Colts cut two QBs and RB Keith Colts cut two QBs and RB Keith Updated 8/30/2008
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: The Colts cut two reserve quarterbacks, Quinn Gray and Jared Lorenzen, on Saturday, a likely sign that Peyton Manning and backup Jim Sorgi are on the mend. Running back Kenton Keith was the other significant cut. Analysis: Gray, Lorenzen and Keith all had slight Fantasy value as backups to the Colts starters. Gray and Lorenzen were fighting for third string, however, and will only gain any kind of value again if they catch on elsewhere as the team's No. 2 QB. Keith could land somewhere where he'll see some carries. He's mostly avoidable in Fantasy, but we'll let you know if he finds a better home.
Colts RBs pathetic Saturday Colts RBs pathetic Saturday Updated 8/9/2008
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: The Indianapolis Colts RBs certainly didn't impress anyone on Saturday against the Panthers. After starter Joseph Addai left with four carries for zero yards, Dominic Rhodes and Kenton Keith, both vying for the backup carries, were quite pathetic as well. Rhodes rushed for minus-2 yards on four carries and Keith gained one yard on one carry. Analysis: Look for Rhodes to win the No. 2 job behind Addai and get as much as 10 carries per game. Because of that, he's worth drafting as a low-end Fantasy RB and a good handcuff for Addai. If Keith wins the battle, he'd be the low-end RB, if he loses, he's not worth drafting in Fantasy.
K. Keith on the outs in Indy? K. Keith on the outs in Indy? Updated 5/8/2008
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: The Colts have put their tag-team runners -- Joseph Addai and Dominic Rhodes -- back together. The tandem that helped Indianapolis win its first Super Bowl title has been reunited after Rhodes agreed on a one-year deal to return to the Colts. Rhodes' agent, Mike McCartney confirmed the signing Wednesday in an e-mail to The Associated Press. The transition should be smooth for Rhodes, who is expected to share reps with Addai, albeit not to the extent he did in 2006. Analysis: With Rhodes re-signed, Kenton Keith might be expendable. He was arrested earlier this offseason and doesn't appear to be in the Colts' future plans with Rhodes re-signed. Keith is no longer worth drafting in Fantasy play this summer.
Keith arrested Sunday Keith arrested Sunday Updated 4/21/2008
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts RB Kenton Keith was out of jail Monday after being arrested for refusing to leave a nightclub parking lot and yelling at officers that he was a Colts player who had done nothing wrong, police said. Officers working security tried to clear a crowd from the parking lot of the Cloud 9 club after it closed at 3 a.m. Sunday. The 27-year-old Keith and several others refused to leave and were laughing, dancing and joking, police said. Police eventually ordered them to put their hands on a vehicle, but Keith refused and took out a cell phone to record the incident, according to an Indianapolis police report. He kept saying, "I'm a Colts player, I'm a Colts player," the report said. Police handcuffed him when he refused to put his hands behind his back and he was taken to jail, police said. Keith was charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement, public intoxication and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, because a man he brought to the club with him was 19, police said. He was released from jail later Sunday on his own recognizance. His initial hearing is set for Wednesday. Analysis: Keith has been with the Colts for one season after playing in the Canadian Football League. He scored four touchdowns last season, with 533 rushing yards and 77 receiving yards. He is expected to backup Joseph Addai in 2008 and should be considered a late-round addition in most leagues and a good handcuff to Addai. Hopefully his arrest does not cause any problems.
Keith backs up Addai Keith backs up Addai Updated 1/31/2008
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts RB Kenton Keith played well as the backup to Joseph Addai in 2007. Keith appeared in all 16 games with one start in Week 5 when Addai was hurt with a chest injury. Keith had 533 yards rushing and three touchdowns and caught 13 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. The game Keith started against Tampa Bay he had 121 yards rushing and two touchdowns and caught five passes for 37 yards. Analysis: Keith is a solid backup RB and worth taking at the end of drafts if you own Addai. If Addai gets hurt, Keith would have tremendous value. For now, consider Keith a No. 4 Fantasy RB in 2008.

Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts RB Kenton Keith picked up 12 yards on three carries Week 17 against the Titans. Analysis: We thought Keith might get extra playing time as the Colts rested Joseph Addai, but he clearly didn't get many opportunities. He remains great Fantasy insurance for Addai and one of the best backup running backs in the NFL.
Addai not expected to play much Addai not expected to play much Updated 12/24/2007
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: All eyes are focused on Indianapolis to see if Dungy plays his starters in the NFL's final regular season game, just as they were for the league's season-opener in September. And the usually cautious Dungy won't tip his hand much, but he is planning on pulling Peyton Manning and his starters no later than the end of the first half. In previous meaningless regular-season finales, his starters worked one series before leaving. It could happen again Sunday night, although Dungy sounds like he'll give his first-teamers a few more snaps. "We've got the same type of situation this week, where the game really doesn't mean much, and we got some rest for some of our regulars at the end of the game," Dungy said. "That's probably what we'll do this week only a little earlier. We do plan to play everybody, we're just not sure how long yet." Analysis: Fantasy owners playing in Week 17 shouldn't expect to see much of Addai, who hurt his back and shoulder, missing a chunk of Week 16. We expect Kenton Keith and Clifton Dawson to see a lot of work (especially Dawson so that Keith stays healthy). Hopefully you own a backup Fantasy running back that can replace Addai in your lineup in Week 17.
Keith sees extra action Keith sees extra action Updated 12/23/2007
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts RB Kenton Keith had 10 carries for 60 yards and caught two passes for 8 yards Sunday against Houston. Analysis: Keith is a low-end Fantasy RB, but he could be worth using in Week 17 against the Titans. Joseph Addai was injured against the Texans, and since the Colts have nothing to play for in Week 17, Keith could get additional carries.

Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts RB Kenton Keith ran three times for 11 yards Week 15 at Oakland. He played in spite of a hand injury that made him questionable leading up to the game. Analysis: Keith remains one of the more valuable backup running backs in Fantasy, but something would have to happen to Joseph Addai for him to make an impact. Keep him reserved for Week 16 against the Texans.
Kenton Keith OK to play Week 15 Kenton Keith OK to play Week 15 Updated 12/16/2007
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: The Colts didn't list RB Kenton Keith among their inactives for Week 15, meaning he'll suit up and play at Oakland. The team had included him on their injury report as questionable with a hand injury. Analysis: Keith remains one of the more valuable backup running backs in Fantasy, but something would have to happen to Joseph Addai for him to make an impact. Keep him reserved for Week 15 at Oakland -- hand injury or no hand injury.
Keith takes in another full practice Keith takes in another full practice Updated 12/14/2007
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts RB Kenton Keith (hand) is listed as questionable for Week 15 at Oakland. Keith went through full practices Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Keith injured the thumb several weeks ago, then re-injured it Week 14 at Baltimore. "Kenton has a sprained thumb on his left hand, and it's not really debilitating," head coach Tony Dungy said. "But in his case, he has to catch and carry the ball, so that makes it more difficult." Analysis: Keith remains one of the more valuable backup running backs in Fantasy, but something would have to happen to Joseph Addai for him to make an impact. Keep him reserved for Week 15 at Oakland -- thumb injury or no thumb injury.

Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts RB Kenton Keith (thumb) did not practice Wednesday, but returned to a full practice Thursday as the team prepares for Week 15 at Oakland. Keith injured the thumb several weeks ago, then re-injured it Week 14 at Baltimore. Keith said a decision on his playing status would be made later this week.

News: Colts RB Kenton Keith had five carries for 16 yards Week 14 at Baltimore, but he didn't play in the second half after the Colts built up a big lead early. He re-injured a sprained thumb and is scheduled for an MRI. Analysis: Keith remains one of the more valuable backup running backs in Fantasy, but something would have to happen to Joseph Addai for him to make an impact. Keep him reserved for Week 15 at Oakland -- thumb injury or no thumb injury.
Keith appears ready for Week 14 Keith appears ready for Week 14 Updated 12/7/2007
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts RB Kenton Keith (illness) is listed as probable for Week 14 at Baltimore. He went through full practices Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Keith, the backup to Joseph Addai, carried one time for minus-6 yards against the Jaguars Week 13 a week after totaling 17 carries for 74 yards against the Falcons. Analysis: Keith is only a valuable Fantasy asset when Addai is nursing some sort of injury. He usually doesn't warrant use in Fantasy leagues and should be kept reserved heading into Week 14 at this juncture.

News: Colts RB Kenton Keith (illness) did not practice Wednesday, but returned to a full routine Thursday as the team prepares for Week 14 at Baltimore.

Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts backup RB Kenton Keith had a rush for minus-6 yards vs. the Jags in Week 13. Analysis: Keith doesn't post enough stats on a regular basis to warrant use in Fantasy play. He's best used as a Fantasy insurance policy for Joseph Addai. The Colts play at the Ravens in Week 14.
Kenton Keith rumbles for 74 yards Kenton Keith rumbles for 74 yards Updated 11/23/2007
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts RB Kenton Keith, who replaced Joseph Addai in the lineup briefly while the starting back had his neck examined in the second quarter, had 17 carries for 74 yards Week 12 at Atlanta -- his most since Week 5, when he started. Analysis: Since Addai returned and handled a big chunk of the carries even with the game more or less out of reach, we expect Keith won't see so much action Week 13 against the Jaguars. Still, he's one of the best reserve running backs you could own in Fantasy.
Kenton Keith catches a seven-yard pass Kenton Keith catches a seven-yard pass Updated 11/18/2007
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: Colts RB Kenton Keith caught one pass for seven yards Week 11 against the Chiefs. He also carried the ball twice, losing three yards in the process. Analysis: Keith's production has gone down every week since posting 121 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Bucs in Week 5. The Colts intended to use him in a split situation with Joseph Addai, but Addai has proven too valuable to take out of the lineup. Hang on to Keith as insurance. He might make for a sneaky start Week 12 at Atlanta if the Colts go up big early.
Keith continues to cough up carries Keith continues to cough up carries Updated 11/16/2007
Kenton Keith, RB IND
News: The Week 5 game when Kenton Keith had 121 yards against the Buccaneers must seem about six years ago, not six weeks ago, for Keith's owners. He only has eight carries for 25 yards over his last two games and will back up Joseph Addai once again in Week 11 against the Chiefs. Analysis: Keith did catch a seven-yard touchdown in Week 11, but it was his only reception of the game. He is worth having on your roster if you are a Addai owner, but shouldn't be starting in anything but the deepest of leagues on Sunday.
