News: Jacksonville defensive lineman Jason Babin posted two tackles and a sack during the Jaguars' 17-10 loss to the Jets in Week 14. Babin took down New York quarterback Mark Sanchez for the team's only sack of the game and his first since joining Jacksonville on Nov. 28.
Analysis: Babin was tossed from the Philadelphia roster in late November as the Eagles preferred to play younger players at the end of their disappointing season. The 32-year-old has suited up for two games with his new team, collecting six tackles and a sack in that stretch. Fantasy owners should consider him a viable option for sacks at this point.
News: According to ESPN, newly claimed Jason Babin will start at defensive end Week 13 at Buffalo, his first game with the Jaguars. He was placed on waivers by the Eagles after Week 12.
Analysis: Babin has just 5 1/2 sacks this season, but he had 18 last season. Clearly, he's going to have plenty of opportunity with the Jaguars. Whether or not he can deliver remains to be seen, but if you're looking for sacks, he's an option to consider.
News: Multiple sources report the Jaguars claimed defensive end Jason Babin off waivers from the Eagles, who released him Tuesday. Coach Mike Mularkey said Babin will probably play Sunday at Buffalo.

News: The Eagles made a shocking move Tuesday, releasing defensive lineman Jason Babin. We appreciate everything that Jason has given this team over the last couple of years," coach Andy Reid said. "We wish him all the best as he continues his career. By releasing him today, this gives us an opportunity to give more playing time to some of younger guys in the defensive line rotation.
Analysis: The Eagles pass rush has struggled all season. Babin managed just 5 1/2 sacks in 11 games after totaling 18 in 16 games last year. This probably wasn't a performance-related move. It probably has more to do with the Eagles hoping someone picks up Babin's contract. Babin will likely be on another NFL roster soon, but Fantasy IDP owners have to take him out of active lineups until further notice.
News: Eagles defensive linemen Jason Babin picked up his 5.5 sack of the season in Week 12 against the Panthers. Babin also finished with four tackles in the 30-22 defeat and was also credited with a pair of QB hits.
Analysis: Babin has been on a sack tear of late as he now has three over his last four games after being shutout over his previous four games. While Babin has been a major disappointment after posting 18 sacks a year ago, owners should leave him active while he is on a little tear.
News: Eagles defensive lineman Jason Babin was able to make a sack in the Week 11 blowout loss at Washington Sunday. It was a saving sack for a horrendous game all around for the Eagles. Babin recorded just two tackles and has just two in his last two games against the Cowboys and Redskins.
Analysis: Babin has two sacks in his last three games and 4 1/2 on the season for the Eagles. For a guy who finished with 18 sacks last season he is well off that pace. Babin, like the Eagles, has been a disappointment all around this year. He has low-end value in most Fantasy IDP formats.
News: After going the previous four games without a sack, Eagles defensive lineman Jason Babin was able to get back on the board in Week 9 against the Saints. He brought down quarterback Drew Brees once and finished with four tackles (two solo) in the 28-13 loss.
Analysis: Babin has just 3.5 sacks through eight games this season and it doesn't look as though he will be able to match the 18 he posted a year ago. He might even struggle to reach double-digit sacks at this point so until he proves to be more consistent, consider the 32-year-old as more of a low-end Fantasy option in IDP formats heading into Week 10 against the Cowboys.
News: Eagles defensive lineman Jason Babin managed three tackles (one solo) Week 6 vs. Detroit. He has 15 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks in six games.
Analysis: Babin doesn't have a sack in his last three games after getting 2 1/2 in his first three. The Eagles pass rush has been abysmal as of late and it's showing in Babin's recent production. He has lost a little Fantasy appeal in IDP formats while he struggles to bring down the quarterback.
News: Eagles defensive lineman Jason Babin had just one tackle Sunday at the Steelers in Week 5. He did have a pass knocked down.
Analysis: Babin is off to a slow start with just 2.5 sacks on the season. He will look to get going in Week 6 against the Lions, and he should remain active in all IDP leagues.
News: Eagles defensive lineman Jason Babin could not get going defensively during Sunday's contest against the Giants. Babin recorded just one tackle in the third quarter in a 19-17 victory.

News: Eagles defensive end Jason Babin did not dress for the teams preseason finale Thursday against the Jets, though he does remain on track to play in Week 1 against the Browns, Sept. 9. Babin has missed the entire preseason with a strained calf.
Analysis: This was essentially what we expected, as the veteran has nothing to prove in preseason following an 18-sack season in 2011. He has posted double-digit sacks in each of the last two seasons and is worth a mid-round selection in IDP Fantasy formats on Draft Day, as a high-end option.
News: Eagles coach Andy Reid told reporters Sunday defensive end Jason Babin (calf) should be ready by the season opener (Sept. 9) against the Browns.
Analysis: Babin might miss the entire preseason schedule, but that is of little concern to the Eagles. He is a veteran defensive lineman, so the main concern is getting him healthy. Babin had a career-high 18 sacks in 2011. He has totaled 98 tackles and 30 1/2 sacks the last two seasons. He is an elite Fantasy defensive lineman and worth a mid-round pick in IDP drafts.

