News: Titans safety Michael Griffin (illness) was cleared to play Week 17 vs. Jacksonville after being listed as probable on the injury report.
Analysis: Griffin had pretty much a par-for-the-course season. His numbers put him among the Top 60 Fantasy scoring defensive backs in IDP leagues, but he just wasn't consistent enough on a week-to-week basis to be considered more than a low-end Fantasy option. He will hold the same Fantasy value heading into 2013.
News: Titans defensive back Michael Griffin registered his second and third interceptions of the season in Week 15 against the Jets. Both of Griffin's picks came in the fourth quarter of the 14-10 win, including his second one, which he came down with at the 2-yard line as the Jets were driving. He finished with six tackles -- five solo -- in the victory to go along with his two INTs.
Analysis: Griffin played one of his best games of the season Monday night and his two picks ended a six-game INT drought he had been going through. The 27-year-old has had another decent season for the Titans as he has already matched his tackle total from a year ago with two games left. While 2012 hasn't been his best season, Griffin can be considered a viable low-end option in deeper formats over the final two weeks of the season.
News: Tennessee defensive back Michael Griffin is active for the Week 15 Monday night game against the Jets. Griffin was considered probable for the game with a neck injury.
Analysis: Griffin has made 69 stops on the season and joins that with an interception and one sack for the Titans. He's been a consistent IDP option this year for Tennessee, but really only makes enough tackles consistently to be starting in very deep formats against the Jets.

Analysis: Griffin has 69 tackles on the season for the Titans with one interception and a sack. He has low-end value in most IDP formats and that is how he should be viewed against the Jets Monday.
News: Titans safety Michael Griffin had three tackles in Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Texans.
Analysis: Griffin now has 65 tackles on the season, along with a sack, two forced fumbles, and an interception. Griffin has averaged about 84 tackles in the last four seasons and is on pace for that number again. Griffin was responsible for Lester Jean's first-quarter touchdown, as he overshot Jean on the pass coverage, giving the Texans receiver an open path to the end zone. A solid defender, Griffin is a low-end IDP option heading into Week 14 against the Colts.
News: Titans defensive back Michael Griffin posted his second subpar game in a row Sunday in Week 10 against Miami. Griffin finished the game with just two tackles, in a 37-3 win.
Analysis: Griffin has 55 tackles on the season, but just three over the last two games. He is still on pace for another solid season, but Fantasy owners in deeper formats should considered benching him if his slide continues.
News: Titans safety Michael Griffin recorded just one tackle in Sunday's 51-20 loss to the Bears.

News: Titans defensive back Michael Griffin (hip) was a full participant in practice Friday and is ruled as probable for Sunday's contest against the Bears in Week 9.
Analysis: Griffin has been a huge contributor defensively for the Titans this season and has posted 53 tackles -- 38 solo -- through his first eight games. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a solid option in deeper IDP formats heading into Week 9.
News: Tennessee defensive back Michael Griffin had a big defensive game on Sunday during a Week 8 loss to the Colts. Griffin picked off an Andrew Luck pass in the game and added eight tackles for the Titans. Six of his eight tackles were of the solo variety.
Analysis: Griffin already has an 18-tackle game under his belt this season but hasn't come close to that number since that Week 2 game at San Diego. The interception Sunday was his first of the year. Griffin has struggled for the most part but can still be active in deeper IDP formats heading into Week 9 against the Bears.
News: Titans defensive back Michael Griffin had his most productive performance in five weeks Sunday against the Bills in Week 7. He had six tackles -- all solo -- in a 35-34 win.
Analysis: Griffin is back on pace for another 100-tackle season, which is where much of his Fantasy value lies. He has yet to pick off a pass this season, but he has one in each of his previous five seasons, so it should not be long before he gets his next. Continue to consider him a decent Fantasy option in many IDP formats at this point.
News: Titans defensive back Michael Griffin wasn't much of a factor in Week 6 against the Steelers. Griffin, who was fined $21,000 for he hit he put on Michael Jenkins last week, finished with four tackles -- two solo -- in the 26-23 win. He now has 39 tackles on the year.
Analysis: Griffin has not been his usual self of late as he has only registered nine tackles over his last three games. He has not successfully defended a pass over that stretch -- or on the season -- and is still looking for his first INT. However, the 27-year-old continues to quarterback the secondary and he should still get his numbers when all is said and done. Leave him active in most formats heading into Week 7.
News: Titans defensive back Michael Griffin was fined $21, 000 on Tuesday for unnecessary roughness from the league office for the hit he put on Michael Jenkins in Sundays 30-7 loss to the Vikings. The Titans were penalized 15 yards on the play. It is easy for everybody to say take the shot. But how easy is it to come out of my pocket? Griffin said. It is one of those deals where I am a dumb (expletive) if I dont make the hit, and I am a dumb (expletive) if I do and get penalized and fined. If I dont take the hit, fans and everybody else is pissed off. If I do, it comes out of my wallet. So its a no-win situation.
Analysis: Griffin finished with just five tackles in Tennessee's Week 5 loss to the Vikings as he left the contest briefly with a head injury. However, he was able to return and looks to be fine moving forward. However, the 27-year-old has been fairly quiet over the last few weeks as has posted just 10 tackles over his last three games. Still, Griffin has proved to be a reliable IDP option in the past and he should still get his numbers when all is said and done. Leave him active in most formats heading into Week 6.
News: Tennessee defensive back Michael Griffin notched four tackles during the Titans' 30-7 loss at Minnesota in Week 5. Griffin rebounded from a lowly outing the previous game when he had just one tackle against Houston -- just the third time he collected only one stop in a game.
Analysis: Griffin has slowed done since his Week 2 showing when he posted a career-high 18 tackles and has failed to reach that mark in his past three games combined (13). Still, he is remains part of a secondary that permits ample yards so he should be able to increase his production. Look to him as a decent option in Fantasy IDP formats.
News: Titans safety Michael Griffin totaled one solo tackle Week 4 at Houston. It was his lowest tackle total of the season. He has 31 tackles (23 solo) through four games.
Analysis: Griffin's Fantasy appeal spiked after he totaled 18 tackles Week 2 against the Chargers. He has had nine tackles in his last two games, so Griffin isn't rewarding Fantasy owners like he did Week 2. He can be a viable Fantasy start in IDP formats. Just don't expect a ton of 18-tackle outings.
News: Titans defensive back Michael Griffin, who followed up a four-tackle performance in Week 1 with an 18-tackle performance in Week 2, found the middle ground against the Lions in Week 3, finishing with eight tackles, including four solo.
Analysis: Griffin might not quite reach eight every week, but he'll be a reliable source of tackles for a defensive back and may even contribute the occasional interception. He remains a viable option in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Titans defensive back Michael Griffin was all over the field in Week 2 against the Chargers. Griffin finished with a career-best 18 tackles -- 16 solo -- in the 38-10 defeat. One of his tackles went for a loss and he now has 22 stops on the year.
Analysis: Griffin is Tennessee's best tackling defensive back and he proved as much in Week 2 with his monster performance. The 27-year-old seems to have a knack for always being around the ball so leave him active in all formats heading into Week 3 against the Lions.
News: Titans defensive back Michael Griffin had four tackles Sunday in Week 1 against the Patriots. Griffin had two solo tackles in the game.
Analysis: Griffin is worth using in deep IDP leagues as a No. 2 defensive back option. He should play well in Week 2 at the Chargers.
News: The Titans have agreed to terms with safety Michael Griffin on a five-year deal Tuesday. Tennessee placed the franchise tag on Griffin in March, but the Pro Bowl safety signed a tender to participate in the offseason program. There was no pressure at all, I just continued to play football, Griffin said. I think the organization and myself handled it great.
Analysis: Griffin's numbers were down in 2011 as he totaled 75 tackles with seven passes defensed, two interceptions and a forced fumbles. Nearly all of his non-tackle stats were half of what he had in 2010 and his tackle numbers were down by 33 total. Griffin has the obvious potential to be a No. 1 Fantasy defensive back but should probably be drafted more like a low-end No. 2 option with a late-round pick.
News: The Titans decided to apply the franchise tag on free safety Michael Griffin on Monday, not cornerback Cortland Finnegan. Tennessee now has a window of eight days to negotiate with Finnegan before free agency begins on March 13. At the combine, general manager Ruston Webster said he expected negotiations to go down to the wire.

