injury, St. Louis could throw more than usual. If your No. 1 TE has a bye this Week, Fells could be a good replacement. Consider him to be a No. 2 Fantasy TE in Week 4.
News: Rams rookie QB Sam Bradford rolled to his right after the St. Louis recovered a Redskins fumble and hit TE Daniel Fells for a touchdown, taking a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. This was Fells first touchdown of the year. He was targeted four times, catching three passes for 22 yards.
Analysis: Fells now has eight receptions and 73 yards through three games. While he contributes for the Rams, their offense doesn't normally produce enough points to make him relevant in Fantasy leagues. Continue to ignore him all leagues.
News: Rams tight end Daniel Fells has an MCL strain and is considered day to day, according to head coach Steve Spagnuolo.
Analysis: Fells is a decent contributor for the Rams but not a good Fantasy option because he'll catch around two passes per game. Look elsewhere for Fantasy help.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells had a huge catch in Week 2 against the Raiders. The 26-year-old made a beautiful, one-handed catch down the left sideline and gained 36 yards to the Raiders 6-yard line. Fells was shaken up on the play but walked off under his own power and came back into the game.
Analysis: Fells was targeted twice in Week 2 but the 36-yarder was his only grab of the game. He now has five receptions on the year for 51 yards and has proven to be a reliable option for rookie QB Sam Bradford. Fells is a low-end Fantasy TE to begin with, so leave him on waivers in most leagues for Week 3 against the Redskins.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells was held out of Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots due to a knee injury. It was definitely a bad time to sit out. Rookie TE Michael Hoomanawanui started in Fells' absence and was outstanding. He finished with four catches for 53 yards and two touchdowns -- both from starting QB Sam Bradford.
Analysis: While Fells' only catch in the preseason has gone for a touchdown, Hoomananwanui is emerging as a nice pass-catching option and is developing rapport with his fellow rookie Bradford, who could start come Week 1. The Rams haven't forgotten how effective Fells was last season, in what was a lost campaign, but that doesn't mean he has a guaranteed starting position. Fells is a low-end Fantasy TE to begin with, so this competition is not good. Let Fells go undrafted in most Fantasy formats.
News: According to StLouisRams.com, TE Daniel Fells is considered day to day with a hyperextended knee. Fells caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from QB A.J. Feeley in Saturday's preseason game against Cleveland. That was Fells only target of the game and he made the most of it.
Analysis: Fells caught 21 passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns with the Rams in 2009. He played in 14 games -- starting four -- before missing the final two games with a knee injury. This new injury could be troublesome for Fells. While he has potential, playing for the Rams doesn't give him much Fantasy value. He shouldn't be on anyone's radar on Draft Day.
News: The Rams have re-signed tight end Daniel Fells, who caught three touchdown passes in 2009. Fells was signed off of Tampa Bay's practice squad in October 2008 and emerged as a surprisingly effective second tight end for St. Louis. He played in 14 games with four starts in 2009 before missing the final two games with a knee injury. Fells had 21 catches for 273 yards. Two of his touchdown catches came in a game against Green Bay.
Analysis: Fells has a little potential but ultimately shouldn't be considered for Fantasy use. Keep him off rosters.
News: The St. Louis Rams have lost two more players to injury, cornerback Quincy Butler (left knee sprain combined with a high ankle sprain) and tight end Daniel Fells (fractured right thigh bone). The Rams placed Fells on injured reserve Monday.
Analysis: Fells was good for only one or two catches each week, while he was seeing regular playing time. His season is over now and he was never really worth having on Fantasy rosters in the first place. Cut ties in all leagues.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells had one catch for 5 yards Week 15 against the Texans, giving him 21 catches on the season. He hurt his right knee in the first quarter and left the game.
Analysis: Fells is good for only one or two catches each week. Leave him on waivers for Week 16 at Arizona.
News: Rams fullback Daniel Fells had three catches for 32 yards Week 14 at Tennessee. He now has 20 receptions on the season.
Analysis: Fells gets a few more catches than most fullbacks, but he's still more of a blocker than anything else. Leave him on waivers for Week 15 against the Texans.
News: The following Rams players did not record an offensive statistic in Week 13 at the Bears: QB Keith Null, TE Billy Bajema, DE Daniel Fells, RB Samkon Gado, WR Ruvell Martin and WR Jordan Kent.
Analysis: None of the players listed have an Fantasy appeal. Leave them on waivers in all leageus until further notice.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells made one catch for 25 yards in a Week 12 loss to Seattle.
Analysis: Fells rarely makes much of an impact with the Rams and has no Fantasy value heading into Week 13 at Chicago.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells, RB Kenneth Darby, RB Mike Karney and QB Kyle Boller didn't record offensive statistics Week 11 against the Cardinals.
Analysis: None of these players ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells caught three passes for 51 yards in Week 10 against New Orleans. He was thrown to three times in the game.
Analysis: Fells has three touchdowns in the season, but relying on him in Fantasy is a big risk. He doesn't offer much if he doesn't score.
News: St. Louis TE Daniel Fells scored the lone recieiving touchdown for the Rams in Week 8 on a fake field goal. He caught the pass from Josh Brown, the Rams' kicker. It went for 36 yards.