Analysis: Babin played big last season, likely to land a big contract this summer. He's done that, but reuniting with Washburn will go a long way in helping him stay productive. We would consider Babin a middle-of-the-pack No. 2 Fantasy DL worth a middle- to late-round pick on Draft Day.

Analysis: Babin had never exceeded more than five sacks in his six seasons prior to his break out, 10-sack 2010 campaign. Analysis: Last season Babin played in 12 games and had 20 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks for the Eagles. He is more of a waiver wire type player going into the season.
News: Tennessee has acquired DE Jason Babin after the Eagles declined to match the Titans' offer for him. Babin, a first-round draft pick in 2004 out of Western Michigan, has played for Houston, Seattle, Kansas City and Philadelphia. He has all offseason to come in and work with Coach (Jim) Washburn and become a part of our rotation at defensive end."
Analysis: He will help replace Kyle Vanden Bosch, who signed with Detroit on the first day of free agency, and Jevon Kearse, who was benched in October in the final year of his contract. He's nothing more than a low-end one-week replacement option off waivers this season. Don't draft him.

News: The Eagles have listed WR Reggie Brown, WR Brandon Gibson, DB Sean Jones, DL Jason Babin and LB Joe Mays as inactive for Week 1 at Carolina.
Analysis: It's really surprising to see Brown among the Eagles inactives since just last season he was considered a starter before he dealt with some injury woes. Philly is now using a lot of younger receivers, like DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Most of the inactive players are reserves for the Eagles, so along with Brown, make sure to keep them reserved for Week 1.

Wilhelm was a 4th-round pick by San Diego in 2004. Wilhelm, who helped Ohio State win the national title in his senior year, had 220 tackles, two sacks and six interceptions with the Chargers, who released him on July 24.
Analysis: Babin and Wilhelm will try to make the team but have minimal Fantasy value. Ignore Jackson, Robinson and Thigpen in all leagues while they are out of a job.

