Bucs cut two DL

News: The Buccaneers released defensive ends Tim Crowder and Nick Reed. Crowder has spent the past three seasons with the Buccaneers, playing in 41 games with 13 starts. In 2011, he played in 10 games and had 14 tackles. Reed joined the team for the final three games in 2011 and had two tackles.
Analysis: Neither one of these guys is expected to put up quality stats on a consistent basis. Leave both off of Fantasy rosters.

Crowder ends up on IR

News: The Bucs promoted safety Ahmad Black to the active roster on Friday after placing DL Tim Crowder (head) on injured reserve.
Analysis: Crowder is a fifth-year pro out of Texas. He had just 14 tackles this season as a backup DL. He had no Fantasy appeal.

Crowder suffers head injury

News: Tampa Bay DE Tim Crowder suffered a head injury during the Week 13 loss to the Panthers. Crowder left the game and could not return. He finished with no tackles on the game for the Buccaneers and was mostly used in special teams situations.
Analysis: Crowder, a veteran out of the University of Texas, is used mostly on special teams for the Buccaneers. Crowder doesn't rack up major tackles and has low-end Fantasy value in IDP formats, when healthy.

Crowder remains a Buccaneer

News: The Tampa Tribune reports Friday that the Bucs were able to re-sign DL Tim Crowder. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Crowder started nine games last season -- a career-high -- while notching three sacks in the process.
Analysis: Crowder made a solid impact on the Tampa Bay defense lasts season as both a starter and reserve, but his playing time may be cut-down in 2011 with the additions of rookies Adrian Clayborn and Da'Quan Bowers in April's NFL Draft. Even if he somehow plays as much as he did last season, he has next to no Fantasy value going forward. Ignore Crowder on Draft Day.

Crowder sacks QB Flacco

News: Tampa Bay DL Tim Crowder picked up one of the Buccaneers' four sacks during the Week 12 loss at Baltimore. Crowder got to QB Joe Flacco in the defeat and now has three sacks on the year. Crowder added a season-high-tying four tackles against Baltimore.
Analysis: Crowder has never had more than four tackles in a game and his first two sacks this season came in the same game back in Week 2 at Carolina. Needless to elaborate, Crowder has little Fantasy value in IDP leagues heading into Week 13 against the Falcons.

Hayes, Crowder frustrate Moore

News: Buccaneers LB Geno Hayes made an interception and DL Tim Crowder got a sack in a Week 13 loss to Carolina, who were quarterbacked by Matt Moore.
Analysis: Both of these guys have minimal Fantasy value at best in IDP leagues, so continue to ignore them in Week 14 vs. the Jets.

Analysis: White is really the only player in this group with any Fantasy value in IDP leagues heading into Week 10 at Miami.

Bailey, Williams among inactives

News: The Broncos listed WR Chad Jackson, WR Glenn Martinez, DB Marlon McCree, DB Champ Bailey, LB D.J. Williams, DL Josh Shaw and DL Tim Crowder among their inactives for Week 10 at Cleveland.
Analysis: Bailey (groin) and Williams (knee) both have some appeal in Fantasy IDP leagues, but both will likely miss a few more weeks with their injuries. None of these other players matters in Fantasy even when active.

Broncos list Week 9 inactives

News: Denver has listed the following players as being inactive for Week 9 against Miami: DB Champ Bailey, DL Tim Crowder, DB Vernon Fox, WR Chad Jackson, WR Glenn Martinez and DL Josh Shaw.
Analysis: Bailey hasn't been his normal lockdown self in 2008, but is still posting a decent amount of stats when healthy. He could miss several more weeks, so until he is ready to play, keep him reserved in Fantasy IDP leagues. The rest of the players listed above have minimal Fantasy value and should be kept off rosters at this time.

Crowder has decent debut

News: Broncos DL Tim Crowder played well in his rookie season in 2007. He had 16 tackles with four sacks, one forced fumble and one defensive touchdown.
Analysis: Crowder is more of a run-stuffer and has minimal Fantasy value. Don't plan on using Crowder in any leagues in 2008, but he could have value as the season goes on.