Analysis: Griffin recorded 108 tackles last season, which is a great number for a defensive back, but he hasn't been as productive this season. He has yet to record more than six tackles in a game. Because he's not necessarily a reliable source of interceptions either, he's looking like a No. 3 Fantasy DB at best this season.

News: Michael Griffin says he's still trying to get comfortable at cornerback after playing safety in college. The Tennessee Titans liked his performance at his new position enough to let their top pick work with the first-team defense Monday. The chance came as part of the secondary rotation Titans coaches are using during training camp in hopes that competition will sift out the starters. Griffin helped himself by intercepting two passes Friday in a 27-24 victory at New England. "Things are not set in stone. Everybody's getting an opportunity, and I really don't know what's going on," Griffin said after working opposite veteran Nick Harper in the morning session. "I'm just doing what they're telling me. I don't think it means anything. I guess since me being a rookie and the first-rounder, there's high expectations."
Analysis: Consider Griffin a low-end option in IDP leagues and hope he continues to make progress. He could be a useful option as the season goes on.
News: The Tennessee Titans had all their draft picks except Michael Griffin on the field Friday afternoon for the start of training camp. Griffin, the 19th overall pick, will be around Saturday after agreeing to terms by the time the first practice ended. General manager Mike Reinfeldt walked out as coach Jeff Fisher talked to reporters and gave him the news that the Griffin had agreed to terms. "I wanted to give you something to talk about," Reinfeldt said.
Analysis: Fisher already said he wasn't worried about getting Griffin signed and that he thought they were close to filling out the paperwork. Fisher said they will start the former Texas safety at cornerback to see if he can help fill the void left by the season-long suspension of Adam "Pacman" Jones. Griffin had eight interceptions at Texas where he started at free safety last season alongside his twin brother, Marcus. He also blocked eight kicks in his career, including six punts. He was a quality player in college and should end up being a nice reserve DB in the deepest of Fantasy IDP leagues. Dynasty league owners should consider him with a middle-round choice since he could revert to safety before his career is past him.
News: Titans rookie Michael Griffin, who played safety in college, will start out at cornerback with Tennessee to help the team fill a hole on defense left by the season-long suspension of cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones. Head coach Jeff Fisher liked how Griffin handled working at cornerback. "He improved from this morning to this afternoon, and we expected to see that. As we've said all along, he's a very talented player. He's a very good defensive player and he can play all the positions, and he will only continue to get better outside," Fisher said.
Analysis: Griffin said he needs to work on staying low and his backpedal. "It's a learning process. I don't think it's no A. You can give me an E for effort," Griffin said.