CB Patrick Surtain also had an interception with two solo tackles.
Analysis: Of these defenders, Hali is usable as a No. 2 Fantasy DL and Flowers as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy DB. No one else is worth the roster spot in Fantasy play. The Chiefs play vs. the Dolphins in Week 16.
News: In the Chiefs' 54-31 loss vs. the Bills in Week 12, notable defenders included: LB Rocky Boiman (12 total tackles, forced fumble), DB Bernard Pollard (nine total tackles) and DL Jason Babin (seven solo tackles)
Analysis: Of these defenders, only Pollard is useful in the deepest of Fantasy Football leagues as a No. 3 DB. The Chiefs play at the Raiders in Week 13.
News: The Seahawks official team site notes that defensive end Jason Babin, a former first-round draft choice of the Houston Texans, spent all summer working to get into shape and make an impression on Seattle coaches. Babin came to camp in great condition. He loved being back at defensive end -- the Texans converted him into a linebacker -- with his quickness and raising a ruckus in drills. He was a hit in the scrimmage on Aug. 2 and then Friday night he finally got to play against the Minnesota Vikings. He was virtually unblockable for the Vikings in the second half with four tackles, including a sack and another tackle for a loss, plus a quarterback hurry that was nearly another sack.
Analysis: Babin put in the time to realize his potential at the position he prefers to play. The Seahawks have been noticing in camp, but he's currently listed as third on the depth chart at his position. That won't give him enough stats to warrant use in Fantasy IDP leagues, although Babin does have future upside.
News: Seahawks QB Charlie Frye (3rd QB), DB Josh Wilson, DL Jason Babin, WR Courtney Taylor and DL Rocky Bernard have all been ruled inactive for Week 16 vs. Baltimore.
Analysis: Most of these players serve as reserves or on special teams and don't play a huge role in the Seahawks' schemes. They have little to no Fantasy value when active. Keep them reserved Week 16.
News: Seahawks inactives for their Week 15 game at the Panthers include: QB Charlie Frye, WR D.J. Hackett, DB Josh Wilson, DL Jason Babin, WR Courtney Taylor and DL Ellis Wyms.
Analysis: Frye will serve as the No. 3/emergency QB for the Seahawks. Everyone else listed above shouldn't bother to be on Fantasy rosters. WEATHER: Windy with gusts between 15 and 25 m.p.h.
News: Seahawks DB Josh Wilson, DL Jason Babin, WR Courtney Taylor, DL Baraka Atkins and QB Charlie Frye (3rd QB) have all been ruled inactive for Week 14 vs. Arizona.
Analysis: Most of these players serve as reserves or on special teams and don't play a huge role in the Seahawks' schemes. They have little to no Fantasy value when active. Keep them reserved Week 14.
News: Seahawks inactives for Week 13 at Philadelphia include: QB Charlie Frye (No. 3/emergency QB), WR D.J. Hackett, FB David Kirtman, DE Jason Babin, LB Will Herring and DL Howard Green.
Analysis: Aside from Hackett, everyone listed above doesn't produce enough stats to warrant use in Fantasy play. Keep them off of Fantasy rosters.
News: The Seahawks inactives for Week 12 at St. Louis include QB Charlie Frye (3rd QB), DL Jason Babin, LB Will Herring, WR Courtney Taylor and DL Howard Green.
Analysis: None of these players have much Fantasy value and should be reserved in all leagues for Week 12.
News: The Seahawks' list of inactives for Week 9 at Cleveland includes DB C.J. Wallace, DL Jason Babin, DL Howard Green and QB Charlie Frye.
Analysis: These players either play too small a role or don't contribute enough statistically to have any value in Fantasy. Keep all reserved for Week 9 and Week 10 against the 49ers.
News: The Seahawks inactives for Week 5 against Pittsburgh include WR D.J. Hackett, DB Josh Wilson, TE Ben Joppru, DL Jason Babin, QB Charlie Frye and WR Courtney Taylor.
Analysis: Keep all of these players reserved for Week 5.
News: Seattle's WR D.J. Hackett (ankle), TE Bennie Joppru (ankle), DE Ellis Wyms, WR Courtney Taylor, DE Jason Babin and third QB Charlie Frye were all named inactive for the Seahawks' Week 4 game vs. SF.
Analysis: Hackett has now missed three straight games as his ankle injury continues to give him troubles and his Fantasy value continues to drop. None of the other players have any Fantasy value at this time.
News: Notable inactives from Week 3's Cincinnati-Seattle game include: Bengals LB Ahmad Brooks, QB Jeff Rowe (No. 3/emergency QB), DB Nedu Ndukwe, DB Ethan Kilmer, WR Tab Perry, DL Frostee Rucker and LB Rashad Jeanty. For the Bengals, OT Levi Jones will not start. LBs Lemar Marshall and Caleb Miller will start for the Bengals. The Seahawks' inactives are: DL Jason Babin, LB Kevin Bentley, QB Charlie Frye (No. 3/emergency QB), WR D.J. Hackett, TE Bennie Joppru, RB Maurice Morris and WR Ben Obomanu.
Analysis: Perry and Hackett remain sidelined for their respective teams and should be benched in Fantasy play as well. The remainder of the players listed here aren't reliable Fantasy owners.
News: The Seahawks listed QB Charlie Frye (third QB), WR D.J. Hackett (ankle), RB Maurice Morris (hip), DL Jason Babin (coach's decision), LB Leroy Hill (foot) and WR Ben Obamanu (hamstring) as inactive for Week 2 at Arizona.
Analysis: None of these players should be on your active Fantasy roster. That should not change until further notice.
News: DEs Baraka Atkins, Jason Babin and Ellis Wyms were each inactive for Week 1 against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Wyms might be a decent addition in the deepest of IDP Fantasy leagues, but Atkins and Babin are not useful in most formats even when on the field.
News: The Houston Texans traded former first-round pick Jason Babin to the Seattle Seahawks for strong safety Michael Boulware on Saturday. "I heard that I'm going to Seattle," Babin said. "We knew it was a possibility. It's the way football goes. Just do what you can while you're here."
Analysis: Babin, a defensive end and the 27th pick in the 2004 draft, started every game as a rookie but lost his starting role in 2005 and has played in mostly a reserve role since. He has no IDP appeal at this time. Keep him on the waiver wire.
News: The Houston Texans will trade former first-round pick Jason Babin to the Seattle Seahawks for strong safety Michael Boulware, Babin said Saturday.

News: The Texans held the Patriots to just 230 total yards in a Week 15 loss, but they gave up a whopping 40 points. The Texans forced no turnovers and had only one sack (Jason Babin).
Analysis: The Texans DST should not be used in Week 16 vs. Indianapolis. Babin is at best a low-end Fantasy DL in IDP leagues.
News: The Texans DST scored a touchdown and got five turnovers against Oakland. DB Demarcus Faggins had three tackles and returned a fumble for a touchdown. LB DeMeco Ryans had 15 tackles, an interception, a sack and a fumble recovery. LB Morlon Greenwood had nine tackles and a fumble recovery. DB Dexter McCleon had three tackles and an interception. DB Glenn Earl had four tackles and a sack. DL Jason Babin had three tackles and a sack. DL N.D. Kalu had two tackles and a sack. DL Lional Dalton had two tackles and a sack.
Analysis: Despite the good outing, the Texans DST should only be used as a low-end No. 2 option against the Titans in Week 14. Use all IDP players as needed.
News: Texans DE Jason Babin (illness) did not practice on Friday but is expected to play at the Jets in Week 12.
Analysis: Owners should avoid Babin in all Fantasy play.
News: Notable Texans inactive for Week 7 include: CB Derrick Johnson, SS Glenn Earl, RB Ron Dayne, WR Derrick Lewis, TE Jeb Putzier, DE Jason Babin and DT Thomas Johnson.
Analysis: Keep these players reserved for Fantasy purposes in Week 7.
News: Texans DL Jason Babin (back) has been downgraded from probable to questionable for Week 7 vs. Jacksonville.
Analysis: Babin is not a viable Fantasy option at this time.
News: The Houston Chronicle reports the Texans have signed Babin to a contract on Saturday. He is expected to start with the Texans.
Analysis: The first-round pick might be worth a late-round pick on Draft Day in leagues which use individual defenders.