Analysis: This is about the only way Fells is going to be getting TD receptions with the Rams this year. He is not a recommended Fantasy option in any format. The Rams are on a bye Week 9 before taking on the Rams in Week 10.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells caught one seven-yard pass in a Week 7 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Fells makes a catch now and again but has no Fantasy value heading into Week 8 at Detroit.
News: St. Louis TE Daniel Fells made two catches for a total of 11 yards on Sunday in a Week 6 overtime loss at Jacksonville.
Analysis: Fells fell to the ground hard at one point in the game but does not appear to have sustained an injury. He'll pop up now and again with a decent outing, but Fells isn't worth using in Fantasy play heading into Week 7 against the Colts.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells made five catches for 45 yards in a Week 5 loss to the Vikings, but lost a crucial fumble inside the Minnesota 10-yard line.
Analysis: Fells caught two touchdowns a couple of weeks ago, but that was probably just a bit of a freak occurrence. He'll pop up now and again with a decent outing, but Fells isn't worth using in Fantasy play heading into Week 6 at Jacksonville.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells caught one pass for 17 yards during a Week 4 loss to the 49ers. He was targeted three times in the game.
Analysis: Fells had the best game of his career in Week 3 against the Packers when he caught two touchdowns. Unfortunately, he couldn't repeat that performance or come as close in Week 4, even with Kyle Boller under center. Boller was the one who threw those touchdowns to Fells after he replaced Marc Bulger in Week 3. We figured Fells was probably a one-week wonder. He has little Fantasy appeal heading into Week 5 against the Vikings.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells will face the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners have allowed the ninth most passing yards in the NFL through the first three weeks of the season, giving up 253.0 net passing yards per game. They have allowed four passing touchdowns.
Analysis: All Fells does is catch passing touchdowns, it would seem. He has three catches this season and two of them went for touchdowns last season against Green Bay. He is still a very low-end play in Fantasy, but is clearly a viable red zone target and could be considered a decent last-minute injury replacement.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells is very thankful that Kyle Boller entered Sunday's game against the Packers after Marc Bulger got hurt. That is because immediately after Boller entered the game, Fells caught his first touchdown reception of the year. And then he caught another one. Fells finished with two grabs for 35 yards and two touchdowns with Boller throwing the passes. Both Fells' touchdowns came in the 2nd quarter.
Analysis: Fells did not even stat in Week 2's game for the Rams. He has three catches on the season for 44 yards and will often go without a catch. It is far more probable that he goes without stats in Week 4 at San Francisco than he gets another touchdown so continue to keep him on your bench or on waivers.

News: The St. Louis Rams had several players go without stats Week 2 in a loss at Washington. Those players are: RB Mike Karney, FB Daniel Fells, RB Samkon Gado and backup QB Kyle Boller.
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy value and can be ignored in all formats for Week 3 vs. Green Bay.
News: St. Louis TE Daniel Fells made one catch on Sunday in Week 1 against the Seahawks. The catch went for nine yards.
Analysis: Fells is currently No. 2 on the Rams depth chart but he could end up taking over as the No. 1 option at some point this season if McMichael falters. McMichael outperformed Fells in Week 1, so that change won't be coming Week 2 at Washington.
News:The Sports Xchange reports Rams TE Daniel Fells was the offseason standout this year. Fells showed flashes of being a playmaker in 2008 after being signed off the Buccaneers' practice squad, and showed he might be a dangerous weapon during OTAs. Fells has good size, speed and hands, and the West Coast offense being implemented by offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur will utilize the TE. The question is whether he will able to produce on the field during games like he has in practice.
Analysis: Fells will be the No. 2 TE behind starter Randy McMichael, but it's not hard to see McMichael falling back on the depth chart or being counted on more for his blocking. That could open the door for Fells to make plays, and we know the Rams need plenty of those. Don't draft Fells in any Fantasy leagues, but he is someone to monitor during the season.
News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Daniel Fells has passed Joe Klopfenstein on the Rams' TE depth chart and seems like a suitable No. 2 tight end for the team behind starter Randy McMichael. Fells has been making quality catches in practice. "He's very athletic, been making a lot of plays," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "We don't know the blocking part yet, because we don't have the pads on. But I'm very pleased."
Analysis: All right, we're talking about No. 2 tight ends here, but if Fells can keep impressing his coaches, he'll have a shot at some playing time. Fells has some decent size to him but has only seven career catches. That total should rise early in 2009 if he keeps up the good work. Don't aim for him with a draft pick, but if McMichael stumbles or misses playing time, Fells might fill in for a week or two. As for Klopfenstein, continue to keep him off of rosters.
News: Rams TE Daniel Fells caught one pass for 12 yards Week 16 against the 49ers. He now has seven receptions all season.
Analysis: Clearly, Fells doesn't produce Fantasy-relevant statistics. Leave him on waivers for Week 17 at Atlanta.
News: Rams RB Antonio Pittman, TE Daniel Fells and QB Trent Green didn't record offensive statistics Week 15 against the Seahawks.
Analysis: Pittman got a few starts recently when Steven Jackson missed time with a thigh injury, but with Jackson back and playing well, Pittman has little Fantasy value except as a handcuff option.
